Arkansas State LE Obtains Warrant for Alexa Data

Link to NBC story here (Edit: Referring to Amazon Echo, the household voice command gizmo. I hear my neighbor yell at Alexa often enough that I just started calling it that.)

Yikes. Not a DNM-related bust, but figured it was newsworthy to the denizens of /r/DarkNetMarkets. You have to wonder how the Federales will proceed after seeing this. If state LE can readily get what's basically an exploratory warrant, even for murder, it doesn't seem unlikely that this will crop up for a DNM vendor in the future.

Fucking R-Kansas.

First the goddamn Razorbacks and their fat fuck of a coach blow a 24 point lead last night costing me (a not-insignificant amount of) money, and now this.

Ugh.

Not an american here,

What exactly does Echo do? Does it record everything it hears? If so why does anyone have it?

That flair tho.....

Alexa only activates when she hears her name. She doesn't record all the time.
