Bank of America deposits asking for ID

Last couple times I've gone to BOA to buy bitcoins I was asked for ID, treated with a lot of suspicion and also told I couldn't make the deposit without knowing what state the account was in.

I cancelled both transactions and ended up going with a different bank.

Anyone else having this issue or is this just limited to my particular branch?

I've gotten the same thing. If you have to use Bank of America just have that shit ready and be polite and respectful.

Wells Fargo is your best bet at never getting iD'd some branches do but I specifically find tellers that don't id and try and come back only when they work usually branches inside of Walmarts or super markets

Ever since I Started cash deposit, Like 6 months ago, I have been asked for ID, from bank of america to coop credit union. They were never really rude or suspicious about it, I figured it was mandatory, especially since you know some of their account info or something..

I have done from 200 to a 1300$ one I literally just did, and have never been questioned why or what I am doing. Every trader I uses, also seems to use a cover up account, like vending machine services, some corporation. Most of the time I have ID ready, very polite, and I am prepared to act as if I am a client of the traders cover up.

I am sending them money for a bill or invoice, working with them, buying machines, etc etc. OR that it is for a good friend across country. TRaders have given me state each time so that was no issue either. Honestly some of the tellers have even been super fucking nice to me, and helped me find the account when one trader shorted me info acidentally!

Lmfao but of course I feel suspicious as fuck, like well boys here I am compiling this case I feel. WAiting to be arrested anyday, with 100 different videos of all the deposits I've done, somehow traced to bitcoin and my orders. LMFAO!! So paranoid sometimes lol.

AS far As I know bitcoin is LEGAL as fuck, and it's none of the tellers business what the fuck the deposited money is for. So I don't think they can say too much or deny you.

IDK it's sketchy tho, I heard this id thing is relatively new.. Maybe it's a big secret undercover operation, they gathering all our IDs to help narrow down blackmarket users and vendors.. Spooky!

Remember they see 100s of people a day. The difference is you think you are doing something illegal.

uh.. you probably just went in there acting all sketch because you thought you were doing something illegal. BoA requires you to know the state the account is in, hence an "out of state" deposit. come on now. be a little smarter than that.

BoA never used to ask for IDs for deposits but I think they recently made it a requirement. Don't worry about it.

BoA started asking for ID in my area about a year and a half ago. Happened the same time at every branch. Either nut up and show your ID, or go to Wells Fargo.

If you're using LBC, most sellers will provide the state info if you ask. Knowing this now helps in the future, but many places do request ID. WF did last time I went there (not always though), BoA always has, chase bank does, some places don't ask, but I don't know what ones and they're usually few and far between. Sometimes this is also based on the amount being deposited, anything over $1,000.00, at almost every bank, there is a requirement to request proof of identification.

What this all stems from are anti money laundering laws.
