Title: Mod's Mark of Approval
Post by: IgnorantFuck on February 21, 2012, 08:12 pm
Think thepiratebay skulls, only for vendors on silk road. It'd make it easier to know which vendors are reputable.

The pros would be less research on vendors would be required and good vendors would get recognition for their great service.

The cons would be it'd be harder to get customers without them and people would, probably, start using them as their only method of determining the legitimacy of vendors (which could lead to scamming).

Anyone else think this would be pretty awesome?

My only concern would be that people would make the Mod's "mark of approval" analogous to "if anything goes wrong, it's the mod's fault".

Maybe make a link to the seller's review thread mandatory on their profile? Personally I think that the buyer is responsible for knowing who they're buying from/how reliable they are/etc... before they buy anything, and that a mark of approval would make buyers less likely to do their research. Idk, just my opinion! Personally, I like researching who I'm buying from, makes getting the goodies feel more rewarding ;).

I think something like an "OG" mark for being around for a while or reaching a certain number of transactions could be nice - something with a defined set of critera.
