Bitcoin Price drop?

Is there any reason for the bitcoin price drop? Also, anyone think that vendors are going to stop taking non FE orders if the price keeps dropping? For example, if someone places an order today and doesn't FE, and bitcoin keeps going down vendors do you think vendors will just not ship it because they don't want to take the hit?

I will not be cancelling any orders due to the BTC drop, it's a risk I signed up for.

Hey TC here,

We will absolutely not be canceling any orders due to the drop in BTC prices. Call it a business expense if you will :) Why should the customer have to take all the risk?

We agree with GPJ and a shout out to all the other vendors as well that feel this way :)

Toke on reddit!

It's gonna go lower. We have 6-7 hours before china starts trading heavily (3 hours before trading actually starts), and when tht happens you can bet on $275 and possibly ~$240 when all is said and done. It's not likely to break below $200 this time, but you never know.

BTC price is like a roller coaster, it will rise again soon, its especially volatile during the holidays but I bet it will calm down very soon.

Vendors should def look into the exchanges that offer short selling or futures for hedging purposes. If you do enough business that the volatility effects you I'm sure you can get a partner to sign up and keep your name clean.

It sucks that coinbase takes 4 days to complete if the price goes down. Depends if they fix the BTC and dollar amount at the time you place the order, or set it the day the order completes. Works out 50/50 either way I suppose.

Many vendors will cancel an escrow order, or non-FE order as you put it, and just simply say re-buy before they ship.
