Hi! I've read everything I can get my hands on regarding DNM safety and the following steps are what I've taken to make first DNM (Agora) purchases. Would love ANY FEEDBACK on any issues or holes you see in my security measures.
I'm on a MAC and have decided to forgo TAILS or tumbling based on what I've read ... aside from those two objects that will obviously be an issue for some, here is what I've done:
1) Used Tor for accessing DNM ...
2) Disabled IPv6 (per Reddit DNM Mac guide: http://www.reddit.com/r/DarkNetMarketsNoobs/wiki/mac)
3) Used keywords and passphrases generated by 1password and storing all in 1password (I have a feeling this may be an issue for some?)
4) Transferred BTC from Coinbase to Electrum Wallet > Agora (no tumbling)
5) Placed order and used PGP encrypted message for address to vendor using their PGP key.
6) A few times I had BTC left over and transferred back from Agora to Electrum Wallet (I have a feeling this was not the smartest move?)
Questions:
1) What am I missing or doing wrong based on the above?
2) I moving BTC from Agora back to wallet really stupid? Would it be safer if I tumbled it when moving it back to wallet?
3) Once the orders are filled, would it make sense or is even possible to get a new Electrum Wallet that does not have a record of previous transactions on it????
4) What can I do after the fact to clean up Mac of any traces of DNM transactions???
I love you all, thank you for your help!
You might want to encrypt your harddrive. Mac's can do this with the FileVault feature in the app store. It does not save your password to your Apple ID, nor does it send the password to Apple Servers.
