Silk Road Vendor 'CALIGIRL' sentenced to 5 years, 10 months.

Matthew Verran Jones used different names during Silk Road's heyday. He was known as CALIGIRL, Dynamite2k and Dynamite, court records say. He also used the names Tyler Zeddai and Mateo Jones.

Now you can call him something else: Federal inmate.

Orlando-based Senior U.S. District Judge G. Kendall Sharp recently sentenced the 44-year-old Dallas resident to nearly six years in prison for illegal drug sales on the now-defunct Silk Road website. He pleaded guilty Aug. 26. Sharp sentenced Jones to five years and 10 months for illegally distributing controlled substances.

Federal prosecutors in Orlando say Jones was the chief technology officer of a Texas company while illegally selling painkillers online. He was among the top vendors on Silk Road, federal officials say.

Authorities shut down Silk Road last year and charged its founder with building a drug empire that had an estimated $1.2 billion in sales. But before Silk Road was brought down, U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration agents in Orlando bought painkillers, sedatives and other drugs from multiple sellers on the website.

According to a criminal complaint filed in Orlando, Jones opened a Silk Road account in April 2013 and used the alias "CALIGIRL." Since then, CALIGIRL made 685 sales. The profile was among the top 5 percent of all Silk Road vendors, the complaint said. DEA agents said they made two undercover buys from CALIGIRL's Silk Road account and six other undercover purchases from CALIGIRL outside the website using an encrypted program, according to the criminal complaint.

Agents also learned Jones frequently traveled to Colombia, where he bought the oxycodone he later sold online.

"Authorities arrested Jones while he was travelling back to the United States from Colombia," the U.S. Attorney's office said in a statement. "At the time of his arrest, he was in possession of approximately 8,500" oxycodone pills. Agents with a search warrant found $75,000 and variety of drugs, including prescription pills, methamphetamine, cocaine and hash in his Dallas home. "A drug lab was also located in the residence,'' the statement added.

This case was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration's Orlando District Office. The DEA got help from the United States Postal Inspection Service in Dallas. Assistant U. S. Attorney David Haas prosecuted Jones.

70 months honestly doesn't sound that bad for all that shit and how long he probably got away with it, plus might be 35-40 months if he can behave hisself.

Wonder how much BTC he has stashed somewhere for when he's free

I think you have to do 75% of fed time with a few programs available for cutting time off a sentence.
