Hello, new here! So I've been doing the research on making my first DNM purchase but had a quick question I'm hoping you guys can answer for me.
I see people saying not to use a fake name as mail couriers don't deliver a letter that isn't addressed to the name on the mailbox. However, I live in an apartment and get mail addressed to previous residents on a regular basis. Knowing this I should be fine in using a fake name as another precaution, no?
Seems like a no-brainer to me but would hate to go out of my way to be cautious in every other area but screw up on something like this. Thanks in advance!
No, its still riskier to use a fake name or a previous tenants name. One, you never know if mail is actually being forwarded and some mail just slipped through. Or if the person decides to forward their mail to their new address.
Using a fake name buys you absolutely no additional protection and introduces more risk. The law is about possession - not whose name is on it.
