Game changer: "CoinParty is a new p2p mixing protocol that builds on CoinShuffle by using threshold sigs, producing normal P2PKH txs instead of CoinJoins"

https://np.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/3o0vv2/kristov_atlas_coinparty_is_a_new_p2p_mixing/

This is a big deal. I've been salivating over the CoinShuffle concept for a long time, now, and this makes heavy improvements to that idea and also lays out a concrete design for its implementation.

Although there doesn't seem to be any code released, yet (damn), once there is (and after a little testing), this will (theoretically) be leaps and bounds better than any tumbler/mixer - cheaper, safer, more anonymous, and maybe even easier.

Working code could still be a while out, but this is definitely a high-priority goal for a lot of smart people (not enough of them seem to be writing code, though, unfortunately), and if you have any skills to contribute to an implementation of CoinParty (anything from encouraging words and publicity, to translations, to web hosting, to organizing a mailing list, to funding a bounty, to - of course - coding, etc.), I wholeheartedly encourage you to get involved.

This is big. Let's make it happen.

Until there's some code written for CoinParty, we do have JoinMarket which already has working code.

Good idea. p2p coin mixing. That took me a second to wrap my brain around. Nice one. I hope this pans out.

/r/JoinMarket new milestone reached: topped 2000 BTC in liquidity AFAIK today: http://bitcoin-p2pool.com/joinmarket_orderbook.html
That's amazing to me, close to 50 people are pooling their coins together for anyone to mix with, in a truly decentralized fashion: BTC are always under your control and only the one invoking the mixing can traces the coins -- unlike in operator-run servers.
