Why don't any DNMs use Tether?

Tether is a crypto currency that's made to emulate the value of the dollar perfectly. You don't have to worry about the rate drastically changing by the time it enters your DNM wallet. Seems like the perfect crypto to use for strictly buying purposes no?

Because tether is a pyramid scheme waiting to collapse. You think a company that said their bank blocked transfers is depositing $1 for every coin?

'Buying' isn't a standalone thing. It takes two to tango. As a vendor, here's why I don't accept any-ole-cryptocurrency just because a couple of people have a fancy for it:

  1. I've never heard about it until now.
  2. Chances are it doesn't have the liquidity or plethora of cashing-out possibilities compared to BTC. Which also helps us 'blend into the crowd'.
  3. I don't care about a cryptocurrency being pegged to the dollar. In fact, that could actually be a bad thing.
  4. Which 'dollar'? United States citizens aren't the only people doing business on DNMs.
  5. In all likelihood, the security of that pales in comparison to the more known ones...simply because the 'known' ones have had a ton of expert eyeballs looking at/working on improving them.

Summary: Security and ease of cash-out are what I care most about. I bend over backwards for my customers in every way I can. The only trade-off I require is using what I accept--and that's not negotiable. And for the time-being, it's BTC only.

It's sketchy as fuck. Plus you need a full identity check if you're dealing with tether.io directly. Just stick with real private stable decentralised coins.

Tether got blocked from the banking system and is going under check out buttcoin for news on it

Right, it's probably because it's lesser known. But if a market used it, I bet people would use it

Vendors don't accept it.

I read about this coin recently. From my understanding the only exchanges that support it are bitfinex and btc-e. Bitfinex recently announced they would quit verifying US citizens which means no more fiat exchanges for them. Btc-e well as you know one of the admins was arrested recently.
