AlphaBay issues

I've been back and fourth on going public with this, sense I'm a vendor on Alphabay and have been for 6ish months. I was going to wait til my escrow clears and post this from my vendor account because I know how it looks hearing about x market place from new accounts/throwaways, but decided to just go ahead and hope to prevent this from happening to others.

I decided to do an order some days ago, so I made a fresh account and transferred a few coins over to an account that wouldn't be linked to me, due to it being a physical package. I messaged the vendor about the possible order, but then I had my own orders come in. I switched back over, got the orders out while the coin was coming, and by the time I went to go back in to do the order Alphabay pulled my funds back out and changed the password to my new buyer account.

I was not phished, nor do I open any links. I did get the standard message from Alpha support or whatever, and left it unread because I already know its sent to all new members and it contains a phishing link - idk why they still allow that account. The account name was never re-used/recycled on any other forum/market place. I was straight jacked by them, and confirmed my funds were moved out within hours of coming in via the blockchain

They are scamming all new users. Anyone can test this. Add funds into a new account, let it sit for a few hours, and once they see it they will withdraw it and change your password. The best "support" you get from there is that you were hacked or opened up the wrong link. They don't care about keeping new users, because they are just going cash out soon.

I can verify to any mod that I am a vendor, and they can see my post history has always been positive to this marketplace. They refunded me my bond, let me continue to vend for free, never had any issues with withdrawls/disputes, but they clearly just robbed me thinking I was some new user. I can also show the coin going in, the coin going out, and where its sitting now.

The forums are over loaded with posts like this everyday, and I guess I didn't want to believe that it was really happening. I assumed with all the phishing/malware on the site it was just people who were new to the markets learning things the hard way.

For anyone who is trying to find a new home, just don't. While you have a few hour window before they withdraw it, its just not worth the risk. My other buyer account has done 10+btc no issues sense july, but I always spend it the second it comes in.

This is an outrageous claim. And I don't mean it is a lie, I mean if there is so much as a shred of truth to this then all Hell needs to break out. Just exactly WTF is going on? How could they possibly get away with this without the community noticing in a more coherent form than these odd posts here and there?

I don't really have a stake in alphabay. I just keep a small amount of bitcoin on there that I have no intention of spending, and I'm willing them to steal it.

Why?

I'm a generation older than most of you, and I started working as a chemist at the tail end of the Cold War. I instinctively think of americans as the good guys, and rightly or wrongly, Russian carders as the bad guys.

I know I have a history of reacting rather badly to marketplaces stealing my bitcoin, and maybe I go too far, staying awake for days chasing stolen bitcoin through the blockchain. But theft is wrong. I'm angry and sad.

Sad, because every time, American vendors are nowhere to be seen, and I FEEL your embarrassment. I'm pretty sure that US vendors are the most likely to scam on the planet. I think you would make grandwizzardslair president if you could, simply because he speaks in the 3rd person but still manages to address an envelope.

Now, I'm not in favor of a return to mcCarthyism or the Unamerican activities committe or anything. Every man has his price

But if trappy_Pandora was a British weed vendor helping Russian carders to defraud british drug customers, I think I'd be too embarassed to post on here in front of Americans. If he was a Russian helping Americans to rip off Russians, that traitor would face a firing squad for treason.

It pains me to see a once-proud country accept one of their own, coming here and shilling on behalf of his russian paymasters, and never lifting a finger when a markertplace won't let you have your own bitcoin - communist or not. The thought of those leather-jacketed Oligarchs and that 5th-columnist PR-for-hire laughing at how easy it was to fool the decadent Americans and their British lapdogs..their laughter cuts through me like a knife. that's why I WANT them to steal from BBMC. So I can do 'em on the blockchain.

The bitcoin is just an excuse for me to try to give you guys some pride back, so that one day you might be able to help yourselves, and even (dare I say it?) get the vendors you deserve. Because, so far, they've been cowards.

Every one of them. I feel like it will be different this time.

Same, I wish that the fucking grams feedback indexer would fucking work, so I can get all my feedback before ab exit scams.

this makes me scared :\ I have not experienced this during the past days all my coins were okay, but posts like yours do come up a lot now...

I miss Agora. :( I used AB for the first time a day or so ago (though I've had an account for a good while), and it took like eight to ten confirmations for my deposit to show up. I was pissed because I was thinking that I got duped since some users have been reporting not seeing their deposits show up. Mine eventually showed up but god it made me decide to look somewhere else for my next purchase.

something is telling me they are auto draining accounts that deposit BTC immediately after being created. Probably in an attempt to stop vendors from shilling their feedbacks. After all, most people browse a little bit before placing an order. their escrow hedge is also broken.... it hedges the USD if bitcoin rises so they gain the win, and it hedges BTC if it drops so they dont lose anything.

This is why I use multisig on EIC. I am not sure if AB supports multisig.
