I'm torn when it comes to Ross Ulbricht. He was like us. Just wanted a way to avoid government oversight and create a market for commerce. He really did lay the framework for what we now take for granted.

Unfortunately, being what it was at the time, the great unknown got the best of him and many mistakes were made. Still its hard to say if it was him making the stupid decision to put hits on people. If it was then I can't bring myself to care for him. Herein lies the problem; he was duped many times into trusting people that wound up to be crooked LE. These people were the admins with him and also helped him to orchestrate hits on people(that were never actually meant to happen). LE even went as far as making these hits look real by contacting the people and making a 'crime scene' to send proof to Ross. These same crooked bastards ended up laundering bitcoin during the investigation while helping run Silk road with Ross. They were sure that Ross was the sole perpetrator of all these acts but I can't help but feel that he was coerced or atleast led to believe these were the right moves, which would make LE partly to blame.

American Greed did a show on Ross which explains it fairly well and there is still plenty of confusion but at the end of the day he was caught red-handed running Silk road in a San Francisco coffee shop from his laptop. I'm rooting for him but the truth will never be clear.

Sad. I hope he gets a re-trial with a judge that may let him see the light of day again! :-(
