Young? Drugs? Curious as to what jail for a young man in Western Europe is like?

So i'd like to keep some details quiet, but I was sentenced to under 12 months in a UK youth prison for drugs offences. Prison, well, my time in there was short, only 4-5 months. If you have any questions I'd be glad to answer them If anyone wants proof I have 2 documents available which I'll post tonight

What class of drugs and how much were you caught/charged with?

How did the guards treat you? How did the inmates treat you?

What do you do in prison all day?

What was the food like?

What mistakes did you make? What would you do differently in hindsight?

What was the arrest like?

were you forced to engage in sexual intercourse by other inmate(s)?

[4 Points] SlappySpanBank:

Man that sounds like a slap on the wrist compared to US... I think 115g Cocaine is automatic 5 years in prison. Plus the gun charges you would most likely get on top of that...man you'd be fucked here.

I think the prisons are very different in different EU countries. I would much rather sit in a Norweigian or German prison than a French or a British.

Did you learn how to make a fifi and if so, did you toss it in with the rest of the laundry and let the trustees deal with it or did you acually take it apart and dispose of the lining first?

[1 Points] Wingnutcheese:

You got off lightly, was it your 1st offence? Maybe its because it was youth prison so u must of been under 18, who u snitch on lol

Anyway don't get caught next time. Hope u don't find it too hard getting a job my mate's have had trouble and just end up back in prison.

[1 Points] Klausar:

I would like you to take a quick minute and see if maybe I am right about a concern I have with how we deal with drugs in general. I have a theory that often times rehab, jail, and other controlled environments with like minded people is the absolute worst approach to the problem there is.

From personal experience, I can draw on a couple friends who were sent to rehab. The worst story was a friend, lets call him Mark. Mark was a decent student, but he was not an academic. Auto Body was his specialty, and this was something of a disappointment to his parents. His father was an executive at an international firm, his mom was a University of Chicago professor.

Mark's grades in everything but gym and PE had fallen, but given the direction being a vocational oriented student was pushing him this made some sense. His parents suspected drugs, and after numerous invasions of his privacy, numerous drug tests, they caught him with the leftovers of an eighth of weed. Off to rehab he went.

The Mark who came out of rehab was nothing like the Mark who went in. In rehab he met an entire new crowd of sources, and a new array of drugs. Within a month of coming home he applied his new skills and removed all of the contents of his father's Placydil pills, replaced it with asprin, and developed a quick pill habit to go with his occasional weed use. He then stole the insides of his mom's Tuinal when the Placydil ran out, and a deviant was born.

Off to rehab again, and his father was soon hospital bound. thinking the Placydil wasn't working, he started taking three, four, sometimes five at a time. Not a problem when he was taking the pills with the harmless (dexatrim, asprin, whatever Mark could find) replacements, but a broken collar bone from passing out while driving when he downed 5 real pills from a new prescription.

This was 30 years ago. Mark died about 25 years ago. Maybe this was his destiny, but maybe he would have ended up like most of the rest of us; occasionally high for a while, then a 6 beer on weekend dad.

What is your take on your experience, and am I way off base?

Appreciate you doing this post, it's good to see it from the eyes of someone who's been caught and had the experienced.

If you could go back, would you change what you'd done? Also how did it get to the point of you having so much Coke? Guessing it was to do with dealing. Lastly, damn man you got pretty lucky. So much Coke and only a few months time, nice one.

Oh my god you euro trash have it so good. I did 3 years on a six year sentence in U.S. prison for possession of just 4 pills of molly they found after a traffic stop.

I'd say I'm gonna move to Britain but I can't get a passport now.
