I tend to agree with the point around 32:00 (the illegal stuff isn't solved by catching a few fkrs, the root of the problem is that there are reasons for ppl to abuse kids and that there are ppl who are paying for watching someone abusing kids). But the political layer of that is just as clear. An average joe seeing in the news something along the lines "thanks to the internet we have found the conceptual principle of children abuse" would be just like "wtf what am I supposed to do with that bs? I need to see real bad people getting handcuffed, otherwise I cannot get the feeling of public security". No way around this.

Interesting talk, I of course also agree with the philosophy of getting to the root of the problem serving a far better function than just banning/censoring the problem. I especially liked when Jacob Applebaum told the LEO he should install Tor on his work computer to keep others from snooping on ongoing investigations. Really highlighting the point that if software is backdoored, essentially everyone has access whether you intend it or not.
