[GeneralQuestions] Evo versus Agora to start a new vendor account as a small volume seller?

"I like the FedEx driver, because he's a drug dealer, and he don't even know it." -Mitch Hedberg

Greetings,

Long time listener, first time caller.

I was wondering which one of the above markets would be better for me to open a shop on. I'm reading various forums and am trying to come up with a list of pros and cons. I don't want to open on two marketplaces simultaneouslty since I'd be more of a boutique reseller of pharmaceuticals and can only get X amount of substance per month.

*Evo: seems to be up more with more admin presence, search bar works better, multisig

*Agora: seems to get more business, down every few weeks or so, not a lot of admin presence

I appreciate any advice you can bestow upon me.

"The club owner here hooks me up with drugs, like cocaine or pot brownies. But last time I was in town he gave me a drug for attention deficit disorder, because he's afflicted. But I'm not, so what happened to me was I suddenly had an extra-long attention span. People would be telling me a story, then the story would end and I'd get all mad and shit. "Come on man, there's gotta be more to that story!" - Mitch Hedberg

There's an admin presence, it's not like the site runs on autopilot. It's just that they're smart enough to stay silent on all but the most urgent emergencies; even the recent 24-hour downtime didn't merit a word from them. Agora has more of the big-time vendors. Their higher vendor bond (1.5 BTC vs 0.5 BTC for Evo) is designed to deter scammers and to get larger vendors who will turn into long-term players. The Agora vendor bond is fully refundable too.

Evolution has the better design and new vendors are forbidden from doing FE-only. Multisig is pretty meaningless though, you can ask any vendor, almost no one uses it. Evolution also probably has the bigger target on its back, because it's a free-for-all. It just made Brian Krebs' website today for people selling TurboTax accounts. And then there are the conspiracy theories about who runs Evolution... which I'm not going to get into.

If you have money for a vendor bond and a decent amount of stock and logistical comprehension just say fuck it and skip a free marketplace and sign up for Agora or Evolution. No point in having stock not moving and sitting on it longer than necessary.

The bond is returnable and you'll learn really god damn quickly if you're in the right line of work. It's kind of like when your drunk dad threw you in the lake to teach you to swim.

Or maybe I had a fucked up childhood and have a tendency to stick my dick in crazy and eat drug laced ham.

...

Running out of drugs is good. It's how you know you did a good job.

Open on Nucleus until you learn the ropes. Small market, but use your time here well on a Sunday and Wednesday to promote and you'll do ok.

One of two things will happen. You'll learn well without a hiccup and expand onto Evo, or you'll learn and fuck a few things up, then start afresh on Evo.

Evo is run by a self-professed scammer who previous ran a scamming forum that got hacked repeatedly. Buyer arent affected by this but id imagine being a vendor that would be unnerving, though they will let you pay them to remove bad feedback so you can fuck over customers and keep 100% rating.

Agora is AWOL alot of times because they do things right but it is a pain when something goes wrong, but they are the BTCFOG people which is still the oldest running unhacked btc-service in onionland.

Nucleus. Vendor accounts are free meaning you won't lose anything if you don't get any business. Once you've established a customer base and a good reputation, then move on to play with the big boys on agora and evo.

Evo, Agora has been way too unreliable as of late. If you go to Evo you should get just as many customers as you would on Agora.

Evo.

Especially, since you are new.

From a buyers perspective, Agora is so hard to find specific items.

Evo's search function is pretty damn great.
