First of all, thank you to the knowledgeable people who share so that relatively unskilled people can protect their information. After reading the forum it appear booting from a USB of Liberte is the best recommendation. However, over at the Liberte forums it appears making a boot USB for os x is either not possible or above my head. I think I remember someone made it work, but I couldn't understand how and certainly couldn't implement it myself.
Is using Liberte inside a VM on a mac w/ a hd encrypted by FileVault prudent practice for a buyer? Or would booting from a tails USB on mac be better?
Thanks again for the help I've received by reading the forums.

Can't you get to a Windows PC for a few minutes? If you can, make the Liberte USB bootable on the windows machine by double-clicking the .bat file.
It'll then be good to go on any computer that supports booting from USB, including Macs.

I will try that. Thanks.

No dice. The boots hangs. Digging through the Liberte Linux discussion boards it appears different users have been working on a solution to this but haven't nailed it yet. I've dug an old XP tank out of closet that is now a dedicated SR machine.
