So the guy with the hacked cable modems......

He's full of shit, right?

He's just going to come back at some point with a story about how his house blew up or his arms fell off or something, right?

He'll say he just need about a week to get things up and running, and he'll say nobody should deal with him outside of escrow (but he knows people will), right?

Then he'll skip with a small hand full of quick cash, and plan to do the whole thing over again in a month or two, right?

I used to do this, it used to be pretty easy. I stopped when comcast upped their security and self-served config files wouldn't work anymore. It has more benefits than just free cable; to trace you to a physical location (more than just pointing to what neighborhood you were in) would be a monumental effort.

They are real, I'm surprised you don't see them more often on these markets. They don't work forever, though, normally they have to be tweaked every few months. Google haxorware, that's the popular firmware I remember from back in the day.

Edit 2: You are right. After reading the review again it looks like it was a shill and the guy is full of shit. Why the fuck would anyone think that lightening struck this guy's "lab." Out of anything that could have happened that is like the least likely scenario. Too bad, the service sounds like a great concept.

Actually someone reviewed him about a month ago. Apparently something happened and he had to get new equipment or something.

The guy did get his modem and he said it worked great. I'll try and find the review for you.

I was curious about this guy too. Except I'd want some proof that it would increase my speed, especially on my connection I have. Anyone could just buy a new modem, mark it up in price and say its hacked, and it would be faster than the old crappy one I have now.

I'm getting loads of popcorn because this is so fucking stupid I can't believe it. Why would anyone buy hacked modem from someone on DM? I'm just waiting for the next post on how someones bank account is empty, identity stolen and BTC wallet plundered. Please, go on...
