Online market is turning drug dealers from goons to geeks

Drug dealers are turning from goons to geeks in a trade that is increasingly being conducted online, says a report by the European drugs agency. Research into internet drug markets by the European Monitoring Centre for Drugs and Drug Addiction (EMCDDA) suggested the self-regulation of online markets such as Silk Road provide a safer environment for users and dealers of illicit substances.

Feedback mechanisms similar to eBay mean customers are able to hold dealers to account for the service they provide, the report said, while remote access to the market almost eliminates the risk of violence that has long been an integral part of the black economy. As a result, online drug dealers are more likely to need good customer service skills and a persuasive way with words than muscles and a tough reputation.

The darknet is just the latest chapter in a 50-year game of cat and mouse – that the drug warriors can never win.

Your so beloved drug warrior boogeyman would not fucking exist if you people actually regulated and taxed drugs! You brought this on yourself, law enforcement, but finally the people have evolved their ways, as you evolve yours. The police will never win this war, because there is nothing to be won or lost: we just like to get high, just as much as you love your fucking tax money. Instead you waste time on raiding pot smokers, undercover cops busting people for a couple hits of xtc at festivals, and stripping us of our liberties, one terrorist attack at a time, one overdose at a time. drugs are ridiculously profitable, they are amazing and we will always find a fucking way out of your bullshit. fuck you and your skwewed morality race, fuck you and fuck everything you love and believe in, LE. I hate you so much god dammit I'm losing my cool.

Why I wasn't mentioned in this article. I wear a pocket protector while I answer messages and do orders!

[2 Points] good_sense:

I like how they make it seem like ordering on the darknet is hard, it really is so easy you don't need to be a "geek" to do it, just not a total retard

"Users of darknet markets tend to be more sophisticated, recreational drug users."

:)

I thought this was a pretty good article, most mainstream coverage of the DNMs betrays the total ignorance of the author but this one was pretty accurate.

From Goons To Geeks.

I can see an American television producer conjuring up a reality TV show with this title and subject matter.

Honestly there needs to be a back up sub called "OhShitDNMsGoneButNotForgotten"

[1 Points] octomarvel:

Yes, now your 40 year old. Grill' cookin' bald head white guy that wears shorts and wife beater in the summer in his middle class home can now start vending there favorite meth supply ;)

P.S : Incoming great meth USA domestic coming straight from the best source. As you can tell I test east batch very much. I have been securing the best source for the psychdellic properties of the meth that I throughly enjoyed in the 80's
