Here's an article (translated). The institute keeps finding more different shapes and strengths of XTC they confiscated, and thus concludes that competition is higher. I thought it could also just be because it's increasingly popular to source drugs from all over the world through the internet, so naturally there would be more different kinds then when it was all more local.
It's crazy how MDMA is booming right now when compared to what the situation was even 4-5 years ago. You simply could not find a solid pill in northern europe and even if you somehow managed to find a pill that contained actual MDMA, it would never be more than 80-100 mg tops (more like 60mg per pill). Knowing someone who sold pure MDMA was extremely rare too and the prices could be up to 140€/G.
Everything's changed now. Almost every pill in circulation here lately contains at least some actual MDMA and you can find quality pills for a fair "Nordic price". While pure MDMA keeps on getting sold for around 100€/G, availability has become much less of an issue and the supply is getting stronger all the time.
I think MDMA is only starting to make its breakthrough here.
I've been trying to find information on what has changed in the last few years, but haven't really found any solid info about it. Been thinking it has to have something to do with the availability of Safrole. Maybe some big Asian crime syndicates producing it in large quantities in Asia? You read about these MEGA-scale safrole busts of few tonnes at a time - while a few get caught a dozen slip through.
Maybe some Briton could chime in on this would be interresting to know how things really were 5 years ago and when the change started to happen. I think the piperazine-boom is mostly over now?
