So I just moved into a new apartment and set about placing an order. Being an idiot, I glanced over at one of the other unopened letters (I live with my brother) to get my address. However, apparently the apartment number I put it in is slightly different from the one we actually live in (it's preceded by a letter) and just receives spam mail. However, apparently that apartment number doesn't actually exist, so we receive all the mail sent to it.
Considering that we receive all of the mail for that number, I wouldn't be too worried, but I'm a little bit concerned that due to the package being international and addressed to a different name then what normally shows up addressed to that apartment number, it might be a little bit trickier.
I understand I'm probably being overly paranoid here, but if anyone has any experience/input I'd love to here it.
How different of the name? Is it something that could be a misspelling, or different first but same last? Or is it pretty far off?
If it's close I honestly wouldn't worry about it. The post carrier could tap on your door and check, or possibly leave a "we missed you" slip just to see if it's the right person. In that case, just mark OK for redelivery. But international mail is common enough they likely will treat it just like the rest of the mail
