Title: New vendor review, NorCalChronic "meh" (sorry)
Post by: poshiger on April 11, 2013, 02:31 am
Hey guys, I just got my package today. This is the face I had opening it.  :-\

Maybe I'm using the best vendors as comparison, but that's what I want. It's what I was expecting. The most unfortunate part is that the vendor was really great with their communication. Now I've got to delicately tell them it stinks and try not to offend them personally, especially if they grew it. I gave a 5/5 for communication alone but I would have rather given a 3-4. I just don't smoke this stuff anymore.  :o

The purplebubbleberry (pbb) is the only one with a unique scent, and you can actually get a decent aroma, but the other three strains have a sharp fertilizer smell -- all similar and nasty smelling. The same scent shows up in the pbb, but the brighter, fruity notes are there to mask it. The density and trichome development isn't where I'd want it either. The buds from all four plants are similarly underdeveloped, and unnaturally dense when you pull them apart. It honestly reminds me of styrafoam. Not the right kind of dank.

They DO burn a stark white, which surprised me, and is always a good sign.

pic: no pics here, nothing to see people.

Shipping was medium. Stealth was ok.

tl;dr: Keep shopping.

I'm gonna try his AK47 and see if what you say is accurate. Not saying I don't trust you, but I'm suspect of anyone who makes a review thread just to say bad things about a vendors product. Especially when the vendor is a newbie and can't post in this forum to defend his product. Pretty distasteful thing to do to a new vendor if you ask me.

I am new to posting on this site(been lurking on a dif account for awhile)but i am confused.Isnt  the whole reason of writing a review to say if it was good or bad?Are you only supposed to say if a product is good?In a perfect world you would wish he contacted the vendor about any problems before starting a thread to work it out.Like i said i am new to this i just thought starting a review thread on a vendor should be done regardless of quality to give others an idea of what the product/vendor is like.

I agree one review does not mean anything one way or another and no way to know for sure an people should give the vendor a try as it could have been a misunderstanding or something but isnt telling people they should not start a review of a new vendor unless they say something positive defeat the purpose? That does suck if the vendor can not respond never really thought of that.

Again i am new just getting into the swing of things here and apologize if i am off base. Thanks for all reply's in advance

He should have posted it in the vendor thread that NorCalChronic already created in the newbie forum. The vendor has 130 sales with all positive reviews on the same weed except for this one guy, and this one guy goes and makes a new thread to essentially tell you not to buy from NorCalChronic. The "tl;dr: Keep shopping." at the end is just a douche bag way to end the review. And in the title he says "meh, sorry", what a fucking dick head. Shows zero respect to the vendor right off in the title, fuck him.

His opinions also come off very snobby like he went to weed college or something. Never mentions potency or flavor, just nitpicks subjective things that are more preference than a measure of quality.

Sometimes other vendors will do things like this to fuck with new vendors, I'm not saying that's what is happening here but I've seen it happen before. Sometimes customers will do this stuff to try and get free weed from a vendor. The vendor sees the thread and tries to make him happy with free weed. I think this is more than likely the case here. Just saying.

Yeah it can get interesting on these forums, lots of games going on behind the scenes.

He didn't have good intentions when he made this thread, it was just to bash a vendor. I think most people see through it but I felt the need to point it out.

There is also an Honest Vendor Review thread for that kind of review.

Don't care.

I post a haul thread for every purchase. If the weed is bad, I call it out. I'm just honest, and when these vendors bill it as top-quality, I'm going to compare them to the top-quality on the silk road. If it's a reseller, then maybe they go buy a better product to sell to us. If the vendor is a grower, then I sincerely apologize to that grower, but markets be markets.

fuck yea ! call em out, and lets get to the nitty gritty,

greenhouse, should be a lil' more expensive then outdoor, and greenhouse is not indoor,

and all indoor aint organic, and some indoors are hydropronic systems

i wish they did better representation of products real good and exactly for what they are

i seen outdoor thats better than some reseller best indoor, which was sold to them as "greenhouse"

This review did not seem too harsh.
And better here than in the newbie forum, who goes back there once you hit the post limit?

more reviews = good for customers, we should not discourage them

Did you get high? What did it taste like? Was it cured properly? What kind of honest review leaves this information out? You are more than welcome to post whatever review you want, but I'm gonna call out a bullshit review when I see it. You know what you posted was disrespectful and possibly even damaging to the vendor's business.

Nowhere in his descriptions does he claim it's top-quality, that's something you made up in your own head.

Anyone who uses the search function will find the vendor's thread in the newbie forum. That is where he should have posted it, or even in the Honest Vendor review thread. To start a new thread just to bash a vendor is a dick move.

If you had a bad experience with a vendor or got fucked over, then a thread like this is justified. When your complaint is underdeveloped trichomes and smell then you sound like an asshole nitpicking weed based on your own personal preferences.

You'll often see vendors talk about customers that can't be pleased and bitch no matter what, this is an example of that. I've seen it happen on my go-to vendor's feedback where somebody is complaining about the quality of the same strain I had bought. Take this guys review with a handful of salt.

You can try to justify it however you want. Most people won't take your review seriously after reading this thread.

I got a mix of his buds and was thrilled with it. I can't say anything bad about this guy. The package was packed VERY well. I will be ordering from him again, and I would seriously question the OP.

I got my AK47 today and I'm very satisfied, it's pretty dank like he advertised. Same quality I get from top vendors at the same price.

There are so many people who try to scan vendors and threaten to give bad reviews if they don't give into the demands of the buyer. I think when you buy you need to consider what the cost of the product is and what the seller says about the bud. What you think of one bud another might think differently. It is nice to give reviews but you should be positive unless someone sends you total shit. I have gotten different buds, same name, one where you take one puff and you are out and another where it takes a few puffs and the results are slightly different. This guys bud is very good, especially for the price.
If this thread has you interested I am pretty sure he still has the 4gm for $X not sure what the price was but it was better then 3.5 of one strain. The purpose of this is most likely so you can see how his stuff is and them order what you like. If you don't like it, don't order it. Talk to the vendor and explain why you don't like it, see what he says. I am sure if you are reasonable he will do something on your next order to make it right. When I ordered he gave me a sample of Sensi-Star, prob spelled wrong but, It was wonderful. I liked it better then the other but that is because I need an energizing buzz as I have MS and so I do use it medicinally.
Here is to NCC Keep vending and Stop the Scammers
