Encrypted messaging

What is your opinion on messaging? I've been using surespot and whatsapp. Do you think they are safe. Also using tutanota for email

Thank you. I was forced to use whatsapp yesterday because of the folks I was dealing with and got that creepy feeling about it. Now I know why. I finally got around to getting a pgp key, but haven't sent or received an email yet using it. Is it cumbersome and slow to use? Another person I deal with often and I have these rapid fire conversations that are time sensitive. Sometimes we use pidgin on tails , but often it has to be Tutanota

Sigaint for e-mail (use PGP of course) and Pidgin with OTR plugin enabled for messaging.

Like the other guy said, signal for messaging. Use pgp for mail etc

www.privacytools.io for every aspect of your private messaging needs. Honestly the boys at r/privacytoolsio have done a great job of covering everything. The site is updated regularly. I use Signal and Silence (texting fork of signal) for my mobile needs and sometimes conversations.im. For email it depends on what function I'm looking for. Protonmail (who just added a onion link) is a great web app but if you wanna control your email I2P-Bote is a good choice. Bitmessage is something to look into as well but it hasn't reached wide spread adoption.
