VENDOR REVIEW: BudCentral, unknown strain (possibly Afgani Black)

NOTE: This was a free sample sent to me by BudCentral. One of BC's Reddit representatives saw a long, detailed story I posted in another subreddit and approached me about writing a detailed review in exchange for a free sample. I accepted, and was sent the sample. This does NOT change the content of my review, entice me to say nice things, misrepresent the quality of the product, etc; I will be 100% honest in my review, both in my criticisms and in my praise.

Product: Marijuana of an unknown strain. I messaged BC a couple of weeks after receiving the product to ask what its name was, but BC did not remember. After looking at his (very poor quality) pictures on CannabisRoad, I believe I was sent the Afgani Black. This goes for $190/oz on CR, including shipping.

Communication: Not necessarily easy to grade; I wasn't even a customer, just a reviewer receiving a free sample. I was not a high priority. My first message to BC, in which I brought up the offer that his representative gave me, did not receive a response for 2 days; further messages received the same slow response time. Again, this isn't easy to rate because I was not a priority customer; I don't know how quickly BC's communication is with regular customers. N/A

Shipping: I cannot make any comment here, because I completely forgot about the sample immediately after sending BC a message. I was just checking the mail one day and found a random package of weed; I still didn't remember the sample, and only realized it was from BC after my wife mentioned that it must be the sample I had told her about. I have no idea how long it took to get to me; it could've been sitting in my box for a week. N/A

Stealth: Nothing too extraordinary or unusual here; just your average weed vendor stealth. I believe the weed was in at least 3 layers, possibly one or two additional light barriers. Definitely good enough to prevent any smell from escaping. Gets the job done and as far as I'm concerned deserves a perfect score. 5/5

Bag Appeal: This is probably the weakest aspect of the strain, and probably the majority of BC's weed (from what I've read in reviews as well as pictures). The weed looks like regular mids; dark green, dense, no visible trichomes at all. It's pretty unremarkable in terms of bag appeal, so if you are re-selling and your customers are used to glistening, beautiful weed, BC may not be for you. 3/5

Smell: Not overly powerful, but certainly has a kick to it. Unlike any other weed I've ever smelled; I've sat and tried to think of a proper way to describe this smell so many times now, and I'm afraid I still can't do it justice. It smells fruity, but unlike any common fruits; to be honest, it kinda smells like one of those V8 Fusion drinks. It's a thick fruit smell, not like some tangy citrus. Way fucking weird for weed, again unlike anything I've ever smelled before, but overall not unpleasant. Takes some getting used to, but I like it personally. 4/5

Smoke: Inhales quickly and smoothly; keeps lit decently well, especially if you packed the bowl well. The smoke can be harsh if you inhale too much, though, so be careful. My first time smoking this stuff, I took a huge puff and Hugs damn near met his Maker that day, choking to death in his car. Luckily I was able to finally breathe again and I was more careful after that. I don't want to say that this weed tastes like it wasn't grown properly, because TBH I'm not enough of a weed aficionado to make that distinction, but there is some sort of rough, chemical taste to me. Maybe it's just in my head, maybe it's normal, I don't know. Just my experience. Overall, not a bad smoke at all; just be careful on the inhale ;) 4/5

Potency: Finally, what we all really care about when it comes down to it: How strong is the weed? Well this, my friends, is where BC's weed came through. I'd previously been smoking exclusively on ECC's weed, primarily the LSD and Mango Kush, so I know what strong weed feels like. No lie, BC's average-looking, unremarkable weed was every bit as strong as ECC's Mango Kush, and pretty damn close to being as strong as the LSD. I couldn't believe it when I first smoked it. Four hits in, and I'm reclining in the driver's seat of my car, huge grin on my face as I listened to some music. Not a care in the world. I have no clue as to the genetics of the weed I was sent, but it felt like a Indica-dominant hybrid to me. Not extreme couch lock or a ton of lethargy, though. In fact, I've been smoking this weed before going to work at night (janitor, no people to deal with) and it's kept me focused, calm, and happy while I work such a mundane job. I'm extremely pleased with the strength of this weed. 5/5

FINAL VERDICT: If you're in the re-selling business and your customers are more concerned about how strong your shit is than how it looks, this just may be the weed for you. If you're looking for something for yourself, some good quality shit to smoke on for a while, this may also be for you. The sample I was sent was very generous, so I've been smoking steadily on this for a while now and I am still loving it. It hasn't got old yet; it's such a relaxing high that it's perfect for what I use it for.

If you want weed that has great bag appeal or some dank, weedy smell, this may not be the bud for you. It's pretty plain looking, completely unremarkable in terms of appearance, and the smell is not like any weed you've ever smelled before.

My opinion: At $190/oz including shipping, this is a pretty good deal. ECC's Mango Kush goes for $200/oz and is (in my opinion) the best deal on the entire DNM scene; however, this weed is not far below it. Packs quite a punch and provides a gentle, yet consuming high. BC will have my business in the future when ECC is not in stock.

Any comments on the stealth of the package?

Hugs, do you have any picture of the nug(s)? If not, that is fine.
