Although my screen name is new, my presence here amongst you on /r/darknetmarkets is not. Discretion compels me to separate myself from my other identities, but if you are a regular reader here you are certainly familiar with me. As is your mom: tell her I said "hello" when you come upstairs for supper.
With the holiday season upon us (not to mention my in-laws), I wanted to stock up on greenery. To that end I ordered an ounce from MagicLamp&Co. Our last purchase, an oz of his Blueberry Pineapple Diesel, had been most enjoyable. I bought an ounce of Sour Diesel, one of my favorite strains, and watched my mailbox in hopes of some smooth smoking.
Alas, a week went by and my box remained empty. I dropped ML&Co a note only to discover my order had slipped through the cracks. He was apologetic and sent it out as soon as he was notified: while he was out of Sour Diesel he sent Blue Dream (which he said was much better than the SD) and included a Xmas 1/2 oz of Ace of Spades.
While I was waiting I tried out Hansa Market and picked up an ounce of StickyKitty's Yeti/Headband. StickyKitty offered two free joints of Durban Poison (another favorite strain of mine) in exchange for a review: I haven't tried those joints yet but they did come with his package.
Both orders arrived at the same time. In both cases stealth was more than adequate: there was some compression but nothing unacceptable and the herb sprung back into shape not long after I opened it.
(I know some of you are going to ask for pictures. I've got pictures of my hairy balls slapping against your mother's ass and posted them to my favorite MILF forum. Use your imagination and let the words draw a picture for you. At least these buds don't have stretch marks... ).
BLUE DREAM This stuff hit me with a Froot Loop/citrus funk as soon as I cut the last seal. Nice, neatly trimmed nuggets, ranging from the size of my pinky to a couple of thumb-sized rocks. Breaking up a tiny nugget gave me two bowls worth -- and this batch of Blue Dream is definitely two-hit and quit. But it's also a very balanced and clear-headed high: it doesn't leave you paralyzed nor curled up in a panic-stricken ball. An ounce this good could fetch $350 all day where I am at.
ACE OF SPADES: This one is a more Indica-dominant strain. It is not as funky as the Blue Dream and the scent is a bit more floral than fruity, with a coriander undertone. The buds are also a bit smaller, more pinky- to nickel-sized. My aching back stopped hurting after a bowl and my cares melted away. If ML&Co's Blue Dream is a great way to start your day his Ace of Spades is the perfect smoke for winding down in the evening.
YETI/HEADBAND StickyKitty said this has an "earthy" smell and he wasn't kidding. This reminds me of the last time I cooked with dried porcini mushrooms (cepes): it's that same smell of garden earth, with notes of basil and a hint of frankincense. Not the strongest-smelling weed I've ever smoked but definitely one of the more complex and interesting scents.
StickyKitty's explanation of this strains' genetics were interesting: it sounds like the grower was long on marijuana gardening knowledge but short on coherence. Whatever the story, these buds are dense and resinous. When I opened the pack I thought he had sent out wet weed: a day later I discovered it wasn't improperly cured, just sticky as warm toffee. The earthy/herbal notes are especially prounounced on the intake: the high leans more toward the Yeti Indica than the Headband Sativa, dreamy and warm-bodied with the Headband providing a nice tingly note that feels like your skull is full of fizzy champagne.
We are all stocked up for the Holidays now and will be doing business with both vendors again. While our ML&Co order started out on the wrong foot, their communication was great and they more than made things right once we sorted everything out. And our StickyKitty transaction was a joy from start to finish. If this is his "Midgrade+" strain we want to try out some of his 5-star flowers.
Then you would clearly no weed review without pics is useless.
