How do they actually prosecute you if you get caught buying?

So say I wanted to import some drugs. Say they get stopped at customs. How do they actually prove that the name and address on the package ordered them? Theoretically, anyone could have put my address on it, they could just be waiting outside my house waiting for the package to arrive.

So what do they do? I could just argue that I didn't order it, right? Or do they get benefit of the doubt and are allowed to search my house for other illegal substances and that's how I get caught? But then I can just order when I have nothing left, right?

I don't know, I just can't quite understand how this will work.

There is this beautiful talk on youtube i had seen some years back and from time to time i tend to rewatch it and now that i am thinking about it i may post it on here as its interesting and really shows you why they try and get you to say simple things and how they can then be flipped to fuck you even if you had absolutly nothing to do with anything. It starts out with a lawyer giving a 15-20 min speech on why you should never say anything literally anything even if you believe its going to help it can be flipped to make you the convicted. After the lawyer thoroughly points out tons of ways to fuck ya the second person gets up ( they have never met or was this a practice routine they were strangers) who is a cop and his first words are " everything he said is complete truth im blown away".

one of the reasons they tell you to clean house is because if you are caught with illegal substances they have this fucked up set of laws known as conspiracy. There are many of people sitting in prison for long amounts of time for importing cocaine and had never touched nor see them.. simply planning to buy, sell, or import is enough in the US to be convicted but at the end of the day you say nothing an let your attorney handle EVERYTHING you will see why after watching this video and i recommend watching it completely and maybe a few times and share share share shareshare share share shareshare share share share!

really it goes without saying, who would ordered a large quanitity of expensive drugs to your house besides you, look at like this if a jury heard you recieved drugs to your residence would they believe it was you or a random stranger? thats not to say you couldnt beat the case by denying it all, but i think its much safer and smarter to order domestic, much less risk that way, customs is a bitch, they are trying to stop cartels and tons of other illegal drug importers and they know all the tricks, domestic mail is hardly if ever scrutinized

Deny, deny, deny. Or don't say anything at all and ask to speak with your lawyer. They'll tell you whatever it is you need to hear to get you talking. Don't worry if you cooperate we'll make it easy on you. LIES. It's only a little weed, what's the worst that can happen? LIES

If your stupid enough to order to your house in Australia usually they let it go through quite a few times, then get a warrant and search your house, take computer etc. Other times they give you a delivery card to pick up the pack and then raid you. If you use a regular drop they set up covert surveillance, get a number plate or follow to home address and come back with a warrant.

If you order international be smart. It's cheaper for a reason

Nah dude the let shit like importing drugs from another country slide.

Pretty sure it's only a love letter for anything less than a kilo, brah!

[1 Points] whatisopsec:

They deliver the drugs and wait for you to accept them open them or take them some where. This is the gold standard since it proves knowledge of the contents and is possession. If you are smart about it you might be able to beat the charges. But the prosecutor must only convince a jury of your guilt so you are rolling the dice on acquittal by jury or appeal.

As long as you dont sign and accept said parcel, you're fine.

In the US they'll try to charge you with possession and go from there
