Restoring my PGP priv keys

as title states i am attempting to follow the guide to restore my persistence on a new usb stick, thankfully before i lost usb stick i made a backup 2 days prior, i have to the file i backed up (12-16-2017-01.41.33-backup.tbz2) i also extracted it to the same location (12-16-2017-01.41.33-backup) now my point is i attempted to go through the bible exactly as it states step by step....i dont remember if i ever had a backup with the filename ending in (.backup.tbz2.gpg) so when i get to the decrypt part im encountering errors.... the only thing i really care about is importing my old pgp private key so i can regain access to my market accounts and prove im really me to my vendors and shit

so i have been browsing through my extracted backup file and have my (gnupg) folder which contains another folder called (private-keys-v1.d)

its has 2 serperate (.key) files or watever in there but im having alot of trouble importing them into my new usb >password & keys>pgp keys>>>GnuPG keys section...can anyone help me out, i have admin password enabled and out of everything the only thing i really want to get back is my pgp keys because i have my electrum seed

[1 Points] MindfulChem:

For some reason when I've had to re-import keys if I do it the "wrong way" they don't show up (all blank in the pgp keys section) and don't work when I try to decrypt.

The best way I've found to backup and restore is to export your pgp key, then open that in a text editor and backup the private pgp key in keepassX. When it's time to restore them I copy the key and create a file. I used to just double click the file after wards and while it would say "successfully imported" those are the times I've experienced problems and it seems like once you have a problem the best is to start on a new copy of tails. I'll usually create a new key in my new tails, something like hello@hello.com just to make a key and then use the import feature in the app and select the key I've backedup before.

TL;DR - use the openpgp app and import them manually, if no keys show up wipe and try again maybe making a bullshit key first before trying to import
