Seller question: How to best deal with "from" address for domestic packages?

YES I AM BEHIND 9000 PROXIES

I started selling moderate quantities of prescription meds. I always ship them using USPS Priority Flat-Rate envelope and print the labels so they look professional and inconspicuous. But lately I have been getting stick from my local post offices for not including a "from" field on my letter.

I know for a fact that you don't NEED one. First, only really annoying clerks that are clearly having a shitty day refuse to accept a letter without a from field, and second, the letters always arrive regardless.

So my question is how to best deal with it. At the end of the day, I am doing something illegal, so I need to take every precaution to ensure I don't get caught. Here are my options:

  1. Do not include a from address. Either pick the cool clerks that don't give a shit, or try again later. Cons: I don't want to become "that guy" and arouse any suspicion by arguing or cherry-picking clerks.
  2. Include a fake address. Cons: can arouse suspicion if one of the clerks sees "15 Yemen Road, Yemen" and maybe decides to look into it.
  3. Use a real address close to me, but not my own. Cons: exposes my city/state to the buyer.
  4. Use a real address, but in another city/state. Cons it may arouse suspicion if a clerk constantly sees packages labeled "From Miami" coming out of California.
  5. Write something generic that is not an address, like "Anonymous Package" or "Return Address Not Needed" or something that will pass a cursory glance by the clerk. Cons: they can still be assholes, and then we're back to option 1.

What is your recommendation?

You're doing some things wrong. First, you don't want to go to the post office to send them. You are being recorded on camera sending the packages. Instead, buy Priority Mail stamps, get some free Priority Mail envelopes, and drop the packages off at a USPS box or somewhere. Also, just put a return address from businesses nearby (Yelp) because not having one is suspicious. You want your packages to blend in, not stand out.

Not a seller. From what I've read, the best approach is to use an address that you know exists and won't alert cops if they receive a return. Preferably one within driving distance. Not going with a return address arouses suspicion if you're just using flat rate. Most people include it. By not including it, you arouse suspicion.

Stop going to clerks. Get postage and drop into the blue box, keep as far away from cameras as possible. Find an office building in the same zip code as your blue box, use that as a return address.

Why are you going into the office to post them? Stamps is way safer.

Ideally for the return address you want someone who won't alert cops if something gets returned. If you know of a kind of area where you think that's less likely, make your address there.
