I'm currently having a debate on the maximum purity possible of MDMA. I've been under the impression that the highest that you can get is 84%-86% purity, but my friend contends that above 90% is possible. He also says that a low purity content is due to the addition of a "rocking agent". I said that's bullshit and sounds like a marketing gimmick to lend validity to the term "moon rocks". Furthermore I contend that the term "moon rocks" was a term dedicated to methylone and use of the term got out of hand when people either assumed or were given incorrect information about what they were taking. I think that this may be where some of our confusion comes from as well. "Moon rocks" was never a term until about 2, maybe 3, years ago and it's confusing as fuck. I hate methylone, I don't want to take that shit. It makes my muscles hurt and doesn't last nearly as long as some good ole MDMA and anytime I hear "moon rocks" I tell the person to take a fucking hike, so I need to get my facts straight here. Is there anyone who has some insight that can help me out? Please provide sources if you have them as well.
*Edit: Up votes for everybody. Thank you all so much!
MDMA is an oil without a "rocking agent" That agent is HCl. The 13% missing is approximately the molar mass of the hydrogen chloride so you are correct.
MDMA's molar mass is 193 g/mol HCl's molar mass is 36 g/mol
