State of the markets from someone who has been here since the very start. TL;DR THEY ALL FUCKING SUCK.

Seemed like only last year I was ordering drugs off silkroad, and giant shards of rocket fuel were in my mail box in no less than 3 days.

Now, everyplace is sketchy. Silkroad 2.0 is sketchy, Agora is sketchy, blue, Pandora, and all the other sites trying to make a quick buck by falsely promising all kinds of fail safes and guarantees for escrowed orders.

I don't give a fuck what anyone says about Ross Ulbricht, dude knew how to run a black market and make good times...

Now it seems like the only people who know how to code are faggots who love drama and stealing.

Silkroad 1 felt like a free market. I suppose because it was. Silkroad 2.0 feels like a marketplace where the chosen ones get to sale, and only the chosen ones. Pandora makes me LOL at their $1000 bond. Its so fucking stupid. Honestly, what it feels like is going on, is that silkroad 2.0 has a handful of "A" team vendors; if the market plans to scam everyone, these guys would know before hand. The "A" team vendors are running two accounts. One account that is 100% legitimate, and another that was set up to scam. Once account #2 runs it's course, BAM, new account open, mods paid, business as usual. Seriously, it's so fucking obvious whats going on, it's stupid.

I'm not going to call out any vendors, but I ordered from a "100% legitimate" vendor, and another vendor who later up and scammed everyone -- turns out they both came from the exact same zip code.

So now, that the "A" team is running a tread mill of scam accounts, it gives support excuses to "keep registration closed."

Did I mention "A" team all have shitty drugs? Fuck you "A" team.

Only market I might trust is TMP, but it has no fucking vendors because everyone is too lazy to learn I2P. The user interference is retarded. The sites owners are robots that can't communicate the fact that no one want's to do all that bitcoind console typing bullshit, oh, and your plugin won't work...What? Yes I have Tri..Fuck it, I didn't want to order anyways. Seriously TMP, figure it out. It's fucking stupid like it is. It's a great site with a genius idea, but you dropped the ball, picked it back up, and ran the wrong direction with it. I shouldn't have to change the god damn variables in my PATH to figure out how to MAYBE get a refund.

Can one of you people on the inside how long silkroad 2.0 plans to run this little game for? Lets get back to business mother fuckers.

I respectfully disagree. I have had 4 perfect orders fulfilled through The Marketplace. It was just as easy as any of the other markets, especially if you are using Tails (which you should be if you aren't). I love not having to keep any BTC in a site wallet. The multisig escrow is super simple once you figure it out. You mentioned the console commands and plugins, but those are only necessary for vendors. If you are just buying use brainwallet.org, and there is no need for anything else. We all miss the simplicity of the SR 1.0 days, but I welcome the new levels of security. The only thing missing for TMP is the vendors, so come on over guys!

I have to say I've been thinking this for ages and whenever I bring it up I get "No man you're just doing it wrong" and fuck loads of downvotes.

The entire market is messed up right now, everyone is a scammer and people have the balls to send out NBOMe's as LSD...the entire thing is ridiculous and despite people saying otherwise law enforcement really struck a HUGE blow when they took down SR1.

It's a crippled situation and not looking to recover any time soon, there needs to be one serious market to come along...we need another DPR and if that includes another few assassination contracts then so be it,drugs are scummy and unless you rule your market with an iron fist it's going to become a scam based shitstorm

Just wait til BMR is back up. That's what I'm doing.

Well now apparently the withdrawal option is missing from the account page. Smells fishy.

Yeah The Marketplace if you're going to go with anyone, had great deals and you know your money is safe.

SR2 would be the top if my deposit would show up !

Thank you for the synopsis /u/YourMomsBigDick .

I was using SR for so long, that when I started, bitcoins were 5$ per coin.

Ever since everything went down in November, I just kinda burried my head.

I just subscribed to this subreddit today to try and learn about the replacements/alternatives out there. I could always use more doses.

Your post doesn't give me much hope for these second gen markets. My only question: Are any of them worth using, or am I better off waiting a few more months?

We had Eden, /u/YourMomsBigDick , we just didn't know it.

Ok you know what, I give in. Someone teach me i2p. And before you say "google it" I did and I'm still kinda lost. I mean, I just learned PGP and I've been googling it for like 3 months. Everybody skips steps and I get lost and assume I'll be scammed if I ask people because then they'll know I'm such a n00b.

Someone plx walk me through it or gimme a good link that does.

Edit: Ok looks like it wasn't that complicated. I think I was confused more by tails, not i2p. Working with just i2p now, I'll try and figure out tails later. And to all you haters, I'm sooooo sorry i2p and pgp were confusing to me. Like I said, I just wanted to make sure I knew how to do everything before I revealed myself as a newb to vendors. Yeesh.

OP you know you can use TMP through Tor right?.....

Been a steady consumer since August. It's just rough to be worried all the time. What I see a lot of is either you made a purchase at the right time before any craziness happens. Or you sent in funds at the wrong time and you loose it. Or you get scammed. I've been lucky and haven't dealt with anyone who was out to steal from me. But I've seen it happen. I've lost funds to sheep. It's not fun and the stress is not for the weak willed.

long live the good vendors

[2 Points] TimeAndTheRani:

I've been using Blue Sky for a bit with no problem. I guess it depends on the vendor. Also, I don't leave BTC on the site. But I am a very small fish in this pond, so whatever.

I tried to learn i2p. I am not lazy. I have read several how-to's and I must be an idiot (clarification: I am in NO way an idiot) because somehow it just doesn't work even when I follow the directions step-by-step.

[1 Points] blueskykin:

As you may gather from my name, I'm a blue sky kin. What's so bad about Blue Sky though, guys? I mean they even refunded their vendor fees to me when NorCalConnection took my btc and now they have all but forbidden FE. Maybe not vendors' best option, but as a buyer what's the downside to BSM for me?

[1 Points] phattsao:

Pandora is the only one that's been legit for me so far. Scammed on SR 2, and fuck the stupid I2P think.

[1 Points] BTVA:

Yes, they ALL suck. You wouldn't put up with those standards in a "real" market hall.

The problem with SR2.0 isn't that the "chosen ones get to sell". Its because ANYONE gets to sell.

Vendor registrations are too cheap, and there are no support staff. Scammers can vend for months on end.

Ross used to kick vendors off at the drop of a hat, which is what we need.

We've asked Agora to increase its vendor signup fees for new vendors. Any stoner with one pot plant can afford it.

Upvoted because I love the way this is written. And I love that last line.
