Vendor claims he can't decrypt my address and I should use igolder.com, should I be worried?

I'm not sure if this is a mistake on my behalf, or this is a shady vendor:

I placed an order with a well reviewed vendor for the first time on Nucleus (over 300 5 star ratings, even better rated on Agora) and sent my address encrypted using their public key, following the same process I use with every order. The vendor sent me a message asking for my address again, once again I encrypted it and sent it to the vendor, they again claimed they could not decrypt it and that I should use igolder.com, I then started over with the encryption (deleted their public key, re-added it) and sent my address again: he once again claims that it does not work and replied with:

its not working mate, use igolder.com mate and just copy and paste my public key directly etc

I have placed orders with multiple vendors before and after the order with this vendor and I have never had a problem with a vendor decrypting my address. At this point I'm confused: why wouldn't he be able to decrypt my message, should I assume that the vendor is compromised and ask to cancel my order and move on? I'm not comfortable using igolder and I don't understand why he thinks this will solve the problem...

Any thoughts?

That sounds shady as fuck. Especially since you gave it to him again. I personally wouldnt use igolder and would just go with another vendor. What vendor did you buy from?

[8 Points] J0NJ0NES:

When you encrypt your information always include two recipients, the intended recipient and yourself. That way you can quickly decrypt the info yourself before sending it to make sure something didn't go wrong in the encryption process.

[8 Points] ziz1:

Are you using Tails? If so, make sure that you do not use the "Hide recipients" option. That can confuse people and lead to decryption failures, depending on what client they are using and how it is configured. Don't sign your message either.

igolder.com is useless. You may as well just send your unencrypted messages directly to fbi.gov.

Cancel the order immediately and contact support.

At this point, Im thinking we should have a rule that doesnt allow not naming vendors in posts like this except in extreme situations. It's so self serving in that the OP wants an answer without giving any information back to the community.

[2 Points] None:

Send it encrypted one more time double checking if he cant open it its le or someone trying to get addresses that isnt him. I would cancel the order asap after or bring it to the resolution center whichever need be

[2 Points] footlockervip:

I would say with 100% certainty DO NOT DO IT.

It could be that his account was hacket. or taken over by LE, and they dont have his private key and password.

Maybe its not, but in the off chance that it is, bring your business somewhere else/

[2 Points] free-agent:

It is possible the vendor account is hacked/phished. Guy logged cant decrypt, but wants you to FE so he can take your coin. Cancel the order.

[1 Points] None:

Somethings fishy, cancel your oder. The vendor is likely compromised and trying to get you to cleartext your address.

[1 Points] DarknetHeroesLeague:

If you have to use anything at all then use Hansewin PGP encrypt.

just google it.

Igolder is totally useless.

I had a vendor one time that never could decrypt my messages to him, and I eventually used SMS4TOR to send it to him. It worked pretty flawlessly.

[1 Points] ass-fister:

Found this from a few months ago. Is it the same vendor?

[1 Points] None:

just dont encrypt

[0 Points] Jackaroopz32:

The same thing happened to me actually. Vendor couldn't decrypt my message even after several tries, however I was using igolder and worked when I switched to another method.

[-1 Points] ThreeKingsID:

that's pretty common, my pgp program is fucked up or something and I've had more than one vendor tell me to go there to encrypt, it seems legit but could theoretically be le, so could privnote etc. though. if you're just a buyer I wouldn't get paranoid about it

[-2 Points] 3chainzyolo2:

its legit

[-4 Points] None:

you have been hacked, contact support immediately

good luck and keep us updated
