Just a simple question.
Is it safer privacywise for direct deals than buying from a market?
Just a simple question.

If the vendor you're dealing with gets busted, and he kept cleartext logs of customers, and their info, you're fucked. Same thing if a market goes down and people (for whatever fucking reason) failed to encrypt their addresses.

Depending on the product.
Cetain product might take up more space, and smell a lot stronger than other product which may have no odor and take up a very small space.
With DNM you intoduce btc purchasing/tracking, market scamming, btc fluctuations, vendor scamming, mail theft, postal inspection, and computer traces into the equation. Who knows who keeps records of what, especially if you are dealing with a long list of vendors. Depending on your irl connection, it is probably much less complicated than all that. That being said, the darknet system is setup to me more anonymous, if utilized correctly.

if the vendor youre referencing is offering direct deals on his public profile or advertising them at all, then chances are high that hes being profiled and you should probably not even think about using him
That depends largely on what you mean by privacy.
Using a marketplace just adds an additional agent to your transaction. If you take encryption measures, the medium is not very important. PGP will hide your sensitive information from anyone; except any person with a copy of the private key.
Some marketplaces do obfuscate your bitcoin transactions but you should always take steps to be proactive in matters of privacy.
Markets add risks to transactions, but it is the risks of their escrow services being unreliable or even malicious on the user.
