I want everyone's opinions on whether I should go ahead and place the orders on alphabay or set up a new account on a different market. Can't really afford to lose this coin. Thanks.
About to put in a relatively large order and worried about all this alphabay talk.

To give a clear explanation on the situation, the Bitcoin fees sent by the server were not enough, so some vendors had withdrawals that take long to confirm (some are still unconfirmed). Deposit are fine, though.
As a buyer, you are not touched by the issue. It is only a small number of sellers who have withdrawals correctly sent, but with insufficient miner fees so it takes around 24 hours for the funds to reach the first confirmation on the blockchain. Issue was fixed after the first reports.

You're asking on a subreddit that's filled with new anti-alphabay FUD nearly every day (Yea the withdrawal problem was real but supposedly fixed now.) so you're probably going to get the majority opinion that you should stay away.
Anyhow, no-one here is responsible for your money so you should make the decision on whether to use AB or not. Opinions aren't going to save you.

If you have doubts about a large order about to be paid for with coins you cannot afford to lose, be patient and wait it out man. I really doubt that it's worth it when factoring in the risk of the situation.

relatively large order
Relative to what?

ab has been fine for me, but confirmations are going slow just sleep on it and your shit will appear in the morning 99.9% of the time

You will be fine, the people who have problems with the site are more than likely experiencing a rare issue or using bad links. Also, if you pgp 2fa your account it greatly enhances your security. Just tumble on in and carry on.

cant you do a few smaller orders instead? i dont like the idea of leaving yourself in a huge hole because one pack goes missng or is delayed for a month.
Try to reduce your risk in all parts of the process, not just your market choice.

I'd recommend finding the vendor on another market, or if it's someone you have dealt with why not ask for a direct deal? Just my 2 cents.
This forum is fucking ridiculous with the fud about AB ive been depositing and ordering shit all week.
