Really dodged a bullet today...thanks to my incompetent mailman

Well, today was quite a scare. I've got a decent amount of experience on the DNMs and have solid connections with my go-to vendors. Had something coming from one of my regulars, who does a great job on stealth, shipping, etc. and expected it would arrive today. Checked the mailbox to no avail. Well, I go to work and when I come home on my dinner break my sister asks if I've been expecting any mail. This gave me a pit in my stomach. She's totally cool about it, but I wasn't sure where the conversation was headed. Turns out while I was at work a man from a street 3 blocks away with a completely different house number, street name and all received it and was kind enough to bring it by. God bless that guy! He had no idea what he was returning. It wasn't opened or compromised, and if it had been was stealthed enough that it would take more than just a peek inside to have any idea of the contents. Still, a huge fuckup by the mailman that could have been disastrous if it had been accidentally delivered to someone less friendly. Hell, maybe the mailman is on something himself. Has anyone else had experiences with this? I understand deliveries to the wrong address contribute to a good portion of people being caught. I have considered making a complaint to the local post office, but I feel like that would only draw unwanted attention to me. What would you guys do in this situation? Simple mixup or something that is a risk and needs to be addressed(specifically, the mail carrier assigned to my route)? I appreciate any advice you guys that have been doing this longer than me can offer. Not stressing it too much since it arrived ok, but still this makes me a little more wary of trusting that what I order will be delivered to the right place

I've never had a mailman mix up like that, But I have had a very well known vendor mix up the last 2 digits in a drop addy 2 times in a row. Literally, 2 packs in a row he mixed them up. Luckily the person down the street is a good person.

And do not call the post office. Sorry the man is human. He made an honest mistake on his daily job, and it just happened to be your illegal drugs, don't potentially get the man in trouble because your pack took a little bit longer. Just be happy you got it and finalize on time for your vendor :)

Happy to hear you got your shit though, hope I didn't sound like a dick haha.

Just let the mailman know what happened. Don't call the PO because that absolutely will draw attention to you. Either the manager of the PO will scold the driver or they will pretty much laugh it off and write a note on your acct that you like to complain.

Either one is bad.

There was someone that posted this same thing happening today and his neighbor also returned the pack unopened. Only difference is the other guys neighbor was a cop! I bet that would of freaked you out! Just goes to show you we know what's in there so we look at it like anyone might know. Most of the time they never would guess.

Something like this happened to me 2 years ago when I had ordered a QP of bud for the first time to one of those mail centers with mailboxes where they accept mail for you if you pay the monthly rate for a box. I had bought from the vendor before, but much smaller amounts. Every time the stealth was great. This day, after I arrived to pick up my package, the lady who worked there told me that someone working accidentally gave my package to another person who rented a mailbox there. When she told me that, I immediately thought to myself, "well, that's it, as soon as the person opens it and sees the weed, I'm probably going to jail." She told me she would call the person and tell them they had a mix up and hopefully get the person to bring it back soon. I left the store with nothing, thinking that I would have to deal with cops soon. A few hours later, I got a phone call expecting the worst. It was the lady who gave my package to someone else telling me that they had brought it back, fully intact. I drove to the mail center and picked up my package, the person never even tried opening it. Needless to say, I was very relieved and smoked some of that weed as soon as I could. Out of probably 100+ transactions between the people I know, this was the only time something like this ever happened. This is the reason I would only buy from vendors with above average stealth.

Happened to me once, guy tried to deliver to my neighbour a package that was for an address a couple streets down, neighbour wasn't in so he tried to leave it with me, when I looked at the name on the package I ran out after him and told him it wasn't my neighbours package, guy thanked me and told me I probably just saved his job! If I was a dick I coulda kept whatever was inside..

Never with drugs, but I had CanPar drop off a $1200 shipment at the wrong address, wrong street, wrong number, 5 miles away. Such a huge cockup, idk how they managed it. Likewise the guy was kind enough to get hold of me and even dropped it off at my house.

I was so pissed.

[2 Points] GeneralStarkk:

Some may not believe me, and I can't provide proof because this was like a year ago. Anyway, my neighbor knocked on my door to return a package that got wrongly delivered to her house. It was a oz of pot, the corner was completely ripped off, so was were you would go if you opened it. The MBB was cut, yes, cut. The oz weighed on point though. Nothing ever came of it. Well, except that oz.

Be glad you got it and move on..oh yeah and be nice to your neighbors! I get my neighbors mail all the time, and wait for her to get home to take it to her so she knows I brought it down. Apartment boxes are a nightmare. But my theory is if she ever gets my mail..she will return the favor.

[2 Points] Theeconomist1:

Yup. This is one of my big fears and a big weak link. I've had one DNM pack mid delievered similar to you. I e also had a clearnet pack delievered down the street. They opened it before realizing it wasn't theirs!!! This has made me incredibly uneasy. That could have easily been a DNM pack.

[2 Points] bringmeuptospeed:

Honest people who would do something like this are also the types of people who might report you to the police. Ironically, the dishonest types that might open your package with no intention of returning it to you are the types of people who would probably not report you to the police. Misdeliveries are a big fear but more times than not I bet those work out OK too.

I've received others' mail in a PO box. I pushed it back through the hole to the place accessible my employees to return to hopefully the rightful owner, although I believe it was just an ad

Maybe I didn't read close enough, but what bullet was dodged by your mail guy fucking up? seems to me his fuck up made it perilously to having something bad happen. Thankfully nothing did happen!

Thanks to everyone for your replies and advice. Glad I'm not the only one who's dealt with this scare, but glad you all made it out safe and sound. Guess this is a good reason to give your mailman a little something around the holidays when you get that hint hint Christmas card from them. Maybe $20 to Starbucks would help this guy keep track of his shit. Being paranoid in this game is a good thing though. If you're not paranoid, you're probably slipping
