Title: How reliable is UK to UK post?
Post by: skunkette on April 25, 2012, 09:15 pm
I purchased an item on SR which was posted to me by UK first class mail. It still has not arrived after more than a week. Do you have any experience of packages being "lost" in the UK post? How common is it?

Royal Mail are usually superbly reliable and offer a great service, the only possible issue is if you have lucked out and got a stoner postman who recognised the package and "mislaid" it in his pocket.
It probably will turn up eventually, as stated above things sometimes get stuck in a corner of the sorting office by mistake.

ive never had an issue with anything going missing, but have had to wait a few times longer than normal,my postie is spot on so no thieving from him ever,,,imagine the amount of packets etc that are sent on a daily basis through fleabay, some will as stated end up in the corner and not found for a while
also when my postie is off ive had my mail go to the wrong house and they never bothered forwarding it on for a week, theres all kinds of scenarios but i would just hold tight,

Problems with Royal Mail are usually fairly consistent, so if your mail has always been on time up until this point then perhaps it's suspect. You should be able to tell how reliable your mail is. Look at letters that arrive and see when they were posted.

But as you can see from those above it's not unusual for them to be slow.

I've ordered 6 things UK to UK and the longest I've waited is 2 days.

Good Luck!
