Community,
Holy shit-storm. I went away on a little pleasurable getaway and come back to a shit storm it seems! I'm trying to get a handle on everything at the moment. I had a bunch of PMs with some complaints which I'm sure are obvious at this point. I will be reviewing everything, working with the mod team, and see what the heck is going on. I know there were a lot of passionate and spirited thoughts on the matter and will be looking at things.
Keeping in mind that I haven't seen much at the moment, here are some things to keep in context:
Mods are part of the community too. Mods have opinions and thoughts. Mods also like to be helpful in the community and as such will sometimes voice an opinion that may be controversial. It is a very fine art to balance mod duties, being active within the community, and ensuring that at the end of the day, everybody understands that personal safety and security is ultimately the responsibility of the individual and many things aren't necessarily black and white with what we do.
Because I haven't looked into enough detail and spoken with the other mods yet, I can't form an opinion as to what happened. HOWEVER, even if a mistake was made by a mod, please keep in mind this is not necessarily an easy job. Transitioning from a community member to a mod takes time and we all are human and will stumble. I've made many mistakes when I started out here. It takes some time to understand the nuances of participating in the community while being a mod. Unless a mistake was malicious or someone refuses to learn, it shouldn't come down to someone having to step down.
Mods here are not necessarily experts. Mods are chosen for a variety of reasons. The mods' primary job is to help curate the sub and moderate/facilitate discussion. There are some mods who have expertise in a particular area, but do not assume just because someone is a mod that their opinion should have more weight than someone else in the community. Again, one aspect of modding is really balancing this tricky area - unfortunately, the "mod" title will unfortunately confer more weight just on virtue of the role. I had to learn how to balance this and make sure that anything I posted in the community was understood that it was simply my thoughts and/or opinion unless I specifically said I had experience or expertise in that area. Newer mods are often unaware of this and posts that would have been perfectly valid as a community member needs to be approached a bit differently.
I've made mistakes modding as well in many different forms. Modding this sub takes practice and time. Learning is key. Let me look into this and see what the fuck is going on. Rest assured, I am looking through all the PMs I have received and will reply back as soon as I can. I'm going to work with the team and see what is going on.

Angel should just admit it's her. There is no doubt. Anyone else notice how she types "LoL" rather specifically?
Look at /u/MDMANGEL post history, you'll see the same "LoL".
edit: "HaHa" as well. I took snapshots juuuuuust in case she goes to scrub it.
