Why are vendors in danger ?

Hallo,

since the fall of Alphabay and hansa market i read that the police will catch many vendors. But is that even possible ? When the vendors opsec was very good and he never used his personal email or sended his personal adress to anyone how can the police find him ? It is not possible to track him down with his ip adress because of tor. It seems to me that the costumers are more in danger (the ones who used auto pgp) because then the police has there address. Im sorry if the questions sounds stupid but i am thinking a lot about it and i would like a answer.

Thanks and sorry for my english.

Read carefully what the Dutch police their main goal was to make DNM users feel unsafe and it s a big succes

It s just FUD they wont catch anyone that way

First, when LE want to bust you they don t warn you in the media first. If they wanted to arrest people they probably do it before jearking off in the media. LE never send " hey dude get ready we are commmming to bust you, clear evidence, go away etc ... we are commming " that is fucking ridiculous.

LE knows that when a market goes down another pop up, the only way they can harm the DNM community is by scearing people... and I m very sad to see that most people here are scare to use DNM again.

But the good news is, human have short memory so in few weeks when everybody will see that nothing happened ... they will sign up on a new market and place order again. DNM are the safest place to buy drug (not 100% safe) but WAY safest than street

Wondering this myself. I guess if they can intercept/track many of those packages maybe they can use that info to try to track down vendors?

It is possible that there was some exploit running on Hansa like they had on Playpen and SR2 to deanon site users. We don't know yet.

If vendors were running Tor on their bare naked connection with no VPN or Whonix VM it's possible their IPs may have been unmasked. That's theoretical, we just don't know.

The other vector is with addresses and tracking. If vendors were sending lots of tracked packages and addresses or tracking numbers were sent over auto-encrypt LE will have those details and could use them to build a profile of a vendor's shipping locations/habits.

Big buyers who had addresses/tracking sent over auto-encrypt are in most danger. LE wouldn't need to do much work to pick off those orders and raid the addresses.

The heartening thing is that they've given a lot of warning at this point and we haven't heard about buyers getting picked off yet. I hope most big buyers have cleaned house and will take full precautions when dealing with large packs currently on route.

if noscript was turned ON, plus VPN, that's hopefully enough?

It's not that they are in danger per say, it's just that that's the people that LE are going to be going after, rather than your small time buyer.

Tomm starts work week. Big wig LE back in office. . Lots of doors will be busted down this week. To be safe, put your pc in a balloon and hide it in your ass

Same question asked 250x daily. Look.. If you were lazy with Opsec, vending or buying more than personal use, your going to be arrested. Plan on having a good 10k ready at all times for a good attorney. Don't use a pub defender unless you want more prison time.
