To all that commented on my post HERE where I asked for advice on dealing with a possible scammer, I thank you for the feedback. The following is to do with MUSHBUD on SR2
The following is a brief of the conversation for clarity and transparency. My conversations are not word for word as they are encrypted with MUSHBUD's public key and I didn't keep record, but they are as close as possible for this review.
I originally sent the message 22 April 2014 09:11 UTC stating that my order hasn't arrived, ans whether he was willing to offer refund or re-ship as this has been seen in his review comments prior. His response was THIS.
So I copied and pasted the required information on 28 April 2014 09:48 UTC. I happily received THIS IN RESPONSE.
I asked for a refund. He responded with THIS. 29 April 11:49 UTC I provide a return address for the refund, expecting that it would be processed relatively quickly.
Cue to 01 May 2014 11:08 UTC I send another message asking what the hold up is, stating I have seen him on line over the past few days and would like the funds to process other orders. Then I get the FIRST DIATRIBE. Followed shortly by THE FIRST EXTORTION ATTEMPT. Note the timestamps.
01 May 2014 12:05 UTC I respond that I had no intention of leaving negative feedback because of a possible siezure, and that he offered the refund, an that myself and others don't take kindly to extortion attempts. He responds with the BLEEDING HEART BS.
02 May 09:08 UTC I let him know (my last message saved before encryption)
What you also need to consider is that as a customer who has not received their product, there is no way I can prove that you sent it in the first place, a Catch 22 situation. I have received siezure letters before from customs, but with this purchase I didn't receive one at all, nothing.
I do know however that a large proportion of the population using the DarkNet relies on feedback before making purchases, such as myself did. I do not, nor do others respond well to demands and extortion.
As such I am now happy to assume there will be no refund coming, and thus I will be leaving appropriate feedback on SR2, SR2 Forums, Reddit and many other DarkNet review sites I now frequent.
If you had of said straight up there will be no refund, I would have walked away, but since you offered, then retracted the refund, took on a belligerent attitude and started to extort me than I can only assume this is simply a move out of your playbook, and I am one of countless others who you have used this play on. If my feedback can persuade just a single other potential client not to use your services then karmic balance will have been restored. For the cost of a case of beer, I believe this is truly worthwhile.
His final response is THUS
For someone with an apparent good reputation, I am not sure if he is having a bad day, or is using multiple shell accounts to allow himself to receive large amounts of positive feedback to lure people into scam, I just don't know.
So to all reading this, buyer beware.
This does seem unreasonable of him. What kinda situation would you be in if you left reviews saying you got a refund then he didn't refund it and you had to leave reviews again. You would look like a moron. I can't believe he would demand that.
But at the same time, maybe he's just weird about being told what to do and is still a legitimate vendor when it comes to sending product. I have been looking at him and I will definitely stay in escrow.
I can see where he is coming from because I'm sure buyers scam as much as vendors, but I think he went about this wrong.
