I2P + Tor = Markets up 24/7

The I2P network is similar to Tor but DDOS is not possible on it.

Markets could provide an alternate way to access the market through I2P alongside the Tor hidden service. This way the market can be reached through Tor and I2P, so even if .onion is down users can still reach the market on I2P.

Using I2P might be a little bit harder than firing up the Tor Browser Bundle, but in times like these it would worth those extra steps to access a market even when it's under DDOS on Tor.

We had a good i2p marketplace, multisig, smart admins, the whole package. Nobody wanted to use it though because 'durr i2p is hard' so they closed up shop.

Also DoS attacks are still possible, there are some good fixes for certain known attacks but it's a young project and lots of stuff would pop up if everyone started using it.

That being said diversifying the marketplaces and more markets in general is a good idea.

I don't understand why you are getting all this back talk. It's the same shit answers being regurgitated over and over.

Yes we all know TMP shut down and it happened to be on i2p. That does not mean i2p was the reason it was shut down. TMP had a Tor gateway too.

Sometimes it seems like everyone around here enjoys being scammed and repeating history over and over. They especially dislike rational discussions about potential ideas.

I just don't understand this statement. What is this based on? Because we haven't seen a DDOS before? If you can access the website you can DOS it. The flaw in Tor was there from the beginning, it just took time to find and exploit it. I2P is not in widespread use so nobody cares to attack it. That's the only difference. This is like Mac users thinking they were more secure because OS X is somehow magical. No, just nobody cares enough.

Yeah TMP really took off.

I2P hasn't proven itself through time like Tor... a compromise to one would be a compromise to both.

I don't understand why people complain about I2P being to hard to set up if Tails is equipped with it. Maybe I2P in Tails is a newish addition.

[0 Points] ShulginsCat:

I don't get it. What prevents someone from dosing both?

Except theres no easy or safe way to use i2p, the network is slow and cant find pages worth shit, vanity addresses require jumping through hoops to access and raw addresses are a solid block of text. Yeah lets jump onto a barely used insecure network because the current crop of market admins are shit at running a website.
