LocalBitcoins SMS verification?

Has LocalBitcoin's policy changed recently? Every trader that I am trying to use for a cash deposit is saying that I need an SMS verification. Ive been using LBC for a while now and havent seen anything like this before. Does this mean that I need to get a burner phone?

I wish I could just fucking use LibertyX but there isnt a location anywhere near me.

Have noticed this myself the past couple of months. One seller even requested that I cancel the trade and go again with a clearnet browser (his words too).

There's one guy in the UK who doesn't require these things, at least not as of last week, but they're definitely clamping down on cash deposits.

Maybe they just want to see that your phone number has been verified? I'm not sure, especially if you're looking for higher amounts. I'm sure you're using your real identity on LBC so why not verify? I'm not sure if this is the case, I never seen an SMS verification when I had to get BTCs. And you must live in the middle of nowhere if there is no libertyx near you.
