What does marked "Shipped" mean to you?

What do you hope/expect "Shipped" to mean? Just package prepared, or in the hands of USPS?

I know there are some vendors for whom marked shipped simply means shipping label created but not getting sent until tomorrow where as for others it means the package is in postal control.

Thoughts?

First move is to read the vendors profile and see when they ship. If they DO NOT mention when they ship, I assume it is weekdays only. If the order is marked shipped during the week, I assume it is out of the vendors control. Put in a blue box, whatever. That DOES NOT automatically mean that USPS has it.

If the order is marked shipped on the weekend, I assume the package will go out on monday.

I want it to mean "your package has already gone out or will go out the next day USPS is alive."

If it's marked shipped that motherfucker best be shipped that day or I leave negative feedback

When I mark shipped, I make a list of all the packs for the day and stop at a time. Then all packs I instant marked shipped get packed up and dropped out the same night it was ordered, Ive found this to be the best way..other vendors may marked shipped and not actually ship for days, which is usually the case. But that makes my job a full-time thing, handling it that fast.

I hope it to mean shipping today, tmo at latest. Expectations vary depending on vendor. Honestly markets really ought to have an "order accepted/ acknowledged" button that is a step before "shipped," as Nucleus did.

Most markets don't have the interface necessary for shipped to mean anything other than order accepted/postage made.

In my case it generally means that the package has left my hands and is in the hands of the USPS. It may not get picked up from the big blue box until the next morning or Monday morning but it's in the hands of the USPS. Also, keep in mind that since I don't mark shipped until I get back online after the drop sometimes the pack has actually been out for 24-48 before I can update.

Please keep in mind that this isn't Amazon or eBay, we can't (or at least shouldn't!) check our orders on the fly while out at the grocery or dinner. We need to go to a different location each day (or just go to the San Fran Library?) to log on and even have to cut sessions short at times if someone comes in and starts chatting us up.

While none of this is a huge issue it is an integral part of my (and hopefully other vendors also) regime and opsec logistics and I (and every other vendor) will do my best to get your pack out as quick as is safely possible. If shipping speed is more important to you than opsec I suggest you either change your drug of choice (no more meth or horse for you!) or you look into ordering from that list that our good friend Craig compiles.

Stay Safe GPJ

I assume shipped means the package will be dropped in the blue box sometime that day. Normally these are picked up the next day.

Order Monday night --> Packed up and dropped in blue box Tuesday (shipped) --> Post office recieves pack Wednesday --> 2 days later on Friday it should touch down.

Sometimes things take longer though for multiple reasons. The vendor can be slow to pack it up. The blue box might not get picked up daily. Sometimes USPS takes 3-4 days. I always assume itll take a week and plan accordingly.

We can assure you most vendors mark it shipped as soon as they write down your address to send it to, because they want the funds released as soon as possible. Not too cool.

I don't put much value in it other than "yup, we are working on it".

Even if it was a reliable indicator it was in the hands of the postal service, that still doesn't let me know much shrugs

Packed up, ready for dropping off at a pickup box. Not nessisarily shipped, but ready to be shipped IMO.

[1 Points] DNMTiger:

To me it should mean that it is dropped off in the blue box but sadly it does not

[1 Points] DooshNozzzle:

I'm an FE vendor, so it means I just got PAID, BITCH! Just kidding. To me it also means your pack will be shipped in the next zero to 48 hours.

[1 Points] ATribeCalledCheckAHo:

It should mean it's in transit but it can merely mean the shipping label was created

[1 Points] ReneeDeVillefort:

Shipped or will ship within next 48 hours. My current go to vendor only marks it shipped on the day he will send it. I had one asshat mark it shipped, lied when I asked him, and then it showed up two weeks later. I know he lied because of the postmark date.

To me it means:

We packaged your product, its ready to be mailed now or tonight.

[1 Points] topknotch89:

To me it means they clicked the shipped button. Nothing more these mfs don't ship when they say they do.

I don't worry about it.

Calm down kiddo.
