Hey people !
I have a very good source for orignal Absinth ! It is an alcoholic drink with up to 55% of alcohol and 32 - 35 mg/Kg Thujone content. Absinth is restricted in some countries (USA) due to a psychedelic and halucinogenic effect of Thujone. It is actually legal in our country (Czech Republic) and available for a good price. Johny Depp likes to visit Czech Republic just so he can drink our Bairnsfather Bitter original Absinth drink.
Bairnsfather Bitter is strictly hand made with 100% natural ingredients using a deep underground water stream source.
You can achieve a "Louche efekt" by mixing with ice and ice cold water resulting in very nice and refreshing drink with lot of potential :D
So I wonder if anybody is interested in this drink and would like to buy some. I noticed there is actually no alcohol section on SR but Absinth drink really deserves a place here in this wonderful market. Let me know guys and I´ll be happy to answer any questions !
Take Care. Be Safe.

I'd love to try it. I've only had stuff here in the US, so it's not "real" Absinth.
-
very intersted. but how will you pass customs since absinthe is illegal in most of the countries..
-
Glad to hear You guys like it.
Shipping is actually a good question. I will work on stealth shipping as much as possible but It is actually pretty hard to hide a glass bottle in a box that is usually 0,5 or 1 Liter. I could also pour It to a different container but I guess It would look even more suspicious. Another thing is that it doesnt really say ABSINTH printed in large letters over the original container so USPS post officers or LE would have to be quite investigative to find out what the content really is. It just says Bairnsfather Bitter. Making It look like a present should also helped passing the customs just fine.
Im open to ideas so feel free to post one if You have any.

I will order a bottle if you get the wheels in motion on SR.

Maybe you could do what I did as a kid and ship in cleaned out miniature shampoo bottles. etc?
I'm eager to try some. Any idea when you'll be up and running?

Absinthe has been legal in the USA since 2007, it's freely available in the USA & easily imported. While there are some restrictions on labelling, etc I understand from those in the USA getting ahold of Absinthe isn't difficult. It is also legal in most European countries so shipping shouldn't be an issue.
Haven't tried 'Bairnsfather Bitter' but I've tried a number of other European Absinthes & I'd say don't buy it expecting a big psychedelic effect, you won't get it. That said good Absinthe is a lovely drink with a wide pallett of tastes & - depending on the brand - there can be a lot more to it than just a high alcohol content.
Have to say too that just checking out what some of the Absinthe sites say about 'Bairnsfather Bitter' - as this thread piqued my interest - reviews are quite mixed, though it may just be a matter of taste - everyone has their own taste in absinthe, try a few different absinthe's and make up your own mind:

saranottegan: I worry that It would be imposibble to clean the shampoo bottles off the residual smell that is always there ruining the drink. I think I will just go with the original packaging not expecting much hassle from customs. It still appears just like an alcoholic beverage at a first sight and should not be treated as "hardcore" drugs.
Oompaloompa: As far as I know it Is legal to own but not to sell. It is not controlled as a drug but as a food product by the FDA. It is illegal to sell alcoholic beverages that contain Thujone, which is the psychoactive ingredient in a true Absinth. I guess You can get some substitutes that tastes like Absinth but with no Thujone in It. You are right that You should not expect psychedelic effect like after having LSD or shrooms but It always feel different drinking Absinth with high Thujone content than just a regular shots. I actually like the mellow and smooth taste of Bairnsfather comparing to others but It is a matter of taste as you said.
Dont want to be too hard on advertising but here is a picture of Johny Depp enjoying the Bairnsfather Bitter in the place where its produced along. :D

I will see if there is little more people interested and after I figure out shipping method we can start rolling. Thinking of shipping, It will probably have to be signed on delivery since It cant just be slipped in the mailbox and You will actually need to pick it up at post office. So just want to inform you about that in advance since I know some people are not comfortable with signing on delivery.

You could always pour it into a different type of liquor bottle?
Or if you wanted to be real boss about it you could print up labels of another liquor brand to place over the current ones that are semi-easy for the buyer to peal off. That way they have the OG bottle.

OK cool guys ! Right now Im just figuring out what category to put the product in. I mailed the SR support what they think about making a separate Alcohol category because I found couple of alcohol related products here and there on SR so I think it deserves a separate category.
I can also provide wide variety of our local spirits made from lot kinds of fruits (pears, plums, apples, peaches, cherries etc..) . Very strong, tasty and traditional stuff here made with love by the people dedicating their life to It. Im definitely not planing on reselling some globally known producers because I dont support that stuff. So if You guys enjoy high quality alcohol made by pure fruit destilation this is something to look for. I will keep You updated !
James Hardens Beard: I was actually thinking about It. Replacing another liquor brand sticker is not a bad idea. I will figure this out and see what works the best. Thanks for the ideas.

I had to register to respond to this topic.
Absinthe is legal and freely available in the US since 2007, yes with wormwood, thujone and all. You can buy it at your local liquor store (if they stock it), it is also available freely online to buy and have shipped legally. Hell, my local bar even stocks the stuff and you can have it any time you wish.
That being said, the hallucinogenic properties are extremely overrated and each brand has its own level of thujone and has its own taste and look properties. Buy a small bottle of various brands and judge for yourself.
I just had to interject on the myths of an otherwise normal liquor.

As I've actually tried absinth outside of the US, I can attest to the differences of what you can buy here (USA) versus what's available overseas. So, I'm on board - let me know when you are vendor ready!
