So I finally found a place where they have libertyx! It's a bit far, 30 minutes to be exact but I had no problem making the trek, especially hearing about all the great things about libertyx and I was kind of over using localbitcoins, which is a pain in the ass to find the right dealer with the right price at the right time.
It was one of those ghetto gas station place. I went in there and asked for qpay for libertyx for $200. "Sure thing", the clerk told me, but then shortly after he told me, "with the 10% processing fee, your total is $220."
"What the heck?", I thought to myself then asked the clerk, "I thought there were no fees with libertyx."
The clerk quickly replied, "Yeah, it used to be that way but libertyx has been under scrutiny for avoiding taxes and they now require it for all transactions."
My BS meter went off the scale. Last time I checked libertyx doesn't charge anything until a certain amount (I think around $500? But I haven't bought that much yet, but even then, it's way under 10%!)
I wanted to call the clerk out on fees he wasn't supposed to charge, but I already drove 30min to get there and I needed the BTC so I said fuck it and paid the extra $20.
Now here's my dilemma. I want to report the store to libertyx for charging additional fees they aren't suppose to charge but I'm kind of worried that if I did report them, the only store in my radius might discontinue using libertyx since they don't really make any money off of proving libertyx's services.
So should I report them or should I just keep paying the "10% fee required by libertyx" since they are the only one near my area that offers that service? Coming from localbitcoins, I would be lucky to find a dealer that charges 10%. Most dealers on LBC charge around 12-14%, which is way too much. 10% is as about as far as I would pay for libertyx though. Anything higher, it won't be worth it to me.
Also, what happens when you report to libertyx about store charging additional fees they aren't suppose to charge? What does libertyx exactly do?
I know the stores don't get commision or any compensation for offering libertyx, so I don't think it's THAT big of a deal, but this is my first time using libertyx and I would like to get some advice to how to properly go about this.
Thanks
tl;dr: The only place around my area that offers libertyx charges 10% fee that they claim is required by libertyx, even though the official libertyx website firmly states that there shouldn't be any additional fee when purchasing the qpay and ask to promptly report to them for any stores that charges additional fees. Should I report them or would that jeoporadize the only libertyx offered near my area?
It's bullshit. Vendors don't make anything from LibertyX transactions so a lot of places won't even do it for you, but the ones that I've encountered generally charge $5-$10 or 5-10%. You should have refused to pay it but I understand your position having already driven a long way.
