Is there a program to Change your writing style?

Over the time I've been here, I've noticed this can be something that can unmask you rather quickly. The words you use, how you use them, etc. Can be a huge hint toward who you are and where your from. Such as saying soda instead of pop can pinpoint your general area. So I'm wondering if there is a program that could change up wording, sentence structure, etc. To mask the way I and others talk, so a writing analysis can't be done on us. I know this is kind of tin foil hat area, but you've got to have one in this game.

Cheers!

EDIT: if galaxy and space is still around on this sub, he's very good at the writing analysis, he pretty much all but doxxed me on one quite a few years ago.

Google translate to multiple random languages, then back to engrish.

Don't know if that would work, just talking out my ass. Someone should try it. Not me though. I'm lazy.

Edit: results are fucked. Abort.

Google translates into several random languages and then resumes. You do not know what to do, just saying my ass. Someone must try it. I do not think They're lazy.

Ahh, I don't remember who, but there was an admin or well known vendor or something that did something like this. Everything they posted was basically gibberish because it used some sort of stylometric obfuscation algorithm.

Stylometry isn't really tin foil hat stuff anymore. There are already algorithms that can determine very accurately if two pieces of writing are by the same individual, and the things they are looking for are just too subtle to alter consciously. The biggest thing is that the technology isn't widely understood or accepted by laypeople or courts, but the technology is there.

how about never ever talk here if you are really doing shit lol just order you shit, never tell anyone, ever, at all.

jstylo and anonymouth for example [can be used to analyze and change writing styles] https://web.archive.org/web/20180104083147/https://psal.cs.drexel.edu/index.php/JStylo-Anonymouth and https://www.cs.drexel.edu/~sa499/papers/anonymouth.pdf

I tried to get it fully working on tails or whonix some years ago but have not had much success. if you succeed please let me know.

contrary to what others wrote in this thread, translating in one language and then back is not a good obfuscation method [apart from the gibberish text it does not help that much against stylometry]. I read it in some study some time ago but unfortunately do not have a source on it right now. even comparing writing styles across different languages is apparently not that hard either and has relatively high success chances [i.e. if you only have writing examples of the target in english but the suspect you have only produced texts in spanish].

If you don't know what he's talking about watch Manhunt: Unabomber on Netflix and you'll understand when you see how they caught him.

Why not just do it yourself ...it’s not that hard to go from typing everything out in correct English syntax to typing everything like a 12 year old using slang and internet abbreviations. Most people just use google translate though go back and forth between 3 different languages before going back to English.

You guys are all fucked. By saying 'do it yourself and just use your brain' you couldn't have picked a better way to demonstrate a complete lack of knowledge as to the current state of stylometry and authorship attribution.

Saadia Afroz demonstrated years ago that humans cannot reliably disguise their own writing style while still communicating their intended message. Attempts at obfuscation had a laughable impact on accuracy.

Another researcher at Drexel was amused [also years ago] to find out that Google Translate had basically no effect on the accuracy of authorship attribution software and that Google Translate could even be used to help.

The ONLY way to defeat authorship attribution is to not speak, but barring that the only way it can reliably happen is if you are aided by the very same tools which are used to perform authorship attribution. That's where Anonymouth came from.

But that party is over.

Because the main researcher behind Anonymouth?

He demonstrated an effective attack against it.

Years ago.

I wrote something in Python that replaced words for synonyms but it doesn't work very well because words mean different things in different contexts.

For example "Im going to take my dog for a walk" and "what's up dog", you can't just replace "dog" with a synonym like "puppy" and have it make sense all the time.

You could probably do a pretty good job with neural nets but it probably still wouldn't be perfect.

I think the only people (if anyone) who would be getting this kind of attention would be very big vendors and marketplace operators.

If you really cared about this the easiest and most practical thing to do would be just not to post anything or to be careful about what you post by not using slang etc.

Here's what one version of my program generated for your post:

"over the instance ive been here ive noticed this can remain something that can unclothe you rather quickly the words you use how you use them etc can remain a huge intimation toward who you are and where your from such as saying tonic instead of crack can diagnose your general field so im wondering if there is a plan that could alter up wording condemnation architecture etc to cloak the style i and others talk so a print scrutiny humbug remain done on us i know this is sort of aluminum setting hat field but youve got to enjoy one in this occupation cheers edit if galaxy and infinity is still around on this sub hes very good at the print scrutiny he pretty much all but doxxed me on one quite a few years ago "

EDIT:

I had a look into it and it's called 'paraphrase generation', there are a few research papers on using neural nets to do it. I found this github repo as well but not sure if it actually works or not https://github.com/paulx3/keras_generative_pg

google translate into a couple different languges until it looks somewhat messed up but still understandable

Wish I could remember the name of the script /program, it was super interesting.

It was essentially a script that after a designated period of time would replace your comment/post with something completely unrelated(different topic/tense etc).

Pretty neato

you need focus, commitment and sheer will to do that. some online translators also help doing the job.

[0 Points] _PrinterPam_:

Misuse infinitives, use run-on sentences, fuck-up punctuation, incorrectly capitalize, end sentences with prepositions, and fail at homonyms. I guarantee you'll be indistinguishable from 90% of the sub's users. Oh, you already are. Good job.
