Does Shilling increase sales to vendors?

I'm sure it does especially to noobs and low hanging fruit types. Personally if I notice shilling for a particular vendor I'd be much more inclined to avoid them in favor of a vendor that quietly and humbly goes about their business with their product and service speaking for them. A lot of shilling is pretty obvious and easy to spot and even the more subtle stuff becomes easier with experience. To me shilling indicates a lack of integrity and personal concern for the customer and is a big turn off to me as a consumer in all areas of life.

I think it increases sales for shitty vendors, who have previous negative feedback or none at all. If you have a product people want, they will buy out all your stock before you can get more.

Sure, ever heard the saying "there's no such thing as bad publicity" ?
It applies here, indeed. Even if shills are called out, everyone is talking about that vendor!

If done properly.
Its very easy to appear to be a good vendor if you put in time and have ~5 BTC that is constantly funneled through the market in various amounts of sale. Its the template for every quick pump and dump exit scam.
Sure does. So do fake accounts and orders. Mrbiz on nucleus has a bunch of fake accounts he buries negative feedback with. Look for variation in the language and punctuation of buyer feedbacks before deciding the source is legit.
