The Golden Law of USPS, itewqq umakemesad :(

I've done a decent amount of research but only been in this "game" for a couple years, and only personal amounts.

Why would any vendor use any other carrier than USPS? Ok, it's the government, that's scary... but it's a surface concern. Has something changed? Isn't it still a terrible idea to use a private carrier like UPS who can open anything on a whim? Isn't this a rule never to be broken?

I ask because I recently received an order of herb (which is the scariest thing in terms of shipping, so big, so smelly, needs better stealth than most items) from itewqq and was shocked that it came through UPS. I'm now learning he's been using UPS for some time, and an r/DankNation thread has a shocking amout of people showing no concern about this.

itewqq is one of my favorite vendors for oil, and it would always come 2-day priority USPS. Guy was like Amazon, top 3 in reliability.

The one time I order bud it comes in a brown box with no warning (if you're going to ship non-USPS, it's an ethical issue not to warn customers.) The Green Crack was also pretty disappointing. Double shock considering the high quality of all the different oils I'd tried.

I hesitate to post things like this because I've had a close call with a vendor trying to dox me before, and while I used to have the utmost respect for itewqq, using a private shipping company makes me question everything.

Am I missing something? Have the rules changed? I doubt it, looks like I'll have to find another high quality shatter vendor in the future

edit: forgot to mention he openly offers tracking as long as you have a public key. Tracking is another big no-no to me in terms of everyone having open access, it should only be used when necessary to avoid attracting attention. So even though it has the appearance of great customer service, another stupid risk. I've never checked tracking on an order, sit and wait, don't be low hanging fruit.

Throwaway for obvious reasons. I'm extremely familiar with the processes of UPS/Fedex. They're both terrible choices for mailing drugs and here is why:

So, you're going to ship a small box of dope. At UPS, when they send your package out, it will be loaded in a trailer. They bag up the smaller packages together and load the bags in with the other packages. Safe enough, right? Not quite...

The goal for the number of "small" packages they bag is 85%. That means there is a 15% chance (or less depending on how much heat your center is currently under from corporate) that your package will be loaded in the trailer without being bagged with the other smalls.

I don't think there is much to be said about how UPS handles packages. They don't give a FUCK. I have years of management experience and management won't condone treating boxes like shit because that opens them to get in trouble. They simply will try not to be around when things are getting ugly. If they don't see it, they can't be held responsible and then management can pass the ass beating on down to the hourly employee.

Anyhow, these packages are coming at your at about 1 per 3-5 seconds and you're loading them. Usually the people that are loading these trailers are younger 20-30 year old males. They will cut every corner they can to conserve energy because it's a rough ass job. This entails putting the heaviest packages on the floor and leaving the top open to heave your light packages on top.

So now, your little box of weed has a 15% chance of being left loose in the load and 100% chance of being thrown. So, now you're lucky if your box just has a bent corner, but the loose smalls usually get crushed in the load.

Well, management doesn't want to take the call from the customer later bitching about their box being beat up to hell and back. So, management pulls your package off and has a clerk re-box it, so it appears nice to the customer.

You can see where this is going from here. Clerk opens the box. They find weed. If they're cool enough, they'll just steal it but if they care about their job, they'll realize that forwarding this on with their name plastered all over it is a bad idea. So, they turn your ass in.

Lastly, there is nearly 1 leaking package in every trailer due to poor handling. Wine and shit gets tossed and broken on the daily. They re-box any of them that get too wet.

The chances are just too high to fuck with. USPS takes immensely better care of their packages and leave you with a much much higher chance of the package not being opened.

Noticed the same exact thing. When I ordered I noted all the astounding remarks for high levels of stealth so I figured this was a quick opsec change. I've never ordered again, the price:quality ratio wasn't on par with others out there + the whole non-USPS thing. Sketchy.

USPS is a security hazard. Google "usps drug seizures", then replace USPS with UPS. What result do you get? Then consider that USPS has it's own police force which is dedicated to finding drugs in the mail (the Postmaster General Office), they run all their packages by dogs, and all they need to get a warrant to open a package is to tell a dog to point at it. They also habitually put cameras in their drop boxes when they suspect drop-offs are being done at a particular location. In terms of motivation to find drugs in packages, UPS has absolutely none whereas USPS has a great deal (especially these days). Some claim that packages are more likely to become damaged (and then opened) by UPS vs USPS. This has not been my experience, and I've had plenty with both shipping methods. The common wisdom on the darknet has been to use USPS, and even 2 years ago it may have still been the better option...but when everyone uses the same methods for 5+ years, even the feds tend to catch on and adapt. The only advantage USPS has left (except for price and speed, which don't affect security) is the high volume of packages, but this single pro no longer outweighs the many cons.

regarding the tracking, any customer who wants to get tracking (for some nefarious purpose, like if they were LE), could just claim that it never arrived and file a dispute. we would then be forced to provide it anyway (this has happened numerous times) to prove to the admins that we didn't do anything shady. consequently, even though it seems as if it lowers security, it actually doesn't prevent anything. you can't just think in terms of general ideas when considering security, you have to actually think of the details of the process that will occur that you think may or may not pose a security risk. USPS sounds like a better option, for example, and it used to be. The problem is that no one actually looks below the surface wisdom, they just listen to what everyone else is saying on reddit. It helps if you actually have the discipline to do your own research. How many of you have hired lawyers to research this issue? How many have done so within the last year?

You have the "surface concern", as you put it, completely twisted. It's a surface comfort that the warrent USPS needs to open a package actually provides any protection when you get down to the reality on the ground. Consequently, the relevent concern is which carrier is motivated to give you problems? USPS, not UPS. Fedex, by the way, isn't a good option because they have some sort of a deal with the government wherein they use the same planes as USPS (and so their packages go by dogs).

Also, regarding the handling of packages, I've had far more packages mangled by USPS than UPS. The auto-sorters the government uses are a joke, I used to have packages show up completely shreded, then taped back together with an apology note from USPS. Luckily I had everything properly done on the inside.

I like the fact that he uses UPS.. I worked there before, and they don't give a damn about what is in the packages...

bad OPSEC

Holy fucking slow shipping time batman. Aside from not realizing he was going to do UPS, 10 days from order to delivery. That's fucking sad for domestic to domestic. Definitely not ordering from again.

[1 Points] CaptainSergeantson:

Is this a fucking joke? Who the fuck actually thinks working with a Government agency is smarter especially after 9/11 re-=wrote the rullbook? I know of a Postmaster that took that role just to get the free weed - He just opens packages he thinks is chronic and keeps the shit, doesn't need a warrant - He has the Patriot Act on his side. Jesus pplz - Any fool who is agreeing that shipping with a non-government entity is rolling bullshit.

[0 Points] SLOPSEC:

Those guys at /r/DankNation have little concern for opsec. They need to change their attitudes. Remember, not everyone came to the darknet with the SR train and all the rhetoric that came with it. A lot of these weed guys were already doing weed stuff on clearnet sites and probably still would still be if any of the clearnet sites had survived.

The only way this could be acceptable at all is if he had people inside his UPS pickup.
