Regarding recent vendor's problems

Lately there's been more vendors posting about customers scamming them. Double dipping and whatnot. Especially with the common mentality of "never FE!" it causes a lot of problems to vendors. I used to vend a while ago, I've been around the DNM's since silk road, and was vending on SR2 and was shut down quite quick due to a couple customers in a row doing this. I think the markets need something to help protect vendors since right now it's basically only geared towards customers. We can see how well this works on clear net things like paypal, ebay, amazon, where most scammers are customers trying to get a refund or reship.

When you're a customer, you shouldn't be spending more than you can lose so if you're scammed, it's bad but usually not too bad. Some vendors vend as a last resort and put all they have into it because they are out of options. So when people scam vendors, it's hurt the vendor so much more. And it hurts the entire community because it will drive more people away from being vendors. Fewer vendors = fewer options, drugs, and markets. The risk of being a vendor is much higher than being a customer. How many vendors do you deal with and how many customers does a vendor deal with? More interactions means more people will try to scam them. And the danger is not just from scammers, they are facing more heat from LE and greater jail sentences.

Basically what I'm saying is, we need to treat our vendors better. They're the core of the community. The current escrow situation is not acceptable as it is too easy for customers to win disputes and it encourages market exit scams. We need to all learn multisig or find a better option. There are great guides for multisig and it's so easy. If you can use electrum, you can use multisig.

We also need vendors who treat us better. Due to sites like Alphabay and Nucleus, it's too easy for vendors to scam buyers as well.

Dude, this. Was thinking about vending some bars but I don't have enough startup to handle any scams.

Because it's Tuesday, here my theory on who scammers could be:

  1. Competitors of the vendor
  2. LE
  3. High School kids
  4. Former DN service providers (Evo, MEM, BTCFog Admins)
  5. The Chinese
  6. The Russians
  7. Yo mama

Double dipping scams become almost non-existent by using TRACKING.

Yeah man. I don't even know how many vendors fell off the map when Abraxas and MEM left.
