I was just surfing the web and apparently LE has a tool to
alerts law enforcement if active encryption is running on a system so that investigators can act to preserve evidence that would be lost if the system were shut down.
If your a high risk target, to maintain proper opsec you should never talk about your security setup. If LE is aware of your setup, they can plan the arrest accordingly.
In addition, they have Afterwake, which dumps memory after warm and cold boots. This makes Cold boot attack script kiddy stuff and its available to the public.
Tails in live mode is resilient to this attack, so its a must for any large vendor.
I'd imagine encrypting your RAM would also prevent Afterwake from being useful, but this is outside of the scope of the average user.
Everyone should be encrypting everything they can. HDD, SSD, mobile devices, network traffic, communications, etc. Even if you aren't using DNMs and just regular web browsing, in this day and age encryption is a must. Without getting too political, world leaders have already shown a hatred for encryption methods, and have even stated they want to ban it outside of military use. We can't allow this to happen.
