This may be a stupid question but I received a package of mdma from the Netherlands and there was a hole punched through the top so that you could see into it. The mdma wasn't visible but I'm wondering if this is a search procedure or just a mail sorting thing. Thanks.

I've heard of some customs officers using a needle to poke through envelopes to check for suspicious odors so it could be a customs check..especially if it's from Netherlands = known drug source location?
Not too sure what to make of it, hopefully someone with more experience chimes in..

I was curious.....was it NL > US?

customs does that and then runs the dog around so it can small any contraband easier.

Must have been a handicapped dog as no envelope is going to stop a sniffer from picking up drugs......
-
If its triple vac sealed the dog wont smell shit.
-
they do it so they can stick a mini camera in there and snoop around looking for drugs. if they see a powder in there or some sticky buds they break it open and steal that shit. What r u gonna do if you find a hole in your envelopes? nothing you paranoid fucker, it's just a hole they say, what have you got to hide? fuck the police

That happened to me for a package from Poland, but I kinda presumed that they had bought the envelope that way...

- here is another one :-

- perhaps the buyers could msg each other and w/o exchanging too much information perhaps there is a common denominator here?!
let us know how things go?
- an additional possibility is the punched hole is made early on, air circulates as the package / envelope is jostled about....at a later stage there's
a pick 'n choose which to inspect further, at which point an air sample can be take or for the sniffer dog to do a whole row of "suspect envelopes"
:o ;)
