Risk of being scammed, how big is it really?

Everyday you see lots of threads regarding scammers, or selective scammers.

But if you take your precautions, only use vendors with good feedback, that is not being faked. Research the vendor on reddit or other forums.

How big is the risk?

Talking about vendors here, but and estimate regarding the markets would also be nice.

If you take the measure you speak of, and order domestically, then you should have at least a 95% success rate. While there is always a chance you could order from a vendor that started to selectively scam or pull and exit scam, if you've done your homework you should be able to recognize those signs before ordering. Plus, you didn't FE, right? Exactly.

That being said, the market you order on could just disappear like TE just did or Sheep, or Atlantis or any of the other ones but that's not the same kind of scam. Do you homework, play it safe, and you should be alright. Never spend money you can't afford to lose tho.

I think it's a low chance if you deal with reputable vendors or escrow order on a market with good staff. The only problem is even the most reputable vendor could turn scammer..

It's good to hear that you can have a very good succes rate with the DNM, it's a bit easy to get caught up in all the scam posts.

99% possibility to be scammed. You are of course risking your money to buy from someone you don't know online with trust built based on the community. Even with the best vendors, they don't have a 100% success rates due to different complications. Pretty much the market is buy at your own risk.

It's called escrow, go and do some reading, then come back and ask something productive.
