Pay your EVO vendor!

If you are one of the many people who got mail after Evo went down, you know your vendor didn't get paid, his money was stolen. Of course the buyer isn't obligated to make sure the vendor gets paid, after all, the buyer didn't steal it.

But I would suggest that in some cases, "doubling down" and paying again for your order may be a smart thing to do, most definitely if your order was less than a couple of hundred dollars. The reasons are:

  1. There are some lowlife vendors out there for sure. But many have shown themselves to be straight up people, and also smart businessmen. A lot of vendors shipped their orders after Evo went out, knowing full well they were not going to get paid. Because it's not worth it to turn around and stiff the buyer and alienate them for all time to come, especially for such small amounts of money.

  2. DMNs come and go for obvious reasons, but the market, both vendors and buyers aren't going away, everyone just flocks to the next site. The worst thing that could happen is that the entire market falls apart by alienating each other because an unethical DNM operator does an exit scam.

  3. A lot of vendors go above and beyond, reshipping orders that buyers claim they never got, sending more than what was ordered, etc. How much more do they need to do to prove that there are some truely righteous people in this business? I don't see vendors as predators, making a fortune off of people's addictions. There are plenty of legal ways to make a fast buck. And a lot of those vendors have taken enough hits over the past couple of years.

  4. So spread some karma, pay it forward, whatever you want to call it. Get in touch with your vendor if you know how. Tell him you want to see that he gets paid for what you got. He may well return the favor in spades. This can help heal this community instead of tearing it apart with FUD and negativity.

I'm sorry for vendors loosing money, but does that mean I should lose it?

When someone conducts business he takes a risk. Generally, the costumers aren't the ones who take the risk. From big to small businesses, each time I've bought something I've had a guarantee and they are the ones risking.

On top of all, they had the possibility of choosing multi-sig. I had multi-sig activated. Most of the times I've had the option, I've paid more money for multi-sig.

I don't see how I'm liable for the loss of escrow money on Evo.

I agree with this actually, the right thing to do is to contact your vendor and find a way to pay. Especially ones who honoured orders placed just before the seizure, who would have been completely justified in not shipping.

They get 50% if anything shows. That's more than fair. No one should have to bend over and pay double because Evo are a bunch of greedy fucks.

The Grand Wizard had a couple orders still in escrow when Evo went down. One buyer has since contacted me on BlackBank offering to send me the cost of his order. As we have always said, the number of honest people on DNMs far outweighs the smattering of scammers and lowlifes.

If I receved my order Id be willing to pay 50% back as a form of escrow and pay other half when he ships again that way we both will make it back over a few orders.
