I purchased and received several products, but the BTC was still in escrow when sites were seized. I received the products but the vendors didn't get their money. What should I do?

And I wasn't late about releasing escrow. The day I received the product was the day of the seizures. I went to log in to release escrow and leave feedback, and found the site was down, then I checked this sub where I found out about it. This happened for several open orders with a few different vendors. So I got the products; but they didn't get their money.

So my question is: Should I reach out to these vendors on the remaining DNMs? (They all have presences on other DNMs) Should I offer to pay like 50% of the escrow they lost, (I know that means I'd be out 150% the price of the products, but I have money, that's not an issue. I could even pay 100%.). Or should I assume they know that there's always the risk of losing escrow when something like Onymous happens?

I ask because I want to continue ordering from these specific vendors, as they've been excellent. But from their point of view I've now received their products for free. If I place another order with them, they may see the address (which they hopefully don't store) and recognize it as one they never received the money from, and I'd rather not draw attention to that.

Anyways, sorry for the long post. I mostly just feel bad for the vendors because they were always great to me, and I feel like I've stolen from them now, even though I did pay; the money just never got to them AFAIK.

I'm just looking for ideas/thoughts/opinions. Thanks in advance.

A buyer who offered the Grand Wizard partial repayment on escrow seized by the Feds would forever be a preferred customer at the Grand Wizard's Lair. Our cabana boys would bring them cocktails every time they entered while a string quartet played in the background. Well, maybe not but we'd be incredibly grateful and favorably disposed toward them going forward.

Seriously, you are a vendor's dream. Most buyers would assume the vendor gets the shaft. While there are some buyers who will seek out vendors in situations like this they are few and far between.

From now on you could use multisig, so even in case the market goes down, your vendor will still get his fund with some help from you.

You definitely seem more morally righteous then most would be about the situation. Message then on their respected markets. You say money isn't the problem. If you messaged them saying how they're always great and want to give 50%, would be a good way to get in their good books/keep positive relationship. I doubt they remember you anyways unless they recorded address.

Just consider FEing with trusted vendors.

If you have the ability to still compensate your vendors, do it. They won't be more appreciative, especially right now. Do that and you'll be almost certainly guaranteed to receive preferential treatment from your vendors for the rest of their careers.

I would do this. I think if you are financially able to, it's definitely a great gesture. Of course, this game is a risk on all sides, but it does suck when a vendor comes through and they lose their escrow b/c of shit like this. I'd say go for it if you are able to. If one were financially unable to I'd try to throw a little extra in on subsequent orders. I think this is especially true if the vendor offers reships on seized or lost packages.

Give them a holler, ask them what they'd have you do?

Business expense. But if you want to become they're favourite customer of all time and get some awesome feedback. You could ask them if they want to make a listing for you to pay someway to their costs.

Ultimately you're not at fault. You weren't late so them the breaks. All vendors know the risk. And should never have more in escrow than they can survive without.

Although as this was several markets I can imagine it can be crippling to some vendors on a Thursday. Hence if you are genuinely happy to pay even a fraction of the price I'm sure they would be very appreciative.

Just mention you still had the last payment in escrow when siezed and ask if they'd like a 50% back, since vendors often only offer 50% reships, how ever if the vendor offered 100% reship for lost package maybe give him 100% back? I don't have money like that but if I did I'd do the right thing, it sucks being scammed as a buyer, guessing vendors feel the same.
