Warrant for USPS false security

I hear a lot of ppl saying usps is safer than other carriers b/c they have to have a warrant to open your package. But from my understanding, getting a warrant isn't a very onerous task. As long as they have a dog sniff or any other probable cause, I'm sure they can get a warrant in about 30 minutes.

In light of that, do you guys still think USPS is that much safer? Are there other reasons why UPS/fedex/DHL are less safe?

As private corporations the 4th wouldn't apply to UPS/FedEx/DHL so there's no point in even bothering compared to the USPS who are bound by the same rules as any other government entity.

Man, I've been getting packages in the mail for over 2 years now via USPS. Not a single issue, EVER.

yea i mean I'm not saying USPS is unsafe either, just that it's not more safe than other carriers (i.e. theyre all more or less equally safe). I've never reviewed all the arrest report threads, but is there a disproportionate number of ppl getting arrested after getting shipped UPS/fedex/etc?

Right...but do the UPS/fedex/DHL actually open packages and tip off the authorities? I'm not sure that happens. Just like I'm not sure that the warrant requirement does much/anything to prevent USPS from busting you.

Anyone who has ever even read a wikipedia article on the 4th amendment knows how much its been torn down by the courts and emasculated. It really doesn't pose much obstacle.

Pretty much the only way people get busted is the cops are either watching you or watching someone else. Packages from CO or CA probably get profiled a lot more though, and they don't need a warrant to get a dog to sniff your package.

Used to work for UPS loading trucks, I loaded plenty that smelled like weed, never did anything about it, don't know if anyone else did but I didn't hear of it. Also never drug dogs in the sort facility.

I've been saying this for forever. The idea that USPS is safer is just a bit of mythmaking from our community. UPS and Fedex want to get package to person. The post office is govt workers who give zero fucks. And they have a full-time LEO assisting them (postal inspectors), whereas to my knowledge UPS and Fedex do not.

Think about it- if USPS finds your drugs they call the PI and very bad things can happen. If Fedex finds your drugs the chain of custody is broken, it's that much more difficult to call cops, file reports, get warrants etc. "Aint nobody got time for that".
