What would it take to create a new market?

Not that I'm looking to do so, just curious. How many servers, people and wouldn't you need a lot of money to support the escrow system?

1-2 servers, and 1 non-technical employee with no access to your databases or your money. Any technical employee accessing your sensitive information can either become a target or exploit you personally.

You wouldn't need much if not any money at all aside from your hosting fees.

Depends, the hardest part is knowing how to code - well. Else you will have a dev work with you and you risk losing all the coins from an inside job etc.

Servers are another difficult part- you need front end and backend, read only/dev/load balanced (somehow in TOR) you need lots of reverse proxies and vpns etc etc all usually managed and maintained by a single guy.

So unless you REALLY trust your dev/sysadmins/dba's youre going to have a pretty crap, insecure and unreliable site - like many that have died since SR1 was closed down.

I may be completely wrong, but you shouldn't need a lot of money to support the escrow system. You should need next to none b/c the escrow would come from the customers right? The customers deposit into their account, which would be a wallet your market would control. You use this coin for escrow. Also, many markets charge a vendor bond which I guess helps protect the market if the vendor takes off after escrow is complete and turns out to be a scammer. Although, technically if the custoemr releases funds from escrow, they probably won't get any money back in event of a scam. Or am I missing something?

With people it seems like the fewer the better. Truly gotta get by with the least number possible it seems.

Money shouldn't be an issue. Max 3K for some equipment. It's technical prowess and ingenuity that counts. Can you put a value on that?

What is wrong with the markets out there?

I'm building my own market as we speak, iv invested about 2k so far and am about half way done. I have 2 servers and one guy working on coding as I do the other half, it's really not all that hard it's just a time consuming task to build a market. Watch in the future of the pipeline market

it wouldn't take a whole lot at all. there's a design/hosting firm that will do everything for you. http://cryptdesign.com/

Just do it. Seeing as how you don't know what is involved you will definitely succeed and profit!!!
