Maybe several others DNM bros I have helped will chime in, who took my advice and built the below machine with much success and satisfaction. This was a while back, so I doubt they will even catch the topic in order to chime in.
Perfect DNM box bc: inexpensive, lightweight, thin, highly compatible with Linux
Dell Latitude D430 (has no optical drive, making it thin, lightweight, small in overall size and easy to transport). Think Nexus 10 size and weight.
You can find one on eBay or Amazon for under $60 with up to 4gb RAM.
Pull out the HDD and just boot from your persistent Tails USB. That provides a very good layer of security. If you don't want to pull the HD, wipe Win completely and do a full install of UbuntuLubuntu 14.04 LTS (or any Linux distro you research first).
The D430 has a high Linux compatability rating according to Linlap.com

Edit: It has a similar size and weight of a netbook, but has the power of a business grade machine.

Don't get any kind of Android/iOS (phone, tablet, etc.) device. You want something that you have complete control over the operating system for, e.g., a cheap laptop or desktop. Hard drive is optional.
A cheap one. I like /u/Derrick4Real's suggestion of an old Dell Latitude; they're good machines.
Craigslist for cash would be the ideal way to get it, otherwise any other classified-type thing is gonna be your best bet for privacy. If you must, you could order it off ebay, and you'll save some money that way, too. But it'll leave a paper trail, and if you're super tin foil-hatted, leaves you open to an NSA/DITU package interdiction with ultra-advanced malware implant.
You also definitely don't need a separate computer for this stuff; plenty of people use their normal machines. Just remove the hard drive and boot off of TAILS when you wanna browse the markets.

Thanks guys , soo no netbook? Or are netbooks acceptable ?
Whatever computer you're using now is fine (as long as it's not a smartphone). If you're worried about it, download TAILS onto a flash drive and use that for your DNM activities.
