Title: JPEG Scrubber
Post by: DigitalDream on April 03, 2012, 08:02 pm
I was just wondering if this application (JPEG Scrubber) is enough to remove all the EXIF/META/I don't know the other stuff cuz i'm a noob at cleaning up photo's ?  I want to post some pics on my listings, but wan't them to be as anonymous as possible (without linux)

You can save the image first to .BMP (for example), then open the BMP and re-save it in the format you really want, like .JPG. The BMP format has no provision for exif data (or other tagged data for that matter), so this method effectively gets rid of it.... and BMP is a lossless format, so you won't loose anything by the double-save.

Go check for a program called Batch Purifier. The free version works on only jpeg images, which is all you need anyways. You can do entire folder selection at once & it will clean all the files.

I found a good app that does batch directories, or any highlighted files (by dragging, it can also be integrated into the shell) called JPEG & PNG Stripper.

I checked with an app called GeoSetter and it seems all the data was wiped, the images I didn't treat with that stripper app showed a lot of info, the images I used that app for showed nothing.
