What the fuck is going on here with these Alpha Bay complaints?

New accounts claiming their BTC never got added to their account, without any proof, the alpha bay support account shows up in the comments and OP is never heard from again.

Is someone trying to destroy alpha bay or is my hat made from tin foil? If this post is deleted it confirms there's a conspiracy

People think "Hmm.. I have a weird situation, shall I post it public.. well maybe later". Then see 1 complain post, and think "Then me too!" and so starts a snowball of complaints.

MODS should take these posts and put them into an alphabay scam accusation sub with the DNM sub. Its getting ridiculous to keep seeing the same dumb ass posts daily. Same with PO box questions. We should all make a list of all the things to keep out from the main page because it fills it with so much useless shit.

Is someone trying to destroy alpha bay

yes, bigmuscles. /s

why would we delete your post? we flair all posts that just contain accusations without proof as speculation/no proof or similar. if op can actually provide proof then we will change that flair.

Same thing here

the op your talking about commented on that one as well. I'm pretty sure it's the same guy who's also doing this since he commented on the post you're talking about.

Just a big retarded shill fest from some kid who thinks he can score big I feel

Nobody is trying to destroy alpha (nothing of value would be lost); it's just a surge of autists screeching, looking for BTC, despite their ineptitude.

From what I've noticed it's mostly either been ignorant shitheels who are too stupid to read and use basic OPSEC, annoying shills who seem to want to direct traffic to other markets, or people who have been caught in between the bad advice of one of the two former groups.

AB has had some issues, but overall it is by far the best market with the widest variety of items and vendors.

A lot of the people complaining about shit like "My BTC never showed up" aren't even aware of the current issues with the blockchain, aka the source of all BTC transactions. The blockchain is backed up, so any transactions with the default/minimum transaction fees are taking hours, sometimes days to confirm even once. The process is complicated even further for those who tumble their coins, because tumbling relies on multiple transactions confirming from multiple sources. Simply using good OPSEC with your own wallet and adding "high" fees of .001 to .005 btc is enough to get your transactions confirming within an hour or less though.

Then there are the people shouting "AB SCAMMED ME!" because they were silly enough to follow a phishing link and not wise enough to set up 2-FA and other protections when first setting up their account. Simply put, if you put proper 2FA and pin protection on your account when setting up, and do not give your private key to anyone else or lose it, it is nigh impossible for anyone short of nation sponsored adversaries to compromise your account in such a way. Sure, AB could in theory take off with all the coins and leave everybody eating dirt, but so far they seem smart enough to realize it is much more profitable and in their interest to keep a legit market running.

You all need to calm the fuck down a bit.

Look, alphabay has problems. I know it, you know it, everyone knows it. I've personally been a victim of their nonsense. They had their private messages vulnerability again that got people fucked.

But at the end of the day, everybody is gonna keep using it.

Everybody knows that alphabay is full of thieves of scammers, from the bottom to the top.

That's not the question. The question is how often does it happen?

And the answer is- infrequent enough, and to the stupidest people, that it doesn't matter. If they are up and running, they will be used.
