iron bag wtf.
lol elaborate please
-
I was wondering about this myself ever since I saw it on AmsterdamShop's main page, he says he ships in sealed iron bags, I looked when I got my order but unless they weave the iron in the plastic I didn't see or feel any, I'm guessing if it's such a thing it would be for the x-ray machines, but I doubt a thin piece of iron would work very well, maybe another reason?

Not iron as in the metal, he means bags which one can heat seal using a clothes iron. I dont know if yanks have a different word for it, it is a small household appliance which heats up and produces steam and is used to get creases out of clothes.

lol now I feel stupid.... :P semantics
As to bags that are sealed with an iron I wouldn't know

hahah..

if you google growshops.. you will find those iron bags.
i highly recommend that you dont use it for sending products . because you smell it anyway cause there is air in it.
it works if you travel with it but dont use it for shipping products . use a vacuum machine

You'd be best off taking a trip to Target, Wal-Mart, KMart, Best Buy, Bed Bath & Beyond, etc. and picking up a foodsaver vacuum sealer machine...also they sell extra additional rolls of plastic that you can cut to your desired length as well as pre-measured bags.
I recommend going to Target as you can get a foodsaver with included samples of plastic bags of different kinds and sizes and the machine itself for like 30 bucks USD, tops. The individual rolls of plastic and boxes of vacuum sealing plastic bags they sell are all under 10 bucks as well, and likely cheaper online.

huh 30 usd for a foodsaver in the us . damn i paid 120+ euros in the netherlands haha

lmfao, thats an awesome explanation...
had me in stitches...
Haha yea Shiznit Cache is a funny cunt, come into the talk shit thread in off topic. There is a UK mob that apparently sell smell proof and xray proof iron bags. I will try and find the link.

No I actually mean iron bags (like anti static bags computer parts come in) .... I always get thees bags from DR.Amsterdam when i order but could never find it online ... I have a lot of good quality Snow in my area that I'm thinking about reselling on the road. Free samples to all the silk road admins of course.

These are known as "mylar bags"

Check a computer supply store such as newegg or frys or tigerhardware...amazon probably has them too. If searching for mylar bags doesn't work, try going to your local computer geek store such as Frys or a non-chain location/small business store where the true techies shop and ask the clerk about non-static bags for internal hard disc drive storage.

+1
Mylar bags are what you are thinking of as iron bags; those silver bags that prevent oxidation of the bag's contents (not the bags that are sealable by an iron).
-
Are there any local UK shops that sell 'Mylar bags'? Please excuse the bump
-
what you are probably looking for is moisture barrier bags. Do a search on "moisture barrier" on these forums and you'll see some of my posts regarding them and where you might get them.
They are not the same as ESD bags or mylar. And you do not need to vacuum them (vacuuming really doesn't do much for bags unless they have pinholes or microcracks)
You can seal them with a food grade sealer but a 5mm or 10mm wide industrial sealer can be had on ebay for $100 and is a better option.
Good luck
