Drugs, yes. Theft and fraud, no.

When SR 1 opened I was thrilled. It seemed to strike a blow for freedom in the world. To peacefully use chemicals on one's own body seems to me to be a fundamental human right.

HOWEVER (and I know there are philosophical/principle arguments about "free" markets)- I don't like seeing the carders, counterfeits, and fraud marketers. These are crimes that hurt all of us. I believe supporting theft in this manner is going to be unproductive and give governments the public support they need to make DNMs public enemy number 1.

We all know how the media is. If it is just drugs there is a quietly large group of people who tacitly support this. But once you start getting stories about "guns, hitmen, stolen property at the click of a mouse" even our supports get upset.

I can already here the counter arguments (eg "where do you think your drugs come from?" etc), but I remain firmly convinced. I'm not judging anybody. You do what you have to to survive in the world, but I would propose to the mods that we not allow posts regarding theft and fraud.

I'd also like to propose that we create and support some DNM funded charities. I'd love to see large amounts of money raised for children's hospitals, ALS and cancer research. If we can win the PR battle we can ultimately win this war.

This is not right. Darknetmarkets is about illegal things - NOT specifically drugs. Just because you don't like it doesn't mean that others don't use the markets for them. And then you say that drugs cannot hurt us? That's not true.

I don't think we will ever win the PR battle. For years, people have loved to hate on drug users. You don't even have to abuse drugs to be hated for the drug use.

A lot of people here are advocates for harm reduction, and will often times donate their extra coin to Erowid or other harm reduction charities. Though, I would like to see people support the EFF more, it is not as directly related to drugs.

I don't like the carders and other various fraud on the markets but I think no matter what, the media is always going to spin the markets and drug users into a negative light. I've seen a couple news reports that mention hitmen and CP on Agora which is simply not true.

Thank you for this post.

Agreed cause it's not a victimless crime.

Something else. If this forum is ok with outright theft (in the form of carding, hacked bank accounts), then why not go all the way and have vendors discuss the best ways to scam us buyers. I mean, anything goes right?

[2 Points] al_eberia:

Carders are also the online demographic most heavily targeted by the Feds. The FBI has been running and infiltrating carding forums for years, busting lots of people.

Carding is also one of the areas where the Feds can actually work as vendors, as the FBI can simply get valid CC numbers from bank anti fraud departments, sell them to people then track exactly how they are used.

I see and understand the sentiment of what you're saying, but it's such a judgement call since much of it is a grey area. What about those selling hacked Netflix accounts? Is it hurting the person for someone to fraudulently use their account without their knowledge or consent? While someone using another's credit card without their knowledge is clearly wrong and illegal and certainly creates a hassle for them to get a new card issued, are they greatly hurt? They won't have to pay for the fraudulent charges. It's not like you're taking money from them, just giving them a minor headache to deal with. Drugs on the other hand, can possibly and have both ruined and taken lives. Not defending either side, just something to think about.

[1 Points] cautious_cumface:

Also your point about PR is bang on, this massive fraud machine, and especially the kiddy stuff will bring massive pressure to bear on the whole deepweb by nsa, gchq and other intelligence agencies and the many recreational users who don't want to deal with dangerous ppl and sometimes dangerous product could be swept up in a shit storm.

You make a good point, but it's purely academical as with crime one always follows another.

Edit: spelling(tablets suck for typing)

Lmao, get yo hippie ass outta here. What the hell. This is a place for illegal shit. Period.
