So I am using signal to communicate with IRL customers. Are there any optional settings that I should have turned on to maximize security? Like disappearing messages (which don't actually seem to be disappearing for me?) Also how much protection does Signal actually give you? Like I know its great in the case that a custy gets busted and the try to flip him and get him to snitch. Theres no messages (provided disappearing messages is working) and the police can't subpoena Whisper Systems to get the messages as they don't have access. In what other cases does using Signal protect me? Like any situation where someone tries to set me up like referring a "friend" to me who is actually LE, am I protected by Signal at all in this case since I'll be talking directly to LE if I say something incriminating I'm still basically fucked aren't I?
I'm just looking for any advice on how to configure Signal to be the most secure and some examples of what types of situations it would protect you in and what it would not protect you in.
