Alt Cryptocurrencies?

So with Circle discontinuing with Bitcoin it kinda messed up the way a lot of people used to go, but since theres many other currencies (Including Monero which AB accepts) Wouldn't it be easier for everyone to switch over to an alternative online currency with easier access than Bitcoin?

I'd be interested in what you thought would be easier or more popular than bitcoin.

Not really. I support using more than one cryptocurrency. However Bitcoin remains the easiest cryptocurrency to access with the most developed infrastructure. It is not ideal at all for illegal trade, but neither is any other cryptocurrency option. Circle has no direct impact on me but it would still be good to see an similar alternative started.

Altcoins have to stop being cocky and start respecting the position of bitcoin. Altcoins can better focus on creating a service to enhance bitcoin for now.

Nav Coin for example uses double blockchain tech to disconnect sender and receiver. Now nav coin is not used a lot (yet) and very volatile. But they are building their anon tech into the back-end of Changelly. This will enable instant exchanging with anon tech in between. So you can exchange 25+ cryptos while making them anon. For example btc -> eth or just btc -> btc to make it anon. Taking the place of tumblers.

For Nav Coin this means extra usage of the anon system and for the server operators it means generating fees. So that's will make a win-win situation.

It's all open source and decentralized as well to provide verifiable anonymizing.

The problem with switching over would be the voltality (pump and dumps). Bitcoin already being extremely volatile, I can't imagine what the price charts would look like if everyone dumped their Bitcoin and went with something else like Dash, Zcash, etc; especially since there really isn't any capital cushion for the other alt currencies compared to the cushion Bitcoin has. It would literally look like a blueprint to a rollercoaster.

The only other crypto coming close to the accessibility levels bitcoin has is Ethereum, which has it's own set of problems that I'd say are much worse than btc. Ethereum's level of accessibility isn't even close to where btc is and gives us no advantage. It will be a while before we could ever do away with bitcoin, if ever, nothing else will ever be as ubiquitous in crypto as Bitcoin is now.
