Large initials on express box?

Anyone ever get an express pack with large pencil initials on it? Wondering if it's part of the sorting process or does it mean it was inspected?

Why were you ordering express in the first place? That's literally the most scrutinized postal service ever conceived of. If it's not absolutely flat (as in, it contains nothing but a few pieces of paper), they're gonna want to have a look inside.

My mailman often writes the street address in large numbers on the package. It's so he doesn't have to try to read the tiny print on the label when delivering.

Another thing they tend to do is cross out the bar code when they scan it for delivery.
