Title: To all my smart investors, this is a question for your expertise!
Post by: Caparino on May 05, 2012, 06:19 am
As we all know, world currency is about to plunge in the upcoming years starting somewhere around the end of this year. I'm not feeding into any 2012 apocalypse bullshit. I'm just politically and historically aware enough to realize that soon after the 2012 U.S. Presidential elections, WW3 will be upon us; if you've studied historical proceedings enough it's all but apparent. As my economically aware fellows might've realized, gold, silver, and other precious metals will carry true value in the near future.

So I ask you, not only for me but for others who might be wondering: What's the best place to both buy and store gold?

Direct from a mine in South Africa, they are gold-rich and shit-poor compared to the gold-rich Latin states and they are more corrupt so you will be able to buy get a better deal. You couldn't just go there and buy it though, bit more complex that that.

Well once martial law happens, and the UN/NATO forces go door to door removing the guns from the cold dead hands of peaceful citizens, I would assume they would want your gold too.  I guess put it in something and bury it, same with guns if you have any.  There have been quite a few scams lately in the gold market, because the price is so fucking high, mainly tungsten cores and things - you need to be very careful.  I've thought about investing in some bitcoin mining hardware(enormous returns at the moment), but bitcoins are going to crash along with the road.  SR supports 90% of the bitcoin market.

Just the man I was hoping would answer  8) How should I go about it? Is there a trusted website to conduct this business on? If not, and if it's complex, I can deal with complexities. What do, good sir?

Have you looked into bitcoin mining hardware?  Pays for itself + 20-50% in the first year. Not only that, but you get clean coins with no paper trail linking to you, unless you mine the block yourself, and you'd need a whole lot of hardware for that.

Ok this is what you wana do if you want to buy a decent amount.

1. You set up a holding company outside your home country.

2. You go DIRECTLY to either a mine or a refinery (the best ones are mines with refineries attached) and buy the gold bullion direct from them but make sure it is stamped and certified so you can resell.

3. You sit on the gold until the value increases to a point where you want to sell it. You should monitor the gold-value fluctuations via the commodity market and basically either bet on the value of the gold appreciating/depreciating in value or simply sell it when the value is high or demand increases rapidly.

4. You sell it via your holding company.

HOWEVER with all this being said I personally would not go for gold, I would go for either Platinum or diamonds. If you really want to make top-bollock cheddar then Platinum and diamonds is the way to go, it's also a good idea to look into rubies and emeralds.

My 2 cents. :)

All good in the hood man. :) You will need to have some cash behind you to get into it but that's not really the issue. The issue is going to SA and finding a decent supplier. SA is mineral rich though so once you dig you will find gold so-to-speak lol.

that corporate puppet? He couldn't move an inch without his manipulators tugging on the strings. Overpopulation, steady economic decline, a country in the middle east saying "Fuck your world police bullshit, we're persian and we're gonna fuck with nukes if we want to", aaand alliances being built to boot. IMO WW3 is a safe bet and much needed present day. Either that, or a new virus... or maybe both, who knows!

The sense of safety gold is going to provide you will only be false. If you've got the money to invest in gold, perhaps you should consider land as an equal if not more valuable item in times of civil unrest.

My ideal location would be at least 50 to 200 miles from the nearest town, at least 100acres.
The structure would be nestled deep into dense forest with only one main road.
There would only be one direct access road to the structure, with a myriad of arterial roads leading to nowhere and many seeming to appear to nowhere but leading to access roads away from the structure.
The main access road would be lined with a hidden wireless sensor network complete with audio and video surveillance. And a big ass gate.

Inside the structure would be as much food, water, medicine and weaponry as I could afford.
There would be a reverse osmosis water cleaner (and a backup sitting in a box)
A satellite structure would house a generator, a backup, and as much ammunition and fuel as I could afford.

Then there's a million ways you can go from there

Having the above vs having $100,000+ worth of gold... the choice would be clear to me

What we do know, is that history repeats itself.

Im sure ww3 will happen one day, if it isn't already happening.  Alas I do not believe it will be the end of the world for America anytime in the next 100 years.
