Hosting sites besides typeface?

I was looking at typeface but would rather consider elsewhere since the recent thread found on here a couple days ago. Whether it's true or not I don't know but it makes me want to reconsider the options. Unfortunately there's no info on the super list either.

Hey, I just wanted to say, I am the guy that started that thread.

In all fairness to Typeface he offers a good service. I don't know what happened to the sites, as he never posted back to the thread. Even though the vendor shops are still showing offline on DDW I dont know if its an issue with a DDOS, or weather its an issue with DDW or whatever.

I wouldnt write him off straight away, He makes good sites and has hosted sites for a long time. Maybe ask him whats up and see if you can access any of the sites he hosts yourself

I havn't heard any vendors complaining, and I would expect to if there was a huge issue. So don't write him off based on my thread. Do your own research and figure things out.

Get your own Server / VPS for hosting

Assuming you're setting up a tor hidden service (which is why you're writing here) it shouldnt really matter providing your site is set up securely. saying that, any Russian or off-shore host should be fine.

Russian dedicated server is the way to go IMO.

Just ensure you only allow localhost connections (i.e. Tor only). Ideally fire up a cheap VPS nearby, load a tor obfs4 bridge on it and connect your dedicated server to the bridge.

That should make an extremely secure setup. Pay with a prepaid credit card and don't reuse any usernames from the past (or use any real personal details).

Also ensure your own net connection to the server is never direct (i.e. Use a VPN on a router with killswitch or similar).

There are so many good guides out there these days, just don't take shortcuts and skip security just because things seem to be working fine already.

Word of advice, if you're looking to host a market but can't even figure out how to host a server, please stop now for your and everyone elses safety. I'm assuming you're not hosting a market or anything though.
