[PSA/Article] DNM profits donated to Nepal Relief charity (proof: blockchain, screenshot)

Last week I posted that I was donating all of my profits for the week to help the relief effort in Nepal after the devastating earthquake. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2015_Nepal_earthquake)

You can read the original post here, and my explanation of why I was publicly announcing my donation ahead of time, rather than doing it in secret like a more noble person would, here.

I wrote some high-and-mighty stuff; how this community ought to be better known for being a net positive on society, how buy buying/selling online we're keeping crime off the streets, and other such lofty back-patting. After having some time for reflection (and reading up on how bad the effects of the earthquake are) I decided to put my money where my mouth was, so to speak, and increase my donation to 25 BTC ($5,848 at the time of donation).

To be clear, this is MUCH more than a week of profits for me. I just want to help. And this is what I had the savings and means to do.

Maybe other vendors are doing this all of the time, only they're classy enough to keep quiet about it. I don't know. I just feel that being public about this donation will be a 'win' for our side, and maybe inspire other vendors/markets to be more forthcoming in their charity work as well.

Thanks for being a part of this with me,

Trip

Note - I'm writing this several days after the donation was made because I didn't want to risk my BTC address being flagged by bitpay and the funds withheld from the relief effort.

Good for you man!

[3 Points] shoelace120:

Well done sir. Very noble.

[2 Points] None:

That's awesome man, good for you! I sure hope nobody interferes with this, even post-donation it's still possible since there's a public record of it being dirty money.

[2 Points] Deafcunt:

You're everything a good vendor should be. Amazing.

[2 Points] hd3slyde:

notice no news source picks this up but they pick up any other bullshit reddit crap about darknet markets etc. good for you man, you did a noble thing.

[2 Points] None:

God bless you man, be easy ;)

Very cool thing to do.

[1 Points] None:

You are a great guy, I will be ordering from you when I order next.

[1 Points] MoonSugarMXE:

You're setting a wonderful and generous example of the oft-ignored fact that this community is made up of human beings who have genuine feelings and concerns and do pay attention to what is going on in the world - contrary to the common conception of the average "internet junkie" that seems to be the public perception. I hope maybe others will be inspired to folllow your example - I would in a heartbeat, if I could.

[1 Points] None:

Hell yea, outsiders look at us as criminals, selling each other poison to put in our veins, and they need more reminders that majority of us are good folk who enjoy our off time differently, and earn money in alternative ways, where no one gets hurt

[1 Points] gonzobon:

If you ever get caught (god forbid) this by itself will shave 5 years off your sentence.

[1 Points] CarlsPie:

Good to know that IF I DID do any sort of business with you, my HYPOTHETICAL funds would go to a good cause.

See what I did there.

[1 Points] None:

Publicity is bad for business like this.

[1 Points] ddiisscc00:

Thumbs up my friend!

[1 Points] ehrlichs_test:

Daamn who knew taking $120 worth of shrooms, sticking them in everclear and selling it for $280 would be so profitable, its like instead of people buying teabags their paying someone 3x to ship them a cup of it which may or may not be as strong as they like or even tea, like maybe its just lipton or some shit.
