If I use mullvad am I somewhat safe?

So I was using tails for a little while but recently I have been reading that you really don't need it if you are just a buyer. I am now currently using mullvad and I would like to know if I'm going in the right direction to secure my anonymity

Everyone has a different opinion on this. Its your safety so you need to decide if its worth risk. VPNs offer some security depending on the service and whether or not they cooperate with LE. It'll hide your browsing from your ISP I believe. The advantage to Tails is that it offers an OS where you don't have to worry about files being on your laptop. Some argue that Tails is overkill for personal buyers, some will say you should use it. Its all about your risk profile.

Keep using TAILS. Yeah, it's somewhat overkill for a personal use buyer, but it works, and if shit goes south for some reason in the future, it's damn easy to 'clean' a computer by pulling out a USB instead of formatting the hdd. And it's psychological security too - instead of hoping your other options were enough when the boot comes through the door, you get to rely on ye olde 'thank fuck for TAILS'.

How is Tails overkill? It is dead simple to run and makes a lot of sense to keep your normal online activity on one OS and your Tor activity on another.
