It's an incentive to hang around and learn a little before being given the privilege of awarding karma. In the main, new members wouldn't be aware of what deserves a + or a - karma point in most cases anyway. The majority of new members (not all of them) just want to order drugs without understanding the potential dangers that come with doing so.

To be perfectly honest, karma means absolutely nothing at all. It's basically just a gimmick. Some people give negative karma to others for something to do or to piss them off while there are some people who hardly use it at all. I wouldn't be too worried about karma if I was you. Take it with a grain of salt.

Where I live, it's definitely "grain of salt." ??? I wasn't aware that SR was available to UK members ahead of us convicts in Oz, or that you are the owner of the site (our site)???? ::)
FYI - "Pinch of salt" is a term used for cooking!! ::)
