Title: Connecting despite the DOS attack
Post by: euphoros on April 29, 2013, 10:36 pm
Just a tip, I found that adding these lines to my torrc allowed me to eventually connect to Silk Road:

Code: [Select]
SocksTimeout 1800
LearnCircuitBuildTimeout 0
CircuitBuildTimeout 1800

This causes tor to spend longer (1800 seconds = half hour) trying to make the connection. However it took about 15 minutes just to view the front page so it's still unusable in practice.

Great info. I figured extending the time of a timeout may be something to try (Rather than bashing f5 over and over.) It's also probably more gentle on the server.
