As I have emphasized from time to time: DO NOT SIGN DOMESTIC PACKAGE especially first class and priority mail. You have the nerve to call this "bad opsec"?! WTF man?! Let me repeat what I said earlier:

"You people don't get it do you?! YOU DON'T SIGN PACKAGES (except international orders like EMS) domestically especially for first class and priority mail packages.

'Do not sign for anything. Find a different vendor. When you sign you can instantly go to jail if customs came in contact with it'

That guy is absolutely correct. If a USPIP conduct a Controlled Delivery and you sign the package: all of the plausible deniability is thrown out of the window instantly. It's an admission of guilt and LE knows it! Secondly, use your real name and address - it enhances your plausible deniability. LEO cannot arrest you if you don't sign the package that's supposedly not yours - they cannot prove it unless if you sign for it."

I don't know why people keep spreading this bad information. No, it isn't. People are asked to sign for clearnet packages all the time and do so without a second thought, regardless of whether they remember what they ordered. Hell, sometimes people get unsolicited packages. In a hypothetical situation where someone sends you drugs without your knowledge, you're not going to be convicted because you unwittingly signed for a drug-filled package. Signing for a package is simply a confirmation of receipt, not a confirmation that you ordered whatever it is you're signing for. It doesn't prove anything.

Furthermore, refusal to sign isn't going to stop them from conducting the controlled delivery.

Man, I order so much stuff of Newegg, ncix, Amazon etc, and virtually any domestic package I get that won't fit in the mailbox is left with a slip that says pick up at post office, and they always need a signature. Always. For stuff coming with Canada post especially.

I don't know where all this "never sign for packages" is coming from. 9/10 orders, international or domestic, when it's a parcel that doesn't fit in the mailbox, requires a signature.
