Title: Best BTC wallet?
Post by: gn0ssos on October 01, 2013, 02:47 pm
So I just noticed in my account settings on SR that there's a space for "Backup Bitcoin Address" so if SR ever shuts down like Atlantis, they'll have somewhere to send your BTC. I don't keep much in my account, but after what happened to Atlantis I'd still like to have a wallet. What are the best (free) ones, in your opinions? I like to use Tor even for my BTC transactions if at all possible. Thanks for any info.

i use the actual bitcoin client rather than an online wallet

clearweb: http://bitcoin.org/en/download

that way i'm not relying on a website to be up for me to access my coinage. there's a thread in security about setting up a bitcoin wallet on a tails persistent volume, i'll see if i can find it.

and that concludes 50 posts without spamming. thank fuck for that

NEVER use an online BTC Wallet, EVER. Best Desktop BTC Clients IMO are Bitcoin - Qt with Armory installed over the top for added security or a simpler one you may like is Multibit, which is also a Desktop Client but with a very user friendly interface. There are others but these are two of my favourites.
