If the Steven Avery case could make such an exciting series, imagine a Silk Road one that covers EVERYTHING: - the currupt DEA agents, fake hit men, bribery, court appearences, etc.
Would be the best series ever.
Ross Ulbrict needs his own 'Making a murderer' netflix special.

How do we make this happen? Maybe if a shit load of people email them with this idea they might go for it.
[14 Points] pvff:
There's probably not enough video footage to do it. There was a camera crew following every detail of the Steven Avery story for years... It's really hard to make a compelling documentary without that.
[11 Points] BitchinTechnology:
Lol, how? The Making a Murderer shit was filmed while it was happening 10 years ago. How are we supposed to do that now?
[11 Points] RapperOnDrugs:
Making a nerderer
[10 Points] Satoshi-:
Give it a few years, there are a few documentaries about bitcoin/darknet though.
Check out Episode 1 of "Cybercrimes with Ben Hammersley" on Netflix. It was filmed before the sentencing, an interesting episode about DPR/Ross Ulbericht.

BigBird Just wants to star in another movie...

20th Century Fox has optioned the film to be made about Silk Road, and have hired Dennis Lehane (the novelist who penned Shutter Island - the book which was later adapted into a film starring Leonardo D’Caprio and Mark Ruffalo) to write the screenplay. It is to be based on a articles written by Joshua Davis and Joshua Bearman (the writer who’s article in Wired about how the CIA used a fake Science-Fiction film crew to rescue Americans trapped in Iran after the revolution was turned into the movie Argo, starring/directed by Ben Affleck. John Goodman and Bryan Cranston were also in the picture.
For those who don’t remember, Josh Bearman was the author of the two-part article in Wired last year titled the “The Untold Story of Silk Road”, in which former DEA Agent Carl Force was a primary source of information. This article was essentially a fluff piece - glamorizing Carl Force and depicting Dread Pirate Roberts as a monster, a Walter White of the Internet if you will. The Ulbricht family strongly protested this article, and have also turned down overtures from Fox to be involved in the making of this film. It is currently in pre-production.
Universal has also purchased a script that will be based around the Dark Net and prominent in the story will be the rise and fall of both Silk Roads, law enforcement corruption, and other events that occurred. This film is being produced as a fictional story.
As mentioned by other posters in this thread, Alex Winter’s DeepWeb documentary was a popular expose on the Silk Road saga. It shed some light on on the corruption and questionable practices by the government in making it’s case, but the documentary wrapped around the time the trial was taking place, so much of the information post trial was not included in it.
There is also a made for television mini-series in development on the Silk Road saga.
Unfortunately the Netflix original Making of a Murderer style documentary would be an impossibility due to the fact that it was 10 years in the making and the producers were given unfettered access to the Avery family and spent the better part of a decade assembling footage and dissecting the trial. This would not be possible in this case.
I hope that helps.

That fuckmouth Carl Mark Force had movie rights sold, didn't he? I'm sure they're invalid now, but you never know in this fucked up legal system.
[2 Points] None:
Ross Ulbricht wrote his criminal exploits in a diary and kept every single piece of his criminal enterprise on his computer. The only documentary series that will feature him will be called world's dumbest criminal.
[1 Points] T3ppic:
Id write/produce that
[1 Points] stanley_twobrick:
That would be a little more difficult to pull off when you're not dealing with bumbling hillbillies.

Yes!

Maybe it could be a theme on next year's Serial?

It's a shame some people don't even know who ross is while in my eyes he's a leader/hero
[1 Points] None:
When was the fake hit man situation around? Did he post he had wetwork for hire?
[1 Points] buticanfeelyours:
Because Ross and Steven are both clearly guilty?
I think Ross should be free, but not because he didn't do it.
[1 Points] Trappy_Pandora:
His would be better.

Seems to soon to go and do this, but i agree. They definitely should. It would make for an interesting story. I'd say give it at least 10 years but in this day and age realistically speaking that's more like 1-2 years for this to be produced and put out.
[-1 Points] NigrGravedigger:
What, a biased as fuck doc that leaves vital information out? If all you 'HE DINDU NUFFIN' bleeding hearts actually read up on the case, you'd know that he's guilty. Typical liberal drivel, almost as bad as those Satan worshipping sick fucks in Paradise Lost. At least Avery is behind bars where he belongs, that kiddie raping faggot Echols actually got out.
His nephew was the only one who was innocent, that goddamn kid was so dumb he could barely formulate a sentence. Hopefully he gets to watch the new Wrestlemania when he gets out.
I haven't seen it yet, but doesn't Deep Web kind of touch on some of it?
