Didn't trip after 1 vial of TripWithScience Psilocybin liquid, no prior psychedelics experience, something I did wrong?

I am not heavyweight so my dosing would fall within average first-time dose ranges. I had eaten probably 3-4 hours prior, though, and have read a lot that people don't eat for 6+ hours, could that have something to do with it? Also I drank the liquid straight, was I supposed to mix it into something? Idk. I thought my pupils had gotten somewhat larger at some point, but I didn't get any trippy effects. No visuals, no spiritual feelings. Some other things to mention that maybe might've effected it, I was smoking weed all day and I also took some zofran 30 minutes before the psilocybin because I read the shrooms would make you nauseous. Me smoking weed all day is regular, though, so that just puts me in a sober state.

Are you on antidepressants or benzos?

I can't say for sure, but let's think about this for a second.

You took Zofran beforehand. What is Zofran? It's a serotonin 5-HT3 receptor antagonist. The way it prevents nausea is by antagonising the 5-HT3 serotonin receptors in your brain that control the nausea response. While ondansetron is fairly selective for 5-HT3 receptors, often these drugs will have some affinity for other receptor subtypes as well.

Now, how does psilocybin work? It becomes dephosphorylated in the body, forming psilocin, which is a partial agonist of a variety of serotonin receptors, primarily 5-HT2A. Why do shrooms make you nauseous? Because the psilocybin activates the 5-HT3 receptors, which control nausea. If you're blocking the effects of psilocybin on the 5-HT3 receptors, you might also be blocking its effects on other receptor subtypes as well. That is to say:

Psilocybin works by activating serotonin receptors. Zofran works by blocking serotonin receptors.

This seems like the most likely explanation to me. Taking a serotonin-inhibiting drug right before trying to use a drug that acts through serotonin probably wasn't the best choice.

Edit: also just noticed your other comment saying you're on benzos. While they don't act directly on the serotonin system, they're in general inhibitory, and will serve to inhibit signalling in your serotonin system. So that definitely doesn't help either.
