Pointless and a gimmick.
"We're replacing BlackBerry, we don't care that BlackBerry's CEO is throwing nasty things about us onto Twitter. We're going to dominate them," said Silent Circle security specialist (and former Navy Seal) Mike Janke at today's launch.
Laughable. The same thing can be done (software wise) on any rootable/flashable Android device.

Why wave a flag that says "I WANT TO BE PRIVATE! YES, ME! NOTHING TO HIDE OVER HERE!" When you could just buy a nice burner and encrypt it.
Don't worry, I'll rofl myself to the door.

This is the same phone that the jester had. Can't stand that guy.
PS - someone rooted it in less than 5 mins at defcon once lol.

I almost got one last year but figured it wasn't worth the money because no cell phone available is truely secure right now. At least it's a start for a working product in the OPSEC ways we require.
OR you can just buy a regular android phone then encrypt it because its already stock on the phone and flash a custom rom. Saved you about $700
