Sad day...tomorrow maybe jail :(((

Just wanted to share this with you people and get some ideas and support if possible...

Well i have to attend court tomorrow and the punishment will be anounced. 2 years ago i got busted after search at my house with 0.5gr of weed and 0.8gr of mephedrone. I have clean history, never been at any court before, expecting my first baby in 1 month and i have made analysis of my urine the last 3 months and i am clean so i will give these analysis results tomorrow.

In my country wish law was like usa or uk. Its very strict here ((( my lawyer never says i will get away with it from day 1 but he is just one of these guys that never says a lot. ..all he says we are going for a fine or max jail on parole ...I have been talking with so many others and most are telling me i will get away with it with a big fine. I hope... To be honest i have a lot of % chances to get away with fine...but still this worry kills me...

I cant stop thinking about it...i even organising some things so my wife will be fine for the 1-2 months i may get to go to jail...

I dont know realy what to ask from you guys...i just wanted to share my feeling here where i think its the most appropriate place and people can feel and understand me... I dont know how i will manage to stay alive if the judge is in bad mood and hear him saying jail ((( how should i be prepared ?? (((

I am devastated (((

< 1% of sentences imposed for drug use, possession, and even cultivation of cannabis in Greece result in actual jail time.

Keep your head up, bud.

Dress nice. Be well groomed. Distance yourself from the words that come out of others mouths. They aren't to you, they are to someone else. You will have time to think about them later.

Above all, stay strong OP.

How did this happen? Was a package intercepted and/or was it DNM related?

This may sound trivial or even silly, but make sure you address the judge by his proper title. Also only speak when spoken to. I was in court for a traffic thing a few years ago. A guy that was there for a DUI kept calling the judge "sir" and speaking out of turn. The judge corrected him and told him to address him as "your honor", but the guy kept whining and repeatedly calling him "sir". Judge got fed up and gave the guy a month in jail instead of 3 days in a DUI class. I couldn't believe how ignorant that guy was. He just would not shut up and listen.

I'm not sure how the courts work in Greece as I'm from USA, but like another comment said, be well dressed and well groomed, speak very politely and say please and thank you. You need to sell yourself to the judge and the district attorney (if you guys have that) that your a well respected citizen and it was a one time mistake. The better you make yourself look, the more chances of the judge being easier on you, or at least that's how it works here. I was up for 4 years when I went to court (not drug related) but my clean history good demeanor and politeness got me 6 years probation instead. I could have sworn I was going away but was completely surprised when I didn't. Just keep your head up, stay positive and don't give up hope. I hope all works out for you and if you don't go away, keep us posted. Good luck my friend.

I hope juge will go easy on you. Stay strong. A friend of I was in for around two years with a brand new baby at home. It was hard, but now he is out and making up for lost time and his life is great. I hope you have some support.. if not..stay strong.

[2 Points] AmbulanceConsultant:

This is fucked, I am so sorry, OP.

Stay positive, no matter what happens life will go on and you will be alright. If your wife has family near by I am sure they will support and help her.

If you do go to jail, which I don't think you will, use the time wisely. Work out, read, join groups, if you are spiritually inclined try to use the time as an extended retreat. Whatever you do, don't give in to negativity.

I wish you the best of luck. I hope things work out in your favor. The world needs to abolish all drug laws, honestly they do so much more harm than good. Stay positive, bro.

Chose to see it as positively as possible. It's out of your hands and control, so remain positive and picture a positive outcome no matter what. If you go away, don't look at it as sad. See it as an opportunity to grow as a person, learn new things, experience something different, even if challenging, and come out of it as a more complete person.

I definitely know how difficult that seems, to be positive, but you can do it. What's more, be that way for the people who care about you. Be an example. Being positive and looking for positivity will encourage others, such as your family and your wife, to be positive as well and to feel better about whatever outcome may occur.

The one thing you can control is your reaction to the outcome. Be courageous, respectful, and humble. Learn from this.

Greece is in the EU. You shouldn't go to jail for .5g of weed wtf? UK has some archaic laws and officers have noticed me smoking on 2 occasions and did nothing

It's your last day before going to prison and you're spending it on reddit?

What country are you in that has such strict laws over such a small amount? Even in most places I can think of that are pretty fucked up, the cops would still rather take a bride/beat you than arrest you and jail you over less than a gram of any drug.

[1 Points] NolanaTwice:

I really have no advice for you, just that I feel for you. I hope you only have to pay a fine, good luck and congrats on the new child.

I'm a father of three and children will change your life.

I share your grief, my house just got raided

[1 Points] lopeor:

Jesus I feel so sorry for you.

This is so unbelievably unfair. Stay strong, I really think you won't go into jail. Probably a fine or they will suspend the penalty.

[1 Points] earthmoonsun:

All the best. Please let us know tomorrow how everything went. I hope you have a chance to answer.

[1 Points] TxBeast956:

Good luck brother

[1 Points] smooothh:

Trust me you will make it. I'm really astonished that you even have to bother with court because of such a small dose of drugs. Go to bed early, dress properly and shower. I wish you all the best.

BTW keep us updated if you've made it I'll get you a beer or sth. ;)

All the best to you mate...

[1 Points] roshanhasfallen:

this is retarded, you're in greece and it's a possession charge. there's no way you're going to jail

[1 Points] RavenQuoth:

Dude its been a day. Update??

[0 Points] TobiVailvsKC:

"...get to go to jail" is not the phrasing I'd use bud. Nonetheless I'm very sorry to hear this.

Don't drop the soap... unless thats your thing then drop away..

[-12 Points] underground_legend:

why is this on DNM? and you're spelling is terrible, you should take the jail time.
