What are everyones thoughts?
-
What about them?

Useless because,
1. You have to take the possession of the package at some point (unless you are having someone else pick it up for you)
2. You need an id/address etc. to open one which pretty much defeats the purpose.

mailboxes etc or something of that sort perhaps.

They're not even close to useless, in fact incredibly useful.
1. This is true, but they will sign for packages for you which is a huge advantage. The package can also sit for a couple weeks before you go to pick it up and if LE are trying to do a CD they won't sit and watch a mailbox for that long unless it's a huge amount.
2. Fake documents.

I prefer to think "yeah, and if everything goes wrong".
If I ship it to my home, but take care to erase my traces, I always can deny I ordered the package. In any case, in my country, for a small order I would not have big problems.
But if they catch you in the P.O. Box, it's harder to say you don't ordered. If you are using a fake ID when they catch you, oh, you are made a fake ID to receive drugs, now you have a bigger trouble.
And get a credible fake ID give some trouble.

1. They will only do a CD if it's a huge amount.
2. You need two government issued photo IDs or a photo ID and a matching credit card or bank statement i believe. Good luck with that.

What if you got a PO box and you got a love letter + flagged address (no charges). If it were your home address you'd be eff'd. But it was only a PO box.
Now what if you go get a new PO box elsewhere....
Will customs/post etc update their records to flag your new PO box address too?
If no.. maybe this is an advantage to using PO box.
If yes.. well waste of time and effort.. can anyone say for sure about this?

1. Agreed
2. I dont have easy access to fake documents and as "detective" said you need bank statements too.

I had a bit of a scare this morning with my PO Box. I've had the box long before SR by the way (divorce). Had an incoming Express Mail envelope with a larger than normal quantity of contraband in it. The envelope didn't fit the box so they left an info notice that said "already scanned as delivered". Of course, I had to pick up at the counter.
My name wasn't on the package but I thought about it for a second, and decided they "probably" wouldn't ask for a signature or D.L. as they do with larger non-SR packages sometimes.
The postal worker handed me the envelope and said, "Have a nice day". After a few minutes of recovery, I did.

You folks got flagging all wrong.
For me I know what I can piece together from all the posts in this forum -- which is not much 8)
Thanks for sharing. Question... does a flag work as:
(i) First name + last name
(ii) Name + address
or
(iii)address only ???????
