Seems all this hansa shit could have been avoided had the admins set up a competent dead mans system, why is this not common practice, if it wasn't surely should be from now on.

I suppose if LE gets access to a server, one of the first thing they do is pull an image of the whole system. So if even there's a dead man switch, they can always restore it and probably disable the switch if they want to continue operation.
