Risky shipping countries?

I've noticed that many vendors don't offer reships when it comes to scandinavian countries (especially Finland) - some refuse to ship there altogether. Is there a good reason for this? Are customs more strict or something?

Mainly Scandinavian countries, Australia, Canada and Brazil. Big red flags.

I grew up in Australia, left years ago, it doesn’t share any land borders and is so pedantic about introducing foreign flora and fauna that could upset their eco system they scrutinized everything.

I’m in S.E Asia and when ever I send a gift to a relative the box has been open and checked.

Australia has all the cool X-ray machines, testing kits and beagles to help detect what’s coming in.

New Zealand is tough too for the same reason.

Oh Russia is a tough on too, I see vendors not offering shipping there quite a bit.
