What are the British specifics when it comes to package seizures, controlled deliveries and culpability when found in possession of a package?

There's frequent talk about Controlled Deliveries etc. in this subreddit (and others) but they are America centric conversations, which are not representative of the systems in other countries. I have read that the British police don't do Controlled Deliveries at all and instead they send "Love letters", however I've been unable to find any good resources on how the British police differ from American police in enforcement of darknet related purchasing (and vending too, although my interest is in purchasing -- specifically, whether it's better to be a UK buyer than a US buyer).

Are there any good resources on this, or can anyone talk about their understanding of the system? Thank you!

I don't think you've got much to worry about if you're buying personal use quantity. There has to be some kind of street value going on here equivalent to the cost of the forces.

UK enforcement need to operate under approval of the public. This sounds like a dickish thing to say but it's how we do things. Policing by consent - this is why the love letter exists. It's a gentle warning. I'd consider the address burned after getting a letter cos there's no need to be stupid.

I just love the word culpability

I think that in Europe controlled deliveries happen just in some isolated cases (really big quantities) and for small quantities i don't think you will ever have problems, but i'm absolutely not sure about this.

Here in Italy I heard only about 2 CD in the last 2 years, both for bulks, one kg of hash and 300gr coke. Both made by cops dressed as postman

Personal quantities are usually fine. The customs operation here is pretty shit, most stuff gets through. I mainly order domestically where there is a tiny, tiny chance (<1% I reckon) of a parcel getting stopped. The only controlled deliveries I have heard of have been for massive amounts of green (8oz+) from the US and Canada. They do happen.

I also know of someone who ordered an ounce from canada and it got caught because it had not been sealed properly. He ended up having to go to court because at the time when it happened he couldn't deny everything because he had like 2oz sitting in his flat, the fucking idiot. IMO cleaning your house, phone, computer before making any international orders is basic opsec. The police knocking at my door is something I want to avoid which is why I don't order cannabis flowers from abroad. I have done a little in the past but I think its too risky. I'd rather keep my address for the occasional gram of hq coke or bho for half the domestic price. I also reckon traditional hash is a lesser customs risk too, if youre insistent on trying to get some cheap smoke from abroad.

Incorrect, they will do both, like all countries. I myself have tried to find infomation but there is not that much out there about it. I posted about controlled deliveries and they will all be pretty much the same.

It usually goes they try and get you to sign for a package or they straight up raid your house. Usually it will involve them delivering the package like nothing is happening and then BAM, police come and arrest you.

The US stories will be similar to what would happen in the UK.
