[UK] IP Bill Incoming

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Investigatory_Powers_Bill

Seems to be a pretty big thing for the UK, allowing the government to have larger investigatory powers without warrants and such. Seems to have hardly been talked about in my opinion.

This bad for us?

Shit NSA has been doing for years, and GCHQ probably has been doing too - just now it'll be 'legal'

[2 Points] None:

For those following good opsec, it won't change a damn thing. This is a formalisation of what largely already happens.

Everyone else should be pissed off at the privacy ramifications, but the media and useful idiots will shout them down with "why do you want to protect terrorists and paedos" and "if you have nothing to hide you have nothing to worry about".

Fuck. This. Country.

[1 Points] GuadoRCs:

I'd say it's only bad for those with bad OPSEC. It is only going to rattle some cages and get more people working on better OPSEC methods etc, which is a good thing.

[1 Points] ire206:

Recently the UK seems to be heading in a really backwards direction. The provisions for this bill seem absolutely sick, a straight invasion of everyone's privacy.
