Question about getting something OUT of Australia [x-post r/Australia]

I've got a chemical substance I wish to get laboratory tested, and the only lab I know that offers this anonymously is in the U.S. This lab requests that substances in powder form be contained in a capsule or baggie and then wrapped in bubble wrap and a padded envelope, along with $100 US in cash to pay for the testing. When I did this and took it down to the Australian post office, they told me I'd need to fill out a customs form. Now, they don't require ID as far as I know, so I can easily give a false name and details, and describe the contents as an 'analytical sample'. But I'm concerned that a package like this with a customs form attached is much more likely to be opened and examined by Australian customs, who I gather are famously hardline but maybe only with shit coming in ?) and if it is I will see neither substance nor cash again, and worse I will wait up to 6 weeks for results that will never be posted. Thoughts on this from anyone with similar experiences? I should add that the sample included is very small (around 30mg) and thus could potentially be put in a baggie and placed inside folded card and passed off as a birthday card or something, without the customs form - but the lab specifically request padded envelope and bubble wrap for protection of contents. Am I being unnecessarily cautious?

first off...you heard of Energy Control before? you can pay in BTC

secondly, mailing cash to a foreign country untracked seems like an easy way to get ripped off. I'd avoid that if possible. maybe send the cash tracked, and just declare it as some kind of legal document or something. can even use your real info. then send the drugs in a separate birthday card, untracked. I doubt the lab would lie about not receivig the sample, as they don't stand to gain anything.

oh and third, AUS customs doesn't give a shit about outgoing mail. it's US customs (if anyting) that you should be worried about.

Put it in a birthday card. They won't open it plus it's cheaper to send.
