How people really get caught

People like to think that LE has this incredible surveillance power to take people down, and they're watching your every move. This isn't true. Although LE can potentially be corrupt, they do not have a lot of power. LE wants you to think that they're a highly effective organization capable of catching criminals. In reality, they're lazy fucks infighting and trying to seize to most asset forfeiture dollars. Most of them don't really have much of any technical ability.

What will most likely get you caught is a snitch. Keep quiet about your activities and avoid letting out more information than necessary to people you know and work with. This especially goes to resellers. The best way to protect yourself is to fly under the radar.

LE can do pretty much anything they want, short of breaking established crypto. It is a question of focus based on budgetary constraints.

Many of us here think of LE as our enemy, but it might be more accurate to see them as an opponent in a specific battle. I have to believe that, despite an alarmingly high number of corrupt cops, LE are really are worried first and foremost about public safety. Individual cops might often behave to the contrary, and fuck them for it, but overall, law enforcement agencies genuinely focus on what they think the greatest harm is.

And that just isn't us. We probably just get in their way. The DEA are fighting billion dollar cocaine armies, and having to pull money away from that to investigate a few mail order fentanyl overdoses probably sucks for them. Even the DEA, who do nothing but address illegal drugs to the tune of billions a year, knows they are better off spending money combating cartel-built submersible subs than eavesdropping on the darknet. Cost:reward.

Just a humble stream of semi-consciousness rant.

Eh sorta true. If LE tries, they can catch anybody they want, the thing is is that they dont really ever try.

And for gods sake do not buy and sell things on the darknet with the same names or accounts.
