Hi Everyone,
Couple of questions. An order was made just over a week ago, one that was FEd (vendor had tons of good reviews and it wasn't enough money to really care about). Packet was noted as shipped immediately on overnight delivery (letter) and has not arrived (1.5 weeks ago).
Another purchase was made the next day with escrow with a different vendor. Small again.
Question is, what is the etiquette on finalizing if the packet wasn't received (there's a couple days left before it finalizes automatically/packet was marked delivered immediately and shipping costs were charged)?
Obviously, finalizing on a packet that hasn't been received would not be beneficial, but if the packet was indeed sent and is just held up in the mail a vendor shouldn't be short changed.
When should the vendor be contacted? Wait until the day of finalization? What do?
If you haven't received I would try and contact the vendor first. If no response in a few days (before autofinalize) open up a dispute.
They may have a good reason why you haven't gotten anything, and they may be full of it and you might save yourself some coins opening up a dispute.
The only real etiquette here is finalize when you receive your product and don't open a dispute without contacting the vendor first (or leave negative feedback) - unless they have a ton of recent negative feedback and they've obviously started scamming.
