FIRST OFF, BE WARY OF THIS USER.
I, along with another user have both sent this guy MP codes within the past 24 hours, and have yet to receive our coin or responses to our PMs. He has logged in since our orders were placed and since our PMs were sent.
I took a chance using him, but he had about half a dozen reviews at the time and he seemed legit; however now i'm beginning to get worried that he's a scammer.
I'm putting this here to let other users know that until this is resolved, use someone else for your MP to BTC needs.
If I got ripped off, oh well...it happens, I'm just trying to prevent any other users from getting fucked. If he comes through, awesome, if not the admins will be notified to prevent this from happening again.
Are there any users here who had a successful transaction with him?
-
I am, too, waiting on an order since last night from this same guy "BlackOut00".
Received a PM after, saying he just received my order and will process in an hour.
It's been 17 hours since his PM.
So, was I scammed? seems like it.
SR should find a way to prevent fake reviews.
-
I placed an order yesterday and have not heard a word. The card is probably drained. No coins have been transferred.
-
Damn, that's 3 of us now.
No good experiences out there?
and how long does he really need to process such orders??
he said in 1 hour....
So all his profile reviews are fake?!
-
I was able to confirm that my moneypak is empty now. No coins.
-
Me too, sadly.
I hope it wasn't much, bro?
and how long does this usually take? could it be because he doesn't have enough coins now?
or did we just get scamme?
-
A reputable vendor would not have drained the MP if he did not have coins available right away. There is a very, very small chance the coins will still come. Extremely small. Sadly it was one of my largest deposits to date. It was a lot for me. After I placed the order, it occurred to me that the feedback looked unusual. The eBay-like "A+++" garbage is not common here in my experience and there were several like that. Normally if someone is legitimate and a good vendor, at least a couple feedback rows will be longer. All of his feedback was very brief.
Everyone should probably notify the SR Admins by using the "Contact Us" link. There is nothing they can do for us but hopefully they will lock out the vendor and prevent others from being scammed.
-
Still no coin. I'm going to call it and say we've all been scammed. Yeah, it fucking sucks. He hasn't even read my half dozen PMs and probably hasn't read any of yours. If you go to your sent mailbox, the messages in bold are the ones that have been unread by the recipient. Mine was for an amount over $100, and yes, it's been cashed out. Fuck that guy, I KNEW I should have stayed with my normal people, I was just in a hurry and decided to risk it... Well, that's the last time i'll do that. I'm pretty sick of all the bullshit going around on SR over the last few months. And yes, notify the admins to lock that account, the more of us, the quicker it will happen.
-
Unfortunately i too submitted an order yesterday afternoon and did not recieve coin. When i tried another very reputable vendor he informed me my moneypak had been cashed. I immediately messaged blackout00 askin what was up and he replied rather quickly saying that my moneypak had been cashed and i should be expecting coin later last night or early this morning. When i woke up to no coin i tried to stay positive and attribute it to time difference but now about 9 hours later theres still no coin. Im hoping i havnt been scammed but it's starting to look this way. Worst part is with the money i scraped up to replace it i dont have enough to get some of ivorys fantastic mdma in time for a rave im attending.

Can anyone with experience link an Admin to this thread?
and should we wait? or report this guy?
-

Damn true.
As for you, the FLY, I messaged the team with a link to this thread. I've also PM'd BlackOut00 again notifying him of this thread strictly so that he knows that there is info out there that can prevent people from getting fucked over by him.
I've got to get back to work, i'll update you all on any word from SR Support or BlackOut00.

Known Scammer STAY AWAY!!!!

Known Scammer STAY AWAY!!!!
Have you dealt with him before?
-
I also notified SR admins about 5 hours ago. As for read/unread messages, I sent BlackOut00 one message about 24 hours ago. That was read but there was no reply. Another one I sent 10 hours ago is still unread. Maybe he was happy with my $ (lot more than 100) on top of the money from the rest of you and he bailed. Worse, some of that money belonged to a friend, so BlackOut00 may be happy to know that I counted for 2 scams. Scam score +1!
He claims on his seller page to have another well known unspecified vendor account. That's probably BS too.
Too bad it is not possible to post feedback on a cancelled or in-progress transaction. The MP vendors can drain your MP and just cancel your order. Then you don't get to post feedback and the vendor keeps their rating. I'm sure other suckers are still handing their MPs to BlackOut00 with no clue they're about to be robbed.
I still can't believe I got suckered into using a vendor with <48 hours of suspicious looking feedback. I was in a hurry and the 6% or whatever looked like a great deal. Stupid stupid stupid.

Did this guy just close his account or something?
His profile page does not appear to me anymore.
Can anyone confirm?
I think I can declare myself with my lovely other scammed users as "fucked!"
So we go smoke a ounce to this.

Yep, he's either been disabled by the Admins (unlikely since it's been less than 48 hours since this mess started) or he's gone into stealth or deleted his account. Sorry guys, I know it sucks... I was adding money to buy some sheets to flip to start paying off student loans, i'm as fucked as anyone else.
I really wish there was a solution, but there's not. We've got to take these hits and move on. There are tons of honest vendors for both substance and credit on SR, but sometimes the assholes burn us and make it tough to put faith in this system.
Mad props to you all for coming in here and helping each other confirm suspicions. Our PMs to both the Admins and BlackOut00 may very well have saved some other users from getting fucked, and at least we know some good came out of this - be it not for us, but the community as a whole.

Well said, bro.
It's a hard hit but you learn from these things.
Glad this bastard can't scam anymore, unless he's making another username as we speak.
As for SR, they really need to find a way to verify reviews before publishing them.
This guy's profile was filled with 5/5 fake reviews made by him most likely.
Is there not a solution to this?

are people seriously never going to realize pretty much 99% of all new MP to BTC vendors are scammers. seriously every single new one that pops up is a scam. what on earth are making you people send them money. are they that much cheaper then the proven sellers that you are willing to risk all your money to save a few bucks. no product on sr are people willing to send so much money to a new vendor with no escrow. you guys are insane. these guys are just going to open account every week so long as you guys just keep sending them money. just spend the extra bucks on a reliable vendor and you wont end up losing hundreds of dollars.

U cant blame yourself dude. I was in a hurry as well and really did not want to pay 6.50 per coin from other vendors. His phony feedback fooled us all but shit happens. It might not seem like alot compared to what you lost but $55 was all i have. I was able to scrape up $45 from a few friends to replace and made a successful moneypak exchange using Ita (highly recomended) who only charges $5 per transaction and he was nice enough to wave that fee because i got scammed.

He was most likely disabled. I too notified sr support and they got back to me saying "thanks for the heads up" so hopefullly it was them who disabled him and froze whatever money (if any) he had on his account.

The main reason most people come on this site is because of the great prices of most of the fendors. If i end up paying 6.50 per coin when the exhange rate is 5 ill be paying alot more than street prices so it would defeat the purpose. Any money i put on here is literally the only amount i can spare and i just cant afford to pay anything more. If i lose some money so be it. It happens. Theres nothing i can do but move on and learn to be a little bit more careful. Its not expected that someones gunna spend 150 for a vendor account and then create 10 or so new accounts and order there own listing and then write phony reviews. Its alot of effort for a few hundred bucks.

i was one of coinbox's first customers and did a pretty big moneypak and it was the best moneypak for btc transaction i've done on SR. sometimes you gotta give people a chance.
I can't give this scammer a chance actually.
I mean fuck the kind of life he's living like that. Sitting in a hell hole on a PC spending his life scamming people out of their well earned money.
I was wishing for "Karma" to punish this guy, but man with this kind of life he's living, he's already punished.
How can you eat out of other people's money?
This shit is fucked up but hey, lesson learned.
-
I used justcallmecash when he was new and was offering no fee, 0% exchanges. Believe me, I was nervous, but it wasn't a huge MP and I do believe in giving people a chance. I had the coins in 5 minutes. Every time I used him, I had the coins in < 1 hour, and for 10% or less. I'm very, very glad I tried him. Unfortunately he has been off-line for several days.
If everyone refused to take a chance on new people, we'd forever be stuck with the reliable old-timers who charge insane amounts and/or a long time. If I can do an exchange for some amount that won't kill me to lose, I'm willing (unlike my lapse in judgement with BlackOut00!).
BTCPal has been around and doesn't charge an insane rate, but he seems to be out of service (18 orders in queue since at least yesterday... I feel sorry for those 18, but I'm sure he hasn't used their MPs). foxymeow offers low rates but her turnaround time seems to be inconsistent. Also, I had a problem with one transaction (which was eventually resolved), and now her seller page says she's having problems with her cards and does not know why. That's a little scary. A few threads are raving about ita but he's not offering exchanges at the moment. Slim pickings!
One idea I may try, at least for $200+ exchanges: break it into 2 MPs, give the vendor one and say they'll get the other when they come through. They may not like it (I think they're limited on how many MPs they can transfer to their cards), and you may get a slightly higher rate, but you won't be taken for the full amount of $. Or maybe they'll just tell you to f off. :-)

Anyone use shamaster? I guess nothing stops him from responding to this without admitting who he is, even from multiple IDs like the scammers do to post fake feedback, but I thought I'd ask. He/she is very new.
-
yea you might have lots of luck with a new vendor but theres a reason theres only a few sellers that have lasted. because the new sellers sell just fine for a few weeks and then when they start getting large orders they scam and run. so if you trade with a new seller thats fine but you are just giving him the feedback and transaction history he needs to scam everyone in a few weeks. thats what they all do thats why there are only a few long term sellers.
-
It's depressing reading all these threads about moneypak scams. I've only been scammed once, by tony, and it's a pretty shitty feeling. I do wonder however, why people keep using these things? Ever since my first deposit I've used bitinstant. You can get coins into your SR account in like 3 hours. I think they charge around 4%, but that's a small price to pay. Maybe everyone doesn't have this option, but if you do you should really look into it. Hopefully this bad experience doesn't turn you off from SR. If you do your research on the forums you will likely have mostly positive experiences.
-
While Blackout00 is obviously a scammer some of us new guys aren't and making the generalization that we all are scammers doesn't make it any easier for us legit new guys to get a start. Please be careful, do research and look into the threads before you send them MP!
