HENDERSON COUNTY, Ky. (3/19/16) -- A multi-agency investigation led to a Reed man being charged with receiving a controlled substance through the mail last week.

According to a Henderson County Sheriff's report, HCS deputies, a U.S. Postal Inspector and Pennyrile Narcotics Task Force detectives conducted the investigation after receiving information that Paul E. Yeater, 41, had been receiving Suboxone through the postal service.

During the investigation, detectives learned that Yeater was receiving a mailed package from an acquaintance in Ohio under a bogus female name, the report said.

The report also said that at approximately noon Thursday, March 17 detectives conducted a controlled delivery of Yeater's mailed package. When Yeater accepted and signed for the package, detectives and the U.S. Postal Inspector conducted interviews with Yeater and members of this family. The Priority Mail package contained Suboxone and paperwork on mailing and payment receipts Yeater made through Western Union were also recovered.

Yeater was charged with second-degree possession of a controlled substance/opiates and lodged in the Henderson County Detention Center, where he is being held on a $25,000 cash bond.

The investigation is continuing.

This story is just sad, nothing to see here except that drug laws violate human rights.

It's sad yeah but everyone who gets into this should know the risks. And one of the most important rules is to never tell anyone where your stuff comes from. Especially when it comes through the mail, that's a federal crime.

He's lucky he didn't get charged with getting drugs through the mail. All he got was a possession charge.
