PSA: some USPS prices changed April 10th and may affect mail delivery if you or your vendor use postage stamps

USPS prices for some mail (and thus the value of certain kinds of stamps) was reduced back to the rate they were previously at prior to January 2016. This could possibly cause mail to be returned to sender if postage is insufficient.

As of April 10, 2016, the Postal Service™ has eliminated many surcharges. In addition to lowering the prices of some extra services, such as Registered Mail, COD, Certified Mail®, and others, the following First-Class Mail® prices have also been adjusted.

Cost of First-Class™ Stamps:

Letter Stamps

Standard-sized, rectangular envelopes From $0.47

Square, Oversized, or Unusual Envelopes From $0.68

Postcard Stamps

Standard-sized, rectangular envelopes From $0.34

Global Forever® (International)

Standard-sized, rectangular envelopes From $1.15

According to USPS' Domestic Mail Manual Price page:

Price List

Notice 123 • Effective April 10, 2016

Among other proposals, the Postal Service continues to seek congressional action to reinstate and make the exigent surcharge permanent, but the surcharge removal means these First-Class Mail prices will be reduced to the following beginning April 10:

Mail Piece Prior to April 10th After April 10th
US Letters (1 oz.) 49 cents 47 cents
US Letters additional ounces 22 cents 21 cents
Letters to all international destinations (1 oz.) $1.20 $1.15
Postcards 35 cents 34 cents

This may affect your mail delivery if your vendor uses stamps! THIS MEANS THE VALUE OF THE RELEVANT STAMPS HAS DECREASED! So, Forever Stamps are now valued at 47 cents again. Other stamps who's exact value is not written on the stamps may have declined as well.

Make sure you or your vendor use proper postage stamps with the proper (new, decreased) value. Check the USPS' Domestic Mail Manual Price page to be sure.

Pssst, postage went down. This will cause mail to be delivered to sender with extra postage attached.
