I've been hoping for a massive discussion about the current state of DNM LSD and all these recent posts and their comments have kind of been scratching the surface of said discussion. I'd like to say some stuff which may be of interest to all you LSD connoisseurs out there.
Let us begin.
Veteran Acid Dropper's Bias
Some are saying that the LSD these days is shit compared to the LSD back in the day. I just want to emphasize that "back in the day", whenever that may be, your body was younger and your brain probably had fresher and more functional receptors. With that anatomical bias present, (legitimate) 100 ug today may not feel like the 100 ug back then. Has every DNM tab you've taken appeared to be underdosed? Or what if ALL the LSD today is underdosed? Be honest, is this likely? The only way we can currently assess the legitimacy of an advertised dose is if we try it ourselves - but we only actually try it after reading (biased) reports. If you seriously find that all DNM LSD is underdosed, I wouldn't be sure I'd believe you and it's not helping the cause. This needs to change. Stop living in the past, focus on the now; you need to calibrate your tripping scales and gauge the LSD to more recent experiences.
Random Error
One thing that we're going to have to consistently deal with is the occasional poorly-laid blotters. And by occasional, I mean on the occasion when a flipped quarter lands still on its side. Seriously, following a crystal-laying protocol shouldn't be that hard. I understand that DNM vendors may or may not be laying the blotters themselves, but if they are, it must absolutely be under control. Follow the procedure, black and white, clear as crystal. An error once in a while is understandable, but frequent bunk tabs are unacceptable. This affects OPSEC too; when a vendor acknowledges that their tabs are bunk, they may do a reship which doubles the risk of getting caught, not to mention a waste of money and time.
If the vendor is not doing the laying I'm not sure what can be done. Whoever is responsible for the laying needs to be informed.
Systematic Error
This is when you frequently see things like "these tabs aren't 250 ug, they're more like 150 to 200 ug." This is when the vendor is unaware of the actual dosage via a lying source, or when the vendor is greedy as fuck! What can be done here? Believe it or not, it is on the clients' side. A few months ago, there was a dude who was testing a few vendors' tabs using some form of spectroscopy to quantify the actual mass of the compounds found in the tabs. I have no idea where he went, but it would be great if we could get this going with a few donations from the community (if you've got the coin) for the community and the love of LSD (and profit, if that's your thing). Seriously, if you have access to such equipment or know someone who does, many of us would appreciate it if you could measure the microgram content of LSD in some tabs. This would completely polarize the shit vendors from the good vendors, with the added confidence of scientific evidence. It would also save some dude, who is used to dropping multiple underdosed tabs, from inadvertently dropping multiple accurately dosed and potent tabs; his mental health and (maybe) your tax money left unscathed.
With that said, I just want to be clear that I'm mainly focusing on the tabs which are getting tons of mixed reviews. I'm not sure about you, but Pimpits and the like are rather obvious and do not need lab testing. We're talking about the tabs which need an end-all-be-all, conclusive answer - no more months of dosage speculation of X vendor, we've had far too many posts like that on this sub (some of which I am guilty of). Sometimes LSD avengers and trip reports aren't enough.
The Bottom Line
We need vendors to try their best in laying their blotters. We also need to figure out ways to scientifically measure the dosage of tabs; but until then, we need people to attempt to be a little less egocentric with their reviews - reflect a little and try not to be biased.
Thanks, and sorry for such a huge read.
Note: I'm just talking about dosage here. For example, a tab is either 100 ug or it's not (for whatever factor). Moody buyers, pricing, and other things aren't of the main concern at the moment; hence, the title.
