Just saw this in the dailymail. Do people really believe this shit?

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3270290/The-scary-new-drug-called-flakka-makes-people-jumpo-balconies-claim-God-sale-just-15-Australia.html

My favorite lines are:

Its extreme effect on the body means up to four police officers are needed to restrain a person high on the drug.

The problem with alpha-PVP is that it's a mix of a potent hallucinogen like LSD with a potent stimulant like ice. They are at the same time extremely aggressive and extremely frightened. So you will get people smashing through windows or running through traffic as they are hallucinating because they think the walls are possessed So you will get people smashing through windows or running through traffic as they are hallucinating because they think the walls are possessed and they throw themselves off a balcony

It looks like they used a propaganda template from the 1930s. Love that bit though, "and they throw themselves off a balcony."

'Flakka is that it has not been strictly illegal, because it's a new drug developed in China most likely by a 19-year-old on a computer that a criminal mastermind or bikie gangs.'

What..?

I wonder if they report about new cruise ships being launched and then cite the titanic?

Doesn't really seem fair if they don't..

[13 Points] EZPeeVee:

I live in a major metropolitan area and flakka (a-PVP) is running through the hood like crack did in the 80's. Now their comment on the drug's effects being psychedelic is way off, but these niggas are strolling down the yellow line in 40mph rush hour traffic barefoot, jumping out of windows and arguing with/attacking imaginary friends.

It's being sold for as little as 3 bucks a hit.

This is fucking gold. I can't stop laughing at the pictures and captions.

I want some.

You know the daily mail is dying for this drug to take off here. Its always Australians and yanks flipping out and running through traffic. They would give their right arm to see people going nuts through drugs in Britain. But we are too shy.

Ive had to bam 2 customers from buying from me over the years for meth psychosis, they both turned out to be ex-pat New Zealanders.

I've banned a few people because they're just too stupid to follow simple instructions. "I know you said don't put butter on the meth. Well I put butter on it and now its unsmokeable. Can you send me some more?"

I"f you put butter on MDMA it makes it stronger. I think your meth must be cut with heroin because I fell asleep last night"

"No mate, I haven't managed to take any meth yet. Like I say, its got butter mixed with it now"

They were all English.

[3 Points] box672:

yes they do

my mate, sent me an sms with this story several days ago. he's a 40+ seasoned opiate user but sill seemed to believe most of it

still, maybe he knows i just go nuts for crazy media drug propaganda like that

[3 Points] NotGCHQBro:

people actually do it's quite sad. I'm more surprised they haven't said it also causes cancer and its the immigrants fault. Owned by Murdoch so what can we expect really

[3 Points] coffeencreme:

Ah yes, the good old Daily Mail. It's all the immigrants and single mothers fault, dontcha know?

Yes sadly people do believe this shit.

[3 Points] RetiredToddler:

Sigh. Why do people do drugs? :(

snorts a fat line

[3 Points] Hank_Vendor:

so who else reallt wants to try this shit

[2 Points] XxPriestxX:

Hahaha Flakka is the fictional drug used on NCIS New Orleans last week. Wtf lolol

[2 Points] RaveTurkey01:

"and they throw themselves off a balcony."

Actually happened with a teenager in Australia although I think the substance he took was more likely to be nBome then flakka as his 'friends' said that they thought he took LSD, and this was long before reports of 'flakka' were around.... instead it was 'bath salts causing zombies in Florida'. Apparantly before he jumped, he told everyone that he could fly.

[2 Points] orlandorebel:

flakka is huge in florida, killed like 40 kids in miami this summer.

[2 Points] Vendor_BBMC:

The Daily Mail always does this

For a drug to become mainstream in the UK, it needs to be associated with a musical / youth movement, and it needs a moral panic story in the Daily mail.

When the time comes, I've got some Royal family-related photos for my meth listings. Then I'm planning to write to the Daily Mail and complain about BBMC, demanding something is done about them.

[1 Points] orlandorebel:

Like Kodak black says "smokin flakka, you a jackass, all i smoke is gas"

[1 Points] Mammal-k:

People in the comments asking why anybody would take this shit. Surely if they have the brain-power to realise nobody would take a drug that was actually as they described it they have the brain-power to realise it's absolute propaganda?

[1 Points] Laksen91:

exceptionel kind a article, that shows the interest in harm reduction, research and info to a substances, that people should be warned of. What a fucking joke... sigh

[1 Points] SecondChanceUsername:

100 years from now when drugs and the effects they have on our minds/bodies are actually understood; shit like this will read like terrible folklore.
