STOP USING JPG/JPEG images! convert them to PNG before uploading them!!

For your security and anonymity.
DO NOT UPLOAD JPG/JPEG IMAGES!
ESPECIALLY IF YOU TAKE THE PICTURES WITH YOUR PHONE!
Your phones can and WILL embed your photos with information that really doesn't need to be shared. You are basically fucked if you leave your GPS on. As it will embed your location when you took the photo which can easily be googled by anyone which includes LE.

You don't even need to convert to a *.png. All you need to do is remove the metadata. There's one built right in to Tails called MAT and it's located under System Tools.

I watched a video the other day on how to take the GPS out of a cell phone...Now this was an older flip phone....BTW.....the only type of phone for the truly paranoid (me) :-)

what is png exactly? I know it's an image file, but what puts it apart from a jpg. It contains no data other than the photo itself?

iPhone has an app called ViewExif that removes metadata.

This is good advice!

Just taking a screenshot of your photo is a quick and easy way of doing the same thing.
