Put your tinfoil hats on, fellas.

I've been thinking, especially with everything that has happened as of late. When I first returned using this account, it was in the month of March. I notice little details about subreddits, such as subscriber count, and number of active usage throughout different periods of the days.

When I first started posting in March, the number of online active users were on average about 240. The activity coincided with this figure-- the upvotes, number of comments and so on.

I then began to notice as time went on that the number of people active on this subreddit was increasingly high. I'm sure I mentioned in passing in a comment or two. The daily online users had jumped from ~240 users at any given time to an upwards of ~650-750.

I made note of this and thought it to be very strange. Sometimes, when the number of users was astronomically high, I would double back and see if this subreddit was linked anywhere else on Reddit or the web that would explain the traffic.

I was never successful.

Mods, could you post one the following:

Just for my own curiosity, it was always in the back of my head.

EDIT: made this post without even looking at the number of online users here now. Case in point.

EDIT 2: 867 users here now? Since I last looked ten minutes ago(~735), it's risen by 132. What the fuck.

EDIT 3: 917 now. 917.

My theory is that there's probably ‘round-about ≈ 275 real people here.

It's just that "one" of those people happens to be a bipolar kid, living in mom's basement; and coming off the tail-end of a 5 week run of sustained IV methamphetamine hcl abuse + consequent sleep deprivation; and who's now stuck in some sort of OCD, activity "loop", comprised of creating endless new Reddit accounts and replying to himself across various threads.
