A P2P DNM?

Is there call for a P2P market, where the market holds no personal info you communicate through your own preferred contact method, you send coins directly or use a third party Escrow. So the site holds no coins.

This sounds like the way to go if you ask me I wanted the communities thoughts on this. A site that all it serves as is an interactive listing board with ratings and such.

Let's Talk about it!

There has been a lot of discussion on this in the past. I think one of the main points is who develops this and why? No one gets a cut when it's just a listing board?

From what ive read on this doing a p2p market, as in a distributed marketplace is a technological challenge no one has begun to wrap their heads around. Think about it, its not a server-client system like we're used to, like tor hidden services are run as, its more like a type of freenet that isnt stuck in web1.0. From what it sounds like it might require a whole new anonymous network designed for such a thing, maybe some brilliant engineer can figure out how to put it on top of tor/i2p.

So in order for it to be p2p every client would need to keep a copy of all the product listings, transactions, the userlist/vendorlist, every private message, and all the reviews and vendor pages. I imagine it would be too massive to download every time so it would need to be encrypted well or else everyone could have access to everything which is scary. I think of it as if you're downloading a website through bittorrent that is always stuck at 99%.
