Title: Google's "changes" suck
Post by: LowWaterGate on February 01, 2012, 01:16 pm
I'm immensely dissatisfied with Google's privacy changes.  Can anyone recommend a search engine that doesn't track and tailor every keystroke I make?  I don't understand why they did what they did but I want an alternative.  I used to use Google on Tor but now question the sensibility of that.

Easy, scroogle. Same google search results, not logging your searches.
Though I don't know why you are disturbed at this now, google has been logging your every keystroke, email, and click history since it's inception pretty much. All in the name of better marketing....

To everyone who replied, thank you.  I've done my research but I'm trusting the proprietors of the websites that I'm investigating.  I'd just assume trust y'all.

What search engine is the most respectful of one's privacy?  DuckDuckGo seems to take it seriously.  Jefferys, thanks for the lead.

As soon as I read that google basically censored the marijuana question out of the presidential youtube debate, even though it was one of the most voted for questions by the people.

I know, right? I was reading about that shit on NORML. Politicians are some shady mother fuckers. If I remember correctly, Obama was on video stating that he would decriminalize. I voted for Obama the first time. If I could still vote, Ron Paul would have mine this time. At least he'd legalize weed before he died of old age. lol And the weed issue would be the first thing he took care of.

Using Google with all the scripts off. If you disable scripts, there is no more annoying key-tracking and mouse-tracking.

Leave the cookies off to avoid personal tracking.

Remember IP != person.

With cookies and scripts off, you're just another number.
