I will comfort you.

15,000 stolen bitcoins are sitting in THIS wallet

https://blockchain.info/address/1CJBqJ3MwUVVNsqXpJx8Aecc3PWxSWPmUc

along with 0.000666 Btc that I donated. merry Xmas, thief. Santa knows if you've been naughty or nice.

I think this was a spur-of-the-moment "cut and run" with no planning. He just couldn't take the DDos attacks and hacking of the awful DPR2. It feels like he's moving bitcoins around all over the place and not writing it down in a book.

I wish I had 15,000 BTC that I stashed in a robbery, then forgot about. There are 100BTC pots just left all over the place.

The user who discovered the robbery wallet by watching his own TorMarket deposit on the blockchain did the important work. In the course of about a month its just become standard practice to follow a little market wallet deposit on the blockchain, and takes about 5 minutes.

It was only a month ago that we decided SheepMarketplace was robbing us, and i proposed making a small "airgun pellet" deposit in a thread called "OK, this is how we're going to catch him".

There was no "benefit of the doubt" for weeks this time. Users just looked on the blockchain and walked into the robber''s warehouse. Fork lift trucks were busy everywhere.

If it was a scam, especially a scam planned in advance (which would likely be the case if they had Sheep connections), then presumably all the staff were in on it, which is hard to believe (though not impossible). The forum mods went over and above what they needed to do in helping people. Given that TM continually warned people against leaving BTC in their TM account, and had closed the market to new members following the DDoS attack (when TM briefly went down), it's very possible that there's more to the story than a simple scam. On the other hand, if any of the staff were going to surface they would probably have done so by now (unless there had been a major infiltration by LE). Does anyone know whether any of the staff were vending or buying, or contributing to the forums on BMR or SR1 before the setting up of TM?
