I have been a buyer here on SR for about 2 mths. I recently opened a vendor account (it wasn't easy for me learning security 101) and I made a password for my new account - using a method I had learnt here on the forum. It was taking me awhile to set up the vendor acc due to personal factors, lack of time etc. But after finally opening shop and receiving my first order which I (had) planned to ship off express tomorrow ie Monday (here in Australia) I inadvertently used an original longer version of the password instead. It's one of those passwords created from a few words and dates. To be stealthier I thought it best to leave the long version of the password in my notepad and just copy and paste the first section, leaving out the last 10 characters. However being blazed over the past few days I had completely forgotten this extra stealthier method (thought up also when I was stoned), so I couldn't figure out why I was getting that 'failed log in please try again' or whatever message. So I contacted SR Support from my buyers acc telling them of my problem. Meanwhile - about 8-12 hrs late (?) not hearing from SR Support, I managed to finally realise my error. So I contacted them to let them know and explained in a concise way what had happened and basically to disregard my previous call for assistance.
So great, I'm able to log in again to my new vendor acc and set up the pgp key etc and yesterday I received my very first order. After logging out to buy stationary, postage stuff etc, spending over $100 on supplies and putting together a very stealthy packaging method - I tried logging in to my new vendor's acc only to find that my correct password would not allow me in. So I logged into my buyers account after a considerable time away doing all that stuff and you know - it's the weekend, - only to find a pm from SR Support asking for the last BTC address deposit into my vendor account to verify that it's not someone else trying to log in and not me. So I sent them the last BTC address, which was mine when I transferred the vendor's fee so I could pay them. Now how do I know if they consider it the final BTC deposit address if a customer made an order - it could be his/hers? I haven't had time and dont know if it's possible to access the btc address of an order?
If SR HQ is in the US I could be screwed before I even start because I don't have access to my vendor account and I need to express post to (at least) one buyer tomorrow asap and build a solid reputation as a seller. Meanwhile if SR is in the US they are probably up partying or in bed sleeping because we are 12-15hrs ahead! Also, who would want to hijack my vendor account with no BTC in it? I think I might be screwed before I start unless some kind SR support team member gets back to me soon before my new venture goes all pear-shaped!

Please don't become a vendor. It's idiots like you who scare the shit out of potential buyers.
How many times am I going to read: "I blazed up and did something stupid." What the fuck is it with moron stoners? Just be a normal stoner. And don't be a moron stoned vendor who needs to keep his fucking password in notepad.

I know this sounds horrible, but everything that happened was easily avoidable. I'm not sure what will happen, but hopefully this will teach you a lesson and everything will turn out for the best.

I have one iron-clad rule that I religiously adhere to. I never use the computer when tired, drunk, under the weather, etc.
This is how mistakes get made; this is how people get caught. You should no more use the computer when you're stoned than drive when you're stoned.
When you're conducting business, you need to be wide awake, and stone cold sober.
Ignore these rules if you like; it's just that one day, you'll make a mistake, and you'll end up paying through the nose for it.

SR needs something like Google's Mail Goggles :D
Sometimes I send messages I shouldn't send. Like the time I told that girl I had a crush on her over text message. Or the time I sent that late night email to my ex-girlfriend that we should get back together. Gmail can't always prevent you from sending messages you might later regret, but today we're launching a new Labs feature I wrote called Mail Goggles which may help.
When you enable Mail Goggles, it will check that you're really sure you want to send that late night Friday email. And what better way to check than by making you solve a few simple math problems after you click send to verify you're in the right state of mind?

This advice is flawless. I can't agree more. +1
I've learned from bitter hard experience, don't use the computer, especially for business, whilst under any kind of bodily influence. Even stuff you think has been relatively successful will look FUBAR upon sober review the next day.
