So this is a weird thing. I always hear, "LSD is LSD is LSD". And it seems to be posted by people who seem to know what they are talking about. But now I'm starting to have my doubts and believe that there really are different "levels" of LSD. OR LSD degrades into a dirty shit drug when stored for long times.
A long time ago, I got some berkley silver tabs from and old, beloved source. When they first arrived, they were very nice. I wrapped them up and set in a jar and was very happy. Over the course of 2-3 years, I noticed that the body load was getting really intense and the trips got very uncomfortable. I'm talking about an intense burning when I pee'd and extreme vasoconstriction along with a ton of pain. So I got rid of the tabs. and got the bernie TT tabs. It was night and day. I felt so good and light through the whole trip. No pain, no hypertension, no burning kidneys and pee. It was amazing.
So my question is, when LSD is stored for a long time, is it possible that something happens to it that makes it shittier? I remember the silver tabs were advertised and not as pure so they were cheaper and the TT tabs are advertised as very pure. Is it possible that its not just marketing?
LSD is by far and away about set and setting, and people really are unaware of how much so. The body load and issues you had on your berkeley silvers were just a manifestation of your headspace - I'd imagine it has something to do with you thinking 'oh man these are old tabs', but it could be because of any number of issues.
No. I don't believe that the degradation of LSD is anywhere close to as it's made out to be. It degrades compared to most chemicals out there at a chemistry level, on a practical level, no.
This marketing probably has a lot to do with why you might have had a much more positive set in regards to your TT trips.
There is no evidence that any of the byproducts produced during an LSD synth are psychoactive, and evidence that it actually won't. I think it was Shulgin who ate grams of iso-LSD and the like to prove this point.
I would imagine I've done more L than most and I'm of the 'L is L is L' school of thought. I used to think there was a difference, until I realized just how much of an impact set and setting are.
The vibes you are around, the people, the music, the mind set you are in, the addictions you may have, and especially the overall health of your mind and body at the time, have a HUGE impact on your trip.
