Got a "Sorry we missed you!" note from USPS....

So,I ordered a half p from a vendor and was expectin it today, but instead got a note saying sorry we missed you and that my item will be available for pick up tomorrow at a local post office....does this mean they are gonna make me sign? or what is going on here? I don't like this honestly.

Edit: Forgot to add,I was here when the mailman got here, they only stayed at my mailbox and never came up or got out at all....so could it be they just happened to forget to put the package in the vehicle??

I'm not a lawyer or anything, but I think a normal law abiding citizen would be curious and get the package. If your ballsy just go pick it up. If they say anything in the post office just keep saying "yeah it's the strangest thing, I didn't order anything. Maybe it's from my family for ____"

Or cut your loses.

Tips: get to know your mail person. I talk to my mailman all the time, he leaves everything for me. He will even wrap it in plastic if it's raining and leave a note in my mailbox telling me where he left it. Would that package have been too big to fit in a mailbox? The driver may not have felt safe leaving it and ultimately it is their responsibility to see it delivered safely

Also some mailmen are lazy. I lived in an apt complex and the entire complex would only get packages every other day not matter how someone sent it. He would mark a missed delivery from his truck it was bullshit. Just sayin' they are human.

I believe on those slips it has a website you can visit where you can waive them needing a signature to drop it off. I do think you need the tracking number though, so unless that is written on the slip you're basically going to be admitting you are expecting the package/contents.

I've picked up drug packages at the post office several times. Schedules 2-4 substances though, never 1. Probably not relevant to anything though, scheduled is scheduled and I definitely don't possess DEA importation permits.
