How are clearnet weed sites allowed to operate in Canada?

Not sure if this is the right subreddit, but I couldnt think of a better place to put this. I was just wondering how Canadian clearnet weed sites are allowed to operate when weed is still illegal in Canada. These sites openly sell to anyone (med card or not) anywhere in the country. I realize weed isnt a big deal in most places in Canada (especially BC where these sites operate out of), but I would've thought selling nationwide would get them shut down right away. Can any Canadians shed some light on why these sites are don't get shut down?

Downtown vancouver has a "dispensary" on almost every block lol just walk in and buy it like its recreation legal. The city of vancouver demanded they get buisness licenses a few months back so shutting them down is literally the last thing on the governments mind.

Same reason cannabis delivery services exist in nearly every province. Police are too busy ticketing drivers. They are revenue agents, after all.

cuz hockeypolice cant do shit about it

Cops have better things to do. Most are operating out of BC and the cops are especially lenient there when it comes to pot.

What other people said plus the fact that the majority of parliament supports the full legalization of it. Kind of sets attitudes even though it's still technically not fully legal.

We had a couple dispensaries even open up in my town. I think they were shut down after a month or two, but I bought a few grams before they did. Canada is just an incredibly liberal democratic state that actually keeps up with the times lmao.

Under the new Trudeau government, Canada has seen a shift towards harm reduction with drug use rather than drug punishment. It's silly to punish people over some pot. Perfect example: http://ottawacitizen.com/opinion/columnists/egan-loonie-judge-fines-pot-grower-1-for-30-plants-mocks-ridiculous-law

Canada is shifting towards the complete legalization of marijuana, it's only a matter of time before it's regulated and sold by the government, so it really is not a top priority. Land of the free, eh?

In the words of Justin Trudeau.. Because it's 2015.

In Canada, Trudeau said/promised as a part of his campaign that he would legalize marijuana in Canada within a short time frame. So hopefully this year. Then like you mentioned most of the dispensaries are located in Vancouver where people do not have a problem with pot. You can walk down the street joint in hand and no one will say shit, well unless you visibly do it in front of an officer but they are obligated to do something and good chance no charge just a warning.

Does it ship to US? LOL!

Laws were already lax in various places in canada and it seems canadian police dont do much to small suppliers. There are sites selling all drugs on the clearnet but most vendors scam you its not just canada.
