Time for an open source DNM?

Perhaps this has been proposed before, and forgive me if it has, but it seems like we need an open source market. Some code that's not owned by any one market, but a framework that anyone can use to spin off their own market.

Markets get taken down all the time. It's a fact of life we have to recognize. But even when someone comes along with the balls (and stupidity) to operate a DNM, a ton of their time must go into software development, delaying the launch of the market. On top of that so many of these new markets are ridden with obvious security issues.

If we could create an open source market that was freely available to anyone who wanted to open a DNM we could improve security in the space as a whole and reduce downtime. Has this idea already been proposed? Is there already a team working on this? Is it on github? If not is there anyone else who would be interested in contributing?

Everyone always has these grandeous solutions for our woes with DNMs... DNMs literally could be bullet proof incredible revolutionairy completely safe sites IF it wasn't extremely illegal.

Its very profitable to work on the legal sides of website development and you can be far richer, and safer than if you were to build something for the DNMs. Simple as that.

Hey folks,

we at Tochka/Point open-sourced our marketplace, so feel free to participate in development, suggest features, report bugs or use code as you will.

Not only that, we're open about our plans regarding future developments and stuff we'll invest profits from marketplace operations. This is what people in intelligence community call Open-Source Intelligence (OSI), and it may sound counter-intuitive, but is the only way to go in our risky business.

Cheers

So you aren't saying there should be an open source market, but you want a market script you can just use and make your own market? Lmao

How exactly would that fix anything? There would be so many scam markets it wouldn't even be funny.

This idea is fucked

[1 Points] MiddleEarthArchitect:

Wasn't it torbazaar or openbazaar or something? And there are ones made to be even built into the b lockchain with different stores and users and all. Google it.

Wouldn't that be less secure? I mean I suppose you have less of a chance of exit scamming, but it seems more hackable?

Done. Russian? run market Tochka open sourced their market less than a week ago. /r/DarkNetMarkets/comments/74p7q6/market_news_tochka_ddos_rebranding_etherium_ico/

IIRC Bitwasp started this, and then stopped as they were getting harrased by LE, even though it was branded just a generic Bitcoin marketplace framework.

OB is where it's at now, but it's not picking up much traction because a LOT of market users either aren't savvy enough or can't be bothered with running extra software above and beyond the Tor Browser.

We should all create and live by our own rules.

but then le can also view the code and use it against us.
