They're arresting various anon groups for hacking related charges. Apparently they didn't cover up their track, maybe VPN coughed their IP address, maybe TOR isn't secure as they once though? Who knows. You now can thank to those tyrannical CISA law.

The charge of intentional damage to a protected computer carries a maximum penalty of ten years in jail and a $250,000 fine in America.

Damn, that's pretty harsh.

Anonymous members have become known for wearing the Guy Fawkes masks on outings

Personally I never leave the house without wearing my Guy Fawkes mask.

So if the goberment hacks you you get life. If you hack them you get 10 years and a $250k fine?

To be fair though they did attack visa, mc, PayPal, and the fucking CIA.

I wouldn't have the balls to try to hack the CIA behind 12 proxies, TOR, 3 vpn's and hiding under my blanket.

These kids likely don't realize the extent of what they did simply running a program passed to them by more seasoned members.

The government aren't ever going to reduce they amount they spy on us. Why would they? They like what they do and the more they monitor us, the more they can control and manipulate us. If you want your privacy back, you will have to take it for yourself. Use more encryption, reduce your reliance on the main internet services and encourage your friends and family to do the same. The more people show that they want increased privacy, the more people will be encouraged to build tools and systems to facilitate it
