DNM Avengers Operational Pause (1/26/16)

Edit: we just had an amazing person (who wishes to remain anonymous) donate 10 BTC so we will be resuming operations 1/27/16! We need to figure out logistics for the future, so codes are still taking a break for one day.

Second edit: we've received another large donation offer. You people are truly wonderful souls. I suppose it wouldn't be a bad time to shamelessly plug our donation address (listed here)? If you do donate, please let me know who you are if you'd like recognition!

Quoted here, for those who don't have access to tor at the moment:

Hello darknet friends and family!

We have made great progress over the past months in the testing of DNM substances. We've created our own forum, gained a partnership with one of the top substance-testing laboratories in the world, and sent out over 100 codes for samples for users to test their gear for free! Some vendors have been outed as having inferior, dangerous, or mis-advertised product. However, most of the results have come back as being legitimate and very pure. We are very pleased with this, as it means users are getting what they order and expect, and from a harm-reduction standpoint this is wonderful news.

Due to funding issues, we need to pause operations for a short time, until we can complete our first round of fundraising. Starting Tuesday, January 26th 2016 (UTC), we will pause giving out codes until further notice. If you requested your code before 1/26/16 then you will still receive a code if you haven't already.

This is something quite amazing! We were able to send out over 100 tests so far. At the current exchange rate, that's over $8,200 USD! We wouldn't have been able to do this without the help of some extremely generous humans such as Grams, Top_Gear_UK, and Quantik, along with many other unnamed individuals (you know who you are-if you'd like to be named, send me a message!)

Be on the lookout for our 50/50 raffle coming very soon! You'll find the announcement in our Announcements section at the top of our forum.

We also have some other ideas thanks to some highly thoughtful individuals, which we would like feedback on:

  • Each test code will cost $5. This is a small price, and we think that it will add at least a nominal barrier to entry. It will also help with the issue of users requesting codes and never sending anything in. When this happens, it's a pain to deal with, and it happens more than we'd like.

  • Offer a cheaper non-quantitative analysis to detect adulterants. Reagent test + Thin Layer Chromatography. This can give useful results for cocaine, speed, MDMA, ketamine, heroin... not RCs. Of course we prefer quantitative tests, but for a cocaine user it can make a difference to know if their sample is just cocaine or coke + levamisole + fenacetine + who knows.

We owe a huge thanks to everyone who has donated, sent in samples, and posted to our forum. We're eternally grateful, for without you none of this would be possible.

Side note: if you think that it is pertinent for a sample to be tested within this window of closure (for example multiple users reporting problematic product) message me or another mod and we will work something out.

With kind love,

The DNM Avengers staff

Will the forum still be up and running?

I like the sound of each test code costing $5, given that it's pretty much a non-issue for most anyone to pay such a small amount. Plus, increasing the efficiency of handing out codes and ensuring you don't need to chase people up is better for everyone making use of your services.

How much do you think the Reagent+TLC service would cost? If it's very cheap then I can imagine it would be quite useful, but if it's only marginally less expensive than a full GC/MS quantified report it probably wouldn't be used all too much.

Keep up the great work :^)

I'm still pledging 2.5% of all on-market income to the fund from relaunch forward, indefinitely. I hesitated for a second but then I remembered how much 10BTC actually is and it's not going to keep you set for a lifetime, but initially I read it as "100BTC" and I was definitely going to redirect the funds at that point. But I do like to publicly announce and support projects I like relevant to the movement.

Soon, I will even have a product or two that can be properly analyzed by them which is exciting. I mean I do my own testing as well but it's not publicized because it's useless to do so. You don't have the IRS audit itself if the IRS is accused of embezzlement and such.

Bravo Zulu to the DNM Avengers team and everyone who has supported it thus far. Heres to hoping your fundraising is a success. Cheers my DNM fam!

Cheers to the anon benefactor! That is a huge amount of harm reduction right there... props to you masked avenger.

[1 Points] TheOpiateKing:

Avengers is the best fucking site ever. If you aren't registered there yet you are missing out. Yeah they are about testing and harm reduction but they also have a great community with topics about every drug! JOIN!

[1 Points] an_illegal_smile:

Many thanks to the kind donators for their contribution to the health and safety of us all. And thanks, DNM Avengers! (Seconding that it's a great forum.)

Lol wasn't Quantik.

[1 Points] RiderInTheNight007:

What you do is great. Keep it up!

Dear Admins of DNM Avengers

When I read the title of this thread I thought you guys were going to close the forums down and I was almost pissed off until I read the post (wipes sweat from forehead)

I've submitted test report way before you guys started offering free testing service. I have absolutely no problems paying for the test "out from my pocket" so this doesn't affect me in the slightest.

Keep up the good work guys /u/DnmAvenger & /u/Ethereality_DNM

Thats five grand. Not pennies. Please leave the donation money in a multisig wallet. It would be such a shame if someone ran off with it. I'll donate 100 bucks to a multisig wallet with reputable DMNavenger persons holding the various keys if itll get the multisig idea off of the ground.

I don't quite follow why you are closing. You are fully funded now, right?

I bet you have a sun tan when operations un-pause!

Sometimes you have to make compromises to keep going, I understand that. But in the case of drug-testing, I can't help feeling that full-disclosure is preferable. That's a hefty donation - enough for a decent motor, and going by the list of other donors it could be a major vendor.

They've done a good thing by funding you, and I urge other vendors to contribute. But do it openly. Modesty ISN'T good in this particular case, because its like Olympic athletes funding the steroid testers.

You are doing good work, keep it up. But don't allow money to change anything or rub shoulders too much with us manufacturers and vendors. You are policing us, so don't trust us.
