Do you think vendors will start moving to Open Bazaar soon now that 2.0 is out?

Just curious on the community's thoughts on this platform since it is decentralized and cant be shut down removing a lot of third party risk. It also seems to have a very clean interface and flexible feature set. Now that it is Tor compatible what would stand in the way of vendor adoption of the platform?

One of the developers even apparently got it running in Tails, and they are talking about eventually opening it to use cryptos beyond just bitcoin. A version of Tails with OpenBazaar preinstalled would be pretty sweet!

This is the only type of market that should be in development or blowing up right now.

The game has clearly changed.

Now we just need individual “peer to peer” style drone delivery systems to replace shipping companies and we’re set.

We will begin to see wider adoption as soon as the Tails-compatible binaries are released and someone publishes a full ELI18 installation walkthru with screencaps.

Issue is you need a server or to keep your machine online 24/7.. AFAIK.

EDIT: Seems they have fixed this with "offline" stores :)

Have to wait and see about the early phase though, teething problems are a natural expectation with something like this

I've already decided to give it a shot and have my store being set up right now. have it running through the Tor network so OPSEC is still tight

We have just opened up a store on Open Bazaar 2.0. Only e-liquid listed so far but hash and xanax will go up soon. We were on Trade Route with 75 sales and 100% feedback, we're on RS Club but that is shutting down next month.. we will be on Aero soon just waiting for our account to be activated.

The real question is: is it i2p compatible, and if yes, how can you run openbazaar through i2p? But tor alone is still awesome enough :D

[2 Points] Thx002:

No OpenBazaar sucks the search engines it uses completely obscure certain items, try looking for hard drugs or guns.

[2 Points] TheBookofTor:

They should implement a PGP system so a message could by encrypted with the vendors PGP. I know the messaging is already encrypted. But you never know what kind of technology the LE is working on to decrypt the blockchain messages.

I haven’t seen a single vendor there yet. What’s stopping everyone? Is there anything keeping me from opening a shop and trappin’ shit right now? Like what’s the deal?

[1 Points] nocturnallyBiNaRy:

In all honesty, I don't think many vendors regardless of how much they think they are or aren't secure over a tor, have absolutely no idea of opsec (theory) most them have no idea what Shamir's Secret is or how TSL and SSH handshakes are really done. What a certificate authority is, who it belongs to, and much deeper digital concepts that are beyond their narrow feI'll of view. "Oh it's open source....!" Yeah but it's not an "open source DNM" and I bet you, just to make it clear they have left ways to unmask users and or find a way to exploit backend code revealing or pinging back to FBI relays across the US. A cardinal rule of OPSEC especially when it comes to NETSEC is to make sure your not getting baited. I think it is bill 791 that gives NSA the ability to tap you communication if it is regarding or done by a citizen of another country without a warrant, and current time DeepPacketInspection tech that is funded with billions of dollars of fed money now.

Please tell me your VPN Layer under tor is somewhere else, if it is you really a target for the encrypted connection to systems outside the US. OK, use VPN servers in the US. Looolz you just fell into the surveillance states lap. I don't think smart vendors will go near this until it gain a much larger following. You basically hosting a market to a degree.

What would be clever wold be a crawler to better search, but very dorsal out there. Careful you know how to use these tools before you use them
