Best SMALLEST CHEAPEST machine to run Whonix only

I want to purchase a machine to dedicate to this sort of thing,

i want it to only run whonix and not in VM just as standard i want it to be small and portable & i want it to be relatively cheap so i can throw it if needed and not feel bad. "A Burner" if you will.

i have experience using whonix in VM but if someone could recommend the best, smallest, cheapest netbook/laptop that will run whonix effectively (not really slow) and the basic stuff it needs as the main operating system. and not break the bank. i would be hugely appreciative.

Thanks for any help

how about a used laptop like a dell latitude or toshiba satellite off craigslist? pay in cash, take out the harddrive, done. and why whonix over tails? just curious

I got a laptop for $250 cash on craigslist that served my purposes very well. Now that I plan on operating a multifaceted business through the DNM, my team will be using raspberry pi configurations. They are very cheap and if you expect a lot of heat they're definitely the way to go.

Whonix is designed to work in a virtual machine, unless you are going to use two machines at once, one for gateway and one for workstation, which is doable. but in that case it wouldn't be very portable.

none the less, i managed to pick up a DELL LATITUDE E6410 for less than £100 on Ebay and its capable of running both the gateway and workstation without issue.
