Title: Screwed by vendor marthastewart - DO NOT BUY FROM THIS VENDOR
Post by: dkfjsleiwoqp on June 19, 2013, 10:53 pm
I got majorly f*cked by marthastewart, listen up and take heed.

I'm only a lurker on the forums, but I've been around here for a couple of months, and have several grand in transactions under my belt. I ordered small from marthastewart, and everything went ok. We exchanged a few messages about a substantially larger order, and I agreed to finalize early given that the price of the order was a couple thousand dollars. They say it's shipped, I say 'great,' and wait. No package comes, and I send a followup three days later asking for a tracking number. No response. I follow up again in another two days. No response. I follow up yet again in another two days. No response. I see from the stats that they logged on, so it looks like I'm being ignored.

The address I gave has individually locked mailboxes (basically PO boxes). I've never had mailing issues with this location, and I verified that I did in fact give the correct address. Based on that, and given that the vendor won't provide me with a tracking number or respond to my messages at all, I can only assume that I'm getting f*cked. My guess is that they either didn't send it at all, or maybe they sent it to the wrong address.

What are my options? I finalized early because of the large size of the order, which in retrospect was obviously a bad call. I'm pretty upset that I'm out a substantial amount of cash and that I was blatantly screwed over, and it seems that there isn't much I can do. Any advice?

Why did you FE on such a large order, and with out at least a tracking number, not sure what i would do yet wait and see what others here might reply with. Then act on it.?

I suggest you contact SR admin at once. I'm sure if he's up to no good they will lock it down. He needs to provide a tracking digit soon. I don't want to patronize you but I sincerely hope you have learned now never F/E. Hope you get some resolution.

Sadly that's why they always say NEVER EVER FINALIZE. If anyone asks you to finalize, it's better to just move on to a vendor who doesn't require it. Since you finalized I don't believe there's much that Admin can do at all. The most you can do is spread the word and move on.

Avoid threatening a vendor. They most likely still have your address.

Keep trying and see if you can appeal to their humanity. Don't take an all or nothing at all disposition. Try to get something.

marthastewart has a (97) next to her name.

The OP has 51 posts.

Now I'm not saying old martha isn't a scammer, but let's not get ahead of ourselves.

Thanks for the responses guys. It's definitely obvious that I made a big mistake finalizing early, and I'm definitely not going to do that again. I thought I was doing them a favor since I am newer here... shame on me for being naive.

Also, thanks for the tip on the bold message titles in your sent mail - I did not know that. My last 4 messages to him all are bold, so that means he hasn't read them? I feel like a vendor should read a message titled "Missing shipment"... I guess I'll just keep sending new ones to bump it up in the list.

I don't want my post to be misconstrued as threatening - I know that won't get me anywhere, and that's not my intention. And all of my messages to the vendor have been polite and concise, asking for any updates and the tracking number. I just wish that I had some insight at all into the issue, instead of no contact whatsoever. I've reported the seller with the info in this thread, and I guess there isn't much else I can do.
