Received an interesting letter in the mail today, had a bit of a chuckle.

Just got this in the mail: http://www.i.imgur.com/atdmrnF.jpg

I was worried at first, since it came from the Netherlands. At this point I figure it's from the one Netherlands vendor I bought from a few months ago, although I can't be sure. Whether it's that or someone else that got my info from TR, it's a bit spooky since either way someone has my address and name.

The spelling and grammar errors aren't particularly intimidating, but should I be worried at all? I don't think so, sounds like a BS ransom kinds thing.

Did the BTC address have a balance? I'm curious if anyone else paid.

Should you be worried? Well, the person may have evidence you bought drugs and may do anything with it. Paying them isn't a guarantee, nor is not paying.

I'd personally not pay but clean house.

Why are letters like these always so incredibly badly written? Its obvious that English isn't the mother tongue, but at least but a bit of effort into extorting money.

I wish there was a way to send them a picture of my cock

Just some Highwaymen trying to get their bounty. They've got nothing on you.

post the address they wanted you to send to

It's 100% Dutch LE. They are looking for an additional revenue stream to support their ongoing effort to shutdown dark nets.

Does "3 double" mean triple?

Honestly, if someone actually intends to pursue blackmail, they can look a lot more credible if they actually share the information with you privately to prove they're capable of leaking it.

A sloppily worded letter this looks fake AF

[0 Points] mrfloridamolly99:

Why didn't you encrypt your address on TR bro ?

Sorry this happened but yeah fuck that guy

[1 Points] None:

You can ignore it, I've also seen several people claiming to have received the same letter.

but that's the cost of ignoring to encrypt your address and messages.

Just clean your shit in case shit happens.. better safe than sorry.

Don’t let them fool you

Cause the police/ district attorney/ judge/ jury will really believe a random extortion letter from an anonymous admitted hacker.

[1 Points] glhfthunder:

If this was true how many people on reddit have you seen being exposed?

[1 Points] midipoet:

.3BTC is a bit steep!

[1 Points] MMMMMPeng:

I can't believe you even had to ask if this is fake lol

[0 Points] Imightbenormal:
