XANAX ADDICTION

soooo uhhmm basically I wanted to know if anyone else has gotten addicted to Xanax through the darknetmarkets..? I originally bought like 50 then 75 then 50 again then randomly 500 bars for a very good deal and easily made my money back and some but haven't sold anywhere near the amount I should have.. now im more or less in a situation where I take 4-8mg of Xanax a day this has been every day for the last 3 months due to the easy nature of acquiring the drug I haven't really been able to stop buying it.. but uhh yeah just curious if anyone has some tips ive noticed that im more or less now a zombie with no cares in the world period I feel like no matter wat I HAVE to take Xanax every night otherwise I wont sleep ( like tonight even though I took 3 mg ) idk call this a rant or whatever you may like but also a fair warning to others considering experimenting with Xanax the withdrawl is fucking awful.. and the drug its self is to.. I had anxiety before but it seems like its only become worse due to my constant want to take Xanax.. not to mention drinking on top of it.. idk becareful guys feel free to chime in just wondering if Theres a good recommended way to get off this shit withdrawls literally make you wish you were dead..

WARNING - Do not just stop taking them abruptly. Benzos can cause seizures whilst withdrawing from them if you just suddenly cut them out. I think youve been taking them long enough for this to have become a possibility. You need to taper taper taper. Your best bet would be to get some valium as they have a much longer half-life and so so are much easier to taper with. For getting off benzos - valium is absolutely the way to go.

I'll give you my Darknet Xanax addiction story -

I started like you, first order was 50 1 mg's of Xanax. I had a little workplace stress, and I didn't like speaking at meetings. People were getting fired left and right as the company downsized and every-time I had to provide tech support for a rich executive felt like it might be my last. Having Xanax was like having a few glasses of beer, the problems fade and that false social confidence is there. You feel like you become the fun person in the party. Anyhow, I was completely ignorant to the dangers of benzo's and having done more or less every hard drug, I regarded them as kind of a "soft" drug. I didn't take the idea of addiction to it seriously, I thought that it was cry-babies that get addicted to it and seek help.

So fast forward 9 months. I've gone from binging on it to taking it daily. The binges at first were fun, but I'd notice that every time I came off I'd have a new group of friends at work that would look at me funny when I was back to normal. Or I'd find myself in a new situation entirely. Hell, I argued for, and got a $15,000 raise while on a binge of Xanax that I only marginally remember.

The first time I ran out after taking it daily for months was the eye opener. I was agitated, couldn't sleep, my penis literally tried retracting into my body and became so small it got tangled underneath my pubes. I had to fish it out like a seamstress. I didn't sleep for 3 days, was mentally confused, hallucinating that people were talking about me (I thought I could hear them through the vents). I had spit on the corners of my mouth that made it look like I was frothing at the mouth.

I get back on the stuff but had a few more events like this when shipping is delayed. I was ordering straight powder and by my calculation, assuming the powder wasn't cut I was doing 20+ mg's a day. I was taking Etizolam on top of that.

My attempt to kick was dropping down on dosage and taking a week off where I stopped entirely. But with no guidance I tapered too fast and ended up in the ICU, unable to speak, psychotic, and hallucinating until the Ativan drip came in. I believe I could have died if I didn't end up there.

I since discovered the Ashton manual, and have gone from 20+ mg's of Xanax to 1 mg a day of Valium. I'm much more clear-headed and less volatile. My family feels like they got me back, and frankly I feel like I lost a couple years just being in a stupor. Just don't take these things lightly, it's not worth it.

That Wikipedia page that lists the side effects of benzo withdrawal - I assumed I'd get one or two of those. In my experience with benzo's, you really get them all. Also, there's then Post Acute Withdrawal Syndrome, which lasts for 2 years for benzo users. That's why you should look up the Ashton manual and stick with it - it will help with getting you off and reduce the Post Acute Withdrawal that makes it hard for ex-users to stay off it.

TL,DR: I took them like candy, and they will kick your ass. The repercussions are real and happen fast.

Xanax withdrawal is terrible.

I have gone on and off (mostly on) heroin addiction for where it affected me heavily for 5-6 years and the withdrawals are pleasant compared to what xanax makes you feel like.

After 2 months on only 4-6mg alprazolam today it was hell.

Get out now.

Talk to anyone who has been addicted to benzos for a year, now talk to them in 10 years ask them if they ever got off. The answer will be no.

Even in minor temazepam withdrawal from taking around 90-150mg for a week or 2, then a week off, then another week or 2 kind of sucked. I couldn't even safely drive. I cant describe what it does to you but even at a low level of withdrawal it sucks.

Benzos are the only drug that ever made me consider going to the hospital for withdrawals. I felt like I was on the edge of a grandmal during xanax withdrawal and every hour was making the decision if i shoudl call 911 or not

Got dependent on Clonazepam through internet pharmacies back in the day before DNMs came around. I had anxiety before as well, and while tapering down, my anxiety was just uncontrollable. I'd be shaking and fidgety in class, barely any sleep, etc. I smoked weed heavily to help sleep and fight the anxiety.

[2 Points] tyldavies202:

My advice is Running excercing everyday for months and then use Running to cold turkey/reduce the xanax, work up (start slow) till you can run 3-5 miles a day involving some hills. Yes the benefits of running are too many to type. Yes its difficult and takes discipline but this is a secret weapon in the fight against withdrawal. After a good hard run your brain creates dopamine, serotonin, natural opiates, endorphins, bigger heart, better blood circulation. So stay devoted to running for 6 months then reduce/reudce quit. Dont overdo it go gradually. You get what you give in life.

Listen to what /u/Jammy_J. Slowly taper. You can probably find an appropriate dosage plan for weaning yourself off if you google a little bit.

Good luck getting off it. You said you had anxiety before ever taking Xanax, so if your natural anxiety because a weak spot for you after you are clean, consider going to a doctor about it. They can prescribe you something (tell them you don't want benzos) like Effexor or Celexa which will help treat your anxiety long term and are a lot easier to quit.

Thanks for posting this warning for others. Reading warnings on this subreddit about Xanax has made me resolute in never letting myself become dependent on the stuff. I have a prescription for it and I only take it when I really, really need it, but this stuff would have been right up the alley of a younger, dumber me. I don't think Xanax is nearly fun enough to justify the addiction (but is anything?), but it's obviously more tempting for those of us with bad anxiety. Thankfully, there are other ways of treating anxiety.

[1 Points] benzojunkie:

Benzo's are easy to get addicted to, Xanax especially as its so short acting so you compulsively re-dose. Best advice i can give is switch to Diazepam and taper off very slowly. Dont stop too quickly or you can get 'Protracted withdrawal syndrome' which i had and was sick for 18 months. Anyway - At least you admit you have a problem, Now do something about it.

[1 Points] None:

I can confirm that a 'cold-turkey' approach to stop the consumption of xanax is NOT smart at all. I suffered from a seizure from a xanax withdrawal. I was taking anywhere from 8mg-20mg a day and stopped cold turkey as a bet to my friends that I wasn't addicted and BAM. Gran mal seizure no driving for a lot of months. (opsec)

[1 Points] OpiLuvr:

Like others have said, try and switch to a benzo with a longer half life and look up the Ashton manual.

Normally with a long term addict, it is recommended you don't reduce more than 10% every week or two. As you have only been addicted for a few months, you may be able to reduce quicker.

Google is your friend. There are also a few drug forums that will offer advice and continued support, with tips for comfort meds that will help.

Good Luck. Just be grateful you have caught this early, rather than years later.

[1 Points] None:

+1 for valium tapering off, the pills being 10mg you can easily split them apart to gradually reduce your usage.

P.S: Stay off alcohol, mixing them together is dangerous you're combining CNS depressants, you could have respiratory arrest from it. And it also interferes with your GABA receptors like benzo, not a good idea when you're trying to quit.

[1 Points] PurpleBeamz:

Try smoking bud, not sure how much it would help but if you have trouble sleeping a night a fat dab could take care of that issue, good luck!

[1 Points] young_k:

My psych told me to kick em them by decreasing 25% every 5-7 days...or gradually ever 2-3 days aggregately 25% every 5-7...i switched to blotter papers for a while, then powder , i was taking a hell of alot more then 4-8mg a day...at my worst i was popping 20-25 bars a day..and this was striaght greenstone bottles, back when pressed pills werent even a thing.

anyway, good luck kicking it man, its not easy.

[1 Points] None:

I wouldn't suggest going cold turkey on them because of the withdraws (Benzos have some of the worst withdraws you can imagine) and you risk of a relapse that will end up turning into an addiction worst than the one before. Have you tried asking /r/drugs? They have a lot of people that can help over there.

[1 Points] rappercake:

I'm currently physically addicted to benzodiazepines from etizolam/clonazolam powder, but I don't have a problem with it since I have a pretty bad anxiety disorder and Clonazolam + Effexor XR makes me feel like a social butterfly and totally fine.

As long as I can get more stock and not binge/use way too much (went from ~15mg clonazolam/day for a while to ~5mg/day and cutting to ~2.5mg/day in the past week) I'm fine with the addiction. If I have to choose between taking a benzo and living a decent life for as long as I can, or live a shitty life without an addiction, pass me the drugs.

Everybody dies, but not everybody lives. If you want to get off xanax, there's /r/benzorecovery, and you should go a doctor and tell them the truth and you can be put on a valium or maybe klonopin taper usually according to the ashton manual. It's very hard to taper off of xanax because it has such a short half-life and you have to keep dosing and it's very hard to taper successfully.

[1 Points] Thetehthe11:

I found myself taking up to 6mg of phenazepam a day at one point. Suddenly I stopped, and didn't realize I had become dependent 2 days later. (Super long half life) benzo WD sucks, bad. I however do recommend you finding a long lasting benzo to taper yourself down on. Valium, like suggested above is a good alternative. If you have the willpower, you can definitely do it in a few weeks. You may still suffer sleeping problems but your can cease your dependence. Do not cold turkey. Good luck

[1 Points] Duderino420:

I had to ween myself off...It was a shitty couple of weeks, Quantik made me some good cash but I was stupid to get high off my own supply.

[1 Points] procowtipper:

Glad you realized you had a serious problem man. Good luck in your endaevors.

[1 Points] None:

darknet got me heavily addicted to benzos, mainly clonazepam and xanax its hell man

EDIT: i got myself addicted to benzos, the darknet was just a easy way to source them

[1 Points] sillysally11:

It is not fun to be hooked on benzos, and even worse to be hooked over a dnm, the withdrawal is gonna really, really suck for you. Good luck for when you don't have anymore for whatever reason.

You'll probably end up on methadone like lots of other local ppl I know who were on benzos. That is how I'd recommend getting off. The methadone will take away the nasty feeling, but then you'll be hooked on methadone, which is not a bad thing if you have a prescription.

[1 Points] rogueXleader:

There's a lot of good advice state below. I can say from my experience being on benzos, then going off of them for a while, and eventually back on once I got a new Dr. I was seeing regularly(from several moves) that it can be pure hell going straight off of the things, especially xanax. It's so short acting that it makes it very difficult to taper down due to the short half-life. I would recommend, like others have said, trying to switch over to an equivalent dose of Valium or Klonopin and taper down that way to something where it was tolerable. Personally, from my experience clonazepam(even generic) is the better choice between the two, but diazepam works well in a pinch. Just the way they are priced on the dark web, if you look at equivalency charts, a 10mg Valium is like 1/2 or 1/4 the strength of Klonopin at 1mg, and those pills seems to be pretty much the same price. So you'd be paying twice as much for the equivalent amount of diazepam versus clonazepam but these drugs all affect people differently. Maybe try getting some of both and see which works better for you. Especially with the drinking...it's much more pronounced with the shorter acting benzos and can seriously lower your seizure threshold and bad things can happen, like crashing your car or falling down and busting your head wide open. Don't want anybody in this community to deal with that shit on their own, cause I know what a challenge it is. I've been told by some detox specialists in casual conversation that Xanax is actually much harder for a lot of people to come off of than opiates like heroin and that although opiate withdrawal is awful, it generally won't kill you. I've been there myself, even from using them prescribed legitimately, whether a doc went out of town and couldn't refill me or whatever, and it's a bitch. But the last time I was dealing with it all I did as I sat there with chills and pouring sweat and just generally feeling like crap was read what others have had to say on here and other forums about getting through it. Drinking plenty of fluid never hurts, cut down the drinking as much as you can(unless you have been drinking enough to need to taper with the drinks as well), and get your hands on some of the longer acting benzos that are much less addictive from my experience and what a lot of others have told me. Take care of yourself, bro. You've got a friend here if you need somebody to talk to or anything of the sort. Feel free. It's a slow process you have to be patient with and take one day at a time. The longer you can taper it down the better

[1 Points] freeworldleader36:

Honestly Xanax is more of a dependency problem rather than addiction. You CANNOT abruptly stop simply put. I have been prescribed since 2008 and I always take the same dose because it is not a bad thing to be dependent especially since doctors understand the dangers of going cold turkey therefore they always make sure you have enough and it is one of the only pharmaceuticals that just works. Trust me, Xanax dependence is the best/safest thing to be using vs nearly every other drug (I assume your not also doing opiods, downers, depressants, alcohol on the side which is very dangerous)

[1 Points] None:

You need to slowly ween yourself off of them, you need to join a support group too, longer you are on them the harder this will become. Its been 3 months, not half your life. You can beat this addiction I promise.

Remember, you are responsible for your own life. The darknets may make it easier to obtain drugs, but that doesn't mean you should.

[1 Points] WTHstopNOW:

Man, 4-8 mg a day is overkill. I'm sure you are already suffering from many bizarre effects without noticing them because just like you described you are like a zombie so you do not notice anything. The withdraw is even more bizarre but worth it. Xanax is the most addictive benzo, i suggest that you switch to benzo of long half-life, it could be clonazepam/klonopin and then stop doing it by slowly reducing the amount you take. If you are unable to reduce just go cold turkey, fuck the possible seizures, panic attacks, psychosis and etc, it will go away at some point.

[1 Points] dnm_master74:

THIS! About a year and a half ago I had to quit weed for a job and have terrible anxiety. I decided to buy 20 bars and they were like Jesus in a pill for me. The next thing I knew, I was blacking out and built a 7mg/day addiction in a summer. I was then ordering 250 bars at a time and it became very expensive. At this point I began ordering powder and my addiction hit 12mg/day. About three weeks ago, I checked into rehab and am so glad I'm getting off of this terrible drug.

Alprazolam is harder to get off than heroin and I don't care what the dope fiends have to say. They weren't 100% sure how much Xanax I was taking because I would take different amounts daily and ended up having a small seizure in detox. Xanax is the worst drug on the fucking planet because it works so well, but completely controls your life.

Once I'm tapered off this shit, I will never touch it again. It may be good for comedowns on hard drugs, but I don't care. It made me lose a great relationship, almost kill someone, total my vehicle, and made me a monster. FUCK BENZOS!

Message me if you need advice man. If it wasn't for DNM I would've just used Xanax to come down of psychs and MDMA, but I was a dumbass and replaced it with weed. If anything cannabis needs to be legal and I'm an example of what the "War on Drugs" has done to so many people...

[1 Points] None:

Xanax is the worst shit to be addicted to.. It turns you into a despicable person and you'll do things you would've never done in your right mind. Such as shop lifting sprees, wrecking cars, raging at your loved ones over nothing and the inability to accomplish anything important.. I'm talking about a heavy user (my brother)
