Multiple Po Boxes under the same name/id?

So I opened a box this past summer at small town with a small post office not too far from my town. I'm thinking of opening another box in a town about 10-15 minutes opposite of the other po box. I want to do this to split up packages as I'm flipping more weight and don't want too many packs going to the one box. My question is, can I safely open another box in a town 15 miles away from my other box in the same name using the same forms of id to open the new box as I used for the old box. Do they have them all in a system and check to see if I have another box. I mean I could see having multiple boxes in different parts of the state or different states, but what would I say if they knew I had a box just miles away? I used the search but had no help with my answer, thanks to any who have experience and can shed light.

As far as we know there is no PO box data base where they can just search for other box's. Shouldn't be a problem

Yes they can. If you can get with something like 250gr+ seized to a box in your name they are going to run an investigation and possibly find more boxes filled under the same name/credentials

When you register a box at a mailbox store, they forward that information to USPS authorizing to receive mail for you on their behalf. This information is stored in the mail database. It even says so on their form when you are registering the box.

If your credentials are correct, even if you use a fake ID and assuming you use a REAL address like an apartment complex or something, and you register a PO box, this information gets forwarded and 'approved' by the system for you to receive mail.

Don't get any packs seized and if you do try not to assume that all your other boxes registered under the same name is still good.

I've had 2 boxes open at the same USPS location before. One was smaller than the other, and I was in the process of switching over to a bigger box. When I went to pick up my key for the new box, the lady had no idea that I already had another box, as she was treating me like a new customer.

Have had at least 5, private and USPS. Even had pack seized. No problems with multiple.
