Marked shipped in 3 minutes

So this is only really my second batch of orders from the DNMs, so I'm still not 100% on what all is considered normal practices in these sorts of transactions.

Anyways, it's pretty simple, I bought a thing, and it was marked as shipped 3 minutes later. Now, I highly doubt that a guy was hanging around the post office with illegal drugs ready to print out my address and ship as soon as the order's been put in (at least I hope not, holy opsec, batman.)

I don't really have much reason to believe that they'd just not send it, they've got pretty solid reviews, it looks like. They haven't messaged me either (I haven't messaged them, either, just yet. Gonna wait until after the promised arrival time passes in approx 3 days if it doesn't arrive.)

Just wondering if this is a normal thing, like vendors marking a product as shipped when they're actually just going to ship it next thing tomorrow morning, or if maybe there is some way to get shit shipped that fast that I'm somehow not aware of despite working in shipping and logistics for two years.

We mark the order shipped once we print the label, shipping is usually the same day but when it's later on the day (after 5) it will probably be actually shipped the next day.

Dont worry about it! :) it's normal.

deleted What is this?

They may very well have been logged in and browsing as you ordered.

Some vendors I've spoken to find it common practice to mark shipped when they take your address and get it ready for a label or print the label etc....

As /u/EricIsACracker said - this is basically the "Accepting" of an order since markets like AB don't have anything between Processing and Shipped...

I try to be the vendor I would want to buy from. I never mark shipped until it is in the blue box. If I was a buyer this gives me crucial, accurate information. Of course, vendor's want to take the short cut so they don't have to come back to mark shipped. Easier for them, sucky for buyers. Watch the lazy vendors downvote lol.

I won't lie. I mark it shipped as soon as the address label is ready for print, so as soon as it's copied onto the printer sheet. Only time it goes through accepted first is if I know it won't go out straight away for whatever reason.

My two cents. Some buyers don't finalize the order even when they got it. Marking order shipped instantly makes auto-finalization a bit earlier.

What's a thing?

Yep another vendor here, can say that it is normal. Generally means they are processing it/literally about to ship and have likely already paid/about to pay for postage and print your labels. Some vendors do not hold to this reputation however.
