Title: WestCoast Organic's Review thread
Post by: DrGonzoII on September 16, 2012, 07:32 am
I just got a sample from WCO today, and it is hands down, the most generous sample that I have ever heard of being given on the silk road.
All in all, I recieved a total of  10.4 grams of weed and 3.2 grams of hash  ;D
Here is a photo of all of the products together, side-by-side
http://xfq5l5p4g3eyrct7.onion/view.php?image=77cf671a82da0757bd3621bf140d9b39.jpg

A Short Summary of The Contents of The Sample Pack:

- A representation of WCO's "budget weed". An outdoor/organically grown "White Rhino" in an untrimmed state.
- A representation of WCO's top-notch, "limted stock" weed. "Stinky Indica"
- A representation of WCO's "Low-grade Hash".
- A representation of WCO's "personal stash", high-grade hash (two different types, sent to me as a bonus for helping him out getting set up ;D )
- And the most exciting part of the sample pack (for me anyways):
3 separate phenotypes of what appears to be WCO's primary strain: "Island Sweet Skunk"

The shipping and packaging was as professional it gets

Multiple vacuum layers, and a visibility reduction layer
Properly printed address labels. (made with a printer that won't rat him out......from what I can tell)
Zero scent until the final layer was breached.
And it arrived in only two days.
If he keeps this level of professionalism up, than he should have no problem maintaining a perfect vendor score (once he reaches the point of having one)

And during my extended communications  with WCO, It seems that they tend to respond in a timely manner to most messages. And I feel extremely confident that they will soon become a positive/powerful force in the High-Grade Marijuana market on here.

My Photos and Individual Review of Each Item is as Follows:

---------------0.6g of "Stinky Indica"---------------
http://xfq5l5p4g3eyrct7.onion/view.php?image=38d35a39c689ee47db6b7a1b03978f6f.jpg

 - Appearance: Naturally dense and wonderfully developed buds, covered in a beautiful blanket of short white trichromes that make it rather sticky.

 - Smell: I can understand its name, as this really is a pungent bud. When I opened the bag it was almost like having a pot plant fart in my face. But I can't really discern any unique factors of the scent. It is a pungent but bland odor

 - Taste: Much like the smell; pungent yet bland. I was actually surprised at how smooth it was though. I could take massive hit with minimal to no coughing

 - High: Total Couchwreck. Due too the incredibly smooth smoke, I decided to see how big of a toke I could take and that had me absolutely floored by the end of the Bowl. This stuff also gives you a major headband effect.

 - Comments: This is a pretty good one-hit-wonder type of pot. and its smoothness makes it a perfect candidate for the gravity bong. And based on the size/shape/color of the hairs and trichromes, I would say that this is one of those buds that was picked and cured right at its peak with the upmost care taken in all parts of the process.

---------------1.9g of Outdoor/Organic "White Rhino"---------------
http://xfq5l5p4g3eyrct7.onion/view.php?image=2e9ccb8daa14fededeed9b6829e01cb3.jpg

 - Appearance: This is a Light and airy, untrimmed bud, dried in such a way as to create a thin veil of leaf on the outside of the bud. Underneath this veil are nicely formed flowers, covered with orange hairs and trichromes. Which gives it a nice "Au Natural" appearance

 - Smell: I am reminded of the colonial term "Sweet Hemp". Due to the simpler growing/curing techniques, this bud has an odor that can best be described as rustic.

 - Taste: Smooth and sweet with a very mild hint of a plant/chlorophyll taste. Much like the scent; the terms "Rustic" and "Sweet Hemp are good descriptions. Plain and somewhat like a more refined and mature version of good mids.

 - High: Despite its simple appearance, this packs quite a decent indica-type buzz. Great for sleep and neck pain however, I was a little too couchlocked to be of much use. I ended up falling asleep early and getting a good 12 hours of rest after my testing with this stuff.

 - Comments : This is a great "budget-weed" for people that are short on money but don't wanna buy mids. And It is a wonderful choice if your one of those organic hippies that want an all-natural, no-frills stash.

----------------1.8g of "Low-grade" Hash---------------
http://xfq5l5p4g3eyrct7.onion/view.php?image=c5fea91bf08f5b866f7751f25abdf3bd.jpg

 - Appearance: Rather dark colored, inside and out. And it is some of the hardest/densest hashes I have seen in some time. Like a rock. I could barely break a piece of it with my bare hands or nails. and I ended up having to use a razor blade to break chunks off of it

 - Smell: Mild/minimal odor. What little smell there was is sharp and extremely spicy. But not in a disagreeable way.

 - Taste: Very "Moroccan". Smooth on small hits but deceptively harsher on with larger tokes. with a mild spicy/dieselish aftertaste.

 - High: Rather A-typical, CBN dominant buzz. Its good for "getting fucked up" on the cheap but I wouldn't recommend it for the patient, unless they are on a budget

Comments : With the exception of the outstanding hardness, I would say that this hash is very comparable, in all respects, to the Moroccan Hash that UGS was/is selling for while. Depending on what kind of price tag WCO puts on this, it could be a good bang for your buck.

---------------1.4g of WCO's "Personal Stash" Hash (Two Types)---------------
http://xfq5l5p4g3eyrct7.onion/view.php?image=805c2b1fbab142640908784632175d5b.jpg

#1
 - Appearance: this is the darker of the 2. It is also a bit harder and somewhat better pressed (I like a firm hash) but still maliable like hard modeling clay.

 - Smell: It has that a-typical diesel smell but with a mild hint of fruit (almost like the fruity smell from the Island Sweet Skunk). It is also more pungent than the other hash

 - Taste: Again, atypical/Dieselish, Kick in the back of the throat flavor. Not that bad, It just has that harshness that most good hash does.

 - High: Another one of those "kick your ass" mixed-cannabinoid type of buzzes. It was mostly cerebral at first but there is some "creeping" to it that leaves you feeling blasted, just a tad bit useless and looking Asian.........Good Stuff

#2
 - Appearance: this has a softer texture that crumbles easily into sticky/sandy particles with a lighter color to it

 - Smell: The aroma is lighter and less pungent than the other hash with something of a pine-like aroma

 - Taste: Very smooth and tasteless on the inhale. but there is a spicy/bite in the exhale

 - High: More cerebral than the other hash, less of the Asian-eye-syndrome. More functional but still as potent. gave me a bit of anxiety though (I'm prone to anxiety to begin with)

Comments: I'm not sure if WCO will be offering either of these as the were referred to as his "personal stash". But if he does than I recommend them for the high-grade hash lover that doesn't like spending the cash for BHO.

---------------7.9g of various phenotypes of "Island Sweet Skunk"----------------

#6
http://xfq5l5p4g3eyrct7.onion/view.php?image=8ac7971120dd10344e504f41c2568514.jpg
#8
http://xfq5l5p4g3eyrct7.onion/view.php?image=3e88fb784da4d8532055833f4fff5370.jpg
#9.1
http://xfq5l5p4g3eyrct7.onion/view.php?image=2f8b0d45ff8cbb4defa949188e3aca3d.jpg
#9.2
http://xfq5l5p4g3eyrct7.onion/view.php?image=deb7cf631f2fc12360e9824da946f92e.jpg

Here is a photo of all four samples of the Island Sweet Skunk, side-by-side
http://xfq5l5p4g3eyrct7.onion/view.php?image=598e6062829f834002e877957f6ddd9e.jpg

NOTE: it seems that the two samples of #9 are the same

 - Appearance: These buds are all naturally dense, and perfectly matured. Plenty of red hairs that look like frayed rope under magnification because of the trichromes they are covered with.
 - - Differences:
#6: This phenotype has the biggest and most vibrant hairs (looks like a ginger jungle). Its texture is also a bit more rigid and less sticky than the others
#7: This phenotype has almost as much but they are lighter in color and more petite. And although the bud is as dense as the rest, the individual "petals" of the flower are also more petite in a way that gives it a slightly more "fluffy/airy" appearance"
#9: This phenotype has shorter hairs of a darker shade of red. and it has a much denser layer of trichromes over the entire bud, which also makes its the stickiest of the bunch. the "petals" also seem a bit thicker and juicier on this specimen.

 - Smell: I can understand where the name comes from, as this strain can best be described as tropical or fruity. But there is also a spicy undertone that makes it more robust.
 - - Differences:
#6: is the sweetest in aroma. And even a non-smoker found it's odor to be agreeable (they said they would "rather smell that instead of patchouli" when they are around hippies)
#8: this phenotype embodies the spicier qualities of this strain. (the non-smoker remarked that it was almost like cinnamon.)
#9: this phenotype strikes a good compromise between the other two. Sweet and spicy. The overall smell is almost like a skunky mango.
     [::homer simpson:: "Mmmmmm.......Skuuuunnnnky Maaannngo"]

 - Taste: They all have a very similar tropical flavor. Sweet and rather smooth, with the main difference between them being the amount of spice/bite
 - - Differences
#6: This, again, is the smoothest and sweetest. There was virtually no harshness to the smoke and I could take some massive hits with it.
#8: This one had the biggest kick to the throat of all three. It wasn't overpoweringly harsh, just strong in flavor with a decent bite too it
#9: Much like the smell, this phenotype is like fair blend of the other two. Both sweet and spicy. Very well rounded, overall.

 - High: Very cerebral high in general. not really any couchlock but not much anxiety either. I felt really buzzed but still motivated to do stuff. Very Sativa-like
 - - Differences
#6: This one was purely cerebral. super clear-headed.
#8: This one was a bit more fuzzy. like it had a hint of the lesser cannabinoids.
#9: This one is almost as cerebral as #6 but it has a small bit of fuzziness as well

Comments: To paraphrase Goldilocks: "#6 was to soft, #8 was to harsh, #9 was just right". But in all seriousness, the differences between these phenotypes is very slight and would go unnoticed by most casual smokers. And even more dedicated smokers would find it hard to find major difference unless they compare them all side by side.
I am going to venture a guess that #9 was based on a mix of #6 and #8 in some way or another. I am also going to assume (for various reasons) that #9 is going to be his main crop. That would make a fine choice and it is apparent that it is a well-crafted bud with a lot of time and hard work invested into it. But I would like to recommend that he keep some of the #6 on hand for the pot heads/patients that need extra-smooth varieties (I can think of several friends/family that died from emphysema that could have used a smooth bud like #6 near the end).

So to recap.....THIS IS A GRADE AAA WEED VENDOR WITH SOME WONDERFUL PRODUCTS AND METHODS

+1

Thank you Dr. Gonzo and +1 for your very detailed review.  I just ordered an ounce of the White Rhino: the Grand Wizard is always happy to find reasonably priced middies and this sounds like some excellent smoke.

i'm happy to help new vendors become established but monday/tuesday shipping turning into shipping "this week" and pushing it until the very last business day is not an auspicious start to a vendors account, especially when shipping materials seem to be a problem...

i understand that people have their own lives and some things take precedence over others but if you aren't ready to vend your product on the road, you shouldn't waste peoples time.

i'll keep the faith the rest of the week and i'll probably give WestCoastOrganics a few more days into next week but i'm not going to sit around forever. some of us medicate outside the 17 states willing to allow medical access.

let me know if guys find my descriptions accurate when you guys get your orders

And I did chat with him extensively on ways to perfect stealth shipping for the super paranoid. So he may be trying to get that in order.  Hopefully he gets it sorted soon and gets you guys your orders.

Fuck, dude. You actually put my reviews to shame, and I say that as someone who takes pride in my past work. I'm going to work harder now, just to match you on quality. :)

Nine days after my order, and my oz. has not arrived.  Two messages to WestCoast Organic have gone unanswered and unread. According to his vendor page, he was last seen five days ago.  In our last (and to date only) communication he informed me that my package was "packed and ready to go" and would be sent out "priority with DCN" on Saturday, 9/22.

I have asked that he either send me the DCN or, if the package has not yet been sent, that he cancel the order and release my bitcoins.  I'll keep you posted on the status of this, but right now I'm not very impressed with WCO or with the middies market on SR in general.  At present I've had two domestic weed orders take longer to arrive at my house than packages from Spain, England and South Africa.

if you aren't ready to launch a SR account then don't. sounds like i'm not the only one who's time is being wasted. i'll keep the faith until tomorrow but unless WCO communicates ones hell of an explanation and offers to shower us in goodies, i'd be a fool not to take my business elsewhere.

am i out of line? i understand real life takes precedence over SR but 6 days since he's even been seen on the road is outrageous when packages were supposed to go out on the 25th at the latest.

hopefully he's alright...

I'm glad I'm not the only one in this boat.  I order a gram of hash and it was marked "in transit" two Thursday ago.  I also messaged WCO about my order and haven't receive a response.  I understand everyone has problems,  but as customer,  when a vendor can't answer PMs  that's not a good look for that vendor's rep....

update. i messaged WCO asking him to contact me before making any shipments because i am unsatisfied with his customer service. i've yet to receive a response and both of my orders are now cancelled. considering that all of my communication has been friendly at best and civil at worst, this is somewhat offensive. really hoping he makes this right.

so far it's a 1/5  for a waste of time :'(

WestCoastOrganics has refunded my bitcoins for my purchase of 1 oz white rhino indica.  I appreciate this and I hope he is able to sort things out with everyone else.

sure, who wouldn't be grateful for their money back after this debacle. sounds like all orders have been cancelled and refunded so hopefully things straighten out and SR is eventually blessed with another reliable vendor. the 'stinky' indica looked tasty and i'd love a taste of the sweet skunk :)

Hello every one. I want to offer my sincerest apologies I had every intention to be the very best vendor as far as customer service fast turn around time super deals etc. What I didn't want was to be one of the big shots. I was thinking I would sell 3-4oz a week maybe ship out a package or two 3 or 4 days a week. But with in 48 hours I had over a pound of sales I had to shut down all my listings, I completely ran out of shipping supplies every one who placed an order I packaged it all up, it took hours and I had a mountain of packages filled with weed and hash. I felt completely over whelmed and super paranoid about going to the post office with tons of packages filled with shit that could land me a lot of time! The night before I was going to ship out orders I had a dream the FBI and DEA raided my house etc. So it really freaked me out and I immediately opened all the packages cut though all four layers of packing got all the scrapped material filled a trash bag and dumped it in an anonymous trash can far from me. I even gave away my laptop I was using for business even though I operate with a USB OS. I hid my USB and took some time to chill out and figure out how I was going to do this and be comfortable. I never anticipated so much business so fast as a new vendor and I never wanted to do business like that to begin with but before I even had a chance to pull my listing I was in way over were I wanted to be. So I canceled every ones orders and disappeared. I have thoroughly evaluated the situation and Im working on making it up to the customers I disappointed. So if you had placed an order with me please contact me for a special offer. As of now I am going to help the people who placed orders first. I am only shipping 1 package per week right now and plan on working up to 5 orders per week maximum. I am also making all listing stealth and only shipping 1/2oz bud or 1 oz hash per package per person per week max! So if you tried to order from me please send me a message on SR for a special offer. Right now I am helping 1 customer per week next week I may do 2. I already have three customers I am helping so it may take some time but I will do everyone right for my short comings. Looking forward to helping you out and offer small scale quality service.

Hello there all! Anyone who has tried to order from me when I first opened and your order was canceled I am still offering special pricing for you. I am excepting order requests from new individuals as well under my new guide lines 1/2oz herb or 1oz hash max per person per week. If you are interested send your request to me on the road and I will create a stealth listing for your order. Right now I am willing to ship up to 5 orders per week, and im going to have extra help soon to ship more orders soon.

All products are still in stock that dr gonzo reviewed aside from the stinky indica I also have Island Sweet Skunk buds that I just gave a ruff cut instead of manicuring real nice because having a fall out with my fiance and having to move I didnt have the time to trim every frosty little leaf off but its still trimmed up good and for a discounted price Same dank super sticky buds. My prices are below the roads going rate and I always ship over weight.

Message me at westcoastorganic on the road for your requests.

The one negative feed back I got was because I had to cancel all orders when I first opened shop that user has since posted new feed back and it speaks for itself. I also have one 3/5 rating as a result of accidentally shipping the wrong product I am shipping him the right product at witch point he will change to a 5.

Orders are now going out. I ship once a week right now maybe twice once I get my help ill aim for 4-5 days a week.

I will do everything I can to make my customers happy!

I'm planning on placing an order for a QP of this vendors white rhino tomorrow.

I contacted the vendor before hand about refund policy and was told you receive 100% incase of a no show, so with this im more then willing to invest my time and money

hoping this will pay off, looking forward to seeing what this vendor has to offer and the quality of service they can provide.

From what I've seen, he's very prompt with replies and cares more about safety and being secure rather then making money, which is always good to see, even if it would slightly decrease the quality of service as people stated previously, but with the time differences between what others have said about the service, I'm sure everything has been taken care of by now.

Looking forward to doing business with you WCO

Will keep everyone updated here

Really excited about being one of the first to try WCO's glass and can't wait to give him as thorough and detailed review as I can! Have already had some discussion back and forth with WCO, and he has been very professional, polite, and responsive without much time to wait for a reply! Not sure when he is going to ship as the order is just now processing, but he has already told me he is sending a little over a half g to try out for you guys! Expect a full review of the shards and will update you all when it arrives sometime next week. So far, thumbs way up for WCO! I can already tell he's a solid vendor who puts his clients first.

lol  What a pussy!  You come onto the road with intentions to ship out packages and because of some dream you go throw away thousands of dollars of goods!?!
Dude you ain't got what it takes to even be a dealer on the streets then.  Get off the road!  Most sellers ship out a hundred or more packages a week.  You're too paranoid and a waste of buyers time!  Maybe you are LE yourself trying to get some SR users info!  Maybe do some research before you go thinking this is a joke site.  You can also set your limits of what and how much you are selling.  You sound like an 18 year old kid if even that!
How could anyone trust purchasing from you after all this shit?  What's anyone else think of this?  Is this just some bullshit or what?  Either way it's a BS excuse to be a seller on here!  Wannabe!

Alright guys.....Shipment came in today from WCO Grape Ape Special.
5/5 Shipping-It took 3 days from being shipped out on the 12th of August so speed was good.
3/5 Packaging/Stealth- Was so-so....heat sealed double smell proof plastic....although some smell managed to leak out a tad bit and was wrapped with bubble wrap....
5/5 Product- Very good! Extremely skunky and had decent amount of crystals! I was very pleased! Was a tad bummed that there was a quite a bit of stem, but beggars cant be choosers and I'm thoroughly enjoying product!
2/5 Communication- Definitely something that needs to improve on...simple messages to customer or even a single no would've sufficed, but I got nothing when I asked questions.

WCO is g2g aside from those short comings....Will deal with again! Thank you WCO for the product!
