Alphabay skimming from large withdrawals, confirmed

I would like to start by saying that I am always quick to give Alphabay the benefit of the doubt. I think they do a great job considering the massive amount of transactions that go through their site every day.

However, I just withdrew about 1200 dollars using the "Send a single transaction" option. When the coins showed up it was NOT short by the 0.001 BTC they have listed on the balance page. It was 0.007 BTC short. They took an extra six dollars!

Now, is it a big deal? No, not really. But this needs to be acknowledged and explained, I have seen other people make similar claims and now I know first hand that they were telling the truth.

So, Alphabay, what's up? If it's just fees for the tumbler that's fine, but some more transparency is needed on this.

They do all sorts of that shit, kinda like how they undervalue BTC prices relative to the market or absorbing the remaining 0.0000xxxx that wasn't included in your withdrawal... Cost of doing business I suppose. They're moving towards the Comcast/Verizon model of simulatenously providing a highly demanded service (and doing it well) while never wasting an opportunity to actively fuck their customers.

Dude that's like a whole big mac meal from McDonald's that you're never gonna be able to enjoy

You're a vendor right?

Don't they take a 2-3% fee out of your sales income? Or does that come out automatically when the btc gets finalized to you for each order.. idk, just a thought

maybe BTC transaction fee?

Not sure how they work with the markets and would be interested in finding out.

I can confirm the OP is correct. I did a $1,000 withdrawal and they took out 0.0088 BTC ($9) instead of 0.001 BTC. I think it is just the miner fee. Alphabay deals with a lot of small transactions in their mixer so maybe those fees add up.

idk. I pay some crazy fees to get bitcoin moved around these days. most of you probably dont deal with $2k+ transactions, but if you want them done quick, it can be $10-20 easy.

I think it's a reflection of btc network fees. and they want the deposits to go out quick. or else people bug out and talk shit on reddit.

Sounds like it was just the minimum to get your BTC out quickly.

[1 Points] crushdudes:

How much of that was the mining fee?

Surely you can add all of this up yourself by looking at the transaction.

You do know you are buying drugs on a illegal marketplace from criminals right?! It doesn't surprise me in the slightest I almost expect it. It's the price I'm glad to pay for access to substances I wouldn't normally have access too.
