I'm curious why all the GHB (and it's 'substitutes' like GBL) have only been sold on here already dissolved and a little confused why.
At any rate, is there any vendor who can provide powdered GHB, the price alone would be significantly better. I can solvate things myself :P
I kick myself everytime I think of it, cuz in the last lab I worked I have a vivid image in my mind of the 1kg bottles of Fischer GHB in pretty much every researchers lab that II could have just snagged anytime (it's a fairly common lab reagent in mol. bio./biochemistry) without anyone noticing or even caring (really it's considered, well in our labs, just another reagent we went through tonnes of). I'd have some nice flow right now if I knew SR existed :D.
Lesson learned, steal things before you think you need them :P (lol jk).
But yeah for real, does anyone have GHB, powdered, don't want these expensive vials which are also a bit more dangerous to ship?

Tommy G for US domestic. Best there is. I believe he expects to be restocked within a few days. Worth the wait, I promise you.
-
I waited patiently for Tommy to come back lol he left for like ~5weeks, and when he announced his listings would be up soon, i stalked his profile til i saw them. and i got my stock for a couple months :P
-
I live in Canada so need a vendor willing to ship 'international'
But THANKS for the super quick reply. If I see he has any listed i'll see if I can't convince him to make a delivery exception for me because I am awesome :P (lol jk, i'm just another mindless automaton).

You could get some of the latvian GBL and some lye and make your own. It's a simple one-pot synth.

Good call man, thanks for that ! +1 karma for sure!
Gonna contact this new jennifers vendor on the road as shes selling GBL, for what looks to me to be a damned good price.
She's a new vendor, I usually avoid new ones (yeah i'm anal, but I like to play it safe heh), but has a flawless record so far. Has anyone done business with her?

Thanks, but he only ships domestic to the USA :/
I ordered some GBL from the jennifer's though. Seem's a lot cheaper, 200mL when hydrolyzed will yield 330g of NaGHB (assuming a 100% yield of course)

Can someone kindly write up how?

Here's a write-up from Rhodium. He tells it better than I ever could.

Awesome, thanks for that!
@quinone - let us know what you think of Jennifer's gbl.
I've been using DubG's 1,4b the past few months, seems to be the only consistent gear I've been able to count on. But I'm considering making my own ghb, looks easy enough ... how many ways can I muck it up assuming the chems are all top notch?

Will do. Here's the math for calculating how much NaOH to add, just replace the 100ml GBL example I used with whatever volume of GBL you have and use the same molecular weights to find out how much NaOH to add. VERY SIMPLE chemistry. One thing i've not noted is you should dissolve the NaOH in water first because the reaction is very exothermic.
Here's a quick rundown of the math to know how much NaOH to add:
For 100mL GBL
Mw GBL = 86.089 g/mol
Mw NaGHB = 126.09 g/mol
Mw NaOH = 39.997g/mol
Density GBL = 1.128 g/ml
So the mass of GBL in 100mL GBL = 1.128g/ml x 100ml = 112.8g
The moles of GBL is then: 112.8g / 86.089g/mol = 1.31 mols
Since the reaction is equimolar this means you need 1.31 mols of NaOH, which yields this mass: 1.31mol x 39.997g/mol = 52.39g
So to drive the reaction to completion (equilibrium) (GBL + NaOH ---> NaGHB) for 100mL of GBL you need to add 52.39g NaOH.
If the pH is too low you need to slowly add more NaOH, if it's too high you need to slowly add more GBL.

Hi :)
We are currently setting up to supply top grade Na-GHB powder on Silk Road.
Vacuum sealed. Shipped from Europe.
Should be ready to run in a couple of weeks...
Any questions, please ask (Silk Road Market message preferred).

Forgot about this thread heh.
Jennifers's GBL is STELLAR TOP NOTCH ! I tried some before making NaGHB from it and phew boy it packs a punch. The NaGHB I aquired from hydrolyzing it is also absolutely fantastic !
Dunno bout this new BlueGiraffe guy's stuff, but if it's pure (clean) powdered GHB you might want to give him a try too, his prices seem fantastic.
I've got enough NaGHB that I made from the Jennifer's GBL to last me a lifetime practically lol so might not get around to trying his product out, but do keep this forum posted anyone who does try their's out.

Lol one pot synth yea if you want impure ghb theres steps after making it you have to take to assure purity its not some recipe u found off of the internet.
Actually .. it is a one step equimolar reaction wherein the ester is hydrolyzed under basic conditions .... GBL + NaOH -- > NaGHB
So long as you know what a mole is, can do some very simple math and can combine two liquids the intrinsic ester moiety of the cyclic lactone GBL is easily hydrolyzed under both basic and acidic conditions. Acidic conditions are reversible, however, so there an equilibrium between GBL and GHB interconversion.
Basic conditions however are irreversible since the gamma carbonyl of the linear hydrocarbon is hydroxylated (preventing the butane backbone from recyclyzing).
Who needs 'some recipe from the internet' BlindFaith when you are a Chemist?

So after u have made the reaction do u have plan on having powder or liquid? And do u not aerate the product or anything u simply leave it as is?
You dissolve the appropriate quantity of NaOH into the amount of water you are aiming for the concentration of, so that when you mix the GBL and NaOH the volume of converted liquid GHB is as much as you wish to consume. Why would you take a dissolved liquid of GHB and aspirate it into a powder? That would be going back one step just so that you can add water again later .... when it's already suspended in water. If you wish to for some reason crystallize the solubalized NaGHB you would simply aspirate with a Buchner funnel, but again, if you prepare your NaOH at the appropriate concentration so that you know the final concentration of NaGHB suspended in solution why in hell would you recrystallize it just so that you can solute it in water later? That is the silliest thing i've heard all day.
Why would you 'aerate' the solution? There are no dissolved gases since the reactant's are aqueous GBL and NaOH as is the product. It's also not an oxidation reaction, it's a base reaction, aeration if anything would degrade the gamma hydroxyl of the NaGHB. Aeration has no place in the synthesis of NaGHB from base GBL conversion.

Im talking about making ghb into liquid form not powder there is a way to make it liquid from gbl without making it powder and then dissolving it and its more stable as well pm me i can give u some pointers bro.
You are completely clueless dude lol.
The GBL is a LIQUID, the NaOH is dissolved in water to produce a LIQUID, you mix the two LIQUIDS and you end up with LIQUID NaGHB.
I was poking fun of your question about recrystallizing the product because IT IS A LIQUID!
How about I PM you and give you some pointers on basic high school chemistry?
-
I know gbl is a liquid i said nothing about recrystallizing what are you talking about?
Man you are on crack, i'm done with you. When you wish to discuss relevant chemistry get back to me, for now we're done and you're clueless.

It's very clean (see our reviews) and prices have actually come down since we originally listed. You seem to know (and enjoy) chemistry so I'm sure you won't be needing personally!
