Recently seems like most LBC sellers ask for ID, even for bank deposits or in-person. Alternatives for anonymity?

Anyone else having this same issue? Apart from the legal risks I don't really want a random stranger having my dox if I don't have to.

I mean all they know if Mr. X bought bitcoins which is hardly anything to worry about if they even keep the info after they verify you. What legal risks?

I use LBC and buy BTC through one of the biggest vendors most of the times (the guys with 10k+ sales, 100% feedback). No questions asked. They don't keep anything, LBC doesn't care because they are just the middleman.

Lemassu, or some other cash-btc ATM. Bonus tinfoil points for no security cameras.

Just use cash bank deposit from a decent trader. Most big BTC traders on LBC will have a NO I.D fast transaction policy- You simply will write something along the lines of "I Heyfreshhhhh purchased $XXXX.XX amount of BTC from [Traders Username] on Localbitcoins.com" on the receipt and send the photo to the trader (AFTER REMOVING ALL EXIF DATA !!!).

They release the coins, buying coins is like buying stocks is all perfectly legal :-)

  1. It's not illegal to buy bitcoin so it doesnt matter.
  2. There is a checkbox that will filter sellers that do no require ID.
  3. Tumble.

[1 Points] TheGreatSkeletor:

If you are not comfortable giving your ID to people then do not trade with people that require ID. I have found the only LBC traders asking for some form of ID are the ones using paypal to make the trade. Like most of the other people in this thread have said buying bitcoin is not illegal. Just use a tumbler when sending your coins to anyone that needs BTC and you will not have to worry.

fake ids, I saw a vendor named wildwest or something along those lines selling them for 40 bucks

If you are in EU, I can recommend a couple of vendors for bank transfer (SEPA)
