Mr. Lee's video tutorials, improved search function, and future enhancements

We've made a couple of significant changes at Mr. Lee's Greater Hong Kong Market, and we're excited to tell you about them.

First, though, we want to tip our hats to a certain very large and very successful market that recently decided to take some time off. It was refreshing to see a market make a graceful exit without scorching the earth behind it. The loss of a good market is a loss for the community, and we genuinely hope they come back soon.

In the meantime, we are offering to waive vendor bonds and give a 4% fee structure to any vendors from that market who want to try a multisig solution. Vendors with extraordinary reputation and significant volume may be offered additional consideration. Please contact me if you are interested!

Guide and video tutorials:

While waiting for mod approval to post this, I had someone suggest that we create a guide for Mr. Lee's Greater Hong Kong Market. In fact, we have one! It is on our subreddit at /r/greaterhongkong/ Our subreddit also has a small series of video tutorials explaining the basics of finding your public key for use with our multisig setup, and how to download and use our offline multisig tool. More videos are being produced, and will be available shortly. Check it out and feel free to ask us for help with anything you don't understand!

Search:

Our search has undergone a ground-up rewrite. We have improved the caching and result generation time, as well as expanding the combinations of searches available.

One of the suggestions we had over and over was that we allow people to search by package size, so a person who only wanted a few grams or a few pills of a product didn't have to wade through listings selling 500 pill packages or brick quantities. We implemented that at the very beginning, but now it has been improved to function as a standalone search, or in conjunction with any and all other search criteria, including listing dates. You can now search using any combination of available criteria. Are you looking for product "X" in quantities of one ounce or less? No problem. Do you want to see everything in category "Y," but only in packages of 100 or more? You can search for that, too!

We believe our search is unique, and a very strong point for our market. We plan to continue improving on it. In addition, we will shortly be adding a ships-from filter to both searches, and to product listings. This has been a popular request, and we are glad to implement it. If you have other suggestions for search improvements, please contact me.

Bitcoin security:

First of all, just to be clear, we are a pure multisig market. You never deposit any money with us. We never have control of your funds. In addition, we use a randomly generated nonce to transform your public address for every single transaction, adding an additional layer of security for both the buyer and the vendor. Blockchain analysis will not reveal the public key you register with us, and you need only keep track of one key no matter how many transaction addresses we generate.

In order to further increase security, we have moved all blockchain operations off-server. The server that connects to the blockchain does so only over TOR. That server connects to our web server only through a hidden service, and vice-versa. Should our web server ever be compromised, there is literally nothing there to identify anyone (as long as you use PGP on all messages sent through our system), and they would then only have the .onion address for our blockchain backend. Any attacker would have to de-anonymize and compromise our web server, then de-anonymize and compromise our blockchain server (which of course would be offline as soon as we suspected the first server was compromised), and EVEN THEN, there is nothing to take, because we don't hold on to your money!

Upcoming improvements (thanks to suggestions from you!): As mentioned, we will be adding a ships-from filter to all listings and searches. We will also be adding a ships-to filter to make it easier for buyers to find what they are looking for.

We will be implementing a two-step login process with a PIN or secret phrase, so our users cannot be phished with bogus URLs.

We are reviewing several other suggestions from both vendors and buyers, and we want to hear yours. Contact us with any questions or comments!

The time for multisig is now! Some markets are doing it right, and some markets are doing it wrong. Make sure to learn about multisig, and select the market that you feel best protects you and your money. We didn't add multisig on to our software at the end, we built our site from the ground up as a multisig solution, and we believe we've done it right. Come give us a look, and decide for yourself!

I've seen you post around here before. I remember your market announcement, too. I am all about multisig and I really hope your market takes off. You seem like you really want multisig to be used and I have seen you answering questions in the noob forum. Good luck and I will be there if you get some vendors selling the stuff I need.

[1 Points] young_k:

I know this is probably a "noob question" but I couldn't find it addressed in the FAQ or any posts on your sub - is this a asian only market? Are there US vendors? Are any countries "forbidden"?

[1 Points] NeverCallSaul:

The videos are great! Any site could use those to show how to get the public /private keys. You should share those with some of the other multi-sig sites. I think the community as a whole could really benefit from them. I'm still waiting for you to get some damn vendors. Hows that going?

[1 Points] HellBoyCome:

I really can see a future for your site, and all what needed is an honest Markets which do care to gain a trust by providing MultiSig feature, I wish you all the best and I hope all our favorite vendors will use your incredible site..even though you gonna need to do some little changes but is all good
