Just wanna say thank you, and I love you guys

Well just like the title says. Thanks community. Im a struggling alcoholic, partyholic for those of you who dont know me. Im from Dallas( not breaking the rules as Dtown is one of the top 10 largest cities in this goddamn great nation). I was going nowhere w my life even tho I worked a great job waiting tables in an awesome restaurant making serious bank. On top of that im on my hustle irl thanks to the DNM. Went to county for a while earlier this year for my 2nd dwi(and alcohols legal right?!?)got out and was depressed. Ive always been a pretty boy who likes money hence why i was a waiter but i was not really happy. But guess what?what seeing 9000 sober mtwdewman from codeinecowboys subreddit also struggling like me and knowing my girlloves and supports me and also working construction yes from waiter to working man, has made me immensely happy. And it all started w this subreddit community. I know im an alcoholic. But i never wanted to quit. UNTIL NOW. Thank you guys. Be safe and lets keep hustling.

Alcohol is one of the most dangerous drugs ever existed. Unlike say fentanyl it's death is not so spectacular in a sense that it is slow and protracted. The liver being the largest organ in the body has the ability to regenerate and so drinking alcohol can engage a 'war' with your liver that goes on for several years. This applies to both daily and binge drinking. By the time your blood tests show sign of liver damage, the damage done to your liver is irreversible but not life-threatening. This is the narrow window to stop. If you are still able to function, you are probably at or near this line so well done for stopping and please never cross. If you feel tempted to drink I will you what happens next to those who carry on drinking, hopefully that will help discourage you:

Continuing drinking causes the liver to become cirrhotic. Cirrhotic livers cause congestion of the livers blood vessel system (which is separate in some ways to your general circulation so that it can remove toxins taken in through your digestive tract). This congestion can be so bad that it reverses the direction of blood flow through the gullet, stomach, intestines etc. The end results are the development are blood filled sacs at the bottom of your gullet and in your stomach known as 'varices'. They can also appear in your rectum. These will form eventually, only a matter of time, and even more worryingly only a matter of time before they bleed. When they bleed they pour out blood. Talking horror movie stuff. Many an alcoholic has lost their lives to variceal bleeding.

There is also the build up of toxins in the liver. This causes hepatic encephalopathy. Patients end up severely confused, almost comatose are often deeply jaundiced. By this stage fluid develops in the abdominal cavity that never goes away despite drainage (the historical origin of a beer belly also known as ascites). Not to add that you liver makes all of your clotting factors, so if you end up with hepatic failure due to drinking alcohol and your liver is a mess, you could literally end up bleeding from every single orifice in your body. Not just the usual ones, include eyes, urethra, joints and practically anything that moves.

That is not even touching on acute pancreatitis which could kill on it's own or chronic pancreatitis which can make you suffer pain like no tomorrow eating food and having 1 alcoholic beverage will just lead to a hospital admission.

Alcohol spares no one. Rich or poor. Celebrity or homeless. You clearly realized the drinking needs to stop, I have simply tried to detail what will happen if you fall back heavily into that evil addiction.
