Anybody else deal with something like this? Just confused as to why I wouldn't get a tracking number if it was actually shipped.
Vendor says they'll ship early, mark as shipped two days ago but say I won't get a tracking code until next week?

That is basically standard practice on the darkweb. Almost no vendor will give you the tracking number, at least not initially, or until it has had the normal amt of time to arrive for the method shipped. The thinking is that it could be used to find out where the vendor is shipping from (sooner, since honestly that is impossible to hide, because when the order does arrive the same tracking number is going to be on it, so they are going to be abl to check where it was shipped from in the first place, it is impossible to hide where you ship a package/mail from) and start to track the identity of the vendor from there. Honestly, I think its more paranoia then any actual legit opsec since I am pretty sure it doesnt actually provide any additional security for a vendor. BUt its just what every vendor has done, since forever, and so every new vendor does it, and so on and so forth. So it may not actually provide any real improved opsec, but thats why vendors will not usually give you the tracking number (unless there is a problem, or for some duration of time, whatever). I have an international order I get where the guy wont give me the tracking number until its out of his country and in mine. Which atleast makes some sense, because I guess he figures he is home free if its no longer in his country.

Because of the pitfalls of buyers checking tracking, it's customary for vendors to withhold the tracking unless/until the buyer contacts the vendor with concerns about a delay.

Why do people insist on getting a tracking number? Just order your product and wait.

That's perfectly normal. Vendors are reluctant to give out tracking until after a certain period.

How does receiving a tracking number from the vendor differ from just checking myusps? Or is using myusps an unwise decision?
From what I heard, more people checking tracking could raise flags.
Ive heard that its better opsec to not check tracking at all if its not needed.
