[CommunityDiscussion] Macroscopic market observations

  1. The US has a new DEA chief.
  2. Governmental pressure to regulate bitcoin will increase in 2015.
  3. The markets are relatively mainstream at this point in time.

These three variables did not previously exist and are worth bringing to the attention of any prospective or current vendors. I suspect, with minimal evidence, it will become more difficult to launder drug funds on the darknet in 2015, thereby making it less attractive to large-scale dealers servicing the community. Gwern compiled existing data on market lifespan, but I would not assume them to have a high predictive value. Drug trade changes = changes in LE prosecution of the drug trade.

TL;DR - Stay safe or stay in jail.

Yup this is why we need to decentralize the markets and use a more anonymous currency than bit coin. There's to much money to be made someone will figure it out. LE will still mainly attack the centralized markets because it's the only thing they can do. The markets are in need of a rebirth. Also laundering money isn't to hard especially if you do it somewhere besides the US. There's plenty of countries that don't give a fuck where the money came from

What if we decentralized the servers using several small servers, like nano servers say 64gb portable arduino units that could be configured to connect solely through tor, and easily concealed say in the ceiling of a place with free wifi. get enough of these, configure swarm script, similar to how a botnet operates. You could essentially seed enough of these in enough places that no matter how many are discovered it could never be shut down, as all the others would still be broadcasting the page. there was once a vendor who had a similar device (arduino server) listed on the markets (he even had a listing to install it in an anon place) but since vanished, after reading about the late affairs of DOXBIN retaking control of their seized site this idea was formed...im no techie, but this seems more logical then a large central server in iceland. (or wherever) The ideal thing would be to offer a device capable of this, sell it without the dark firmware on the clearnet, even amazon, then be able to download a file to it then simply turn it on, connect to internet, "set it and forget it" Discuss...
