Anywhere I can purchase access to an academic database?

Having graduated from my MA, I no longer have access. Yet, as I'm now doing a bunch of freelance writing/independent research, academic journal articles are an invaluable source of information. My library provides ebsco use--but what I can access/read is severely limited. So was wondering if anybody knows a market that sells login credentials? :D

Out of all the things I've seen requested here, this has gotta be one of the coolest ones. A Darknet Scholar is born.

You should ask DrawkwarD or another login vendor. I have a feeling that the way they get their accounts is through a botnet (+ cracking, maybe) and if so, they will undoubtedly have some .edu logins. 5 years ago or so when I was still messing around with malware analysis I was keeping stashes of browser saved password dumps that were uploaded to hacked FTP servers and my friend at the time was doing "ghost writing" of university papers. I needed the same thing you're looking for now and managed to find quite a few of them. I don't remember the name of the sites but if what you're looking for are full unrestricted research papers and articles, that's what they were.

If I remember correctly, there were books too. He just used it for references.

I wonder if there is a sub where people can trade what they do have... me and this girl from Pakistan traded, she's in med school and I needed pubmed but I'm in a PhD and she needed liberal arts logins and it worked perfect for both of us. Sorry not of direct help but I honestly think social networking might be an advantage here.

I am an academic database filled with witty anecdotes about any topic under the sun. Or should I say moon.

Speaking of the moon, last night I was on the grassy knoll in Kingston-On-Thames waiting for the supermoon eclipse. My eyes were tired from a weekend rager, so I grabbed for my pipe to take a hit of that Black Magic when it dawned on me... Where are the women with legs that don't quit? I looked around on the grassy knoll to find a bunch of johns.

Then as the moon light hit in just the right direction I saw a woman walking towards me with a silhouette of Marisa Tomei in "My Cousin Vinny". Those shoulder pads are quite intimidating. Just as I sparked the pipe I saw her face and it was none other than Gypsy Nirvana's wife. The Master of the Dark Arts herself. She told me that Tim Farron and the Liberal Democrats paid her handsomely, which is why she donned the shoulder pads, to conjure up the supermoon eclipse. Before I could ask why, a pigeon flew by and snagged my toupee. I tried to grab it but my efforts were fruitless. I turned around, Gypsy Nirvana's wife was gone and I was left wondering what my 8 BTC donation to the Liberal Democrats was REALLY financing. Good thing I have Tim on speed dial. I'm getting a call right now, Trappy_Pandora is that you?

So the way I see it, you have 3 options.

  1. Become a teacher, get a job at a good high school, profit.

  2. Fuck a librarian

  3. Offer a random college kid a dub sack for their login credentials

Arxiv.org is the shit for math, physics, computer science, and computational biology/finance

buy cheap usb's, and install encrypted FUD Remote access tool or a simple keylogger , to a teachers or admins computer, then recover at a later day then u can access the administrator panel of the school network, update your grades and whatnot :P ,,, make sure to name your .exe file with something clever in order for them to click it. u can also bind file types for it to appear as mp3 or jpg

Isn't that what Aaron Swartz did? Put academic journals and research up online for all to see?

For those of you who haven't the slightest idea what I am on about, here's an informative documentary of the tragic end of a great person, Aaron Swartz.

The film follows the story of programming prodigy and information activist Aaron Swartz. From Swartz's help in the development of the basic internet protocol RSS to his co-founding of Reddit, his fingerprints are all over the internet. But it was Swartz's groundbreaking work in social justice and political organizing combined with his aggressive approach to information access that ensnared him in a two-year legal nightmare. It was a battle that ended with the taking of his own life at the age of 26. Aaron's story touched a nerve with people far beyond the online communities in which he was a celebrity. This film is a personal story about what we lose when we are tone deaf about technology and its relationship to our civil liberties.

Dude, if I could get lexisnexis access I would give someone a few blowjobs

[2 Points] pseudocoder1:

I've had good luck emailing the authors for a copy. Also they usually have a university web site with all their papers accesible

College student here, I'll give you my academic login for the right price. PM me.

Im sure you could just ask one of your prof's for access

Good idea. I wanted to sell books on the DNM. Nothing crazy, just resell books. Treat the dark net as something more than just drugs but a source of information removed from any governing agent.

But then I got lazy.

At all the schools I've been to if you go to them physically and use their school WiFi you get automatically passed into their databases. If not WiFi then at their library computers. It's inconvenient but could you make a list of every article you need and go once a week to get them?

You could probably find college kids who would give you their login data. I am not sure how to approach them. Might be a bit tricky if the them credentials give you access to their grades and adress. In some university town you can just walk in the library. Maybe you ask someone there if she or he could quickly login and then do your research.
