My boy got nabbed today...

I live hundreds of miles away from him, he was still in college and I'm living the real person life now. I just got word through the grapevine that he got grabbed today. Not just grabbed though: absolutely fucked: 2 felony possession, 2 felony intent to distribute, a bunch of misdemeanor possessions and a fucking schedule I federal trafficking charge.

This guy was the most careful person about using DNMs that I've ever met. He had a burner PC, one of those linux partitions that wipes everything upon shutdown, the whole shebang. None of that shit saves you when you're careless in real life though.

From what I can piece together, he and his girl Mholed hard while staying with a bunch of people who don't do drugs and don't know drugs without giving them adequate warning. They (understandably) thought this guy and his girl were in need of medical attention when they were virtually unresponsive, and brought them to the hospital screaming 'OVERDOSE'. They told the pigs that my buddy had all different kinds of drugs in their house and either let 'em search or talked enough that a warrant could be obtained, and the rest doesn't need to be explained.

I'm not totally sure how they got the trafficking charge on him, but I vaguely recall telling him one time not to store his shit in the same envelope/packaging in which it was shipped to him. I'm guessing they saw the goods in an envelope that traveled between state lines, and there you go. Now, barring some sort of miracle, his life is essentially over. He will serve time (hopefully in a federal prison, it beats state at least), maybe serious time, and when he comes out he will not be allowed back into the top university that he was so proud to be a part of and he will be a felon, so any hope easily finding a job or renting his own apartment will be gone for a long, long time.

I'm still in shock, this shit just hasn't registered. This is one of the kindest, most selfless and understanding individuals that I've ever had the pleasure of interacting with. He's never hurt anyone and just wanted to share the beauty he saw in psychs and dissociatives with the world. When we can get shit with the click of a button, it becomes too easy to forget that we still tread the line between enlightenment and imprisonment. Please, PLEASE, don't keep felony quantities lying around. Don't take heroic doses unless everyone you may interact with has a working understanding of what that means. And for the love of FUCK, don't keep evidence of DNM activity in your residence. He was careless, he fucked up, and now he will be paying for it for the rest of his life.

As long as we play this game, we aren't safe. We aren't insulated. When we forget that, we risk losing everything that's important to us.

EDIT: A little bit of misunderstanding: I said 'while staying with' which makes it sound like he was just crashing on people's couch. He was subletting in their house for the summer, and had his own room. It doesn't make the fact that he MHoled without letting people know what that might mean any less stupid, but it's not like he was chilling among them then got wacked out. He was almost certainly in his room, and either wandered out in his state or someone came to talk to him.

It also looks like the trafficking charge may get dropped! His lawyer (reportedly, I'm still getting everything secondhand at best) says he's "confident" that my boy can escape jail time, but that seems so absurdly unlikely to me considering the severity of his charges that I'm taking it with grains of salt. If he does escape jail time, its gonna 100% be because he's an unassuming, well-spoken white kid. Not sure how I feel about that...

Keeping dope on him in a friend's house (who doesn't know what's up) while M holing (without telling friend who doesn't know what's up)? Not very professional.

Yeah "mholing" on someones couch who doesnt have any clue what the hell mholing is (im guessing that means taking horse tranquilizers until you are catatonic) is the very epitome of kind and understanding.

Damn, I've heard several stories about people buying from the dnm getting busted, and none of them have gotten busted by being tracked via pc.

Tell your boy to get a good lawyer.

It always seems, that drug dealers that use drugs always seem to go down pretty quick.

[18 Points] 1Daniel66:

First of all, tell your boy don't sweat it. It's a federal charge and they have guidelines. Don't give any details. There are levels of severity, of course, when it comes to the named poison. But do the research first. http://www.ussc.gov/guidelines-manual/2013/2013-5asentab. Tl; dr: Be strong and remember, money won't help you in the feds. They go by a chart. Do the crime and ride with it. Best of luck to your friend.

Federal time supercedes state time.

That's what you get when you fuck around with MXE in an environment of people who don't know what the fuck you're doing. Dunce.

[9 Points] Shroomgawd:

Dang that sucks. I would never do drugs around people that aren't cool with or not doing them themselves. Unless it's weed anything else is a no no, that would also be awkward to doing mxe with people that aren't doing it? I could already see it the people not doing it would be staring at him while he's in the hole. Fuck that shit man happened to me when I was younger and took a eighth of shrooms at a bonfire... While everyone else was high on weed was getting tons of stares fuck that learned my lesson

[5 Points] thisismy4rdaccount:

He deserves no sympathy based on what I read. If you are doing drugs around people who don't, they are a massive liability. That does not sound like a careful/smart person as you stated, at ALL.

[5 Points] gradient_x:

I think you need to look at the bigger picture from the societal perspective ... ruining your friend's entire life might be difficult to watch now, but it's a small price to pay for victory in the war on drugs. Just consider how much happier he'll be knowing that his life conforms to societal norms, and he's only ingesting government approved drugs (the little baby Jesus smiles every time you take a shot of tequila). I'm watching on the news now that all the Mexican drug cartels have heard about your friend's impending jail sentence and have decided the throw the towel in ... it's a common sense victory for law and order.

Fuck this pisses me off just reading it ... the random destruction of some kid's life in a nation of "drug users"

Illicit drug use in the United States has been increasing. In 2013, an estimated 24.6 million Americans aged 12 or older—9.4 percent of the population—had used an illicit drug in the past month. This number is up from 8.3 percent in 2002.

[3 Points] None:

This isn't remotely a case of bad luck. It would have taken a brilliant stroke of luck for events to NOT play out as they did. If my non-drug using friends saw me in the state one is in while K/M-holing and didn't take me to the hospital, I'd have some shit friends. I can count on a non-drug user perceiving a K-hole as an overdose 99 out of 100 times.

[3 Points] None:

It's not all over my friend; I, too was royally fucked a few years ago.

One night I was high as a kite when the cops pulled me over for a busted head light.

I was high as a kite, as I had eaten a strip of acid and done half a gram of speed with my best friend earlier that day.

Keep in mind I was dealing at the time, and had the brilliant idea to get rid of my stash, cash out by selling to a friend in another county and focus on my job full time.

So, um, I brought everything with me.

I'll just make this very long story short: I got busted worse than your friend.

They caught me with 2c-b, a bunch of Molly and some methylone. That was nothing compared to the gel caps in my stash they tested as being LSD as well as some brown speed(I tried to dry real quick and instead made brown) they thought was heroin.

What a load of bullshit charges.

So here I was charged with trafficking in Heroin and LSD, possession of 2c-b, Methylone and MDMA, paraphenalia, and, to top it all off, a DUI.

I have never been even slightly in trouble with the law before, but off to the slammer I went. I spent a month in one of the shittiest jails in my state before I got bailed out and got a lawyer. That was the most miserable month I can remember, and only made slightly easier by my friends and family writing me letters(Yeah I know, I'm spoiled).

Look, I was in worse than your friend, and my trafficking charges got dropped because the speed wasn't heroin adn the gel caps weren't LSD. Because of that, I got the option for drug court.

It's not easy by any stretch. It lasts a year, lots of drug tests and meetings, lots of probation officer meets, lots of payments to the county, but at the end of it you get out with a clean record.

It's not all over for your friend. No, he probably won't be going back to that University, and yes, his life is going to suck for next year, but he can come back from this. He can have the life he wanted, but now it's just going to take some time.

I'll wrap this up by saying that when you're in jail, life sucks. It's boring. Rules are in place to make you miserable. But if people contact you, you can have hope. Have a reason to keep on going. I have a great job now, and my life isn't a cesspool of shit.

Write/call/video chat with your friend if you really do care, because these things are what kept me sane while I was in. It means more than you could possibly know if you haven't done time before.

As for everyone else that makes money using the Darknets, if you deal, don't deliver, don't drive funked and shred your goddamn mail.

This isn't a game. It's not for fun. Living like a hermit is the best plan. Trust no one.

[3 Points] DAREtoRipBong:

Assuming he hasn't admitted to anything, and is white (harsh truth of the USA), he quite likely may be able to get off pretty light with a good lawyer given that he is a college student. It's a roll of the dice, but a large percentage of judges will see him as a "kid with a bright future who made one stupid mistake", and he may be able to avoid even getting charged with a crime by being proactive and selling the story that he's an addict who wants to reform. By doing so he could get off with no felony drug charge or jail time and instead get probation and mandatory rehab. Happened to someone I know who was facing potentially international trafficking crimes under similar circumstances: extremely felonious quantities of a very illegal substance imported internationally. So there is potentially hope.

[3 Points] rabidz7:

[2 Points] ManOfIndica:

Ive been through almost the same thing, MYSELF. I just got out of a rehab/prison after being there for 1 year. Now, Im on probation and should be off by October. To start out, I should add that I had the absolute worst technical opsec and I was still safe, its all about the practical real life opsec. When the cops took my Windows 8 latop with tor and iphone 5s, they were unable to get anything. I used to order btc off coinbase and used my mothers identity then sent them straight to my DNM wallets. So one day (I was a minor at the time) I heard my parents talking about calling the police about my obvious drug operation and it triggered a panic attack because last time I heard that conversation I got sent to rehab for 15 months by them. So I started taking mass benzos ( I was using 6mg of alpraz/clonaz a day for sleep), and Im talking mass benzos from the DN like 30 10mg diazepam, 15 2mg Rivotril, 15 1mg alprazolam, 5 .25 Pfizer Halcions, and 5 7.5 mg midazolams (dormicum) all throughout the night to try and calm down. It just wouldnt put me to sleep for some reason so around 7 am I started texting my girlfriend at the time so incoherent nonsense but I think I mentioned something about my world ending or something stupid. So she called 911 and reported an overdose, then before I knew it a police officer was in my room sticking a gun in my face shouting. I had all my drugs practically showcased in my closet and the room reeked of cannabis. So the officer stuck his head in the closet and then called in the cavalry. I ended up leaving the house when the detectives and dogs rolled in to go to the hospital because I was panicking and demanded more benzos. They ended up giving me 2 1mg tablets of xanax and I passed out, woke up with IV in and EKG all over my chest. I went home and 3 months later when labs results came in I was arrested at school and charged with 12 felony drug possession charges + a few trafficking. I also had the discarded boxes they came in, inside my trash which they collected. I could go way deeper but the details are unnecessary. I was sent to rehab/prison for a year and now I am free! I will be able to smoke real cannabis very soon.

my condolences, fuck the pigs, don't lose hope till he speaks to a lawyer, and get a good lawyer

[1 Points] ThisCouldVeryWellSuc:

That sucks man, I hate hearing shit like this. I'm sure he was a nice guy that just got careless. But like you said, you got to remember the law and know there are serious consequences for the shit a lot of us in here are guilty of, at least from time to time.

To me what really sucks, is the punishment truly DOES NOT fit the crime.

Hope his sentense is not as bad as projected.

[1 Points] Asmithpoker:

If he is really a nice kid and its a 1st offence hope for some type of drug court. He will be back to normal in a few years. I hope...

Isn't this literally the joke in the security videos? How no security can prevent someone looking over you shoulder?

[1 Points] heyfreshhhhh:

Does his state not have Good Samaritan laws?

[1 Points] deceptivelyelevated:

You saying he was the most careful DNM user adds zero validity... You literally state that you talked to him about his opsec, therefore he had none. You knew, others new, snitching happens... Also, felony is a pretty broad term, and most federal charges are prosecuted by the state, they have minimum quantities before they take over.. I.e. 1000lbs of pot kilos of h blah blah blah... Your just bugging out.. and the grapevine is full of shit...

[1 Points] Ishmael_KingOfTheSea:

Damn. It's what I was afraid of the very first time I ever smoked pot in college. What would I do if I got caught? The cops wouldn't look at me any different than the people doing heroin or crack and they wouldn't show me any pity.

It's how I still look at it now. You can get used to the life, but it can cost you yours. Always be careful with what you've got, always treat it like you could be nabbed when you've got it in hand. You've got to be careful with everything.

[1 Points] dawgiee:

A lot of people in this thread do not seem to understand the difference between state and federal charges. Theres a couple things about federal charges that mean you're completely fucked for life:

1.)Forget about defending yourself with a lawyer. 99% of cases are guilty pleas because the prosecution will say 'Take this, or we're going to trial and you'll be doing 30 years minimum'

2.)There are no deferred sentences, rehab instead of jail, halfway houses, etc

3.)Judges have very little say in the sentencing. Sentences are based on the federal sentencing guidelines. Letters and pleads to the judge are mostly futile. Edit: Also, lots of mandatory minimums, where judges don't mean shit.

4.)Last and DEFINITELY the most important part. You can NOT get rid of a federal felony EVER. There is no expungement, no 35c motions, NOTHING. The ONLY way to remove a federal felony is by presidential pardon. Even then, you still need to declare that you have a pardoned felony when asked.

You do NOT want to get caught up with the feds. Once you're in you're done.

The only good thing about the feds is that the prisons are somewhat safer, and for the low security inmates (which your friend will be), they usually end up in what's called a Camp.

[1 Points] jerzze18:

This is clearly LE making up a story to try to get us to stop because that's all they can hope to do at this point.

and when he comes out he will not be allowed back into the top university that he was so proud to be a part of and he will be a felon

You might be surprised how forgiving universities can be of drug charges. Ultimately, they want people to succeed and non-violent crimes generally aren't total disqualifiications. Now, if he had weapons charges or violent offenses that might be a different story, but if after he's released from prison he can make steps to show that he's turning his life around (e.g. start a community college and then transfer) he can probably get around drug issues.

Point in case, my ex is/was a meth addict and she got busted with enough to force her to plea to felony possession, intent to distribute, etc, and today she's going to a fairly prestigious university.

[1 Points] DragonZOM:

It's probably too late, but he does have an option IF he has large amounts of cash. Pay someone to take a hit. The feds like any other LEO drug asshole, want to ruin as many lives as they can with the draconian drug laws. Find someone that will "sell" you some minor amount of weed, that gets them MAX 1-2 years maybe even probation pay them 20k, make sure you are doing it with the feds "cooperation" and the Feds will lower the poor guys sentence, possible even to under a year WHICH would mean he does not qualify as a "felon", anything non-violent under a year they are allowed to own firearms and such. SO we are clear IF the feds figure out what you are doing THAT WOULD BE BAD, like more charges bad. Also the chances are REALLY good your friend will "Scum bag out" and opt to rat on someone, it's like 90+% of people do, so not uncommon.

[0 Points] Vendor_BBMC:

You have to be alone, or with somebody you trust to take a dissociative like ketamine / MXE / PCP in doses large enough to produce general anesthesia (or "holing")

Your friend must have terrified the friends he was staying with. Imagine finding your druggy guests passed out and uncommunicative, thinking two people are going to die in your house?

Dissociative users are often headcases who want to get smashed, block it all out and end up a sloppy mess. They're not cerebral drugs, you don't make psychological breakthroughs and they don't make you more sociable or fun. Why would your friend do that to somebody?

Do them at home so people don't have to step over you or clean up the mess that results from your walnut-sized bladder if K is your drug of choice.
