USPS delivers to my door?

I just moved to a new apartment complex where my mailbox is a short drive away. I ordered a priority 2-day item off Amazon to "break" in my new address, and i was surprised to wake up to the mailman leaving it at my doorstep this morning.

I'm kind of concerned about mail arriving on my doorstep in the future because im not home until 8pm most days, so that means my pack is just chilling there in the open. either that or i have to rely on my roommate to grab it when (and if) he hears the USPS man knock on the door.

anybody else get this? is it just a sunday delivery thing maybe?

Do you have a mailbox bigger than the package? If not, he probably thinks he's being kind by leaving it on your stoop rather than give you a pink slip to go to the post office.

my situation's kinda the same as yours. everything always went straight to the mailbox....except one single darknet package, one single time went straight to the doorstep. never figured out why.

best guess is it was either a misdelivery, and someone brought it by, or that it was a different mailman who didnt have the key to my box.

anyway, you sure it was actually USPS? I don't know that I've ever had USPS courtesy knock when no signature's required, thats a FedEx/UPS thing

aside from that, I'd assume that since it's Sunday, probably not the normal mailman, so he didn't have the keys to your box. he probably doesn't even know your offsite mailbox exists.

Sign up on the USPS website for My USPS, it's free. You can then leave delivery directions for each package you have coming. It will also display deliveries that have tracking coming to you on the dashboard. It allows you to type up a message of what you want done with the package.

Sunday delivery?

Probably didn't fit in the mailbox.

This is not abnormal. USPS will deliver to my mailbox or door all the time. If they can't deliver it to my mailbox or door, usually because it's too large, they'll leave a post card sized notification in my mailbox asking me to come pick it up at the post office.

It's the Sunday delivery. Also in an apartment. During the week boxes are left in the mailbox or parcel locker..doorstep of its huge. But any Amazon Sunday arrivals always get brought to the door.
