Any way to be sure vendor is not LE?

Is there any way you could make sure a vendor is not LE? I'm hesitant to send an encrypted email with my actual name and address to a vendor when I go to place my first order.. it seems like the perfect way for LE to compile information on people who want drugs. Am I just expected to trust the vendor because there is a bunch of positive feedback? A bunch of one liners from "anon" all basically saying "FE for a great vendor" doesn't make me any less hesitant to just give up personal information. Seems like feedback wouldn't be all too hard to fake. I was thinking maybe to ask a vendor to email me a picture with the date written on a peice of paper next to the drugs I want. What do you guys think? I guess buying drugs on the darknet involves some blind trust

It is not cost effective at all for LE to send you drugs, wait for you to receive them in the mail, and then bust you. It would make no sense for LE to do this. They are more concerned with vendors and site admins.

If LE was to do this, why would taking a picture with the date and drugs mean anything? All they'd have to do would be to make a trip to the evidence room, grab some (insert drug here), and take a quick picture.

Buying drugs from the DarkNet involves informed trust, but never should it involve blind trust.

It doesn't HAVE to involve blind trust unless you're using a market that requires you to deposit your coins into an account wallet. I have never once seen a vendor on TheMarketPlace that requires FE, but many vendors on SR did require FE - even SR 1.0.

As far as making sure that a vendor is not LE, I wouldn't worry about it unless you're buying in bulk. Even if you did order some weed or ecstasy from LE posing as a vendor, they would still need to do some kind of controlled delivery in order to pin you with the crime. As long as your follow these basic principles, you could be purchasing from the Attorney General himself and still be safe.

1) Never EVER send coins directly from the exchange/market where you bought them to your site's wallet or to your vendor. If you're not going to mix your coins, you should create a few anonymous blockchain wallets (while connected through TOR) and then send the money to those wallets first. This introduces "plausible deniability" between your bitcoin purchase and the vendor you're sending coins to.

2) Never EVER sign for a package when you're expecting a delivery. (Which is a good reason not to buy anything legit during that time.) If someone shows up to your house and wants you to sign: you don't know what they're talking about, you haven't ordered anything, and you're not signing for a package that you are not expecting. For all you know, it's a bomb. Or someone's trying to get you in trouble. You dig?

3) I'm sure people will disagree with me, but you should only browse the darknet and make purchases while using TAILS (or a similar anonymous/amnesic) environment. Not only does this help ensure that you're not leaking any clearnet traffic that could identify you, but it prevents evidence (search phrases, browsing history, cookies, etc.) about your illicit activities from building up on your computer.

It's not quite blind trust, anymore than buying illegal goods on the street is. In fact, it's probably less; the chances that LE set up an account and multiple shills just to nab people who attempt to purchase drugs online, unless they actually send it and do it a CD, which has another cost/benefit barrier, are incredibly slim. Read the forums of markets to avoid all the "FE" feedback.

Honestly I wouldn't worry about a vendor being LE. The bigger risk is in the market itself being compromised, and the possibility of LE going after not only vendors, but possibly smaller buyers.

Always check the forums, not just their feedback. It is totally possible to fake feeback and it happens all the time. Also, encryption and anonymity.

I think if I were a vendor and a buyer asked me to jump through hoops like sending a pic with the date on a piece of paper, I'd be inclined to ignore that buyer. Just my personal opinion.

I dont think its worth LE time to go after small time drug users...if they really wanted a collar itd be alot easier to go downtown and set a sting operation on the corner up..Imo...but i was skeptical at first too...but if tyou think about it, its alot safer then going somewhere to buy it and have to drive home with it...

If you encrypted your real name and address and sent it to the vendor. And that information gets turned over to an someone in LE. Who is to say that you are actually the one that sent that email?

Maybe bob from down the street wants some drugs but is using your house as a drop?

They don't come to your door and arrest you because your name and address is on illegal imported drugs.

Most cases the drugs get seized, and you get a letter telling you this, However, sometimes you may get a letter telling you the package has been seized, and they need your signature to hand over the package. They do this when there is a larger amount of drugs.

Then if your stupid enough and actually go to the post office and sign for the package, then that's more than enough evidence to prove that you were indeed expecting the shipment. You could expect to get greeted by 6 or so police with weapons drawn when you leave the post office.
