Submitted for your approval: my DarkNet method

I have yet to make my first attempt to purchase off the DN. Any feedback from more experienced users would be appreciated.

  1. Go to a public Wi-Fi location (i.e. Starbucks), and run Tails from a formatted FAT USB drive on a junk laptop with the hard drive removed.
  2. Start TOR (located on USB drive) and obtain BTC from Local BitCoin and have it transferred to an offline wallet client stored on the USB drive.
  3. Pay for non-logging VPN service with BTC.
  4. Exit TOR and Tails, and configure VPN connection on Windows desktop.
  5. Re-enter Tails and configure built-in OpenPGP and start TOR.
  6. Tumble rest of BTC (good tumbler?)
  7. Create throwaway account on preferred DarkNet Market.
  8. Have BTC sent from tumbler to the Market wallet.
  9. Make purchase and have the package sent to personal address with real name.
  10. Log off TOR.
  11. Exit Tails.
  12. Run CCleaner.
  13. Remove USB drive.
  14. Shutdown laptop.

The laptop is never powered on at my residence or anywhere besides a public Wi-Fi with the intent of accessing the DarkNet (basically, it's sole purpose, hence being disposable/junk).

And also, if worst comes to worst and a package gets compromised/intercepted, all that has to be done is persistent denial and all liable convictions are null.

Any good?

Sounds excessive unless you're moving real weight or are a vendor.

either you're way too paranoid or you're thinking about opening a market yourself. in which case you could also put a strap on the usb connected to your wrist that you could pull out of the laptop if the feds come busting in Starbucks. it could've helped Ross. but at that point even that might not have helped enough.

in my opinion the dodgy part is always the delivery of your order.

Don't use that VPN, you're just increasing your attack surface. What was the point of ever booting up Windows in the first place if you're using Tails for all of this?

And....... you forgot PGP. Otherwise, You are good to go.

Use a dvd-r instead of a USB stick to boot tails.
