OK: Forget the private key for a moment: you use *their*public key to send them a message, they use *your* public key to send you one...

You can pm me your public key, and I'll send you a message you can decrypt with your private key, but I need your public key to send it...you do that, and I"ll send you my public key, in the message, and then you can send me a message back....make sense? :)

Kinda. So I need to make my own private & public keys. How do I use the keys to encrypt & decrypt? Any links to detailed info on how to do all this?

Oh, ok, I thought you already had your keys...what you need to do, is download and install gpg4win...here: http://www.gpg4win.org/

get all that, and when you open it, get kleopatra or gpa, and then it'll ask u if you want to create a key,and you do, and it'll make you your private and public key...then u can start adding other people's public keys to it...

Tell you what, here's the tutorial everybody uses to do this...it's the very first thread in the security forums: http://dkn255hz262ypmii.onion/index.php?topic=131.0

Go there, and follow the instructions...once you get your public key, you can either post it here, and I'll send you a message you can decrypt, or you can pm it, either way...it's a bit of studying, and hassle, but we all had to do it....just download pgp then read the documentation....that's what I did...once you get it, you'll like it...it's pretty cool.
