(Skip to the bold if you want just the facts with none of my ramblings in between)
The above formatting isn't even necessary for this review. May as well get this out of the way now, but I put a 8/10 for Stealth simply because it didn't have a decoy item or generate that "OMG I almost threw it away thinking it was junk, that stealth is so good!" wow factor that seems to be the hip new thing these days. That being said, 8/10 to me, is 100% acceptable. Visual and Smell barrier. Vac Sealed. Blah blah blah. No need to improve on this area, despite my 8/10. In fact, consider my 8/10 being defined as 'This area was 100% reasonable and acceptable.'
Every other area is just a 10/10. Shipping per usual goes out the same day, 2 day Priority, like clockwork. Pricing, $28 an 8th... $28 for an 8th of (IMHO) a top Tier strain, that's beyond reasonable. Take my praise for this strain as you will, but I'll say it now if it wasn't already blatantly obvious, Jack Herer is my all time favorite strain, bar none.
Jack Herer held that special unique place in my heart the moment I discovered/tried her, but while it has been my favorite strain for years now, actually getting the opportunity to acquire the strain itself happened few and far between.
In my younger years, I was a dealer for a period of years. Main reason for this was due to my local area (this is before I knew about DNM's, or if they even existed at that time period) having a lack of household brands, with only 1 choice at a high price when it does in fact pop up ($60 an 8th and $375 an ounce is the go-to pricing here, which I know is insane compared to most other places) , I wanted to offer both fair pricing as well as at least 5 - 6 strain choices per week to throw some variety in the mix. The best part of this, I got to select the strains I wanted to sell, and not just accept whatever may be available in that price range. Jack Herer was the one strain I would try and keep in stock every minute of the day. I would start stacking up on Jack when it's highly available to me so I'd have enough to maintain during the times it wasn't highly available to me. I'm rambling here, so let's just jump right into what you can expect in placing a similar order..
Overweight as always, I knew it was the moment I saw it and only put it on the scale to confirm what I already knew. The smell.. The most familiar smell on earth to me. Nothing in the world (IMO) can be confused with that particularity Oder that is Jack Herer, and just to give you an idea how serious I am, the last time I was able to acquire Jack Herer was the last order I placed when I was dealing. (Easily 5+ years ago). In that time, I haven't had it in my life in any way, shape, or form. Yet the moment I cracked the vac seal on this order and got my first wiff, it brought back memories :) That sounds silly doesn't it? I'm talking about a fucking Pot Strain like it's the second coming of Christ. Honestly, I've never had any other strain have that type of effect for me. As far as a unique smell/taste/high/appearance. Every other strain I can recall has room for error when trying to guess what strain it is by one of those 4 choices. It may be a small margin of error, 0.00001% maybe, but it exists to me. 100% success rate identifying this strain due to it's unique qualities. I am sure I am in the minority here, just my 2 cents.
The Bud's look absolutely amazing, this was without a doubt handled with TLC during the grow. High is amazing. Is it the most potent strain out there? Absolutely not, not even close. Jack Herer isn't about any one particular attribute in the high that clearly overpowers any others that may be lingering, and while it's pretty much impossible to accurately describe a high to someone unfamiliar with a strain via text in a manner that they can funny understand what they really mean, the next best thing I could do is compare it to other strains, 3 other strains in this particular case. The 3 strains that make up Jack Herer. Which is:
50% Haze 37.5% Northern Lights 12.5% Shiva Skunk.
What makes me happy inside is remembering after all these years what those 3 strains still are, as well as the % of each! I can't remember what I ate for dinner yesterday (to give you an idea of how great my memory is). It's absolutely a Sativa Hybrid because it primarily generates a very nice Clear Headed, Uplifting, and Creative high and certainly no Couch Lock feeling of a Indica Dominant. But overall just has key effects and such that are very unique to this strain itself. It's almost doing a disservice to the strain by comparing the high to a straight forward Sativa Hybrid definition. It's much more then simply that.
I am going to highlight the key areas in Bold, because even though I haven't re-read this before posting, I already know I rambled on about a simple marijuana strain. So if your just looking for the facts, the bold will help navigate that ramble easier. If you really love marijuana (and I don't even mean that in a 'smoke all day every day' typecast pothead kind of way. ), but just appreciate different strains and the different properties they generate. (even if you only smoke on occasion) If you had a choice to select your 'morning, afternoon, and evening' strains to your preference, would you have specific ones in mind for those specific needs you want from a strain? If so, then maybe this post overall will generate a little interest for you. If your morning, afternoon, and evening strains are all one size fits all, or you prefer the 'weed is weed' mindset, then most of the ramblings here probably aren't too interesting. Having not had my favorite strain in 5+ years, I just started rambling away. Especially not smoking anywhere near the amount I used to (sometimes just a few hits a week) I am really happy I get to choose a strain such as this. If I am only going to take a hit of some marijuana in as little as a few times a week, I want those hits to count, and they certainly do with Jack Herer.
Regardless if you like Sativa more, Indica more, Hybrid more. As long as you like high quality marijuana, you will be satisfied with your purchase of this strain. It may not be your favorite or even unique to you, but there's no way you simply will not enjoy it, and for $28 an 8th, no matter where you live I think all can agree there's simply no way you can say you didn't get what you paid for!
Those of you with access to legal surplus, or medical dispensaries. You guys are leagues ahead of what's available to me. I am sure you encounter just dozens of name brand strains as an everyday thing, and if I had that, I may have a different opinion based on having access to just so many more options. I certainly don't have that experience, but the 3 or so years I was dealing, I generally had access to 20+ different strains each month. Armed with the internet and cannibible I was able to dabble in a wide variety of strains. But no level of dealing could compare to walking into a store and seeing these on the shelves each day I would assume.
Your still reading this? Why? Go home. Or order some Jack Herer :)
You could be smoking Jack Herer instead of reading this...
EDIT: As far as the picture goes, I gotta be honest, there is literately no difference between what I have, and this, which is just one of the first pictures that comes up when you Google Jack Herer.
I've got my little Radio Shack microscope, so I can absolutely vouch for that picture looking like it was a bud in my own personal batch. Only difference is that quality picture. If I could relay into a picture what I am seeing on my Microscope, it would be that. :)
Damn son
