Title: Concern/Confusion regarding Bitcoin Fog
Post by: dolphinspeak on April 28, 2012, 02:15 am
I'm currently transferring bitcoins from my Bitcoin Fog account into my SR account (in small chunks over a number of hours). I thought Bitcoin Fog made you harder to trace because the coins will all leave from random addresses when you withdraw them.

However when I check my SR account page, I see all the coins are being transferred from the same address. I'm not even sure if it's a different address from the one I deposited to when I loaded them on to Bitcoin Fog.

Surely this isn't as secure as it would be if they all came from random addresses? Is this normal operating behaviour for a Bitcoin tumbler?

I hope someone can answer this, I'm curious as well.

I thought the point of the fog was to mix all the coins together(IE tumble) so the originating source of the coin could not be tracked.

Think of it like throwing a bunch of 100 dollar bills into a pile, stirring the pile up, then having everyone draw from the pile randomly.

^^^like Nero said

I think A LOT of people see that address as their Bitcoin Fog sending address.

Ahh, yes. The address is just the wallet where the new tumbled coins reside.
