Sorry if this isn't the place to ask but I read the rules and don't see anything expressly forbidding it and I'm banking on this community having insightful information.
So I buy my coins from Localbitcoins through Western Union. I tend to buy from the Chinese because other sellers have you do extra stuff like uploading your driver's license? Fuck that. I've traded like this many times before with absolutely no problem. The last time I attempted a transaction, however, Western Union blocked it.
I only know it was blocked because I got a phone call from them saying so but that they couldn't answer any more questions. Something about 'regulations', the guy was from India so it was hard to understand him. He does give me another number though and I'm currently jumping through their bureaucratic hoops to find out what happened. I still don't have an answer.
So in the meantime I thought I'd ask if anyone has experience with this sort of thing. I've been searching around to see if this has happened to anyone else but I didn't find anything relevant. But I do have some thoughts on the matter.
Maybe it's because I've been buying from the Chinese? As I understand it some people have gotten their transactions fucked with because Western Union considers sending money over seas suspicious behavior. Eventually if the customer complains enough that they're not doing anything illegal WU folds and the problem is solved.
I've had no contact from law enforcement, by the way. So I doubt I'm being profiled. Have any of you guys had success in strong-arming WU into accepting your money again? Should I just give up on WU and try a different method? Am I actually being profiled and I'm just too stupid to see it?
I have two Chinese brokers I deal with exclusively and have always had great experiences with them. The only thing they require is the MTCM # and funds are usually released between 5 and 15 minute
They're is no way in hell I'm going to do business with these US and Euro pricks who feel like they're doing you a favor asking for a photo of your transaction and sometimes even want a pic of your ID. Then they feel they're doing you a favor if they get your coin to you within a day or so. FUCK THEM.
BTW, trading BTC isn't illegal unless they might think money laundering is involved.
Chill out brother and continue to do things the way you are!
