To encrypt:
Put somebody's pgp key into a text file.
Import it into kleopatra via file>import
Make a new text file on your computer with a message in plain text.
File>Encrypt>Choose the text file>choose the profile to encrypt to

You probably can figure out decrypting from this.

copy and past the text into the send box.

so you would just copy and paste stuff from the text file, it should look like this

-----BEGIN PGP MESSAGE-----
Version: GnuPG v2.0.17 (MingW32)

letters

-----END PGP MESSAGE-----

Have you viewed the "GPG Step-by-Step Pictorial" guide [ dkn255hz262ypmii.onion/index.php?topic=131.0 ] pinned at the top of this sub-forum?  If not, take a look at the "Step 7) Encrypting Messages" section.  (Load each picture link referenced in the text.)

You'll be using GPA (Gnu Privacy Assistant) -- rather than Kleopatra -- but you may find the guide helpful since it's often easier to be shown than told.

Don't give up.  None of us were born knowing this stuff; we all had to learn at some point.  But we *did* learn.
