Help Me Not Be Stupid Please?

Sorry in advance if I'm being a massive dick and I'm asking this in the wrong place but it seemed right to post this here.

So I've betting looking at AlphaBay on and off for the past few months but between bitcoins and wallets and vendor ratings, everything is a lot to process. As dorky as this may sound, is there a guide somewhere, or could I get some pro-tips from people who know what the fuck they're doing. I'm just looking to get some stuff for a music festival and my stoned ass has been dicking around not ordering anything for months because I don't feel 100% confident I understand the process. As far as I have figured I download Circle (the app), convert my money to bitcoins, send it to an Electrum e-wallet thingy I downloaded, and then send it to me AlphaBay e-wallet, then start shopping? Is that even remotely correct? Is there anything I should do to be safer going about this?

edit: again, sorry if this was the completely wrong place. this seemed like my best bet, i really don't want to piss anyone off because hopefully I'll be back to this subreddit again

Doing your research before placing an order is what most other noobs should do. Good on you!

Buy BTCs, I use Coinbase, after that tumble them if you want to play really safe, and move them to an electrum wallet. After that move the BTCs to the marketplace wallet and buy. This is what I do, at least, but I usually skip the tumbling part.

use localbitcoins.com to buy coins. you buy directly from a private seller, not a company. there are many many ways to pay, from itunes cards to western union to bank transfer. no limit, no linking bank accounts, funds are held in escrow by the site until both parties mark the transaction complete. you end up paying a bit more for the coins, but its worth it not to have to tie your bank acct to coinbase or circle.

i use multibit wallet. it supports multiple cryptocurrencies and its secure. i dont know where the 'you can only use electrum' thing comes from but there are a lot better wallets out there.

also you need to learn how to use pgp encryption.

Go through the whole process and order something legal off the market like a scale to get your confidence up and learn pgp as well. That way your illegal order will go perfect

Pretty much, except one important thing I would do is send the money to a tumbler before a market

Use a tumbler if you get your coins from Circle or CoinBase. They will ban your account for sending coins to markets. Tumblers like Helix Lite only cost like 3% of BTC.
