OPSEC Regrets & Advice Thread

I thought it would be beneficial to everyone if we itemized and amalgamated the OPSEC mistakes that are now causing us to peer out our windows like blitzed crackheads. I'll start things off:

In the spirit of education and discussion, here is what I've done since the shit hit the fan:

Any criticism of my own personal actions are very welcome. And like I said please share any other advice or grievances you all have. This is a game of cat and mouse and we have to have each other's backs if we're to reclaim the upper hand.

inb4 all the "burn house, move to belize" comments

On another note, im sure you will be fine. Like a lot of people have already said, if they are after anyone its vendors and big buyers as big buyers are usually vendors/dealers. Learn from your mistakes. People freaked out when this happened to SR1, SR2, Sheep etc etc and 99% of people were fine. There is probably thousands of people in the same boat as you right now. All the best brother

You know what you need to do? Seriously. Step outside. Take a walk. Go out. Realize that Most people don't know or care what happened

Read some news. Every article is blasting Jeff Sessions out of the water over some Russia shit. No mention of this bust.

People in politics do things for money and power. No one gave a shit. The war on drugs is ending cause it was bullshit and most know it.

Relax. You cleaned up. If you choose to continue, do a better job.

And do not post in here looking for sympathy. You are only exposing yourself more by confessing all your sins.

Absolve me of my DNM sins! I too used the same password for multiple sites and have sent currency directly from exchanges to markets in the past. Never again!

Everything related to DNM goes on a separate computer that has a strong full disk encryption password for Linux and gets turned off when not in use.

I like the idea of this thread. Lets see. I also used the same user name on some markets. I wish I had used different pgp keys. Bright side I never used market encryption.

I read in the bible not to use a vpn with tor on Tails. Whatsup with that?

[1 Points] TheBattlefieldFan:

I removed any traces of any tor software from my computers.

This one may belong to the fail and regret part later.

Next step is prepare. Go to store.. Get lube and maybe some thread to sew the asshole up.

It's only a few felonies. Good luck. Remember.... Carry cash so you can order ramen

[1 Points] dnmcardboss:

wow how do u make so many careless mistakes? seriously people this is your life you are risking when u order. all of you that ar worried right now most likely should be becasue there is so much poor "opsec". please start to do your research and if you have never get lazy or complainant.

THB with you i think you are goingto be just fine, it sounds like you ordered personal amounts. Only BIG fish that fucked up(sure theres a few dummys) need to really take precaution. like that post in r/durgs lmao.

personally, I am not worried at all. the only opsec flaw i made was using the same user/pass for my buyer account on hansa, but i never order there thankfully. Sure i diddnt even make the cut... proper opsec pays off. stay safe, good luck

[1 Points] dasdatthrowaway:

how do u nuke an exchange account?? tell them it was opened fraudulently?

[1 Points] DNMTiger:

"I bought some pills the day before the bottom dropped out of Hansa. The PGP key did not have an email attached, only a name. And the name was just the username of the vendor account. In all my dozens of order, that has only been the case maybe twice. I'm very nervous this was a modified PGP key."

I noticed this with a vendor i normally use and its not the same but , he sent a privnote and his writing was identical to how it normally is idk if he made a new one after all this or what but its the same way w no email, how can u check the owner where people were seeing "dutch police" and shit like that

[1 Points] wombat2combat:

I didn't use tails. However, I'm not that worried about this one since I have full disk encryption on all my computers and they're GNU/Linux.

you need tails. seriously. please read this https://www.reddit.com/r/DarkNetMarketsNoobs/wiki/bible/buyer/tails#wiki_is_tails_necessary.3F and this https://www.reddit.com/r/DarkNetMarketsNoobs/wiki/bible/buyer/tails#wiki_do_i_need_a_vpn.3F setting stails up is fairly easy and really worth it.

[1 Points] satans_spinach:

if anything good comes of this, it will be better OPSEC from vendors, buyers and markets.

I bet you didnt use Monero... 2 of my mates poped up because they didnt use monery and their tumbled btc traced back to them... I use xmr and packet forward and had 0 issues.

In a few words add.. USE MONERO in your list.

To save your coins look into deleting your exchange (jesus who the fuck send money to dnm from an exchange) and moving everything to a cold monero wallet.

Be safe.
