The fact that someone didn't flat out murder Karpeles after stealing, sorry "losing" 800k bitcoins presently valued at 220+ million dollars says a lot about how nonviolent the bitcoin and darknet market communities are. Everyone likes act like they're hot shit here, but the truth is we're all a bunch of pussies.

If he tried pulling this with El Chapo or the cartels, they'd cut his nuts off and feeding them to his dogs. Blatantly steal from computer nerds though (like we've seen time and time again with vendor and admin exit scams) and they'll bitch and moan for a couple days... and then proceed to do the exact same thing lol.

This is Mark the Lawn Mower Man Karpeles we are talking about...He once let it slip in a major interview that his computer genius is so technologically advanced that he actually see's and thinks in numbers. He is like the Neo Character and Agent Smith from the Matrix all rolled into one, who has a mirror of the Blockchain running in the back of his mind and controlled Ross as an MK Ultra type mind slave to help drive up the price of Bitcoin. Indeed Karpleles fooled the world into thinking he was an elaborate coffee drinking derpus while funneling %7 of the worlds BTC into secret accounts so he could run away to an island paradise with his love and soon to be sex slave Ross...which he purchased from the Greeks with BTC and planed to have renovated to resemble a skull shape...

And he would have done it to if it wasn't for that Damn Mark Force and those pesky kids!

So now the evil Dr Karpeles has decided to GOX himself with the help of his loyal staff in the hopes to rendezvous with Ross in Federal prison and make an escape and/or engage in a love triangle with a hot looking gang member.

This nigga is so deep in the illuminati we don't even know.

Josh Dratel said this is the guy who Ross took the fall for. Maybe this arrest(and these charges) could lead to something that discredits the case against Ross.

Too bad, I was hoping somebody will murder him.

[1 Points] Vendor_BBMC:

I think the actual number of bitcoins stolen was 1.2 million, of which he "found" 200,000 in an "old wallet". Its that old wallet which probably is going to land him in prison.

I've been dying to tell you about this, but I had to keep schtumm while the legal team who represent the MTGOX victims digested some information that Sheeproadreloaded2 (the guy who chased the sheep money through bitcoinfog's tumbler) sent to them.

I paid sheeproadreloaded2 to follow the stolen SR2 escrow on Feb 13th last year. That was straightforward, but SRR2 kept stumbling upon wallets containing 10,000 btc from a week before - Feb 6th - the day MTGOX closed to withdrawals.

120 of them. 1.2million btc

Here is deepdotweb's story from Feb 2014,

Home » Articles » Here is the Stolen Silk Road Wallet?

https://www.deepdotweb.com/2014/02/20/here-is-the-stolen-silk-road-wallet/

That explains most of what we did, except we assumed it was more Stolen SR2.0 funds. That's why SRR2 wrote V E N D O R B B M C using his "1Ah" wallet using bitcoin micropayments (where 0.00001 is A, 0.00002 is B, 0.00026 is Z etc) because we thought we were talking to that twat Defcon. If he gave me my 2.7 btc back I was going to leave him alone.

I gradually realized that the bitcoin was stashed a week too early, and was far too big to be the SR2 escrow. It was MTGOX stolen funds, so having VENDORBBMC spelled out in the wallet linking them all embarrassed me. It will be there, permanently written on the blockchain until 2140. I mistook MTGOX money for more SR2.0 money, and my mistake will be written there until 2140, confusing documentary makers and researchers for the next 125 years.

But at least you and I know why a British meth vendor has his name written in the key MTGOX wallet, right? I'm the Forrest Gump of the darknet. "Stupid is as stupid does"

SheepRoadreloaded2 contacted the legal team representing the MTGOX victims, because we realized that IF the 200,000 btc that Karpeles "found" was in a wallet at the end of one of those "777" payments, it was enough evidence to extradite him.

Unfortunately, MK didn't give the address of this "old format bitcoin wallet", so the team was concentrating on forcing him to disclose the wallet address the last time they spoke.

I'm going now, before you all attack me, the BTVA, sheeproadreloaded2, or any British vendors again because we did something.

That's my understanding of what happened. You may think I'm making this shit up because you don't understand it, it's a lot to take in at once and I've had 17 months to figure all this out and try to get the info to the right people. But the blockchain doesn't lie.

SheepRoadReloaded2 asked for a chocolate cake as his reward from the victims legal team, if we managed to get those 1.2 million bitcoin back to their rightful owners. lots of them were laundered through a mining pool called "deepbit", then Karpeles realized we were onto him and began dumping them on bitstamp using his trading bots (that's why bitcoin's price crashed last year).

I think Sheeproadreloaded2 finally deserves a bit of fucking recognition, because everyone took the piss because he followed sheepmarketplace's 96,000 btc to an exchange, "666"ing his wallets for 3 days and nights without sleep (I was partially responsible for that. cough). "What an idiot. The bitcoin is in BTCe now. He got away with it"

He's in prison now, because the local police worked back from that exchange.

[1 Points] rogueXleader:

Well, he's sort of rotund, slovenly looking fellow isn't he? Can't imagine someone like him sitting in front of a computer all day

[1 Points] hdheuud:

I let out an audible "woo" when I read this title, and now people are looking at me

[1 Points] Nick-Rivers:

Lost a cool $1000 over there to hackers, or more likely him, while trying to play the volatility of the markets. I actually filed a police report when the money was stolen. When this a-hole is finally convicted, I may just have a claim to get that money back :)

[1 Points] None:

I'd love to know if Karpeles ever had bots working through the Betfair API.
