Who is really winning from markets DDOSing

There were speculation that behind the DDOS attacks may be LE or some extortionist who is requesting money to stop the attacks. But let's think who is the real winner in this situation. The market links people have bookmarked doesn't work anymore. They have to go everytime to DeepDotWeb website to get a new working link because as they stated "some of market admins are providing us automatically with new ALT urls, in some ways we will not disclose now"

DDW is mainly funded by the affiliate links posted in every corner of their website. Every time someone uses their link to register and make a purchase they get money. And now they will have nearly 100% of the affiliate revenue as the only source of market links. Soon it will become a habit to first visit their site for everyone heading to a darknet market. And then they can even start asking markets for money to be included in their list. Very clever, DDW!

I don't have any proof, this is just speculation. Game theory.

Edit:

I used to spam affiliate links, Agora was my favorite. And believe me, you can earn lots of money if you place your link in the right place. It was 25% of the market fees for Agora if I remember correctly.

Nowadays the main source of darknet market links is DDW and DNM subreddit. The people who control these 2 places also have the "opportunity" to insert some phishing links if they want and have the technical knowledge. Lets estimate this "revenue" from phishing to be the same as affiliate links.

So, it results that someone controlling all the links is able to earn as much as 50% as the market itself without running a market. But markets come and go, but the affiliate and phishing earnings remain constant.

So, according to game theory, someone who's only reason to run a website is to earn money will do the thing above. That's the same reason markets do exit scam. Everyone is just doing business here, there are no more Ross Ulbirchts.

But that's just my 2 cents. Make your own opinion.

Great Theory , upvoted!

Amazing how some retard on reddit is always able to twist even my best efforts to serve you with legit working links to some malicious intents.

Btw - Its phishers ddosing, they are benefiting from the confusion, yep. And no, dont go blame PK (since his the only phisher known here), there are others. These phishers might as well be LE trying to create chaos, who knows.

Edit: Checked OP's post history. Got the mindset now.

It's probably not LE because it is not really that effective. Of course, there is confusion, but there are new links. I would rather say it's another market or scammers are DDOSing to get some fake link revenue. I partly agree with your theory, but it is probably not that effective for DDW, they probably wouldn't make so much money from that.

Definitely not the customers, I just want my fucking crack

... or, you know, DDW could just operate as normal without DDOSing anyone, and collect affiliates steadily anyway, they have one of the most prominent darknet sites on Google.

And other darknet forums rapidly copy DDW's links anyway, so his purported "plan" is easily thwarted.

Your speculation is silly. It's far more likely to be some script kiddie trying to extort coins from Dream. And failing, in all likelihood.

Just saw that - Are you for real? I could have started doing that from 2013 if i wanted, not "soon"!

A passing day without getting at least 5 - 10 offers to get paid to list {insert market/vendor name, including the ones who are currently listed} is not complete. As we speak there are over ten rejected (ignored) offers in my mail and several in reddit PM's you are seriously clueless to how things REALLY work there. I will never be paid to list anyone, try me, many did before you.

The fact people cannot imagine others who cctually contribute something useful to this world, and not by being scammers is mostly a reflection on their set of values.

You may be onto something, but I almost always take the referral text out of the links I use anyway.

Hello, I'm only0ne-de Tochka Market Staff, I do not want to point in any direction but I can say that after we released our source code to the public we received messages to remove the source from the public. We did not remove our source code and remain the first open-source DNM. We are still under ongoing DDoS attacks since then.

[1 Points] n4b5:

It makes sense. Deepdotweb has the only working link for Dream Market at the moment, so if everyone uses that link (which has an affiliate number) since today onwards they will earn 25% of the market fees which is millions. Makes sense to spend tens of thousands for DDoSing in this case.

All the guides and websites made to earn affiliate commisions will become useless, and all the money will go to DDW. Besides this try to extort money from the market admins to have someone to blame. A brilliant scheme!

Unless the DDoS attacks are part of some new LE scheme to track down market servers.
