Are tumbling bitcoins necessary? If so what's your process.

I have heard from various sources different opinions over the usage of tumbling services. Some have said people never get caught because of the Blockchain. Only get caught when the package is found out. Anyways. What's your opinion over tumbling services. I've also tried to look for a simple annon bitcoin wallet (simply create a username and go) but have failed to find one. Anybody know of some?

Being in the muck a long time, I've come to realize that there are very little absolutes here and everything has an inherent risk. Its all about minimizing your risk and also where you want to risk things. The loquacious /u/wombat2combat has added a tumbling chapter to the DNM bible. Check it out.

Well, past performance doesn't always predict future problems. The blockchain is forever and you never know when something may bite you in the ass. So I wouldn't necessarily rely on the fact that blockchain hasn't yet been used to pop anyone.

I'm assuming you are a personal buyer (or will be). Things to keep in mind: Many exchanges will ban accounts if they see it goes to a market. So keep that in mind and be careful on directly linking coins from an exchange (such as Coinbase) to a DNM. So in order to avoid that fate, you need to do something so that you aren't doing this. Some people just use an intermediate wallet (which is NOT tumbling at all) and it seems to be okay from an exchange perspective for now. Again, we don't know how this shit will play out in the future.

Also, keep in mind you can tumble coins on your own. This doesn't mean just creating wallets and moving coins b/w wallets - this isn't tumbling obviously. You don't have to necessarily use a dedicated tumbling service. Also, whether or not to tumble may depend on how you acquired your coin (anon vs. exchange for instance).

And you obviously must trust the tumbler. They have to be trusted not to steal your coin OR be compromised by LE in any way b/c obviously if a tumbler were compromised, tumbling didn't do anything and prob put you on LE's radar.

You'll get different opinions. None are necessary wrong or right in every instance. Fact is, there is no one way to do things in every instant.

This is the best resource for this issue. This part of the DNM BIBLE was forged through blood and steel. Your other question is answered for you in another chapter of the DNM BIBLE.
