psychedelics saved me from myself. my experiences with shrooms and LSD have completely reshaped me as a person, inside and out.

Using LSD definitely changed my perception of life in general and I love it for that, it will always be some of the best memories of using I have.
While I agree with using them for good I have definitely seen people become completely derranged from using it. It's kind of a risky thing to play with your mind.

LSD makes my body ache and hurt and my scoliosis more consciously present. Plus it makes my testicles shrivel like a raisin to the point where they feel like they're being zapped by a microwave.
Testicular torsion, look it up

I got a question. In my opinion, the effects of psychedelics are incredibly unpredictable. Sometimes it can be therapeutic but many times not. How do they do these trials to treat these people? Are they just put in a comfy room with good music and they let the trip happen to these people? Seems risky to me as the treatment is used for people with anxiety/depression, and tripping can be either great or really bad for these people. I just feel like the whole process is risky because no one knows how anyone will react to the drugs.

Yep. I can glow for weeks after an acid trip. Never had a bad one, always good vibes and increased appreciation of everything.

Probably not the best place for this, but I'm not the biggest fan of the folks on r/drugs
Does anyone have any advice for getting the greatest benefit from such psychedelics? Over the past 8 or so years Ive done LSD or psilocybin a couple dozen times, but only once in the past two years. My first trips were enlightening, much like what is being described. However my later trips left me feeling mentally "stuck", regardless of surrounding. I would have what I guess you could call ego loss, but it would render me unable to think. Any thing any of you do to have a more positive/productive trip?

For those that just found this and are interested I suggest giving the name Terence Mckenna a Google search. Talks about this kind of stuff from our side of the spectrum

One area I am not experienced in is psychedelics. I tried 2CB once and did ketamine (a lot) but never shrooms nor LSD. Should I start with shrooms.

The only "drugs" I use, they open your mind up. Very good read.

Some of the most memorable moments of my life have been while I was under the influence of psychs I've tried so many from the big dogs lsd and shrooms to their analog counter parts 4-sub tryptamines, 5-meo's, al-lad,eth-lad, 1p-lsd, ald-52 all different and beautiful in their own way.

Use psychedelics in the right way and moment is like a kind of medicine, a kind of magic therapy.
Only you alone, with your brain in the hands.
