I am never at home when the mailman comes, would it be a bad idea to order the package to the post office, and accept it there?

He always comes at around 10 and I am never home at that time, so I guess he would just leave a note to me to pick it up at the office, but im still a bit paranoid about ordering to the post office.Taking a day off is not viable, bc the whole post network is so unorganised at hungary that even if the package gets in the country in 2 days it might take 3-4 days to arrive where i live. Also if I do this i have to order to my real name bc I cant pick it up othervise.

That's about the same as "ordering to the post office".

My advice is to go into your local post office, ask for a peach slip (sorry we missed you slip) and sign it and tape it in your mailbox. That way when they have a package at your door, they will scan the tracking, scan the peach slip tapped in your mailbox and leave package.

Could be sketchy with controlled deliveries but I think if it were a controlled they would want a legit signature..

Ex postal employees two cents

Do they not just leave it at your door?

I've gone on the USPS website and did the "Package Intercept" service when I lived at a place where packages weren't delivered on Saturdays and there was no trouble other than a fee you have to pay. All you need is the tracking number which showed up on my informed delivery.
