Friend got a visit from police a month ago. Case got closed, but I've got some questions.

A small package of LSD got caught in customs, and months later police were at his door. They looked through his phone, they said they were going to check Skype, Facebook and SMS. They took his phone and he never saw what they found, but they didn't say anything. I had sent some messages that clearly incriminates both of us and maybe even some friends, too. Both on Facebook and Skype. Yes, stupid. We didn't give it much thought since it had gone many months since we ordered and it never came. Won't happen again, but what's done is done.

They searched the house and looked through his bank records. Nothing was found in the house, and he said it looked like they believed he was innocent. Needless to say, he told them he didn't know anything about a package and that he's never done drugs and he knows they're very dangerous. His bank account had been used to buy BTC, but it was a transaction to a well-known BTC vendors bank account, not a payment to a BTC site. I guess none of that matters as they either didn't figure it out or just didn't care so they closed the case.

If they read my messages with him on social media, which he said is very likely, then there is no question about whether or not they think I do drugs. Probably not enough to go to court, but certainly enough for a visit or notification of some kind? I'm not a dealer, and I'd be very surprised if they think I am.

I haven't gotten a visit, or anything at all. The case was closed just recently. Am I safe or do I still have to assume that police could be at my doorstep any day?

Very, very bad OPSEC!!!! First of all, unless the LE has a court order, do not ever give them your phone. Always keep the phoned locked & encrypted. Never talk on any social media about any illegal action. Did they have a search warrant???? Always use end-to-end encryption, no matter the conversation, illegal or not!!!! LE are not your friend, they are trained to lie to you in order to get you to out yourself in a crime. Never talk to LE, shut up & tell them you want your attorney.

If the case is closed, then you are good. You & your buddy need to install encrypted message programs on your phones. Better yet, maybe, just maybe "Just Say No", buying drugs online may not be for you guys, you are both lucky they did not find anything & serving long prison terms!!! But if you do feel the need to buy off the markets, order domestic, over a 99% chance of landing :-)

"I'm not a dealer, and I'd be very surprised if they think I am." You're probably cool. You may be in a file somewhere though. Small fish.

LSD caught in customs? Roughly how much was ordered? What country are you in?

Your friend is setting you up.

Sounds like the already know everything you guys did. They got the package from customs, the know who you are, they got the phone from your friend, and they probably checked your social media. Thing is, they probably think you are too small fish as someone already said, just an occasional buyer. If the case is closed you should be ok. What I don't know is if they are now on alert because o this. Use encryption and do things right from now on man!

It's amazing and disappointing how casual people are (especially young people) about buying drugs online, and being so blase about having it sent to their family's home. Can you imagine if your friend had a sibling or a parent who smoked weed and would keep an oz+ in their closet?
