Which of the commonly available prescription (or not) stimulants would work best for evaluating a bunch of papers.
We have to "team grade" our teammates' submissions, but we are graded in turn on our ability to do so effectively. So what will keep me awake alert, not too jittery, and able to intellectually focus on all these damn papers? Ritalin? Adderall? Modinafil? Something I don't know about? Assistance, please. And yes, I'm a virgin noob on the board, so flame away.
If you're a noob then the best advice I can offer would be to stay away from stims. The cycle of dependency is second only to opiates. Even things like 2-fma and modafinil can be addictive in the sense that you quickly NEED them to do things that you used to be able to do sober. Stims often have a wicked rebound effect where it becomes even harder to focus and stay awake and be productive for a while after quitting, which is part of what leads to the cycle of abuse. Every addict out there said "I'll just use it for studying" or "I'll just use it when I'm making music" etc in the beginning. Stick to weed and psychedelics for a long and healthy life.
