OpSec Questions (answers much appreciated)

  1. As far as VPNs go...are they necessary? I'd like to cover all my bases. And if so, which one would you recommend using? I don't mind paying a bit, but if there are free ones that will get the job done, great.

  2. My circle account was deactivated by Circle.. what does this mean and am I potentially being watched more closely?

  3. Finally, would you recommend using Localbitcoins or Bitquick.co? I need to get roughly $650 in Bitcoins, trying to figure out how to acquire them without flagging myself.

  4. Should I be using reddit over the tor network? I've read that you're not supposed to post anything online that you wouldn't want used on you in an open courtroom...so how do I anonymously browse/post to reddit?

Thank you all for your help, wouldn't be able to do this without all of y'all.

  1. Some think they are, some don't. This will be personal opinion and it's an opinion of mine that they're necessary. I even use them for clearnet purposes as well. Never use a "free" VPN, they sell your data or do other fishy shit with it. Mullvad is a good option.

  2. Have you ever transferred straight from Circle into a DNM wallet? If so that's probably why. It's not the smartest idea but you should be fine, just make sure not to do it again.

  3. I've only ever used Localbitcoins myself so that would be my recommendation.

  4. If you're going to be talking about making orders or reviewing products then yes it's a good idea to use Tor. Make sure you create the account from Tor as well, don't do it over the clearnet.

Fair warning: Unlike other marketplaces, we monitor our users for illegal activity very closely, and take KYC/AML very seriously.

I've only been using mors code for the past few weeks and it's been going great. No one knows mors code anymore. Also, if you dig deep enough in the ground, bitcoin comes out, so you can mine your coin that way and it'll be anonyblmous.
I usually order directly from reddit also, so that the nra can't cispa my gwern. If you use a vpn, make sure you're wearing rubber shoes with a tin foil hat, so that the federal analog act won't apply to your deportation processing opsec po-box. If there is ever money it's in the ndma-stand

Edit: Removed a word as a bot was flagging it as suspicious, it's the TLD of hidden services.

  1. DO NOT USE A VPN, unless your ISP or government will not allow you to use TOR. (Basically, do you live in china or Iran?)

  2. Circle will deactivate your account if you transfer to a darknet market address and will ignore simple transactions around your wallet. Consider laundering (1-3% cost and 0-6 hours time delay) to at least 5 destinations addresses then to DNM or at least 3 local wallet transactions.

  3. Afraid I can't answer this I use bitcoin ATMs.

  4. Do everything you can do over tor. I recommend you install TAILS and use that as much as possible. There are two reasons for this

    • You want to have a legit exxcuse for your TOR and TAILS usage should the question arise.
    • The amount of data retention and duration is worrying for any internet user. CISA, and even the UK will now retain a "full internat history/metadata" for users for up to 2 years - JESUS H. CHRIST! That enough is a good reason to ALWAYS use tails and tor.

I do about 80% of my broswering via Tor (only porn is clearnet because it's not fair to tax the network to look at Gianna Michaels suck off a black guy). About 40% of the Tor browsing is via Tails. (Even, facebook has a hidden service address now).

10% is via my normal browser this is only when I am fully giving up anonymity (logging into banking account, ebay, amazon...).

Remember if the page isn't HTTPS secured it's liable to be altered and ANYONE could do it if you use Tor. But even if you're not using Tor your ISP, some cunt who hacks your wifi a dick at your local Starbucks could fuck with your connection.
