Safest way to schedule redelivery on USPS?

The mailman didn't deliver the package and didn't leave a notice either so after contacting the vendor he told me that the tracking says "no secure location avaiable" which is weird since I recieved other mail from usps on the same day. He sent me the tracking number but I don't want to access USPS from tor or my PC. So how can I access usps to schedule redelivery while still not flagging the package or giving away my real ip? Is using my phone on a public wifi and vpn a good idea? if so who's the most secure vpn on a phone

Just go to my.usps.com and reschedule for delivery and make sure to be there. Sometimes they won't drop it off if they think it'll get stolen.

I had one that updated to 'returned to sender' on myUSPS for some reason. I put a hold on it and they should be holding it @ my post office for me to pick up.

I asked the front desk lady at my PO about that one time when the same thing happened to me and she said that particular scan is basically just their standard catch-all for when they accidentally manage to not deliver your package somehow. All tracked packages are required to be scanned by the driver by the end of the day and if none of the other options fit, that's the one they use. Since they don't have an option for "package was forgotten by driver, will be delivered tomorrow," I'd bet what happened is your driver scanned your pack out for delivery and subsequently forgot to put it on the truck and then scanned it again once he got back to home base so he could clear out his shift and go home.

They should attempt to redeliver again regardless. You shouldn't have to specify for them to try again or anything like that, especially if its the first time the delivery was "missed." I'd be patient, give it a day or two and just make sure you are around. More than likely delivery wasn't even actually attempted - he probably misplaced it in hte truck or something and then when he realized it, he marked it as he did to make it seem like he tried to deliver it.
