We made some changes to the sidebar. Info inside.

Hey guys,

You might have noticed some changes to the sidebar. The changes were made to give multisig markets more recognition since they deserve more trust than the rest. Centralized escrow markets can be found below the multisig capable markets. Markets with warnings can be found at the bottom of the sidebar.

We also removed any "vendor markets" or what are basically vendor storefronts. This means The Armory and farmer1's forum were removed. The reason this change was made is because these "markets" typically do not offer escrow, offer no 3rd party dispute mediation, and are not technically marketplaces. Lately more of these vendor storefronts have been approaching us looking for sidebar space and we think as time goes on more and more of these vendor storefronts will emerge and we simply cannot list them all so this decision had to be made. Most likely we will add these vendor storefront links into a new "DarkNet Directory" page in the Wiki.

Lastly, we alphabetized the list to remove any potential for abuse. Now everyone can rest assured the only way to get on top of the list is to have multisig and market name that starts with an "A". We welcome the first one to succeed.

That's all for now,

IGDS

I like these changes.

Bummed. :/

Why should I be removed for not having escrow? I have a longer reputation then the entire sidebar combined. I have lost money to two escrow services so far (SR1 and Sheep). Both times I shipped all my orders knowing very well I would never be paid for them. I have proven that I protect my customers in spite of escrow.

Decentralization of escrow is certainly an improvement, but decentralization of the entire marketplace is best. You will only be able to ignore it for so long as new solutions are being built every day. Don't fight it, but rather nurture it in hope that one day it may improve all our lives.

I believe this is a step in the right direction: http://onionshopkue7sxr.onion/farmer1/

It is a hosting solution that requires zero trust in the host. All bitcoin addresses are provided by me directly (via seeded wallet master public key), and my PGP public key is available for encrypting your address.

Since the service allows for a master public key it means the bitcoins can not be hacked. The moment you send them they are in my control, off-line, and cold.

Well, at least I still have r/farmer1... so I've go that going for me. ;D

Coming soon AAA+++ marketplace.

Good call though, I always thought the arbitrary ordering was weird.

Wouldn't you have to remove TMG in this case as well?
