Using Fake name for mail orders in the UK

I want to order on DNM and have seen all kinds of conflicting debate about using fake names. Most are related to US postal service regulations like that the mail man is REQUIRED to report fake name. I think I'd feel much better not having my name on an illegal package, anyone in the UK has an experience with this that they could share?

Whilst there's no advantage to using a "fake" name, there's no such thing as a fake name in the UK per sé. You're legally allowed to use any name you feel like for any purpose - with two exceptions:

To order using an alias is 100% legal under UK law, you have every right to do so -- however... Don't expect to be able to pull the whole "it's not me officer, look! Wrong name!" shit.

If they ask if it's your package, and you say "no", you'll be nicked for perverting the course of justice if/when they find out. If you answer yes they'll take you down to the station, and when taking your details (ie name) you must give them your "legally recognised" name (ie what's on all your official documents, passport, drivers licence etc), and point out that the name on your package was just an alias that you used. You don't need a reason to use an alias - it's your right to do so. At this point you'll be treated as if you'd just used your "real" name anyway...

So whilst in the UK you can, there's no reason to do so, it doesn't give you the protection you're hoping for. It's not a get out of jail free card, never has been, never will be.
