Ordering to a PO Box

All the drama surrounding the dark net markets right now notwithstanding...

Can anyone comment as to whether it is a good or bad idea to order small amounts substances to a PO Box? I am mostly worried about safety - specifically about being put in cuffs when going to the post office to pick up a tiny aliquot of a plant that people have been using recreationally for thousands of years. Safer than ordering to home address? More dangerous? Are there any ways to make it safer?

Don't order to a P.O. box. You relinquish plausible deniability because you (usually) have to sign your name somewhere or supply some kind of ID to hold the right to that box to begin with.

At least with your own mailbox, no one can prove (as easily) that you intended to receive that mail. Anyone can flip through any phone book and send anyone mail at any time. A P.O. box is a bit more condemning.

It depends, PO like dunavo said is more condeming cause no one would know your box number so you obviously ordered it, but if you ever get a "come to the counter to sign" type of card even though the package would obviously not be big enough to get that sort of thing then you know 100% something is up and can ignore it,, otherwise they cant do a controlled delivery like they would at your house but you may get a visit at your house if you do it enough.

On the other hand anyone can send to your house so you have plausible deniability but only so many times and can cause your address to be watched.

If you have ever had a PO box you know you get dozens of mailings for every other previous owner. After a year or so, its pretty simple to just use that persons info with no risk of a return or forward. Houses and apartments, the same thing.
