So this has been a long time coming, but I will be stepping down after submitting this thread. I've been here for a total of six months now, not so active in the last two, but my tour of duty has done and will now become a "veteran" so to speak.
First and foremost I would like to thank the rest of the mod team, including the other retired moderators I worked with. I've been around online forums for the past decade, moderating a lot of them, and these guys are honestly the best group I've ever worked with. We've disagree sometimes when it came to decisions but feelings were never hurt and professionalism was (almost) always maintained. I'll miss working with them!
I would also like to thank the rest of you guys. You definitely weren't the easiest users to work for, and I cannot count how many times I've been called a shill (or Hugs!), but I've really enjoyed interacting with you bunch. Obviously there was/is some hate towards me as I was in a position of authority, but this is supposed to be expected in a place where we operate against the law. Even though I'm stepping down I will still be here commenting, and am so looking forward to being able to interact as a regular user.
As for why I'm stepping down, there are a few reasons. I've grown tired of checking the modqueue and modmail every day, and in the past few months I've only been performing around 8% of the total moderator actions. I'm not as active around here as much as I used to be, and feel it would not be right to stay on the mod team while contributing fuck all to the moderator actions. Second reason is the drama. I'm not in love with drama, and I hate having to mediate or get myself involved in it even more. As a moderator this is almost impossible to avoid as we always get involved somehow. I no longer want to be involved with the added stress.
So yeah, I'm now one of you guys. Down with the mods!
Dread seeing the day in which the mighty automoderator steps down.
You'll be missed MLP.
