The product itself seems good. The exterior stealth / decoy was very good, almost to the point where I thought it was junk mail. My problem was with the interior packaging of the speed paste.
The paste was packed in a ziplock bag. Then that bag was placed in a heat sealed plastic bag. That was then placed in layers of tissue paper inside the actual envelope. When I received it, much of the paste liquid had left the inner ziplock and was only held by the heat sealed packaging. Had that broken or leaked even a tiny bit, the smell would have been very obvious. I wish, like other vendors, the inner pack was heat sealed also, or the exterior heat sealed pack was placed in another heat sealed package for redundancy.
The wet product was just about exact for weight (5.4g), but that included the packaging (zip lock bag), so I don't think it had the right amount of product in it. The product was VERY VERY WET. The order was for 5g of product. The product dried very white, but not quite snow white. I chose to wash it also which led to a whiter color (which meant some impurities were removed in the wash). After the wash and dry I was left with 1.2g of product. That's not a lot of yield. Final weight was 6.2g (5g for the container, 1.2g product). That's a LOT of loss if the weight of the actual product at start was 5g. The wash was done with acetone that had been dried, so there was no loss due to water. I'm a bit upset about how wet this product was, which meant I spent money on useless byproduct.
The actual quality of the final product is on par with others, but I wouldn't say it stands way above them. It's better than snapback (less impurities removed during the wash than with snapback), but it's what you'd expect from an average product.
I was a bit thrown off by the shipping. The ad showed 4 day shipping without signature, or 4 day with signature; both with tracking. Of course I opted for 4 day without signature, but with tracking. I received the tracking info, but the package took about 8 business days to arrive. I had contacted Sthompson while waiting for the package and was told that it takes 4-14 days to arrive at my destination. Well, I wish the ad had been more specific, if anything just to set my expectations. His response was timely though, and all comms were responded to within 24 hrs. I had asked for them to do something on the exterior to help me pick out the package from the other mail quickly, but did not do that, however that's not a big deal I could see from the vendor viewpoint why they wouldn't want to.
Would I buy from him again? I'm not sure. Snapback's stuff was less wet when it arrived, however my scale then wasn't as good so I don't know what the loss was like. This stuff was very wet, and the only reason I'm not upset is because his price was the same as snapback at the time. Typically I see Sthompson selling at a much higher price than Snapback, and given how wet this product is, I would NOT say it's worth it. There seems to be less byproduct removed during the wash of this product, which I like, but I didn't feel like it was a great value.
I wouldn't order from this vendor just due to his name. HST is legendary. Regardless of how good this vendors stuff is he should not risk the HST name.
