Searched and couldnt find many stories of this happening in the united states, although most people seem to have caved to LE tactics extracting a confession. This scenario is assuming the authorities have no other evidence than your mail.
Has anyone involved in a CD successfully claimed that whatever they received wasnt theirs?

Im to lazy to find the article but there was a guy who got a CD on 10 pounds of weed and beat it. He refused to sign and they ended up giving him the package anyways. He wrote return to sender on the box and never had opened it when they arrested him

There was a guy who posted somehwere on Reddit (might be this sub) about a month ago who got a CD. He said officers did what's called a “reverse knock and talk" where LE didn't make the mail deadline and just contact the person listed on the address to try to get a confession. The power of police and authority is enough to make a lot of people comply.
They asked if they could open his package and he consented, despite admiting to the police that he had no knowledge of the contents of the package. When they opened his package (as he said in his post on Reddit) he didn't recognize the product he bought. He didn't know this, but the police obviously confiscated the drugs, and replaced them with something different - it was all a ruse. It's SOP for police to replace the drugs with something else in the package.
That poster from what I remember disappeared after that post making one or two posts on the same day he posted that thread. I imagine they found more evidence such as him checking his tracking using his IP address, and used it to obtain a search and seizure. He said he had a record and done time, so I imagine they were really looking into him.

I've done it twice. If you're not a pussy and you know your rights they can't scare you into doing shit.

I believe the best thing to do if asked to sign for a pack is just sign for it and don't open it for a few days. That way they can't say you knowingly possessed anything or knew the contents of the package. Mark it return to sender or just put a big question mark on it and let it sit.
It is sketchy to not accept a package and have it returned, no normal human does that with a legit package whether it is expected or not. Sign and leave it unopened for a while is your best approach in my opinion.

Not a cd but two postal inspectors knocked on my door and asked about the pack in there hand. It was 7g of mdma and they knew it was Molly somehow.
They wanted me to sign a paper giving them permission to open it. And they tried to trick me sayin what they find can't be used against you in court. But on the paper it literally said anything we find can be used against you . So I told them I wouldn't sign anything without a lawyer , they got all pissed and left. Never heard from them again.
Ordered to the address months later and everything came fine. Pretty lucky id say
It is a common legal issue. Cases don't even make it to court unless they can prove the person opened and used the product.
Otherwise people would be able to send dope to their enemies to get them busted.
