It's not blue or green either. I don't know if I am using the correct SR URL. I've heard of fakes out there so that's why I'm asking here.

Guess I should have elaborated a bit more.
My questions are:
Why is it not https?
Am I safe to browse SR anon?
Thanks!

https is short for Hyper-Text Transfer Protocol Secured. By default all .onion site have the secured part built into it with tor. Trying to use ssl on a .onion site would make it less secure.

there is no need for https, because it is a .onion url.
Traffic from and to .onion websites stays within the tor network, and is therefore already very strongly encrypted.
The url is silkroadvb5piz3r.onion
So as long as that URL is in your address bar, you are safe.

Report back when it is HTTPS, so then I can freak out...
Anyway HTTPS is a weak form of security, especially if someone already has access to your network, such as if you're using wifi at home or in a public wifi zone.
