Update: Ordered from the LN, got busted, just got the letter from the prosecution.

So, here is the last story.

TL;DR: Ordered some pills from the NL to Switzerlands (about 20 pills), parcel was somehow caught by customs and forwarded to the local police who raided my house.

Now I got a letter from the prosecution. I can either lawyer up and raise objection or pay a fine of CHF 400 (~$390) and the thing is done (or I could also exchange those CHF 400 for 4 days in jail). No criminal records.

Yeah, send me the fucking bill and we can get over this.

If you lived in the U.S.A. they would have: 1. shown up with a tactical assault team 2. shot your dog after kicking in the door 3. charged you with several felonies that would definitely stick on your permanent record 4. extort you into a plea bargain by charging you with the most severe crimes they can with jail time. 5. put you on probation for several years with monthly "fees" of several hundred dollars. You may still go to jail before the probation even starts.

In two states in the U.S.A. you are charged as an adult starting at the age of 16. So before you can even legally buy cigarettes or beer, vote, or serve in the armed forces; you can end up in prison and/or with a permanent criminal record in the land of the "free".

Count yourself very luck you live in a more sensible place.

Take the 4 days and throw a rave party in they're facility. Hints...You can just beat box the EDM.

[3 Points] Just4theDrama:

be glad you live in CH, mate. at least if it comes to drug laws, not if comes to driving (different topic, but FFS, whats wrong with you getting up to 4 years jail for speeding) Anyway, just over the boarder, no matter which side you would have got not that easy away. so yeah, 400 EUR is a small price to pay, just maybe that learned you to better use drops.

Lethernands? Just playing.

You are one lucky bon of a sitch though, Chesus Jrist.

[3 Points] high_as_flight93:

I mean if no criminal record just pay the fine or go to jail. Just save the money and go to jail, its not that bad, prison is bad, not jail

[2 Points] coffeencreme:

I'd say good result, but it should never have come to that in the first place.

I'm pleased for you though, it's a small price to get out of something with no record.

[2 Points] sad_boy2002:

If I were you I would get a lawyer to make sure they don't fuck you with some legal jargon, much better to be safe than sorry

[2 Points] TripAddict:

Would pay that bill any fucking day for the cops to fuck off

There are a few misconceptions about CH that I feel need to be addressed for the benefit of fellow Swiss users, in particular those who were born in the country and had been exposed to a staggering amount of myths since kindergarten.

In a way, it helps to be an immigrant, as you will more easily recognize the fundamental patterns of deceit, corruption, and bullying that are the defining characteristics of the pig and the pig's allies--the judge, the prosecutor, and the politician--the world over.

First of all, the case of Swiss local police. The local pig in Switzerland is at the bottom of the ladder in the hierarchy of uniformed LE. These individuals had failed to make a career in the Swiss military, failed the brutal physical and educational requirements of the border police, and most likely dropped out of their cantonal (state) police training due once again to being physically, but more importantly mentally, inferior to the myriad other applicants for very few positions.

After failing to qualify for any of the LE agencies that do real police work in Switzerland without much interaction with the general public, your typical future local cop does a stint in a private security agency, patrolling rich neighborhoods and making sure kids don't steal juice and sandwiches from the supermarket after school. They are unarmed, have no power of arrest, and are generally the kind of rent-a-cop that experiences open disdain on a daily basis anywhere in the world. During his copious free time, the private security operator shoots steroids, pumps iron, and reenacts Taxi Driver in front of a mirror in his parents' apartment.

Once every few years, the local cop's city has the budget for a new intake. The pay is laughable by Swiss standards and there is no detective work in the TV sense of the word (non-trivial investigations are usually performed by the state police, as they tend to span multiple cantons, often spill into neighboring countries, and require federal scientific and judicial support). A local cop in Switzerland is thus usually a bitter steroid freak who will waste as much of your time as possible during a normally botched traffic stop (hence the prevalence of radars), will play out sad fantasies of being a "real" French or American cop by harassing "homeboys" who might be a tad loud in a public park. And don't be fooled by the fact that minor possession of marijuana is legal: walk around Geneva, Lausanne, Neuchatel or Fribourg and you are bound to witness what in the US would be called police brutality.

So yes, they are bored motherfuckers, but not because they understand the futility of the war on drugs, but because they realize that they will never get to discharge their firearm in anger, that the "homeboys" they push around in a four on one situation would take down limp steroid muscle one on one any day of the week, and that the most serious crime they will ever be allowed to see through to court is domestic violence.

The best way to deal with them is, unfortunately, to comply with their barking on the spot, as all you're going to get for non-compliance is a broken shoulder, a black eye and a night in a cold holding cell.

Having painted this bleak picture, however, I can reassure you that even having signed some form (do not, under any circumstances volunteer statements; pretend you're too drunk, stoned, mentally ill to be coherent if need be; all three do work on the local pig as his attention span is short and he is easily bored with paperwork), a lawyer from any of the victim's defense organizations will find a procedural hole or three that will get you off.

Use the resources available to you. Why part with 500 francs and have a record (which you now most assuredly do, so forget about working for a bank or most large Swiss businesses), when a hundred francs and an hour of your time will keep your record clean and give you the pleasure of watching a lawyer cross point after point of a pig's nonsensical report. You do it when you rent an apartment, or at least you should, as half the contract contains unenforceable or illegal clauses, so why gamble with your freedom?

Finally, I have noticed over the years that Swiss customs primarily intercepts pills. Your meth or heroin will be safe. Given that pharma is one of the country's key industries, I am not the least bit surprised. And as much as it pains me to cast doubt on a potentially traumatized user, when CH customs intercept pills, you get a letter from Swissmedic informing you that they are holding a quantity of prescription medicine for you, and that you are welcome to come pick it up with a doctor's prescription or they will have no choice but to destroy the shipment within two weeks. No police are involved, unless, as I suspect might be the case here, there are legal issues (e.g. dealing, prior conviction, known person of interest) that we are not privy to, nor should we be.

Don't believe for a second the reputation Switzerland has abroad. It is a nasty, petty, corrupt oligarchy just like any other country, with the added annoyance of constantly having to deal with holier-than-thou, our shit doesn't stink locals. A single encounter with local cops thankfully clears any misconceptions.

[2 Points] MattMxR:

Shit, 4 days in jail over a $400 fine? I'd take that deal in a heartbeat.

[1 Points] bobjoefrank:

damn that fuckin sucks. well tbh itsounds more like shitty job packaging and getting crushed by postal service.

that sux man my condolences

[1 Points] JorDanisREAL:

swiss jails probably a 4* hotel anyway!

[1 Points] MajorDrugUser:

Not completely sure of this cause I'm not from where you are, but if something similar would happen to anyone here and it could as our laws are also lax. One thing to keep in mind is that despite you not having a criminal record when police run your name they will see your involved with drugs and they will check your pockets etc. So keep that in mind and be more careful carrying stuff around, a friend of mine is often up against police van getting his pockets emptied.

[1 Points] cryptocreepo:

I am not 100% sure, but CH decriminalized drugs a long time ago and so since you didn't get caught dealing that seems like an appropriate fine to me, and of course 4 days in jail wouldn't be that bad if you were broke.

[1 Points] consumerrr:

I've never had any problems with LE. If you get caught with small quantities, worst case scenario is a fine and you loose your driving license for a few years. Funny enough, what scares me most about the law in my country (part of the EU) is that if you want to get your driving license back you have to take mandatory blood tests every 3 months for about three years. And I'm scared shitless of fucking needles. :)

[1 Points] gonzobon:

Can they prove that you were the one who ordered it?

[1 Points] panzerlieder:

Your country is awesome man.

[1 Points] onlylikeloud:

I have. Always wondered why people don't just send random packs out every now and then. Would that make it a lot harder to charge people

[1 Points] JailsucksLEtoo:

How many times have you ordered from NL?.. I know it's a flagged country and the mail from there are searched more often than usual. Also I ordered 3 times from NL, two of them I had my pack with an insanely long delay (21 days both), while from others EU country I receive my packs within 4/5 days. Since I live in a neighbor country with severe customs I'd like to know what is the Delivered/Boosted ratio in your case

[1 Points] None:

And then...and then...dude just say you don't like the fucking police instead of writing a big ass sarcastic paragraph because you're too much of a little bitch to even speak your mind.

THE POLICE TOTALLY WOULDN'T ARREST YOU FOR MINDING YOUR OWN BUSINESS. I WAS JUST DOING A COLD WATER EXTRACTION IN THE MIDDLE OF IHOP WHILE BROWSING REDDIT VAPING MY E-CIG AND MAKING A POST ABOUT IT ON MY OTHER PHONE. I KNOW EVERYTHING ABOUT DRUGS BECAUSE I READ ON THE INTERNET. I also say words like "copious" so you know you should punch me in my shit.
