Tracking says unclaimed.

So I placed an order in early April. Small amount of shrooms and lsd. Domestic US. Had it sent to my box but it never arrived. After eleven days I contacted the vendor who checked and provided me with tracking. It arrived at the post office after two days and went out for delivery but was never put in my box and never scanned as delivered. Vendor gave me half the money back.

I am certain it was not seized because I had several other packages arrive after this happened, including one very sloppy envelope that could have easily been profiled. Now I think the reason this happened is because the +4 after the zip code was incorrect. So I figured it was sorted incorrectly and eventually they would see it and put it in my box. All the other info on there is correct.

So fast forward to today. A month later I decide to check the tracking again. Apparently a few days ago it was marked as unclaimed. Why would I need to claim it? Why didn't they just put it in my box? I am confused. Anyone ever see this before? Should I go on the usps site and have them attempt a re-deliver? Should I call that 1800 USPS number? What is the safest way to go about this?

Opinions and advice are appreciated.

It may have been addressed wrong past the zip code issues

Or address destroyed some how. No idea who it belongs to.

id consider it dead in the water and count it as a loss... no reason to call USPS or stick ur head out from the crowd... its crappy but oh well, better safe than sorry imo

Sounds like a lazy USPS worker to me. If all else in the address was correct except for the last 4 on the zip then it probably went to a different mailman at your same post office. It went out for delivery on his route and he set it aside and brought it back to the post office and put it on a shelf or bin where it sat for a few weeks before someone (lazy) saw it and instead of delivering just marked it unclaimed. I would do a redelivery if it's an option. Don't call just space-cadets maning the phones over there. Whatever you do you need to do it fast otherwise they'll return to sender if they haven't already. In the future don't wait weeks to follow up on a package stay more on top of it. If I had to guess I'd say you're pretty safe. Controlled deliveries are made to look like business as normal as much as possible. Typically they don't wait a month with these types of issues and then bust you. You would have already been busted if they wanted you. Let us know how it goes.
