What about a market where you pay vendors directly?

I've been buying drugs online since 2001, back then it was PayPal or bank transfer.

Out of hundreds and hundreds of deals over the years, I have only been burned 3 times, each of those 3 happened in the last few years with the rise of dark net markets, each time due to a market exit scam.

I would much prefer a market whereby they held no escrow nor handled any money whereby I would pay a vendor directly, yet still retain the features of a centralised market with reviews etc...

Of course, vendors can run exit scams but they affect a much smaller proportion of users and generally speaking vendors with a good history are less likely to want to destroy their business and more likely to want to keep operating to make more money in the long run.

As a buyer, you should spread your risk across multiple vendors. Don't just pick the number 1 guy and spend all your coins, spread it around, find out who's good and remember if you do get scammed by a shit vendor that it's better than everyone getting scammed.

It is interesting watching these exit scams. In the research chemical community, almost all deals are direct using non-refundable payment methods, but they appear (from my standpoint) to have fewer problems with scamming than the DNMs, because as soon as a vendor starts screwing up, word spreads like wildfire and orders stop.

Then again, there are probably a ton of neophytes getting scammed. Just don't hear about them, because the person isn't active on the popular subreddits and forums.

You mean like DHL?

[5 Points] Ustonovic:

But how would the DNM make $$$?

[2 Points] iTHCyou:

Mostly because of escrow, seems people are unaware of other ways to set up escrow when paying someone

[2 Points] Trilla666:

its called DHL . its very nice

[2 Points] alwaysthrowaways:

I agree. I trust vendors more than markets. And a scamming vendor has a much smaller impact than a scamming market.

[2 Points] None:

Yeah sites with no erscow where vendors just simply pay to have their listing there week by week is the best way I agree. I've been buying online since 2005 and never had a problem like that either, whereas on the darknet markets I've been burned much worse, both by markets and vendors.

[2 Points] smellmyass1:

its all risky if you ask me fella Now the downside to all of this is unless you find a vendor that trusts you and depends on YOUR reputation all of your direct deals would be FE deals. Many vendors are FE only already and a decent amount of you FE already. My advice to you is stick to the bigger vendors,

The ones who do this for a living and cannot afford to throw away their "career" for scamming you out of a $500 order. Stick with the vendors who need your business, the ones that are customer service orientated, the ones that have been around a while.

WIll exit scams still happen? Sure they will. Do they happen now all the time? Sure they do. We believe it will actually cut down on the frequency of these since we would know every deal is an FE deal and if you have several claims of packs not arriving then that's the end of the vendor's "career" and

To come back under a new name isn't as easy as spending $500 on a bond and having instant trust because there's a market, disputes, and escrow offered. In other words it will become much more expensive and time consuming to scam.

we really like Acropolis its a good market so far , but DHL is also really good they dont allow just anyone to come in there and vend , and they have strict rules . a vendor doesn't follow them, or not pay your onsite bills theyll boot you out and have a new vendor to take your place by the end of the day it like super clear when you sign up for it . For buyers its a safe market But Acropolis/EIc have multi sig

[1 Points] TheRealDealMarket:

Well, there are a few issues with this idea (how will the market get its fees? how will there be an option for escrow? etc..)

But we at trdealmgn4uvm42g.onion hope that sooner or later (and are actually counting on this) - users will understand that the only way for a market not to exit scam is non-centralized escrow...

We use %100 multisig and the address generated for each order is controlled by 2-out-of-3 signatures, meaning a transaction must be signed by 2 out of 3 participants (buyer, vendor, admin) in order to get accepted on the blockchain...Hence we can't wake up one day and leave with your coins. redeem scripts and raw transactions are fully visible and can be verified with sites/services like coinb.in - and even signed and broadcasted outside the market (notice that if the market fee is removed from the transaction the user gets banned automagically, in case you were wondering)

[1 Points] Vendor_BBMC:

You mean FE?

I think most vendors accept payment upfront like in a normal shop, especially on uncertain marketplaces like alphabay where we want to get the money out and safe as quickly as possible.

At the moment, alphabay has been preventing vendors from withdrawing BECAUSE we don't trust them and customers FE.

That's exactly the wrong way to build trust with vendors, but the right way to exit scam. The most successful exit scams maximize deposits, but minimize vendor withdrawals.

The first and most important responsibility for a marketplace is unfettered access to our funds by vendors.

[1 Points] DexOyama:

the market your talking about is DHL they have the option to pay the vendor directly

[1 Points] hog_master:

It's called DD I already do it.

[1 Points] Pelican_Vendor:

DHL direct pay goes right to vendor wallet

[1 Points] CosmicBites:

CosmicBItes built a really simple Dark Net store that works this way. If any vendors want their own store let us know. We can make a search interace so people can search all the stores from a single URL

[1 Points] CosmicBites:

CosmicBItes can setup a basic store like this http://ye224web57i3gblr.onion/category/Flowers for only 20$ per month. All payment addresses are loaded into backend and the payments go right to the vendors. Even if the site were to go down vendors get paid and the orders go out! We can even make a URL that searches all the vendor stores to make look and act more like a market

Speaking as someone waiting an inordinate amount of time on a domestic order I'm glad the money is in escrow and not in the vendor's wallet. It encourages vendors to ship items quickly and resolve disputes in a timely manner so they can get paid. It took the perosn I'm dealing with 3 days to respond to a message and I still have no information on my order. If they already had my money there'd be no reason to respond at all. Sure I could spread the word, but it won't get me my money back. Worst case scenario I've potentially angered someone that has my personal info.

Your idea sounds great for the marketplace (they do almost nothing and still get commission) and the seller (they get money immediately) but as a buyer I would rather direct deal with someone I trust or leave the money in the market's escrow.

[1 Points] bhhoe:

if that were to be done there would have to be some incentive for the market to keep their doors open and free of le. else wise who would actually spend the time to make a market and keep it running without getting anything outta it besides to know a bunch of potheads are getting stoned. i love the idea but i would think that you would stll need to do a monthly vendor fee to be able to keep it running.

[1 Points] None:

If a market ever has control of the money, you're referring to FE. If the market never had the money, it's just a Direct Deal. Your idea exists and is in fact what was mostly used until 4ish years ago.

[1 Points] grandpajoe_dnm:

ya mean like email?

:)

[1 Points] regulardarknetguy:

emailmarket, fully functional picture of a cool doge and price list for weed nugs. much features, wow. such comprehensiveness

[1 Points] None:

Well why would anyone spend their time, money, and risk going to prison to create a market in which they don't make any money...? If you pay the vendor directly than the market makes nothing.

[-1 Points] None:

Isn't this technically considered fe? Lol
