Vendor Refund Issues

I'm having some issues with a well known vendor and I was hoping by making a thread I'd get some attention / support for my side of the argument.

Basically, the vendor refunded me MOST of my coins claiming that refunds are based on the $ price of the purchase rather than the quantity of BTC or any other fluctuating currency.

Where this becomes a problem is that with the "recent" increase in BTC price the vendor is pocketing the difference ~.3BTC (~$100) between my initial purchase and the current $ value.

To be clear, if the value of BTC had fallen I wouldn't expect more BTC to be equivalent to my original purchase price so in the same way I feel entitled to the full amount of coins I originally spent even if it is more than the original $ value.

Obviously I'm not standing for this and intend to leave a negative feedback but I'd like to get some other opinions on this since I don't think I am being unreasonable here.

You didn't pay dollars, you paid bitcoin. All calculations should be based on bitcoin. If yen had fallen more than dollars, would it be fair for the vendor to refund you in yen?

I guess it depends on the the reason for the refund, but if a full refund was due, I'd report the vendor to the market and post bad reviews on the market and reddit.

If you had those bitoins in your possession, they be worth the bitcoin value, not the dollar value. So he is trying to make a profit off of your deposit money.
