Title: Second option for purchasing seller account
Post by: imexcited on December 07, 2011, 11:59 am
Hi

It irks me that Silk Road has such an inflexible system for buying seller accounts right now I do not have $150 to buy a seller account but have twice that in gear ready to go. Ready to be sold on Silk Road.

Perhaps Silk Road could offer a service where simply you get your seller account without paying a cent however the first 70BTC to come into the account goes directly to SR. If there is such a worry about "tainted" product then perhaps call it 20BTC up front with 50BTC to be placed into SR through purchases of the product. Either way if someone is out to hurt another person through dodgy gear I do not think $150 will stand in their way.

1. Create a thread to see if people are interested in the stuff you've got
2. See if anyone's willing to buy you a seller account in exchange for $150 worth of stuff
3. ? ? ? ?
4. PROFIT!

...isn't there quite a bit of risk involved there?

Sure. You need to trust that whoever you're sending $150 worth of stuff to is actually going to buy you a seller account.

You could probably work something out. Have them send you $150 in BTC. :p

I think the original post is an excellent idea!

...just as trying to start any business you need either capital or tools than could turn a raw material into the product which you could sell, my suggestion would be to commit the measly $150 assuming you have a job or some savings, and if you have a decent product you should be able to turn the sale into cash within 2 weeks.
