Private vender sites?

Do venders set up their own sites instead of using market places? It seems like every time I get on a market it goes down a few days later and bitcoins/orders are lost. I don't know much about being a vender, Is selling in a market is safer that having your own .onion page? I've lost 2 orders from markets going down, and unfortunately the venders stopped communicating at that point as well.

Only a very few do. As a customer, you don't get escrow protection with private vendor sites.

I just came to have a look if anyone's commented about the spelling of 'vendor' yet.

Ok, while I'm here - OP, in becoming a vendor, I've had a steep learning curve and this community has been very valuable to me in that process. I'm confident in what I do on the DNM's and I'm happy with my OPSEC. But I simply can't see the value in setting up an onion site for myself and going through yet another learning curve and a whole lot of new OPSEC and INFOSEC considerations. The Markets bring me customers and I serve them to the best of my ability. The big vendors with lots of resources (money) might be able to justify creating their own sites, but I'm not interested at the moment - I think 99% of vendors would have a similar opinion.

If buying on markets spooks you, then buy from a few vendors until you find one (or more) that you're confident enough to do direct deals with and proceed from there. Half of my turnover comes from customers who have done exactly that, and I'm sure the same could be said for many other vendors here.

Vendor. More long time vendors are doing this.
