Monero is the only cryptocurrency to offer total transactional privacy to all of its users. Unlike Bitcoin which has a public and transparent blockchain, Monero does not reveal the sender, receiver, or value of any transactions on its network. This allows all wallet balances and histories to remain private by default. The highest level of privacy is gained through these technological advancements along with other astounding benefits such as "fungibility", or the unrestricted interchangeability of Monero without the potential for blacklisted coins. Future developments are underway to 1) broadcast transactions through the I2P network while also increasing usability of I2P for everyone, even non-Monero users, and 2) adopt N-of-N multisig in the latest wallet software.
Recent arrests have shown the dangers of using Bitcoin for matters which are best kept private. Warrants in the AlphaBay case were obtained due to a blockchain analysis linking Bitcoin to the market's owner. A Russian national who was just arrested on charges of laundering Bitcoin from the Mt. Gox theft was identified using these very same methods. Privacy in Bitcoin is a fallacy and other alternatives must be adopted - the sooner the better! Monero is currently the best option for ensuring your financial and resulting personal safety when transacting online.
Go to getmonero.org, /r/Monero, or monero.how for more information. I am in no way affiliated with the Monero developers or Core team, I am simply an avid Monero user who wants more participants on my favourite financial network. Stay safe and Welcome to Monero!

Setting Up a Wallet
Web Wallet (Easiest/Fastest)
Go to mymonero.com and create an account. Click "Receive" to find your receiving address. This process takes a few seconds. Note that Tor cannot be used to access this website.
Download a Wallet
Go to getmonero.org/downloads and find your appropriate client. Create a new wallet. You can download and synchronize the Monero blockchain (most secure but takes a long time, ~2 to 24 hours depending on your hardware and Internet connection) or use a remote node by entering node.moneroworld.com into Settings->Daemon Address (slightly less private but much faster and only takes a few minutes to synchronize). Tor can be used for added privacy when accessing remote nodes.
I look forward to sending you all a bit of Monero. Leave your address and I'll promptly send 0.1 or 0.2 XMR your way. Everyone else can watch the transactions occur at xmrchain.net but good luck finding out which ones they are or anything else about them!
EDIT: Thank you all for your participation. I'm going to put a halt on the promotion for now but I loved the limericks, haikus, and diddies so much I'll be back next week in another MONERO GIVEAWAY!!!!
There once was a market named Hansa
A Bona-Fide drugsnet bonanza
You could get PCP
For tree fiddy a key
I heard you could even get ganja

LE thought that it might be funny
If they made a pot out of honey
Bring us to our knees
With some fake PGPs
But they never caught onto the money
