Important: Order your drugs before September!

Some may remember the blockchain stress test performed by CoinWallet earlier this summer. For those who are unaware, the company launched what is essentially a DDoS attack on blockchain which froze up bitcoin transactions for a few days.

CoinWallet has recently announced another set of blockchain stress tests coming in September, which could reportedly backlog the blockchain for as long as 30 days.

With all of the recent drama in the Bitcoin community regarding the BitcoinMX controversey, and a possible stress test looming in early September, it would be wise to stock up on your September supply while you still can!

And of course my birthday is in September... Who are these assholes anyways and why do they keep stress testing?

Someone should take a baseball bat to CoinWallet's owner's head. This guy is beginning to piss me off a bit.

From the article:

"I should however note that CoinWallet.eu is relatively immune to this form of 'attack' as our fees are dynamic and are set at 3x the standard limit. As always, CoinWallet clients will be unaffected by the test. More details will be posted publicly when the test is imminent."

So in other words, this is a marketing ploy, as well as an anti-competitive business practice. Rather than this magical "fork" they want, maybe the bitcoin developers should focus on making it so that people can't do this. Because if it works, guarantee 100% it will start a "Red Queen Race" scenario between all bitcoin sellers, with the net consequence of ever-rising transaction fees, thus lowering the PPP (purchasing power parity) of the currency, with the net net effect of course being inflation in the currency. Not that we haven't seen this in economics, oh, say a thousand times before.

Oh, and it looks like BTC price is plummeting today. I'm sure that's just a coincidence. /s

I'm sure there are any number of solutions that could be implemented for this. Building in a fee-cap would be one such solution. Yeah yeah, free market, Adam Smith, blah blah. Historically, every fully free markethas eventually required some sort of regulation mechanism to prevent monopolies.
