Title: First purchase, a few questions!
Post by: leemeetee on May 04, 2012, 10:09 pm
Complete noob who just recently stumbled onto this glorious website haha. I'm about to make my first purchase, but have a couple questions. Hoping a few veteran members can help me out.
I'm planning to order 2 different batches of rolls from 2 different users from the NL. The orders themselves aren't over 10 each, and they're being shipped to 2 different addresses in the West Coast of the US. I'm a bit spooked about the whole NL and customs deal...do you think I'm being over paranoid even though they are just small orders? Just wondering the success rate nowadays from these sellers/areas to the US.
Is it really necessary to send bitcoins through several instawallets, even though I'm only ordering a small order and probably won't order again for a while?
Last one, is it okay to make a MtGox through a personal computer, or is it dire to access it through a public computer?

Thanks

It's obvious you're a complete noob..... to the internet.....and to forums.

If you don't know if you're allowed to list seller names, why would you?

All the answers you need are in the forums.

It's been proven already that moving coins through multiple ewallets does nothing in terms of washing your coins. You have to access MtGox through a clearnet browser (chrome, firefox, etc) and not through TOR otherwise they'll lock your account and ask for proof of identification. This is seen as a huge security risk for people so they do things like moneypak>BTC or bitinstant>BTC which are more anonymous. From personal experience when ordering from the NL, it's all luck. I have received packages from vendors from the NL and they are packaged very professionally and they sometimes don't make it because of a random check since it's coming from a flagged country so just be ready for that.

Id say because of the steps you seem to be taking. Id recommend you find a domestic dealer buddy. Significantly higher success rates. Secondly, yes. Use a public computer or stolen wifi. Take your time to google or search here in the forums "pgp" (for address and communication safety), linux - ubuntu (or some similar external/removable boot sequence), Use the TOR bridges and try and find a reliable VPN. While these last two arent "musts", id still highly recommend you start reading on the topics if youd like to get alot more comfortable ordering. Once you hop on ubuntu or linux, you can youtube how to steal WPA.... super easy and helps randomize identity even more.
