Electrum hasn't confirmed my payment in 24 hours

Yesterday I sent washed Bitcoin to an electrum wallet, then I tried to send the bitcoin from the wallet to a darkmarket bitcoin address. In the electrum wallet on tails it still says unconfirmed and it's been 24 hours! The Blockchain shows that the transaction was made and the funds were recieved but I still have zero confirmations on it. I'm absolutely positive that I have the right URL and bitcoin address; Why hasn't this gone through yet? What will happen to the bitcoin? Should I contact Electrum support or the "darkmarket's" support?

Just gotta give it time. If you still have 0 confirmations after like 3 days you will get your coin back. Next time set your mining fee higher

Edit. Your coins are not gone don't worry about that

Next time use a higher fee and check the amount of unconfirmed transactions first

The same thing has happened to me (made a transaction yesterday, still not confirmed), but it has nothing to do with Electrum, nor the market, but with the fee I used, which was way too low. I've read a good deal about fees and confimation time today, and it's important to set a high enough fee so miners have an [extra] incentive to process your transaction.

Go to this website to check the ideal rate, which is currently 120 satoshis/byte. Electrum uses BTC/kB, so you need to convert it multiplying by 1024 [bytes/kB] and dividing by 108 [satoshi/BTC]. Therefore, the ideal fee should be 0.0012288 BTC/kB, and your transaction should be confirmed within 15 minutes.

Edit: meanwhile you can try this website, which claims to include your unconfirmed transaction (with a minimum 0.0001 BTC/kB fee) in the next block

I just made a thread like this a few hours ago.

There is a huge backlog of transactions atm. It's a problem with bitcoin itself not electrum or dnms. As others have said give a higher transaction fee next time.

Electrum defaults to a fee of 50 satoshis per byte. Even on a good day that's not enough to get confirmed quickly. The blockchain is backed up now. You're going to want to use a fee of at least 100 satoshis per byte. You can set that easily in the Electrum preferences.

Thanks guys and sorry that this is almost identical to a post put on here like yesterday haha. I guess it's just backed up because I always make sure I'm at least equal to the ideal fee. Just want to make sure I'm not getting scammed. Still can't be certain I'm not but it seems like other people are having similar problems.

0.005 BTC is reserved for FEE only. I never had a problem since.
