What happens if your wallet generated an used BTC address, and BTC was sent to that address?

In other words what if 2 different wallets randomly generated the same BTC address?

Do you get free BTC?

It can't happen

it is so unlikely to happen you can't even imagin the numbers.

There are 2160 or about 1,460,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 possible addresses

You would both have access to the BTC attributed to the address. Would those BTC be free? No, if you took them that would be theft and you'd be a dick.

I remember some guy on here a couple weeks ago kept updating his deposit address on blackbank and apparently ended up getting a bunch of btc from people who had sent to old addresses on accident. I think they fixed it now so you can't do that anymore. I was actually one of the idiots who sent to an old wallet address. I assumed my btc was lost due to my mistake but blackbank actually made it right for me.
