if you are USA, no it doesnt. i believe on the usps postal site it says the shipper can choose to have a sig or not. ive revieved express with out sig. check the website and ask the vendor

The vendor can select to have the signature waived however that doesn't mean your postman still won't ask for one. Express packages also receive greater scrutiny so priority is preferred over express

They have to check no signature required. I've received them both ways. If they make you sign it's not the end of the world and the overnight express person might even show up in a personal vehicle and in street clothes.

Assuming you're asking about US, as someone already mentioned, all the vendor has to do is check the box waiving signature (which most vendors probably do by default unless mentioned otherwise on their profile), and you won't have to sign.

A few things about express though: - Some people argue that express is put under more scrutiny. I'm not sure where I come out on this issue, but you can research it and make your own opinion. - Even though you order express/overnight, you might be disappointed when you pay the extra fee and then don't receive it for 2-3 days. I've ordered express on like a Thursday night before in the hope I'd get it for the weekend, but it didn't end up dropping until Monday. It wasn't necessarily the vendor's fault (it was shipped express on the day the vendor said it would be shipped); it's just that the USPS has certain cutoff times and it needs to arrive at a specific post office to guarantee overnight delivery. Plus, as reliable as USPS generally is, sometimes things just don't make it there in time. Long story short, I've received a number of packs when ordering express in the same amount of time as if I would have just ordered priority, making me swear off ever paying extra for express (except I pulled the trigger one time fairly recently when a vendor was offering express for only slightly more than priority and actually did receive overnight, so in the handful of times I ordered express, only one truly made it overnight). - Because of the above point, if express costs significantly more and you're only making a small purchase (therefore the shipping cost taking up a higher total percentage of order), it's probably not worth it. - Research the vendor's recent reviews on the markets and market forums. Don't put too much trust in these as they can be fabricated, but if you see a bunch of people saying that they literally received it overnight, it's a good indication that the vendor is on top of things and will actually send it so that it has a good chance of landing the next day. - Talk to the vendor. Simply ask "If I order [insert product and quantity] by [insert date and time] and order it express to zip code [insert zip code], will I receive it by [insert date you want to receive it]? Also, while I assume this goes without question, if I order express, I won't have to sign for it, right?" Be sure to pgp it (because it contains sensitive data) and make the subject line something that will catch the vendor's eye or not deter him/her from opening and decrypting, such as "About to Order Express, Quick Question". - We are also around the holidays, so things could take longer. Then again, USPS hires subcontractors to help with the extra volume and delivers on Sundays now until Christmas, so the whole "holiday delay" might be mitigated somewhat.

Just some words of advice regarding express shipping. Hope it helps you and people in general.
