Can LE convict without physical evidence?

Ok so you ordered on Hansa, used autoencrypt (I didn't order on Hasa btw), LE has your address. By the time they come knocking your house is clean and electronics are clean.

Won't the same plausible deniability defence work? I.e. ok somebody ordered drugs to my address but it wasn't me?

Or will they have your IP address maybe?

Or will they be able to trace the BTC to your real bank account, if say you bought off LBC using a National Bank Transfer but sent to an intermediate wallet like Electrum before sending to the market?

Sorry, I'm sure the answers are in the threads but for a less than expert person such as myself I'm finding it hard to assimilate all the information and what is and isn't possible.

A while ago the general view seemed to be that you would get busted by LE by a pack getting intercepted and then blockchain analysis may help with the prosecution, but that really without actually finding drugs on you, any conviction would be very unlikely.

That view seems to have changed now (hence all the support for Monero).

They won't chase you down for little orders, nor will they chase Blockchain transactions if for small orders, nor do they have the resources for it. They want to scare the small drug users. They only will hunt down and try bring to prison the big vendors and big buyers.
But LE does what they want. You can only use the law against your local LE, if higher LE really wants you chased down for an ordered gram of something they will get you.

shipping address alone I would say unlikely conviction, likely still investigation. address +IP +or blockchain evidence +or physical evidence = definitely fucked.

Depends on where you are, this is a question best suited to a sub like /r/legaladvice

DAILY REMINDER: CIRCUMSTANTIAL EVIDENCE IS JUST AS GOOD/VALID AS PHYSICAL.

[2 Points] GrandWizardsLair:

First, how big an order are we talking about? A few grams of weed is one thing: 100g of a fentanyl analogue is another.

Second: if we're talking about the latter, what is most likely to happen is that police are going to work to build a case against you. When the 18 year-old in Oregon ODed from U47700, police traced the order back to PeterTheGreat then began a campaign of surveillance against him. After they had a couple dozen packs in hand and ascertained they contained opiates, they got a search warrant for his home. Given how serious the charges were, they wanted to make sure they had him nailed before they zoomed in for the kill. If you're trying to tie somebody to a fentanyl distribution ring you want more than circumstantial evidence. Especially since he likely has the funds to hire the best criminal defense attorney in town.

To get charged and convicted of any type of conspiracy charge is very very easy. I have a friend that trafficked multiple kilos of cocaine in the early to mid 2000s. He was and is a very promising up and coming rapper. He got on the Feds radar while rapping after he had already left the dope game. His plug from Texas got popped and snitched on him from doing business multiple years earlier and based off of two snitches testimony they were able to convict him of conspiracy to traffick cocaine with zero physical evidence. Look up Dirt Diggla and Young Cash, who is signed to t-pains record NappyBoy. They were partners and got convicted because of the same two snitches.

The burden of proof for any conspiracy charge is very low.

They'd get you on conspiracy to commit a felony at the very least. The conspiracy charge is a nightmare to avoid and is basically prosecution's ace in the hole.

[1 Points] LoveMyMailman:

Yes the FEDS are known for convicting people with no physical evidence. You can have someone in your circle get caught and then testify against other people for a reduced sentence.

Quite common actually.

Interesting. I'm small time, not too worried but not totally unworried either.

Never used Hansa. Would really like to know if they have addresses of AB/Dream but we may not for a while.

To simplify a complicated answer: they can but they won't.

[1 Points] Notmyrealnameasshole:

Dont they have to deal with statute of limitations(at least in US)? They have unlimited resources but not unlimited time correct?

They may not wasn't to go to trail.

Here is the kicker though, the jury convicts you. If they have an Allstar lawyer who paints a picture acting like you make Pablo Escobar look like an angle, you're in trouble. You can have all the facts you want.

In court, facts don't matter as much as convincing the jury.

Once again, LE most likely wouldn't go to trial unless they felt they could get a conviction. You can always appeal as well.
