The self fulfilling prophecy of exit scams, and a call for the unification of our community.

  1. A market goes offline for legitimate reasons, whatever they might be
  2. People panic and assume the worst because of their fear of the unknown. The market administrators see this fear, and namely recognize that they are already being accused of exit scamming when they've not yet done anything wrong
  3. The admins face a choice: deal with the problem in the code and re-establish the website, but then they risk a huge portion of the user base leaving over the down time. It's much like if people lost faith in united states currency. Alternatively, the other choice is to just take all the coins in escrow, a huge quantity of money, and give up on the actual hard work of fixing the site. Those of you who are addicts can think of this the following way: ever tried to stay clean and people kept accusing you of using so you just said fuck it and used?
  4. The admins are being accused of exit scamming when they might not have exit scammed, so what do they do? They exit scam. They already are taking the heat for it, people are raving about it on forums, and they see that even if they re-establish the market that many people will leave and profits will be diminished greatly.
  5. The admins exit scam and the community is outraged as to why. It's most likely because you said it was going to happen, and believed it was going to happen, that it happened.

The markets will never die, they will just keep evolving. This may be the end of the conventional era but some creative genius will come up with a way to make a better, more secure market. People who create for the sake of creation and liberty will, in my opinion, always outdo those who create/think for the sole purpose of law enforcement or as a job. That's why open source code trumps corporate code any day.

That's my 2 cents, I personally hope BB returns... was a great market

Regardless, I think we as a community should stop fighting with one another. We all want the market to come back, we all want to be able to have total freedom when acquiring substances, we all have something at stake here or else we wouldn't be on this forum, etc. There is no reason to argue with one another. Either the market comes back, or it does not. I, for one, hope it does return. Please, stop the fighting.

No, I'm not high. This is truly how I feel about the situation... though many of your insults are admittedly hilarious. Gentlemen, we are a small minority in a world where things are deemed "right" or "wrong" by people we've never met. Those of us here are choosing what we believe is right and wrong. I believe it is right for us to stick together, to not give up, and to keep this grand project alive. So many wonderful things have happened to me because I've had access to drugs that induced self-awareness unlike ever before, and to think that these substances which have shaped my life are illegal disturbs me. Here, we do not need to worry about that. There is just fair trade. Let's get rid of the panic and all just relax a bit. What do you say?

The enticement is there regardless of people's bitching and accusations. You're saying don't piss them off just in case their feelings might be hurt and decide to pull the plug. If they are the kind of emotional admins that obsessively check comments by nobodies and make decisions based on shit posts, fuck them. They would've screwed you anyways.

Do you think admins really give a fuck? The hordes of customers will always be there with open arms if they return, no matter the noise beforehand. In fact, louder the noise, greater the loyalty when they do return. Perfect scenario to build trust for the final exit scam con in the long run. So that might be a better reason to take it easy on the tinfoil blatherings.

Yes, amen, I love that you wrote this and couldn't agree more. Your lovely addition of an analogy was great, quite perspective and certainly worthwhile to at least consider which I hope others as myself took a second to do. Our thoughts & intentions that we send out to the world are more powerful & directly related to the result than I often times unfortunately remember. There's wisdom in this post, thank you for reminding me. ;)

the one good thing is i am glad i never listen to the people that slammed alpha bay .. and put black bank on a pedestal , losing the btc isnt even a thing ,taking loss's in the drug game is part of the biz . But watching all the people that called me a shill or just dissed me for going to alphabay eating crow is a bit comforting and now some of those vendor have listings on AB . Just makes me laugh a little bit
