Beware Silkroad account Phishing

So I'm new to this whole deep web thing and at first I made an account on SR, followed the link from the Hidden wiki and explored for a while. The next day I used the same link and when I tried to sign in, it wouldn't let me and the background was different and the whole website setup was different. after an hour of research I found out the Link on HW leads to a Phishing site that redirects you to the Real Sr. Good thing I haven't put any BC in my wallet, I was confused as hell. The link on Hidden wiki is silkroad3og4b6bq.onion, but the real one is silkroad6ownowfk.onion. I was really confused because on DPR's twitter he has a different link that is Silkroad5v7dywlc.onion but I'm presuming that's the forum link. Anyways I just wanted to share my experience because i busted my balls doing research and there's no information regarding this situation and it really sucks because a lot of people can fall for these phishing login pages and get all their bitcoins stolen. Any thoughts?

i busted my balls doing research...

Strange. Did you not come across advice saying not to use links in Hidden Wiki?

Did you not start with r/DarkNetMarketsNOOBS?

This is not news, I'm afraid. The Hidden Wiki is much like the clearnet Wiki in that it can be edited by anyone. It's advisable not to trust, well, anything on HW.

Either memorise the URL. I don't even use SR2, never will, but even I can remember it as silkroad 6 ow now f(uc)k. If you are unable to the links to all the marketplaces are on the sidebar here.

Stay away from the HW. No good will ever come of it.

I did the exact same thing when I started out. I memorised the URL but it was the phishing one, for weeks I continuously kept using that same account and browsing, eventually felt reassured enough and took the leap, deposited money which never surfaced. It was only after that that I discovered the subreddits. My paranoia from that means I've not touched the real SR2, Agora seems to be of a similar size and I really like the feel (and some of the prices around) on Evo. As SR is such a brand and likely to be the first darknet market kids come to, it'll inevitably be targeted for phishing and falsehood more than any other.

Yeah you don't use the Hidden Wiki. Use the addresses on the sidebar.

Remember silk road is 6 ow now fuck. (well fk).

i've heard not to trust the hidden wiki. - always use the sidebar or saved address's

followed the link from the Hidden wiki and explored for a while.

Right, because that's what everyone tells you to do...

If you're going to use a hidden wiki, use this one. Popular links are protected from regular editing.

Why did you start off on a marketplace that has a warning explicitly posted right next to its link when there are a dozen other markets above it on the sidebar of this subreddit that work great?

PS: Never finalize early. Escrow is your friend.

If you're using SR2, you deserve to loose everything. That site is complete shit. They've already robbed everybody once, why would you trust them again? Do some research.
