oasis questions

I'm just wondering whats gone on with oasis this last week,. I know they are gone and I'm reading a few of the threads and commenting too,but I'm not sure exactly went on, did they just up and leave? Was it the cops trying to get info on vendors and buyers alike or was it some guys that possibly got robbed IRL held at gun point to transfer the coins or did they just shut down and are possibly in the process of starting a new market. There are a lot of story's going around will we ever find out what really happened??

Have many of you lost a lot of coin? How do they manage to disappear with people's coin all the time. It seems like this sub is full of people saying the words "exit scam" I'm fed up reading it by the way,. Is there no way to protect your self from a market pissing off with your hard earned coin?

Thanks dudes I'm just curious to know what u all think. I'm new to all this and it is fascinating stuff

One thing is for sure, they are experts at creating markets and coding, it would be hard for them not to create another market and try again if they don't already have one running imo

There is a lot of speculation, as you mentioned there are various 'conspiracy' threads about the whole situation. But nobody apart from the Oasis owners know, and it will most likely stay that way.

I never lost anything, I never made an account on Oasis. To protect yourself from losing money from an exit scam, keep your money on an offline wallet and use 2-3 multi-sig. When a market exit scams they basically take all the funds that people have in escrow / their market wallet.

Essentially, nobody knows. They closed up shop and dipped. There's plenty of FUD, and no solid evidence of anything.

Is it a full time job to run a market then?

What kind of work goes into the day to day stuff of keeping it running smoothly?

With the kind of btc that one of the threads here is talking about it seems to me like the business plan of the markets is finalized by walking away with a chunk of the users money, seems like there is no honour amongst thieves in the market running game.

We need to vote with our coin and stick to the multi Sig platforms, eventually the markets that are losing out on money will all go multi Sig and we as customers will win then. The way people are getting ripped off hand over fist it's only a matter of time really.
