I understand that it is never a good idea to order under a fake name or under a name not associated with your drop's address. Supposedly, that can very quickly turn LEO's focus onto you. Is it also a bad idea to do what I listed in the title? If you're not familiar with it, C/O or "Care Of" is basically meant for those who don't have a permanent address. "Real Name" receives mail on behalf of "Fake Name" and is entrusted with the responsibility of delivering it to them. From what I can tell, "Real Name" shouldn't really have any knowledge of what is inside the package, given that it is illegal to open other's mail. If you leave the package sitting next to your door and the cops bust in, you could plausibly argue that "Fake Name" simply hasn't shown up yet to pick up his package.
Given that I never see people talking about doing this, I am inclined to think that it is an awful idea. Why is that the case?
I don't think that it's necessarily a bad idea, more so it won't make much of a difference if you do that or not. Anyone can mail you anything so why use C/O?
