Idea for all markets: Implement option to allow buyers to pay fixed % of sale upon ordering and fixed % upon finalization.

Idea for all markets: Implement option to allow buyers to pay fixed % of sale upon ordering and fixed % upon finalization. The only marketplace that had something similar to this was Blackmarket Reloaded but not quite what I'm suggesting. BMR's system allowed buyers to release BTC for shipping fees separate from their product's fees so vendors could be paid the amount it costs for them to ship an item before waiting for a customer to receive their order. This seems like a more fair system because some customers don't ever finalize and some customers dispute their orders even after receiving them. At that point, vendors should at least be reimbursed for their shipping costs and possibly even more. Vendors should be allowed to dictate what percent of sale buyers will pay up front and upon finalization. For example, a vendor could set a rate where the market holds 50% of funds in escrow and releases the other 50% to the vendor immediately. This seems like an option that would be nice to have alongside FEing. Anyone else think this is a good idea?

I think it's been available before, I forget the market (I don't think it was BMR though) allowed you to partially FE

ANy amount of money FE'd is a risk IMO and not a useful feature. It may be useful to vendors but marketplaces like these have to cater to buyers to make them feel safe. The vendors will vend as long as the customer base is there.

If I was a market admin and was to agree with any portion of this it would be the shipping costs immediately FE'd but thats as far as I would go.. and I really think any legit vendor can easily operate with shipping funds stuck in escrow.

Maybe this option would be nice to have available if it was at vendors request for special shipments like overnight shipments only.

We have markets to try to have a civilized system for resolving problems. We give up to this system when we FE. If we FE some %, we give up to this system in this %.

Problems won't go away. If I am scammed this %, I will still give work to the admins because I will go into dispute, and I'll loose some cash to FE. On the other hand, if I dispute even after receiving a good product, I'll still be able to scam a %. It would be a bad response from a market to tell a costumer "we give you the non FE coins back because we know you were scammed, but our system isn't good enough to compensate you for the full amount"

What I'm saying is that there aren't going to be less disputes or scams (from both sides) if a % goes directly to the vendor.

Bluesky had something very similar and I personally used it in a fitting scenario with good success with a favorited vendor of mine. We went through a little missing pack problem and they promised a reship (we had done so much business together it would've been dumb of them to fuck me on the deal, I took the knowing risk, and it paid off well). I then finalized 50 percent of my order and low and behold received my pack in full weight to a different drop 4 days later.
