I got circle-jerked

Much to my surprise, I got my Circle account shutdown after I tried to purchase a whopping 0.1 btc which was supposed to be "instant" and just sat in a pending state until the next day when it was cancelled by Circle and got this love letter from them the following day. http://i.imgur.com/s8bewO8.png

I've been using Circle for quite a while only purchased relatively small amounts ( < 1 btc ) and only every 1 or 2 weeks and never sent it directly to a DNM. I always used 1 or 2 intermediate wallets, but it was to no avail. I did not use a tumbler, but I'm not even sure that would have made a difference. Ironically, on the same day, Coinbase upped my instant purchase limit :-)

Worse than a bunch of fucking nosey neighbors. Fuck circle, fuck coinbase. LibertyX all day. You can stay anonymous and they don't give a damn where you send YOUR coin. It's as easy as buying a pack of bubble gum at a gas station.

Same here, got screwed over by Circle but Coinbase has been no problems at all. Other people, it's just the opposite. Seems to be the luck of the draw, mostly, but I always tumble now. Don't want to lose that precious CB account, because once Circle kicks you, you've given them a shit-ton of your personal info and there's no way you can try again with them. (Does anyone know what the fuck happened to Celery, by the way? One day it was there and great, the next day... poof, it's an EIC-style ghost ship shell of an operation.)

Did they just shut it down or does support ask you questions first?

What do you think tipped them off?

You might find this thread about how Circle et. al. can read the blockchain to flag you of interest. I now follow /u/IHeartTheDN's advice about using JoinMarket to tumble myself.

To avoid coinbase or circle closing your account, I suppose you could just do this:

Coinbase > electrum wallet in tor > gambling site > electrum wallet in tor > DNM

You don't have to pay tumbling fees that way either.

Coinbase deactivated me, but not Cirlde!! At least not now, maybe I should start using a tumnler. I buy personal amounts, what about you?

[1 Points] CocaineNose:

yup, Circle may have fucked me. I sent an email to confirm, but I can't add funds. When I click on somewhere else it think it legitimately says my account has been canceled.

When you're just sitting here thinking about all the coins that you sent directly to the market from Circle.........well I still have an account!

/u/phearlez & /u/TheGateKeepah here's some more "citation" for yas in case you still don't think this happens... =p
