Wells Fargo checking ID starting Feb 1, 2016

On my trip to Wells Fargo today to deposit cash, there were multiple signs on the registers stating that Wells Fargo will begin asking for debit cards or a type of identification when depositing cash. Has anybody else seen these signs?

-Also, for those of you who have had to show identification when purchasing bitcoins, what precautions did you take afterwords, before transfering to your marketplace wallet?

You guys really don't have to worry a whole lot about presenting ID unless you are buying ridiculously large quantities. I work for a Big Four bank and we only check to prevent money laundering. Any cash transaction over $10,000 requires a CTR (Currency Transaction Report) where we would obtain your SSN, employer, and other identifying information. This is for money laundering as well as tax reporting purposes. But we file these regularly, especially for cash businesses, and unless you are doing it all the time nobody is going to raise an eyebrow. Seriously, nobody gives a fuck that you are depositing $500 cash to someone else's account.

Really? I was in there a few days ago but I didn't see such signs. I tried looking it up online but can't find anything about them checking IDs..

If this is true I can't do bank deposits anymore! Does anyone know which banks still don't ID you when making deposits?

It is not tinfoil. Find a btc ATM that does not require any personal info use a phone for btc qr not connected to you in anyway and you're perfect

Consider doing cash in the mail? Better rates most of three time if you can safely pack the money and wait an extra day.
