Title: Vendors who put in transit, but don't send
Post by: bugsux on December 31, 2011, 02:17 am
Why do these assholes do this??  I'm a great buyer.  Rarely ask questions.  Finalize as minutes after getting mail.  Been here 6 months 27 transactions.  All perfect.  If they send me a PM saying it might take longer.  I would tell them OK.  Just don't put it in transit.

I had a few where I ordered from vendors and they sent nothing, but they never put it in transit so after 3 days I could simply cancel.  But when they put it in transit and don't send now you have to go through a bunch of shit to get a refund.  One it will take 3-4 weeks and two you might only get 50% of it.  I'm going through this shit with mellowyellow.  He's been MIA for 3 days now.

Anyone went through this type of shit and got any advise.  Thank you.

Do not buy from those vendor(s) for a 60 day period. Teach them a lesson. KEEP buying from reliable, tested, and true vendors. One REAL honest vendor comes to mind RIGHT AWAY.  :)  Who were you thinking of?

They do it for various reasons.
BTC Hedging
The system they have tells them it's boxed.
Then they work at sending the packages out. Going to various locations.
At least that is how I see the vendors side/excuse.

Then there are the scammers :(

Try to look at it this way, through a possible scenario.

Buyer makes a purchase on Friday.  The seller can't ship the product until Monday.  Seller waits until Mondays and ships the order and marks in transit.  Unfortunately, on the Sunday before, bitcoins dropped in value by 50%.  This means that the seller's BTC are only worth half of their original value because hedge escrow kicked in on Monday when the seller marked in transit.  The seller either makes no money or loses money.

Alternatively, the seller could have marked in transit on Friday.  That way, the BTC are protected by hedge escrow, and he is unaffected by the BTC drop.

I've lost money several times because of BTC fluctuation, and because I waited a few days to mark in transit.  I understand your point of view because it is misleading to say it's in transit when it hasn't been sent yet, but it's my only option to immediately protect my btc.  If anything, SR should protect the funds right when the transaction first takes place.  Until then, I hope you can see things from my perspective for a bit so we can move past this.

I never had this happen to me and its probably pretty rare occurrence. When it does happen its safe to assume that you either got scammed or the vendor made a mistake.
