Bitcoin ATM

Does anyone have experience with these and how do they work? Looking to get some coin up tonight to get an order in but a little hesitant to use the BTC atm, although it is my best option at this point.

Thanks

I have one very close by. It takes your picture, scans your DL that confirms it's you in the picture, and scans your fingerprints. Pass.

Quite a few are equipped with camera's and even fingerprint/id scanners - so making sure you are cautious in that aspect is important if you are trying to be truly anonymous to the point of an LE investigation coming up empty.

localbitcoins is a pretty easy option - and quite a few of the "dealers" on there don't require actual information either in your account or from you to sell, and offer options that range from paypal to cash in mail to gift cards and wu. I would probably suggest LBTC before a BTC ATM, but it might not be as quick and turnkey for someone if they've never localbitcoins before.

I was actually looking into them the other day. There's two around me but I think you can only deposit with them and not withdraw. I'd assume the fee's are about the same as LBC depending on the trader.

I think some atm's use different software. But all basically the same thing. You go to the atm, provide it with a wallet and you just feed the money to the machine.

I also have to agree with young_k though, LBC bank deposit would probably be a lot better and faster, but the atm would be a good second option. (it's mine)

I use one fairly often. The ones I've seen around don't need your ID, no sms verification, and fingerprints, or any of that bullshit. Scan my phone, insert my cash and I have my coins instantly. Same goes for selling coins through the atm.

I have used one. They charge a hefty fee, expect to pay 20-30$ in fees. They do have cameras, but I hear this is because they have had a problem with the machine accepting counterfeit bills. At least that's the case with the Lamassu machines. Definitely tumble your coins from these machines.

[1 Points] Satoshi-:

Look for "Lamassu" Atm's in your area,

https://lamassu.is/maps/

They are pretty basic, have no id checks and are easy to use.

Simply insert cash, display your bitcoin addy qr code into the little box (hide your face from the camera inside the box if you wish) and you will have your bitcoin.

whats the point if they look all the id and shit. It defeats the whole point

Used a lamassu machine for the first time, today. Incredibly simple. No picture taken. Just scan your QR code and then insert your money. The exchange rate was 501 USD/BTC however.

LibertyX or LBC.

The one here only asks for your bitcoin wallet and that's it.
