What's your theory on why there is still $21,000,000 in the main NucleusMarket wallet? What are some other good darknet mysteries?

Hopefully my rephrasing of the title satisfies whatever asinine and arbitrary rules the mods are deciding to enforce today.

For whatever reason, I always had a soft spot for Nucleus while it was operating and didn't understand all the hate that it got. There was constant speculation that it would exit scam, so when it disappeared it seemed like not a lot of people were willing to entertain other ideas, especially since BlackBank went down around the same time with similar circumstances.

Not touching all that money after so long really seems like it puts that idea to bed though. Even if there was heat on the bitcoin, the surge in value since they left would seem like enough to bring anyone out of hiding, yet not a satoshi has moved.

Most likely is that the admins got locked up for something else or died, but leaving so much money behind without even a whimper just flies in the face of everything else we've seen on the darknet. SOMEONE should be after that money, but it seems like everyone associated with the market just ceased to exist.

Another DNMs mystery:

How /u/AlpraKing became so successful with his degree of autism.

We may never know.

That's somebody's nest egg for when they get out of the joint.

He prob took a bar and forgot about the bitcoin

My theory based on no evidence whatsoever and pure speculation is that it wasn't an exit scam at all, they either died or got locked up for something unrelated.

Maybe he ran the market just because he could and didn't care about the monies.

I'm sure it was sowmthing like Valhalla. They admins got busted but the market was on auto pilot. Or hardware failure, or OD'd

Drives still up their butthole in jail.

He's been holding in his poop ever since

[8 Points] CareerDrugUser:

They probably are already wealthy from the fees they received from running the market and have no reason to touch those bitcoin right now. They're also probably letting them continue to appreciate in value. It's also very difficult to move that money without getting caught so they're probably waiting until they are able to do it safely.

There are many mysteries for me: How did Defcon become admin of SR2. What happened to Agora?

[2 Points] Nandy-bear:

It could be something as simple as the HDD with the wallet on being damaged.

I lost a few hundred BTC back in the day through something similar. But this was back when they were worth like $20

[2 Points] SmauqDrogs:

I remember differently about the second paragraph. Alphabay was always the people's choice next market to exit scam, all that owned by a carder talk, allegedly faking the listings counter to be the biggest market, controversy over tp being hired by alpha as PR and so on. After Agora went out of the picture Nucleus was the new number one until everything went to shit. That's how I remember it.

I wonder what my spare coin that was there would be worth today?
