Return to sender... what do I do?

So I recently opened up a PO box in order to keep my DNM orders away from my family members. The PO box was paid for, I handed in my forms (tied to my real identity), and I collected my keys. So, I ordered a personal amount of weed to this PO box, as well as a fair amount of junkmail.

When I went to check my PO box today, I expected to see a nice pile of junkmail and a slip to pick up my pack at the front desk. Instead, the PO box was empty, and there was a small red slip taped over the back opening. I went to the front desk to ask about it. Where was all my mail?

Turns out, the PO box had never been "officially" opened. Apparently, any and all mail sent to the address had been marked undeliverable, and RETURNED TO SENDER. I have no idea what to do at this point. What will happen to my pack? Is there any way I can get them to turn around and bring it back to my now legitimate address?

I messaged the vendor explaining the situation, and asked him to release the tracking information. Hopefully that will help clear some things up.

Fucking USPS, their incompetence used to be my favorite thing about them. Now it's blown up in my face...

TL;DR: PO box wasn't really open, pack is being returned to sender. What do?

I've been in exactly the situation you describe, except it wasn't DNM mail. I open a PO box, but the USPS staff is too incompetent to get it set up correctly. They forget to remove whatever they use to block closed PO boxes. (Like someone else said, maybe it should be advised to test a PO box before actually using it.) There was one package delivered to the box that the PO clerk said had been returned to sender. I thought it was on its way back, but ultimately she was able to recover it and I got the item.

You say you've already talked to the PO staff and they've presumably resumed your problem for the future. Some may warn against this, but have you asked them to see if they can get back any mail that was destined for your box?

It's not unheard of for them to have "Undeliverable as Addressed" mail that ultimately gets to the recipient. If it isn't on its way to a return address or lost mail center yet, it could still be somewhere in the postal system. They should be able to assist in ultimately getting lost mail sent to the recipient, but I'm not sure how big of a risk you want to take here.

Burn the P.O. box down!!

Wait, no, that'll just make it worse.

Damn USPS.

Stream some junk mail to it, and a couple normal packs. Consider this a learning lesson. Then revisit your DNM desires. Patience required.

I just had a package "accidentally" returned to sender. My package was put in the wrong box and the owner of the box refused the package. I called the local PO and USPS and they couldn't do anything since it was already in route back to sender. I just got a call today confirming it was returned. So far no LE. As long as the occupants at the return address don't call USPS or the police it should be fine.

WHY DONT YOU FIND OUT WHAT STATE IT IS IN/FACILITY AND CALL THEM AND HAVE THEM SEND IT BACK? Its not like they know there is drugs in there

I have done this when buying drugs from china, it showed up to my state then got marked to return to sender and began going back to china, WHAT DID I DO??! i called the facility of which state it was in and had it ship to the original destination

You should've verified your box was working properly before ordering drugs, dumb ass.
