basically I was super shocked recently to discover that this vendor has apparently went rogue and pulled an exit scam. Now I am not naïve and it is perfectly plausible he or she was building a good reputation with a view to exit scamming at some later stage.
However I am still getting my head around the fact that someone who, for me anyway, always appeared so friendly, helpful and genuine in communications and even went the extra mile for me on a few occasions (for example giving me a few extra beans cuz I paid double postage) wud suddenly pull such a scam. Obviously I didn't know he/she personally but my instincts and interactions told me they were trustworthy and reliable. So I am so shocked by this. On reflection, I did sort of smell a rat when he/she seemed to be selling a few copycat presses and when asked about one, they claimed was from original batch which when arrived I could tell was not the case.
So I can't help but wonder if they were sourcing goods from dodgy folk making copycats and thus maybe, just maybe they got into negotiations with the wrong sort of folk and literally had a gun against their head when it came to pulling an exit scam. That is the risk I guess vendors sometimes take when building a business by themselves on the DNM'S.
Now, I ain't defending this son of a bitch in any way if he deserves it, which he may well, but does anyone else not agree with me that this apparent scam seemed out of the blue and very unexpected.... which makes me think there might be other factors which explain this as already mentioned, for example a malicious supplier demanding such a scam and/or money. Maybe even the vendor had debts to clear and again had the gun literally against their head.
I do of course really feel for those who lost their dosh but my point is we will never really know what happened to cause such an abrupt scam.
Maybe it was the vendors original plan or just maybe he/she were forced ultimately into this position. I guess we will never know.
thank goodness there are enough, experienced and trustworthy vendors left to trade with. Was just sharing my thoughts on the matter and hope I ain't offended anyone who lost out due to Casablanca. PLUR.
