Just got the fucking living shit scared out of me...

Maybe this is in the wrong sub but I really need to share this and there is probably a lesson to be had here that no amount of opsec will protect you if your irl opsec sucks, but anyway, hoooooly shit...

I was just sitting in my apartment, and the front door happened to be unlocked at that moment, when some motherfucker in a mask walked in and told me at knifepoint to stop selling in his building or he was going to come back and "stab [me] 37 times".

I've been robbed at gunpoint before and I must say I wasn't half as scared then as I am now. This guy clearly knew what he was doing. I can recover from this monetarily but I really see no other option than to move out, which is a pity because I just recently moved in and the apartment is actually fairly nice... unless one of you has a million dollar idea? No? okay :[

edit: whoops forgot to mention that he robbed me too

It will be a drug user or dealer in the same building as you. He won't come back to rob you a second time, and is now shitting himself.

Neighborhood watch volunteers concerned that drug dealing is occurring in the apartment complex would push a note under the door threatening the police, or more likely just call the police. They tend to be retired busybodies who miss out the robbing you at knifepoint part.

It's either somebody who doesn't usually do this sort of thing, so was trying to convince himself that he was robbing you in a public spirited "clean the streets" kind of way (but it sounds like he knew what he was doing), or IT's ANOTHER DEALER WHO LIVES NEARBY.

You probably have a customer in common, and you were threatened by another of his customers who was paid, but told he could keep whatever he stole from you.

Don't move out. Don't do anything. Just let it go quiet, be cheerful and normal, and keep an eye out for a customer who either stops calling, or seems more interested in how you are doing than usual.

Your opponent had one shot, and had to finish your business or kill you. They've really blown it. I know you feel scared right now, but somebody else, nearby (possibly the same building) is feeling a lot more scared than you. They were clearly feeling the competition, which means that several customers now use you instead (or if you have one really good customer, him).

You're not in the violence business, and you probably won't get your money back. Only do something if it's good for your business. That includes moving out.

Just stay put. You will find out who's behind it. In fact, he's probably being blackmailed as we speak. It's likely that you've heard the last of this. he who lives by the sword dies by the sword. If you find out who's behind it, it will probably be after they are long gone. Your job is to be a survivor.

Ask your newest customers where they used to buy what you sell before you moved in, but don't tell any of them that you were robbed. Most will happily tell you "a guy down the hall". One will look all nervous.

Remember:- Just because you find something out, it doesn't mean you have to act on it. The guilty hate silence, wondering what you are going to do. Keep an eye out for people who talk too much, or not enough. If you sell drugs, budget to lose some money and get a fright occasionally. Think of them as college fees. Learn whatever lesson can be extracted from this (if there is one) and move on. Sometimes things happen because you didn't know something you need to learn.

Sometimes its just a bunch of stuff which doesn't mean anything, and you're a bit-part player in some other dude's drama.

How about maybe getting a gun? Like a actual legal gun in your name. U said he was in your house. Idk where your from but in some states its legal as fuck to shoot someone if they're intruding in your house. Just make sure everything is hidden, and i mean like stashed tf away. Shoot him, THEN move away lol

[8 Points] Calypso420:

Clean House, call your boys.. Get a Dog. :) move

Move out. No amount of money is worth risking a knife to the guts.

That's an oddly specific number.

[4 Points] Hank_Vendor:

if you are selling in that apartment then you need to move out. and go listen to Biggies 5th crack commandment.

if you're not then you just need to learn to lock your door

[4 Points] HofmannsHeir:

Yeaaa I'd say you need to move. I'd consider yourself lucky no harm came to you or your roommate.

Also, at this point does it even matter who it was?

Possible & not unlikely scenario - you find out it was your convict neighbor or one of his friends. What does he do when he finds out you found out? He just got out of jail, you think he cares about going back? These types of situations boil down to who has less to lose...

Also nobody should know where you live is your opsec is apperntly on point I'm reselling and nobody knows where I live. When product comes within a hour my reseller will come buy it and I don't have to deal with nobody and no users

[3 Points] WD-37:

37 times?!

[1 Points] imnotatree:

I think you should get a badass dog with all that drug money

[2 Points] CheekyDive:

Take a break for now and see how you feel in a few weeks. If you think you are up to the challenge this fucker has given you then get some bats, tools, spray and let him have it if he comes back. You have to be cut for that kinda shit though

[2 Points] otistoole:

I wish someone would try this shit with me, they would be horizontal and smoking. everyone knows I'm crazy.

[2 Points] None:

was it Carl again? ugh... caaaaaaarl, that kills people!

[2 Points] realstonned:

I would not be peddling things with a roomate let alone e roomate who has different people over

[2 Points] Battyhole:

So OP got set up

The mask is important clue

He's falling for the "roommate" story

And not mentioning what was taken

OP needs to move out and think clearer

The hood knows he isn't really 'on dis ting'

[2 Points] None:

keep selling and get a gun and wait and blast his ass

[1 Points] None:

I hope you live in a pro-gun country and have a gun (especially with your profession), because if that man is threatening you with a KNIFE he would have gotten laughed at here. You probably wouldn't even need to use it just showing him you had one would send him back home, tail between legs. No cops, no moving out, and no one gets hurt.

[1 Points] Frank769:

Don't shit where you eat...

[1 Points] GrandMasta216:

If you have any sort of money saved up, I'd say just get up and move somewhere else. Change is a good thing. Maybe this incident will be the start of a new bright, chapter on your life.

Stay positive!

I have a million dollar idea. You go to the con, and see if it was him, or one of his friend who tried that. Either way, the guy who just got out of jail needs to go. He's fresh out...not too many people are gonna be asking questions. Now it's your building. If he threatens your life, you take his. Why would you want to sit around and wait to be killed? That doesn't fly in my book.

[1 Points] None:

I think you are ok. You can survive 37 stab wounds. If he had threatened you with 41 times, it would be a totally different matter.

[1 Points] givemeoil420:

all the people here saying " don't shoot" or " don't call the police" are stupid. In the USA if some one is breaking into your house and threatening your life you can defend your self with a weapon ... that be a hammer or a gun... These cases go in front of a grand jury at most to see if any chargers are necessary.. if a dude had a mask on with a knife and you shot him they would find him like that... masked with a knife .... case closed... (CAMERAS ... at the entrances to your apt or house) ... would easily see a masked knife man and you shooting till he was disarmed ....

as for getting robbed and calling the police... this dosent give them any right to look in your locked or private areas ... only the spaces that were damaged or the area that was broken into. Its better if you know who robbed your or if some of the stolen items are traceable as this can lead to a warrant very ...fast... i had a swat team break down a door at 3 am after getting robbed at gun point 2 hours earlier with the help of Find my iphone .... they found my phone, guns and 100s of stolen electronics ready to be listed on ebay....

[1 Points] JburnaDNM:

Definitely someone who knew your situation very well and was informed by a friend of yours. Definitely not your roommate but one of your clientele. He brought a knife because he had intimate detail that you did not have a gun. Most people I know who get robbed are setup by a chic. I used to rob and steal when I was young and dumb but I grew out of that ridiculously immature greedy shit. He is not comkng back ever trust me on this. Id never rob someone twice because the risk of being shot next time is real. I was robbed at gunpoint in the back seat of a car and believe you me this scared me to the point of buying a gun. Like others said check if your state has the castle law. Buy a gun and if you have to shoot someone know all the inherent risks mentally and physically. I can promise you 100 percent he isnt coming back. I know the fear you are living with now as I have diagnosed ptsd from shit like this and deployments and no meds have helped with it. The only thing that makes me feel remotely safe besides my locks on my doors is the mossberg beside my night stand and .40 xdm in my night stand drAWER. OH YA and my 2 ar-15s and ak47 in my closet not for the robbers but zombies. In this game there is always risk with reward but its up to you to evaluate those and make a decision. Here where im from if you sell drugs you will get robbed at one point or another because these young kids are immature and hungry. Way your risks and again trust me he is not coming back and in the .1% chance he does he will be strapped.

[1 Points] python134r:

1-Door open not locked-shame on you 2-Inside Job-Someone you know set you up. 3-Always be prepared to defend ones self however screw the $$$ and /or contraband, it can always be replaced. Your life cannot. 4-If you are moving contraband where you live, well stupid is as stupid does.... 5-Ya know the 5 -p's, live them and remember Mr. Murphy rears his friggen head when you least can afford it. 6-You can purchase a less than lethal device-Taser-used for $150.00-200.00[a good serviceable one]. 7-Learn the judicious use of lethal force, if thinking of arming oneself. 8-This is all from firsthand experience on the streets of NYC and Southwest Asia.

[1 Points] DICKPIXTHROWAWAY:

Buy a gun and keep your door locked.

[1 Points] None:

If he told you to stop selling in HIS building then it definitely was another dealer concerned about his profit . Dealers are motivated by cold hard cash don't move out because of this just act like it hasn't affected you and do nothing . That's how you "get back" if you wanted some cummupance.

[1 Points] asspatty:

invest in a gun or something. you dont have to shoot the guy but scare him off if he only has a knife. always bring a gun to knife fight. i mean bring a knife too but only take the cheap shot when you have too like in the story

[1 Points] None:

That is old-school stick-up man shit ... he watched your habits, saw that you were selling (probably because he is as well), and robbed the competition and wants you out of his market essentially. Some drug dealers prey on customers, some drug dealers prey on other drug dealers. Never ever sell where you live, lock your doors, and buy a gun; the story you should be telling us is the one where you shot a guy who ran into your apartment.

[1 Points] keepitcasualbrah:

None

[1 Points] DickClarkFive:

  1. stop selling, you don't sound like the type of guy that wants to have a turff war with some gangbangers.

  2. Buy a gun. Get a license to carry it.

  3. Stay inside, seem like you live in a rough area, just staying inside can keep you out of trouble

  4. Make sure your doors have good locks and are well secured. Lock windows too.

  5. Make sure all your stuff is in one box, moved and hidden quickly

  6. If he comes back just to rob you... shoot him. Call the cops Hide your shit.

  7. When cops come, tell the truth. He tried to rob you, you defended yourself.

[0 Points] Shroomgawd:

Get you a strap and if he comes back you know what to do.

[0 Points] DaMenehune:

You should have beat his ass. You are a fucking pussy.

[-2 Points] cdchris12:

Step 1.) Buy a 12 gauge shotgun, preferably a Mossberg 500 or a Remington 870.

Step 2.) Load that puppy with rock salt rounds.

Step 3.) Be prepared for next robbery.

Step 4.) Profit!
