Sent my buddies spores through USPS...

As the title states, I sent my buddies some spores through USPS. We live in the same state, they just live 4 hours away. I sent them using stealth and thought nothing of it. Now, 2 weeks later, the package, which was in a flat rate envelope, has still not reached it's destination. However, within the first few days of sending I kept up with the tracking. It said after 3 days it had reached it's destination. I contacted my friends and asked if they had gotten it. They said they hadn't and I brushed it off saying wait another day or two. But now it's been two weeks. Does anyone have any advice or a clue as to whether or not the spores will arrive or are retrievable? I've had in-state shipping take a week before but this is ridiculous. Also, would there be any legal consequences for being caught sending spores through the mail? I remember reading they were legal.

Spores are not illegal. Growing mushrooms from them is. No reason for stealth.

Is there any possibility that someone else may have got their hands on it before your friend did, like a parent for example? That's really the only explanation I can think of as likely other than it simply getting lost in the system.

I've had packages marked in the system as delivered a few times when they weren't. Twice, it was bc the mail person had left them on his truck. They ended up eventually getting to me when he found them, although OC the error was never admitted to by the mailman or the postal service. The other times, it was bc my neighbors had stolen the packages.

It is my understanding that spores aren't even illegal. I think you are good on that.

In some states spores are illegal. California being a prime example.

sprores are completely legal to mail (unless you sent them in a non dull point syringe and syringes are available only by prescription). In which case the spores are still legal.. its the syringe thats not.

Were they labeled though? A syringe with clear fluid in itwould look odd to say theleast.
