$20 to whoever can help me clear this stuck transaction (double spend, RBF, whatever).

First off, I'm gonna say that I went to gifted schools and such growing up but I get the picture that I am not as smart as most people on this sub. Hence why I'm offering the money. I think I really might need someone to walk me through this.

First let me explain what happened. I sent money from my electrum wallet to AB. I barely had enough to cover what I wanted and I didn't understand how bitcoin transaction fees really worked so I set fee at 0. Obviously I see how dumb this was now. It's been nearly 3 days and the transaction has no confirmations. I figure I was totally fucked but I see now that you can double spend to clear stuck transactions.

So far I've read a guide and tried to use coinbin which didn't work, and I also tried using a program called Gansta which did not work. I think I might have to end up using bitcoin core. From what I understand I just have to create an identical transaction and increase the fee? Electrum doesn't allow for double spending.

Can anyone help me out? If you can successfully walk me through this I will send $20 worth of BTC. I just got paid today so it's no problem. This is a 4 year old account with lots of history and I wouldn't just fuck somebody over, you'd really be doing me a huge favor.

Basically there's really not much you can do. I was in the same situation and you can't always increase the fee for a transaction already sent. Just wait a few days or in you're unlucky, a couple weeks, and it will appear in the wallet you tried to send from. That's it really, just be patient. I've been there and done that and it sucks but your coins will be back in the end.

The recipient has to have explicitly opted-in to RBF. Most sane venues that accept Bitcoin do not do this, because it would allow them to be scammed. They also must be using very recent Bitcoin software that supports RBF (it was only just rolled out). For these reasons, it's extremely unlikely that RBF is actually a viable option for you in this situation.

You'll probably just have to wait the three days for it to drop out of the mempool and send it again then.

Wait it out it will get returned to your electrum

Thank you everyone. If it gets returned after 72 hours in electrum I will donate the $20 to a project of this communities choosing. I feel like thats more fair, there would be a way for me to prove I did this right? Like in electrum you can choose to view the blockchain page for that transaction, I could just link that right?

If he makes a deposit into alphabay in the meantime, won't he lose his original transfer since AB switches wallet addresses with each transaction?
