Title: Vendors: The dumbest thing that a customer has ever asked or said to you
Post by: divinechemicals on April 19, 2013, 06:30 am
You know those websites like "The Customer Isn't Always Right" where employees make fun of their dumb customers? I figured we could have one like that for Silk Road vendors. Post the dumbest questions or comments your customers have made. Keep personal information out of it obviously.

we have a customer, who sent us his mobile number for us to call him on. Thats is probably the most stupid thing we have encountered so far.

I just think giving a phone number is pretty preposterous considering we all try very hard to keep our anonymity intact.

I hope there was a practical use for you to have the customer's number. I also really hope it was a burner phone.

Why is that stupid?  Buyers give me their names and home addresses so why not phone number?
Oh that's a hella good point though.

I've had three different customers ask if they can pay via bank transfer or paypal...

What I think is dumb is the people who ask if they can pay with Paypal.

Wait, what's wrong with asking to pay with Paypal?  I mean, it's not like it would completely fuck up any semblance of anonymity that the vendor and buyer were trying to keep intact.  Also, it's not like the buyer could just reverse the payment a day or two later after they've received and enjoyed their drugs... Doesn't seem risky at all for the vendor.

I guess I'm not seeing the downside here?

/end sarcasm

Seriously?!?!  How is someone smart enough to find this forum and still be stupid enough to link their fucking facebook profile in their signature?  Jesus people are stupid.

You wouldn't believe the amount of first-time customers who put 'Jason Bourne' or 'James Bond' as the delivery name. We always message them suggesting they change it :)

I had a canadian order that had the name "Ming Ming" as the name. That seemed like a bit of a stretch too  :P

See that's why I could never be a vendor; I just wouldn't have the patience.  I'd just cancel the order and send them some smart ass message about how stupid it is to use a fake name that is SO OBVIOUSLY FAKE.

"Sorry, I don't normally need to enforce this but I am cancelling your order on the basis you fail my mandatory minimum IQ for buying from me. I require minimum double digits. Its for your own safety"

/reasonable response imho.

I think this is worrying, not necessarily because of IQ score  but it could be an indicator of age, that is, a 14 year old or so. I'd refuse to deal with people like that, this just asking for trouble.

I have a couple of teenage relatives that I occasionally get emails and texts from and I can spot them usually pretty well just based on the smilies and abbreviations and way of speaking sometimes. Not all, but definitely some, early high school age all wrote the same in text/ email/ im.

Not saying it wasn't a fake name but Canada does have a lot of those nationalities.

A melting pot of people.

given the sad prices Australians pay for one tenth of the product us yankees receive, i believe the people who committed those acts of retardation were in fact Aussies as well.  Or at blackies.  maybe even black aussies.

racism for the win!
