Title: Movies you would have walked out on in the cinema
Post by: Adasel on June 04, 2012, 02:28 pm
Yeah thats right.
I just sat through Star Trek The motion picture.  I totally forgot how long and boring it was.  Sometimes when you start watching a movie you just feel "obligated" to finish it.
Anyone else had similar experiences?

On Channel 4? Haha I got about 20 minutes into that, and gave up.

Movies I have actually walked out on?

Pirates of the caribbean 4 was an absolute piece of shit. The first was decent, the second was novel, the third was a parody of itself, and the fourth was just Johnny Depp pretending to be drunk, and Kiera Knightly putting on a bitch face. Seen it all before a million times. I want to see some new shit when I go to the cinema, not just rehashing of concepts that they know will earn them money/establish their brand.

I fell asleep watching the 3 Musketeers (1993) - Never walked out of cinema (I'm too much of a cheapskate) - And I must say, I'm pretty hungover/binged out from a binge last night so Star Trek was just the ticket for me!

That's honestly why I pirate most of my shit. If it's a good movie I won't hesitate to go see it again, but shit if I spent the money to see all the shitty movies I've downloaded in just the past 5 years I would be insanely pissed off.

The Dictator was the last movie I couldn't even finish watching, problem was I knew it would be a piece of shit but the trailer looked somewhat funny. Battleship I finished but that was only because I was too high to bother finding something else, if I was at the theater I probably would have left and hung out at the arcade playing Tekken or something more entertaining til it was over. Abraham Lincoln: More Vampire Shit looks like one I would probably walk out of too, that movie makes me think they've completely run out of ideas.

Last film I gave up on was - 'The Mechanic' with Jason Statham.

@Kappucino
The fact that i was sitting at home and drinking probably helped me get through Star Trek.  But yeah i can totally understand why you only watched 20 mins or so.

Also yes, the fourth POTC movie was utterly shite.  I guess i am at the age now where, if i start watching something, i have to finish it.  However believe it or not, they left the fourth pirates movie open FOR ANOTHER SEQUEL!!!

I wont give any spoilers away unless your interested, but my gut feelings tell me you lost all interest lol.

Really? I liked that movie, a lot actually. It's on my list of great "The <name>" hitmen movies:

The Professional
The Jackal
The American
The Mechanic

I usually like mindless violence but was sorely disappointed.....but just so Im right,  'The mechanic' I saw had Paddy Considine and Kiefer's da in it (not sure if its Donald Sutherland or not).   Was it a remake of the Charles Bronson film?

When you say 'The professional', you mean Leon - with Jean Reno and natalie Portman?  If it is good call.  The Jackal - Richard gere and Bruce Willis?  Never heard of 'The American', will have to have a look.  Possibly 'The Replacement Killers' added to this list?

Well you really need to see the first 2 because the forceps get wider as the trilogy progresses. It'd be like watching Lord of the Rings - The Return of the King without seeing the first two.

I like the idea of the forceps getting wider, I always enjoy when filmmakers try to expand on their original idea in sequels  :)

Yea that's the one, it was one of the few movies I actually liked the remake more than the original, and I'm not a big Jason Statham fan - well I was, but not so much anymore as I loved Lock Stock & 2 Smoking Barrels and Snatch, but since then he's done the Transporters and Crank and I didn't like either, first Transporter was ok I guess. Crank would be one I wouldn't have walked out on but I would be disappointed that I spent money on popcorn to sit through it, let alone the tickets.

And yea The Professional was Leon, great movie. The Jackal is my favorite Bruce Willis movie, and The American is Bruce Willis. For much of the movie it's pretty slow going but lends itself to being more realistic that way as well. I haven't seen The Replacement Killers, I'll check it out.

Jase seems to be the goto guy now in Hollywood for action flicks, always seems to be something on that he's in.  Lock, Stock & Snatch both great shows....what did you think of 'Revolver'?  To be honest Im still trying to figure out what the ending was about.  Ive heard Crank 2 is absolute rubbish, liked the first but seriously, when a film ends with someone falling to their death from a helicopter how can they get a sequel out of that?  Like the transporters but ever since Leon I'll watch anything that has Luc besson associated with it, although he is hit and miss (he's responsible for the original flick that Craxy taxi - Jimmy Fallon and Queen latifah in it, was made from).

Replacement Killers has Chow Yun Fat in it (love his movies), also Michael Rooker, Danny Trejo (great in anything) and the fella that played the mental one in Inglorious basterds.

Would the action genre be your fav?

Not at all actually, I pretty much watch all movies and action movies are pretty low down on my list if they don't have a proper story to go along with it. Normally Drama and Thrillers are my favorites, love a good comedy of course but there's a lot of shitty ones that bring that genre down a few pegs, maybe 1/10 comedies I actually like.

I'm also HORRIBLE with actors names, and quotes, because I only watch a movie once. I might watch it again a year+ later when I have somewhat forgotten what happened, otherwise I've never seen the point in how my friends watch The Hangover, or any other movie, 30 times and still find it entertaining let alone funny.

I'd rather watch a bad movie I've never seen than a good one I've just watched. Which is why I've seen more movies than most people, and found some real less popular gems along the way, but can't quote them.

I am so glad that I pirated "the dictator" and "the avengers". If I had seen that crap in theaters, I would have demanded my money back along with an additional 50% for punitive damages.

I wasn't expecting much from the avengers but they could of at least used the right hulk. But cohen really let me down with the dictator. I guess he just is good with a script. He should stick to making his movies jackass style, but he probably would have ended up in Guantanamo Bay if he tried making the dictator like that.

AMEN. I mentioned in an above post that I couldn't even watch half of the Dictator. I also thought the Avengers was bad, but I'm also not a comic book fan at all and so I generally don't love the comic book movies as much as everyone else. I know someone will hate me for it, but I didn't like Transformers either and I loved the show as a kid. Story was just bland, acting was sub par, and I seem to be the only one that didn't like the movie let alone love it and beg for every crumb of trailer footage to the sequel.

Main reason I asked about the action genre is because theres a Hong Kong movie with Chow Yun Fat in it -'The Killers', theres a chinese name for it also but would need to google it.  Anyway, havent been able to find it through BitComet, Vuze,  etc etc.

But like you Ive a pretty eclectic taste.  Have to agree about comedies, only really the odd one makes me laugh, I didnt rate either 'The hangover' or the other one shortly after 'Due Date'.  It really is disappointing when you settle down to watch a comedy when in need of a laugh and you dont laugh.  I probably get more laughs from 'An American Werewolf in London' than the 2 I mentioned.  Thrillers and dramas I like, but with the advent of CGI and the like feel like characters and storyline are sacrificed for special effects, only film I can think of in last few years that I'd have up there would be 'The Departed'. Horrors the same - despite all the computer effects they can do they still havent managed to come up with anyone/thing as scary as what Michael Myers was first time around.

I'm with you there, I'm also one of the few that didn't think The Hangover was that great, had it's moments but didn't find it the 'OMG BEST MOVIE EVARR! LETS PAY TO WATCH IT AGAINNN!' movie that everyone made it out to be. I thought Hall Pass was quite a bit funnier, I even thought The Change Up was better.

That brings up another point though, I went into The Change Up expecting it to be mediocre, I mean 2 people switch bodies? What an original concept that's only been done 48 times before! But I was surprised and thought it was very funny. On the other hand The Hangover, all I heard was how amazing this movie was so I went into it expecting it to be just that, and it fell short for me. Hangover 2 I thought was awful, but they featured that little Asian guy a lot in it, who I find really annoying. And you're right, The Departed is a great movie.

Horrors, I've never really been a fan of, I think the last horror I saw that I actually liked was The Ring.

I was with 5 of my buddies and it was a slow month for decent movies so we went to see Macgruber and it was just absolutely terrible, I had to walk out halfway through. This was before I started smoking weed, because I'm sure being absolutely baked and watching that movie would probably be hilarious but sober I just could not enjoy it.

Ewww yea I had mentally blocked out that movie. Land of the Lost is another one, I thought 'Will Ferrell and Danny McBride? Im gonna go to Rotten Tomatoes and see what one between 'Hall Pass' and 'The Change Up' gets the higher score and thats my next one.  Heard of 'Hall Pass' but not 'Change Up'..........those body swap comedies must be very demanding, ever since the 'Freaky Friday' remake with LiLo she's stayed in character, only thing is her character is now a crystal meth addict  :D

care to share a few of your unknown gems with me?

Theres a few Aussie flicks Ive saw over the years that could possibly fall into this category:-

Bad taste - peter jackson's low budget sci fi/comedy debut
Black Sheep - comedy horror
Animal Kingdom - crime drama/thriller

All the spin-offs from SNL seem to bomb.  Hadnt saw the character in SNL but was tempted because of Will Forte, think hes great as paul in 30 Rock, and imagined it to be a MacGyver spoof,  but when I read reviews decided not to bother.

Definitely, there are just certain movies that should be watched while tripping. Like The Tree of Life, the first 30 mins is basically a shroom trip. Or 2001: A Space Odyssey, goddamn is that movie stale as fuck if you watch it sober. But on acid, mmmm mmmm trippy as fuck.

I'd probably say Hall Pass over Change Up, both worth watching though. "Black Sheep - comedy horror" isn't that the one with Chris Farley? How would that be a horror? Lol.

Haven't heard of Bad Taste, Peter Jackson low budget sounds like an oxymoron lol.

As for unknown gems, that's a little difficult since many end up becoming cult classics, so not unknown anymore. Here's some that I can think of that were great movies despite not doing much in the box office (iirc), obviously people have seen a lot of these but my guess would be they liked it if they've seen it.

The Killer Inside Me (Casey Affleck whose amazing in it, and Kate Hudson and Jessica Alba who are hot as always)
One Hour Photo (Robin Williams plays a psycho, not a fan of his comedy but this movie proved to me he can actually act)
Primer
Boiler Room
Gattaca (All around superb acting)
Donnie Darko (One of my all time favs)
Mallrats (Classic, if you like it then check out Clerks too)
Rounders (If you like poker, this movies awesome)
Green Street Hooligans (Yea it's Frodo, but he gets the shit kicked out of him, if you like it then also check out Football Factory)
A Scanner Darkly (Watch a clip of it at least)

Now if you're talking independent films, I can list my favorites for that too but I find with independents people generally love them or hate them, the above list I would imagine 90% of the people who see them would like them.

This will be funny as hell!' but it wasn't ... recently I was tripping shrooms and watched it again and was convinced that movie was made for tripping, because it sure wasn't enjoyable any other way.

Totally forgot about 2001: A Space Odyssey and completely agree with you. I always heard about how great this movie was etc so I broke down and watched it one time and sat there for an hour waiting for the movie to start, feeling like I was watching all the fluff they cut out during editing of the actual movie. Might be enjoyable tripping, will have to remember that one.

The 'Black Sheep' Im thinking of doesnt have Farley in it.  This one is about mutant killer sheep.

Rounders, Donnie Darko (and Donnie brasko come to think of it) and The Killer Inside Me are on the list already, just aint got round to watching them yet.  Theres a few on the list Ive never heard of - primer and boiler room that I'll have to check out, thanks. One Hour Photo Ive never managed to see all the way through, but the bits Ive saw are good.  Theres another straight role Ive saw him do - think its 'Insomnia' with Al Pacino.  Mallrats and Clerks I checked out recently, both very funny, also liked Dogma from him.  Green Street is one of the best footy ones going, Im near certain Ive mentioned the others on another thread......just a little hard to take Frodo playing a football hooligan, doesnt even look like he should be allowed out after dark.

*MODIFIED*  rotten tomatoes - hall pass 34% change up 25% looks like its Hall Pass

Boiler Room is probably more well known, it had big names in it, starred Giovanni Ribisi (had to IMDB that one) and Vin Diesel ... not a Vin fan at all, but the movies still good. Basically Giovanni plays a guy that used to have casino games run in his house for college students but it goes bad and he gets a job at a cutthroat brokering agency that doesn't a lot of shady shit.

Primer is pretty slow paced but an excellent movie and storyline, I won't even tell you what it's about because it would ruin it. It's one of those movies that puts you in the dark and then builds the pieces from there to fill you in.

If your girl is anything like mine, do not watch Primer with her or you'll end up with, "What is that? What are they doing?" - Then I gotta be the asshole and tell her to please shut the fuck up, I'm watching the exact same movie as you, I don't have a damn script in front of me, they aren't telling you yet for a reason.

Dont like Ribissi.  I mean who in their right mind would leave Scarlett Johannsen alone all day in a hotel room (Lost in Translation)  :D  Sounds a little bit like One for the money - Al pacino, Matthew mcConnaughey?

With primer is there anything in it I could even remotely dress up to sell it as a chick flick?  Mind you, its my turn - I had to endure Bridesmaids last week.

Incidentally, I hope for your sake your girl is nothing like mine  :-\

I don't really like Ribissi that much either, he's pretty stale, but he was good in Boiler Room. I've never seen One for the Money so can't compare, Boiler Room would sort of be similar to Wall Street 2 I suppose?

Primer is not a chick flick at all, well not a guy flick either, sort of a down to earth drama with a tinge of sci fi? Hard to categorize that movie, computer enthusiasts and other techies are probably the main audience, not that anyone else wouldn't enjoy it.

Next time it's her turn to pick, try to get her to choose Midnight in Paris, I thought that was a great film, my favorite Woody Allen movie now.

I also downloaded Area 407 and all I got to say is: please don't make the same mistake.
it's like blair witch, meets one of those cheesy ed wood style of films (you know, the kind where you can see the zipper on the monsters suit, etc...). this is one of those films that, if i got a notice from my ISP for downloading it, I would a demand a refund for my wasted bandwidth. it is seriously that bad.

As far as underground trippy movies goes. check out "dark side of the rainbow". hands down the best movie to get twisted with.

I'm actually surprised someone mentioned Dark City.
I that it was a very original picture, although Keifer Sutherlands pathetic facial twitching did get on my nerves.
That guy is exactly the same in everything hes in.  How the fuck does he get paid so much money.

Anyways, someone mentioned Boiler Room.  That is just one of those little gems that i literally couldnt get off my seat from start to finish.  Even Vin Diesel was worth watching!
Are there any actors out there that really wind people up??
Nicholas Cage is at the top of my current list.

Nicholas Cage is on the top of mine too. He's such a horrible actor but he chooses very good scripts that make the movies watchable, you just wish someone else was cast in his place, like Face Off, The Rock or Con Air. All good movies but would have been stellar with someone else in it, and who the hell decided it was a good idea in Con Air to give an accent to a guy who can't act without one? That one where he's a flaming skeleton on a motorcycle would be an exception ... who the fuck in their right mind decided that would be a good idea for a movie? Maybe if this was 1983 starring Charles Bronson ... maybe.

The opposite would be Leonardo DiCaprio, who is a great actor but chooses some real shitty scripts.

Rob Schneider is another one I can't stand, gets on my nerves more than any other actor I can think of.

I know I'll be in the minority on this one, but the other one that gets on my nerves is the kid from Transformers / Wall Street 2, Shia Lebouf or whatever. Doesn't help that I don't like the Transformers movies, but then he ruined Wall Street 2 for me, being a huge fan of the original.

I mentioned before I love Boiler Room, but Vin Diesel would also be on my list of piss poor actors that usually ruin movies with his presence, Boiler Room being the exception.

John Travolta and Ashton Kutcher, I like them both and like some of their movies but neither could act their way out of a paper bag. If you haven't seen Ashton Kutcher in Spread, you should definitely see it. Great movie.

Now I'm going out on a limb here, but DENZEL WASHINGTON. I know, blasphemy, but while I used to love Denzel, ever since Training Day he's been playing the same damn character in every movie since.

Totally agree with you mate.
Didnt Denzel get nominated, or maybe even win an oscar or something for Training Day??
Other than that yeah, he is exactly the same in every movie.

I didnt find Ashton Kutcher too bad.  The first movie i saw him in was The Butterfly Effect.  I thought he was perfectly cast in this.
I'll have to catch that movie you mentioned though.

As for John Travolta, he is one lucky son of a bitch.  He got REAL lucky with Pulp Fiction.  Saved his career.  I actually sat through Battlefield Earth (yeah i know), just to see how bad it really was.  I wasnt let down lol.

Just thought of another actor who winds me up.  Harvey Kietel.  People say he is a character actor but id have to disagree.
I could be shooting in the wind here but does anyone else agree with me?.

Had to IMDB Harvey Keitel, knew the name but couldn't put a face to it. I liked Reservoir Dogs, Clockers, and of course Pulp Fiction but I really haven't seen many of his movies.

I agree about Butterfly Effect, I think the same can be said for Spread - it was a perfect role for him. He plays a guy who just sleeps around and becomes a sex toy for one rich woman after another to have a place to stay.

I have to say I'm not sure where DiCaprio picks bad scripts.  Unless you consider Basketball Diaries, Titanic, What's Eating Gilbert Grape, Blood Diamond, Romeo and Juliet, Departed,, Inception, etc. as bad scripts because I thought they were all great.

I kind of agree with the Cage comments although he doesn't rub me the wrong way as much as other people and I love The Rock even with him in it.  I do agree with Denzel but I think it became more of him being pigeon holed into being cast as that character from Training Day because he just did such a damn good job with it.

Shia LaBeouf I agree on totally, I just can't stand him and I think he ruins every movie he's in.

Maybe I'm alone on my opinion on that one.

Basketball Diaries I can respect as a movie, I didn't think it was as great as many made it out to be but that's just me. Titanic and Romeo and Juliet I can say I did not like at all, but he made so much money off Titanic it's not like I can fault him for taking the script.

Blood Diamond I thought was awful, and I'm not alone on that one, I don't know what the point of giving him a piss poor South African accent is but other than that he was good in it but the script was terrible.

Inception was more of a 'look at a the special effects we can do!' movie, which are all horrible, story was laughable at best. He was a good actor in it as always, but again in my opinion the script was weak.

Shutter Island was terrible, I don't know why he decided to do that one.

J Edgar is another script he should not have taken, boring movie and he's a horrible J. Edgar Hoover. The Aviator and Gangs of New York, both weak scripts and below average movies.

The Departed is a great movie all around, I'm really looking forward to The Great Gatsby, and Catch Me If You Can was good.

And on Nicolas Cage, I agree I like The Rock, Con Air and Face Off, but I would have probably loved them if he wasn't in them, he did play a decent bad guy in Face Off but he overdid it a lot with his over the top mannerisms they must have taught him in that acting class he took in Jr High.

Twilight for me. I only went to see the first one and in my defense it was with my cousin! Not my idea, but we ended up walking out. I've never seen acting as terrible in all my life... not only that but films that focus on 'love' in general are no goes for me. Why? Because a shit load of teenagers say shit like 'I love you and I can't imagine my life without you, I don't know where you've been all this time'. The movies actually convince them that they could be madly in love at that age.

Eww forgot about Twilight, luckily I never paid to see it, watched it when it came on HBO just out of curiosity and I agree with your assessment.

Unfortunately in my experience it holds true for woman of all ages, I feel most women need to get that first divorce out of their system before they snap into reality.

I thought the story for Basketball diaries and Inception were pretty good but may be over hyped.  Inception wasn't just about the special effects, it had a very intricate and original storyline I thought.  Aviator and J. Edgar I will give you though, they were pretty boring.  Catch Me If You Can was another one that was good, glad you mentioned that one.

Not really sure yet about The Great Gatsby.  I find it funny that when Entourage had Vince do The Great Gatsby I thought that it would make a boring movie, although it is a great book and now I find out they are making it and I still have the same concerns.  It could be another Aviator for DiCaprio...

I too have had the unfortunate experience of watching Twilight.  Wife read the books before the movies where mentioned, made me watch the first one when it came out.  I was just constantly ripping on it the whole time and she never made me watch the sequels because the acting, cinematography, direction was just so bad.

Films usually have an element of love and lot of times it is a fairly large focus in all films.  Try to think of films that don't have a focus on love in one way or another.  I think I can name one or two.  Last Action Hero being the only one I can think of off the top of my head.  I think your thinking of the romance genre and I try my best to steer clear of them as well but being one that lives with the opposite sex sometimes I am forced to endure them from time to time.

On another note related to Twilight, Stephanie Meyer who wrote them actually wrote an adult book called The Host which actually was pretty good if you ever get a chance to read it.

Forgot all about Vince doing that movie in Entourage! I wondered which came first now that you mentioned it, seems first mention of the movie was the director quoted in a Variety magazine article in 2008, Entourage episode aired mid 2009. I think Leonardo is a great actor, it's just his movies that let me down more than him, which is something I can't say I feel about any other actor, which is why I assume he just chooses bad scripts. I want The Great Gatsby to be good since I love the book, but there are people on IMDB forum already criticizing him being cast in that role. You could be right and it's another Aviator...

Dude, that's crazy!

Inception was fucking genius.

Also I need to say, Catch me if you can was another beast of a film featuring the D-Cap. The guy has had a slick as fuck career. I'd let him fuck my wife

Captain America, stopped watching it around halfway (at home of course) would definitely leave cinema if I watched it there.. hated it.

@Konomo

Have to agree there bro.  Captain America was pure fucking horrific movie making, at its worst.  It seemed like the whole movie was just set for the character to wake up in the 21st century to be a part of the avengers.  But what a way to go about it.
Lame acting, lame script and poor cinematography.

And meister, i am so surprised that you slated Inception dude.  Of course we all have our opinions here, but Christopher Nolan struck gold with his idea of shared dreaming.  His remake of the batman movies etc.  Okay if you want to nit pick it may no thave been the best choice to cast DiCaprio in the picture, but he did a hell of a job with what he had to work with.

I kinda feel sorry for DiCaprio.  People still have this image of him being every teenage girls lust fantasy in movies like Romeo and Juliet.  Surely, you cannot deny the guy has grown up, and his choice of movies has shown that.

I'm not denying anything, as I said I think he's a great actor and I loved The Departed and Catch Me If You Can, all I was pointing out is that for such a great actor that can cherry pick blockbuster after blockbuster, he picks some really weak movie scripts to pursue.

Inception I'll leave you with, I personally didn't like it, I think Leonardo was good in it but I thought they could have done a hell of a lot more with the story premise than they did, and I didn't like the choice of any of the supporting actors. That's just my taste.

But with movies like J Edgar, Aviator, Blood Diamond, Shutter Island, Gangs of New York, and Revolutionary Road, I'm just saying his acting talents are being wasted on movies like these.

Think this all began when I was saying I thought Nicolas Cage was a horrible actor that lands himself in good movies, where Leonardo is a great actor that lands himself in poor movies.

Yes let's get back on the topic of hating Nicholas Cage, lol.

Anyway, I'd add Jack and Jill and a bunch of the crap that Happy Madison productions is putting out recently.  There are a few in there that are gems but there's a ton of absolute garbage that I'd be pissed if I spent a dime on them.

YES! Nail on the head! I WISH Adam Sandler was the one that OD'd and Chris Farley was still around, I thought that movie where Adam Sandler plays a guy and a girl was a spoof trailer and he was actually doing something funny...but no, hes the fuckin white Tyler Perry.

And yea, Happy Madison Productions puts out some absolute garbage. Bucky Larson? Anyone seen that? Nick Swardson is another one...he was such a funny stand up comic, and had such a funny role on Reno 9-1-1, and now he's in bed with Adam Sandler and been in like 10 of his movies that were all shit.

Haha I think that may be a tad harsh.  I have heard he is the nicest guy in Hollywood.  Back in his heyday he put out some classics, Billy Madison, Happy Gilmore, The Waterboy.  It just seems that now they put out one mediocre movie, like Zohan, for every 5 or 6 pieces  of fluff garbage and every once in awhile they put out a hilarious one, like Grandma's Boy.  Kind of reminds me of what Will Ferrel has done.  I really really really hope Anchorman 2 is good or I'll personally go to his house and punch him in the balls for ruining that one for me.

Will Ferrell is more hit than miss at least, one of my favorite roles of his was the Rick Flair looking car dealership owner in Eastbound & Down, laughed my ass off at him in that, he was a producer on that show as well.

Happy Gilmore I can still watch and laugh at, but Waterboy and especially Billy Madison I used to really like as a teenager but a while back Billy Madison was on TV I guess I've outgrown it, I didn't think it was funny at all anymore.

But I don't think it's harsh in saying I'd rather Chris Farley to still be around than Adam Sandler after I had to sit through the piles of shit called 50 First Dates and You Don't Mess With The Zohan.

I can still literally make myself laugh by just remembering the Chris Farley SNL skit where he was a chippendale dancer with Patrick Swayze. Only skit I find funnier than that one is Canteen Boy with Alec Baldwin, which Adam Sandler almost ruined because he couldn't stop laughing, luckily Alec is a pro.

Haha Ferrel is hilarious in that role. I gotta catch up, I haven't watched season 3 yet since I switched over to showtime for Californication and now I'm back on HBO.  I love using cable providers by switching back and forth between movie packages as they run promotions (sign up for HBO and get 6 months of it for free) and then cancel it once the promo is over and get a different one.

It would be nice to have Farley back but I think what made him so funny was the drugs he was abusing.  A parallel I draw is like all great musicians only making good music when they are on hard drugs.  They die and become legends or sober up and make shitty music/movies.

Anyway, that skit with Farley is a classic how can you forget it?  His motivational speaker Matt Foley skit was also pretty damn funny.   I also liked Eddie Murphy's Mr. Robinsons neighborhood skit if you want to go back even further.

Lol I used to impersonate his Matt Foley character all the time in high school. IIRC Farrell doesn't make an appearance in EB&D again til maybe the last season? It's worth it though, he's at his southern plantation home and wearing a little ribbon bow tie thing and looks like KFC's Colonel Sanders lol.

Like you, I can't wait for Anchorman 2, Christina Applegate signed on as well. Talk about lucky, her role in the first one reinvigorated her career like nothing else could have.

I never walk out from cinema, because:
a.) I find that disrespectful
b.) I only see one or two movies in cinema a year, carefully selected big movies I think are worth seeing on big screen.

Moviegoers just annoy me too much with all the laughs in wrong places, talks and phone calls;| When I get old I will be one of those grumpy 'get of my lawn, you punk' type of geezers;D

How is it disrespectful to walk out???
Everyone everywhere has to put up with people moving about infront of them.  You have just paid you small fee to a giant blockbuster movie corporation, so you are more than entitled to walk out on it if you want to.
After all, you are never going to see that hard earned money again.  Fuck sitting through a movie that bores you to tears.
Seriously, you wouldnt say that if you saw Alexander!!

By cut scenes do you mean the scenes without Colin Farrel?

If so I agree

I don't care what anyone says, but Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy sucked, I walked out. Also walked out on Snow White and the Huntsman the other day. The previews looked epic but it was so goddamn boring, a few friends and I walked out after we realized we'd been sleeping most of the time and we weren't even stoned.

I totally agree about HitchHickers Guide to the galaxy.
Only thing that got me interested was the lady interest when she wore those hot-pants! Oh yay.
Havent seen Snow White.
But people forget, if your going to translate a movie from a book, be ready from some slow moving crap.
This is where they fucked up on Lord Of The Rings.  Again, they showed all the action in a 10 min preview, then the audience had to sit (or walk out on) a full 2 hours and 30 mins piece of mind numbing SHITE!.

BTW, is the first Ghost Rider any good?  Tempted to see it even though its Nick Cage!
