This has always been something that bothers me. We constantly see people making accusations against vendors but providing little in terms of proof, we all understand that some things cannot be proven such as wrong addresses but if you truly want to have an impact, you need to provide us with something.
Example 1: AlphaBay stole $3.50 from me! Scammers!
This is a hard one by far the most difficult to prove. The market has a rep and answers to no one meaning they face little in consequences. Rotating wallets means we rely on the market to confirm that wallet is indeed theirs. As far as proof goes there's a few things you can do. The transaction ID will show that the transaction actually happened, has been confirmed and sufficient time has passed for your account to be credited. Having a reputation around here will come in handy as well, we are all willing to listen to a well known user more rather than a fresh account. None of this guarantees anything but it will give you more legitimacy giving your accusations more weight.
Example 2: ShittyVendor9000 sent me flour and is threatening to swat me!
This is one you can win. It can have devastating effects on the vendor and because of this we should all be demanding to see some proof. Do not post a part of your conversation, post as much as possible without breaking opsec, we need to see the vendor saying that and we also need to see what was said previously in order to give proper context. We are not perfect human beings and if I was threatened first I would most definitely be throwing it right back. This also goes for people claiming the vendor stopped responding as proof of scamming, if you send them 50 messages a day since you ordered I wouldn't respond either. Posting the transaction ID will be useful in these situations, especially for large scale purchases.
My point is, unless you give adequate proof of some kind you may end up advertising for the vendor. Public drama gathers lots of attention, if you end up being labeled as a scammer you've only given that vendor larger recognition and even made them look like the good guy defending himself against the nasty scammers.
Two final things. Please be professional and remain calm during your accusation. CAPS LOCK, bold, ?????!!!!!!! and name calling does not make your accusation more legitimate. It usually has the opposite effect even subconsciously. Also please try to remain online when you make your post. Too often people disappear immediately after and due to the nature of Reddit these posts can be buried quickly without lots of upvotes. By the time you get back to respond to the vendor or any questions it may be long gone from the public eye.
