To preface this post I'd like to say, I buy a lot of wax from the markets. I won't say exactly how much obviously, but it's over 10lbs all together. So I want wax vendors to be aware of some things that I have learned with my experiences as a customer.
I have received various packs with various packing methods and these are some of my experiences. These experiences obviously apply to bulk orders (1oz minimum). The biggest issues I run into, are the wax being too thinly laid on the parchment so it melts into in transit, not enough parchment being used to fully contain all of the wax, and not having a single piece of parchment being used to contain the wax.
To address the first issue, it's the middle of summer, packs are sitting in 100+ degree heat multiple times in transit. NO matter what the quality of the wax is, it will melt and when it is thinly laid, it melts INTO the parchment itself, making it extremely hard to get off the paper if not impossible. For example my last order I pulled 2oz's off a QP order, the other 2oz's were melted into the parchment. That's basically like the vendor only sending you half your order.
This issue leads into my next concern which is this; When vendors put just enough parchment over the slab, the heat once again causes the the wax to melt and seep into the vac seal around the parchment, also causing the same issue of loss of product.
The third and final issue seems to be where the solution to all of this is. Many vendors seem to lay the slab on one sheet of parchment and then lay another on top of the slab. This doesn't contain the slab whatsoever and is what causes it to be able to leak out.
To wrap things up, I propose a solution. The best way I have received a pack was from William Shatner, I'm only name dropping him because he is an amazing vendor and deserves the recognition. He packed it the smart way. It wasn't multiple thin slabs, it was in one pretty thick slab that was wrapped in parchment all the way around with a single piece of parchment. Not a piece on top and a piece on the bottom but one sheet wrapped around multiple times in order to contain the melting as much as possible. The slab was thick enough to not melt into the paper, and I pulled all of the product off easily.
So to end my long rant, basically from the heart of a bulk wax buyer, please vendors pack your orders with care, I know the heat makes it hard, but there is ways to do it correctly.
honestly if its truly wax vendors should be using cheap silicone containers. i flip crumble/wax as such. shatter i just straight use double parchment.
check out cb2013 for wax if you're having problems with the shipping. comes in one or two containers
