XMR to market question

So if I wanted to use XMR to pay for goods, could I buy ETH from coinbase, send to GDAX and then send to Exchange, convert Eth to XMR and then send the XMR straight to market? Would I be okay or would that redflag the exchange to block/ban/suspend my account? Would I need to send to an XMR wallet beforehand and then from the wallet, send to market? Thanks!

I would recommend going to ETH --> XMR and sending that to either https://mymonero.com or GUI wallet. I personally would not send from exchange straight to the market since the exchange knows where you are sending to (most likely vendor will use different address / escrow but still might not be worth it). XMR provides anonymity from the sending side and i could hurt OPSEC sending from exchange. Using something similar to shape.shift to go from ETH --> XMR into your monero wallet... then to the DNM would be optimal. i know shape.shift probably working with LE so there may be better services out there https://getmonero.org/community/merchants/

Coinbase > GDAX > Wallet > Exchange > XMR Wallet > Market

personally I send to a wallet between GDAX and the exchange because I've heard somewhere around here that coinbase and GDAX can be slow at times with transactions (which would be bad having a limited timeframe to send to an exchange) but that might be just coinbase, I can't remember. I've had that problem with coinbase before at least and have had no slow downs with sending from GDAX to my wallet..

Plus I'd rather keep corporations and markets all separated in the process using my own wallets.

I don't know why you'd go via GDAX as AFAIK GDAX doesn't support XMR.

Exchange straight to market is fine. (For example, Poloniex [XMR] ===> Dream [XMR])

EDIT: Or for greater OPSEC use a throwaway MyMonero address.
