Title: All these people seeking loans...
Post by: soyyo1114873 on June 11, 2012, 11:51 pm
Tell me, do any of these borrowers ever pay back?

Some do, some don't. I've never not been paid back when I've given a loan... Normally I don't give them to people with less than 100 posts though, just a trust issue.

I've found most people pay back, be prepared to wait a lot longer than the "I swear it will be paid back in 7 days, exactly 7 days no longer".

Ehh, I think one person paid me back with interest (his idea) so that was lovely. If I'm feeling good though, I'll just hand out BTCs to anyone if I have leftovers.  :) -regardless of their post count.

I loaned some people small amounts and have asked the community for small loans back in return. One day in good faith I loaned 36 BTC to a person who appeared to be an upstanding member of the community, got 1 BTC back a week later and 6 BTC a few days after, then he disappeared off the face of SR. Lesson learned :p

That is a substantial sum to lend another person, particularly one which you most likely did not know other than through an online drug purchasing website. However, you are a far more generous person than am I.

My rule of thumb is as follows, if I were to lend, it would only be so much as to help the lendee make a purchase that he was close to being able to afford ( less than 1 or 2 btc) not enough to make a substantial purchase.

I probably wouldn't lend out any BTC, just not worth the risk. I'd sooner just donate 20 or 30 cents to someone who's a bit short

*edit*  CRISIS OVER!!!!  BTC-USD went up 1 penny.  I got my change :)  Package ordered, mission a-fucking-complished!!!!!!

LOL, can I have a bit nickle?  I'm literally 0.05 btc away from a 27.97 btc purchase!!

I tried a new tek on getting btc from cash and i assume it had a bit more hidden costs than advertised.

Although, this might be a sign that I should experiment with a new chemical instead of the usual...   but I'm all out of the usual... argh.  The questions, the questions...

I've been loaned the occasional bitcoin here and there and always paid my debt back as soon as I have the funds - knomo will back this it.

However - I loaned a coin to pickle87 and he seems to of not had the decency to pay me back, and ignoring my PM's.

Sorry, I was spare changing because I was short 25 us cents.  .05btc.  Then the exchange rate changed and the value of my btc increased to allow me to afford my item, so I edited my  post so nobody would give me a bit nickle.

It would suck to pay the fee to transfer  dollar into my SR wallet.

I also almost went and ordered some random shit that I haven't tried before since money burns a hole through my pocket hard.

i've loaned people 3 times now, think the least was about 0.36btc or something and the most was 1.30btc. 1 coin is like $5! i wouldn't lend that to people i met on the street, but i thought if i was ever short i'd like someone to repay the favour. never received anything back even after the 'i'll pay you back next week' promises.so those fuckers have ruined it for everyone else now - i won't loan any more.

TBH thinking about it, if i was short for an order i'd sooner transfer more cash over than be seen as a sponge on this site, anonymous or not - your username is still seen as a ponce

Same thing happened to me last week.  I was short like 50 cents for my first order of some fine molly.  I almost came on here begging for it, but just couldn't bring myself to do it.  Then in the morning, my coins went up just enough in value to place my order before Pf ran out!!
