Stop it! My poor sides... Please, for all that is good and holy!
[38 Points] synthetic_sound:
Drug laws need to change, but please don't let the poster boy for the movement be a guy who was caught trying to have other people murdered. That would only prove everyone's point.
[29 Points] None:
Hmm...yes, pardon the white nerd who ordered hits on 6 different people.
But the niggas in jail for peddling coke and heroin? Fuck them hoodrats! They deserve life.
Reddit logic. /s
[15 Points] HalfBakedIndividual:
lol why does he deserve a pardon though... even though he had a cool website he was totally chill about killing, you seen the transcripts?
[12 Points] Aluminum_Foil_Hat:
Barack pardoned 10 non-violent crack offenders recently. Maybe in 20 years there will be a sympathetic president.

You must be delusionally naive if you think this useless petition will have any amount of impact at all.
[4 Points] None:
Even if this was a valid and safe way for us to see him even make a statement, he's more likely to pardon Snowden and we can all see how that's going.
[7 Points] jlixx:
Tip: Use 10 Minute Mail. Change.org spams you after you sign a petition. Just don't repeat your signature by using different aliases.
[5 Points] 99999999999999999989:
May as well make a petition to be able to send Ross macaroni necklaces to cheer him up. LOL
[4 Points] djcodeblue:
Woo! I was the 1,000th signee! I've seen the market before on the Tor network from a college roomate before, but I've never made an account, purchased, or stayed on the darknet because it's not a place of interest for me to browse but I always follow what's going on because the Dark Net is very interesting for me to read about. I followed this entire Silk Road case ever since it first got onto the news and seeing the life imprisonment is just absolutely crazy.
[1 Points] None:
You actually think anybody here is going to put their REAL personal information into something like that? DO NOT SIGN THIS PETITION.
[5 Points] D1STURBED36:
your delusional if you think there gonna go "well a bunch of internet people signed there name, better let him off the hook completely"
[3 Points] tanzmeister:
Um, pick your battles, gentlemen. This ain't one of them.
[3 Points] CheekyDive:
Fucking done, for all the good it'll do
[2 Points] D33f:
I first read this as "President Barack Obama to pardon Ross Ulbricht", I was like "woa shit how in hell did that happen" until I realised my mistake.
And yeah I'm gonna agree with the rest here, don't hold your breath.
[2 Points] raveiskingcom:
Commuting the sentence is more likely.
[2 Points] custyyyy:
never gonna happen. nice thought though!
[2 Points] mustypoop:
To everyone whining about him putting hits out like its the most abhorrently inexcusable thing ever, remember he had mostly good reason for doing so. He didn't wake up one day and decide he'd fancy having some innocent people slaughtered. It seems his life and/or freedom were in danger from lowlifes extorting him. So fuck them and good for him for protecting himself. Its too bad the hitmen were UC feds and not real.
[2 Points] auto587643:
Obama recently nominated Loretta Lynch to be his AG. Unlike Holder, she's a fucking anti-drug hardliner who's all for mandatory minimums and asset forfeitures. Judging by this move of his, I don't think a pardon for Ross is forthcoming anytime soon from him...
[2 Points] WhoresIsland:
To all saying he killed people or ordered people killed:
Ross was not charged for anything murder related
He was not charged with "ordering hits."
All of his charges were drug, money or computer related
He's been sent to life in prison for all 100% victimless crimes
That initial murder stuff was clearly well executed character assassination by the prosecution...
People, do your research. This IS a tragedy in every sense. DO YOUR RESEARCH

Honestly, unless you make it easy to do (one click), it's not worth my time, because it won't do shit, and there are plenty of lemmings who can sign instead.

Hey everyone, I just wanted to say that I started this petition and was pleasantly surprised to see how quickly it's grown, how people are sharing it and so forth. So first of all I appreciate that helohe shared it and the discussion you're all having. Second, I know some people have some serious concerns about Ross and this whole case, so if anyone would like to offer any specific feedback or ask any questions about the petition itself, the motivations behind it, or what we might reasonably expect to accomplish I'm happy to take a shot at them. Thanks again!
[1 Points] shitterplug:
Lol. Are you fucking serious? The dude committed some serious crimes. He's not some slummy weed dealer. He paid to have people killed. You guys just look right over that and blame the war on drugs. This thread is ridiculous.
[1 Points] None:
why would one bother with that? your just giving LE another blacklist to target people.
[1 Points] thenewproblem:
lol good luck he's been burned for the god of light aint no coming back from that....
[1 Points] Zoominsquad:
doxxed af
[1 Points] None:
No, he broke the law like anyone else and should serve his time. You guys are insane.
[1 Points] droopus:
He couldn't do it anyway, Federal regulations do not support it. An inmate typically has to finish his sentence before applying for a pardon.
[1 Points] squirrel42:
Which will do more: praying for him or signing this petition?
[1 Points] droopus:
Presidential Pardons can only be issued five years (at least) after the sentence has been served.
And he has no chance of a commutation. Total waste of time.

Fun fact: Kennedy was gonna legalize weed his second term, but got assasinated. He smoked weed on the reg to control his pain from his back injury he got in the war, and he dropped acid at least once. Could be one of the reasons the CIA had him killed...
[0 Points] i-like-mdma-and-mda:
He'll be out by 15 it will be a different world by then :-)) .
[-1 Points] None:
He shouldn't be pardoned. People are so ignorant. You do the crime, you get the time; if you call a hit on someone and start a massive criminal marketplace, you kinda deserve jail time.
[0 Points] None:
I want him behind bars, not because of him being a drug kingpin (which is really fucking cool and I hope this cyberwave of drugs doesn't die or slow down a little bit), but because he wanted people murdered. what the fucking shit?
[0 Points] None:

[-1 Points] Ishmael_KingOfTheSea:
He was guilty and I mean, Ulbricht was only brought to trial because word leaked out about the hit men he hired. The dude doesn't really need a pardon lol. It's like saying Al Capone needed one...

I hope everyone realises that this will have no impact on the sentencing regardless of the number of signatures.
