How many people here have not been scammed?

It seems like a lot of people in these forums have been scammed or lost money at least once. I have made between 20-30 transactions on DNMs and about 20 on LBC and the worst thing that has happened to me is that I received weak product once or twice.

I thought I was scammed once when I had to wait a month for a delivery, but in the end it did arrive. Even now with the shut down of Agora I had only $4 USD in the account, so I didn't bother withdrawing it, and I think I had $14 in Black Bank when it closed. All in all, I'd say I've been fairly lucky, or smart, whichever.

What I was wondering is how many other people here have managed to avoid the pitfalls this underworld?

if you've been scammed or lost money feel free to comment. I'm curious about how much, where or by who and how.

Getting scammed is a right of passage. Fool me once....

The best way to really learn a lesson is to screw up and figure out what went wrong. I have been scammed 3-4 times.

Be careful with direct deals unless the vendor is legendary status, and even then you really never know what kind of crazy shit might happen. I do some direct deals because of long standing partnerships, and I still realize it is a gamble.

Fuck FE sales. I'm sorry, but that spur of the moment FE sale for a ridiculous discount is all to often a scam. I will FE for vendors that require it, but I really do not like to. I never spend more than I can lose, but it still fucking hurts to lose that shit.

Prices look to good to be true? They probably are. You normally will not want the cheapest shit anyway because of quality concerns, but some vendors really do have awesome prices. Like all those NL MDMA vendors. In general, good vendors in the same regions tend to have similar price/quality ratio.

Always make sure you read the vendors reship/refund policy too. I do not use any no refund/reship vendors unless it is a small order. I try to use escrow when I can, but I would love to see markets and vendors doing partial FE. Give the vendor his cost back up front, and then give him his profit after everything is complete. I think it seems pretty fair for everyone.

That's just some common sense stuff I guess, but its what I have experienced. I probably fucked up more than I can recall, but I am still learning every day.

Sheep Market got my ass for $300 with the exit scam.

[2 Points] throw_awayy_hoo:

someone got me for $100 once (BIC on Agora, fucker) , but other than that I only lost like $1 on BlackBank. I feel pretty damn lucky considering the amount of buys I've done, many of which have been international.

I also FE more often than not so I can get discounts. FEing is what fucked me for the $100. I've probably spent close to $3,000 since March.

[2 Points] None:

lost the 70$ I made from buying bitcoin and watching it hit 1000$ to the sheep marketplace scam. I was so hyped to have made money "in the bitcoin stock market" just to lose it all. Bittersweet day. Other than that, a couple underdosed products and "50% refunds" on orders that never made it to my house.

[2 Points] Dopecitydopedopecity:

Made about 8-11 purchases, never lost a dollar. FE 90% of the time too due to the product I got.

[2 Points] DickClarkFive:

Worst I got was PandaExpress. He was one of the most trusted vendors, been around for years. He decided to exit scam, right before black bank went under... I think that was just a coincidence of timing, doubt he had any inside knowledge of the BB Scam.

I placed a 50$ order with PE 2 weeks before BB went under. Plenty of time for it to be shipped. It never arrived and PE was never heard from again.

I lost about 50 cents in my acount when BB went under. about 1$ when Evo went down. I moved the 35 cents I had in my Agora account when the notice went up, but I havn't seen it yet. Check in my profile and it showed it was in line for preprocessing, but it never arrived... not stressing 35 cents.

The only other time I got scammed, which I'm embarrassed to even admit was years ago, when I first discovered Tor, DNM and bitcoin. I sent 20$ or so to a tor wallet on one of the tor scam lists. Neadless to say never saw it again. I was still learning how bitcoin worked back then.

Looking at the wallet of that tor wallet scam, and they've made millions off it over the years. Such a simple scam with almost no risk, and they were racking in the cash. Maybe today with more info and newbie guides around businesses isn't as good.

So, I guess I can say I've been relatively lucky. I've also gotten a couple of double orders by accident from vendors. Like they shipped it, then due to bad paper work, order tracking, shipped me another package of the exact same thing. So it evened out.

I've completed close to 100 deals and haven't lost a single coin and I have used around 10-15 different vendors. It's a little bit of luck and a lot a bit of knowledge thanks to constantly hanging around here and researching. This subreddit is a godsend to avoid being scammed if you take your time and read and learn to use the search function.

[2 Points] PartialTerror:

I dont know how one can get scammed when we have comments and voting systems. You really need to be ether stupid and ignoring those signs or really have bad luck to pick a exit scam.

[1 Points] bobbiggs69:

I spent over $15,000 on SR1 and then probably half that on other markets until I stopped buying and I have never been scammed.

[1 Points] mollymydarling:

I've never been scammed after about a dozen Agora transactions (several FE, several from brand new vendors, the rest from popular/reliable vendors).

[1 Points] hdheuud:

I have lost, in total, about $30. I'll chalk it up to paying fees to using these markets for so long

[1 Points] rappercake:

I have maybe 3-4 times, but most were from market exit scams. Probably lost maybe $260 total.

[1 Points] footlockervip:

never scammed.. came close once but it was refunded then i received the package.

[1 Points] None:

I think I got scammed on my first and only dnm so far...that mdma I got seemed pretty damn weak.

[1 Points] shitbrik:

I think i had maybe 3$ in evo when it scammed all my vendors have pulled through, one was missing and got a reship. and then the original arrived a month later . So I have above 100% success rate ordering

[1 Points] hangbellybroad:

I have only lost money when a market was seized, or shutdown without warning. About $12 on SR1, another $135 on SR2, had an order in escrow, vendor couldn't get money so he didn't ship, then Evolution, had another $60 or so in escrow, it went down literally about 3 hours after I sent the btc. No scams, just bad luck. Considering what I have ordered, I am happy to write this amount off as a cost of doing business. I have also been ordering various Rx pills from clearnet pharmacies over the last 12 years or so, including deals arranged through unencrypted email, paying Western Union, then hoping for the best, never got scammed and always received good stuff.

[1 Points] gwernisthenewpine:

Scammed in general? I've lost five figures to those below me from having no other choice but to front. I also learned my lesson fast and hard when SR1 was seized that scammers can look authentic and that PGP key verification was a must and feedback manipulation is a strong possibility. In retrospect, I guess the original Silk Road was like a community with training wheels.. 99%+ of the community was just amazed at the concept of this whole thing working, no one thought there was any need to take advantage/prey upon one another just yet. Sorry /endramble

[1 Points] derpster00:

i got scammed by The_L, but it was only like five bucks. I had some extra btc sitting around in my agora wallet and figured I'd take a shot on a "sample" listing that turned out to be a total scam.

[1 Points] The_Grid_Is_Up:

NBS

[1 Points] obsidianchao:

Free sample from CO got jacked by the feds and got my a love letter, but otherwise never. Been around longer than most people here it seems, too.

[1 Points] redditkindasuckshuh:

Out of maybe 35-40 orders I lost one for $40 due to SR2 going down.

[1 Points] sillysally11:

I lost 30 when BB exited. Other than that, I just had a sample not show.

[1 Points] SoulUndead:

~$300 in escrow. Placed an order with Stealthbomber not too long before the Evolution exit scammed happened, he had PLENTY of time to send it out. This is when people weren't receiving their packs. I believe he was profiled, hence his location+stealth change.

Since there was no proof of my order SB offered me a pretty nice deal for the same quantity, which I guess is fair. If he had some sort of records of my order I would be a little worried.

[1 Points] young_k:

Got some bunk bars once. Never lost money from not receiving a package though...knock on wood.

[1 Points] AlwaysDankrupt:

I was only scammed way back in the day of SR1. Marijuanaismymuse and Kwikemart - both selective scammers. since then, everything has been all good. knock on wood

i doubt most of you guys even remember those vendors. good times.

there was also this one time where i thought i was scammed by 2 different vendors, because my packages didn't arrive for over a month. but a while later, my neighbor knocked at my door and said he had some packages that were supposed to be delivered to me. turns out the postal guy delivered to the wrong address. i had a good rest of the night ;)

[1 Points] marshmellowclouds420:

Ive lost over $850, be careful looking for lucy

[1 Points] ikozehh:

I have about 20 successful buys, have not been scammed once and that includes international and domestic deals. Only time I've lost money is I put £70 on evolution and made a couple of orders only about 2 hours before they ran off so the vendors wouldn't honour the purchase as they didn't even get a chance to see that I had placed an order, which I didn't expect them to. All in all the money and time I've saved ordering from dnms was worth that £70 loss.

[1 Points] NotGCHQBro:

Lost about $7 worth of BTC when Evo pulled their exit scam. Have another $5 left in Agora that I won't bother to withdraw. Never had a product not show / all my packs have come either on weight or usually slightly over. I'd say 80-90% my orders are FE only yet never been scammed. Research kids do it :)

[1 Points] None:

I've never been scammed but I read every review first and never fe

[1 Points] None:

Lost 750 from evo, and 650 from Usdank. Back to back... Atleast USDAnk refunded me months later...

[1 Points] bigassnug:

It'll happen. Some XTC vendor on SR1. Had some BTC in escrow when BTC plummeted. Never received anything (no love letter, either. it was (lower-end) distribution amts). Got a 50% refund, which was less than 50% when you take into account BTC dropped. Not bad of a ROI for a vendor who didn't send anything at all.

[1 Points] GrandMasta216:

Very similar situation to OP, about 20-30 transactions no issues whatsoever. Received every produc . Tested everyone, all were what I ordered. Yay!

[1 Points] TheSwolestBro:

You can add me to that list.

[1 Points] vaperman1:

I've been ordering since SR1 and never been scammed after probably 20 to 30 orders. Ordered from EVO, BB, Sheep (can't believe I even used that POS), BMR, AG, MEM, Pandora, probably another I can't think of. As others have said, key is research and spending your coin on those with a good rep and NEVER FE if you don't have some history with a vendor, and even then you have to question it from time to time. Only coin I ever lost was miniscule amounts on the markets that exit scammed like EVO, Sheep and BB.

[1 Points] WonkyWarrior:

Only recently have I been scammed, of course it was for somewhat of a large order to, such bullshit.

[1 Points] rogueXleader:

I've gotten the raw end of a few deals on quality or weight, but I've never had anything fail to show. I make sure to do my research outside of the markets and tend to open a line of communication with new vendors to me before I ever order. A lot of the bullshitters aren't even good at it, and you'll pick up on it in conversation

[1 Points] StrictlyForResearch:

It's pretty easy to avoid being scammed

I've been tempted to FE for small orders around $20, but even then it felt dirty and wrong.

[1 Points] gg3ico:

I ordered some mdma from soldier on evo some time last year and that shit tested right but i think it was mephedrone cause it was fucking bunk. his prices were to good to be true and his stealth sucked dick.

I ordered before checking him out on here first and it was all just cause price. last time i ever did that

[0 Points] samwhiskey:

I got scammed for about a dollar on shipping for a MDMA poll sample, and an eighth of weed. The weed ended up as a love letter from Colorado. Nothin big.

[-2 Points] None:

i had $10 in my evo wallet :( rip
