I like the issues he tackles, but I hate this kind of humor.

The addiction with opioids are a bitch. I caught myself within 3 days of becoming an addict of the opioid rush it gave me. Luckily I escaped the withdrawals by using my marijuana stash.

We're not allowed to like John Oliver? Please internet strangers, tell me what I can and can't like! I have no thoughts or feelings of my own, I am only the collective!

I don't really have any beef with Oliver over this segment. I think if you make a choice to take opioids or heroin then fair do's, but that's not the problem. When a Doctor gives you an opioid for an injury or pain that can easily be solved with a less hardcore drug is when a problem occurs. To me, that's as fucked up as when dealers lace heroin with fentanyl. You're giving people who have no real perspective on drugs, a highly addictive one and telling them to take it everyday-- that's pretty messed up, man.
Hence why the legalization of all drugs will quell this problem, I bet more than half the involuntary opioid addicts would've had their pain lessened easily through drugs such as cannabis and kratom rather than shit like tramadol.
