Update on "Undeliverable as Addressed" package and a lesson learned about USPS.

I made this post last week about a pack not being delivered and figured I would update as I finally managed to pick it up. Turns out the vendor did absolutely nothing wrong as far as the address label goes. Label was printed and all the information was there, including the apartment number. For some reason the mailman marked it "undeliverable as addressed" fucking twice in a row. The first time, I was a day late getting to the post office to pick it up, but when it made the loop and got sent back to me a second time, I went in a few hours after the failed delivery and picked it up no problem. The guy at the post office was even really confused as to why it didn't get delivered.

Bottom line, USPS fucking sucks donkey dick sometimes and is very susceptible to human error. However, I think their cluelessness helps us in the long run for the most part. Also, don't be so quick to blame vendors. They're people too.

this happened to me last summer when I went on vacation for a few weeks & didn't put my mail on hold. I ordered some personal amounts of coke and hash like a week before I was getting home so that i'd have something for me when I get back. Little did I know they marked my address as vacant literally two days before I got back & one day before my important mail came. I thought it was a cruel joke when I got home, all excited to dive into a couple lines and try out the new hash only to saunter down to my mailbox and see a new card over my apartment number/name that says "VACANT" and my mail is nowhere to be found. I almost thought someone stole my shit for a minute. So they returned everything to sender basically because my mailbox became so full of junk mail the 3 weeks i was gone they thought nobody lived there anymore. So obviously never seeing those packs again i tried doing the redirecting thing online with the tracking number but that doesn't always work. 700 usd down the drain and a tinge of paranoia since those packs have gone somewhere with my name on them. I let usps know that address was indeed not vacant and fucking re bought the same shit from the same vendors and those came fine a couple days later.

the lesson here is to put your mail on hold if away for longer than a week or two and you intend on getting your mail when you get back home.

I had something similar happen when i sent a pack to a friend it went undeliverable as addressed, he called and made sure it was all good and re set the delivery for the next day instead of going to pick it up and then the next day they delivered it to god knows where but wasnt his house and he called and asked and they told him that it was delivered at his box to ask the mailman but they had no idea , long story short usps sucks ass and fucks up a lot and they dont care

one time USPS had one of my priorty mail packs in some sort of an address-failure-loop. the address written on the label was correct but for some reason, probably due to an error in usps's computers, the pack was bouncing around the country to the same sort facilities for a few weeks until i talked with USPS customer service who said I'd need to pay for a "mail intercept", even though it was their fault. this was the only way for me to get my package unless i wanted to wait even longer to find out if it would ever stop looping back to the same sort facilities. USPS is run by the US government, it's no surprise they suck.

this happened to me too. address was good. they left a pink slip saying it was undeliverable as addressed.

i used to usps redirect service and it came the next day.

USPS is the worst sometimes. Have had lost packs before with no clue where they went (marked "delivered" but they weren't), I've seen them put mail in the wrong PO Box numerous time as well
