What's the worst case scenario if they decide not to deliver the package because I can't be connected to the address? I go to the post office and show ID? It gets sent back without any notice? Should I call the post office? I am expecting the package tomorrow or thursday. Any help is appreciated.
Edit: Also, I thought of sending a letter from here tomorrow in hopes the post will recognize my name from the return address when he goes to deliver the package. Good idea? Bad?
More than likely the mail man will deliver it. I don't think they'll automatically just return to sender or hold at the post office. I get mail at my address for people that NEVER lived in my home (new home when I bought). Generally speaking, its always good to be linked at your address just to reduce overall risk but more likely than not, it'll get delivered. People move all the time and post office wouldn't not deliver something.
I'm guessing if mail gets returned to sender enough, the post office would try to catch it before going out b/c they know from history that the person doesn't live there. That's obviously not the case with you.
I think you'll be fine and it'll get delivered. If it doesn't arrive timely, you can always call the post office and ask if they have any mail being held that is addressed to you.
