Vendors Why Do You Still Post AT Post Offices?

I honestly just couldn't help asking this after seeing the caliconnect raid.

As a vendor, we never use post offices everything goes out at a post box.

If your a large scale vendor needing to ship with tracking why not GET other people to post your packages at post offices? Just the part of a vendor allowing himself to be RECORDED on CCTV posting out drugs is beyond my understanding.

They've even got hidden motion detection cameras outside of post offices in colorado so they can still get your plates & face throwing it in the box, likely to do with weed being legalized and lots of ppl exporting to other states.

There are postboxes all over the country. Literally in the middle of nowhere down country lanes etc. The Royal Mails infrastructure is quite impressive. I once watched a video where they followed a single letter. It was picked up from a postbox, driven to the sorting centre, then to an airport, flown to scotland, then taken to another sorting centre, then driven to the local post office, then driven to a small pedestrian ferry, then the postman hopped on a quadbike and drove across country to a remote little cottage to deliver a birthday card. Next day.... All for 62p!

The problem for some vendors is they may want tracking/proof of delivery for large orders.

June 11, 2015 Larsen learned that Caliconnect was estimated to be the 18th largest vendor on Silk Road with an estimated sales volume at $1,250,248.65.

Does anyone know where I can find this "list"? I'm curious to see who did what.

most boxes are on camera except for a few strange ones in my town that are just in a residential neighborhood...even then, could be on camera, i dont know.

some packs dont fit in those boxes.

What do you suggest vendors who have very large packages do? Like weed or xanax vendors? The street boxes don't allow for boxes that size.

Well, if you're doing international shipments then you have to post at the post office. Also, if the box is too big for drop off then you have to go to the post office.

DMUKVENDOR That may explain why yours is the only one that arrived within a couple days! every other order is at least 4 days late.

To answer OP's question obviously using the blue box is better. For large orders you simply break it down into smaller orders and distribute them among different blue boxes.

But what about shipping supplies? It seems that setting foot inside the post office is necessary if you want postage + priority mail envelopes. The priority envelopes are free but some post offices won't let you take them without buying stamps/postage first (I sent a friend in to do this and that was what happened).

Any advice?

To obfuscate any footprint you might have. Ship this way, ship that way, ship every other way. And I wouldn't be surprised if no one in the post office knows how to work the cameras when they do have them. And I wouldn't be surprised if the SD cards in them are not formatted correctly or missing or if the camera isn't connected to anything. Or they just put up those decoy ones you can get for like $15 at Home Depot. They are super cheap. Ask anyone who works for them.

Those vendors get lazy. I live in a place that is physically impossible to put a camera on every blue box. It's too populated and they'd go broke before they even touched every box just in one area. But I feel ya, vendors nowadays get too comfortable and start taking shortcuts.

That's why I called it quits. I'm too lazy

maybe a newb question, but why not use fedex or UPS?

I don't doubt that. But the best thing about the post in the UK is the express 9AM and 1PM next-day options. They are guaranteed up to £500 so you know they won't be late or get stolen.

A g of meth costs £175. Would you just send that much cash with a first class stamp on it? No, you'd send it registered, and you wouldn't have a guilty concience making you act strange in the post office queue.

The vendor himself doesn't have to go to the post office. But as a vendor, you have to remember that you are running a mail-order business. You could be called upon to send by any of the mail types, so being scared to go to the post office is a bit of a handicap at work in your job.

Ive seen American drug buyers scared of the postman, but I never thoiught I'd see a British mail-order Drug vendor scared to go inside a post office.

The trick is to join the queue, don't panic, and don't shout anything out aloud. It makes people jump and draws attention

I AM mainly posting first class, without pipes at the moment, but the good thing about express is it is never opened, lost, or late. So the cameras which some post offices have, and some don't, ar no different to the scores which record your journey from home to the post boxes you rotate.
