I assume there will be some sort of confidentiality agreement, but what would actually be the upside to interviewing? Would raising awareness be good or bad in this area?
A major TV station is looking to interview people who have bought through DarknetMarkets, safe?

Anyone who actually uses the markets on a regular basis would be stupid to bring more unwanted attention to the scene.

don't even think about it

The TV station isn't going to sell you out personally, but it's a terrible idea to bring more attention to this.

I have been Interviewed live on a national news network for a theme completely unrelated. In the waiting room I was given the list of questions I'd be asked, and I had 15 minutes to think up suitable answers. It was only going to be a short slot so this was great.
I was escorted into the studio, everyone was friendly and nice and then the cameras rolled. And they not only asked me completely different questions, they were leading questions putting in negative undertones where none were needed and I was totally unprepared for retaliation, and to top it off they linked to another organisation which wasn't mine meaning I didn't even get the promotion.
In short, don't do it. TV is about entertainment, they sell people's opinions back to them for profit and have no interest in being unbiased. If they want you to look like a drug addict who steals from his parents and trades for bitcoin in back alleys, they will. The chances of showing darknet markets in any positive light are slim unless it's a pro-drug program (very unlikely) or they're more interested in the technical aspect of the free world (also unlikely, there are other ways to demonstrate that)
Safe yes, but you'll likely wind up feeling violated.

people are talking about how they might have an agenda or something but theres a big difference between, say, fox news and al-jazeera and your local station. a local station is definitely going to try to spin it as doomsday crackheads hacking into your child's computers to give them poison. whereas someone like al-jazeera is probably most objective
[2 Points] helenahandcart:
Bad idea. The media will put whatever unfavourable spin on the story to demonise all darknet markets.
[2 Points] lodubzfreq5:
bad idea. don't trust the media. there is a very very small number of the press whowould describe the situation in the right light. and even if it was as flattering as possible(which it wouldn't be..) IMO I don't think the mass public is ready to hear about and accept the use of our chosen substances. people still hear acid and think what we probably were all thinking when we were 8 years old. people hear ecstasy and think holes in your brain. etc etc. at this moment in time less info circulating the better.
[2 Points] doctorfinger:
Don't do it. They're just going to put a hysterical spin on it and it won't be good for anyone. Lowest common denominator and bad for the rest of us.

honestly, should be kept right away from any media. When gawker did that article on SR it was pretty much the beginning of the downfall, plus numerous kids fucking shit up by being so careless -.-

bro the media is run by jews and you cant trust them. they tell you it will be all good then next thing you know they make you to look like a junkie scumbag or murderer or some shit. thats just the kinds of things the jew media does. dont EVER trust them.
I think it's bad. No media attention on this matter whatsoever. It's not like they would make your views look valid anyway, they already have their agenda, and it's probably not in line with ours...
