How do I perform a direct deal with a vendor?

You should ask them if they'd be willing to use a multisig address as escrow. You could make a 2-of-2 address where both of you are required to sign any transaction, or you could find an escrow agent and make a 2-of-3 address. If you'd like, I'd be more than happy to help you and the vendor create and use a multisig address, and if you decide you want an escrow agent, I would be willing to do it at no charge. My motto for being an escrow agent is that I will do what I personally believe is fair and right. Plus, you can verify that I cannot cheat you (without at least colluding with the other party), since it's multisig.

Message them and ask if they do direct deals.... if they do, they'll probably supply you with an email. Always. Use. PGP. Make sure you sign up for a good private email service like protonmail and access it over tor!

Edit: Make sure you have your own PGP Public key so the vendor can communicate with you as well!

If you have to ask this question, you are not ready to do direct deals. Stick to escrow for a bit.

Message them on a market, as them if they do it. They will send you a wallet, they will ship your stuff once they get the coins. That situation is fully hypothetical of course and I would only trust it to very few vendors.
