Trouble with TAILS on Mac

https://tails.boum.org/install/mac/usb/index.en.html

I am at about step 3. I have successfully ran the script dd if=[tails.iso] of=[device] bs=16m && sync

So I am wondering what do I do now? I am supposed to boot my computer and have tails show up. But this is not happening It just shows my macbook as an option to boot. NOT a USB drive

Keep in mind my usb currently looks like this (which based on what I know, it should look like) and the command ran as "successful" http://imgur.com/ZAPKLRi

So anyways I looked up "list of common issues" https://tails.boum.org/support/known_issues/index.en.html#index17h2 And found that some macs need rEFInd to boot it properly. I downloaded it. I then had it look like this upon rebooting http://imgur.com/zO14fnP

Then it did not have a usbstick appear for some reason so I then clicked the reboot option which showed like this

I then clicked on the USB and got this error

So I downloaded tails on this USB 2 weeks ago max. Right before I got this macbook, I put it on this USB. I download this rEFInd this morning. So both should be up to date?

Please let me know what is going wrong. Any help would be appreaciated

Did you burn a DVD first? You can't just load it up for the first time on a usb. You can to burn the iso to a dvd then boot it from that then clone it to a usb.

I had to Burn to DVD before i could get it to work. The 2 usb method didnt work. Kinda ironic since mac stopped putting disk drives in around '13

Get the usb for tails. Powerup the mac hold down ALT select the usb drive tails should run. Buy a preloaded tails usb.
