OG OPSEC NEEDED - image upload tutorial

I don't feel comfortable uploading a photo from my iPhone to those popular anon sites and even the 'cloud' ..especially after I read this from slig...

'However, we do log the IP Address of each computer that uploads Media / Albums. This information is stored in case there is a report of illegal Media stored on our servers. We will remove all Media associated to the IP Address and ban that IP Address from being able to upload in the future.'

So I have a few questions plus whatever else you sharps care to add.

  1. Do I need to use a VPN to do this?
  2. What sites are actually legit?
  3. Do I need wipe EXIF data on my own regardless what these sites offer?

I have a nice Canon I plan on using and doing all from windows. Something about iphone just doesn't sound right, would you agree?

Thanks guys. I will be purchasing (2) 8GB USB sticks and doing a complete overhaul on my OPSEC. I'm not going to lie, I've basically been using windows/vpn/tor and 'tumbling' my coin from gambling sites which I know still isn't true tumbling. I've been keeping it simple since SR2 but it's time I step my game up. I made this post because I wanted to show the community REAL PHARMA xanax such as Dava, Greenstone, Pfizer, Purepac and Sandoz. I used to get these by the 500 count jars a few years ago but that connection burnt out a while ago. I have a mm ruler and all that and just want to use my very expensive canon SLR camera to take high res photos and even do some side comparisons to these 'presses' that go around. I'll be doing a quick write up on each brand/bar as well... I think some people are going to slightly surprised about the thickness of some of these true pharma bars.

EDIT: This new thread with photos will probably come on Tuesday or Wednesday. Should I post it here or over at the XanaxCartel?

Do I need to use a VPN to do this?

no, only the Tor browser or even better tails.

What sites are actually legit?

you should use sites that allow uploads from the Tor network obviously [that crosses out imgur.com for example]. furthermore it should not require javascript to view or upload the images and ideally not prompt captchas [like the annoying cloudflare ones] to the uploader or the viewer because it could be used to deanonymize them.

a nice bonus is when they offer a clearnet and hidden service address [so if you publish a review the reader can decide which one he wants to visit].

an example for such a site would be https://obscuredfiles.com/ [edit apparently they delete photos after one hour] however feel free to do some research on other sites on your own too.

Do I need wipe EXIF data on my own regardless what these sites offer?

absolutely. even if they would wipe the exif data [like some claim] they could always extract the exif data before removing it and store it as long as they like.

I strongly recommend to do it yourself and it is not even that hard. if you use tails it already comes with MAT [metadata anonymisation toolkit] so you do not have to install any new software.

what is it about windows that sounds righter than iphone to you? microsofts track record of caring about your privacy? not saying apple is any better

Install Tails, it's very easy and there's no valid excuse not to use it for dnm stuff imo. You are right in assuming that it's better to avoid using your iphone, so use your Canon and transfer the pics while using tails. Tails has a built in EXIF wiping program called MAT under applications->system tools (you can also just right click on the file and click clean metadata)

If you're super paranoid maybe you could edit the picture even just by resizing and cropping so that it might be harder to tell what type of camera took the picture.

sli.mg is the default site that we use now. They require scripts to be enabled when uploading though, so there may be a better site out there for dnm purposes
