Do you ever tip your vendor?

Do you ever give certain vendors a tip for appreciation on orders? Either by a tip listing (usually like $5 - $7) or choosing a more expensive shipping option so they could keep the change, something to that effect?

I usually tip 2 specific vendors I use on occasion for higher priced items. One has a tip listing, the other I just double up on shipping so they could keep $7 from it for themselves. Both generally due to just an overall amazing experience, customer service down to product.

no... they are already making a profit

I introduced a friend to my RL dealer once and he tipped him after his first buy. It was a cringe worthy moment for both my dealer and I. Just makes you look like a busta, just my 0.2

I'll tip good service by using them again.

There's a couple vendors that have excellent customer service, to the point that I'd definitely tip

Yes. And tip your postal carrier. It goes a long way.

I have never tipped, but I have FE'd when it wasn't required. It was just after Sheep and a bunch of other markets had exit scammed. The vendor was new to me, but had a fine reputation. I left her note that said I'd FE'd because I thought she was more in danger of losing coin than I was. She thanked me, and the transaction went through fine, as expected.

A tip listing? What is this?

I've never heard of a tip listing? I've never tipped although I would for a particular vendor or two who've treated me well. I guess what I do now is FE them, its not required but a gesture of goodwill I think and it lets them pull coin out of the market ASAP and also avoid bitcoin devaluation risks. I think this might be considered a tip?

Like others have noted, I don't know if this would work out well IRL. It might be awkward unless it was more of a "don't worry about the change" sort of situation. But I think a vendor who has treated you well, went above and beyond, deserve some sort of extra compensation. I guess for me, I FE for that extra compensation as I've never heard of a tip listing. Or you could do like a bartender where you buy the bartender a drink, buy the dealer a line or something. LOL

I want to tip Teddyruckspin. If I ever get the chance, I will. This guy is an absolute sweetheart. Best vendor out there. I never write reviews in Reddit because I know some vendors don't want the publicity, but I'm pretty sure I've seen him around these parts. If you ever wonder between him and another vendor, go with him. I might even trust this guy to like watch my kids or make a bank deposit for me. Ha

Fucking Americans. And yes, I'm fairly confident that's who I'm talking to. Do you even realise the actual point of tipping? You know why tipping culture exists in the US - waiting staff are paid below minimum wage and employers expect customers to meet the difference. That's the main reason why its so prominent in the US and not elsewhere. Vendors don't need tips. They account for all their costs in their price - product costs, packaging, OPSEC, employee salaries etc because they don't expect tips and need to charge enough to meet their costs. They operate on the supply demand model. Do you tip clearnet online stores too? If you tip anywhere but in the US it's a less significant tip, that's for sure, but that's still to people who a) still don't have well paying jobs and b) give a good service. Vending tends to be pretty lucrative. By all means throw them extra business if you can afford it or make a recommendation but tipping? It's kinda patronising, they don't need your charity.
