Serious though, that's a fair setup. Tails usually suffices from what I've seen, although I'm not sure about its comparability with the VPN. I do agree a good bridge would be an added bonus.

I used TAILS and I think I remember a place to enter VPN creds was in the network settings in the upper right.

bridge is just a guard node with obfs, vpn on ddrwrt router is how you use vpn with tails.
I don't believe TAILS supports a VPN.
