Vendor wants me to send funds to outside wallet after receiving product, is this fishy?

So I ordered something from a vendor and they told me to pay upon arrival, is that weird? I let them know that I got the product and they told me to send coins to a specific wallet instead of just going through the store. I find that weird...any help would be welcomed.

Edit: Thanks for all the feedback everyone. I was just looking out for my safety since I haven't done a transaction in this way before. Sounds like I had nothing to be worried about.

Bitcoin was made to FREE us from financial tyranny, not involve alphabay in our private business.

That guy must be a good vendor, because in essence HE FE'd for YOU. But he can ask you to pass the butter himself, he doesn't have to ask alphabay to ask you.

You got your drugs without becoming a fraud victim, so don't pay alphabay! Pay the vendor!

Wait so you dont have to pay him until it arrives and he wants you to pay straight to their wallet or address??? Sounds like you got the better end of the deal.

And yeah they do this to avoid paying fees

It's called FE but you got the better version where you pay him on arrival.

If you are worried tumble first.

If you don't want to say who the vendor is....is it one of the bigger vendors that's known on here?

Is it private store or through a market?

This is odd because if they're a legit vendor, they should know what and how to proceed with their bitcoins once they are in their market wallet. I wouldn't be comfortable doing this but that's just me.

Did you get the right item and the right amount? Not that weird. Doesn't really make a difference either way.

Ill be a little clearer. A vendor with good reviews and who I messaged back and forth with a few times told me that he would send me a specific amount of product and when it arrived to message him and pay him then. No FE was done. He told me to send him bitcoin to a wallet address that he sent to me VIA PM. I am curious why he wants me to do that, could it be that since he sent me an amount that wasnt listed for sale its simply easier to pay this way? or does this sound like something maniacal?

more vendors should do this to win trust

Before silk road and bitcoin I bought bho off a guy like this. He'd send the product then id send the cash. Sounds like you got a good vendor!

Vendor tries to avoid fees. IMO you should not support that. He's using the market's interface, he should pay for it.
