Title: Privoxy - smart to mess change default settings?
Post by: bauMAU5 on November 12, 2012, 09:40 pm
I’m not a programmer by any measure. It was a major undertaking then feat to get Leberte Linux up and running on a USB stick. So, with this in mind I’m using the latest build of Leberte which I’m sure you know uses it’s own version of firefox and privoxy. Recently when I try to log onto SR or SR forum I repeatedly get a privoxy timeout error msg. I use Leberte’s create new tor id’ 3-4 times but the same timeout error msg. appears.

I know SR is still down but I time-out on SR forum.

My question is it wise to mess with privoxy’s default settings? I know of their CGI editor to change/manage settings but I’m not confident in my 'programming’ skills enough to mess with privoxy’s editor. Privoxy’s own website mentions that doing so could daemonize you.

So, I guess I’m just seeking some info for the esteemed SR community.

thnx & take care,
bm

I hope this is ‘bump’ worthy but my OP was misleading/wrong/incorrect. Leberte uses a torified browser ‘epiphany’ which is built around the gnome web browser. With that said is it still wise to mess with the privoxy default settings?

Today I’m timing out like a mofo on the SR forum.

I’m going bat-shit cray cray,
