Received empty damaged box

I'm looking for some advice on what to make of this:

I recently received a 2 day priority package on day 3 (which is pretty normal). Tracking showed: * Arrived at origin facility * In transit to destination * Arrived at PO * Delivered

There was no scan when it left the origin and there was no scan when it arrived at the regional sorting facility. Again, I expect there to be weirdness with USPS tracking so I don't know if I should read into it.

But I was pretty shocked when it came in my mailbox like this:

The other side of the box says "RECEIVED UNSEALED" and "RECEIVED WITHOUT CONTENTS", stamped by the regional sorting facility.

Looking at the box it appears that it was crushed, but also that someone tore open the side. It seems if this were done by a postal inspector then the process would be more methodical. And why would they bother to deliver anything at all in that case? You all know more than me, though. What do you think of this?

they delivered it to spare themselves the headache. this way, you can take up the issue with the seller. they did their job already (sorta).

I wouldn't necessarily be worried about legal trouble, rather a sticky fingered employee who has his eyes on anything sent to your address.

Wait for a lady at the r/PostmanWives to write "Received a Stoned Husband" so you know where your pack @

Burn the adress and move to a new vendor. Cut the loss, you'll make it riiiight back !

Postal worker probably jacked your stuff. It's pretty easy to profile packages if you know what you're looking for and most of the people who handle your mail are no longer USPS employees.

What vendor did you order from? Better let them know as well, to upgrade their ospec
