Tracking shows my pack stuck at a mail sorting hub. No movement since 7/8. What next?

EDIT: AND JUST LIKE THAT, THE PACK SHOWS UP THIS MORNING. The USPS works in mysterious ways, my friends. The tracking updated this morning to show it out for delivery, and I was like, okay, I'll believe it when I see it. But yes, the eagle has landed. Thanks for all the friendly replies. /u/theeconomist1 - /u/Derekd88 - /u/shawneealice - /u/prison_sex

Okay, so I have a pack en route to me that showed up on myusps.com. We can save the discussion of whether or not using myusps.com is a good idea or not for later, but here's the situation.

July 7th: Package was dropped off on July 7th at a local (to the vendor) PO.

July 7th: Package departed the local PO for another PO fairly close by, but I assume this is a larger PO that sorts packages for further transit.

July 8th: Package arrived at that larger PO where it was accepted.

Nothing since then. The estimated arrival date shown on myusps is this past Friday, which has obviously come and gone. The pack being sent is less than 10g of powder, so nothing that coiuldn't be disguised in a small to medium sized envelope. We're not talking a QP of weed. Also, I've used this vendor before, and they've always used a decoy, vac seal, MMB, and everything else you'd want from domestic stealth.

One interesting thing to note is that the package was sent as First Class Mail with Tracking, and not Priority, so there isn't necessarily the expectation of 2-3 day arrival. It's just weird that a) the expected arrival date has come and gone and not been updated, and b) it's been sitting there since Wednesday with no further movement.

I don't think my address is flagged, as I've received 3 darknet packages since the 8th, including one today. If I was on the radar of LE, you'd think that they wouldn't have let those other packs arrive over the past few days. It's almost as though the pack just fell off the conveyor belt, and is probably sitting on the floor of the sorting facility waiting for some lazy PO worker to put it back into the mailstream.

What should I do? I'm tempted to call USPS and inquire about the package, but if they've discovered the contents of the pack, that would be a pretty bad idea. I can just wait it out a few more days, and see if it updates.

Also, the vendor told me they were sending it priority, which apparently was a lie, since the tracking clearly says First Class Mail with Tracking.

Thoughts? Anyone had this happen to them before? Fortunately, my coins are still in escrow, so I do have some leverage with the vendor. Advice and anecdotal experiences are appreciated.

Anyone remember the username of that PO employee that came on here and did an AMA about 6 months ago?? He'd probably be able to offer some insight.

Yes, I've had this happen to me a couple of months ago - or something similar. Pack is dropped off, all is normal for the first day or two. Similar to yours, went to one PO then to another close by. Then dropped off the radar completely - no updates - for about 8-9 days. Nothing. Of course I'm thinking something is up. Then suddenly on the 9th day or so, it appears in the wrong state (a state that it would not pass through if shipped properly). Then from there, it took 2 days and hit my door. I was tempted to call the PO that it appeared in b/c I knew at that point the pack got misrouted, but they delivered it without issue.

The only thing I could think is that it got thrown in the wrong place and got stuck somewhere I guess. It was odd. The fact that it stopped tracking completely combined w/ going to the wrong state is odd but I guess it happens. It would have made more sense if it turned up at the same PO it stopped tracking at b/c then you figure it got caught in a belt or fell off somewhere. Pack looked fine upon arrival, didn't look worse for wear or anything.

I've also had this happen w/ legit packs as well where it does nothing for close to 2 weeks then suddenly shows up.

Hello current usps employee and i work exclusively with small parcels weighing anything less than 25 lbs. the reason it happened like that was all parcels that are priority, first class, and standard get sorted together. Since your package was first class it was more than likely was sorted at your local processing and distribution facility then sent to a network distribution center. All network distribution centers handle first class parcels. Then once it was processed there it was sent back to the local processing and distribution facility to be taken to the delivery address. Usps has outdated scanning technology so your tracking can be off or someone could have said fuck it and not scanned anythong at all. Hopefully this answers your question

Edit: i have no grammar skills

This has happened to me plenty of times with clear net packages. They just dont always do a good job updating tracking. I think you should be okay.
