Sorry I just cannot find this information (not that I haven't spent any time looking), so please don't tell me to RTFM, but just tell me where it is.
How much does it cost to open a seller account, what are the current fees and how much does the hedging cost?
-
It's $150 dollars to open an account :)

Read this.

Thanks.
I've read it all.
I already know that I need $150 to open the account and that the hedging costs ~4%.
But I still don't know what is the commissions that SR takes for the escrow.
My bookkeeper needs this information before deciding if we can afford to pay $150 for the account. ;)

SR commission is 10% I think.
Why do you say your "bookkeeper" if you had a book keeper then you would have $150. Always wondered why vendors on SR have a need to pretend they are part of a large nefarious network of criminals when most people are sole traders, which would be the most appropriate set up in this particular line of work and actually increases operational security.

It was a joke - I am the bookkeeper :)
Of course I have $150, but I don't want to waste it for opening an account that I wouldn't use.
I know the price which I want to get for my stuff and I know how much I want to sell - now I only need to know the commission to evaluate if the $150 will be worthwhile in my case. Or how quickly it will pay back...
So thanks for your comment, but "I think" is not enough for me.
Also because, I think, I once saw a thread on the forum (which I cannot find anymore) about the "new fees" and they were sort of changing as the volume was growing...
-
The thread you mentioned probably was this one:
http://dkn255hz262ypmii.onion/index.php?topic=8397.195
(State of the Road Address from the beginning of this year)
DPR himself posted this table to calculate the fees:
10% of the first $50
8.5% of $50 - 150
6% of $150 - 300
3% of $300 - 500
2% of $500 - 1000
1.5% for everything over $1000
-
Is that per item or once you have sold that amount?
E.g. I sell 100 x $10 sales, am i paying 10% on every sale or will the % decrease with each bracket I hit so that my 101st sale attracts a fee of 1.5%?

Yes - that's the one, thank you.
No wonder I couldn't find it since I was looking for "new fees" in the topic :)
And as UKMJ has asked, do you possibly know if "the first ..." is defined per account, per year, per transaction... or per something else?

By "book keeper" I thought you meant the shoe box you keep the 'cid in. :-X

That sure as hell isn't what I'm paying in fees, mine average out to 15% total including hedging. Not complaining, tho, DPR has to make aliving somehow hehe

sounds like a cop to me! Find out for yourself! You claim you're a "bookkeeper", so you know all about winning and losing. It''s just a part of the game. Either you in our you're out. vendors make a pretty penny quick if you do right, and don't shit on others!
-
i thought it was 150 for a sellers account?
-
150 worth of btc
-
Enter your PIN below and click upgrade to upgrade to a seller account. (cost: ฿21.16)
where does the 150 come in to play... ???
Bitcoin is still new and somewhat volatile and so the prices of it fluctuate heavily, so they base the price on a more established currency denomination (USD) in order to ensure that they receive the same value. 21.16 BTC = 150.0 USD

thanks dude i get it now...

Why are so many people on here accusing others of being some kind of law enforcement. I am brand new to this site and already sick of seeing that so much. I have probably seen it 30 times already today. Grow up people.

It's because paranoia is a common side effect of taking drugs and this forum is full of junkies. :)
I don't see how the info about the actual SR commissions would be helpful to a cop.
In fact the most obvious explanation, of how would the info be helpful to me, is if I was actually considering paying the commission.
But well, good luck with explaining to a total paranoiac junkie that you are not a cop who is there to get him! :)
Anyway, from what you've guys said I'm guessing that the trading fees are sort of secret, and even the sellers don't know them... Or they just don't want to tell me, because they see me as a potential competition?

Odd, when he said bookkeeper I automatically assumed that his wife/girlfriend had control of the money. :o
