Using your real name

I know this has been talked about a bunch of times before and everyone recommends that you use your real name when ordering from darknetmarkets because its less 'suspicious'. However, I've been thinking about this more lately.

I get a ton of mail to my house from junk mailers that is just addressed to 'current resident' or 'homeowner' or some other bullshit. It gets delivered constantly with no problems. I don't see how this is suspicious. I mean I guess it could be if it was some huge package, but for people ordering personal amounts, why should they use their real name instead of 'current resident'?

It seems like it would greatly increase the plausable deniability of the situation if the vendors never know your name.

If you cared enough about a package that you had it shipped using Priority mail with tracking why would you put "current resident" as the name? It's shady.

Now maybe if you were ordering some LSD or something that often times looks like junk mail then yeah you might be on to something.

I agree with waste. You clearly state you receive junk mail that is addressed current resident, not packages. I'd be willing to bet money the mailman would think it was a bit strange to get a package delivered using the name current resident. That's not to say it wouldn't get delivered because I really don't know. It's something id never personally do. I would have a hard time testing the waters on that one.

Depends on the vendor's stealth. If it looks like it should be addressed to a person, like a letter from a university or something, it's going to look weird if it's addressed to Homeowner. If it looks like spam mail then maybe it's a good idea.

There's definitely more plausible deniability when it comes to having drugs sent in your own name. Like a threat or someone trying to frame you etc.

I was reading this thread last night and I'd like to come here and say that, TRUST ME, if vendors could develop a method of stealth to disguise drug orders as junk mail, they'd be all over it. Given the logistics behind junk mail distribution, this simply isn't feasible at present.

In my mind, there are only two options with enough reliability for DNM orders:

  1. Shipped to your home (or PO Box as a distant second option) with your real legal name.

  2. Shipped to your home, PO Box, or business under a business name or commonly used psuedonym that was establish long before you started ordering drugs online.

I could think of several more outlandish ways of doing things but they each introduce so much potential for undesirable outcomes that I consider them functionally useless.

Perhaps someone smarter than me can come up with something better but until then, your best bet is to use one of the two options listed above.

What about using a wrong first name?

[1 Points] usonazty:

It doesn't matter whose name is on it. That's why controlled deliveries are done; name on a package is not enough, so just use your real name.

[1 Points] plurblur:

Prepaid postage, junk mail that goes to thousands of houses can say "current resident" but if you buy postage for a particular package or letter, then dont put the person's name you want to receive it on it. It looks fishy.

[1 Points] DontGiveAFuxtable:

You could write Santa Claus as your name, as long as they have your current residence address or your PO Box, they already have your name. As far as plausible deniability goes, it all depends on the condition of your home, whether or not the package is opened, and what the feds can manage to scare you into telling them. Those three things are pretty much the only deciding factors in a controlled delivery.

In some states, many places will allow you to add multiple names to a box you rent. I prefer it, as I don't like dealers having my name, or my physical address, for that matter.

The people who say "use your real name" in this sub are LE. LE have been lurking and posting in this sub since before SR1 went down.
