These dopaminergic drugs they're creating are scary. They're fine for parkinsons patients, because any improvement in their quality of life is worth it. But those drugs can cause a crazy long lasting withdrawal syndrome, that may just be permanent brain damage. I understand that your restless legs might be annoying, but don't let yourselves be experimented on by doctors who didn't think RLS was a illness worth treating until there were a bunch of new drugs to treat it. Just another in a long line of ill defined diseases that didn't exist until the pharmaceutical companies had drugs to sell for those diseases.
GSK just lost a major lawsuit over the fact that they were marketing their parkinson drugs for RLS. The sickest part is that they created a support group for RLS patients, and then took out ads talking about how great their dopaminergic drugs is(without using the words RLS, because they aren't approved to treat that). At the bottom of those ads was a link to this support group. The support group is all about asking your doctor to put you on one of their dopaminergic drugs.(they aren't allowed to market drugs off-label to consumers anymore, but as always they find the loophole. They put in place moderators that help keep their forums on track, talking about how it helped people and quiety using the rules to arbitrarily remove posts.
Suboxone has a forum run by whoever makes it, the post are shameful and the moderators should be held criminally responsible. They promote that every member take suboxone as a maintenance drug, and promote the idea that you are sober when you take suboxone. I've seriously seen posts where people were begging for help quitting, and the moderator asked "Why do you want to stop suboxone in the first place? It sounds like you were doing good while on it.

I tried Abilify almost a decade ago to deal with some depression and stuff I was having at the time, and it made me very sick - and I think mania was also something they had warned me about, but the sickness sort of trumped EVERYTHING else.
Let me clarify, when I say really sick - I mean like vomiting like I had food poisoning for 3-4 days.

What about doing Coke in a Casino in Las Vegas ? That my friend would turn anyone on earth into a sex and a gambling addict.
There is another medication, Requip, that also promotes compulsive behavior. Over a decade ago my mother was using it for restless leg syndrome. Not long after that she began to frequent the local casino, which was strange given that neither of my parents up until that point had ever gambled or expressed any interest in doing so.
It got pretty bad for a stretch there. I don't know if or when she stopped taking Requip, but she still visits the casino enough for her to be offered free trips to Vegas and Atlantic City on a regular basis.
