Has anyone ever considered a private sub? Or maybe somehow getting one "quarantined"?

This is just a random thought, I stumbled across an old r/askreddit thread and in it someone linked to a huge list of "quarantined" subreddits. It made them inaccessible by accident, and I believe you couldn't search for them either.

I know r/thebarbarians did this(meaning go private); however its not nearly as active as this sub, but it could be a big step in weeding out/keeping out nefarious interests if this sub were to do it. Although I don't know if such a large number of subscribers has an effect or not, or if there's some larger moral objective to be "the" available resource for people to use. Perhaps even creating another subreddit with this specific intention could be a viable idea. Who knows, I'm pretty stoned and bored so I was kicking it around in my head. Thoughts?

Like /u/mdmangel said there are already several private dnm subs not just /r/thebarbarians but none of them are anywhere near as active as this sub. I'd prefer this sub to stay public, I think there are enough rules to keep it under control and the mods do a good job modding imo. If LE wants to infiltrate a reddit sub it won't matter how hidden it is, this is reddit...

We should just focus on practicing good opsec and pointing noobs to the noob sub and the searchbar and sidebar. I also think that the more people who use the dnm the harder it is for LE to bust people, it would stretch their resources thin to go after all the people using the dnm. As far as I know LE is more concerned with terrorists and the cartel than the average dnm user.

Feel free to come discuss whatever you want.

What would be the screening process? I'm baked too so let's do this!
