What if you could get rid of your market email and communicate in real time? It is just a question. We are moving our new Encrypted chat service to Beta phase now. TorFire Chat is a chat service that will utilize your Pidgin Chat client on your Tails or any other Linux driven OS. Your connection to the server is encrypted and your conversation to your chat buddy is encrypted. Then you can even send normal GPG encrypted messages on top of that.
This service is free to sign up and free to use.
Using your Pidgin interface, you create an encryption certificate which will encrypt your buddy to buddy chats. This will get you an assigned fingerprint id which your buddies will authenticate for themselves to prove it is really you whom they are chatting with. A secondary verification is available on the TorFire Web support which allows you to register your GPG Key, your TorFire Fingerprint and even back up your certificate if you want. TorFire Web will take care of verifying your chat username and your identity using the GPG key which you provide. TorFire Web will send you an encrypted Pin Code using your registered GPG key, for you to de-encrypt and enter into the web form. Once you enter the correct pin code, then your status will be changed to Trusted and verified.
Chat users can refer to the web support and search your username to see what the "Trusted" status is before they authenticate the chat user themselves. Web support registration is not required. It is only a tool for users to help backup their identities and to add a Trusted layer to their anonymous communications.
