My Coinbase.com account was revoked after donating BTC to /u/gwern. After receiving Coinbase's compliance department violation of ToU e-mail, I couldn't log into my account at all and received error messages as if the account didn't exist anymore. I thought it was deleted!
Today, I received an e-mail from contact@coinbase.com that said:
We are happy to let you know that a new USD wallet has been enabled for you! .... You can now also access Coinbase Exchange and begin trading bitcoin on the open market.
Sure enough, I enter my old account credentials, log in and all my info is there (including old transactions) like I never left. I can do everything like I could before.
But why don't they mention that they reviewed my case and lifted the ban? They just send me an e-mail stating that I have an account ready for me? And it's my exact same account with all of my old transactions? What the hell...I feel like it's not very professional and a little fishy.
What do you guys think?
The new usd wallet means your state now allows coinbase to operate as an exchange. It's a separate wallet that is still hooked to your main account. My guess is when they gave the new wallets it it somehow unbanned your account.
