This was a package I had sent myself from a vacation to denver, not through any marketplace, but I figured some of you may be able to help me choose a wise course of action. It was a flat rate, priority mail box, and I used my address for both return and sending, it had stamps instead of their postage sticker and was over 13oz which is why it came off suspicious. I got a letter saying I need to call and verify before they can send it. It seems like I have two options: no contact, ignore everything they send and cut my losses, or call and say "a friend who is traveling the states sends me packages with mementos from each state, and I'm sure he hasn't put anything harmful in that package, but I couldn't tell you what is in it." I don't know if that story would work and it makes me nervous just thinking about telling it. It seems possible that it's just sitting there, unopened, waiting for a call to ship it... but all I can think is that they've opened it and are trying to trick me into admitting an intent to receive. My heart is beating a bit faster than normal. Thanks to any advice you can offer!
EDIT: Thanks for the replies. I am still wondering a couple things... if I should call the office at all, even to deny any knowledge of the package, or just not reply to anything.
You can't send an address with the same address for shipping and returning. Even if it wasn't full of drugs that would get flagged.
