PSA: DO NOT USE CIRCLE unless you have a account from 1 month ago or later

Just wanted to notify everyone that Circle is not letting any new user accounts buy Bitcoin without a verified ID now. This change was made a few weeks ago.

Also beware of buying from Circle - they are rumored to be implementing a system that'll track coins down to the 3rd level so make sure to not use this company!

LBC has many Wells Fargo listings that don't require ID.

Edit: Yes - 3rd wallet hop. Coinbase is just as bad FYI... They already have a system that tracks down to the 2-3rd wallet hop.

TLDR: Don't use any exchanges. They will track you. Only real anonymous way to get bitcoin now is by cash. Lets hope Wells Fargo doesnt make a policy to ID for cash deposits. Chase and BOA already are doing this.

Everybody here is being ridiculous. You really think having a picture of your ID is really different from having your credit card and bank information? Do you not think LE can link the two anyway?

Tumbling makes this a non-issue.

implementing a system that'll track coins down to the 3rd level

You mean the 3rd wallet hop? Like, CB>Electrum>Electrum>BC.i>DNM will get your account closed without recourse (like I have been saying is just a matter of time for ages now)?

[7 Points] Thethrowawayyy000:

Circle>electrum>LBC account with different IP> to another LBC with different IP> to yet another LBC with different IP> to market/to tails electrum wallet> to DNM. They can't link the lbc accounts to you. Register using emails from 10minutemail and info from fakenamegenerator.

Fuck Circle, fuck Coinbase, fuck all these mother fucking people who are trying to fuckup bitcoin. The very core of bitcoin is that we are able to transact amongst each other without a third party getting in the way. We as a community should boycott these suck a dick services, take it back to LBC and empower the system.

What is the big deal in this? I used coin.mx with my ID for the longest time. Like a year and a half... And had no problems what so ever at all. Not like I've had my door knocked on every purchase I've made but then again. Dem niggas is criminals 2 ;)

[5 Points] noonehear:

Coinbase asked for my ID. So I sent it to them covered in freshly trimmed pubic hair.

Cover your bases and who cares if they have your id!

So if we tumble are we okay?

Even using local bitcoins the walmart takes my boys i.d with the moneygram. If they wanna find you they will. But i dont think circle is looking into the address you send the coins into... seems like a great way to lose buisness.

[4 Points] darkmarke:

I bought my bitcoin on Circle with a CC# 2 days ago. Took 5 minutes and my first time using it. No ID was required or mentioned just a txt back to a cell. Did I get the lucky not updated server or is this bullshit? It said I had a $300 limit maybe that's what the ID is all about.

[3 Points] FrozenMCVegetableCok:

I'm not sure about this as I set up an account within the past couple weeks and have zero issue and have not been asked for ID.

What they did do was remove any mention of bitcoin from the send page. Now you just enter a bitcoin address into the email field and send in dollars and it converts automatically at the market rate. If you send them to your circle btc address, it functions as a wallet while converting.

[2 Points] Vendor_BBMC:

The good thing about localbitcoins is that it doesn't touch cash or have accounts which hold fiat. It barely touches bitcoin. You just agree the cash or bank payment between yourself and another private individual, the cash transaction takes place offsite and LBC just acts as an escrow for the bitcoin. When he's happy he's been paid, the person selling the bitcoin presses a button and they're handed over.

Governments really think there is a thriving non-drug bitcoin economy. But any company which cooperates with regulation will go out of business.

[3 Points] coffeencreme:

So just tumble?

[2 Points] deepwebSAVAGE:

This isn't true. I've bought btc from em in the last month with a new account and still can in fact. Also, if you don't tumble enough you shouldn't be using dnm's to begin with. And where did you hear about this tracking ish?

What would you recommend as an alternative that is as user friendly as Circle is?

[1 Points] qsift2:

who's talking??

[1 Points] _-________________-_:

People aren't going to have a choice soon enough, Coinbase/Circle is slowly but surely demanding ID scans from all existing accounts that have surpassed a certain [fairly low] volume of buys or sells. I guarantee that sooner or later, they will ask for ID when first setting up an account before even doing a single transaction, just like a normal brick-and-mortar bank would.

Not only are they required to by law (AML/KYC), but it makes the barrier for potential fraudsters a bit harder.

[1 Points] turtlesonbeach:

I got circle 2 weeks ago and used about 250 total in this time never send to more than one wallet... But I also didn't need to show my id...

[1 Points] turtlesonbeach:

Could you send from circle wallet to blockchain wallet then do blockchains shared send and then to darknet be enough? I feel like there are still legal products on the darknet so just sending coin to a darknet doesn't automatically make you a criminal.

[1 Points] None:

I signed up for Circle on Tuesday. Bought bitcoin with my credit card no ID required.

Have you seen the shit Coinbase puts you through?

[1 Points] gigicup:

should i add another wallet in here:

circle > coinbase > tor (blockchain > bitcoin blender > DNM

[1 Points] TripAddict:

Don't really think they are doing this to track who buys what bitcoins, but rather to prevent fraud more than anything.

[1 Points] stiktalk:

yo reading all these opinions on tumbling gives me diarrhea.

someone who knows what the fuck theyre talking about should answer, and get upvoted

[0 Points] yalldontknowjack:

I am going to generate fake e-mails, where I purchase something to the next wallet. After that they are no longer my coins, someone else controls the numbers in the ledger.
