Sending BTC to Alphabay Deposit Address twice before it confirms transaction / updates balance

Hey All,

I have wondered about this many times before when i am funding my alphabay wallet but always been too nervous to try.. well tonight i did it and just wanted some reassurance that i wont get screwed...

The reason i ask too is because one of my BTC funding attempts is taking forever to post on the blockchain and i suspect that my BTC purchasing method's "hot wallet" for withdrawls and such may be empty and i may not be getting my transaction anytime soon..

Anyways the question is related to how alphabay changes your wallet address for every deposit... It says that if you send BTC to an old wallet within 7 days of using it you will still get BTC that is sent to that wallet..

So i needed to fund my AB account via two sources tonight and i tried it.. I just wanted to hear from other people that it definitely works and i will get both BTC transactions that were sent to my AB BTC address... the address has updated in AB and the one transaction has yet to post...

Also im wondering about when they consider your 7 days to start?? From the time you first got that address or the time you send to it for the first time and then it changes?? I believe i have had this address since last wednesday after my last funding attempt... If by some shit luck my one transaction to that address doesnt come through by wednesday am i fucked?? Or will it now keep that address for 7 days from now??

On a side note, id really prefer if the AB wallet system was like the other big markets (agora etc) where you keep your address as long as you like and then can change it when you want... It would at least worry me less.. and i always see posts where ppl say they screwed up by sending to an old address (IMO thats kinda foolish on those peoples parts for not checking AB for your deposit address... i always checked it on agora before transferring just to be sure... in fact i always double, triple and even quadrupal check everything i do on the DNM... btc addresses. PGP addy for shipping, BTC prices for purchase ETC ETC)

Is there a good reason why AB does there deposit addy system this way i am missing??

Anyways thanks for any help and reassurance that my deposit to my address that has now changed should be fine!

have a good one everyone!!

It's usually for a layer of anonymity really, so the same BTC transfers can't be all linked to one deposit address for one user. The reason your coins can still be claimed is because they don't remove the wallets and rather just assign a new one to your account.

Not sure if they still recycle addresses, or keep them on hold for this 7 day period before recycling them into another account, but that's the reason you are able to still claim it and it will likely be 7 days from the first deposit (when the address changes) as the original address will be moved to an archive as such in the database with a log of the user who's it was before moved from their user account.
