Hey /r/DarkNetMarkets, it is time for Moronic Monday!
Post your questions here - stupid or otherwise - to get an answer. Anyone can post a question and the community as a whole is invited and encouraged to provide an answer. Many questions get submitted late each week that don't get a lot of action, so if your question didn't get answered before, feel free to post it again.
If you are a noob, check out our comprehensive FAQ; it is essentially a guide for buying from a DarkNet Market. You may also find it helpful to take a look at our informative community posts, which are full of valuable information and tips.
We do ask that you refrain from abusing noobs in this thread. Remember that everyone had to start somewhere.
Also, please refrain from asking sourcing questions or vendor recommendations in this thread. Those posts will be removed.
P.S. Check out /r/DarkNetMarketsNoobs, where it is Moronic Monday everyday!
Maybe its a moronic question, but somebody should ask it:-
Are you starting an exit scam, alphabay? The wallet structure was changed last week, which often heralds an exit scam. The new wallets aren't grouped as "alphabay" in wallet explorer, so I've been keeping an eye out expecting withdrawal issues from alphabay.
Its one year since the last carders' market exit scammed, and 11 months since alphabay became finacially active on the blockchain.
Sure enough, the alphabay sub is full of people asking if anybody else has had success withdrawing bitcoin from alphabay. Deposits are still working, so that final checkbox of "one-way valve wallets" is ticked.
Anybody from alphabay is free to refute that they are at the outset of an exit scam. Hell, if somebody wants to promise us that alphabay will never steal from us, I will trade there myself!
I promise BBMC will never steal anybody's bitcoin.
See? Easy! Your turn now, alphabay....
I'll wait over here for as long as it takes. If we are living in a world where stealing is so routine and expected that its considered impolite to ask about it, nobody told me. If alphabay's attitude is "come on. we all knew what this was", like we have some unspoken understanding that "of course we are going to exit scam. we are carding fraudsters. stealing untraceable cryptocurrency from drug dealers who can't complain is MILES easier" - we don't take that for granted.
So either give your word that you will "do an agora" and shut down honorably when the time comes, or say "We will rob you all, but there are many months of safe trading before then". Alphabay may feel a bit lost for words and awkward if they are exit scamming imminently, but who cares? They deserve it.
