This review is about two months late, but since I've finally gotten around to making a TOR-only /r/dnm account I want to write something up.
I ordered TBC's 7 g offering on Cannabis Road, opting for the order to be split between Chocolope Skywalker and B-grade Tropical Thunderfuck. I believe the price for this was 90$, however it's been a while so I don't exactly remember. Unfortunately neither strain is carried by TBC at this point (or any strain actually, he's sold out on flowers for a while apparently). For those unaware, TBC offers various weight listings at one price, which you are allowed to divide between offered strains as you please. Certain strains are offered at extra weigh based on quality, enabling TBC to essentially adjust prices based on quality of the bud while maintaining a compact products listings. The Chocolope was considered top-tier and did not get extra weight, but the B-grade was promised 25% overweight.
Item shipped promptly and arrived in 3-4 days to east coast. Stealth (at this time) was perfectly adequate. Multiple layers of mbb meant absolutely no smell. Buds were uncompressed.
The Chocolope Skywalker was definitely my favorite of the two. It had a fairly mild smell, somewhat earthy, bringing to mind coffee or chocolate. Buds were smaller-ish with a medium green color. A good cure, with the buds not too wet and sticky, but not dry either. Vaped nicely in my mflb, and had little stems or harder bits (I use the finishing grinder which filters out all harder bits, giving me a good indication of the quality of the flower). I'm not familiar with the strain beyond TBC's product, but it was a good balanced hybrid from what I found. A bit leaning towards indica body buzz, but there was good mental stimulation as well. I enjoyed this strain and would choose it again.
The B-grade Tropical Thunderfuck was overall not as pleasing. While I realize I ordered B-grade, this bud overall did not particularly impress. I didn't have a scale for a few days to verify the 25% overweight promise, but once I did get a scale a little backmath indicated it was as listed. TBC's listing stated these were buds from lower on the plant, and I could definitely tell. They were loose and somewhat brittle, letting off a decent amount of shake. The smell initially did not seem very strong, somewhat skunky and maybe sweet. I set the eighth down while I went and searched for a jar and returned a few minutes later to a wall of heavy skunk in my room and hallway. This bud sure smelled strong! The high however was somewhat unfulfilling, petering after about 1.25 to 1.5 hours. I tend to smoke outside and chill for an hour or so, and a few times I felt I needed to smoke again before heading in to stay at the level I wanted. The buds were dry and loose, somewhat gristly. I stopped trying to use this weed with my vape, because much of it wouldn't make it through the finishing grinder.
That being said, this weed dropped kief like nothing else. I've had one single random strain that approached the levels of kief this weed produced, and still this one surpassed it. I'd grind like a half gram or so, and literally brush out a half-bowl's worth of golden kief from the corners of my grinder. I seriously regretted having a two-piece grinder, because this stuff was falling like snow. The kief hit harder than the weed, producing a buzzy and mental high for a couple hours. On the whole however this particular strain was probably worse than what I could pick up local. It was good however to have a small stash of weed I could indiscriminately burn at my leisure, without worrying about waste or conservation.
Overall my transaction with TBC was positive. Shipping was quick and the packaging was strong where it counts. The Thunderfuck was somewhat of a letdown, but it was clearly listed as B-grade, and overall I've read good things about TBC's strain selection. I would definitely order from TBC again, and would recommend him to people looking for a good strain-selection, reasonable prices and reliable service.
Parting Notes: Personally I think TBC is a great guy. He has an active presence on CR forums, and has written very informed and smart posts. Judging by the quality of his writings, he clearly takes OPSEC and stealth very seriously and knows what he's doing. I think the CR community is something unique and special, and I really appreciate his work to contribute to and maintain that community. For this he stands out among vendors on CR and gets my personal approval as a vendor. While his cannabis may not be the "best" of CR, he is definitely one of my favored vendors there.
