This is my first post, and probably my only. A friend of mine who got me interested in all things internet, including this forum, passed away today. By no means was he a well known name in this community, but he supported many of the ideals this forum represents. He was a good guy without a mean word to be said.
Moderation is not something I often find in the discussions here, but should not be overlooked. Enjoy your fun, support your causes and defend your rights. Just be smart about it, death never furthers any of those things. If anyone here ever find themselves, or knows someone, who could use some support(an ear, or some help material etc), just know its here. There is no shame in acknowledging when a recreational activity becomes a required activity.
Edit: thank you all for your positive support.
Edit: In an effort to respect his family, and an inability to obtain certain details about the substance in question, I cant get anymore specific. Again, thank everyone for your encouragement. I like the idea for a support or education thread. It would prove useful to several people and may prevent another loss.
Edit: Thank you for the gold, and thank you to all who have posted here. Today has been a dim day and these posts have been very uplifting and encouraging. To those who choose to salute with a drink I thank you, and to those who have chosen to take a break I thank you. I shared this with a member of his family who I thought would understand and she conveys her thanks and a message of caution and support to others who may be struggling. I hope that others do not have to experience a loss like this, and I will support any effort to help those who have lost their grip.
Condolences. It doesn't matter whether he was well known. He was one of us.
