"Misdirected Mail Opened by the IRS"

So I'm fairly new to the darknet, but I've ordered a few things so far. A small order was taking a little longer to get here, just got it in today, I opened the envelope to find a note with the following text.

"Misdirected Mail Opened by the IRS

The enclosed correspondence was misdirected to us by the Post Office

The large volume of mail we receive daily is first opened by machine. Therefore, your enclosed envelope was opened before we discovered that it was not addressed to the Internal Revenue Service.

We are sorry for any inconvenience caused you."

Followed by a stamp from my City from the date the IRS office received it.

That is absolutely amazing. Fuck man. Go buy a lottery ticket.

[32 Points] That_Guy_389:

So the letter was accidentally sent to the IRS then automatically opened? Then the stealth was good enough they apologized and sent it back on its way? Sounds like you are one lucky fucker if you ask me. And if they are trying to build a case against you that's some sting there running lol!

Was there any irony in the substance in the pack?

Like cocaine?

[13 Points] None:

It's probably a fluke, but holy shit that was a close call! That vendor should get a gold star for his top-notch stealth.

[8 Points] endedbytheknife:

DTRH's DMT? That thing was like James Bond Stealth.

Kind of gives you insight to why feds don't care if you open mail not named or addressed to you. Maybe a machine opened it, maybe dog, or kid. They'd have to prove it was you doing it deliberately to prosecute so it's not worth the effort.

[8 Points] PM_TITS4FUNNYDICKPIC:

Hopefully there are some kind of armchair lawyers around to correct me but even if they did open it that wouldn't give them legal grounds to prosecute or keep tabs on you, would it?

Technically what they did was illegal, and even though I'm sure it can't/wouldn't be prosecuted under the fact that it seems like it was a simple mistake even if you tried, I don't think any evidence they gathered from the act of illegally opening your mail could be used against you.

[5 Points] FaRite:

This happened to me a few years back but it was not Anything illegal or sketchy that was being mAiled.

"Unable to process, please try again!"

[1 Points] AgentScully_FBI:

What drug was it?! We must know!

[1 Points] sharkbetfarkets:

Where your drugs in there? If not, I'd guess that the vendor scammed you, wouldn't be the first time someone tried that shit.

[1 Points] stilldogman:

You should totally flip out. "I received a package filled with drugs from our very own INTERNAL REVENUE SERVICE. THE PUBLIC NEEDS TO KNOW. OUR GOVERNMENT IS SELLING DRUGS."

Hit up Vice. They'll run ANYTHING.
