TMP vendor here, Multisig is failing

I vend on TMP and another centralized escrow site for 4 months now, i dont want to say what i vend but its fairly popular and theres not too much competition. I got onto TMP after all the markets began crashing but still decided to get onto the other centralized site just because i couldnt put all my eggs together. At first i was getting about the same amount of orders through both sites, and TMP was often ahead, but as the months have gone on my orders on the other site has skyrocketd while orders on TMP....well i get about 1 a week (id use to get about 20 a week).

Im trying to see this froma buyers perspective and even though multisig is only a few extra steps i see why buyers dont bother with it, they dont gain anything from doing it and it requires local software to do which in the age of web2.0 is alien to people, i think most buyers coins never even touch their computers. Also they can use a clearnet site to generate keys, it seems sketchy unfamiliar and all those random blocks of code are scary to buyers, they like buttons not keys.

If TMP went down tomorrow i dont think anyone would bother to try to find me and figure out how to finalize it, i dont think i would even know how even if someone walked me through it. I figure my coins are lost just as much as a centralized site, but at least the admin didnt steal them, so im left wondering why cant we have it both ways, why cant buyers not deal with keys and codes and clients and have their simple pushbutton solution they already know, and why cant we vendors also have a mutlsig between us and the admin that keeps them from stealing?

I think this is called 2-of-2 multisig, id be more than happy with this solution as a vendor and though i might still lose my escrow money id be happy knowing that it wasnt because someone else took it, and of course id be happy for the buyer who can still get their drugs without having to do extra work for me.

Why dont we have a market like this?

I've really tried TMP, but i2p just sucks. I can't ever stay on long enough to complete anything, so it's a waste of time. Escrow is nice, but it can be an illusion of safety. Escrow doesn't guarntee you'll get what you wanted. Your best bet imo is to pick your vendor carefully, and not risk more than you can afford to lose. At a vendor's request I checked out the BlackBank market and I was very impressed. Very fast, nice layout and easy multisig escrow. Maybe check that out

We stopped vending there too. Multi-sig doesn't give as much protection as one would think and buyers are just too confused by the whole process. They forget to finalize, fuck it up all the time and you end up answering message after message from disoriented buyers trying to figure it out. And for all that you get one order a week : (

This could be an option because as you said a 2-of-2 escrow between the vendor and the buyer is still better then a regular escrow while the buyer doesn't see any difference.

I love TMP and i2p!

Yeah I hate to be a downer but I tried 1 order via TMP with the whole multisig and hated everything about it. Hated TMP because their lack of vendors sucks, hated i2p. I'll just stick with my main vendors either through direct deal or the occasional MP of its important.

I think it's honestly just support being AWOL that's hurting more than anything else. It doesn't help that for a while I2P wasn't playing nicely with the servers and the tor gateway wasn't working.

Theoretically, the latest version of I2P is going to work better, and hopefully support returns to prior levels.

If I were a mod here, your post would not have a "market complaint" flair. It would have the "solid contribution" flair. I think this is a fantastic idea!

BIP38 two-factor escrow is awesome, and it's probably what you're looking for. We've implemented it on our market, though we're only one vendor for now and not accepting applications.

We've got our process written up here, you'll see it's quite simple and does not require external tools, though for greater security you can use them: http://emerald3ap3ep3d3.onion/help

If there's a demand for 2-of-2 multisig, I'll gladly implement it on The Hydra. Market is still in development (and the name will probably change due to there already being a market called Hydra Market) but if you private message me some way to contact you, I'd be happy to let you know when the private beta is out so you can list your products there. I can waive the sale fee for you for your first month of sales as well, as a courtesy.

Again, message me and we'll talk. :)
