It's time for change

I know theres no chance in this not getting removed but there's been a lot of drama and corruption as of late. The sub has went down hill and become full of shit under this current mod team. This sub used to be a pillar of the darknet and a place you could meet up with other players and make move. Now it's full of can I get molly sent to my mom's house questions. It's also becoming increasingly apparent that a lot of bullshit is going on behind the scenes and the moderation seems far from neutral. In my opinion they should have been replaced after Astrid went off the deep end. The purpose of this post isn't to slam the mod team but to start a discussion. We need guidance from experts and not 22 yr olds. (Oops) if you feel as I do than make your voice heard. As much as this may suprise them, they don't own this sub or the darknet

I'm going to address each of your points.

I know theres no chance in this not getting removed

Because we just remove whatever we want all willy nilly. Sigh

corruption as of late

evidence to support such a claim?

full of shit under this current mod team.

I really wish we could just disable CSS and all the mods leave for two weeks. You have no idea of how much cleaning is done on an hourly basis here man.

Now it's full of can I get molly sent to my mom's house questions.

An annoying and dumb question but not against the rules. So you're blaming the mods for the users bad postings?

It's also becoming increasingly apparent that a lot of bullshit is going on behind the scenes and the moderation seems far from neutral.

again, 0 evidence. So far we have nothing but baseless accusations that we are "corrupt" even tho the people "paying" us clearly have hate threads on the main page.

In my opinion they should have been replaced after Astrid went off the deep end.

How new are you? I dont think MLP, jay, ziz1, sap ,aqax or ME were mods during the astrid fiasco? so you have 3 current mods who were part of the mod team during that and 6 that weren't. ???

Heres a crazy idea. BE the change you want. How about people start ACTUALLY using the report button for what its ment for and NOT for when they get in pissing arguments with each other. 20% of the time it's actually used properly and It alerts us to a problem very fast. 20% of the time its two people calling each other names and both reporting every single comment each other has as "child porn" or "fucking faggot" and then the 60% of the time left over it actually ISN'T USED. Maybe if users actually helped and became the change they wanted the sub would go up in overall quality. Instead people post complaints and accusations with 0 evidence and mope around doin jack shit.

[9 Points] GandalfTheEnt:

It's the user base man. The mods do a great job here but recently the people posting to this sub are not researching anything about the dnms and just posting the same shit over and over.

Also I've seen no evidence of any bribery or anything behind the scenes. Just speculative shitposts from the toxic user base.

[1 Points] WolfID:

Until there is a viable alternative I don't see people moving. All the things mentioned in the post would be nice, but who will do this? Free of charge? I doubt it. And who will pay their salary?

The sub exists for discussion and information, no one has offered better options for these needs as of yet.

This shit happens EVERY TIME a market goes down/exist scams. It is not the mods fault. It is the users fault. Everybody is running around like chickens with their heads cut off looking for somebody to blame for the current situation and making up unsubstantiated theories to explain the current situation. How the hell is it the mods fault what users decide to post? Just like this pointless, piece of shit, uncorroborated, sensationalist, drama-inciting post you made, the mods have no choice but to leave it be because it doesn't break any of the rules. As for this theory that the mods are biased, corrupt, etc. Well, that's all it is- a theory- and that's all it will be until somebody provides evidence. Alas, sadly, many people (like yourself) don't require evidence before they jump to conclusions and begin pointing fingers (I hope to god you are never a juror). So go ahead and waste your (and others) time and energy obsessing over all the possible conspiracies (don't forget your tin-foil hat). Can you imagine how nice this subreddit would be if all the users actually thought reasonably and logically instead of letting petty emotions drive their thinking and posting?

I can't believe I feel like I need to touch on the moderator hate thing again. This always happens whenever there's drama, the users seem to think everything is the mods fault. Hence the cheeky banner I made last night.

In case you aren't aware, we're just moderators. We're like regular members of the community that have extra responsibilities to keep things in check. However, what a lot of you don't realize is that we get way more traffic than other subreddits our size. Due to the nature of the topic of this subreddit there's also a lot more moderation that needs to be done. To give you some scope as to how much, we currently have nine moderators on the team. Three currently don't have the time to help out around here, leaving six. In the past 80 days, 26525 moderator actions have been performed. That's around 331 actions per day. /u/AutoModerator does sort of help out with this (4889 actions in the same time frame), but the majority of them (2516 actions) are thread removals that we have to manually approve or reject ourselves. There is also the current problem where two of the moderators (/u/ziz1 and /u/Jay-__) are doing the majority of the work. Combined they make 51% of total moderator actions. This is nuts.

reddit is a social platform. Everyone wants to complain about threads being removed when they just want to use their up and down votes, meanwhile they also complain about the content of posts not being removed. Does this make any sense to you guys? There's constant complaints about how this subreddit is going downhill, which I would have to slightly agree, but it is not the sole fault of the moderators. You guys share some of the blame as well. You complain about posts that break the rules aren't being removed, yet don't do anything yourselves to bring them to our attention. You complain about the quality of the submissions, yet fail to mention to the OPs of said threads that the quality isn't up to par to that you are looking for. You whine and moan about things yet you don't bring up any possible solutions. But no, this is all the moderators fault, right?

Then there's the constant accusations (from throwaway accounts) that the moderators are paid off. I personally don't even know how to deal with this, other than laugh while I look around my room at the cardboard boxes I have in place of actual furniture. They're nothing but baseless accusations thrown around with no merit, that do nothing for the community than to bring down the morale of the moderators that serve you even more. This SSBD debacle pissed us off as well, as we had no fucking idea this was going on until everyone was aware. It should have been brought to light immediately as it happened, but for some reason I can't explain it was just pushed under the rug.

Obviously with the nature of what we're doing here there's going to be some paranoia, and there's going to be some trust issues. I seriously can't blame any of you. But it gets tiring when users are persistently blaming us for this and that, when we know we didn't do any of it but can't do anything about it than say so. Just like how you have a limit, where you can only be pushed so much until you push back, we're the same way.

I guess that's all I have to say about this, and I'm hoping it doesn't fall on deaf ears. Like the OP says, if anyone has any recommendations on what we can do to help improve the subreddit we would love to hear it. But please remember that you guys play a part in the future of this community as well.

Finally someone else sees it. we need some serious change around here

There's already another dnm sub that's pretty active, although it's private/invite only.
