Javascript when viewing PDF's?

I recently purchased some information on the DNM, it was a PDF on how to aquire/maintain a drop. I purchased from Debuyerking on Dream Market and quickly recieved the download link for the PDF, but I noticed when I tried to load the PDF it did not work. I hesitently enabled Javascript for a second to see if that would help it load, and it did. I know javascript should be disabled at all times so my question is whether enabling it to view the PDF puts me at risk?

The in-browser PDF viewer uses java to run. If you have a secure operating system (TAILS or similar that you only use for DNM stuff), you should download the PDF and open it with whatever reader you have on there.

PDFs are a problem outside of Tails because they can phone home - in many readers without asking the user's permission.

A workaround to safely view it elsewhere could be to convert it to pixel graphics using GIMP, which comes with Tails. (If only used it for single-page PDFs so far.)

Should the document be missing information you paid after re-exporting it because it would only be available via an internet connection demand a refund from the vendor and shame him here.

I'd be more concerned using a market that requires javascipt. You know, like MEM. Yeah...that'd put you at risk. Mostly losing your money when their site gets hacked or when their too incompetent to do anything about it and decide to run off with what money they still control.
