Bitcoin Fog took my money... I think.

Yesterday, I deposited 0.29068343 BTC into my Bitcoin Fog account. The transaction seemed to take a while, but with a bit of research I realised that it might just be a slow process. So, I logged on again today, hoping the BTC would be in my account, but again they weren't. I also noticed that the address that Bitcoin Fog had given me had changed. This suggests to me that they have stolen my money. I can still track the transaction on Blockchain and, with over 80 confirmations, I see money sitting in an account I can't access. I realise that this is probably my own fault, given the amount of complaints about Bitcoin Fog, but I wondered if there was any hope of retrieving my BTC? Also, if this is a regular problem and there are better alternatives, should the recomendations of Bitcoin Fog in the Noob subreddit be deleted?

Yes its your fault. Go back to the noob sub now and use approved tumblers talked about here.

Is not that they are selective scammers is just that there are lots and lots of phishing adresses for bitcoin fog and is so easy to fall for it since bitcoinfog doesn't bother to warn you about them. I lost $500 to them. Contacted support from another account and they never bother to reply. USE GRAMS INSTEAD.

Tumbling is typically considered overkill when depositing INTO markets (not getting dirty money out) with such small amounts. Some people are okay paying an extra 3% to close up that "what if" loop for what they claim to be "peace of mind", (though they conveniently forget about every other unclosable "what if" loop that can fuck them equally hard, in theory). I'd consider paying that much on top of all of the other charges for using BTC if it sealed the final proverbial nail in the OPSEC coffin and I knew my shit was 100% tight because of it, but we all know that isn't the case.

Before you know it, we'll be giving up half of our BTC to these services that reportedly protect us.

You don't need to tumble guys for so little money. Tumbling is mostly for the vendors and bulk byers. If LE gets to one marketplace be sure that they'll not spend their resources to come out at you* if you are just a simple user that buy some stuff for his personal use. They go after the "big fishes" so i don't think this is what you are. If you are too worry, spread them around clearnet wallets and then back to your wallet. That should be enough.

*Note: I guess only if you make it too easy for them.
