Order never came should I try to make a deal before disputing with vendor?

He doesnt offer reships refunds, but he has good products and there aren't a lot of domestic vendors.

He has good feedback and I ordered from him before and everything arrived the next day. Just this time I am waiting over a week and already asked him whats up but so far got only one reply stating aslong as the name and address are correct it 100% will arrive.

I decided to wait a couple days more but nothing so I will dispute tomorrow but is it a good idea to try to contact the vendor one last time and agree on a reship or smth? Since I would love to use him more often due to his products but not sure if I try to make a deal before a official dispute it may come off as "shady" and if he declines I won't win the official dispute..

Yea, message him first, vendors HATE it when we just wake up and find a dispute without the buyer messaging us first and giving us a chance to make it right.

Tell him you're worried and would appreciate tracking, then see whats up. If hes stubborn and wont help then yes dispute, but give him a change.

I’ve had this happen once or twice. Just explain it didn’t arrive, if he or she could check the tracking. If they seem open to it after they realize it didn’t show up you can ask for a refund. I had more success asking for 50% reship. Vendors don’t control the mail once it’s dropped in that blue box after all.

Message the vendor first, explaining your situation, and then dispute before the timers runs out. /u/bartardindustries explains it right.
