A decentralized system -- proposed solution to prevent LE intervention

I posted this paper here a long time ago (shortly after SR 1 had fallen). It discusses a possible solution to prevent LE from breaking down darknet markets. I personally do not think that the future of darknet markets will be in the centralized type systems we see today. They are simply too prone to detection and destruction, since they just run from a single (or a few) physical location(s), which is/are in the end always controlled by a government that is willing to take them down (and actively pursuits that willingness).

Back when I posted this there was no interest. In the light of the current events there may be more appreciation for this idea. That is why I decided to post this again. The idea is everything but perfect, but it sets a start for the eventually needed evolution of darknet markets.

Please discuss. All ideas are welcome.

Interesting.

This is very interesting, sounds really awesome if it can actually be done, although I am not an expert by any means.

I'm not really sure about the whole idea of the interwoveness concept of the feedback section. What if one account is just used to be a regular for a certain vendor? Does this honest buyers feedback not count as much too?

EDIT: Yes they did say that they would encourage people to act in the manner they want but you can't just simply change the way people work with their accounts just with a suggestion.

OpenBazaar is currently under development, and can be used right now (if you're on linux/osx) but won't be totally up and running for another few months, and a windows version should be out then too.

It's open source, and operates much like Freenet where it runs in the background and your browser connects to it directly.

If openbazaar doesn't save the day, then there aren't really any other options. The only weakness I see, at that point, is bitcoin itself.

The government, in my mind, will ultimately be forced to crack down hard by restricting a lot of freedoms that we take for granted, all in the name of preventing the unpreventable. Freedom always prevails.
