Somewhat relevant question about postal carriers stealing mail

an acquaintence asked for advice about his mail carrier stealing his mail, and I get the impression that the mail is not contraband, though it is only an impression, as the person specifically stated that they didn't want to involve the police. Is there any possible way, if the mail being stolen is legal and legit, to catch a postal worker stealing it?

EDIT - disregard. I thought I was doing a friend a favor by trying to help him find a solution to his problem, and instead I get scolded for posting my tracking information, even though I clearly stated that this isn't my package, not my tracking, and the item is perfectly legal and innocuous. If you people can't even read the OP properly, I doubt you will be any help.

Fuckin a there is and you can sit on your ass the whole time. A properly placed camera, or 3, adds a feeling of security and means to investigte ones habitat.

You can get one for 60 bucks online. If its gonna be outside make sure its IP rating is sutible for your climate. If behind a window inside disable night vision lights at night if applicable. Use outdooe motion sensor lights. Have one aimed at the mailbox, make sure you can save the footage. Lots of bells and whistles involved.

Tldr: cameras can see when youre not home

Go to your local USPS office (the one where the package departed from) and tell them what happened. Also, why would you post tracking online? You revealed your location.
