After expatriating to an undisclosed location because of a bad hunch, sick of the risk of buying and reselling Darknet sourced goods, and just out of disgust about how the US is slowly becoming a Softcore Nazi State... i learn that some acquaintances of mine, which i shared residence with a few years back, got a visit from some gentlemen (dont know if state or federal yet) trying to subpoena me for my computers.
I ditched the country quite a while ago, have no need to go back, and i never got served.
Does anyone one if there are any statue of limitations on UNSERVED subpoena??
I haven't been back since i left, nor would i loose sleep knowing that i can never go back, but i still would like to know where i stand.
So my doubt is, if i dont go back for 2, 5, 10 years, will that subpoena that never got served still be there? will it be there forever?
And the other thing, is that in all honesty, i long got rid of any computer or evidence that they would like me to provide, its impossible for me to cooperate even if i wanted to.
So lastly, how far can they go if am NOT served, and what they require does NOT exist anymore (and it does not exist because of my 5th amendment right, i got rid of that way before me learning of an unserved subpoena lying around)
Any thoughts?
Thanks!!
