Trusted vendor shipped a product that never arrived, how should I proceed?

Out of respect for the vendor, I won't mention his name.

I bought from a vendor who has amazing feedback from multiple marketplaces. I purchased an order from AlphaBay where this vendor has over 200 positive feedback and 0 neutral or negative feedback (level 4 vendor).

I made the purchase on labor day and the vendor told me that I lived near him so I should expect the mail soon. I gave him my legit name and address but it's been 2 weeks and I haven't received the order. He's offered to reship for 50% after he restocks if I finalize the order and that I can hold off on feedback until I receive the order. However, paying 150% for the initial order seems a bit harsh especially since it's now been over 2 weeks since I've placed the order and I wasn't able to get it in time for a concert that I wanted it for.

I realize it sucks for him since I'm almost certain he did ship it, but it probably got lost in the mail somewhere. Since his feedback is so good on multiple markets and he has good reviews from users on this subreddit.

Since AlphaBay holds everything in escrow, I've opened a dispute so I don't have to finalize until the dispute has been settled.

I'm pretty torn about this and would love any advice.

Ask him for the tracking #. If he doesn't have one, the market admin will likely give you a full refund, or give the vendor a chance to give you a 100% reship. I would not take anything less then a full refund/100% reship unless he provides tracking and I have prove he actually sent something to me in the mail.

this is what escrow is for. if you buy something and dont receive it then you get your money back

my advise - take the 50% reship, you dont want it to degrade into a slagging match over the dispute system where the vendor will point to your relative histories (his loads of feedback on multiple markets VS your buyer history) and take 100% of the funds from the dispute, as what mod aint gonna side with them
