Moving real soon, help please

Whats up, I am moving to a new apartment in a few days, would I be ok to order to that address the day I move in? I just don't want mail from previous tenants to confuse the mailman thinking my package is a wrong name.

I'd advise to wait it out until you get more of a mail flow in

people move all the time, i'm sure mailmen are used to it. should not be that big of an issue. however, if you want to wait for a more steady flow of mail (like aft3rm4th suggested), I don't see anything wrong with that either.

Go ahead and send yourself a few things in the mail, meaningless stuff or whatever, to break the mailman in and make sure you are getting things.

Edit: and fill out a change of address form.

People move in and out all the time. Just switch the name on the mailbox to yours and you should be all good. Shows that you "claimed residency"

No need to wait.

I moved into a house, with roommates. They were already there. Each member of the household (4) gets mail regularly. Past tenants mail still shows up (at least 3 people) and even the landlord gets mail there sometimes.

So it really doesn't matter. People change houses. People move out. Roommates move in. Etc. don't worry.

dude, don't worry about it. forward your mail from your current address to your new one and make sure you fill out a slip if needed with your name on it so your mailman knows that you're going to be receiving mail there now. after that's done, you're golden (well, assuming these are personal sized orders).
