Package Undeliverable as Addressed

Hey, so I recently ordered a small package and was watching the tracking everyday, until one day I noticed that the tracking said it could not be delivered as address. I went into the Post Office (an extremely hard decision to make) and after about an hour talking with the Post Office people, they let me take the package with me unopened. THANK GOD. I was wondering if there was anything that should be done on my side before finalizing, this was not a personal amount and simply writing the wrong address seems like a MAJOR FUCK UP to me, but I don't know if I have grounds to open a dispute or what,

Is the address definitely wrong? I had the same thing happen with a package from cali except I purchased the label and emailed it to him myself (close friend). They had it marked out for delivery then around 10 am it went marked same as yours, the funny thing is my mail man came that day same time as usual (last stop on the route late afternoon). They got it and sent me a letter from postal inspector. The stealth was admittedly terrible in my friends end and I lost out on over a grand that day which was supposed to help get things started lol. At least I'm not in jail ya know? The next week i ordered a package from Amazon and it was torn in the corner so you could basically see in the package with the naked eye. Idk if that was Le probing or the package just ripped but it was less than 7 days from the day I got the postal inspectors letter

This used to happen to me all the time because my gate isn't always unlocked and the post man was lazy and wouldn't even ring the bell

No grounds for a dispute but definitely for a bad feedback.

That's pretty messed up. You got the goods in the end though so I would still finalize. However I would mention this in your feedback and/or message the vendor directly about it. I would also not use this vendor again unless you already have a long-standing relationship with him.

Man I had a package do that one time and I had to chase it back to the postal annex and wait for the supervisor to find it and give it to me. They were being difficult but then realized how silly it was to return a package when the company was just going to send it again and charge again for shipping

My friends dog once had a package sent through and he knows for certain his dog provided the address correctly to the vendor. It was surprising that the package made it all the way across the country to the mailman but what happened? It got marked return to sender for a vacant address. Bullshit. The dogs mailman knows him and has gone out of his way to take of him before. He knows him by name so there's no way he would return a package as vacant address. The vendor was pissed at the dog for providing an incorrect address that put him at risk but the dog sad sorry he's 100% sure he provided the correct address. So either two things happened. The vendor either fucked up the address. Or the post office seized it. The considering the vendor and how well they ran their operation for a long time it's most likely the later that's true.

I think the reason we're seeing a lot of people with return to sender packages (read through this subreddit it's happening to a lot of people) is they know what's in them, but it's not a big enough amount to do a controlled delivery on. They might be working together with alphabet soup agencies to gather intel on the vendors the drops/ return addresses they're using.

When a package gets returned the biggest risks lie with the sender, unless there is a large quantity of some hard drugs in the package. Then the buyer could still have issues. But in most cases it's just destroyed.
