Why does everyone recommend staying away from SR3.0?

I haven't used it because so many people on reddit seem to think its a bad idea. Is it just because it has high visibility as the other two silk roads have gone down hard and are constantly getting press? Or is it for other reasons? I don't plan on using it, I'm just curious.

If Titanic 2 was built and that also sank in a similar way, I'd think twice before hopping on the Titanic 3 that treads the same waters.

Silkroad name is a massive target for LEO and most likely the admins are cashing in on the name which is weak.

It's pretty much exactly as you say. And anyone willing to cash in on the Silk Road "brand" at this point is not someone I would want to place even the slightest amount of trust in. Opportunistic or idealistic; I don't care.

There are many more good reasons to abandon the name altogether than to keep it, and I can't imagine that a worthy market admin wouldn't see that immediately.

The same reason they recommended staying away from SR2.0.

Because the mod who runs it sounds like an autistic 17 year old kid who needs attention. He comes over to this market and shills every week about SRR is the best market out there.

In Reality anything with Silk Road in the name is #1 for LE

It's because we use the Silk Road name, that's it. We've been called a scam market with no evidence, yet people still buy into the FUD because they want to believe it. We had an old vendor, Funhouse, who scammed over 10,000 dollars from our users, when we banned the vendor and refunded the bitcoins, they told us he'd make sure he'd ruin our market because we weren't letting him scam. So what did he do? He came here, made a topic, and it got 80+ upvotes. All based off pure lies, which ruined our market's name. People like to pretend that LEO targets Silk Road, but they target it as much as any other market. Silk Road 1's IP was leaked onto Reddit, which was taken off shortly after, but it was too late. I don't know exactly know how LE found SR2's server. Also, both admins made mistakes like email in the code and signing into the server on their true IP.

The admin sounds like a loose cannon and the fact that he co-opted the SR name screams sleazy opportunist. I much prefer Agora's style of handling their business.

Other than that, I have no reason to dissuade people from using it. What's their situation like anyways? How many vendors are there?

[3 Points] None:

CAUSE ITS NOT RELATED TO SR1 OR SR2, so everyone elses arguments here are unrelated. The marketplace is fine and all, but the owner chose a copy righted name, and he's also well known for spamming the fuck out of this sub, and in general being an annoying shill for his own website. You can use it if you want, but you're supporting an asshole if you do, that being said I think he has a point about i2p

[2 Points] theevoinsider:

Because r/darknetmarkets users care about your bank balance

[1 Points] darknetpotter:

From what I've seen it's pretty much just because of the silk road name. That, and the fact that no-one can be bothered to figure out i2p, and it's not worth it for a market with few vendors anyway. That said though, from looking into i2p so far it actually does seem like a better alternative to Tor

[1 Points] None:

Because they named themselves from a former market that was busted and popular to make it look like SR came back...

[1 Points] blackhand25:

There's a Silk Road 3.0?

[1 Points] auto587643:

SR3 is a lame cash-in on the SR name and it shows. Also, there have been reports of people being scammed there by asshole vendors and disappearing funds. The admin is a complete joke too.
