Im posting in regards to a couple of other posts that i recently have seen on this reddit. One where the buyer used a fake name and address and another where the order got returned to sender presumably using a real name/address. My understanding after a return to sender item is not picked up it is sent to some facility and then opened by usps to determine value.
2 questions
I assume that most vendors will not touch their return to sender items. So what happens to them? in scenario 1 I assume LE does not do much as they don't have anything real to go on. So does usps just throw the drugs away after it sits there for so long? In scenario 2 if they have real information to go on, does LE always follow up (or only for big orders)?
Has anyone here ever dealt with a return to sender item using their/a friend's real info? What happened (nothing,cd,phone call, letter)?
**Note- talking about domestic US orders
Edit: I should also note Im asking if the return to sender item is sitting at the Post Office where it was originally sent out and not necessarily sent to a random return address.
They go to the same place that all the missing socks go to.
