How is using a realistic name other then your own suspicious ?

I see a lot of rhetoric on here saying not using your real name is suspicious and a foolish thing to do. How? My friend has been using an alternative name the whole time and mail still comes through. Mail people deliver so much mail every day what makes you think that using a different name will suddenly trigger suspicion ? And no I'm not saying use a completely obvious fake name.. But using an alternative first name with your real last name or a family members last name is not that crazy. It's not like the postal inspector or mail person is going to automatically think there is drugs in your mail just because a distant family member is receiving something from ebay? Let's say your pound of weed from Cali gets seized but you were smart enough to use a realistic name other than yours and the LE dressed as the mail man come knocking on your door, but the mail isn't addressed to you so you are much more capable of denying everything. As long as the vendor is good with stealth and your Opsec is good, using an alternative realistic name is the least of your worries. This all comes down to luck. Discuss?

It's tough to have plausible deniability when you're opening someone else's mail if that makes sense. If the mail is addressed to you there is always a case to be made that you thought it was from Barnes and noble or something. If your name is Jim Jeffries but you're caught opening Dale Fuckboys mail it's gonna be hard to explain.

Simple answer: packs with fake names but legit addresses are explicitly listed as one of the criterion for a suspicious package in USPS doctrine. All they need to see is couple of separate criteria on the same pack and they can call in the Postal Inspector to start getting medieval. And yes, they do notice that shit. Not always, of course, but these people are tested for attention to detail and memory before they get the job, and the carriers often do the same route every single day for years. They know your name and how many people get mail at your house, trust me.

Just because you (having never worked at a post office) cannot comprehend why certain stealth and OPSEC methods are necessary does not mean the authorities feel the same way. They follow the book, and the book says fake names are a red flag. Check RIP_Meth_9000's links for more proof.

My friend

Really, your friend?

I have seen packs RTS'd due to 'no such recipient'. YMMV
