RosesGarden - Is melt protection really necessary?

I just ordered some hash gummies from RosesGarden (Agora) and the vendor page says that he/she recommends getting melt protection if you live somewhere with temperatures exceeding 75 degrees. Well, I live in a pretty hot state but it's been cooling down a lot lately. I didn't get melt protection because it was an extra 20 bucks. What are the chances of my gummies melting? And if they do melt, are they completely ruined? Thanks.

It's not an extra $20, it's an extra $9.50. Priority shipping is $10.50 and priority melt protection is $20 (first class melt protection is not offered because it would defeat the purpose).

I used regular first class mail for RosesGarden's chocolate bar a few weeks ago, but it would have melted if I didn't grab it from the mailbox within a half hour. Even though it was only like 75degF, the mailbox heats up quite nicely. So if you can grab it right after delivery, melt protection isn't necessary. I don't think packages normally get too hot in transit.

I would do it if you want them to stay intact. I haven't bought them but I do make gummy (not weed) candies and they get melted pretty easily. They wouldn't get ruined as in inedible or not potent, but they would glob together and make a big mess. You could refrigerate them and they will form back up, just won't look as good.

So WTF is melt protection? Ice pack?

The one time I ordered those gummies (which i actually didn't find very potent at all) I thought I would be good due to the season when I ordered them and the fact that the weather is usually pretty cool, but that week we just HAD to have "unexpected heat flashes".

The gummies showed up in a big ball of gelatinous goo :)

I guess all I'm trying to say with my silly story is that you can never be too careful!
