Would a Chromebook work for my DNM laptop? If I removed the HDD and installed Tails and a USB stick, it would work? I've heard of some not allowing you to access the BIOS, but I'm unsure if that's true.
[OPSEC/Computer] Chromebook for Tails laptop?

I use a chromebook/ubuntu, and run a usb tails on it. Works just fine after a little tweaking. As for them secretly diverting your online purchase to install monitoring equipment, well that's just crazy talk from people doing way too many drugs. That program is not targeting everyone purchasing online. Not defending it in any way. Just hate tin-foil-hat bullshit.

You have to set it in developer mode or some shit. That requires you to open the computer and set it from what ive read

Some Chromebooks work and some don't. It depends on if they have SeaBIOS. You can find out if they do in this link right here.
After you have acquired yourself a Chromebook with SeaBIOS available you can follow this guide, which will 100% work and make your Chromebook able to boot into an already working USB with Tails on it.
For Tails to work though you WILL HAVE TO on every boot-up to press Tab on the Tails Boot Screen and then delete the two '2' that you will see in the code that pops up.
The guy with the TAO-FUD is of course correct but I would not be afraid of this in any way if you're a low-level buyer/never bought before. They would never go to such length for you.
Hope this helps you. Feel free to ask more.
If you buy the Laptop Online (which is the only way for Chromebooks ?) than no, it is not safe. TAO will install spy-hardware on it while in transit if they are on to you in any way. So please never order hardware online that will be involved in DNM activity.
