Hi,
So I'm new to silk road and I think it's brilliant. But I got one gripe.
You get automatically put ON VACATION after 24 hours not logged in. If like me you're only online once or twice a week, you lose customers who don't see your listings while you're away. I think this time should be extended to a week Anyone agree? Disagree?

it has been 4 days in the past? 4 days sounds pretty well chosen.

I think this makes sense: no matter time to "vacation" mode, the listing should be available but with ample warning that the vendor is on vacation, telling you that your product won't go out for at least a few days, vendor won't respond, etc.
-
I disagree, vendors should be online daily if there wanting to get business, most of the top vendors I deal with answer a pm in 1 hour or less some in like 10mins.

I agree that if someone chooses to accept the responsibilities of being a vendor he/she should sign on a min of once a day. Me personally If I were one would have a self policy of twice a day. Once in the morning for orders placed over night and once in the late evening for orders placed throughout the day. Everyone has the right to run their business the way they choose but as with any business...restaurant,car sales, music store..prompt service and helpful sales person/vendor on hand in a timely manner is a must if you want to be successful. I can't see a vender signing on twice a week being much of a success unless you ship absolutely nothing but large bulk orders a few times a week but even then as a customer I would want/hope for/expect prompt feed back to my questions and concerns. I know people have everyday lives and responsibilities but to me those factors need to be taken into consideration before accepting the role of a vender. Just my two cents. Have a great day all! Stay safe.

I spend most of my time away from civilization. I wouldn't want to change my life for money. Until free wifi becomes available planet wide and solar panels become cheap and portable...
Anyways I agree with the poster that the listings should still be available while making it clear the vendor is on vacation. Best of both worlds :)
