HOW is using a drop place safe?

t's say you card and buy stuff from Amazon or a shopping mall and ship it to a drop location(empty house/vacant house). If the owner of the card finds out something is wrong, he is going to call the bank and try to cancel the order. even if they cannot cancel the order because the package is already shipped, if the bank contacts the police, police will get the shipping address(drop address)and they can wait there until the package arrives and catch you when you pick up the package. so HOW is drop place even safe in the first place? It is only safe when the owner of the card doesn't check his banking account for 3days and report to the bank or police after the package actually arrives, but this is hard since it takes 1~2 days to process the order and ship the item. the owner of the card can find out about the fraudulent transaction within a day and start getting things ready.

You really think most police departments have the manpower/overtime budget to leave at least one officer sitting and monitoring outside a drop house 24/7 until someone comes along to pick up the package?

Also, stop thinking about committing fraud and get a fucking job.

I can speak to your fear of the police acquiring the information and setting up a sting... A couple years ago, I happened to check my statement online and notice a fraudulent order from walmart.com for nearly $900 that had posted less than 24 hours earlier. I immediately called walmart and after a bit of arguing, was able to get the address for the order (at first they refused, saying they were trying to protect my privacy by refusing to tell me where "my" order was to be shipped). I then called my bank and reported the charges, then filed a police report.

When the cop came and took my report, he told me flat out that they would be getting away with it. The address was in a whole different state, their departments don't communicate, they don't have the resources, etc., etc..

Theres just not enough incentive for them to invest in such a sting. For all they know that address could be a drop, who knows when the person will pick it up... the man hours of watching and waiting and investigating, all for less than a grand worth of shit that's already been refunded to me by my bank.

Anyway, I'm not a fan of drops myself for other reasons, I just wanted to share my experience that's sort-of from a different angle.

TLDR; cops don't care enough/have the resources to devote to such an operation.
