So about this monero... Is this good course of action?

Looks like monero may become the new bitcoin soon so I'm trying to learn exactly how to go about doing this correctly. Still have a lot to learn but wanted to ask the community if this process would still be anon?

Circle > clearnet electrum > tumbler > darknet electrum > shapeshift > mymonero > market

For the time, I'm planning on using mymonero wallet until I can get the hang of generating my own private wallet. So would that be a good way to go about it? Is it also ok to access shapeshift & mymonero wallet on tails/tor? Any help is appreciated - thanks!

Not even remotely. All of this is pump & dump speculation. Previously it was DASH and Ethereum, now we've moved on to the next shiny object.

In terms of ease-of-use, Monero currently offers little, if anything, beyond bitcoin. By all means, play around with Monero, but it's going to go nowhere on DNMs, certainly over the short term. Look at how much confusion you yourself are having figuring it out. When it's enabled on AlphaBay, I'd be very surprised if it was used in more than 1 every 500 transactions – and those few transactions will be done mostly by people who have already accumulated some through mining.

Why not just go Circle > Shapeshift > MyMonero > Market ?

No that is a completely wrong course of action. Because you pretty much tell Circle that you are sending coins into a tumbler. Most tumblers are shady as fuck, and the worst part is that they can relate your transactions into and out of the tumbler.

I hope you are not sending into a darknet tumbler like Helix, everyone knows why people use Helix and its no secret, Circle immediately finds out that you have used your account to send coins to a darknet activity. BAM.

Infact there are only a few tumblers and most of them pump out btc tainted by DNMs.

You should be sending Circle (Btc) -> Poloniex or Shapeshift -> Get your Moneros -> Send to another Monero wallet -> From this wallet send to market.

Your trace ends at Poloniex or shapeshift, they will know where the moneros you converted went, but nothing after that. You can just send it into another XMR wallet and use them as you wish. If you use Polo/SS over TOR all links to the Btc you bought are pretty much broken right here.

I don't understand why people are so afraid of terminal and command lines.... It's just using words and some basic knowledge of linux.... People bitching about monero not having a GUI should just wait... Honestly because without knowing how it works or being able to control your money on a lower level then a website could spell trouble

Scammers from EVO used BTC and didn't get caught yet. So, I will stay with BTC. We'll see after ten years of fluctuation what will happen to monero - because I do not like any experiments.

Definitely have a look at my post on the matter of Monero and its terrible shortcomings if used carelessly, here: https://www.reddit.com/r/DarkNetMarkets/comments/4zf25q/important_warning_to_those_who_want_to_use/

Why use a currency specially designed for DNM's? Kinda puts a whole new spin on the term "shooting fish in a barrel" if you ask me. Nothing wrong with BTC, and if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Everyone buyig monero has got the value fluctuating like crazy. Better off sitting on poloniex trading it back and forth for a couple cents. Least you get something for your efforts.

We're being sarcastic because its too new for really anyone to be wanting to give it a go yet it seems. Speculators and cryptominers (excuse the name I dont know what they calll themselves) are the early interest people. They're planning on what's going to happen when a few brave souls take the risk of trading in monero. If it goes well then you can worry about how to use them - gotta make sure you CAN first

The Cryptocurrency war is over and Bitcoin has won it.

If you're not using your own private wallet, what's the point of using monero in the first place? As long as you depend on third parties for your anonymity, you have none.

To be honest, all of this "pump and dump" is misinformed.

We are missing out on a great OpSec opportunity here, on the recent release of statements that dedicated blockchain analysis is here, we should be looking for ways to improve security, what better way than to change things up by doing transactions on 2 separate blockchains.

People need to stop spreading FUD about Monero just because they don't want the value of their bitcoins to change!

[0 Points] King_Money_2:

Honestly that doesn't seem like enough steps. After you deposit it to the market, you should withdraw it and turn it back into US dollars and then repeat your whole process 50 times. While you wait for confirmations on all those transactions you can spend your time searching for someone who accepts Monero and actually sells something you want to buy.

[1 Points] Scooba_Steve_12:

I haven't used shapeshift, but does it require your personal information? If it does then all of those steps are worth nothing.

I just downloaded a full node. It's only 10 GB or so. Then you can just send from your node to the market.

Monero is naff.

[1 Points] evilgold:

With how monero works you could just send direct from circle to shapeshift xmr to your market wallet. There is no block chain analysis that would allow circle to know anything other than that you converted to something else.
