I've lost more to markets closing than vendor scams

If there is anything the dark internet has brought to the masses it is being robbed while trying to buy drugs.

I get the shady nature of these markets but I had not considered being as skeptical about the 'escrow' service as I am about the vendors. I have only had 1 DNM vendor scam to the tune of ~$100. Coins lost to market closures now are around $1.5k. I've never had anyone rob me in real life buying grass. The worst that has ever happened IRL is some boner told me his shit was fire and it was mexican brick, but at least I had something in my hand for my money.

I am old man; a medical canabis user who lives in a prohabition state. I dont deal drugs,I just want medicine.

Here's a simple guide which will solve your problems:

  1. before placing an order, read the subs for a couple of hours, check DNstats, and make sure nothing funky is going down.

  2. Fully evaluate vendors. Use feedback, number of deals, check the language in their profile, check them on Grams or Reddit, etc. Use escrow vendors only.

  3. Don't send coins to the market until the exact minute you're going to make the deal. Never send more than you need.

  4. Enjoy.

The SR1 scams in 2011 used to yield scammers hundreds of thousands of dollars from a single vendor scam account I shit you NOT. I think in the very beginning, we were all literally so fucking crazed that we were actually getting away with this shit that getting scammed was the furthest from our minds. A single scammer could buy and sell bitcoins, sell H, sell coke, and sell everything else under the sun, NEVER once actually ship a single product and rake in thousandssssssssssssssssssssss in just weeks. In the very beginning Ross had his hands full and couldn't keep up with anything.

I've somehow been lucky enough to avoid all vendor and market exit scams. However, I've lost almost the amount that you did by using Blockchain.info over Tor. Those vulnerabilities were very real, only Electrum for me from now on...

I think I've lost $1. My btc doesn't leave my circle wallet until I know what I'm buying. Why on earth would you leave thousands of dollars in a market wallet?

Push for multisig use

Given a choice between multisig and single-key escrow, always go with multisig

Buying since SR1 days. I have only EVER lost money and that was the Evolution scam. Every vendor I have bought from has been really good.

With all due respect, if that's your conclusion about DN, then you should just pack it up and go. It's not for you.

If what you're claiming is true, then you don't have the capacity to use the DN to buy your medicine. Maybe if you have someone who knows what they're doing give you some one to one instruction, you might consider trying again, but otherwise no. The amount of money you claim to have lost as just a consumer and not a trafficker tells me you are fucking up big time. Keep your money in your pocket dude.

I was probably minutes away from losing 1k from this BB scam. only lost $50 instead.

I've had the total opposite experience, and escrow allows you to try new vendors stress free. As long as you don't keep money in your market wallet, you have a very small chance of losing money.

The drugs are so much cheaper and of higher quality I still feel like I'm the one robbing them.
