Agora was the best from a technical view. Silkroad was the best from an ideology/innovation view.
[2 Points] DexOyama:
i have to go with Agora because they werent shut down they left without exit scamming too
[1 Points] Devoid_:
Agoras security was way better no comparison Ross wasn't the darknet messiah everyone makes him out to be. His arrogance got him caught. Agora had more listings and vendors but sr1 had a certain magic to it. The letters from dpr and the exotic listings were something

I'm going with Agora on this one. Sr1 was only praised because it was an innovative approach to something. Agora was better in function, aesthetics, and longevity. Sr1 had a great forum community but agora rivaled that as well.

SR1's sense of community was far better then any market ive ever been on; WAAAY less FE requesting, vendor exit scams, better admin support, and just all in all a more professional environment IMO. Less listings yes but you didnt have to watch your back nearly as much back then.

would there have been Agora, without SR? I am not so sure.... Yonder123 is right though - both great places, and also raised the bar in their own ways about what could be achieved using t'internet.
We can consider Agora to still be present - to the best of our knowledge, the admins are living in freedom. They are living well.
SR...can't really say the same thing.
I would say Agora is superior in longevity, while Agora and SR comparable for reliability and functionality.
They were two great places to be honest. Damn.
