How bad of an idea is this?

The bitcoin atm near me requires id, and I found some guys id a couple weeks ago at a club. Would it be a bad idea to scan his id and put in a burner number. I wont be depositing more than $50 at a time. Im pretty sure the atm has a camera but I doubt it has some sort of facial recognition software to detect that the id isnt mine, should I do this guys? just trynna remain as anonymous as possible thanks

If you tryna use some randoms ID to get 50$ of bitcoin you are paranoid af and commiting a crime in order to do something perfectly legal.

Posts like this are a nice reminder that there are people that are going to be way easier to catch than me.

[3 Points] trappy_AB:

even if the atm doesnt have a camera there will be others around. ID fraud like that is likely a felony.

Yes, why not turn a 100% legal transaction into an illegal one. Makes perfect sense!

[2 Points] Blurry_bars:

if you have to ask its probably a bad idea.

Buying BTC is legal. You seem to be overthinking this.

How about you get the guy his ID back instead?

you're a fucking genius!

You buy bitcoin with your real life identity, then transfer it (who's to say you're not reselling, gambling, whatever?) to your darknet identity that should be completely separate from your clearnet persona.

That's all there is to it. If you want to go the extra mile, tumble.

You need to team up with dude wanting to use lbc to sell to himself and see how much higher you can raise the bar on stupid ideas

[1 Points] LostSomewhereInSpace:

You know you can buy bitcoin using bank deposits to pretty much any bank under the sun and not give your ID, right?

probably top 5 worst ive seen today for sure!

[1 Points] jaks9000:

Are you serious? ATM fraud is common enough that LE have entire investigative teams to catching them. Only a stupid junkie would do such a thing. Sell the scan for a few bucks, or better yet give the poor dude his ID.

[1 Points] Sinsemilio:

When in doubt, don't.
