Title: bitinstant process question
Post by: thetallguy747 on June 12, 2013, 02:49 pm
Total newbie here.  I just made a cash transaction to my bitinstant account, giving my SR wallet address as the final destination.  As I look in my bitinstant account it now says the transaction has been executed.  But I don't have any bitcoins in my SR account.  Do I need to do a separate bitinstant transaction to get the bc from there to my SR wallet?  Or does bitinstant send it directly to my SR wallet?

Thanks!

Be patient, it can take a couple hours for the bitcoins to show in your account. The way it works is the bitcoin transactions have to be verified a minimum of 6 times (usually 8 times) before they show up. Silk Road has a tumbler as well so it could take a bit for them to show in your account. My first transaction (deposit) showed up within a couple to 3 hours AFTER the deposit was initiated, each deposit thereafter has been between 1-2 hours per deposit.
If it hasn't shown up in more than 8 hours then there is a problem.
Check the transaction on blockchain.info (http://blockchain.info)
Do this in a seperate browser, not using TOR as it is a clearnet page.
