what does this mean?

i got my tracking number from a vendor today and i go to type it in on USPS and it says

"The Postal Service could not locate the tracking information for your request. Please verify your tracking number and try again later."

i've never seen this before and i placed the order about 14 days ago (order is from germany to US) does this mean customs got it? im paranoid as hell.

Mate, I'm sorry. You're going to go to jail.

I don't know how USPS works, but maybe you have to use an external site to track it? A third party one I mean, as maybe the vendor used a special shipment or something for safety?

Happened to me before. Got scared as shit and was already expecting the worst. Turns out the order was still in EU and not registered with USPS, yet. Try a third party tracker like trackitonline.ru

It just means that the info wasn't entered into the system yet. Wait a day or so and check again.

something wrong for sure, may be incorrect info

not the slightest clue

Had you checked the number before And it worked? If not the vendor may have given you an invalid number

[1 Points] aboutthednm:

It means USPS has no record of this tracking number.

  1. Your Package was just mailed and is not in the system yet
  2. The Tracking Number was made up and does not exist
  3. The Package has been delivered and the record no longer exists

[1 Points] TripAddict:

It's possible that it still didn't enter the USA, so it doesn't show up on USPS tracking.
