Before getting started....

Sorry about this, i just tried posting this to Darknetnoobs twice but an autobot mod deleted it and said i was sourcing. So ill post here.

I just want to cover all my bases before getting started using DNM. So, ive got and account set up on Evolution....Check Ive got Kleopatra PGP. Im still figuring out exactly how to use it though.... Check My problem is with Bitcoins.... Ive set up an account on Localbitcoins. How does everyone like to buy on there? I was thinking of using the bank transfer option. So how does this work? I transfer money to someone. I take a picture of the receipt and send the photo to said person. Then what? How do they send me coins? Do i have to set up a wallet on another site and have the person send the coins to that address? Say i do that, do i then send those coins to my Evolution wallet and make my purchase? Not to sound like and idiot but i just want to cover all my bases before i spend $1200 on bitcoins.

LBC is great and haven't had issues. It's usually not bank transfers but cash deposit. They almost always want cash and not check or transfer. Basically you find a LBC vendor, they give you instructions which is the bank account number and usually they want you to photograph the deposit receipt. Coins are held in LBC escrow. After the pic is uploaded and they verify the deposit they'll release the coins. Some vendors wait until evening to clear but I always look at average time to release and pick one that releases quick. Ones I've used will release coins in a few minutes after verification.

The coins if in escrow will be sent directly to your LBC wallet. From there I'd recommend an intermediate wallet like electrum to send coin. Then from there to the market. Tumbling is up to you. People have differing views on that.

I buy using cash deposit on LBC. This involves me making a trade request with a seller then he will provide his bank account number so I can go into my nearest 'x' bank and deposit the cash. He then releases the btc from escrow and tada, it's as simple and anonymous as that. You don't NEED to set up another wallet, you have one on LBC. I personally use an offline wallet called Electrum though. I send the bitcoins from my LBC wallet to this before I send it to the markets. Think of it it as just a personal reassurance type thing, it's not a necessity by any means considering it's already anonymous due to my method of purchase being cash deposit.

Don't spend $1200 on bitcoins for your first time. You really haven't thought this through, have you? Start low. Just enough to get your first purchase. If everything goes to plan and you successfully received your first purchase THEN you can look to buying more and continuing once you've got the hang of things.

On top of what other people have said..

DO NOT have them send it directly to your evo wallet... I had a LB trade where the guy did this to me in person at a mcdonalds. He gave me the address he wanted it sent to. Told him it was sent and then he said he didn't see it. I asked him what wallet he was using and he said "evo". I was calm about it, and tried to explain all the reasons he should NEVER have a LB trader send coins directly to a market let alone tell me about it. Then gave him the blockchain transaction details and left. I refused to trade with him after that.

If you use evo. Have the coins ready in a wallet. Start your order. You then have 2 hours to transfer your coins and complete your order. Transfer the EXACT amount of coins it says you need in another tab. Check out. Done. t's a great system.
