Alphabay's help desk area

Omfg. Just popped in there to look around and almost 9/10 threads are about missing btc. There's many about "hacked" accounts with 2-fa and money out of escrow going missing.

I don't like people and think that 98% are fucking morons but Jesus there's no way that many people are that stupid to get phished or misplace their coins.

Never in the history of dnm's have I seen such. I don't think Evo ever had issues like that and definitely not Agora.

Phishing, social engineering, and account stealing is not new. It did not just pop up and become a thing only for Alphabay. So why the fuck are there so many scam reports, missing coin, hacked accounts, etc in their forums?

And before trappy pops his smartass in here no, its not because you're the most "dominant force" on the web. In my eyes I can only see 2 plausible explanation.

Number 1, its an inside job and staff are thieves (I mean they're thieves but they wouldn't steal from users now would they?).

Or number 2, the website is coded like shit and full of holes that is allowing an outside force to steal all this stuff.

Either way is horribly unacceptable. If you want a laugh and a bit of disgust just pop in to the help desk on their forums.

Wanted_drugs_2day, we have seen you going around this reddit making hateful posts towards AlphaBay and this is yet another one of them. What was wrong that we did? Or is just being jelly?

About content of your post (not the disgusting way you painted the picture around it) - this is all of issues which need handling, we assure you, many more marketplaces use Support where support tickets (forum topics in our case) are hidden from the public and simply managed by Staff internaly. A lot of users are targets of phishing for an unknown reason to us as well. Neither of the other markets receive so many dedicated spam, DDoS and phishing attacks.

To prevent the attacks we have implemented a variety of counter-measures including our most recent one - to receive PGP signed message by the server (its PGP key can be found in Contact menu tab on marketplace) which will verify the deposit address and that no coins have been sent to this address yet. This PGP-signed proof of address obtainable just below the address itself.

Currently at AlphaBay we are planning to introduce feature to contact Support directly to ease the user and not create so many topics.

Number one - staff are paid enough and can not reset accounts, only Administration can ban accounts. Number two - if that was the case, we already would have been looted. Quite the contrast, we have one of the best security and speed ever.

Thank you. -AlphaBaySupport
