If you make a new forums account on alphabay, chances are you're going to get a phishing message from an account that sounds like its an alphabay staff, but if you click the user then there are no tags and the spelling is wrong and there are strange emails with the accounts. It might ask you to link your forums and market account, which is something that we do not do at alphabay. It could be sending you a "quick deposit" address and claim that the market is currently unable to process deposits, which again is obviously incorrect. It could be a lot of things, but all of them have the same goal of stealing money from new users.
Almost every time I visit our new user bar, there is at least 1 obvious phisher account with a name like adminbigmuscles executivetrappy aiphabaysupp0rt and so on. They often have an avatar from the admins or staff as well. I cannot monitor this spot all the time. Occasionally they impersonate a large vendor but these are uncommon compared to staff impersonations.
This is not good. I ban a lot of phishers each day, all of us at alphabay do but there are so many. I need your help, and I need it badly and I need it soon.
Make an alphabay forums account and go here

All I'm asking is that you report those obvious phishers. Myself or another staff will see the report and ban the phisher. The phishers sometimes report each other too which I find very funny.
Could you make forum posts from Alphabay staff a different colour background or something, to make them impossible to mimic?
It would save a lot of problems. Alphabay users who are told "you got phished" often assume its alphabay staff stealing from them and using "phishing" as an alibi.
Check to see how other marketplaces manage to prevent this problem. Or maybe its because they ban fraudsters rather than catering to them.
I fear more people joining the forum to police it will just bring a fresh influx of inexperienced rubes to be grifted by whoever is behind all this fraud. Maybe it would be better to close the forum altogether if you can't keep it safe and make admin accounts visibly different to completely eradicate phishing.
We all want an end to fraudsters, right? Mmmm? Right? he's gone...

I was expecting this to be something about being a Tor node, not becoming fresh AB fodder.
