[GeneralQuestions] How does shipping with tracking (and signature) work?

I understand that you get a tracking number and now you can see where you package is. But what if you are never home when the mail comes? Would it be a bad idea to order with a required signature if I won't be home to sign for it?

I don't know why I feel sketched out by signing for a package, but it just worries me. However, it seems like a good way to make sure a vendor sends the package if you have to FE. Just curious about the general opinion on the topic.

Reddit hivemind says to never sign for a package.

If you need to sign and aren't home they will either leave it or leave a note for re delivery. Just sign the note and put in your mailbox, front door.

Soooo many people aren't home for signature. Depends if the mailman trusts you or you live in a safe neighborhood.

If you get mail in a mailroom, easily left. If you get in a box maybe, maybe not. Up to the person delivering your mail.
