Careful: Sudden Bitmixer Shutdown is a Red Flag for Bitcoin 'Anonymity'

One of the oldest and most popular Bitcoin "mixing" services, Bitmixer, has announced it's shutting down operations. While operators were vague on reasons, it appears they may be spooked by recent law enforcement activity against dark net marketplaces.

I thought dude that ran it said he doesn't believe in bitcoin being used for drugs and weapons so he shutting down and not even selling company

Yes, thats right.

The guy is basically stressing out that AB went down through Blockchain Analysis, that's how they found Alex in the first place and then just threw the info with his email address as well.

Through design and implementations, bitcoin does not provide he privacy some people would expect. I wonder if bitcoin will drop in value once people are aware of this.
