Making my first order, but I'm always at work at the time of the postman coming.

How do you guys get around this? As I live in Germany, I was thinking of using a Packstation.

It doesnt really matter. If its a package they will sent it to the packet station where you can go and pick it up. If its a "letter" you dont need to be at home, it will just be in your mail.

In the UK we have these things we call "letter boxes", they're usually either part of your front door or next to it. A kind of flap on a spring, which the postman puts the letter or envelope through it and it drops on the floor of your property. Cool right?

This happens without any assistance from me, while I'm at work. Then I get home from work and start consuming the contents.

What you thinking of ordering?

Before I started working from home I had everything just delivered to my workplace (being friends with the janitor helped a lot). Over the years I received several shroom growkits, small amounts of weed, RCs, laptops, a 70 liter minibar, four sets of blinds for my apartment and a mostly pre-mounted motorcycle (the latter got my boss slightly upset however).

I always stored "critical" packages and envelopes in the locker and tucked them in my backpack in an unseen moment, but nobody asked anyway.

Second post as the OP clarified he is German.

Is the idea with the Packstation just about receiving orders more discreetly? Because if you are not at home on delivery, the postman will leave a note on where the package can be fetched next workday, so in either case it is an additional walk or drive.

At least concerning Dutch smartshops and some domestic clearnet RC vendors I know that many will, even if they support DHL, not deliver to Packstationen; as for darknet vendors I would just clarify that on a case-by-case basis.
