Anybody tried Modafinil? List your experience please

What do you use for? How long does it last? Does it boost your concentration/studying skills? Thanks.

(I'm looking to buy from Angelina at AB.)

It works as advertised. I've taken 200mg in the morning when I got piss all for sleep. It doesn't make you high, there is no 'speedy' feeling, in fact there are really no noticeable effects at all - other than the fact that you feel alert and awake.

There is one thing to keep in mind, mixing a healthy dose of caffeine with it can have a quirky result. You may find yourself becoming a little 'mouthy', a subtle change to your inhibitions that will have you casually saying things you would have normally held back - and immediately realizing it too.

Arnodafinil (an analogue) works exactly the same, and at a slightly lower dosage.

Eh, I really didn't notice much in the way of cognitive boost. I mean, I didn't do any serious testing or anything, but after a lifetime of dealing with food allergies I am fairly good at self diagnostics.

I use armandofil to help study, and on nightshifts if im tired. Checkout: https://www.modafinilcat.com i've used them before and was all good.

I'm currently on Modafinil, I take it every day and have taken it on and off since late 2012. The longest period probably was 5 months on a cycling dose of 75-100mg (1 day off every 2 days). But now I take 100-200mg every single day to balance out the side effects from tapering down from kpins. I have a sta

It increases my reaction time, attention span and cognition quite significantly. Similar to a stimulant like Speed/Adderall but not as strong, it doesn't make me feel wired or on edge. I usually pop it right after waking up and it keeps me fully awake until 8-12 hours later depending on the dose. Normally I get tired or fatigued around 6-8pm, but this never happens on Modafinil. Although there is no need for coffee on Modafinil, I do drink a espresso in the morning if I only take 100mg. If you mix 200mg with coffee it makes you unpleasantly jittery.

I also see it as a "standby" drug. You don't really notice the effects once you get used to them during long term use. But it gives you the extra "kick" of energy, attention or reaction time when you need it. It becomes like an after booster for your mind. I used to be a bike messenger, and modafinil has helped me avoid so many accidents it isn't even funny. At that time I was the person with the best delivery rates as well.

Note: If fatigue has been an issue in your life Modafinil can do wonders. If you are already an active person you might not notice very strong or any significant effects. It's also possible to be a non-responder and get no effects whatsoever from modafinil due to genetics ("RS4680")

I've been taking about 25mg a day for about a month and it keeps me awake and alert all day. I've found more than 25mg for me keeps me up at night, your mileage may vary. I've tried other stimulants but they tweek me out and I can't stop redosing until it's gone, but I don't have that problem with Modafinil as long as I stay at a low dose.

It feels like a cup of coffee or two, its mild as fuck. Haven't tried large amounts. take if you need a pick-me-up, but not really for partying.

Modafinil is an interesting drug. Taken it on and off since 2013.

First few times I tried it, I had some great sustained motivation throughout the day, felt fairly good doing productive work but not that "euphoria" associated with the dopaminergic ADHD drugs used commonly (some form of amphetamine/ritalin).

Over a sustained period of use, the positive effects diminished while negative effects became more apparent. I feel I did not achieve as deep sleep as usual when using it for sustained periods (long half life so accumulates). Furthermore, I felt that I needed it to study and it was very difficult on days I didn;t use modafinil to study (also felt very groggy and tired on those days)

I would recommend it as a "cleaner" and more gentle study drug (compared to ritalin/adderal/dexamphet etc.) but it can be easy to begin using habitually (due to cost and availability). If you can limit yourself to occasional use, then I think its a great study drug!

Sometimes it helps but I'll tell you about my experience Wednesday through Saturday. I've been drinking a tonne of coffee lately and without thinking continued to do so while double dunking 200mg tablets when nessecary. Very minimal sleep and really bad anxiety. Night after my test I still couldn't sleep, punched a cone and shit got triiiiiiiipy. Spent the weeknd fixing my sleep schedule + gym sucked. My first bad experience with it and i m going to stop caffeine for a bit. Did it a bit last year tho and it did help with assignments

I used r-modafinil to study for some easier exams when I couldn't get adderall or didn't need adderall. I was happy with the result. I would take 1.5 pills which I think is 300 mg (6'2" 215lbs). It gave me good focus, not nearly as good as adderall 30mg but definitely the closest thing too it that I found. At $1 a pill definitely worth it.

As others have said you don't get the same rush/high as adderall, but still would recommend.

Check out /u/gwern's page at gwern.net. He has a fucking library of Modafinil data. Even listts a bunch of reliable vendors.

You need to take a certain amount before it affects you, but when it does, you'll be up. It makes you not tired. It's interesting because it's not like caffeine that makes you full of energy. It just makes you not tired and it also makes you want to dig deeper into things than you ever would before. I used it and setup some awesome linux server installs, worked out some big problems that had taken me weeks prior to it.

I took it 100mg and found it did help with my concentration. My mind didn't wonder that much and although the worl I was doing was boring I didn't really find it a problem doing work.

Another time I took 200mg at once and suffered the worst anxiety I've ever experienced. I am not an anxious person but I found the higher dose to be an awful experience, spent 7 hours in front of the computer without doing any work just panicking. Had to just accept the fact I wasn't getting any work done and go home, take a tramadol chill out. Once I had calmed down I went back and worked and it went well.

Since then I have lowered the dose to 50mg and find this useful although headaches quite common.

One thing I have noticed it can be quite limiting on creativity.

I have a friend who uses it weekly to study for hours in a row and still retain the information. You can also use it to stay up for 72 hours and barely notice.

[1 Points] dandydaniels:

It's very mild but it works. I'd say get Adrafinil from a clearnet vendor, it's turned into modafinil in the liver, and it's easy and legal to get. I've been into Nootropics for a while to help with my ADD, and Adrafinil, 10mg Noopept, 150mg L-Theanine, and 500mg Choline Bitatrate help my focus a LOT. I've tried Modafinil and never really noticed much, but adrafinil I do. Everyone's body is different though. Just google nootropics, goto /r/nootropics and do a little research. Eventually you'll find the stack that works for you, if that's what you're looking for. If you're looking for another Adderall type substance, you're in for a letdown

[1 Points] dandydaniels:

I also have a 5 gram bottle of Tianpeptine that they sent me for a sample, which I found it is a light opiod, like tramadol, so I haven't touched it since i'm replacement therapy, so it would prob make Tianeptine useless.

12 hour cup of coffee, id be a worthless lump of jelly without them.
