Title: Looking for 100-200+ seeds(mids or any) - east coast usa
Post by: Veetano on June 03, 2012, 01:32 pm
I'm looking for pretty much any seeds. I'm not interested in paying $5 per seed.. I'm looking for those seeds you get with mids. Where you buy a Quarter of mids and get like 100 seeds. I'll buy those.

$0.25 cents per seed. I don't care about genetics. Though if you think they are hermies... don't sell.

I am willing to talk about prices, but Im not looking for any serious pro genetic seeds, just basic mids or whatever.

I know this is an old post but I thought I'd reply.

For $.25 per seed, all you are going to get are hermaphroditic plants, or plants that will give you a paranoia-inducing head-ache buzz, or a high that is cloudy and makes you feel worse afterwards.

Those of us who have been growing cannabis for awhile know that good seeds cost money. Reputable mail-order seed dealers these days charge upwards of $10, $20, up to $100 per seed (DR GREENTHUMB!!!). You can *only* buy them in packs of 10 or sometimes 20.

If you are really lucky and happen to know a QUALITY seed breeder personally, you might be able to buy 100 seeds at once. It's also getting easier in the MMJ states but you still have to know someone or become very friendly with a dispensary, and then the prices are still higher. You still have to trust that this breeder is not just pollinating a few buds on the plants he's already got going in his flower room, because those plants are usually only receiving flower nutrients which are usually deficient in Nitrogen. The seeds then end up with a compromised structure as they aren't receiving all of the things they need to develop into robust, hardy, vigorous seed stock to carry the next generation forward. You end up with compromised genetics, hermaphrodites, plants that just aren't quite as good as the ones a generation or 7 ago.

If the seed breeder is true, they will be specifically growing receptive females only for seed making purposes, giving them a balanced nutrient profile throughout the entire grow, and will let the plants go much longer than one would if they were growing medicine. This is harder to accomplish indoors where lighting electricity costs and growing real estate are in high demand as buds bring greater profits than seeds for the amount of work involved afterwards.

This is why SilkRoad is such an amazing boon to cannabis growing. Here, for the first time ever, we have MUCH more reasonable PRICING, and also BULK AVAILABILITY. There are many great seeds to choose from, and I hope that the menu will continue to grow and diversify further.

You can go with cheap bag seeds, but you're going to get cheap rag weed that will be unfit for sale and might not be all that you hoped for. Genetics are half the battle.

Why not just pay for good genetics and keep a mother plant, duh...

Yes, even buying 10 good seeds, growing those out indoors specifically to make seeds. Just pick the best looking male of the bunch and pollinate your females appropriately and let them go about 3 to 4 weeks longer than normal (flower for 90 days or so). Make sure and use a good all-purpose potting soil.

You'll have hundreds of good seeds that way, as long as your genetics were good to start with.
