Installing programs + creating backups in TAILS

Is there a guide or something that shows how to install programs in TAILS? I want to install some programs such as the Monero GUI and some other stuff but as far as I can see there is no easy way to do so.

I would also like to securely create some backups of my TAILS persistence storage but it doesn't look like there is a straightforward way to do that either.

Any help?

I don't know much regarding this subject but I assume they made it difficult because it would comprise the security of TAILS. Other programs can lead to backdoors to get into the nextwork, etc. etc.

To make a tails backup copy I reccomend using a program called USBit to make an image.

For monero, just put it in your persistence folder

Well, usually i just clone the usb from within tails from the running Tails, then go through the process of creating the persistent volume on the 2nd one, i often use slightly different passwords for the persisten volumes. Then I start the new tails usb, engage persistance and put the other usb in and access it with it's encryption password, from there you can access the persistent volume and transfer any documents, also you export your public and private keys in utilities passwords and keys quite easily, therefore creating a duplicate or backup, i usually have 4 or 5 different backup keys.
