I fucked up. Don't drunk-deal!

So like two weeks ago when the markets were especially shitty, I was planning a party and needed some blow fast. I had dealt with a vendor several times before, and love him. Super fast shipping, super great product.

I saw "him" posting on this sibreddit thanking people for reviews, etc. Checked out his profile, and it really seemed like him. It wasn't even a new profile. I was just drunkenly browsing reddit, so I was pretty relaxed and not worried.

I DMed him and he gave me his Wickr name. I added him and we agreed on a deal that was his normal prices, and he would ship immediately.

So I asked for his PGP and sent my address and a $350 payment. I did everything immediately and super fast because it was late afternoon and I wanted him to ship that day with other packages he claimed he was about to ship.

Well I bet you can guess where this is going... I continued drinking, went out with friends later, etc. I woke up the next day and realized my mistake. I never made him confirm it was actually him. Fuck. It wasn't the real vendor. Nothing showed up. I messaged the real vendor once Dream was back up and asked about Wickr. He said he doesn't use it. Fuck. Fuck. Fuck.

Whatever. Now I'm out $350, but at least the shithead doesn't have my address, because I did verify the PGP on grams.

Call me an idiot all you want, I know I am. Lesson learned. It's probably best to avoid direct deals off a market without escrow, but if you have to do it, verify who you are talking to.

at least you are smarter than all this dumbasses getting scammed the same way and come here claiming vendor xyz scammed them.

I find doing all transactions on meth is the only way I can ensure true protection from scams

Sorry for your loss. To chip in on this: Also be wary for fake tumbler websites. A customer we direct dealth with insisted that he transferred us $450, and we checked in every nook and cranny but it was nowhere to be found. Later he found out the website he used to tumble his coins was fake.. :(

This sucks. At least, lesson learned.

The same guy tried to do this to me too... I called his bluff when the language he was using didn't at all read like the real user. He wouldn't send me a message from Reddit to verify any accounts either so I called him out and he went away. Always be cautious and verify when you can
