Acid/Base Conversion/Extraction Write Up:
Cocaine HCL (Snort/IV) to Cocaine Base/Freebase (Smoke)
Started with 738mg Blowzero Cocaine as Received
Put in vial and added 15ml distilled water...approx 90% dissolved after stirring.
Added 15ml more Distilled water and all dissolved...
Added 1 drop 10% Ammonium Hydroxide...Some milky precipitation observed.
Stirred and milkiness went away...added 1 more drop AH and milkiness returned and stayed.
Added 3rd drop, stirred and checked PH...
PH was aprox 7.5...let stand for 10 minutes, was still milky.
Decided to extract at this point...added 30ml Petroleum Ether and shook gently to mix...
Let sit and layers seperated with a small emulsion layer in between
Drew off ether and put on small plate with fan blowing on it...
added 1 drop AH to vial and saw a little precipitation...added 1 more drop, stirred and checked PH
PH was 7.6, let sit for 10 minutes and extracted again with fresh 30ml of Ether and put on same plate
Repeated a third time as above to PH of 7.6
Last two extractions I overshot PH an ended up at 8.5 to 9.0...extracted that with Ether and put on Large Plate...
You can really see the differeence after both plates dried...The PH that never went obve 7.6 left nice crystals with some even being like ice shards
The PH that went over 8.0 left smaller opaque crystals that looked like it picked up cut with the cocaine!!
Smoking both you can really tell the difference with the PH 7.6 crystals giving a stronger, nicer high and tasted sweeter when smoked.
And the PH 8-9 giving a weaker smoke with a cut kind of taste!!
Started with 738mg Got back 307mg from Large Plate (ph 8-9) and 237mg from the small plate (ph 7.6) for a total of 544mg for a loss of 194mg or a loss of apprx 26%...after 5 extractions total there was no precipitation when adding AH, no matter how many drops.
To snort or IV this it must be converted back to Cocaine HCL...Then it can be recrystalised for ultimate purity!!!

Very cool writeup!
