I was wondering...
surely packages arriving from countries that a country is at war with are going to be intercepted more?
Take Argentina.
I guess it's not as cold as most of south america but it's still south america so perhaps the profiling of growing stuff would be more likely. But it's also a country where you might expect letterbombs to come from.
I wonder to myself, what are the chances of packages arriving from south america to europe and how does diplomatic relations effect this?
At first thought you'd think nothing would get through but when I think about it a bit more I bet stuff gets through just fine.
What's your experiences of south america to europe in general and other dodgy sounding routes?

I don't know anything about security, but I've heard that theft is a problem in countries with unregulated mail systems. I'd be more concerned with getting your shit jacked than intercepted by the authorities. It may help to disguise your shipments as something that's not worth stealing.
