Aero cannot be trusted, Dream is sketchy with the BTCs, so why do we continue to use these when there are shops ran by well-known figures in the community? I don't get it...
Why do people continuously use untrustworthy markets rather than using a shop ran by a well-known vendor?

Ok one problem with well-known vendor shops is that no escrow. They could literally run off with money and you'd have no proof that you even made that order since they're in control of the systems. They could delete the account and that's it.
Another one is I've seen some vendor shops which look like they were created by a 10 year old. Vendor shops normally have less security. Not the well-known ones but regular ass ones.
And not many vendor shops, also you have to consider the time and effort put in to the onion that they put in some of the price into their products. They will be less competitive that other vendors for sure unless it's GG. Only GG has cheaper products.

I have no clue why everyone is not on Zion. I guess because during that bad DDOS attack Dream was able to have more uptime. But since then Zion has always been up and my sales have gone smoothly. Plus it is the only market that can't exit scam.

If you are considering using a vendor's personal site then you should just do a direct deal. Here's why.
It's THEIR site. If they are going to rip you off they would be able to delete your feedback and forum posts anyway. (That is, IF they even have a feedback system & a forum on their site) So it IS a direct deal for all intents and purposes.
You have zero recourse if they scam you, just like a Direct deal. So you may as well just do the direct deal and not bother with their stupid website.

I got spooked on aero and cancelled an order. Was able to withdraw no problems though. Was only $65 but went through.
Can't ever get on Dream so I'd be worried vendors would have the same issues.

We just started our own private vendor store and so far sales has been slow. It requires a lot more advertising in the beginning but once people know where to find you it is fine. The loss of money due to exit scams is about the same for customers, but vendors are not depended on the markets anymore, which also allowed us for a +- 5% reduction on all prices.
What would be great is a universal feedback system that pulls all feedback from all markets (and ideally from AB and TR and HANSA aswel haha) and allows people to add private store feedback without the option for vendors to remove any.

Because there's a deeply rooted (but false) belief that escrow will save you from professional scammers. And scammers gonna scam regardless.

From the customers perspective there isn’t much difference between that and FEing on a regular market. I don’t like that shit because it’s the darknet equivalent of letting your money walk which I’ve always thought of as a big no-no in the drug buying world.
You’re putting tons of trust into the vendor by using their personal onion or doing a DD (same thing basically, the site just makes people feel better about it). I’m not opposed to ever doing this, but it’s something I would do rarely. You’re trusting that the feedback on the vendors on site if any is accurate, trusting that they’ll ship your full order after you’ve already given them money (& if they don’t who are you going to complain to? there’s no support team), trusting the security of their site, trusting that the site actually works properly etc. I’ve heard of people sending btc on personal onions and then having no record of the transaction on the site for whatever reason. I typically want some sort of layer of protection between me and the vendor even though obviously shit can go wrong on the markets too.

Unfortunately, depending on your DOC, this isn't always an option

People are dumb
Are there really that many trusted vendor shops? GG is the only one I'd trust more money than I could afford to loose with.
