Any early users of the dark net? What was it like compared to now?

I have been around since BTC was around $3 or 5 ish cant remember.

It has changed in a few ways.

1 More markets, before it was SR1 and BMR and BMR wasnt to great(at this time).

2 Stealth was def worse. I remember ordering 5 grams of MDMA from the uk and it came in an envelope 1 vac bag taped in a folded in a piece of paper. This was considered decent stealth back then. No mbbs or anything allthough a few vendors did go the extra mile and had decent techniques. Another order I did was some BTH back when I thought opiates were the greatest, it was still in the balloon no bag no vac bag no mbb and the guy sent it in a lemon heads box. So I ate the melted lemon heads till I got to the balloon.

3 Less scams although they were still around, exit scams of big vendors werent a huge thing yet. I think the biggest change of game was Tony76 and his massive exit scam. The same rule that no one seems to care about was still said all the time Never FE. Now I think there is a large base of guys who make their living off scams on the markets. Not that you can blame them, a couple guys exit scam for 50k and jump right back into selling like it was nothing. Buy a kilo of yayo sell it for a hundred a gram and the exit scam another 1/4-1/2 key, what a business model.

4 For me I liked DPR's philosophy and kinda fell into the whole change the world by buying drugs! Most drug users are against the war on the drugs and with his rhetoric really made you feel like you were apart of something. I still feel apart of something, it has always been a good community but being apart of the original SR in its hayday was a great feeling. It felt like it was more about a movement than about money, where now its strickly money. Who can blame them though when being busted entails the rest of your life in prison.

5 Less idiots, the markets have gotten bigger, more news reports and I think more idiots have joined. Although without gawker and the crying senator I would have missed the early days.

6 The feeling of invicibility has left, busts are all to common. I remember ordering a package and not even giving a shit about the cops, just that it didnt get lost or stolen or the vendor actually sent it.

7 Ordering from the NL was always taboo and considered a risk.

I have a bunch more but I am a bit tired of writing, hopefully some other guys have some stuff to add.

I felt invincible on SR1. Good ol DVD case with 150 pills in a baggie. That was considered good stealth haha. There were less vendors to choose from, less markets, but you didn't hear of as many exit scams then. Now it's become a free for all, and you're lucky to find a reliable vendor that doesn't disappear/scam within a year.

Back in the day there were no opsec guides, escrow, tor, bitcoin. Used clusty and safeorscam. Western union, no ID under 1000$. Great chinese vendors like hartark. Ah the good old days before the RC stim rush.

Well first of all, there were no public drug markets. These days are great!

Everything was easy. Used to get coins by depositing cash at the bank, all took 24 hours. Dont trust anyone enough to do that anymore

Stealth is by far the biggest change by far.

Easyier I had to research everything on my own on how to use these sites reading everything a vendor has on feedbacks now I go to Reddit and get a general idea easy as fuck
