?Leaving TOR Browser open overnight?

Is it "safe" to leave TOR browser open, logged into market for a while, say overnight? No chance anyone but me accesses the computer itself while it's TOR'd and logged in.

The reason is that I want to check something on the market later tonight when I may be sleeping, and it takes a while for me to mount my encrypted drive, boot TOR, pass DDOS verification, enter username/password, decrypt 2FA.

Thanks in advance.

Why leave yourself connected to a node for excessive periods of time? It may take you 5 minutes to get in every time, but dude.. Is cutting 3 minutes out of your routine worth risking opsec?

It shouldn't really be much of an issue. The riskiest part in your case, as far as I can figure, is having your encrypted volumes mounted, so that an Evil Maid attack or similar could occur and compromise your keys, but that's not a reasonable threat if you have decent physical security. Not to mention that you'd be pretty owned in such a case even if your stuff wasn't all mounted.

I personally wouldn't, but I have no real reason to say why, other than just extreme paranoia. What if cops come knocking? I mean, they shouldn't, since I keep a low profile and don't really do much to give them reason to do so, let alone enough evidence to get a warrant, but still. The idea of it would keep me awake at night.

I've left it open for months at a time. I'm still alive.

I'm curious about this too. Is it unsafe? Outside of someone physically looking at your PC, laptop, whatever...how is this poor opsec? Genuinely curious.

Speaker from a buyers perspective who purchases regular but personal amounts, I'm of the philosophy that the only real concern is on the post delivery end, if I ended up with a very douch-bag mailman for instance. No ones gonna hunt me down and hire sophisticated hackers to catch us small time buyers. If I was a vendor now that's a different story!

I do it on occasion, but try not to make a habit of it. The last thing you want is getting swatted and letting them find your encrypted shit already logged in.

I dont like it being open for longer than 30 minutes at a time.
