Cryptocat a good Jabber alternative?

Hello,

Any thoughts about Cryptocat?

Some Features

Cryptocat is free software with a simple mission: everyone should be able to chat with their friends in privacy.

Open source. All Cryptocat software is published transparently.

Encrypted by default. Every message is encrypted, always.

Forward secure. Chats are safe even if your keys are stolen.

Multiple devices. Devices receive messages even when offline.

File sharing. Securely share files with friends.

Looks like a good alternative to Jabber or other Chat Services.

No. Unless you are reading the JS every time you visit the site.

Use XMPP (Jabber) over Tor with OTR. Or Bitmessage. Or PGP with a throwaway e-mail that you only access over Tor.

But don't type cleartext into a website.

CryptoCat, used it, but no-one else had it, so was pointless. Personally I use XMPP Jabber with OTR.

Most jabber clients also have an option to proxy the connection, so you can always run your client through tor with otr for the most security

What is it with people pumping third-party communication services today? LE, is that you? Ignore all of this shit folks...PGP FTW.
