Sure you could, but the vendor should decline you. Nothing against trying though, so go right ahead!

There are a few sellers on localbitcoins who will allow paypal transactions. (I only do for traders I have a history with.)

The issue is that since PayPal transactions can be reversed, but bitcoin transactions can't, the seller carries the risk of the buyer attempting a scam. So we generally charge a premium, on top of using identity verification and whatever methods we feel secures our money in those cases. I don't recommend it whatsoever.

The easiest, fastest way to buy bitcoins is to do person to person cash trades, or if you're too worried about meeting someone, bank cash deposits. Often you can have the bitcoins released in an hour or so, end of business in most cases. It's really quite easy and most experienced sellers are happy to help you figure it out. And for what it's worth, we don't ask or care why people want to buy them. We don't want to know, really.

It isn't necessary at all to be anonymous when buying bitcoin - it's perfectly legal and people do it every day for reasons other than using DNMs. But I realize some people want that extra precaution.

Markets really only accept bitcoin for purchases. You won't find one that accepts PayPal or any other payment method.
