[PostageProblem] Mail sitting at post office is oversized for mailbox

Ordered two packages, first came but I got a note saying it was oversized and to pick it up. A few days later the second arrived. Both are in the same name but not a real name.

Can collect by signing the note and picking up for person on note. Is it worth the risk?

There is zero benefit to using a fake name.

Pick it up and if asked for ID (unlikely) say you don't have it on you. That's really all you can do.

And this is why you always use your real name. Most likely they will give you the package if you hand them the note, but you got yourself in a situation that could have been avoided.

Fucking dummy

they probably arent even oversized they are probably being held becuase they think some unauthorized user is receiving packages at your po

I would burn the box.. Nothing is worth your freedom. It could be nothing, but then again it could be something.. Next time around get a box you have id for and make sure it is of adequate size for any packages you'd expect..

[1 Points] DrugsEtc:

If you have the money, buy a fake ID with that fake name on it.

i cant think of time i've had to show ID to pick up mail at the PO (in the US). they will have me sign and print my name and address on the little scanner/CC machine.

Isn't there a redelivery option?

[1 Points] NashHarvey:

head on over to r/fakeid and get one with the fake name on it

Every time I've gone to the post office to get mail they've asked for ID. And if I'm getting mail for someone else, they've wanted to see that person's ID, and sometimes mine too. I'd be surprised if they gave it to you without, but I guess you've got little to loose by trying, worst case scenario say you didn't bring it because you didn't realise you needed it.

I'd be worried about leaving it too though, I don't know if unclaimed mail is more likely to be searched or anything.
