I may finally be ready...

I have never ordered anything from any DNM. Ordered fake IDs so I get the bitcoin process etc etc. the only thing I'm hung up on is all the anonymous software. If I plan on purchasing say an ounce or less of bud or a little LSD or MDMA all for personal use (what's considered "personal quantities" anyways?) then what security measures are necessary. Currently running only TOR browser bundle and accessing certain accounts (reddit, wallets, etc) from TOR on public wifi enough? I wouldn't order more than once every couple of months and I mentioned the quantities earlier. Am I ok? There's so much out there about "LE wont waste their time with you since you're a small buyer" but also things saying must run tails on Ubuntu and seal yourself in lead painted room using a laptop you can dispose of afterwards (exaggerating of course). any help is useful guys!

If this changes anything I have a mac with no CD drive. I have looked into buying a cheap laptop but is it really necessary...?

I don't do any more than you but it's probably in your best interest to do all you can. Running tails is something we all should do but I haven't done that yet.

I've been ordering for the better part of two years. Anything from a single tab of acid to a couple pounds of bud. Domestic, International, the whole nine yards. You can get away with using a Windows machine, Tor, and using PGP.

For personal use, that's all that's necessary, really. You don't even need a fake ID.

If you plan on buying more than personal amounts domestically or anything on the edge of personal/trafficking quantities internationally, you should use tails and maybe even a VPN.

Always keep sensitive information encrypted. Anything you can't remember. KeePassX is good for password creation and storage. Veracrypt is good for encrypting volumes on your computer or the whole thing (don't encrypt the whole thing, it takes like 7 minutes to boot up). You'll be fine.

I cannot emphasize enough. Go with a reputable vendor. I cannot tell you how many times I've tried someone new and their shit came in a baggie rapped in fucking newspaper, stuffed into a first class box, untaped and just waiting to be profiled. My favorite though was dude who sent me stuff in a bottle with the exact name and weight on it. just open pack and Hi-diddly-ho! rollin' around label on blast. Once a suspicious pack, and these guys aren't idiots they know how to pack their shit, is tagged, I may be shit out of luck. edit: can't forget the wax that came in a basic, white envelope, in a silicone container that protruded from the envelope with my address written across the front.

LOL at lead painted room... you clearly need a Faraday cage but then you will run into issues with WIFI connectivity.

I use a x386 Pentium 166mhz running an old ass version of Linux utilizing a 14.4kpbs dialup modem with a Juno (aka free internet) account that I have connected to my neighbors telephone line that I only use between the hours of 2am and 5am so they wont notice.

"LE wont waste their time with you since you're a small buyer"

This is generally true, but that doesn't mean you can ignore opsec completely, you just don't need quite the level of opsec as a high-volume vendor or a market admin would. LE will still grab low-hanging fruit if it's available.

I started off hyper-security-conscious, but have since laxed some of my personal policies. I no longer tumble coins for example, I just don't think it's necessary if you aren't trying to launder them. I also don't bother connecting to a VPN anymore, I just use Tor.

Basically, just take enough steps so that you aren't broadcasting your identity to the world and you'll be fine as a personal-amounts buyer.
