Alphabay is offline

We are moving some servers of the marketplace infrastructure and upgrading others. To complete the process in a secure manner, the marketplace will be offline for up to 24 hours. This is necessary to be able to manage the recent user increase on the marketplace. All auto-finalize timers will be extended for 24 hours. All deposits will be automatically added. Non-processed withdrawals have been refunded to user balances. The forums will remain online during the transfer. Thanks for being a part of the Alphabay community and we will be right back!

Use the opportunity to fix your listings count

At first yesterday withdrawals were said they'd be back in 2 hours or so. Then later at night it was maintenance for 4-5 hours and now I wake up 12+ hours later to see an extended 24 hours maintenance.

Oh well..

I guess they realized trying to upload several GB of data to a new server over Tor was a slow and trying process. Hell, it bad enough to do it over the clearnet.

On the first day of the work week... camon! Timing is horrible guys, but you have to do what you must, get back online soon<3

About time. The market was beginning to get slow recently. We need better infrastructure to handle the market's inevitable increase in traffic, although it had been increasing steadily for a couple months now. The load times were getting ridiculous for everything.

Not really offline.

AlphaBay is next to exit scam for sure. People that steal for a living aren't exactly worthy of your trust to hold millions of dollars.

All I can say is daaaaaaaamn. After spending countless hours learning tor, tails, pgp, dnm do's/don'ts (and still not sure I should have checked "encrypt message to seller" after putting my already encrypted address in the message box for my first three DNM purchases ever) I get to wait for this to see what this is about. Frustrating? Nah...but it's feeling more like driving into the hood and handing some teenager on the corner $125 to hopefully bring back a half ass decent bag of herb every day.

What are the chances the site will actually run better/faster than before?

I don't think there's any reason to start freaking out, makes sense that they would take time to fix shit. I was getting sick of seeing a blank screen every time I wanted to look at a listing. I'm not worried, but it would really suck if they did exit scam. I like AlphaBay and haven't had any problems with them yet. Guess only time will tell...
