Please let us know if the edibles contain allergens!
Here's a list:
- Peanut
- Tree nuts
- Milk
- Egg
- Wheat
- Soy
- Fish
- Shellfish
Obviously things like fish and shellfish likely won't be in your cannabis edibles, but I thought it was important to include all of 'em, just in case.
I feel this is important, because I'd hate to be the buyer with the milk allergy or lactose intolerance who buys an edible containing milk chocolate.
Thanks!
EDIT Many of you make the obvious (and correct) point that people should take responsibility for their own dietary restrictions. I agree, and I can see how my post might have misled you, so let me clear this up: I am not complaining that vendors don't do this. I'm simply saying that it would be nice if they did.
I don't know how often vendors get asked about allergen information, but I'm willing to bet that any vendor that posts their edibles without listing the ingredients will get an email now and then. It seems to me that it would be easier to just post "CONTAINS MILK," or list the ingredients, rather than having to answer emails.
And, bottom line, it shows that you care about your customers. It only takes a couple seconds to look up a list of common food allergies to see if you used any, and a couple seconds more to include that information in a listing before you post it.
So yeah, if you have a food allergen, take care of it like you've always done. Obviously.
But if you're an edible vendor, consider this a request from a hopeful customer.
How about if you've got a food allergy you message the vendor asking if the edible is safe for you? You know, taking responsibility for your own health like people used to instead of expecting other people to do it. Restaurants don't list every single thing people could be allergic to on the menu and you don't see people expecting them to.
