I would like to apologize for making this post so late. I have been very busy planning for the holidays. The next ThisWeekonDNM will be posted on 01/3/2015. This is because I want to get back to the old schedule and if I post one this Saturday I am afraid it will be too short.
If I could I would begin posting this every late Tuesday night but that would not work with my upcoming schedule. So after 01/3/2015 ThisWeekonDNM will continue every late Saturday Night.
Thanks! Hope you enjoy!
This post is a mix of everything popular that has happened since my last post. I am going to have all the top posts from this week and have a brief summary of them. I am going to have two sections for each post:
First will be what the OP said and sometimes it will have some commentary from me.
Underneath that will be what users have said in the comment section.
I got caught. Life is in ruins. Dont be stupid in 3rd world countries.
Three people decide to order some weed of off DNMs, they arrive at the post office to pick up their parcel. one person goes inside to receive it, and when he steps outside of the post office all hell breaks loose... He was arrested, taken to a room and was harshly interrogated until he talked. He is facing up to 1 year in prison and he will most likely not be able to graduate because school wants to kick him.

- "You fucked up. You admitted to it. They wouldn't have shit if you didn't." - /u/BlueShadesTM
OP responded back saying: "This would be correct in western world. Judges have much more initiative here. We were put in different rooms and i was the last one to break fyi."
In case you're wondering OP lives in "TRNC, de facto country"
"Leave. I don't believe TRNC has an extradition agreement with UK. It's only recognized by Turkey. Don't sit around and wait for this 3rd world 'justice system' to have its way with you. Flee and pick your life back up somewhere else and this will be nothing but a bad memory." - /u/thewq11
"So fucked up. Life ruined because of a plant." - /u/Lv16
Tor exit nodes compromised, operator warns
The operator has a PGP signed messaged explaining why he thinks its compromised. "the chassis of the servers was opened and an unknown USB device was plugged in only 30-60 seconds before the connection was broken. From experience I know this trend of activity is similar to the protocol of sophisticated law enforcement who carry out a search and seizure of running servers."
He advises to "exercise extreme caution and treat even any items delivered over TLS to be potentially hostile."

"Hm... concerning, but I'm not sure it applies to us exactly. Visiting a hidden service doesn't traverse an exit node but it sucks that somebody is attacking tor." - /u/iLoveDNM
"Update from arma (Roger Dingledine, Tor Project leader) No, this is an exit relay operator, not a directory authority operator. Also, this particular fellow has had a series of run-ins with British law enforcement. This run-in is far from his first (and won't be his last either probably). " - /u/catcher749
Silk Road prosecutors want to ban Ross Ulbricht's libertarian politics in court
"Prosecutors in the case against alleged Silk Road mastermind Ross Ulbricht want the court to prohibit Ulbricht from saying almost anything political at all.
They're worried that the jury might end up sympathizing with Ulbricht's politics.
U.S. attorney Preet Bharara believes that Ulbricht's defense team wants to bring up his "views concerning the propriety of U.S. or international drug laws or the propriety of government regulation of individual conduct or commerce on the Internet" in order to convince the jury to excuse his alleged criminal behavior.

"Jury Nullification is probably his best shot of getting out of this, which is probably why they want him silent on the subject." - /u/bizude
We're promoting Jury Nullification in NYC before, during and after Ross Ulbricht's trial.
A couple of long time jury right activists are running a month-long phone kiosk and pamphleting campaign in Lower Manhattan next week to encourage jurors to vote not guilty in victimless crimes cases.
OP explains jury nullification: "Jury nullification is when jurors in a criminal trial vote "not guilty" despite the fact that they believe the defendant is guilty. They may do this because they disagree with the law or how it is being applied or for any reason at all." Full comment here

- "As a law student, I was amazed when I heard of this in my civil procedure class. A final true check on tyranny, the power in the hands of the people. The fact they purposely keep it under wraps and there's no right to a jury instruction on nullification is mildly alarming." - /u/Crough
Possible upcoming attempts to disable the Tor network
"The Tor Project has learned that there may be an attempt to incapacitate our network in the next few days through the seizure of specialized servers in the network called directory authorities. (Directory authorities help Tor clients learn the list of relays that make up the Tor network.) We are taking steps now to ensure the safety of our users, and our system is already built to be redundant so that users maintain anonymity even if the network is attacked. Tor remains safe to use."

"I hope that it DOES occur, because that's that's the only way that 'dark' seems to be able push forward. Any weakness should be exposed and attacked, only to deliver more robust technology. Why the hell is this stuff still based on single servers, while Freenet figured a way out of that a decade ago? Sure, it's slow, but it works." - /u/buckethead--
"Every vulnerability needs to be exploited for progress to be made. Lets say that it does happen and the TOR network is disabled, it wont be the end of the DNM's. Far from it. It will bounce back stronger." - /u/torr0t
Texas Business Executive Sentenced To Prison For Illegally Selling Oxycodone On Silk Road
Matthew Jones, a/k/a "Caligirl," "Dynamite2k," "Dynamite," "Tyler Zeddai," and "Mateo Jones" was working as the Chief Technology Officer for a software consulting company in Dallas, he operated as the vendor "Caligirl" on the Silk Road drug marketplace.
Beginning on July 11, 2013, through March 20, 2014, Drug Enforcement Administration agents purchased and seized more than 400 Oxycodone tablets and more than 900 Hydrocodone tablets from Jones. My DNM addiction at the age of 16-18
"To anyone who's considering using the DNM to deal.. there really is no stopping. It's definitely more addictive than the drugs themselves."
This story is too intriguing to summarize, worth a read.

A guy is claiming to sell the cure for HIV in EVO forums.
"Taking advantage of desperate people with HIV is the new scam going around at evolution forums. Some users are going to help looking for infected people for the vendor to send them some free samples, that will improve their situation, but not completely - here's the catch - and then they will be able to purchase the full treatment."
