Question regarding fake names and addresses

I see in the side bar that ordering with fake names or addresses is not encouraged, why is this?

I can understand that hanging around a vacant address waiting to snag the mail is suspicious, but what if you were confident you would not arouse suspicion?

Or say you decided to ship to your actual address but with a fake name. If you could ensure that you would still receive packages under that name, is this not preferable?

Thanks for the help guys

I too am curious about the reasoning behind this. In my experience USPS will deliver anything to the address specified, regardless of the name on the package. And especially in apartments and dorms, people move in and out so much that USPS or the front desk can't keep up and know what the name is of the current resident.

I assume using a fake address is bad because USPS will know and it will arise suspicion. But a fake name doesn't seem like a terrible idea.

Thoughts?

Usig your real name and address is the best way to not get caught and actually get your package.

I have, however used a fake name at a real address and a fake name at an abandoned house.

Both worked. USPS isn't as flawless as people like to make them out to be.
