As I read through it, I made some excerpts: http://pastebin.com/nmuQhZ2d (on Pastebin since it's too long for a Reddit post).

Note that a new transcript just went up today, courtesy of Daily Dot: https://www.scribd.com/doc/253361725/USA-v-Ulbricht-transcript-1-20 / http://antilop.cc/sr/files/2015_01_20_Ulbricht_trial_transcript_W2_D1.pdf / https://pdf.yt/d/6s57o3H70B1vH6bF / https://www.dropbox.com/s/tcbsqghw7g3adv9/253361725-USA-v-Ulbricht-transcript-1-20.pdf

I start to hate Ross. His grandeur and stupidity will not only send him to jail but also many others who trusted him.

[13 Points] DeafPirateRoberts:

Anyone else notice them totally gloss over the mention of 160k BTC in cold storage?

[11 Points] RealHumanHere:

Gwern, what would we do without you?

[6 Points] iLoveDNM:

Do we have transcripts for day 1 through 3? I've only seen day 4 and 5.

[6 Points] MrCrappy57:

This transcript says there was another HSI agent who went by "Mr. Wonderful". Does anybody know anything about this name?

[4 Points] MrCrappy57:

This latest transcript is very interesting. SA Der-Yaigh says he had about 18 accounts that he operated. If I am reading correctly he says about 6 were for buying and ~12 were vendor accounts.

Also interesting. SA Der (I don't know how to spell his name, I'm gonna call him Der from now on) was frustrated that other HSI offices were seized packages and trying to do CDs when he wanted to use the intelligence against the vendors. He apparently thought the other agencies would compromise his investigation.

creating the largest illegal drug market on Earth

keeping a detailed journal of all your activities

fail.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but a PGP key most definitely does contain contact / identifying information. It is not authenticated in any way, but the key block itself does have this information in it. Right? Not a big deal but still an inaccuracy.

Day 1/20, page 628, lines 8 on...

8 Q. So it doesn't have any specific identifying information

9 about the person who is creating the key, in other words, their

10 initials or anything or numbers or any kind of -- it's not like

11 a password where you would choose to put in the identifying

12 information so that you'd remember it, right?

13 A. Just on the profile itself can you -- it's customizable to

14 enter in certain information, like a name or an email address.

15 Q. No, I'm talking about the PGP key.

16 A. Okay.

17 Q. The PGP key is not like a password in the sense that you

18 put in identifying information. It's generated by the

19 computer?

20 A. You're saying, like, the output?

21 Q. Yeah, the actual key, the text block?

22 A. Yeah. It's random digits and numbers; yes.

[2 Points] stupidDNManswer:

Just to make it clear, Variety Jones or Smedy havent been arrested?

[2 Points] memorelapse:

I believe this is what they refer to in the US Government as a Granada (those of you familiar with Wolf of Wall Street know where this is headed)....they simply can't do anything but convict now. Ross is so fucked....They will from here forward refer to cases that are for sure wins as "Ulbrichts". So many lessons about OPSEC here....some real kindergarten shit too.

[2 Points] Miz_pizzyizz:

Quite the drama being woven in and around those docs; Curious about the Variety Jones character who suggested DPR moniker w/ advice to "start the legend now", multiple ppl note changes in DPR forum posts around the same time Bates' testimony says that Ross's attitude changed from "stressed" to "chilled". Who is, where is this "advisor", as he fancied himself on vendors list linked in the OP, this "mentor" who ciphered "for 12 straight hours" to come up w/ Dread Pirate Roberts?

More i read, more this shit reeks, le in right from the get

[2 Points] eeeewan:

But 5 php is what's called a scripting program, right? 6 A. It is, yes. 7 Q. And by that we mean sort of how you build a site, 8 essentially, a website? 9 A. Yes. 10 Q. And is it somewhat similar to, in a Windows-based 11 environment, say html? 12 A. Html, similar but not the same."

Ugh, that question on line 10 makes me wince technically :P

[1 Points] InfinitelyOutThere:

Thanks for throwing this up :) Is the trial continuing today?
