Friend believes the government isn't watching us. Help me prove him wrong.

So my friend, who loves big government and trusts them like a fucking sheep, believes that the NSA program which was collecting metadata // breaking the law and violating our constitutional rights, has actually been terminated.

"The government shut down the program after Snowden blew the whistle." Links to government page claiming they no longer practice this shit

OBVIOUSLY they still do. I would wager whats actually going on is far far worse than what Snowden even blew the whistle on.

At this point in my life I just more or less assume the government has access to anything I do online, even if it is over TOR. (Tor is safer, but obviously not perfect.) Not saying they actively know everything, but have the tools to if they gave a fuck. Any texts or emails I just automatically assume are unsecure.

He (of course) said "Prove it." Naturally this is a pretty impossible task, but if anyone could assist me that would be great :)

Why does it matter so much? Tell him he's a fucking idiot and go on with your day.

So, the best "proof" this esteemed community could come up with is to lie to him and fake some thing as being from the government. You can't lie to someone to prove you're telling the truth. And if the best truth you can come up with is a lie, you might want to rethink your position.

Send him a gram of MDPV that'll clear that up

some sheeps are happy following...

Have drugs shipped to his house and have the vendor use a gov agency as the return address.

Unfortunately I know those types there isn't a whole lot you can do other than laugh at how ignorant they are.

Just tell him to get out from under his rock, or read the news.

Tell your friend to pledge allegiance to Al qaeda on his gmail account if he thinks the government isn't watching him. Hell tell him to speak his mind. Give it a little longer and that will be enough.

[1 Points] DontClickTheUpArrow:

I tend to think they're not as sophisticated as we give them credit for. What if Snowden is still working for the govt and all his "whistle blowing" was to make us believe they know more than they do. Not saying this is the case but is a possibility. Would they really let all these vendors operate if they knew everything going on?

[1 Points] HornyHebrew:

Why would you help him? Obviously he enjoys the thought of being watched over and "protected" by the govt

[1 Points] toss-1:

Why do you waste a post on nonsense?

[1 Points] sharkbetfarkets:

Set up a honeypot or steal his login with MITM. Show it to him, explain how the gov. does it

[1 Points] None:

you are both making assumptions. You are asking for a second whistleblower to pop up with more documents to proof your point.

[1 Points] Dokturo:

Smoke weed and think about it :)

[1 Points] Vendor_BBMC:

Any post starting with the word "so" is always wrong.

I can't be bothered to scan down and see that no reddit users have provided proof that they are watching for any government, but I don't need to.

How, pray tell, do you expect us to "prove him wrong"? All we will do is speculate.

Ive had government jobs in the past, and if I'd got caught looking on reddit instead of working I would have been in trouble.

Cops will be trying to catch criminals, not exchanging half-baked opinions with you liars.

[1 Points] wutang76xx:

Make him watch Zeitgeist the movie.

[0 Points] RIP_Meth_9000:

Yeah....democrats love that big government!!!! here are some links that should help :-)

[0 Points] criminality:

Have him watch Person of Interest. It's basically a documentary.

[-1 Points] noonehear:

Repeat this quote to him: "Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean that they aren't out to get you."

Also ask him "if the program was cancelled how do they track the terrorists?". This alone is proof.

Go now and make your friends head implode from cognitive dissonance.
