Reddit dangerous? Switch to onion forums?

I think it could be a better idea to switch to a onion forum (DNMAvengers, TheHub ....) instead of discussing Darknet Markets and Drugs on a clearnet site which forces you to activate JavaScript to use its full functionality. (Feds was able to get Real IP from users using Javascript and i bet they still are.)

Everyone is talking about "OPSEC" and reddit is such a easy source for Feds to collect data and identify buyers and vendors.

Maybe the mods can find a solution by working with some already existing onion forums.

Feels like they are banning other subs to concentrate all users here. Monitoring 1 sub is easier then 10 or 100.

Just some ideas to maybe make our lifes a little bit safer. Dont make it easy for LE and watch your asses guys.

here some tips on how to use reddit with Tor https://www.reddit.com/r/DarkNetMarketsNoobs/wiki/bible/buyer/about/redditwithtor

there is a pretty big difference between taking over a hardcore pedophile community and serving malicious js code [for windows users only] there and forcing a huge and legal company which already complies with traditional inquiries such as subpoenas [reddit] to serve malicious js code for thousands of users just because they discuss drug usage.

wat makes u think LE aint just gonna lurk the onion forum , dude?

[11 Points] HugBunter:

I'm developing subreddit into the functionality of my (soon to launch) website, current has a single security related discussion board with a similar UI and upvote logic as Reddit, but with no JS, I don't think or hope that it will be used much after launch, but could be a good alternative if anything was to go wrong in the future. Currently archiving the whole sub too and will make it read-able through my site UI at some point.

It's not just about IPs and beeing (possibly) identified, it's just generally an awful idea to discuss all those things here. I'm pretty sure that almost every DEA agent has a tab with this sub on his computer. I was always wondering why ppl think it's a good idea to discuss dnms & opsec right in front of every LE officer out there who's interested.

[6 Points] beatenangels:

Here's the thing. Your concerned about LE snooping on the sub and collecting information. The thing is everything on here is public knowledge that the cops already have. The only thing they could get is more info on vendors through the vendor accounts (ex IP address). However the vendors should be using good enough opsec to make that a non-issue. Buyers aren't worth the time for LE to hunt down.

Or just download tails os and create a new account

sure fed, which onion roleplay forum should I go to?

[2 Points] C_Lana_Zepamo:

All anyone has to do is go to snoopsnoo.com and search a reddit tag to find out if you're into DNM or any interest. For example, I really like boofin kpins, apparently.

But it also like can guess your demographic too, i.e family, pets, etc. So kinda creepy.

[1 Points] crustedchlorides:

This sounds like a good idea. If I remember correctly I read somewhere on here that LE is already collecting information from here and watching this sub. LE could be any of us, and the scary part is we don't know whom. Take for example, t0mcheck. Everybody thought he was contributing to the dnm community by pointing out vulnerabilities. But actually he was stealing our money right in front of our eyes.

Stay safe guys, and browse trough a VPN or Tor and use different pseudonyms.

This seems like an ideal approach

[1 Points] ShitQuantikSays:

They didn't just ban drug subreddits.

I imagine yesterday was a purging day for the admins.

[1 Points] None:

Tried switching community last year but reddit was more "convenient"...

[1 Points] None:

Guys lets just post up in a Law Enforcement subreddit! Then we can really roleplay and it'll piss them off. Like someone could post a thread doing a x10,000 hulk review and post pics and all that good shit. Can't lie that'd be funny

[1 Points] PhLUPhH34D:

Reddit is only dangerous if you post like an idiot. but yes, we need to have our own forum somewhere, voat possibly.

[1 Points] Neutral_User_Name:

If you are worried about your IP leaking from Reddit, it's because your opsec is poor. I am actually happy to leak my IP here, without the least worry.

[0 Points] bebopx2:

LE does not have the time or resources to read reddit everyday.

[0 Points] CthulhuRites:

We need to just start sending snailmail again. The classic handwritten sentiment.

[0 Points] ___--__-_-__--___:

Thinking that a .onion site would provide any more privacy is a dangerous mistake. People on DNM forums are often much more lax than they should be with regard to their OPSEC, lulled by a false sense of security. I see it all the time.

A .onion site would, however, provide significantly less takedown-able a venue for our shitposts.
