Fuck you CoinBase!!

so yesterday I woke up and checked my bank account to see that Coinbase withdrew almost $2,000 without my permission or knowledge of it. luckily my bank caught it and immediately reversed it.

THIS MORNING I wake up to find that those assholes charged me almost $30 in random fees. $0.08 here, $4.58 there, lol just random ass "foreign transaction fees" that added up. this time my bank didn't reverse it but luckily it's only $30, i know some people that are out thousands. i already transferred about 90 percent of my funds into another account while both have overdraft protection. AHA! fuck you coin base.

it sucks but this is how it goes. Coinbase even tried to blame VISA for this shit and VISA immediately denied hahaha! the truth is that Coinbase just fucked us, made a shit ton of money, and will stay up and running to eventually do it again. the people running this company (if u can even call it that lol) are just fucking scammers.

FUCK YOU COINBASE!!!

Gemini boys, it’s a bit slower for deposits but I’ve had good experiences

Coinbase alternative? I’ve just started using them and only have a few hundred in btc in it. These reports concern me.

[2 Points] HighInside:

Just saying this whole thread can be FUD, and/or very dangerous to one's OPSEC to be posting about "serious issues" involving their Coinbase experiences here. What I will say can be considered "FUD" - either way here is another perspective.

I have solely used Coinbase for a long while now, with no issues at all. No double charges, no lowering of limits, no account restrictions, etc. At worst, when BTC fees were high it took ~45min for a CB tx to show up on the blockchain.

For example, like in the OP's case, if you were charged random fees for $0.08 and $4.58, your whole Reddit account history, name included, and the fact that you were posting in "/r/DarkNetMarkets" will all be added up and used in any case, against you.

You know how Coinbase wants you to verify two transactions from your bank account/charge card to verify ownership? If those 2 random fees are indeed 2 random fees Coinbase charged you, for seemingly "no reason at all" - I would consider my identity burned.

Fuck Coinbase right in the pu$$y

I am glad I havent used them in a while now and didnt get any charges.

I got banned from coinbase from sending from coinbase to an rc vendor lmao.

[1 Points] Immaloner:

Foreign transaction fees are assessed by your credit card issuer and are usually charged as a percentage of the purchase that you’re making, with 3% being common.

While Coinbase is physically located in San Francisco they are registered in England and payment processing goes through England as well. This is the same exact charge you would see if you used your card at a pub in London.

This is not Coinbase charging you. This is your bank.

maybe title should be f*** you visa, just sayin': https://techcrunch.com/2018/02/16/visa-coinbase-not-at-fault/?ncid=rss

My mastercard got charged twice for no reason. Not just Visa's fault.

Yes, fuck, fuck, right in the ass.

This is why crypto is going to win and theres not going to be no cash in the future.

[1 Points] kookieless:

When I tried verifying a card with coinbase they said they made 2 charges for $1.XX and I had to tell them what the XX were. As it turns out I had 3 charges from them and and all of them were over $1.99 and none of the cents value were correct according to Coinbase. Support was non existent. Charges didn't go away until a few days after I canceled my payment method with them almost a week later.

Fucking Scammers I'd tell u wot

[1 Points] MicrocrystallinePig:

I got a email from Coinbase and visa saying that any double charges would be reversed, and if not to go to your bank and explain the situation, and if that works contact Coinbase and let them know your bank wouldn’t reverse it then they claimed they would talk to the bank and get it reversed themselves.

Damn how does one buy BTC right now?

[0 Points] ductmercury:

It's scary to see that everyone who recommended Coinbase over, for example, Bitfinex is now hating on them, funny to see how tables turn, while I still have no complain for Bitfinex. Just trade smart and withdraw anything you don't like to lose on your wallet.

[0 Points] 2happytimes2:

Someone still uses coinbase? You do know they openly work with the feds right? Just startpage: "coinbase, FBI". They are BFF.

[0 Points] Darknet_Retard:

My last transaction with Coinbase was the final straw. I was able to purchase BTC instantly for a fair price (as usual) except once I tried to withdraw my coin into my offline wallet, I was told there would be a 72 hour delay. This was AFTER I already purchased the coin and tried to withdraw it. Fast forward 72 hours later (after support didn't respond to my email) and the value of BTC had dropped from $16K to $8K and the value of my coin was cut in half. All this after having a slew of transactions and verified cards and banks attached to my account. This plus the fact that I wasn't warned about the delay BEFORE purchasing the coin made it total bullshit. I refuse to use Coinbase again.
