[GeneralQuestions] Vender/Customer Strike until true Multi-Sig?

Update: A nice solution for the vendors is to list their sales/discounts on the more secure multi-sig transactions and charge a premium/tax for the riskier centralized escrow transactions.

Edit: Don't let the none vendors pressure you to accept anything but a secure market for the vendors. We are a vital player in the supply chain and we lose the most when they go down.

Edit 2: My suggestion is an extreme approach to push the admin to a call to action. However, there are some great discussions forming on possible approaches that are not as extreme and still very effective. Vendors, please contribute to this movement. We need change that helps us. Any action is better than inaction!

Disclaimer: I'm sorry customers, but there needs to be a real and very open discussion between vendors. You certainly have an influence as well. However that involves you sourcing IRL for the moment as inconvenient as that might be. We need to do the heavy lifting for a moment.

Vendors of all vices,

It appears it is business as usual. Our solution to collectively losing $34M is to slowly pass this loss onto the customers over the next year (sorry customers, that's the direction we are heading). We are like flies on shit. Fuck that. We are better than that. We owe it to ourselves, our suppliers, our customers, and the DNM movement to be better in this hour. Fuck acting like the low hanging fruit.

STRIKE TIME Pay your monthly bills and pull your listings from EVERY market. Vacation mode, let that escrow drop. Let's pull some good old fashioned collective bargaining on these programmers. If one programming team wants to become the next multi-millionaire's by 2016, they will respond with some quick coding and updates within a week.

Why strike? Because it will give the site operators time to code/update/test. They won't have to worry about uptime or support. Their only focus will be coding a product that we want. Not a 'multi-sig' market where the funds are still held in their wallet. A REAL multi-sig market.

Markets like Agora could have this feature fully functional within a week.

Why should we do it now, because 4/20 is coming up and we all know the volume we are going to push. This puts us at a peak leverage moment. All 4/20 purchases could be conducted in a much safer environment. Again: this isn't a difficult change, this can occur within the week. We just need to give the programmers time to make the change and personally weather a week of not vending. A market changing vacation!

Programmers: As an immediate compensation for your hard work to improve the DNM environment, the market that offers the real deal solution is going to get flushed with all the wonderful 4/20 commission money. You will forever be THE GAME CHANGERS. Your market will fill the void. This will be the most profitable week of coding in your life.

Let's do it vendors. Let's take a well deserved break. Enjoy the sunshine that we all miss due to our profession. Rest our minds before the 4/20 frenzy. Let's get this market running right. The change will positively affect all involved. Pull those listings and stand united.

Update those profiles to let your customer base know of the strike and how they can help (IRL sourcing for the week). When the solution comes, flock to the market that delivers.

Now is your time to shine programmers. Who is going to be the white knights in this dark hour?

Sincerely, an average vendor

The Grand Wizard is insisting on multisig for our GWL #3 office. We're offering bonuses to customers willing to use multisig. We may move to a "multisig or FE only" policy in the future, given that we've repeatedly lost money on conventional escrow.

Instead of trying to drag reluctant people kicking and screaming into multisig by force, you may do better to encourage its implementation with positive reinforcement. Carrots work a whole lot better than sticks -- especially when your buyers can react to your stick/strike by taking their business elsewhere.

One problem is there's no GUI wallet thats good for multisig in the way we use it.

Electrum 2.0 has multisig but it sucks for the vendor-arbitrator-buyer model. The vendor has to create an entirely new electrum wallet for each buyer he wants to sell to. The buyer has to create a new wallet every time he wants to get a refund.

People shouldn't have to learn the details of bitcoin to understand this, the wallets should use words everyone understands like Refund, Fund Escrow, Receive Escrow Money, Sign Off Payment and so on. It should be that within a single wallet you can create Contacts where you store the master public keys of arbitrators/vendors/buyers. When the buyer wants to pay he can press a button for Create New Escrow Address made from his selected vendor and arbitrator. For the buyer to get a refund he right-clicks the multisig address and the menu option should be called Get A Refund, which creates and signs a transaction and prompts him to copypaste it to the arbitrator. For the vendor to get paid it should be called Receive Escrow Money. This functionality cant be on the DNMs because that would mean trusting them. The functionality has to be on wallets that run on the buyer's/vendor's computers.

I think there should be a bounty fund, a multisig address where the keys are held by the moderators or trusted vendors. Anyone can donate to it and the programmer who creates a bitcoin wallet where multisig is easy to use gets the money. Key-holders should agree exactly what kind of features are required to win the bountry. Programmers, stop being such autistic nerds and think about how normal people might use this.

I see your point and I don't disagree with what you are trying to do. However I really don't see vendors agreeing to lose the income, and potentially risk losing customers.

Would vendors and customers messaging the market admin/customer support and requesting multi sig en mass not be an option? A kind of darknet petition?

In the long run buyers would get less risky (i.e. cheaper) drugs. So buyers should support this.

Yeah....strikes and addictions don't work concurrently.

I'm new here, are there any good multi-sig only sites starting up? Still trying to figure out how to use multi-sig as well if anyone can recommend a good guide. So tired of regular escrow.
