Title: Resolution center refund, fair percentage?
Post by: BanWork on July 08, 2012, 02:31 pm
I placed a small order with a vendor, it shipped about 15 days ago but never arrived (normally takes 2 days from that country). I have contacted the vendor several times to ask if there have been any delays, and if they can provide a tracking number. S/He has not replied to my messages and I know they have  been around.

I don't believe s/he's ripping me off because they have a  good reputation, but I do believe there has been some error made in shipping the package, I've had no love letter (perhaps to early for that?) and I know I didn't provide the wrong address by accident, lost in the post is one possibility but thats SO rare IME. I've no idea why this vendor is not replying to my my messages, perhaps they think I am trying to scam them...  either way I would like to have had some communication.  :-\

Anyhow, I have again allowed a few days since my last message but as I've still had no reply I have taken it to the resolution center. As I have had absolutely no feedback from the vendor I've asked for a 100% refund. Do you think it's fair to expect that amount or should I have put in a lower figure?

In your situation I think I would have done exactly that.  I don't know why a vendor would choose to behave this way.  You are certain that they have been around?  I just ask because sometimes a person experiences a crisis and has to let things go for the good of the family, mental health, etc.

In light of the circumstances you deserve 100% back but I don't know what the RC will say!  Sometimes weird delays do occur though.  I wouldn't totally write this package off just yet.  Mail is kind of like that lone kernel of corn that passes through like 5 days after you ate corn- and you are left baffled at where it was.

Am I comparing our government workers in the postal system to shit?  Why yes...yes I believe that I am.

I had the exact same issue last week. In fact, your story is word for word, the same as mine.

I got no love letter and made sure I stated that in my appeal to the resolution center. Vendor eventually came on and offered 50% refund.
I accepted refund and left a 1/5 feedback. Within an hour, the vendor contacted me asking why I left the 1/5. I responded saying that I had doubts that the letter was posted in the first place on account of getting no love letter and the fact that letters don't really go missing. He then offered to refund me the remaining 50% if I changed the feedback to a 5/5.

To answer your question, I think you should ask for 100% refund, based on the fact that you got no love letter.

Taking it into resolution and asking for 100% is a good start. you can tell them that a lack of communication had caused the entire issue and you never received the customs letter.

@ psychedelicmind you can never be 100% sure of anything with the vendor. He might not have shipped the item out, but there again vendor stats mean a lot to some people and they are willing to do a lot to keep themselves 100%

Cheers guys, much useful info as always!  ;)

My resolution offer and message have still not had a response  :-\ I know the vendor has been active on the forums and on the SR.

What happens if the seller doesn't respond? Am I right in thinking it will then go to SR admin to decide?

Yes after a cretin amount of time it will come down to the silk road admin to do something. Most vendors try to resolve it there but this vendor may decide to dick you around just to hold up the process. I am not too sure what the time limits are though.
