Title: Scammer seller + refund = bad refund rate?
Post by: nuwave on May 04, 2012, 03:57 am
Just a question.. If a seller turns out to be a scammer and you cancel your order, wouldn't that affect your buyers rating (refund rate) and make it more likely for you to be scammed in the future? (from buyers insisting you finialize early due to the mark against your name)

If you cancel your order before it's marked in transit your refund rate wont be tainted.

If it goes to resolution and then you are refunded it will.

This scenario happened to me recently... So now I have a rate of 15%

Doesn't really matter though since I've made 23 purchases and only had this single refund.

Most sellers are very reasonable people and if you explain yourself it should be alright.

Don't ever finalize early, there's plenty of sellers out there who do not require it. Even if it costs a little more it's good to have the security of knowing they can't fuck you.

Also if you're new, make smaller purchases to get your buying stats up before going for the bigger ones. Sellers will likely be hesitant if you're buying in bulk and have no stats.
