Someone Fell For A Police Department's Fake Ebola-Tainted Meth Warning

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/tainted-meth-alert-arrest-texas_us_56f8cf4ee4b0a372181a44a0?utm_hp_ref=crime

"A Texas woman was arrested after she fell for a police department's fake news alert which warned that meth and heroin in the area could be tainted with Ebola."

In light of the recent LE warnings about Fent laced Xanax bars, falsely issuing a public warning should be a crime resulting in incarceration. You can't go into a movie theatre and scream FIRE because it results in creating a public panic. So why is it okay to issue false information that results in the public discounting any information LE put out, when it can result in people dying due to not being able to trust any authorities when a warning is issued?

That's fucked up on both sides of the fence

Why the fuck are cops posting fucking jokes on FACEBOOK anyway? Social media should be reserved for Alerts and prominent information ONLY, not as a fucking playtoy for the jerkoffs standing around at the after-hours circle jerk next to the donut counter.

She had probably been up for a few days then while nonchalantinly browsing facebook she happened upon that post about ebola infected meth/heroin and was like whoa, thats retarded, they really think people would buy that? and then another few days go by no food, no sleep, shes starting to get a little touch of psychosis not to bad though yet she goes to her dealer to buy a ball hes like yo, this is that BOMB EBOLA shit, be careful with this, this shit will have you bleadin out your orifices its so fuckin bomb. and then all the sudden as shes driving home something clicks, wait a second, did he just say ebola? Nah, he couldnt have....did he? wait, he did oh shit, I need to do soemthing and quick, check if my eyes are bleeding, a little, oh man I think theres ebola coming out of my hand, oh no this is bad this is bad, I need to do something QUICK anf then it hits her, her local freidnly police department, I mean they are there to protect and serve! what better way to protect and serve then to help with tainted ebola drugs so she goes with her gut. To bad the joke was on her.

it has been firmly enshrined in the anals of law that police officers are allowed to lie as much as they want.

[5 Points] foodforthoughts1010:

I read about this before it was posted here and I thought this was actually really fucked up. I never really agreed with things that police do like bait cars and bait bikes, but this is on a whole new level. Insiting panic is the public and putting out false information like this is ethically wrong. If you want to tempt people into stealing shit that's whatever, but telling people that something can give you a deadly disease and spreading misinformation is dumb. We want to make people aware of the things they put in there bodies. Not make the scared of it.

[3 Points] Vendor_BBMC:

You make a good point. There are often killer batches of heroin that haven't been cut enough. They sell out immediately.

Meth customers, and female ones in particular for some reason, can sometimes believe anything, no matter how unlikely.

Your skin isn't falling off because of ebola, love. You got a bit of over-acidified gassed meth on your skin, then got a little chemical burn. Stop scratching it with scissors.

[3 Points] bobbiggs69:

Even worse then a public panic, it creates a public health hazard. When you can't trust your public officials to not lie about health issues, who can you trust? If they would have done this kind of thing in the 90's we'd still have people transmitting AIDS through needles because nobody would have believed the warnings. This is fucking criminal.

what the fuck is wrong with goobermint these days

[2 Points] noonehear:

Sounds like entrapment and she will get off.

On a side note I always joke about ebola. People ask what the foam is as the waves wash up at the beach... I reply "ebola foam". They walk away. I wonder if they believe me.

Because when you have all the guns you can do whatever you want.

[2 Points] CDRCRDS:

Because the aspect of rational thinking on an individual level does not extend to a system. In this case law enforcement, which extends to a governments monopoly on violence. So the police in this case have political obligations to catch would be criminals, however its job is not to study or understand why people in this case use drugs. It's to meet the ends of the ruling class.

Which in itself is a seemingly benign experience. The user is a visible symptom of a societies very own short comings. But once a system is established it has its own self serving interest; despite the likelihood that most people will find most drug users they find are poor and bored and the ones they do not find tend to have enough liquidity to avoid the social stigmas used not to prevent indiscriminate drug consumption but rather to further marginalize the seemingly undesireable. Which interestingly enough isn't so much about the drug itself but a persons ethnic origin or income class.

Goddamn....Best story of the day....You win!!!!!! LMAo!!!!!!

Yeah I agree that is some reprehensible bullshit. In an age where the trust between LEO and civillians is eroding rapidly and tainted opiates are getting passed around like hotcakes this is absolutely disgraceful. Then again this is Texas, so I wouldn't expect any decency or common sense.

[1 Points] fullofit22:

I think they posted this as a joke... then someone actually did it.

[1 Points] Tired8281:

Burden of proof. You can't prove, for certain, that the meth wasn't tainted with ebola, whereas they just have to claim to believe the warning on balance of probability, to distribute it. Is it shitty? Absolutely. Is it illegal? Probably not. :(

Cruel.

[1 Points] Helicopterrepairman:

They deleted their posts. Covering their ass no doubt. As a former HEAVY method user this woman needs help, not jail.

Edit: they seem to be removing any comments not praising their bullshit.
