There's an interesting post over r/opiates

About a cop who regularly posts on the sub.

There was a mention of him on here a while back but I was wondering how the DNM community would feel about a cop regularly posting in this sub

I imagine there are LE lurkers all over the place but someone actually coming out and admitting being a cop (or even customs or postal workers) is a bit different

What would be your reaction? Would you interact with them?

I would guess that we have cops posting around here. I'm talking about actual legitimate posters, not undercover LE trying to fuck us.

Cops, like "regular" people, do drugs, lie, steal, cheat, leer at hot chicks, kick their dogs, drive like shit, chew with their mouths open, drink to much, experience self-doubt, insecurity, loniliness, get constipated, get the shits, watch sports, watch reality TV, pick their noses, and hate cats.

For some reason they just decided to be professional assholes, and for not a lot of money. (But they get a lot of free coffee.)

[46 Points] None:

If someone said they were just a normal cop, then yeah I would just talk to them. Probably probe for trade secrets/ways to get out of tickets.

If it's a legit certifiable 3 letter agent, then I'm burning my fingerprints off before I even enter a thread with them.

[36 Points] DefinitelyNOTthe_DEA:

No way man! I'd be be all like, go away, cops, so I can commit my felonies and sell my dopes to children and whatnot!

You understand, seeing how we're both totally criminals and NOT cops.

Speaking of which, anyone got any cool felonies planned??

I'm a regular over there and he seems like an alright guy really. He gives us info on the LE side of things and often gives great advice in terms of keeping people from getting arrested. I think he's one of the few that actually have some compassion towards junkies. He's also stated that since he's started browsing he's let quite a few users go who just had small amounts. Instead just making them dump it.

[11 Points] oh_no_five_oh:

You guys don't have anything to worry about with me. I'm not a 3 letter guy and online shit is too time consuming...me and mine have better things to concentrate on.

[8 Points] druggieslut:

Chances are cops are already here. We should be acting the way we would act if cops are around.

At least if they posted and admitted they were cops, we could have a couple as "friends"

Keep your friends close, keep your enemies closer.

postal workers

We've got one of those, though!

Its a free internet, and freedom of speech is the most valuable assett on the internet, next to anonymity...Let them post, it only gives us insight.

[3 Points] coffeencreme:

The guy is OK to be honest, I probably wouldn't get into a direct conversation with him to be honest especially if it implicated me in any way, but I don't mind him being around.

I generally tend to assume LE are reading every thread I post in (I know they probably aren't) anyway and act accordingly.

We had a postal worker on the sub back in the days, he did a couple of AMAs...nice guy, interesting.

[3 Points] throwaway8089078:

All I know is I would want them to be flared appropriately once they were out so they'd be easier to spot. "Crooked DEA Agent" or "Nothing to See Here, Folks" have a nice ring to them, I think.

[2 Points] drimilr:

Ive read a brief a bunch of his postings and he seems like a cop with his head on straight and has compassion. I usually make it a point to read what he writes.

Hes not hiding in the corners, he is upfront about who he is and why he is there.

[2 Points] None:

I had an exchange with him, after I inquired about him to another poster and he was summoned here (much to my initial uncomfortableness) let me pull it up

[2 Points] DareToHope:

We had a USPS guy do an AMA a few times. We also have a few people claim to be lawyers.

[2 Points] rogueXleader:

Depends on their stance on the war on drugs. There are quite a few folks in law enforcement who actually advocate for ending the failed policy or at the very least decriminalizing drug use and using those funds for better treatment of addiction and mental illness. The two go hand-in-hand. I, personally, would enjoy having a conversation with one of the members of LEAP (Law Enforcement Against Prohibition)

What is this?

[1 Points] mulanketma:

I would have none of it.

[1 Points] LocalLawEnforcement:

If your security depends on LE not being here, then you have bigger problems to deal with. Best to assume we, they are always here.

[1 Points] BatmanBinBatman:

Normal people turn out to be police officers all of the time. Of course they are reading these threads. Do not give out information or personal details.

[1 Points] alfredonoodles:

What about Private Investigators, I am sure there are plenty on reddit, do they count as LE?

[1 Points] DEA_Agent_John:

Cops do drugs, drink and do illegal shit like the rest of us. I wouldnt be concerned with some low level joe but if its an undercover trying to sting then thats a problem, but theres no way you could really know that technically i would interact with someone that could prove the were LE otherwise you never know if they are undercover trying to fuck you lol.
