New wave stealth - opinions.

Lead foil is readily available but not used presently (or at least not advertised as so). Does anyone think this would prevent customs seeing the contents of a parcel or arouse their suspicions? Customs use very low level X-rays to screen parcels, and humans to interpret the results in the main. Would lead make them do extra checks or less? Discuss.

it'd be suspicious as fuck AND you know, lead poisoning.

[2 Points] Vendor_BBMC:

Yes. They would say "why is this envelope opaque to x-rays, and as heavy as lead?"That sticky-sided lead sheet is usually used to wrap around plastic bottles which will be used for liquids which are gamma-emmitters, and for the under-side of fibreglass gloveboxes in the nuclear industry.

Its very expensive, but quite cool. You can just about cut it with scissors.

Ok so I'm not an expert on x-ray but your point is they wouldn't be able to see in the package, right? Well, I imagine that'd make them suspicious. If you get some zealot who actually cares what people send to one another wouldn't he think "hmm, why can't I see in this parcel? What are they trying to hide?" If stealth is good enough, then it's kind of unnecessary. We're all proof that you can get drugs through the post with relative ease.

Plus the weight would be ridiculous. Have you ever worn one of those lead coats when someone else is having an x-ray? That shit is heavy, it made my fucking shoulders and neck ache! I don't think you could pass the parcel off as a box of sweets on the customs label.

Someone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. My knowledge of radiation is approximately zero.

I am pretty sure if you have one lead package out of a thousand, it will be looked into.

Rock foil is where it is at.

Yea. Foil. Made out of rocks.

Lead foil wouldn't prevent customs from seeing what's inside. It would be kind of like buying thin curtains for your window. People could still easily see inside your house, just not as clearly.
