Here is a message I've had sitting on my computer for a few days, waiting for SR to come back online so I can send it to the affected parties. I am posting it here in the hopes that you will see it and we can work something out when the main site comes back online. In any case, I know who was affected by this problem and I will be glad to work with you to make it right, whether the main site comes back or not. Just get ahold of me.
The message I was going to send via the main site follows:
Hello,
I apologize for sending this message so late – I intended to get it out days ago but I have not been able to access SR.
I have some bad news regarding your purchase. I’ve been checking the tracking number since I shipped it and the DCN did not update in the system until today. The status updated to show: “Dead Mail / Sent to Mail Recovery Center”.
I called the post office and apparently this is what happens when the label is damaged during shipment to the point that it can no longer be read (both the return address and destination are illegible). The mail is then forwarded to a processing center in Georgia where they attempt to salvage it if possible, otherwise it is destroyed. This happened to all the shipments I dropped off on that same day, not just yours. Everything from the day before and the day after has been delivered successfully. I do not believe the security of your address has been compromised. I’m inclined to believe someone at the post office removed the shipping label and stole the product, as I double check the addresses provided using the USPS +4 zip code formatting tool and also tape the labels to prevent water damage.
I will gladly offer you an immediate full refund of your purchase price or I am willing to reship the product at no cost to you. I am truly sorry for this delay and inconvenience. Please let me know what I can do to make the situation right for you.
I hope life is well,
-GP

I wish people took the approach GP does to his business and clients. Take a lesson from this guy.

I'm bumping this thread in the hopes more of my clients will see it. There are still a few of you from this unlucky shipment who I have not been able to reach...
