Is there anything I can do about a package marked delivered but never showed?

My USPS app showed tracking almost an hour after ordering which is awesome, but it marked delivered on Monday and hasn't arrived since. Called post office and they of course gave me no new info. Can't imagine this was stolen as the mail is inside and locked or it goes to the front desk. It wasn't at either places

I'm really frustrated at the thought of someone stealing it though. I knew sometimes they'll put it outside the locked mail box because of laziness or something. Obviously I don't want a police report filed. Anything I can do at all?

In the he said she said thing that happens if you open a dispute the vendor clearly wins if the tracking say delivered. You could explain the story but imagine being a vendor and think of what you would do. Now think about all the people who get free shit from amazon by saying the pack was empty. Would you give yourself a refund? I'm a vendor and depending on how big the pack was I might refund you, but I'm also nicer than most and therefore easy to scam. I bet someone stole it, it got delivered to the wrong address, or the mailman kinda lost it somewhere in their truck. Good luck!

you may notice your tracking records what was delivered to your zip-code and not your exact drop...easy to send a pack of whatever the fuck to wherever in your zip code and buyer will lose the dispute every time

That sucks man, but that is cool you manned up and paid the vendor their due instead of opening a dispute, if you confirmed it was in fact delivered to the correct address.

Sorry about the loss though man, that sucks donkey dick.

If you have a pack on the way why live in a place where a third party will handle your mail ? I'd want the mail to be delivered into my own mail box with no front desk in the way. Probably a good idea to get a PO Box if the pack never shows but do ask the post office if the gps location of the delivery matches up, they can track it down to that level of detail.

I have had this happen to me and I somewhat suspect that someone along the mail's chain of custody knew what to look for and knew they could nab certain packages and are reasonably likely to get away with it. Or there are neighbors or room mates who have sticky fingers.

I have also had a friend in real life try to mail cannabis (edibles I think it was, not darknet related) to one of their friends in a different state. Same thing happened. The tracking said the package was delivered but the recipient did not receive it. Again I think it's possible that someone on the far end was lying but in this circumstance I think it improbable.

You can find news stories about USPS employees getting caught stealing drugs and cash from packages in the mail stream so these things do happen sometimes.

Had this happen twice. Once I recovered it, once I didn't.

The problem both times was that the vendor used priority stamps instead of electronic postage, and when they use stamps the USPS has to affix a barcode to the back that's encoded with your address on it. Both times, they fucked up the address on the barcode, and it was misdelivered to the wrong address.

See if you can get with the vendor and a) confirm the address is was sent to. Then, if you have some balls, take the tracking # down to the post office, and have them pull up the address that it was actually delivered to. One of my packs was returned to sender (burned drop) after bouncing around from one sorting center to the next. The other was delivered to an address very close to mine, I scouted out the house, realized it was a younger couple, explained the situation, and turns out they had my unopened back sitting on the kitchen counter. Easy breezy.

The PO should be able to enter the tracking # and see where it was actually delivered to. That's your best bet. PM me if you want more info. Good luck!
