[Community Discussion] multisig a must for future stability

It probably goes with out saying, or at least I hope, multisig is an absolute must if DNM will prove successful over the long term. With the fall of EVO, we as a community need to realize that the temptation for an exit scam is too great. TMP had it right, multisig us a must, it keeps markets honest. Admittedly it is a pain in the ass, but so was pgp. Learn the technology and insist on it. Exit scams will become a thing of the past, at least at the market level. The longer we continue to choose convenience over best practice, the more millions will be stolen. How many times are vendors willing to loose 10's of thousands before they give up on this whole idea.

Boycott centralized escrow markets!

Is there like an ELI5 version of multi-sig? I looked over in /r/darknetmarketsnoobs but I didn't see anything. I see so much about why you should use multi-sig and not how

This is definitely something that should be done and enforced. Marketplaces must do this, and it's a shame that so many people don't know how to multi-sig. But yes... this should be definitely a must-have for any marketplace now. We need to do more too... not just that. We need to eliminate any measure of a marketplace deciding to pull the plug at any time....

I feel like a moron. I left a solid amount of bitcoins in my evo wallet for days and didn't withdraw cause I was waiting for a vendor to have listings up again. I feel stupid. But I feel worse for the vendors that got really screwed by these thieves.... I always knew something was off with this fucking market.... it seemed too "normal".... and it's emphasis on carding (admins are hacker/cardsters themselves) I feel like an idiot....

Sad day for /r/darknetmarkets :'( Sad day for humanity...

Wrong. NO escrow is a must for future stability.

Multi-sig can easily be worked around by smart coding.

As this person stated, it's the market, not the vendor that we should worry about. Avoiding being scammed by a vendor is easy with research and building trust, and when it happens we can warn others and help to avoid it. But when a market scams, everyone is affected and the end result is much more consequential.

Getting rid of every escrow system gets rid of the problem. Weigh out the pros and cons yourself and I'm sure you'll agree.

Time for another three months of TMP spam.

Fucking hell, even evo the scam site had multi-sig support if you wanted to use it and could find a vendor that would bother.

This would be a nice moment to make a recap of all the coments on this subreddit stating that multisig "is not worth it"
