I live in a rental townhouse that a couple owns. They don't come around unless I need repairs (which I wouldn't schedule if I was expecting a delivery). Let's assume that if I were to get a CD, then I wouldn't have a problem escaping any potential charges. But, I'm wondering if I get a CD, which can happen even if you have the best opsec, 1) do you think LE would notify my landlords of this and 2) if they do, would they have grounds to evict me even if no charges are issued or charges are dismissed in court. I'm not sure if it would violate renter's rights if they do evict from this and I'd have grounds to fight it.
Also, same scenario, would LE possibly obtain a search warrant for my workplace after conducting a CD or would they be able to notify my workplace if they performed a CD leading to a potential termination?
My thinking is that even if I escape legal concerns, how likely is it that I run into consequences in these other areas? What measures can be taken to prevent eviction or workplace termination?
A CD will happen where you recieve the package.
You'll bring it inside, LE will come knocking, and they'll do their thing. They won't notify anyone that could tip you off. The only way your workplace would know is if you had the package sent there.
Unless you actually get arrested all that happened is the police came and talked to you, then left. Your landlord has to follow the lease, and work can fuck right off.
Now, if they actually charge you with something, you're probably going to have issues with both.
For just having LE attempt a CD? You're over thinking it.
