80% coke? I heard coke could be up to 98% straight from the source. Is that true?

I'm sure it's possible to manufacture ANY chemical that pure, if you have access to the kinds of facilities that pharmaceutical companies have. If you're using gasoline as a solvent, and have to make this stuff in clandestine labs, I think the average operation will produce product with unreacted components and other impurities. I doubt you would commonly find anything over ~80% for coke, even if there is no cutting going on. That being said, I have no specific knowledge of the coke trade, so I hope others can chime in.

Look up pharmaceutical cocaine on Wikipedia.

Thought this might interest too, a month or so ago our product was, independently and unbeknownst to us, lab tested at 72% for our 'social' product :

i think it depends how you extract it, i think they used to get the purest stuff with petrol but different methods can make it less pure. Usually everybody who it goes through cuts it too so i doubt it

On SR2 forums, some people were saying that the reason you can't have pure cocaine is because the rest of it is hydrochloride. So the most pure cocaine was like 83% or something, but because it needs to be in a salt the rest is HCl.
Is this not true?

Stepped on all the way down the line..unless your making it yourself you ain't gettin 98%

Certainly the quality will be higher the closer you get to 'source', but considering most production is far from being conducted in a sterile or 'lab grade' setup even 'uncut from source' is likely to be at most 80% 'pure'. 'Excellent' DNM sourced coke can be around that %, but don't believe the fishscale / from the rock / or other marketing bullsh*t.
Frankly speaking, and possibly from a position of some knowledge, the larger vendors to their best to source the best product they can get their hands on. We frequently reject batches from our contacts, but when the market is 'dry' we have to accept that fact and use that batch (we always tell our customers). We NEVER use marketing catchphrases or make % claims - we offer 'top' and 'social' and are clear on how that's done.
An acetone wash will only remove some adulterants, personally I recommend it, it's not difficult and results (in my view) in a cleaner experience and less horrific comedown.
The only way to properly clean product is a complete acid base reduction and reformation of the salts - a somewhat complex and laborious process for most people.
