Title: Best tablet to use for SR / tor network?
Post by: WhenDovesCry on August 15, 2012, 05:37 pm
I need to get a cheap tablet to use for SR. Anyone had any experience? Do all Android devices support tor network? If so can I access SR?

The problem I'm running into when attempting to use an android device is Orweb is the only browser I can find to work with tor. I think there might be a way to make the standard browser work with tor but I haven't discovered it yet.

Anyway, with Orweb you can't copy and paste. Kind of a pain in the ass, but I'd be able to work around that if it weren't for my insistence on using PGP...

I personally use the Samsung Galaxy 2 tablet. It's relatively cheap as far as tablets go. Around here it's, with tax, around $260.00. I'm not sure if its Orweb/Orbot or the tablet, but loading time is blazing fast. Average 5 seconds for loading.

Yeah. Loading time is extremely fast when using my tablet opposed to my laptop, which takes forever. That has been a mystery to me. Any explanations to why is that will be appreciated. But to the question If op i think all tablets support in a way or another the tor network.

any device (correct if wrong) can view SR. shit, i opened it on my cheap android phone! you just put ".to" after the "onion" in URL and bingo! just no security. so if u wanna browse etc u cud do it that way. but its still somewhat of a small risk so caution caution caution!
