Community,
It happens to every man (and possibly every woman too, but less often it seems) where you find yourself running afoul of the rules of the sub and wish to lodge a protest. We are reasonable and sometimes will revisit a ban and reverse it in certain circumstances. However, one thing I want to stress - if you want to protest your ban, do not alter or edit the post/comment that got you banned in the first place. By doing this, you lose the opportunity for a review of the ban b/c we can't review the content some of the time. Sometimes Uneddit works, but lately it hasn't been working for me and a number of other people. But do not delete your content if you wish to protest. Doing so will make us unlikely to reverse a ban.
On "serious" bans, we have a process that attempts to help us with this and enables us to reference why the ban was originally hammered down, but this is not used often and only for serious offenses. Do not rely on this.
TLDR; If you get banned and wish to protest, do so BEFORE altering the content of your post.
Oh I remember my first protest like it was yesterday. Pretty sure I insinuated it was a conspiracy between 2cblover and u/samwhiskey (who banned me) to oust me over disagreements about Monero. Good times.
