It's the infrastructure, stupid

The elephant in the room here is that the entire dnm economy has a single point of failure. Although we're likely to have some warning before being left SOL, it may not be much time. Worse, the ongoing viability of this essential dnm infrastructure depends on notoriously incompetent people who could at best care less about you, at worst hate you. Finally, these incompetents are now beholden to a completely unpredictable power tripper who hates drugs, loves authority and has tiny hands.

What the fuck do we do when he shuts down USPS because it's a loser of a business? Or there is some terrorist plot with mail bombs that the FBI thwarts (because they also planned it), so due to "emergency" the first amendment gets ignored and all parcels subject to being opened.

Alternative delivery mechanisms must be devised, including ones without third party deliverers. I'm thinking GPS coordinates and dead drops.

If the guy in that house in DC ever hears about dnms from a special episode of saved by the bell or something, he shuts down usps on a whim. we need a method of delivering drugs that does not depend on the same entity that enforces drug laws

I only read the first paragraph but idek wtf you're trying to say and the fact you kept using those big words that you probably thought made you seem more sophisticated and make you seem like you know what you're talking about, actually made you seem dumber in my eyes.

Hold on, did you not see the shitpost about drones and role-playing and dlcs and shit? If president Trump shuts down the USPS (which will not happen period) than we'll use mother fucking drones for our goodies.

Or gasp, we all have to go back to dealing in person, which has worked for plenty of time....

I don't know that there'll be anything better anytime soon, but I sure hope some visionary read your post and has just started his synapses working on something crazy.

Like encryption for packages or something. A fleet of drones that swarm randomly and swap packages with each other. Drone submarines that only surface at a specified time and location to pick up/drop off. Homing pigeons with gps tracking.

The people having a go at you for asking are small-minded fools. Most people can't have unique thoughts. The current system is far from perfect, there's no such thing as a stupid question, and nothing's going to ever change without someone asking, "how"?

The mail system is not going anywhere...

One of us should start a third party mail distribution company
