I'm sure we've all seen the warnings/complaints about Bitcoin Fog. Do you think there is any legitimacy to them?
Have any well established members of this community, or vendors, ever made a verifiable complaint about them?
There used to be a warning on the sidebar here, but as of this post it appears to be gone. They are currently listed on the superlist with no warning.
They have certainly been around for a long time, but my theory about mixers is that it is more profitable for a scammer who runs one to selectively scam rather than exit scam, since a lot of money flows through them but it isn't held for more than a few hours. Unlike markets, where the most profitable scam is the exit, since they have large amounts held in escrow and accounts, and word of selective scamming could cause mass withdrawals.
At the same time, a good way for newer mixers to get customers would be to flood DN forums with accusations against your more established competition, i.e. Bitcoin Fog.
What do you folks think of them? I would love to hear your opinions about the legitimacy of the complains, and/or your personal experiences with them.
TL;DR- Bitcoin Fog, yea or nay?
I think it's about time we add a selective scam warning to the wiki entry, doing that now.
