Is there any reason why it is bad that users have to submit an email when creating an alpha bay account?
I was following this guide for using agora and it says to avoid giving an email when registering. Was wondering what you guys think.

Why it's bad? Because you create a link between that email and your DNM account, creating another point of possible error on your part. It's really just another place where someone could make mistakes, and it doesn't add any value to the experience.

I suspect this is because it is built on top of forums software from the quick glance I had at the site and that its there being left over from the original sign up. I haven't investigated it deeply so I don't want to make an accusation that it is but that is what it looked like. They are on my list of sites to check out eventually.

The forum software didn't let us remove the field, but the robot scrambles the e-mail fields every 5 minutes. We have to scramble them, because several new members register using their real-life e-mail, creating a link.
its not even required..
