What's the general consensus on international shipping to US these days?

If this question would be better geared for another sub, let me know and I'll move it.

Anyways, today I realized that I have been sitting on a very dumb potential opsec problem for quite some time. For some reason, after I placed my first few orders, and felt comfortable with the general operation of safely placing an order, I stopped following any DNM related news or discussion, outside of major events like big markets falling. Obviously, this isn't a good idea, and could have lead to potential issues at some point, if I just missed some important change in standard opsec procedure. I don't expect anybody to catch me up on major changes in the last few years, cause I can do that myself with a few hours of research, but I had one question I wanted to get peoples opinions on.

4 years ago, when I first starting using DNMs, the general advice I got in terms of international shipping, was that it was a bad idea with most vendors/substances, unless you didn't mind a bit of risk. However, it could still be done safely, by the average user, if it was something easily concealable (mainly LSD, or other blotters), and if it was also done through a major trusted vendor, with a good track record.

Now, I've been doing things the same way for 4 years, ignorant of any changes that have probably happened. A big change that I assume would have happened with the rise in popularity of DNMs, is that international shipping would have gotten even more risky than it was before. Can anybody confirm/deny this? Basically, is international shipping now considered too risky for the average user, or is it still viable, assuming you follow the same basic rules as before?

At the very least, I look at it this way: If I can avoid the scrutiny of the customs process by ordering domestically, then why wouldn't I do that ?! Better safe than sorry. I've NEVER ordered overseas though - I just wouldn't recommend it.

Its not worth it. Have you ever watched those border protection shows on youtube? At mail customs, they regularly have dogs sniff packages and xray ALL packages. If even the slightest thing comes up as suspicious, they'll open your package, because they CAN, unlike domestic packages in the US, which are protected by 4th amendment requiring a warrant to open your package.
