Can we blame fent for all the new laws?

So it seems that after all this bs with fent these new laws start appearing. So am i correct in assuming this.

The government has been trying to increase their surveillance powers since the internet came into existence. This has nothing to do with fent.

[16 Points] None:

No, the laws are about deanonymization of the w o r l d w i d e w e b. Fent is a scapegoat. On that note fuck fentanyl, fuck carfentanyl, fuck the chinese, and fuck dealers who try to pass fent off as oxy.

[7 Points] shadowofashadow:

No, blame the fools in government who do not respect anyone's rights.

[4 Points] fatttyjawn99:

No.

Fent gives the alphabet agencies something to show the media when they finally produce a bust. "LOOK, A GRAIN OF RICE CAN KILL YOU WE NEED TO GET RID OF IT ALL"

It was heroin before that, coke before that, LSD and cannabis before that.

But in reality they have been been trying to de-anon tor and the internet in general for years.

[3 Points] Bitcointhrowaway2Q:

Nah probably not.

We can blame fent for everything if you want though.

Look the government is trying to destroy anonymity. In order to do so however they have to Ignore our rights. In this case it's our 4th Amendment Right against unreasonable search and seizure. Simply by have association with Tor now makes you a public enemy. We could call the victims of this government overreach political prisoners now, for believing in freedom of speech and anonymity. This law will not last and we cannot keep sitting around doing nothing.

At this moment it is Important to be vocal. Not for the sake of keeping the markets up but for keeping the Internet free.

[3 Points] juanwonone1:

Lol no, they make these laws to make money....I mean to protect us from the dangerous drugs.

[2 Points] coffeencreme:

No I don't think the new surveillance laws are anything to do with Fent....they know busting dnms is like playing whack a mole, plus as we know the darknrt is used for childporn and all sorts of other things...so they are trying to put people off downloading tor and getting up to no good.

[1 Points] None:

A change to the federal rules of criminal procedure is not a new law. The rule 41 drama is the worst FUD I have ever seen on.this sub.

[1 Points] trynakick:

No. this specific rule change (not a new law, by the way) was promulgated in response to some of the Playpen CP cases getting thrown out because the FBI didn't have the individual warrants they needed.

Playpen tl;dr: cops took control of a cp website, conned users into downloading malware that deanonymized them, investigated users.

It is baffling to me that this is the rule that people have decided is the last straw. This is way more likely to sweep up law-abiding grandmothers that give their computer to a botnet than it is the casual to regular user of the DNMs.

[1 Points] rozcz01:

If you read the legislation that was written, or at least how it was proposed, it sounds like the core reason for these laws are to catch child-predators using tor to download CP and shit. So you have them to blame, not fent

[1 Points] kebabwhy:

Stop blaming a chemical. These laws have to do with the people in power (ie The Government), trying to keep hold of what little power they have. In other words, it's not fentanyl's "fault" (seriously it's an inanimate object, are you simple?), it's your congressman's fault. Stop pretending drug laws have anything to do with drugs. All laws are about power, and gov't retention thereof.

[1 Points] DextroShade:

I blame fascist politicians and the cowardly scum who vote for them.

[0 Points] trippyjeff:

Congress cited fent and heroine deaths as a reason for heightened postal inspection so yeah we can blame it at least partially. You can't sell something that kills such a large number of people and expect no reaction.

It appears so my friend. It's been what... six years since SR1 was slowly on "the come up" and it was the time of our lives.. or at least the time of my life.

Things have been changing; it appears mostly in the Xanax game-- but that could be just because I happen to be more involved in the "Xanax game" the past year (roughly, since maybe February).

It seems as though perhaps Vice has been showing so many shows on the Darknet, and in my town at least; EVERYONE has been talking about things like "Oh did you see how you can get Quaaludes on the dark net?". Of course, I respond politely saying sure if you'd like to do business with someone in South Africa and just MAYBE get pressed pills saying 'BOSS' on them with maybe a bit of methaqualone in them. maybe.

I still haven't mentioned Fentanyl, the analogues and so forth. I'm rather stressed right now as I have about ten different orders that haven't shown and each and every vendor says "its the holidays" OR "my team member took a holiday".

This is where trust comes into place, like back when SR1 was around.

We were built on trust, regardless of the ESCROW system. Things were different back then.

And now, I am worried for the future of the onions we use today-- BUT I can assure you that no federal agent is going to completely stop the flow and break down thousands of doors.

TLDR: Fentanyl probably is the number 1 cause of these new laws in place; but I am sure that the FEDS have been up to something ever since all of the illegal shit THEY did in order to seize SR1. And they will try their hardest to fuck our game up. But we need to stand strong. And take less xanax.

I would say all those youtube videos about how to buy drugs on the dnm has something to do with it. Some people are just to naive and fuck it up for the rest of us.
