Title: Silk Road mentioned in TV show last night
Post by: TerrorByte on December 07, 2012, 04:39 am
Anyone watch "Person of Interest"? Last night, episode 9, they are chasing down a laptop, and Finch says ...

"If Demon8 discovers what's on the laptop he may try to flip it, in which case he'd probably go to the Dark Net, try to sell it on ..Silk Road or one of those black market forums. I'll try to track him down and negotiate a meeting"

Better keep it in Escrow, people be dyin' over that laptop when they don't.

Critical Mass, Nothing can stop a movement after it reaches critical mass. The money is made exchanging, not in the selling.

They could have made something up, but instead they mention "Silk Road" by name... pretty soon, every kid old enough to walk will be using this damn site!

Yea, I wondered why they mentioned the real site, by name, even instead of something that only resembled it

Yep saw that too. I played it back a few times 'cause it was the shit hearing that.

Kind of makes you feel proud to be one of the early users of SR.

Person of Interest is one of my favorite shows.

That's funny that they would mention it. I know right now SR is still pretty underground, but I'm kind of afraid for it if it becomes way more popular.

I heard some young kids about 18 talking about the road in my local, gave the wife a wink.  But on a serious note any publicity is good publicity does not apply to silk road.

I think it's an event horizon.

That's awesome. Wait, no, the other thing. Dreadful. Fucking dreadful is what that is.

If SR becomes the "cool" "underground" pop culture reference du jour, it will motivate every looking-for-their-cause minor politician into a crusade to bring this place down. There's a reason why they made an example of Tommy Chong.

not a big deal..

this is just like when the movie Smiley mentioned 4chan in there movie...
everyone that was new was freaking out and saying the sites over and dead..
thinking it would be over run with newfags..  lol
they trolled them to the point there movie is now one of the worst ranked movies on imdb

nothing like that happened the people who can figure out how to use the site and have the balls to actually order
are welcome and venders would agree..
