Confused about signature required on a pack

Placed an order. Seller ships from india. Got notice in mailbox that the package needs to be signed for. Did go get it right away. Figure I would contact seller first...

Contacted seller to ask why they sent it to require signature. Seller says they have no idea what I am talking about. They said they didnt send it with tracking or signature. They claim "customs sometimes does that"...

I am confused...

Should I pick it up or just forget about it...?

Edit: I am in the US.

Want your drugs? Pick it up. You're fine most likely.

Do it. Report back and let us know if you're going to prison.

If it was an attempted delivery from USPS you can go online and reschedule the delivery for tmw and sign the notice and leave it in plain sight at your mailbox and they will drop it off, all of the information should be on the front and back of that notice. This has happened to me before and I did what I just told you to do and it was dropped off.

India's mail system is shit. If it's not tracked, it's not unlikely that it would go missing. Tracking often requires signature. Signing for stuff from India is the norm, not the exception. I would not worry.
