Perhaps the best and most well informed article I've seen to date on this compared to the absolutely horrible articles recently not just about DNMs but drugs in general. I particularly liked this part:

The Silk Road bust has hit darknet user and vendor confidence, however. “There isn't a feeling of invincibility that was pervasive last year at the same time,” said Cristin. “People have realised that, while the technological infrastructure provides good anonymity when used properly, operational mistakes can be very costly."

Of course, the source these articles come from does usually correlate with the quality of the article. A recent article by the Daily Mirror, for example, was low quality crap with no real intelligence or effort evident.
