I'm curious...
What causes certain packs to show up when others don't? I'm assuming the method the postage was purchased, but I'm not sure. It seems like anything shipped overnight (only one dnm order that was upgraded by the vendor and lots of normal clearnet stuff) show up, but most of my market orders don't show up at all. Some do, as well as some of my normal clearnet orders...but a lot of those normal clearnet orders don't show either. Is there an actual reason for this?
Should I be worried if packs from a few vendors always show on myusps? If whatever method they use to purchase postage (honestly I almost never even look before opening the pack and tearing the envelope up) is an OPSEC risk for them and therefor myself, I might have to try other vendors just to be safe.
I'll admit, it IS nice. The vendor doesn't have to give you tracking, you get it automatically including alerts if you want them. I just like knowing when my packs are shipped and when I should expect them. And expecially if anything is off or weird about the tracking since I almost never have issues with usps, and I've been using them for 10 years or so since I started buying stuff online. Unless we got a huge snow storm, or the area the package was shipped from had some sort of weather delay, they've always been on point with me. Two day zone actually has meant i get any packages shipped priority two days after they were shipped, or three days after being dropped in a box if it's a dnm order (2 days after usps picks it up so it depends when it's dropped off). Some people report weird shit like packs ending up in random cities before getting to their house or drop but I've ever experienced anything like this in ten years of having items shipped via usps and I do most of my shipping online excluding clothes and food obviously. Pretty much anything else is purchased online and I almost always have it shipped usps unless I don't have an option (most of my amazon orders end up shipped two day with prime via ups)
Just wondering if anyone could elaborate on this. So many vendors "don't want to give out tracking for OPSEC reasons" but I get it anyway if it pops up on myusps. Unless it's a random order/order from a new vendor, or I haven't ordered anything else recently I normally know who the packs that show up are from since I know what areas they ship from. I guess I just want to make sure the vendors I buy from aren't being sloppy, and I'm not taking a risk checking myusps. I do order lots of normal shit online as I said before, so it wouldn't be weird for me to check myusps or even check tracking once a day on orders I've placed, dnm or not so I just don't know what to think.
Some vendors think if you pay the postage with stamps instead of a label, it won't show up in MyUSPS...that's just not true, it will show up when it is scanned and sorted, just like any other package with tracking. It just wont show up as soon as the label is created. I've seen it randomly pop up a package with a shipping label a day later then it was shipped with 3 or 4 status updates, and I've seen it sit at "label created" thing for 2 days, and then flood with the next update all of the updates I missed. MyUSPS is just unreliable source for tracking because of the human factor in their tracking system. Anyone that claims theres a loop hole to getting their shit to pop up is full of it, a tracking label with a barcode gets scanned just as a tracking label printed off with postage from stamps.com or usps.com does...
Their equipment doesn't scan your package for stamps and dismiss updating tracking if it has them, that's just a stupid assumption..
