Doing a podcast episode (for crypto beginners) on the Silk Road. Which subtopics should I be sure to cover?

Some of you may remember that I posted a few days ago. I am familiar with the Silk Road but I think everyone's experience with it was different so I want to try not to miss any of the good parts. A disclaimer though: I will not be talking about Ross Ulbricht or his investigation at all... I am waiting for the dust to settle with that trial before I focus on the alleged owner / operator of the site.

Here is a list of subtopics off the top of my head:

What are some of the more entertaining / interesting subtopics relating to the original Silk Road that I should make sure to cover?

Never had experience with dnm's. I'm curious how different the experience of traditional drug dealers and web dealers was. For example, a dealer who moved from the streets to the web, did they experience less anxiety, have to deal with less violence, etc?

Edit: Just realized this is for The Captain Crypto show! Love what you do man. Excited to hear what you have in store for this topic.

One thing that stuck out about the Silk Road that other markets don't have, was a sense of community. Ross Ulbrich had a vision, he wanted people all over the country is not the world to be able to get an eighth of high-quality California bud at California prices, or heroin or mushrooms for whatever the fuck you wanted so long as all parties were consenting that were involved.

Libertas. His philosophy, his belief in free will and his belief in mans right to rise up against oppressive laws. To boot he used Tor and USPS, two US government inventions to thwart those laws. He is paying for these beliefs with his life.

The Silk Road was also unique because it was the first market to combine Tor, Bitcoin and the USPS to create something unique. Many markets follow in his footsteps, but this combo created the hidden services are darknetmarkets that we know today.

I'm sure you probably already know these facts but they stand out as unique to the Silk Road and you may want to cover them.

Why not include Ross Ulbricht and the investigation? That's half the excitement.

You're a few years too late and also have nothing interesting to contribute.

Just because you CAN do something doesn't mean you should

BUZZWORD ALERT! Silk road as in the market from years ago that has no real relevance to anything market wise today?
Can we just retire the name Silk Road?
Call it what it is, the darknet market, or possible places to get materials to get high or scammed.
