Free Open-Source E-Mail Encryption Service

Hello all, was doing some early morning browsing, and ran across an article about Tutanota e-mail service. Seeing as how having backup anonymous encrypted email service is becoming popular in the wake of compromised markets I thought posting it here would be fitting. The user interface is basic, but elegant. I find the layout to be easily navigable, and the auto e-mail you first get has link to their source code for any who may find that useful in checking the integrity of the security. I've also noticed users preferring clear net service provider(??) which this is. As far as anonymous encrypted e-mail services go, I'm highly pleased with this one.

EDIT: They have an app...(only suggested for personal email lol)

EDIT2:After further review, this client is awesome. Must have agreed upon passphrase between both recipients to access your sent message. Ex. where this could be useful, say your a vendor in the far future looking for a new spot cause the old one was just compromised. Say you had an account set up beforehand. You could encrypt a universal or not passphrase using PGP and then send it to your most trusted/profitable clients. Assuming they do their job and save the passphrase somewhere, in the event of market shutdown you now have a safe reliable means of re-communicating. On top of that you could encrypt the message on the e-mail client using PGP adding two layers of security. On their site, they claim to be adding seamless support for PGP and S/MIME in the near future.

I just started using SIGAINT (which is fucking awesome btw). Their FAQ on the use of encryption seems to describe it best...

Can I use PGP with your service?

Yes, but you must do all of your signing and encrypting locally on your own computer and paste the ciphertext into the compose/reply box. (There are some browser plugins that may assist with this.) We do not want you to trust us with your keys. The system is designed this way on purpose.

Take the extra 20 seconds to use your own keys. Don't trust a external service to do encryption for you. There's no way for it to be compromised then.

I guess you can double it up and use your own keys on top of it like you said. I'd be wary about the integrated "seamless" support for PGP they are promising in the future.

Here is a promising list of ESP's that have privacy in mind. Not all are free...but worth looking into.

I'm a fan of Protonmail, RiseUp and Lelantos (Tor-Pay).

Check my link below. It has the details, costs and ratings detailing the current privacy concious email service providers. It is current through January 19th and is maintained by two redditors in r/privacy. Bookmark it for sure!
