A Public Service Announcement from the Mods

Community,

I know we've suffered a major attack and blow to the things we hold dear. This is part of the game. There is risk. We can never be complacent. We need to stop being fucking lazy and taking the proper measures to protect ourselves. I say this out of concern for all of you b/c the shit we do here is serious.

For those who have been around a while know that I've been around quite a while as well. I've modded on this sub for years. I want the community to know that the mod team we have assembled have also been around for years. They were picked for their contributions to the community. Here's the deal: Modding this sub draws scrutinity to that person. We want the best mods we can get and the ones who take OPSEC seriously are often only willing to mod under an alt. Just b/c the account may be new does not mean the person is new. We don't mod people on the main sub who haven't been around for a while.

Because I haven't changed alts, this is a continuity that should be apparent. For whatever reason, I haven't changed alts myself, but at least I hope you'd know that given that, the standards we have for the mods are high and we expect the most out of them. The mod team are not just random people picked. They have been contributing members of the community who were willing to lend their particular expertise to the sub under the condition that they could do so under an alt. We are willing to do that so we can get the best people.

We have a fantastic group of people modding this place. The way the "Pearl Harbor" attacks were handled here by those present (I can take no credit as I was gone) was admirable and they did a great job sifting through the FUD and calming nerves as best as can be. Keep in mind that we always seem to have more work than mods.

This is just a post from all of us telling you that we are here and we are a group of people who have participated in this community for years.

~Econ

-Rules should be enforced then, for everyone -Discussions of concern for things about any current markets should not be labled FUD -Bias such as stickying threads for certain members and not others should stop

Last time I will rant since I realize its on deaf ears, just think these are basic mod expectations

[8 Points] ForLol_Serious:

It must take alot of energy to flair every single post. And I know you do that shit on purpose just to piss me off.

Where is Anonymous when we really need them!

[6 Points] EnigmaMarket:

Just a reminder the original plan for the FBI was to make AlphaBay look like an exit scam, which is what they communicated to the Dutch authorities. They knew it would do more damage than simply taking down the market like has already been done countless times.

The Tor community will route around the failures.

I'd play Pearl Harbour with you Econ.

I lay back and you blow the hell out of me

[3 Points] DareToHope:

I agree, the current mod team did very well during one of the "larger" crisis during this community. Hats off to them because I bet it was multitudes more hectic since the sub is almost at 150k readers.

I think you should "retire" and "hire" your replacement, but they'd need a catchy name. how about, Desnake02, I think it's available XD

Thanks for everything you guys do,

I would hope the mods are neutral towards any given markets available to buyers and allow users to make informed decisions.

Their was, at least in my opinion, some favouritism towards Hansa and a seeming dislike for AB among some of the mods. As people who MAY themselves have had some experience using these markets, it would be natural to have personal bias towards a particular DNM but seems unprofessional on their part to let that bias rear it's head here.

I still look up to the mods, they being much more experienced in these matters and more tech savvy than myself. I value their input and that's a big draw to this sub, but they should behave in a neutral manner and not steer newer users to markets they favour. Allow people to do their own homework and make informed decisions about where to go now.

Glad your back onboard Econ, missed you! Hope you're feeling better.

This is VERY IMPORTANT, someone please post this as a new threat, as I'm a new user, reddit doesn't allow me to make new post. It can save many vendors' life

I looked into the loctime xlsx file. it's basic a zip file containing many plain text xml files, you can change the file name from .xlsx to .zip and open with your zip viewer. I looked into the xml files one by one and guess what I find, the IP address of the hansa server.

in folder xl/drawing/_rels

<Relationship Id="rId5" Type="http://schemas.openxmlformats.org/officeDocument/2006/relationships/image" Target="http://217.182.159.33:9998/img/xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx/logo/logo.png" TargetMode="External"/><Relationship Id="rId6" Target="/xl/media/image2.png" Type="http://schemas.openxmlformats.org/officeDocument/2006/relationships/image" /> the "xxxxx" is a long generated unique code, I guess each vendor has a unique one, this way when you open the xlsx file, excel send request to the IPv4 IP address for the image and they know your IP address without Tor protection. That's why they said they were able to get IP addresses of users

When you try to open the IP address, it shows exact the same image as hansa's onion domain

If you ever opened the file without IP address protection, you are fucked, your real IP address is leaked! clear your house ASAP

One more thing to say, athough there's this beacon image, but there's no hidden malware or macro VB code in the file, maco code can not be saved into a xlsx file, it can only be saved into a xls, xlsm and slxb file, so you don't need to worry about malware

I can't believe people still get bent out of shape about alt accounts for mods. What part of OPSEC do they not understand?

This forum was the main slice of cheese to get the rats sniffing around for more food.

I mean everything in detail down to colour of people's socks is explained here for the whole world to view in plain sight.

Talk about being discreet what's the point of the onion if all the users and vendors blab there dealings in the open LOL smh.

I call this forum 'snitchville' not darknet because you are all clear as day.

2017 - people now snitching on themselves live on the internet while they buy a bag smack of a dealer who moves 100k a month logged on a site for the world to see.

You fools brought this on yourselves

[1 Points] Ripdre:

Hey everyone, -new here. What were the Pearl Harbor attacks (on this sub of course)?

[1 Points] DextroShade:

I have been a part of the community since SR1 and this bust has been the worst one yet. We need a better market, one that is based in a country like Bolivia or somewhere else that has told the DEA to go fuck themselves. We need to make Monero as easy to acquire and use as bitcoin. We need to hold buyers and vendors to a higher standard: if you are too fucking dumb to use PGP you are too dumb to use the market. We can do better!
