How is a P.O box less risky than your own address?

Surely if you register a P.O box in your own name and pay for it with your own bank account it's just as easily traced back to you, no?

On top of all the things mentioned above, a box registered to a small business, which you can legally create by filing a DBA for a few bucks at your local court house, keeps your name and home address out of the hands of vendors. There are some shady vendors out there, and who knows what they might do with your information. I'd feel a tad bit safer knowing I'm not sending my name and home address to a stranger.

If cops want to bust you they will, a PO Box isn't going to help you. Nothing will. If you're the target of an investigation you're going down, simple as that. But a POBox does provide some things that make this process more convienent and a bit safer for certiain people.

I got a box to hide it from the wife. They never asked for ID, it's one of those mailboxes etc. type places.

my box is linked to a place i do not lay my head at. thats why a box is better.

What is this?

About the only reason you would ever want to use a PO box instead of your home address is if there's a risk that someone at your home may pick them up.

I, for instance, live alone, so I'd much rather have them delivered to my own house than a PO box. Other people have access to the PO box once the package is delivered; once a package is delivered to my front door, it's mine, it's at my house, and it's much less likely that someone would pick them up.

Risk from mail carriers is the same either way.

One benefit of a mail box from a private company, ie. UPS store or something. They will sign for packages. If you are ordering something that requires signature, the mail store will sign for it, then leave it in your box for pick up. Many times packages from overseas require signature by law. You can keep your name off any paperwork. Again, not going to save you if you're being investigated, but gives you a bit of piece of mind, and the less physical evidence of you handling that package the better.

Another reason is so vendors dont have your home address. Makes me feel less anxious about leaving a bad review

Basically, plus you'd walk into a CD instead of warning signs at the house to clean house, I tell everybody to stay away from PO

a PO Box raise a flag for customs

it is more dangerous

Its only better if you use a PO with a fake ID, that way if shit goes south your real address is still hidden so it prevents you from needing a clean home if the pack was intercepted.
