Is it a bad idea to use "Fake Name C/O Real Name" when ordering?

I understand that it is never a good idea to order under a fake name or under a name not associated with your drop's address. Supposedly, that can very quickly turn LEO's focus onto you. Is it also a bad idea to do what I listed in the title? If you're not familiar with it, C/O or "Care Of" is basically meant for those who don't have a permanent address. "Real Name" receives mail on behalf of "Fake Name" and is entrusted with the responsibility of delivering it to them. From what I can tell, "Real Name" shouldn't really have any knowledge of what is inside the package, given that it is illegal to open other's mail. If you leave the package sitting next to your door and the cops bust in, you could plausibly argue that "Fake Name" simply hasn't shown up yet to pick up his package.

Given that I never see people talking about doing this, I am inclined to think that it is an awful idea. Why is that the case?

I don't think that it's necessarily a bad idea, more so it won't make much of a difference if you do that or not. Anyone can mail you anything so why use C/O?

I like your reasoning, logical based on history. But...I find it to be antiquated and counter-productive. So rarely used it's likely to draw more scrutiny. Any time I've used a c/o or a fake name, it turned into an extended conversation with the letter carrier or postmaster. Doesn't add plausible deniability once it is realized the name is a fake, quite the opposite.

You can register a PO box in a business name and have things shipped to that biz name. That way they aren't tied to your real name.

Here's the bottom line. The c/o is irrelevant except if you truly need to put that - if you'd put a c/o for a normal pack then a c/o is appropriate for a DNM pack. Otherwise it's irrelevant and might even add a second glance to the pack. A c/o won't save your ass and a lack of one won't put you in prison. It's about possession. That's it. If you possess a pack of drugs in someone else's name it's the same result as possessing in your name. If you are getting CD'd you are getting CD'd. In both cases all that matters is what happens during the raid or Le encounter.

In short, address all packs as they would be addressed if you ordered from Amazon to your drop. There is no magic loop hole or technicality.

I think it's a decent idea OP
