As we have traveled further down the "Silk Road", did we loose our way?

Have we let certain vendors and markets become DNM equalivents of CEO's and conglomorates like Wal-Mart and Whole-Foods? Allowing them to spread propaganda and slander merely for personal gain and self interest. It was always the job of the community to keep these types of people in check. We are the sentinals of our own personal freedoms and individual choices. It was why the movement started in the first place. There is always a risk of losing that power to self appointed "authorities" and requires nothing more than a lack of effort by the population. We wanted to be the epitome of personal freedoms, but are we really any better than corrupt cops and street corner dealers and back alley drug users?

Who remembers when the DNM's started and we all knew we were part of a movement? Have we become complacent and resorted to the behaviour of a group of drunk friday night frat boys? When this all started everyone shared an ideoligy that unregulated trade and free markets could work because we wanted it to. We had eachothers backs and understood that if one of us failed, we all did. Now, it would seem that there's not a lot of room for Ulbricht's anarcho-capitalist utopian vision in everybody's back pocket, what with all the money they'd rather stuff down there.

The biggest threat this community faces is itself I think. BBMC/Redbook is a good example of the damaging lengths some people among us will go through for whatever nefarious purpose. https://www.reddit.com/r/DarkNetMarkets/comments/5drqdx/this_is_my_way_of_telling_you_all_that_i_love_you/db9o1ot/ If you don't think that tied some things together for LE, think again. It was users in our community figuring out his writing style, tieing together accounts from different forums, his doxx, and snitching to youtube (and maybe his local PD). Those members even provided pics of him, just ask around, they'll show you(cop or not). We are supposed to be working together towards a common goal and liberate ourselves from the tyranny of LE, and we got angry "reddit detectives" helping them bust us then carrying on like they were one of us.

It's not the only time this has happened around here either. Why would someone help the cops connect the dots? Those types of people are harmful to this community and the movement as a whole. With that type of shit going on around here the fucking feds need to do little legwork because vindictive, malicious and spiteful people will do it for them. The Reddit Junior Fed Squad will connect the dots, package it and deliver to HQ personally. These are usually the first ones to call someone else a fed. Have sabateurs infultrated this community? Is anyone out there making a stand against it?

They gave him life in prison for thinking people could be free. They slander his name and accuse him of crimes he did not commit to make him into a monster. If we are the gatekeepers of Ross' vision, have we done right by him? Are we proving to the world that free and unregulated trade can work? Are we showing ourselves and everyone else that drug users can be resposible and do not require government intervention? Are we fighting to make sure no one else has to suffer his fate? Where are all my Revolutionaries at?!

If you know this to happen to other users, you shouldn't taunt people to dox you. It's not a good look to be on this subreddit saying, "dox me, faggot." Someone just might do it.

If you're about working together as one cohesive unit to acheieve the same common goal, you shouldn't spread FUD by accusing users of knowing who they are. Just because people disagree/do not like you does not mean we're all Minerva.

This is the most hypocritical post, but I don't expect anything less from you.

TL;DR: save the sanctimonious lecture for yourself.

Ulbricht's anarcho-capitalist utopian vision

Just that, Ross's vision. I want regulated trade of drugs! Tax the shit, benefit from it, enjoy the shit in comfort! Libertarianism has some good points but a lot of dumb shit as well.

You link too a random guy about reporting a youtube video. If that's the sort of shit that got him busted then that's a damn fine wake up call if I've ever seen one. If you ask me all the supposed doxxers around here are a good thing, if a random person on the internet can do it then LE can do it as well. Leave enough breadcrumbs and eventually somebody will follow the trail. Why do we assume this is our nice-time-play house? If you've begun to trust people on the DNM's you've already failed. I don't trust mother fuckers in real life let alone on anon drug forums where anybody can be le lol All the shit I say about myself on here I am well aware it could be linked back to me. I choose not to post youtube videos of me in my house for that very reason.

Things change as it evolves. We are now much larger than before which attracts a larger crowd, to assume everyone follows the same ideals as you is foolish.

If you want to start a revolution how about you get into politics and try and change something! That's how revolutions start. Not by buying drugs and sitting at your computer complaining about them. Write a god damn article for your local paper, anything really. Ideals don't change unless you get involved.

It sounds like you want all the benefits of extreme capitalism (no regulations, no government involvement) without any of the downsides (greed, monopoly, dodgy dealing).

It only worked in Atlas Shrugged because Rand actually made everyone a decent person, but that's not how it works in the real world.

Yes the markets aren't perfect but they're probably the best we're ever going to get.

Edit: I don't agree personally with helping LE catch anyone for drug use/selling but I'd fight for their right to do it, that's the point of being laissez-faire, leave people to their own devices.

[2 Points] FreddieGetsFingered:

What movement this is just a product of the drug war and capitalism. Most the people here don't give a shit about any movement just getting there drugs without getting arrested. This fantasy of a movement is just that.

What's all this "we" stuff. There is you and I, but no we. OR IS THERE? lol!

We are the sentinals (sic) of our own personal freedoms and individual choices.

I agree. In spirit if not in practice.

We wanted to be the epitome of personal freedoms,

I did. I don't know about you.

but are we really any better than corrupt cops

Um.. FUCK. YES.

and street corner dealers

Quite a bit better than some of them.

and back alley drug users?

Yes. I am in many ways. You might not be. Our "community" could be a mix of all 3+ about 137,347+ other inbetweeners and outliers.

Who remembers when the DNM's started and we all knew we were part of a movement?

LOL. I doubt you do. I don't remember you being around pre-SR1. Maybe you were that Kira girl that went bat shit who had Raynauds Syndrom and flipped her shit on a Methylone bender in like '10 and got kicked off of every board. You kind of remind me of her.

Have we become complacent and resorted to the behaviour of a group of drunk friday night frat boys?

Some have. Some have not. We are not homogeneous.

Not even close to everybody shared an ideology, much less the cohesive, logic-bound, cogent one Ross ran through from day to day. There was a lot of that, but it was a new concept to many, and they dug right in and love to read and write about these new ideas so the effect was amplified.

The biggest threat this community faces is itself I think.

No. It is law enforcement. It always will be.

blah blah BBMC

So dumb he posted youtube videos of himself cooking meth, amped out of his mind writing details abouth is life nobody should know and anybody with the resources could identify him from. No wonder he's not here anymore. Shouldn't be locked up, but he was not being careful. He was being anti-careful.

I haven't made a DNM order in almost half a year now, don't plan to again. It's become the opposite of what it used to be, I'm with you. This sub in particular has become far too crazy, just a bunch of people getting fucked up on drugs with no morals or integrity or the flip side, some fuck like AlpraKing decides to make his home here so he can snitch on people. I read this sub every day, trying to determine when this is going to turn on it's head and destroy everyone around it

[0 Points] Trumps_DNM_Account:

Anarcho capitalism is a completely failed political belief. The people simply take power as governments and corporations. I don't support that shit I just like drugs.

[-1 Points] None:

Cannot emphasize how true this is. As much as I support what you say, I've wondered recently how we could be able to go about fixing this mess?
