TAILS and Electrum users

Hey,

I currently have Electrum set up on my TAILS persistence but can't get it run through the hidden server using the command line ./electrum -s 56ckl5obj37gypcu.onion:50001:t -p socks5:localhost:9050

So my question is who here simply uses the non-hidden servers found automatically by Electrum? By changing the network settings to socks5, localhost 9050? I have managed to make Electrum connect by doing this... But does this reduce anonymity? Will LE be able to see my real IP address or does it still go through the tor network?

Many thanks

No need for that. I set up Electrum with SOCKS5, 127.0.0.1, 9050 .

A Tails/Tor expert needs to chime in for clarification, but Tails claims to route all outgoing connections through Tor, regardless of the "Insecure Connection Attempt" warning it gives you.

I'm not sure if the hidden server/persistence factor changes that, but it's my understanding that it does not. Everything Tails does goes through Tor, that's kind of the whole point of the system in the first place.

For whatever reason, on my Debian box Electrum only works with Tor when using SOCKS4.
