Do you guys use VPN as an extra security layer? By VPN I mean paid services, not a proxy on somebody's grandma's compromised Dell.
I've been trying to figure out what the actual benefit of a VPN would be in this business. "Cheating" your provider's filters by "masking" Tor traffic? But do you trust a VPN operator more than a slow as molasses telco/cable company in terms of actively cooperating with TPTB?
Another question, if you're connecting from a public/broken AP, does a VPN even make sense?
If you are using Tor correctly there is no point to a VPN. Your ISP won't give a shit about Tor traffic, it isn't illegal.
