[Serious] Is this a CD or is my tinfoil hat on too tight?

Background: I have 2 packages that were supposed to be delivered on the same day. One package is regular and the other is not and both packages were sent via priority mail. I got a pink slip saying that there were no secure locations available for the regular package but I didn't get a slip for my darknet package which was the first red flag because the mailbox was empty and my mailman has been able to fit 2 priority boxes in my mailbox in the past. The next day I get another pink slip saying the same thing, but this time it's for my darknet package. Fast foward 2 days and I get a call from somebody claiming to be the supervisor for my local USPS office. (The number that called me was not the same number of my local USPS office) He wants me to come in tomorrow to pick up the packages and wants me to sign for them. (He only mentioned signing for my regular package) This is another red flag because I have never had to sign for something when it was either being delivered or when I had to pick it up at the post office. (Both slips DID NOT have the box checked saying I have to be present to sign at the time of delivery. I have already cleaned my house and have taken other precautions. Any thoughts? Thanks.

Odd that they called, but I'm paranoid as it is. If you have a clean house, I mean really fuckin' spotless, I'd waltz up in there to get my mail like every other red blooded 'Murican. If the shit hits the fan, deny, deny, play dumb as fuck and deny. What are drugs? People actually send that in the mail? It's not mine. I have enemies in my past that would set me up like this. Probably the work of a disgruntled ex-lover. I have nothing else to say without the presence of legal council. See where I'm going with this. Maybe it's nothing and if you don't go, that'll set off alarms. Either way, hope for the best, but, prepare for any mother fuckin' thing.

P.S- I'm just some interweb stranger so don't take my word for it. I wish you good luck.

le is not going to lure someone to a post office to get owned when they could just own you @localhost bra - looks like they know where you live, no mystery - this would be a reverse controlled delivery.

what medium did they call you on? cell phone? voip/house?

What throws me off the most is that the "supervisor" is calling you. Probably something stupid or a fuck up

It's a CD mate.

I have experience with CD's and I hate to be the paranoid one, but I can say that is 99% chance a CD. I would call back over the phone and schedule a re-delivery. Before you do that though, clean your fucking house harder than you've ever cleaned before. Expect the CD to come to you even if you do nothing and the postmaster returns to sender. Expect the worst, I think you're about to get pushed around by LE. Also get a lawyer now. If the cops raid your house and search and find nothing, you say NOTHING, you will actually come out of this ok. Do anything to the contrary and you are fucked. tl;dr clean your fucking house, get a lawyer, schedule delivery to come to you, tell them you are on vacation for the next month and your house-sitter will be receiving the package for you.

One last bit of advice, if you do get the package, wait a minute before you open it. Let it sit for a few days and mark it return to sender. Leave it by your door. Cops love to watch and wait to build a case, if they feel nothing is happening they may escalate. I've seen them let someone receive a package and make the no-knock raid 24 hours later to find the package by the door marked return to sender and they couldn't do shit after ripping said recipients apartment apart. I've also seen it go the opposite way where recipients apartment is full of drug paraphernalia, drugs, and recipient was caught tracking the package on his home computer red-handed. You can easily guess the latter did not turn out well.

that's why you always keep a bird in the hand. My douche bag father is involved in a huge grow operation and we hate each other vehemently. If anything every happened to me, I'd say, oh yeah, that's probably from my douche bag father who lives in Northern California and has a huge grow operation. He used to try and give me drugs in high school, too.

Sounds like a CD. Most of the time the agents pretend to be postal workers and camp out at the post office.

[2 Points] LostSomewhereInSpace:

Definitely never heard of the post office calling to get a package, but MDMangel's advice is probably pretty solid.

[2 Points] mtspirate:

Don't deny, best advice is to say nothing. They can use anything you say against you, and they will.

[2 Points] DNMTiger:

Never had pink slips or a call but one time a vendor did me an express mail and forgot to waive signature no one was home so had to go to the post office to get it didnt even dign the slip just handed it to them and walked out w the package like everyone else in line, ive also had to call up and check on packs multiple times when they delivered to the wrong addresses (my usps office sucks) its scary but act normal and not freaked out and u should be fine but the call is weird just feel out the situation

[2 Points] FecalPostingNutsack:

I'd call the 800 number and tell them you think someone is trying to scam you, see what they say. Think about it, if you were just a regular customer and got a weird call, what would you do?

And to think...I used to wear my tinfoil hat on my dick. Like a condom but for masturbation. But for real, this sounds fishy as all hell.

[1 Points] stickykitty1:

Did you ask them to redeliver? Call them back and ask them to, see what they say? So you're saying they should be able to fit at least one of the packages in your mailbox? If so, ask them to redeliver it. If they won't ask why not? if you get a legit reason, wait a few days (if it's just personal use amounts), then call and ask if you can come get it in a few days, then go later that same day.

DON'T SIGN ANYTHING. DENY DENY DENY

[1 Points] actualdnmuser:

Coming from a non paranoid view I could see this as just them being a fuck up. Supervisor using that because maybe so,etching went wrong with the normal delivery guy. Ie maybe they believe it to be broken, obviously not for certain. But I say, go with your gut.

[1 Points] kiffkeith:

Phone the number again. Ask if the post office opens as usual until <insert two hours later than usual opening times> next thursday.
