"Suspicious Packs" - Who is looking, and what they look for.

This is just a reminder for the community about what is considered to be a "suspicious" pack. The links provided are directives given to those charged with seeking out and handleing these packs from various mail rooms and sorting locations. Most of this information is known to some of us already, but it's always a good idea to keep knowledge like this fresh around here.

The links provided show that many of these sorting locations and mail rooms are not equipped with X-ray machines or drug sniffing dogs. It seems that the consensus of many of these places is to seek out explosives and chemical/biological threats through mostly visual means. The average mail room worker is not hunting down strips of LSD blotters and 10 packs of ecstacy pills.

However, knowing this should not make anyone complacent, because outside of these small sorting locations the USPS and various LE agencies have been upping their game. We do know that some packs do indeed get flagged and we know there are many factors that contribute to this happening. Hot countries is one of the main ones. There is also the possibility that a vendor has been targeted due to poor OpSec, failed delivery, or IRL issues and packs become profiled. And then there is the shittiest of them all, the anonymous tip from a snitch, because some buyer couldn't keep their mouth shut and someone has exposed them. X-Ray machines and dogs are used on these parcels.

The only thing that prevents all mail from being scrutinized, is the sheer volume of mail that is moved everyday. There is not enough man power and too small a budget to inspect them all.

That's not to say they aren't aware and aren't taking steps to counter this.

If you follow the links in that article you will find most of them lead straight back to this sub. Some users here are famous,( or infamous ). Regardles we know LE and reporters are always here.

This is another beauty that is bad for our health. Again notice the links in that article will bring you back to post in our sub.

Everyone should keep their OpSec up to date. Vendors should take precautionary steps with their stealth and to mix it up in order to minimize the probability of getting their packs profiled. Clean professional packaging is important to both buyer and vendor.

Some of these are completely stupid:

Handwritten or poorly typed address.

Misspellings of common words.

Excessive tape or string.

How the fuck are these things "suspicious"? Although I suppose it might have to be combined with other more suspicious factors to be flagged.

Ab-so-lutely. Thinking that you'll PROBABLY be alright is nowhere near as good as actually being alright.

Of course, it's company policy never to imply ownership in the event of a dildo. We have to use the indefinite article, "a dildo", never ... your dildo.
