i have had a few buyers who i have had to lend 1bTC because the BTC has flutuated and they no longer have enough to buy the item until the get more BTC.
It would be good if they could still put forward a purchase request for the item with the amount they have, & it would be up to the seller if they wish to accept that amount.
most likely it would stop the buyer being effected by any further fluctuations while waiting to find another 1BTC, presuming the seller accepts their lower offer.

Defianately something needed. At least something to lock the item so it dont get grabbed, maybe a certain percentage in pennys off bitcoins. Brainstorm
Its real annoying to lose cuz your bitcoins fluxed and the last of an item sold. happens to me a few.

::) Get your btc together and step up. You gotta pay to play. These ain't free. You lost out on your favorite item b/c you are broke and someone else in not. First come, first served. Buy a lot and do not get caught short. I will not "hold" anything for anyone. Show up and get it while the getting good. You wanna lock an item in, trade for it.
Yes, SR taxes and sometimes for various reasons buyers lose fractions of btc. Nature of the beast

That's a good idea. I was just about to place an order and I realized there was a shipping fee. I'm about 1 BTC short. :-\

Coming up a bit short because of currency fluctuations at the last minute is nothing new and is not unique to BTC or to SR. It is only new to clueless Americans who have no concept of doing trade across borders with different currencies. For the rest of the world, currency fluctuations against USD are part of life. The solution is to get a clue.

Might I say dear fellow that you come off as a very angry man who has nothing to offer but hostility and insults rather than solutions.
Therefore I suggest you take an enema, 2 aspirin and try again in the morning.
Have a great day.
Love,
A clued in American. :D

^^LOL!!! Agree, very much so..Anyhow.
Ebay has this awesome add-on feature called "Best Offer." Not necessarily because you are short a BTC or 2, but cuz maybe the seller would accept? Just an idea..

I say only have the hold option for larger orders. I don't want to miss a deal because someones holding up the line with what is basically a lay away.
-
Just implement give a penny+take a penny system. The tray will be filled with rounded up transactions to the full dollar amount. Take a penny would only be available for people having completed at least 2 transactions with a total value of 20$ or above. Also, holding 1 day for transactions can be good but if the buyer craps out on his promise he will have to give 5% of the value of the product to the seller before he can use his account again. While youre at it, implement a 5$ buyer account fee.

I don't think all vendors would agree on how to handle this issue so i think it is best dealt with between the buyer and seller on a case by case basis.

I would like to see that feature. "Best Offer" is subjective. Offer more than list price. That's the "best offer" I will accept. :D
I think the whole idea is crazy. Short? :o

LOL yeah I suppose, but what if you ARE willing to take that offer. Or that day you get on and you REALLY REALLY need your crack fix that day..hmm best offer in my inbox and I don't have to wait for a buy, for $200? SWEET! Could apply;P
