I ordered something to a new address and just realized there is no mailbox in front of the house. Will it be dropped at the door?

Or should I put a box out front or something?

Buy a mailbox , can you imagine coming home to find ur pack ripped apart by a stray dog

Well, shit... This would be a good opportunity to go down to the home depot and buy one of those fancy secure locking mailboxes. No worrying about stolen packs ever again

Yes, it will probably be dropped on the front porch.

Are you sure you don't have a mailbox? Where do first class letters, bills, bank statements, and magazines etc get dropped off?

If your mailman is anything like mine they'll just leave it on the sidewalk for any random high school kid walking home to steal

They'll be more than happy to wait until your home and deliver it in person to you. Don't forget to sign for it as well!

I was renting a house one time that didn't have a mailbox and they would not deliver my packages. I had to go to the USPS building to collect all my parcels. Reason given: no mailbox. (even though some of the packages were too big for a mailbox if I had one)

I don't have a mailbox at my house...there's a community one across the street.

Check all around your house. My upstairs neighbor's mailbox turned out to be bolted to the stairs around back, practically hidden from sight. USPS knew it was there, though, and that's the only place they would leave stuff.

Also try asking your landlord. He should know if and where there is one.
