Do people here really have the same mailman everyday?

People worry about a cd when it's a different mailman. I've never seen the same one twice, it's a different person everytime. Wtf is going on with a dedicated mailman for people's mail?

Depends, if you're on the edge of a route where they overlap, you'll get rotating deliverers.

Mon thru fri Is always the same lady and Saturdays 9 out of 10 is the same guy. Think my mail lady takes vaca around Thanksgiving every year because it seems like a different person daily, but only then..

Same few people for years where I live. Like any profession, these people work their routes for as long as they are there.

I did for almost 10 years except for 1 day a week and of course Sunday pus her once a year vacation ... she was a 6' drunk Russian lady built like ox.

She retired and now we have constant new people who suck at delivering to the right address. Luckily it is a good area and the packages are USUALLY correct. I figured ehh fuck it I'll just get a PO Box.

I always have this tall older white dude that wears one of those Asian rice hats everyday. He's super quiet, but very polite. I always hook him up with gift cards during the holidays. He gets my my mail to me around 11am everyday. He's OG fasho.

While I've had a few different mail carriers over the last few years, it's generally the same one for anywhere from 3-9 months. From what I've been told by my current carrier the route I'm on is known as a shitty route that nobody wants. So as the carrier moves up on the seniority list, and better routes opens up, they bid on them and move onto better routes.

As for having a different carrier on a seemingly random day, that's due to USPS having rotating days off. Example - week #1 the carrier has Monday off, week #2 the carrier has Tuesday off, etc. But I believe they have their workweek set up so that the week begins on Saturday. That way every 6 weeks they'll have Friday off and then the new week begins the next day which also means having Saturday off and thus having a long weekend every 6 weeks.

To get a better idea on the rotating days off thing, you can check out this calendar - http://www.lettercarriercalendars.com/One_Page_2016.pdf

This is the minutiae one picks up after a family member put in nearly 40 years at USPS.

Same guy on everyday but Thursday.. 10:30 on the dot everyday... Now on Thursday I either never get mail or some rando shows up at like 5-6 P.M

Depends where you live. EU Countries, especially in rural areas, can have the same post guy for years in certain places. (20+)

Probably depends on staffing situations.

In germany you dont have the same mailman maybe its one of these Murica things

[1 Points] FuckTheJakes:

Do you work everyday with only Sundays off?

[1 Points] devilwentdowntoga:

5 out of 6 delivery days i do.

if it's international mail, a different delivery person who comes much earlier than regular mail, even though he typically just drops a "sorry we missed you" pick up slip.

editted to add: naturally if i get sunday delivery (express only around here), it's a different person.

so i have up to 4 mail persons. express is of course a different mail person as well.

they take the same route every day. do you know how long it would take to make every mailman memorize every route and rotate them? obviously it's the same person usually.

I got the same dude all the time, we call him Fat Sal. Fat Sal is great, sometimes I'll give him a cold drink for his hard labor out in that sun!

[1 Points] papayabananatree:

It depends where you live. In the US, rural and suburban areas are likely to have the same mail carrier for a long time (rural more so than suburban). Cities are a lot more of a tossup

I dont think i have had the same person for a while....

there was this younger lady that made of my new glasses i got in the mail, this sexy chick that rattled this package for my neighbors lol big burly dudes, unkown mailman left a priority flat rate filled with 70 on my stoop when i have a indoor mailbox etc

Its kinda cool because not one of them really knows my mail pattern i dont think, also weird because i wonder why they do that....
