Counterfeit Yu-Gi-Oh & MTG cards - not nearly as many security features as currency, easy to sell, some cards worth $100s

Has anyone heard of this on any DNM? I mean, how hard would it be to make those tiny holographic stickers for yugioh cards? Or get the same kind of paper material as these cards have so they could pass the bend test? Some of these cards are worth 100s of dollars and can be easily sold on ebay, in card stores, to people without them noticing or caring. Discuss

One flaw in your plan - if someone does get in on this then chances are that the market will be flooded with them, people will soon question if they're genuine and the price will soon fall so profit will fall. Nice idea but I'm not sure it'll be that successful.

Talk about this all the time. I don't want to sell them, I just don't want to pay hundreds for good decks to play with friends.

If someone is going through the trouble to make them, they're going to sell them on ebay as the real thing, not DNM. No sense creating a middleman.

How about we try to not rip people off?

Hey What's up? I actually used to sell fake MTG cards way back in the day on BMR. I sold a good amount and people sold hundreds of cards successfully. There are tests to check authenticity of the cards but my cards passed all of them. The hardest one to replicate is the dot pattern which my cards had. They were a little bit thicker and bigger then actual cards but if you had enough social engineering skills, you can get away with em. Certain areas definitely did get flooded. Some people even had craigslist warnings of themselves. I still have some cards but I don't know if it would be worth it to start selling them again. Is there large interest in these?

I would purchase them.

I buy and sell magic cards as a hobby that borderlines profession while I'm doing my schoolwork. If you are hoping to buy these to sell or trade them away, don't waste your time. It is really hard to make them well enough to not notice in a sleeve being played, let alone when inspected before a trade or sale.

If you want them to play legacy for a cheaper price, this might work, might not. Better hope you never ever get a deck check, which means don't ever top 8 at any relevant tournaments.

You would have to do this really really well to work.

There use to be a guy named crooked that use to sell them back on BMR days. People made thousands from what I understand

[3 Points] StuffyKnows2Much:

Pretty sure this guy would be able to tell they were fakes.

also counterfeit coupons is a big markets and I know they personally work

If they don't exist yet, then you could make a bunch of money off of them. I'm sure there are tons of knock off Chinese Yu-Gi-Oh just like there seemed to be counterfeit japanese pokemon.

If you have some of the first fakes you could stand to make a bunch. Once they're out for a while then people will catch on and know what to look for in the fakes.

[1 Points] saxonius:

They have a lot of security featres, considering nobody has the same carton konami does.

I have an idea, why don't you just counterfeit money?
