the U.S. Postal Service handles more than 155 billion pieces of mail per annum, with a billion-plus going through Chicago

Of that total, just shy of 8,000 packages containing marijuana were seized in 2014; they cumulatively contained approximately 40,000 pounds of cannabis or cannabis-related products.

ABC7 cites "several people who said they have sent marijuana in the mail from Colorado. They did not want to be identified, but said they have never been caught."

Crazy that the average shipment seized seems to be 5 lbs. I would've guessed a lot of packs sent from CO were QPs to friends out of state, 5 lb average points more to mid level dealing

[2 Points] RosyPalm:

How many of them originated in Colorado? ABC7 doesn't have those figures...

So this "report" raises a question, and then utterly fails to answer it.

Seeing that Rocky Mountain prohibition group, and the LEOs that belong to it, are still actively spreading their lies is a bit disheartening. Seeing they've still got the attention of media outlets even more so.

[2 Points] fulofshit:

Although I feel for those who lost their packs and possibly their freedom, these numbers are pretty good. With the average amount being 5 lbs seized per pack that tells me it is better to ship a lot of smaller packs than it is to ship a few bigger ones.

IMO weed in large amounts is a stupid thing to send through the mail.

I heard if a package is under 11 ounces they don't look into it too much unless they have a big reason too, like it reaking or being profiled, or even vendor forgot to tape a sidelol

The things you have to worry about are smell, address and postage. As long as you take care of those 3, you'll be good. Vacuum sealing changed the game. It's virtually undetectable. I got shipments in from Cali. The shit reeked like no other and they didn't have a clue.
