Hello All,
I'm posting here with hopes that someone may have run into this problem before and may be able to shed some light onto what may have happened and possible avenues of correcting the problem.
Two days ago I made two deposits using BitInstant. These deposits were supposed to go directly to my BlockChain wallet. One made it, the other did not. I have checked the CashPayment.com site(owned by ZipZap) using my email address and both recent transactions show as "Paid" however the BTC from only one of the transactions showed up in the wallet.
I have sent an email to support@bitinstant.com but have not heard a reply back in the last two days.
Any insight would be greatly appreciated

I made a deposit earlier today and it hasnt gone thru yet. Its been about 6 hours, usually it takes 1 or 2 at the most. Im a littled worried now that you havent heard back from bitinstant in two days. Usually they are very quick to respond. I also have it being sent to my blockchain wallet. Just emailed support, well see.

Still not reply from BitInstant... Hoping this is just because they might be busy with the work on their site. I've worked with them before on an issue and had no problems.
I'm not an expert on how the Bitcoin network works but it amazes me that the currency in this transaction can just disappear. Wish me luck!

They wont be running til Monday is what they told me> it shutdown yesterday and if you placed an order they are processing those. If you placed an order today via another link then it will not be processing til Monday. Most likely all the related systems are down o if you have a wallet with option to use bitinstant and used it then it wont go through.

6 days later.... FINALLY got a response from Bitinstant support.
They say that the transaction went through according to what they see. Can someone please put this statement into lamen's terms for me?
"If your funds still haven't appeared in your wallet, make sure your btc wallet is completely synched to the blockchain as that can prevent your funds from appearing in the address."
My wallet is managed through Blockchain.info
Thanks in advance

Did you send both payments to the same wallet address or different ones?
Go into account settings and run an integrity check.
-
Same wallet address. Thanks for info on the integrity check. I didn't know that was an option.
Approximately how long does the integrity check take and will it notify when it completes as well if there were any issues?
-
I've noticed that the wallet always says "Status: DISCONNECTED" even when I press refresh.
Could this be related to the issue?
Also, I've ran the Integrity Check(I believe, there is no confirmation) with no change

Yep that is why you aren't getting coins. You have to connect to the network
"make sure your btc wallet is completely synched to the blockchain"
Next time you might want to try insawallet, it'll be a lot easier for you.

Thanks for the info.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can get this wallet connected to the network? Note : I made no changes to the wallet prior to the current issue.

It really shouldn't be that difficult. Your blockchain.info wallet is an online wallet so it should always be ready to connect during transfer. It says "disconnected" because there's nothing being transferred to that wallet. I'm really surprised you were able to have bitinstant send straight to your blockchain.info wallet since they stopped sending to individual wallets and only would transfer to exchanges about the time you made your transfers.
FYI, in the future you should reserve a unique wallet address for each sum you send.
Anyway, you should have two receipts ... one for each deposit you made to bitinstant including time and transaction number.
Why did you break it up into two separate deposits anyway?
So in your blockchain.info you should be able to see your transaction history.

I made 2 $490 cash to Bitcoin wallet addresses directly to my bitcoin wallet the day prior to the site "going down for maintenance". Cash to wallet limit was $500 per transaction and I needed to deposit $1000. When it was back up, the wallet option was no longer there.
One of the transactions went through perfectly fine which I can see was completed, but the other $490 did not. Both were done the same way, to the same address. All I have from BitInstant are EventID's and OrderID's for the transactions.
In hindsight, I can see how using two different wallet addresses would be beneficial.
Part of me feels that one of the Bitcoin transactions just simply did not get made by BitInstant. It's my understanding that BitInstant contacts ZipZap to verify that the funds have been deposited. When searching CashPayment.com(part of ZipZap) using my email address, it shows Paid on both.

Wow that is really weird.
So when you go into your blockchain.info wallet, what happens when you go to "My Transactions" then click on the wallet address that you sent the btc to? You should then see a flash window pop up with a clickable "hash 160" address. Click the link and you should be able to see the summary of the address on the left and transaction column on the right. Under those columns there should be a section titled "receive transactions" and a drop down menu on the right that allows you to filter for received transactions.
So that only shows the one transaction for $490?
Don't know if blockchain.info has any sort of support but if not you might want to call bitinstant and explain the situation to them.

I really appreciate everyone's input and help. It turns out that they never completed the transaction. Numerous unreturned phone calls/voicemails and 10+ emails finally got my issue enough attention to actually get looked into properly.
The BTC showed up in my wallet today. Rock.
