Chase bank is going to start requiring ID for cash deposits

If you want to deposit money into an account that's not your own, like to buy Bitcoins, you'll have to have an ID. I wonder if all banks are going to start doing this. Won't change much for me I don't think, but there it is.

Bitcoin is not illegal.

does this really change anything? I typically go Chase->Coinbase-> blockchain wallet not associated with my name -> market

The one in my city already is, which I discovered last week when trying to make a LBC deposit. I guess the workaround would be to deposit a money order instead of cash.

I was just in a Chase and saw the sign announcing this. They had a bunch of little signs next to each teller window. I don't use services that require these kinds of deposits anymore, but I was thinking to myself how much this is going to screw people over.

looks like the demand for fake ids on DN will go up xD

This has nothing to do with bitcoin, drug cartels have been doing structured deposits using large teams of people and they are trying to track who is doing it.
