Is this too sketch?

I have a vendor whos package always follows the same trail. It leaves x state the same day and lands at y1 post office then goes to y2 post office. The Y's are both in proximity to me. If the package doesnt get to y2 because it is still at Y1 can i call them and ask to pick it up?

edit: tracking shows it landed at Y2 at 8:50pm today. hopefully its early enough for them to put y2 to y1 if not ill give a phone call claiming i have a flight at 1 (time when mail usually comes) and im expecting an important package. I won't argue about it and just accept their answer

No. It is in transit. It is not sitting around waiting to be picked up.

It's Sunday evening/night. Who do you expect to be able to get ahold of at the post office?

Yes, there is a service that allows either the shipper or receiver to change the delivery instructions on tracked packages. I don't know the specifics of it, but I'm sure if you poke around on the USPS website you'll be able to find out more info. However, as I first questioned, how do you expect to be able to contact someone at the post office on a Sunday night? I'm assuming it's at y1 according to the last tracking update? If so, by the time tomorrow morning rolls around and you're able to contact someone at post office y1, I would think it'll already be at, or en route to, post office y2.
