In a moral predicament over a delivery, requesting advice!

Recently I ordered some product over a DNM, a fairly large order, worth around 100$ or so.

Today I received this package, all is well, and I did open it. Now, the problem is that the vendor cancelled the order, returning my coins back to me, stating he would be out of town for a while.

I'm conflicted because while free drugs are great, I feel bad not paying for an amount this large. Just asking what I should do.

Inb4 keep it and delete account. What if he then threatens me, since he had and might still have my address on file?

Thanks

Pay the vendor for the product you recieved and don't be a shit head. Good for you for asking this, now follow through with it. How would you feel if the vendor took your money and didnt send you shit? You do run the risk of being fucked over by the vendor if you take his money and his product. Be the better person or fuck off and don't use the markets. Honesty is what makes these markets function.

To be completely honest, if the vendor can't suck up the bitterness of his own fuck-ups, he's pretty fucking shite. If he would take it further, and extort you for 100$, he's a piece of shit of such magnitude that he should never again vend.

But he isn't. He sent you your product, he informed you he'd be vacationing, and even gave you back your money. This is the definition of honest mistake.

Pay the man. You got your product. You could argue that you shouldn't, I think it'd be hard to convince anyone, even yourself, of the legitimacy of such a course of action.

How is this even a dilemma for you? Pay the money. I don't care if it's $1 or $100, that isn't the point. It's the right thing to do.

Pay it, dude. I understand what you mean, but really its not worth it. I am assuming guilt would eat at your heart anyway... if you have one... jk. Do the right thing!

I agree with the "pay the vendor" posts that have been upvoted. Just wanted to add the words offer to pay the vendor.

For most vendors $100 isn't a large sum, and the hassle of providing you a bitcoin address and responding may not be worth it. Good chance the vendor will tell you to enjoy what you got for free, be happy, and ask you to do business with them again.

[3 Points] my_dnm_account:

Sounds like an honest mistake. A mistake they should pay for. You met your end of the deal.

I'd say if you like the vendor and want to use them again, offer to pay. If not, then fuck'em. Maybe they'll see the loss and tighten up their operation.

I don't understand why they would cancel an order that has already been shipped....

i mean come on, Do they expect you to ship it back?

[2 Points] _GordonBombay:

Pay the vendor immediately. Never fuck with someone who has your drop address, especially if it is your home address.

[1 Points] slicksr:

You ordered it, promising to pay. He shipped it, you pay.

He sounds like a good vendor, giving warning when away. He does also have your address. Be the good guy, pay up, and maybe next time he'll drop a little extra in future deliveries.

As a vendor, I can say that he will never backtrack, realize hesent you a freebie, and demand paymeny unless you tell him.

I sent out double to a brand new customer last week and he very honestly let me know. vendors dont have returns departments. if another customer only received half of their order as a result I could have sent an a stamped addressed envelope to the oversupplied customer and said "please give this customer his half back" I told the customer it was my mistake. Enjoy it. its on me. They tried to insist on sending me some more bitcoin with their next order - but it would put them off ordering again if it essentially costs double. I would prefer honest people like that to become regulars, i'll make it back in the long run.

Just become a good customer. if he says anything, say you receive a lot of orders and you forgot he cancelled too.

Incidentally, on my first day selling on silk road, I shipped all the orders but cancelled them because I thought "shipped" meant "arrived", not "posted" or "in transit"

They could have had free drugs. Every single one voluntarily paid up.

Im always stunned by the honesty of customers. The only two bad ones were both actually other vendors who were buying my product to resell to build confidence and feedback. Then, they start their scam, hit you with bad feedback, and write a psycho mail with no punctuation. All grandiose like the sociopaths scammers always are.

I once sold an O'Reilly TCP/IP book on eBay. I was doing a lot of eBay business then, shipping 10-15 things a day. I sent this guy his book before he paid me.

Weeks go by, and I message him saying "I shipped you this book without realizing you didn't pay, so if you could pay, that'd be nice". He responded with 3 paragraphs berating me, telling me I was a piece of shit, and how he is keeping the book and not paying me.

I spent weeks exacting utter revenge on this dickweed. CONSTANT food deliveries in massive amounts to his house, I ordered every magazine and product I could sent COD. It got so bad he had a call-first order with the fire department after I sent them to his house 15 times in a week, every time around 2:30am.

If he'd have treated me with respect, even sent me a message saying "It was your mistake, not mine, I don't intend to pay" being POLITE about it, I'd have just written it off as my own dumb self.

Pay the guy. He's got your address. Your life can get very unpleasant if he wanted to make it that way.

This is my opinion and itll get downvoted but I wouldnt mention it personally unless you have a repoir with teh vendor. You win some and you loose some. This happens on both ends. He made the mistake.

[1 Points] sharpshooter789:

$100 is by no means a large order, unless you meant $1,000 which is decent.

[1 Points] BLOODPHART117:

All things considered, $100 is not "a fairly large order." It's more than likely the vendor has hundreds or thousands of dollars sitting in escrow at any given time. My advice would be to just do nothing. If the vendor doesn't say anything, then clearly it's not a big enough deal for them to have noticed. Of course, if the vendor brings it up, then you'd be kind of a dick to withhold the money. The vendor made the mistake, so it's their responsibility to correct it. If they don't, enjoy your free drugs! I recommend using the money to buy something on the DNMs you otherwise wouldn't have.

You don't owe them anything, I'd keep my mouth shut and play dumb. I guess pay em if it makes you feel warm and fuzzy inside.
