OPSEC - how to clean up PC when moving to TAILS

I am thinking. If upgrading my opsec, as currently I use tor browser bundle and PGP4USB both are installed on an external hard drive on a Windows 8.1 PC. If I were to start using TAILS instead and wanting to remove all trace of using TOR could I do this by simply wiping the external hard drive they're on using DBAN or similar or would there be any traces still on my C drive. If so could they be removed without reformatting and re installing the OS?

[2 Points] throwaway:

Tails doesn't offer significantly greater security over naked TBB on windows, really. Use whonix on an encrypted thumb drive if you want to protect yourself from what is currently the biggest network security threat, a through-the-browser attack which announces your real IP address.
