DNM Conspiracy Theory

Inspired by insomnia and this Thread http://www.reddit.com/r/DarkNetMarkets/comments/25cmt7/leaderboard/

I have come up with a conspiracy theory supported by a small amount of Inconclusive evidence and a statistic I made up myself.

49% of all DNM listings are fake.

Most of us have seen listings or complete vendor accounts that just don't make sense for example An Agora account I don't seem able to find today that had 30 different pills listed with descriptions copy pasted straight from A medical webpage. and stock photos All the prices were set at 9999999 BTC and the user had not logged on for months.

Here's two examples I just found with a quick Grams serch.

The Probable scam account that wasn't removed SR2

has been a vendor for 6 months was last seen: 3 months ago

feedback

5 of 5 Never arrived, no communication and now I see they seem not to have been on the site for some time, very dodgy 47 days

5 of 5 Got them quick, not feeling the effect yet but it may take awhile, anyway that's why I bought 30 of' 57 days 1 of 5 SCAMMERS!!!! SCAMMERS!!!! SCAMMERS!!! THEY SHIP ENOUGH ORDERS TO GET FEEDBACK SO THEY CAN RIP PEOPLE OFF. WHY TAKE THE RISK, YOUR ORDER WONT ARRIVE. SCAMMERS!!! 58 days 5 of 5 fantastic service and shipping time 59 days

The here one day gone the next account EVO

The conspiracy is that DNM admin create fake listings and refuse to remove scam accounts and old accounts to make their markets appear larger than they are.

While I agree it is annoying that DNMs don't auto-hide inactive vendor profiles (this should be a relatively simple feature to implement), I do understand that inexperienced users my value these metrics due to lack of experience. It most certainly puts an admin's market ahead of other 'better' choices in a list in a noob's eyes. More is always better right?

As always you can stay safe by following these steps:

  1. Never FE for anything

  2. ???

  3. Profit or go to the moon and don't forget to tell people know how the NOT FE'ing went.

  4. Hint: 99.9999999% of the time they should tell you they got drugs or they got their money back.

Another cool thing we can kind of of see happening and I hope continues are the separation of drug markets. Places like the Cannabis Road or the Majestic Garden are providing specialized markets with the backing of KNOWN and RESPECTED vendors within their product category. It will be interesting to see if other drug categories can separate themselves like this.

Analogy: I don't shop at wal-mart (silkroad) for things. I enjoy going to separate stores for the expertise and diverse options (CR for weed, TMG for psychs) where I know I'm getting good vendors and products.

TMG doesn't have escrow options, but they are a collection of truly respected vendors. Never FE if you can't risk the money even if you are working with a trusted partner. A healthy (ab)user should be using disposable income for drugs anyways.

If something is wrong with this post I blame the drugs.
