Vendor's Ideal Market

I am planning a marketplace( large knowledge in the technologies involved ) but i have little to no interest in being just one more like all others so i would like the opinions of professional vendors regarding general features, payment methods, vendor's individual presence in the market, rules and whatever you want to idealize how the market should be. Maybe we may come something that is worth to release in the deep web.

The number one concern of vendors is unfettered access to their own takings.; A simple escrow is fine, but it needs plenty of fair admin staff to arbitrate. Most important is AUTO WITHDRAW TO THE VENDOR'S OWN OFFSITE WALLET.

No marketplace can keep the keys to our cash register anymore, we're sorry. You've taken your 5% already. We don't need you to "look after" the remaining 95%.

The customer intends us to have that. Its none of your business.

SheepMarketplace actually had a nice design. vendors liked their gallery feature.

Agora has thought out the vendor interface really well. Each order has its own mailbox for messages associated with that order.

The general mailbox doesn't even get looked at by some vendors. Its like a combined spam / trash folder, full of nutters, blackmailers and other vendors playing games.

An ideal marketplace must never steal from us. Its owner and servers should be anywhere outside US Jurisdiction.

Most important of all, the owner should retire in an orderly manner BEFORE he goes insane or gets arrested. Pre announce it a fortnigt before it happens.

They could retire in the sun with nobody chasing them. If they get bored and come out of retirement, their next marketplace would be uber-credible and trusted.

I think at this point they would flock anywhere that has A) Consistent up time B) Pages load fast.

Yep, there's not enough DNMs so this is a great idea.

How about you YOU facilitate sales... then instead of CUSTOMERS trusting YOU (the DNM admin)... Instead YOU trust CUSTOMERS/VENDORS to pay YOU commission?

What about something less like a market and more like Onionshop? There are so many established vendors without a solid resting place. They won't accept centralized escrow, but multisig is probably not ready for acceptably smooth implementation. Buyers have shown that FE is acceptable to them with established vendors.

A smooth-running no escrow vendor shop host with a business model based in vendor subscription to the market place (like a hosting fee) may be both achievable and strongly desired by the community.

-Each vendor has their own page and sets their own terms of trade: (like an onionshop as mentioned earlier) - vendors can purchase their own .onion address through the market place - where their store is hosted on a server externally to the market. As a market operator you act as the middle man between vendor and server hosting service, obviously charging a premium/commission on all hosting purchases/subscription. This way if market server is down, vendor shops can possibly still remain up and operational (ie if a vendor/everyone could see what vendors have 22 days of paid hosting remaining in case of market downtime/exit scam). The original market could still have a vendor's profile but also direct buyers to the vendors onion address

-Can specify FE only sales, with all BTC transferred directly to a wallet chosen by vendor (- a % commission if desired), use multi-sig transactions (not like evo or BB multi sig) - or opt to allow Escrow (some buyers will never change their ways) ->Escrow can be limited (ie a vendor can specify escrow is only for orders under $x , or there is only a set limit of funds that can be held in escrow at any one time (ie $500 - and when that is filled, customers can elect to either FE or queue to use the vendors escrow allocation - ie after one order is finalized, the amount in escrow falls and the customer first on the list with an order value smaller than the remaining escrow allowance has their order accepted)

-Automated withdawals to vendors chosen wallet if first suggestion isn't used (as soon as funds clear escrow or multi-sig / WHATEVER they are automatically transferred to a set wallet off-site)

-Ability to see complete list of a buyers feedback when browsing a vendors feedback (you may have to anonymize product or other vendors) - but allow users to see if feedback is left by shill accounts or rival vendors

-If escrow or multi-sig is used, the ability to release BTC associated with postage costs while remaining funds remain in escrow/multi-sig. This can be a hassle to vendors who have many orders in escrow and use international mail / postage and stealth techniques that are costly
