IS THERE ANYWAY TO BRING THE SMELL OUT?

I get beautiful buds from the DNM, but alot of times when I get my buds it doesn't smell Loud. i have to squeeze the buds or break them open in order to smell the goodness. I don't know anything about growing but i was wondering if the lack of smell could have something to do with the curing process. Most of the buds i get are very fresh, so i'm thinking because of high demand they were sent out early.

HERE'S MY QUESTION... Can I do something myself to bring out the smell and taste of bud? maybe putting it in a jar for a long time or maybe letting it dry some? IDK Any suggestions and any merit to my thoughts on it being under cured??

a lot of the bud around here gets sold poorly trimmed and poorly cured

and i honestly have never managed to get it smelling good.

everyone will tell you to put it in a jar and burp it. i've done that loads of times for varying lengths up to a couple of months

the smell never improves

so i know exactly what you're talking about and as far as I know you won't get the smell back (until you break it up or grind it)

It was likely dried too quickly.

Take an orange or a lemon and take the peel off. Place it in a mason jar in a coffee filter or something for about 4 hours. Your bud will plump up and become moist again. Then start to cure it in jars. You're basically restarting the curing process.

I've always notice this along with a more smokey taste after pulling them out of the box as well. I assume this is because the buds are kept in plastic bag for a week at a time. Your suggestion of sending out undercured buds because of demand seems to be possible too.

Either way curing it in a jar for a few days seems to fix this. The longer the better.

Put them in jars. Sometimes when they get over-vacuum sealed it sucks the smell right out. A quick cure in a jar usually brings them back to life. If that doesn't work your buds might just be improperly cured to begin with.

Yeah, it's definitely the curing or something. When I unseal that vacuum sealed bud, my whole room smells of dank immediately.

Most of the time lack of smell comes from people trimming wet. Most machine trims require wet bud and even the stinkest bud when trimmed wet completely loose it's smell. Alot of farms still use people to trim but machine trimming is becoming more popular and with that the sMell On the outside degrades. Loud (god I Hate that word) smelling bud will still reek even after sitting in a vacuum pack for multiple weeks if it didn't reek dry to begin with it won't. My $0.02

Doesn't happen if you buy gas. If you have to try to make your bud smell good, it's not good.

Same here. I've recently learned that it is terpenes that contribute to the smell, but also to the high and to the variety of effects that strains can have. A 50/50 mix of terpenes and THC is more potent that pure THC alone. So when we get these bland buds, we're missing out on the nuances of the strain.

I want the sticky icky. The smelly-smelly.

Had a buddy one time that put a banana peel in a bag of mids for a week and sold that shit as some kinda tropical banana kush. Best part is that it actually tasted really good.

I was a weed grower and dealer. As soon as I saw a customer judging weed by how much it stinks, I knew I had a sucker on my hands.

When weed is first harvested, it reaks to high heaven. Its full of volatile oils and water, dark green in colour, and if its dried too fast the green chlorophyl taste is locked in.

Chlorophyl and nitrogenous compounds are gradually broken down with curing to simple sugars and gasses. It stops smoking like a burning car tyre full of teabags and tastes smooth and ganja-y.

Generally, indicas stink more than sativas. They both have THC (which gets you high), but indicas have more CBD (which gets you stoned and sleepy). A pure THC high is energetic, creative and a little trippy, but indicas produce heavier buds and are cheaper to grow indoors.

Given a choice, I generally go for the least-stinky weed because its generally better in every respect.

The buds I get are amazing, it just depends on how much work the vendor puts in.

In the end it all gets you high the same, compacted or not.
