How to detect a Honeypot?

In this case - by "honeypot" - I mean a trap set by a law enforcement agency, on the Darknet, for the sake of catching drug users. Seriously, what stops a cop from going on some Market (lets say Dream Market), setting up a too-good-to-be-true listing for weed, and then once you've finally ordered some, they arrive at your home trying to get a signature?

Nice try, officer.

I would check Winnie The Pooh's house. He loves honeypots.

Honeypots exist.

Tell tale signs are vague descriptions for multiple "hard drugs" and also weapons listings.

Caught a honeypot setting up on Apple a few weeks back that had an account on Alphabay that I found via grams infodesk/pgp.

Fuck pigs yo.

=)

Whats to say my enemy didnt use my address. You mean to tell me officer thats all it takes to get an innocent man thrown in jail? Dont know why the sigbature means a conviction who the fuck denies mail addressed to them, even if u had no clue u were getting a package you might think maybe someone has sent you a gift or something. Dont see how a sigbature for a package with your fucking name on it=I ordered this package of drugs and had full knowledge and responsibility for it getting here.

Tbh it wouldnt be hard to get convictions but the time and resources put in just to catch a user dont add up. Better to put that into catching the market owners. A friend of a friend works for gchq and says all they care about are the owners of the sites. Not that hes a head honcho or anything and wouldnt tell anyone shit he wasnt allowed to tell them so take that with a grain of salt.

You become psychic.

No, sorry I mean you consult the community for reviews.

they do that for harder drugs not weed just not worth it. to convict someone on a controlled delivery they would have to admit knowledge of shipping time and contents

[1 Points] DrParagon:

They don't have any reason to. Receiving drugs in the mail isn't illegal.

[1 Points] tintreznor:

If they sell guns or poison.

Just... think about this : If you want to kill a tree, would you cut its leafs or it roots ?

Same here. Why would they want to catch an user instead catch a vendor ? thats just wasting time and a pretty stupid move.

What charges you can be acused for ? He wanted to do drugs, so we jail him. Thats just retarded.
