Found a new name card inside my PO Box. It has a mysterious red dot beside my name. Mail has also been arriving later than normal and with small tears.

My initial PO Box name card had my name, PO Box #, and date opened, that's it. That card has recently been replaced with a new one that now has a hand-drawn red dot beside my name, and an additional PO Box # written in small numbers next to my real PO Box # which is written in large numbers.

The last few dnm shipments I received at this address dropped 2-3 days later than usual, and each had a small tear at the bottom as if they were poked with a letter opener. The tears were small enough and hidden well so that most people wouldn't notice, which makes me believe my mail here may be being intentionally tampered with. Fortunately, these shipments had excellent stealth (several barriers of sealed mbb), so ultimately no issues other than the annoying delays.

I suspect the red dot implies my address is being investigated, and it serves as a reminder for the mail carrier to place my mail in the other PO Box listed on my name card for the postal inspector to examine first.

Currently, I have a small order in transit to this address, delayed of course. This one contains cannabis, and I am worried that the longer the USPS has it, the more at risk I am. I read that cannabis can only stay in transit for so long before the smell starts to seep through the package for a dog to smell, no matter how well it is packaged.

My questions:

Would you consider this sufficient evidence my PO Box address has been burned or at least considered suspicious by the Post Office?

Could someone with experience shipping/receiving cannabis confirm if I should be concerned with the smell seeping through the barriers and packaging over time, assuming my mail is being monitored?

I'd order some random shit off amazon from like china and other weird places and see whats happens

Well if the vendor used MBB's and was hella careful in the packing stage it shouldn't smell one bit. On the topic of your mail, I would advise against ordering anything to that PO box anymore. Consider it "burned".

See if anyone else's PO box has that on it. Then call the post office claiming to be that person and ask why it is so?

Just act like curious customer. Also, do it in a Canadian accent because fuck it.

I don't work for the post office, but I'm not sure why they would need to place the packages in a second PO box for the post inspector to get them. As others have said, it's probably some sort of post code, but my personal thought is it might mean they were placing your packs in someone else's PO box for some reason, given that they've included a second box number, probably that box. It would explain the delays. Had to wait for someone to show up and check the other box before they realized their mistake. I don't know. I'd certainly be cautious for a while. That being said, I'm the kind of nosy person who would have walked up and asked the person at the counter what it meant. I mean, clearly they've not found anything yet, or things would not go quite as smoothly.

I had a greenish dot sticker on my mail once, I wouldn't take it as a definitive indicator.

The motion picture with title "Ronin" provides the ultimate knoweldge: If there is any doubt, there is no doubt.

cannabis can not seep through proper packaging, years can go by, with no such effect.. not sure where you heard that, but its 100% inaccurate.
