Should Fentanyl and its analogues be sold on DNMs?

In light of the Montfort mistake, and now this new vendor mistake resulting in an OD, I was thinking about this and really couldnt come up with a definitive opinion. Next to actual poisons this shit is damn near as fatal as some of the most deadly shit out there, ODs related to DNMs are not helping the cause of keeping heat off them. So I started wondering if maybe they should keep them off like other deadly items.

Im curious about others opinions.

Every substance is dangerous. The problem is in psychology - quantity is relative, especially in the nature of drug abuse and tolerance. However, for the inexperienced (and I use this term to refer to those who, as I've come to believe, in modern times... probably don't understand truly what that means), tolerance is when you irritatingly have to double up after a fun weekend. To those who are aware of the reality - tolerance is when you've gone to using in a day what you once used in a week (or month).

I think for markets to ultimately succeed there will need to be some amount of research into a psychologically valid method of drawing attention to a warning and some quick distraction-avoiding information regarding dosages. However, it's important that the pharmaceutical industry has spent billions trying to solve that very problem too... and so far they haven't.

Fentanyl is one of the biggest examples of that very problem: it has an extremely hard dosage schedule - people don't quite understand it. Has to do with the fact that ยต means (correction:) 0.000001, and its dosages are measured as such. The hospital will only give .2-.4mcg prior to surgery in extreme situations. Most of the time, it's prescribed in patches that deliver .25, .5, .75 and 1mcg per hour. Even those are confusing to most, and the numbering (100 especially) tends to confuse the people who encounter them and don't think to read. Edited to fix Measurments - Take this as an obvious example of how easy it is to fuck it up

Fentanyl is not made for the kid that enjoys throwing down a few vicodin here or there. It's not even meant for the kid that bangs a stamp of heroin here or there. However, the same goes for the freshman in college cramming for mid terms who buys pilled meth instead of adderal. The gap may not be as extreme in its dosage, but for a stupid kid risk is itself equally as relative.

While pointing to relative terms, I think its important to also consider the relative nature of danger. This goes strongly with both amphetamines and opiates: the real list of analogues is astoundingly long, and some of those aren't all that strong but their risks are disturbing. And yet, we have those for sale and increasing in popularity. If you start to question something which actually has medical purpose, I think you should examine some of the items that do not as well.

At the end of the day, no matter how good you make the warning, no matter how much you try to protect, there is no force greater than stupidity. And, at the end of the day, if you take it away... isn't that why we wanted the freedom of a market in the first place? To not have someone else tell us what is and what isn't safe for us to use?

(Edit: Measurements off by a large amount. Downside to posting on too little sleep.)

Can compare heroin to fent for me? I've only tried heroin, would taking a dose of heroin be the same kind of high as taking an equally potent dose of fent?

[2 Points] LedLevee:

I'm against regulating anything. Next we decide that heroin shouldn't be allowed, or crack. Neither of those are my drugs and I consider both extremely harmful, but I don't want to ban them because I think the customer is responsible.

If you can afford stuff, you can afford a test kit.

[2 Points] throw_awayy_hoo:

No, fentanyl should not be banned. Responsibility lies with the user. There are people out there who need fentanyl medicinally too.

For Christ's sake I've tried fent a hundred times and I'm still breathing lol. It's hard to overdose if you're aware of what you're doing..

[2 Points] long_wang_big_balls:

It's the Dark Net. Banning any analogue would go against the whole premise of the dark net. So, no. It's down to the buyer to test their shit and not be so irresponsible. Your getting drugs delivered from someone you don't know. Exercise some common sense.

[1 Points] Underthearchway:

Lots of drugs are fucking dangerous.

Don't censor the markets because of the fucking stupidity of people not to check there shit.

Maybe I want to buy Fent. Maybe I am not a fuckwit. Maybe I practice harm reduction.

Don't bring everything to the lowest common denominator.

[1 Points] GrandWizardsLair:

The Grand Wizard would rather not see fake presses using fentanyl. People knowingly buying fentanyl (should) understand the risks involved. Somebody buying a fent press made to look like an Oxy 80 is a whole different game -- and even the most diligent pressed-pill reseller can't guarantee his customers will be honest with all their customers etc. etc. etc.

That being said, the Grand Wizard also knows how much word his weight carries amongst DNM administrators. We can call for bans until we're blue in the face. So long as there are people looking to buy fent there will be people selling it.

[0 Points] hamilted:

IMO fent and anything else that strength should not be easy to acquire. When I got it the first time I only shared it with a friend who could eat roxy 30s and thus had a decent tolerance but after his first his his body went limp and I was too high to check his heart and breathing. There's also stuff like opana/dillys that get much stronger depending on ROA. I think a lot of this stuff can be argued either way but in the case of fent it is way too dangerous in the wrong hands.
