I will try to make it simple. Look at it like that. Linux is the same as for example Windows, OS. Tails is Linux with configurations and applications that are already there that will make you feel safer browsing the land of tor and especially dark net markets.

There is no pros or cons of each, because they are the same, however tails was built for safety and privacy reasons. It has tor, electrum wallet, pgp software, mac address spoofer and other usefull tools. Plus to that it can or "must" be run from a flash drive or CD to not leave any trace on your computer.

But honestly, do more homework. If you ask this kind of questions you are not safe being here.

TAILs if you want your security done for you, any other linux is fine as long as you are willing to invest the time and energy in making it secure too.

I like Debian for my host system. Then you can boot TAILS from a usb when you need it, or install virtualbox and run it from within Debian.

Edit: To get the full security that TAILS offers, you should run it from a usb not a vitrual machine.

I would recommend you to use QubesOS - it has slight learning curve, but it you harness its power then you're invincible against mass-surveillance! Almost.. LOL! If not then use Tails OS with caution!
