It's pretty much agreed upon that using a fake name is a bad idea because it arouses suspicion from the person delivering it, unless that name has been taking mail for a long time at the same location. However, the Vice article states that it's more difficult for LE to build a case if a fake name is used.
The commenters on the article say that it's mostly better to use a real name because with a fake name:
Your package might not get delivered if the name doesn't exist and it could raise flags and make the package more suspicious. You won't be able to pick it up if left at post office.
This may be true, but I would much rather get a package confiscated and not get convicted of anything instead of making it easier for LE to convict me of something.
I don't care if a package "arouses suspicion" if it means I'm making it much harder for the cops.
What do you guys think? What's the best route to avoid a conviction?
In just the past week the Grand Wizard has sent Viagra to Buff Johnson, Mi Wang and Dick Stiffy.
Edit: those names are edited to protect the smart-asses. But we do get a surprising number of penis puns with our boner bean orders. And amusing as they may be, they definitely increase your chances of getting your pack lost in transit for very little reason. It's not like 10 Cialis are going to garner you a visit from a SWAT team screaming "COME OUT WITH YOUR HANDS AND EVERYTHING ELSE UP..." (sorry, couldn't resist).
