The Feds have figured out how to stop the darknet markets...

After the take down of SR one thing became apparent to the agents working the case. Not only had they barely made a dent in any of the dealers but a whole new slew of markets were coming online. A meeting was done between the different Agencies and out of that meeting several conclusions were made the two biggest were. 1. They will never be able to stop the Darknet markets using conventional tactics. 2. A small secret task force of there best IT guys would be employed to spend there days finding vulnerabilities in each new market and exploiting them once the market was ripe.

So far this tactic has worked well. The Sheep Marketplace was successfully dismantled and now BMR was just finished off. Next 2 are SR2.0 & tormarketplace. But they will let them get situated and accrue large amounts of coin then strike each market causing fear and distrust among the users.

Its really quite a brilliant plan and its working.

They want headlines. Sheep crumbled internally and Backopy is just fucking smart in the way he deals with things. So I take it you are a fed? How are you privy to these meetings, tool?

So you're saying their strategy is to take people that are good with computers and employ them to stop illegal things done through computers?

Wow that is a revolutionary, brand new tactic.

Here is my take on this: You probably just lost a ton of coins to the SMP SCAM. This is an outlet for you to make yourself feel a little bit better about the situation, that is, that you "figured it out." Well sorry to say buddy, SR was taken down by the feds but Sheep was just a plain scam. There may be a "task force," however compared to the cartels and all other drug investigations at hand, this is an extremely small percentage of the black market trade. People like you cause mass paranoia and cause things major incidents that wind up gaining attention and ultimately the compromise of individuals or communities. These new ".i2p" markets are ushering the next era of online black markets which restarts the clock for the feds trying to access these websites. When Silk Road was shut down it was a big deal and gained quite a lot of attention from the media. As for SMP, it gained almost no attention from the media except online forums such as Reddit.

Elite task force? Dude, you watch to much tv.

The Feds took down SR. The admin took BMR off line after yet another hack. ALL the other marketplaces turned out to be scams.

That was the FEDs brilliant plan. Smash the market that was in Forbes every other month, and then let greed, distrust, and incompetence do all the hard work.

[2 Points] Loliita:

This sounds like a crazy conspiracy theory.

I just don't think this is likely. And there has never been any evidence to support that any Goverment has had part in any of these markets.

(SR. SM. Or BMR)

The admin(s) of SM stole the bitcoin. Not the FBI.

Tbh. The social implications of online blackmarkets actually take a lot of crime out of the drug trade.

Yes there is still crime. But not like street trading. It's safer. It's more secure.

YES it is still more secure than buying stuff from some guy who knows a guy who knows a guy etc.

Even loosing on SM is light compared to the risk with in person deals.

I think those in charge of the war on drugs can't possibly fail to notice that online black markets should not be their top priority as these are the least threat to public health and safety.

I completely agree. I've been following the darknet marketplace subject for about 6 months now. I've read countless articles, viewed marketplaces, and researched anything and everything pertaining to the current situation. I had a very similar theory last month. Though I did not make it public. I am not one to make an accusation that is solely based on speculation. Now I am not saying this is definitely what is happening but I believe the possibility is very strong. I am a new member to Reddit and consequently this subreddit. If anyone ever has any legal questions feel free to message me. I would be more than happy to help. I follow the law but give great advice to those who tip toe around it.
