Has anyone heard of a hot drop?

I'm currently in a situation where I don't have an address to which I can ship drugs. For now I have ruled out friends' places and abandoned houses.

Has anyone ever heard of or used Hot Drop?

A friend briefly explained the service, but I'm having issues researching it.

EDIT: Hey, sorry guys - should have clarified. A friend recommended "Hot Drop" as if it were an existing service. I was asking if anyone had heard of it.

It sounds far fetched, but the idea of a service like this seems plausible: - Order to one of their addresses - Specify a spot for them to drop your parcel - Keep the money in escrow until the job is done.

Sounds like a good way to not get your drugs.

A hot drop is when something is of a high temperature you can just no longer hold onto, please refer to this video.

What you mean is a drop location, and yes they work if you know how to properly use one.

Is this some sort of actual service you're referring to, or are you asking about using a drop address, like /u/UndefinedExperience mentioned? Your use of capital letters makes it sound like it's a service someone provides somehow.

I haven't heard of such a service, and my lazy search attempt only gives me something about a video game maneuver. Drop locations can be used, but are risky if you don't know exactly what you're doing. If it's a service, I am curious to know more as this is the first I've heard about it.

I might be wrong, but I've been lead to believe that it involves you ordering to someone's address, staking out for the mailman, and grabbing the package out of the mailbox without the receiving party having any knowledge you placed an order to their house.

Personally, if you can't ship to yourself or a trusted friend, I'd say it's not worth it. Best case scenario you're throwing money away on a package that'll be lost one way or another by trying to ship it somewhere abandoned. Never attempt to ship it to a dummy address and interept the package either. If you WERE to be caught by some nosey neighbor, you'd have federal charges based on mail theft/tampering, whatever too.

Personally, I just don't think it's worth adding any risk to an already risky system.
