Sidebar markets and regulation?

With many markets on the sidebar, and a more on the way, what requirements would you like to see markets meet before they are listed? Also, what organization would you like to see them in? Multisig first? Alphabetical? By date founded?

What seems fairest to you?

Note I am not a mod, I am just curious as to what the people think.

As a mod, I would love these questions answered by the community, as well. We have had lengthy (and, to be honest, sometimes heated) conversations about this in the mod-mail and we just cannot come up with a criteria that is cool with everyone on how to rank markets on the sidebar.

You would think we could just put the "well-established, safer" ones up top, but are any of the markets well-established? I mean, not really. We can't say that so-and-so is safer when we honestly do not know. We can't have a "New Marketplaces" continuation because... that's silly, they're all fairly new.

We have all tried coming up with ways to do this, but we just cannot unanimously decide what to do about it because there has to be some sort of criteria that each market has to meet before we have a ranked sidebar. And there just isn't one right now. We don't want to play favorites whatsoever, so we've had a lot of trouble with this.

So far, the markets aren't in a specific order at all. I guess I would say the Top 5 are the "most popular" markets so far, but that's about it. The others aren't in any order at all... first, I was just putting the hyperlinked markets together (the ones with their own subreddits) because it looked better. Then, I couldn't even continue doing that because the bottom three are also hyperlinked, but there's not much known/no reviews on any of them, really, so I would feel weird placing them above markets that have been around longer and just don't have their own subreddits... Like I said, agonizing over this damn sidebar has become part of my daily life. ;)

So, basically, TL;DR:

Any and all ideas you guys have are so, so welcome.

Order by the Total number of verified x-silkroad/bmr vendors in each market place could be a nice one.

If you ignore the word "The" we'd like alphabetic listings.

fuckin mods, if you think the ordering of the markets denotes a rank then just mix up the ordering every week, roll some d20 and order it that way.

How about the one with a longer reputation then all the other's combined goes first? ;)

With the post title I thought you could mean conspiracy and accessory charges for mods for putting links there.

The recent expose of one of the mods taking payment for shilling has interesting implications if you look at it from a criminal law perspective.
