I'm Sorry Agora!

I had to quit you today.

I grew ever so weary of the thought of having to spend hours on page loads, deposits, and log-ins every few weeks just to place personal supply orders. My problem was not so much my personal time wasted. It was the reality that my vendor was experiencing the same issues but on a larger scale. Not knowing if the vendor can even log in created stress on my copping deeds.

This stress has become so large that not even the eventual delivery of my glorious bounty could cure. Today was copping day. The holidays meant that I, of course, had burned through everything so needed my vendor to send today. So on the East Coast i got up at 7am to line the all the ducks so my West Coast Vendor would have the order when he crawled out of bed. I was waiting outside the bank at 8:55am to make the deposit for a LBC contract.

Thus far my strategy was perfect,

But then, the familiar tab failures spit some spit in my eye. It took me 90 minutes to get in and get the coins transferred. Sadly, I realized that my regular purveyor had gone poof recently so I had to find another counselor of cool. I went to the profile of this source-eror I had wanted to try and very casually they had mentioned that the currently were on Evo as well and to find them there is there were impotency issues at Agora.

During the infinite page loads I also found your comments on deepdotweb about down times. I was pretty disappointed at not only the lack of substance or future plan answers, I instead saw a bunch of excuses that all carried no hope. And you also added some non-truths and fish stories that further added to my flaccidity. I think nothing would have been better then that something.

So considering my shortage of poisons on hand, I figured I would try Evo today. After 30 minutes of page errors I was able to xfer my coins of bit from your greek loins and ship them to Evo. After my coins arrived I was able to survey the entire market and place the order in under 5 minutes. 5 human minutes! Mt vendor was popping on and off like it was a real website and got my order immediately processing and it is on the way.

If it is indeed law running Evo then good for them on having competent tech guys on a Federal Salary. I am but a minnow to them so I am comfortable. The process was liberating, exciting and hopeful for a future of darknet convenience as it should be. I I have been your loyal patron and social defender from the start. But this parting is not sorrowful as it should be. It is liberating to know that I am back in control.

So with the pain caused by the priapism I got when I experienced the Evolution revolution, I leave you with the following:

Though the night was made for loving, And the day returns too soon, Yet we'll go no more a roving By the light of the moon.

This is the terminal, the break. Beyond this point, on lines of air, You take the way that you must take; And I remain in light and stare-- In light, and nothing else, awake.

Farewell to thee, farewell to thee Thou charming one who dwells in shaded bowers One fond embrace ere I depart

Since there's no help, come let us kiss and part. Nay, I have done, you get no more of me; And I am glad, yea glad with all my heart.

This reads like a really pathetic break-up letter

[26 Points] Throwaway_concept:

You tried way too hard to sound elaborate and smart. Agora has some issues, but it's the most secure market and has never fucked over a customer. I'd rather suffer downtime sometimes and use the market that was the ONLY one to go down to change server locations because of the Tor exploit that was released. Also, this subreddit isn't for you to complain about how slow Agora is and how you moved to Evo. No one gives two shits.

Wait you mean sometimes if I want to get drugs and other illegal shit shipped to my door the website won't be smooth, load fast, or be up all the time?

Agora is shit but has the best vendors around. If all the Agora vendors switched to Evo I'd forget about Agora as quick as I would forget the random girl I came in and might be pregnant. But in all honesty we shouldn't be complaining about this and we should realize all the safety measures and hard work the group running the site goes through to keep the site safe and running. Yes it is shit and Evo runs better but the fact the something like agora even exists is fucking amazing. I'll still be using Agora because of quality of vendors on there. Also read this, it might clear up some things about the shittyness of the website http://www.reddit.com/r/AgMarketplace/comments/2f4ym8/agora_availability_downtime_faq/

You just gave me an idea. Wait while I crunch some numbers.

god I am dumb. I want to find out the best time to log into Agora based on the 38k rows of data I have collected.. anyone want to lend a hand?

sitename, speed, connection_time(lag),date,time

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1CSGjut8dg-6fCXjVI2sIr0Vul6P8yTgYLOVNOihZAiE/edit?usp=sharing

if someone can do something cool here..

I know man, I used to be the most fanatically devoted, die-hard heavy-duty agora-fanboy, but after trying Evo for just a few minutes, realizing you can actually browse (!) and order shit within a matter of seconds (!!!) I'm sold.

Of course, it'll only be a matter of weeks before the influx of people like you and I onto evolution turn it into an even bigger piece of shite than agora. Oh well, enjoy it while it lasts.

[4 Points] Nobu7:

Still 100 times better than Shit Road 2.

[2 Points] Hambone0326:

It was the reality that my vendor was experiencing the same issues but on a larger scale.

I think this is the biggest/best bit we can all take away from here, concerning Agora's downtime.

[2 Points] DeepMeds:

Evo are good

[3 Points] hrmbus:

lol right on.

Some advice though: Never trust ANY market with your coin.

Even the established ones. I can attest t that :(

Okay.

As a vendor, I l;ike the fact that Agora has gone longer than the 3 previous markets put together without getting busted or robbing us.

I think agora will close down in an orderly fashion and retire, rather than keep going until it fails. Also, it has a decent tumbler built in. Everything is tumbled, and when you withdraw, its instant. You get somebody else's coins that were tumbled yesterday.

No tumbler can possibly hide a marketplace's commission wallet. Every deposit has 5% sliced off each transaction, so a taint analysis for the number of possible connections with other wallets reads like "1, 1 , 2 , 3 , 1 , 2 , 1375 , 2"

Here is Agora's commision wallet, which is automatically emptied every few bitcoins

https://blockchain.info/address/1HC3dc4DubRat1P39YBBkwVRbph3ijbtPQ

The first thing to note is that 81,000 bitcoins have been earned from their 5% cut - more than enough to buy a second server! So the fact that they haven't, and the site still remains in beta makes me think they are discussing when, and how, to pack it all in.

Forget about clicking on the graph features - they return an error on wallets that have seen this much action. But note that agora stopped taking profits through it on August 15th.

Post-existential-crisis-enlightenment-phase engaged. Why are we here? Where are we going? No one knows, but no one.

[1 Points] youtakesally:

If they are so concerned about security they would implement mandatory multisig. They are more concerned about their money (which is obvious, but not what they said) and having the possibility of running away with it.

[1 Points] sharpshooter789:

I don't think the admins explanation for the sites instability is bullshit. They are the largest darknet market and their old so I'm sure there is a large stash of bitcoins.

I would be surprised if there were not hackers attacking these markets daily. Hell I bet some of the markets are comprised and the hackers are waiting for the escrow to build up before they steal.

Great post bro! Nice prose!

[0 Points] bafflesaurus:

Strange. Agora was perfectly usable and not slow at all when I was using it throughout the summer.

[0 Points] dastampmasta:

Dont wait until the last minute to order.Problem solved.

I agree with SRsub though lol. This sounds like a middle schooler breaking up with their boyfriend through a note.

[-1 Points] crazynmoody:

Want some cheese with that whine? Why the need to document such a long account about why your quitting. Just quit and be done, no need to broadcast such a thing. Do you publicise all your decisions? Hey world! I just decided I don't want ketchup on my burger... Angora won't change its ways and compromise its security measures for a few individuals who can't have any patience, even though the activities they are partaking in are highly illegal. One would think waiting a little longer for more security is a fair trade.

[-4 Points] None:

There are just some things you can't get anywhere other than Agora, since certain vendors, a lot of the big-time ones have chosen for whatever reason to use it so you have to use it if you want their product. I see no other way around that, for instance you will only find mescaline on Agora because GammaGoblin is only on there

[-2 Points] someone-who-is-me:

Don't let the door hit you in the ass.

[-4 Points] bomigz:

Hah, like Agora gives a shit....theyve made it work so far and they have at least 40 million in coins so, nice try

Congratufuckinglations this is the first post I've stopped reading after the first sentence. You are a faggot kid gtfo the darknet market you ungrateful piece of shit. Ow no I can't wait 5 mins for agora load because I'm a dirty smack head. You give addicts a bad name.
