Hi. I began using the below extension to communicate with a family member that also visits Tor-land. I recently used it to contact a vendor buddy on safe-mail - where we always chatted safe-mail to safe-mail. These two people are smart enough to handle obfuscation regardless of which email client I use.
I simply want to know what are the fatal flaws in using this with gmail for all my market needs? Please tell me just the dangers with the product, i.e. I know all about how the other party can put me at risk if they don't bring OPSEC to the game. I just want to know the technical risks - I'll worry about the human factor in time.
It would be amazing to get a tech heavy answer but I would be THRILLED with just a couple of bullet points from experts that don't have time to get too deep. TIA
Why do you need to be a computer guru to figure this out? Seems pretty simple.
That is proprietary software? Big opsec fail, since its security software, don't use it.
Your gmail is linked to you? If its only accessed through tor, and you somehow got it activated without any link to your IP or identity then yes its safe enough, but I would still recommend sigaint.
tl;dr: use open source software to encrypt like gpg4usb, use an email provider that asks less questions than gmail, like lelantos
