Welp, that Bitcoin transfer to Alphabay apparently just screwed me.

Last night I bought a bit of coin, and shortly afterward transferred a bit over to my AB market wallet. I'm using the MultiBit client as a go-between. The transfer into my middleman wallet went fine, but the outgoing transaction to AB came up as "pending/unconfirmed". After a few hours, it still sat there, with a white square for the status instead of a check. Not showing up on blockchain. I decided to sleep on it and see if it would work itself out.

Next day, still there. I exported my wallet and then did a reset blockchain and transactions. Well, it reset everything...and the last, problematic transaction is gone...along with the Bitcoin.

So, I attempted a transaction to an AB wallet, which changes every time you deposit. Now I'm unsure if I should even try depositing to this wallet anymore, considering I apparently just lost a couple hundred bucks because...well, I have no clue. Anyone got any advice?

Update: well, when it was all said and done, I could not get a single person on a single website to understand what actually happened. I'll simply put it this way: beware transferring over wireless connections. My local wallet recorded a transaction that apparently was never sent to the network. My coin left my local wallet, but ceased to exist anywhere else. I'm not sure if my connection dropped, if the client bugged out, or what the hell happened, but regardless of what anyone says, yes, your coin can simply be lost.

Alphabay is the devil.

I'm not the best with btc, but I'll try to help, as I believe I had a similar problem a while ago. When you say you exported your wallet, did you create a new wallet to import it into? Also, I'm assuming you exported the MultiBit wallet, right? If that's what you did, the btc should show up in your middleman wallet, I believe.

Is there no record of the transaction on Alphabay? If you can get the btc address that you sent to, or the transaction id, that information would be useful for you.

Hopefully, someone else can come in and offer more help. I know how frustrating these types of issues are. I'm fairly confident that you'll be able to fix this and get your money back.

Multibit will sometime not update after while. I have had it show the transfer as not being completed, but after restarting it the transaction was done.

Are you sure your account on Alphabay doesn't show the new coins?

So many dumb persons here...

Ignore the alphabay aspect, it's just your wallet that went wrong. If a transaction isn't confirmed within 24hours by the blockchain, the tx will be rejected. It can happen sometimes... Have you not added a fee?

Go to your exchange history, see to what BTC address the coins were sent to (thus the mbit address), and check on blockchain whether they are still in that wallet, follow them from there. 90% chance they are still on that address

I don't think Alphabay is behind this, if they wanted to fuck you, they'd probably let the coins go through.

Sad part is that I just don't believe you. Txids don't just "disappear" from the blockchain.
