Bitcoin transfer fees

I bought £100 etherum the other day, converged it to btc, sent it to a tumbler which I think was Evercoin. From here I sent it to my electrum. The fees were £25 in total so I ended up with £75< worth of btc in my account.

My question is however, is there a higher charge the more btc/Monero you transfer around?

My fees this week haven't been higher than $1, every transaction confirmed within 5 minutes. You're probably not using a segwit wallet or you're using an exchange which still hasn't implemented segwit.

in general no. no matter how much bitcoin you send, the fee is always the same. only if your coins are stored in more than 1 address, you might pay more since the size of the transaction grows.
