Title: ItalianPilot's Return to SR
Post by: MerryGoByeBye on December 13, 2011, 05:42 pm
I posted about this in the H buyers thread, but in the interest of vigilance and caution, I want to draw a little more attention to this.  After weeks of inactivity, Italianpilot has started re-listing his bags again.  I know many people here have had mixed experiences with him.  His product was excellent, but the shipping speed was pretty rough.  Either way, there are some things that I feel compelled to point out before people start blindly ordering.

It's my understanding that several people had outstanding orders with him when he disappeared.  If that's the case, I'd like these people to post in this thread with their experiences on whether he ended up making good on the orders.  I realize that many of the orders were refunded via escrow, but I'm hoping at least a few are still holding out for their shipment, and I think it's very important that those people post here on whether the product arrives or not.

The reason I'm eyeballing his return so suspiciously stems from the fact that he just up and vanished for about a month.  Then, with little explanation, he shows back up as if nothing had happened, making a vague statement about how he didn't have access to a computer for a period of time.  Additionally, he's still selling his product at a very good price.  If it's anything near the quality of what he had before, why is it only ~$22?  One more thing, and certainly the last one that REALLY sketches me out, is that he now has a new public key and says that the old one won't work anymore.  My deepest concern about it is that he could have gotten picked up by LE and they could have taken over his SR account.  I really hope this is not the case.

I can imagine all sorts of scenarios from the benign to the LE-infested that could explain this, which is why I think it's crucial that we wait to see if anyone's order comes through before ordering (hopefully trusted members of the forum, not people with 1-5 posts.)

IP is a good guy and did come through with excellent product, and this is not meant to knock him at all, but we all need to be alert on this site and not get comfortable with ANY vendor, especially when such suspicious circumstances arise.  I want to make sure we're dealing with the "real" Italianpilot before placing any orders, don't you?

Again, if you have an outstanding order with IP, or if you're brave enough to place a test order, please post your results here.  You'll be helping a lot of us out (particularly me - I want to taste me some more of that fire!  ;) )

Good seller and has always come through for me in the past...except right before his little hiatus last month. I just wouldn't get into early finalizing too quick yet like people were doing and lost some money with him. Looks like he might be making a good comeback with practical prices this time...still a little slow though, coz he hasn't replied to my PMs from yesterday yet.

I agree, he's a good seller.  What I'm saying is that he's been away for a while, then all of the sudden we see his account back on with a new public key.  In other words, he can't prove it's really him posting the ads.  It could be a scammer or LE for all we know.

Trust me, I'm practically salivating over his listing, but can't bring myself to order until I see some reassurance that it's really IP making the listing.

How would his account be compromised? Someone would have to know his PW. Then again someone was able to steal my forum account after my SR account was phished,  and they had different passwords. :o

Luckily he only sells individual stamps, though. It's not like anyone caught purchasing can be charged with the intent to traffic. Possession charges, even if caught are totally minimal.

Again, I don't think the po's are gonna waste their time picking off the small time buyers. The DEA has to be in direct connection with the cyber crime association or w/e, then all domestic police stations and that's all throughout America, Canada and Europe or really anywhere in the world. They'd be way up past their eyeballs in paperwork.

I'd say the only thing they have or ever really ever will be interested in, is catching the admins and taking the site down.

I would agree with that assessment.

I like to keep up with the H Vendors Forum. Iv'e heard good, bad and ugly..I personally noy ever dealt w/ da dude. I can tell you that oddly enough my Grandmother is Italian and when I was having issue with an old, cheating girlfriend she said "Screw me once, shame on you. Screw me Twice shame on me." Still havnt figured out what that means exactly.

Otto, you're probably right.  I am likely getting concerned over nothing, but seeing as how taking down SR would be extremely difficult for them, my mind keeps returning to the possibility that the feds could always bust a few sellers, take over their accounts, stage transactions, then go after some buyers in an effort to scare people away.  Not an extremely effective method, but in lieu of actually finding the admins and shutting down the sites, they could always make examples of a few people.  Lots of paperwork, but still practical from their eyes in the grand scheme of things.

Just try to keep your minds open to the possibilities.  While it's not likely that my scenario would happen, something seems off here, and I'd rather err on the side of caution...

Did you read the other posts at all?  :-X Who is this post about (clue it's in the title), now if we talk about the person named in the title, getting his login info asked for by the cops who would said warrant be for? (clue the username is in the title). So lol rollling around but read the whole thing before joking on someone. It has nothing to do for SR being served a warrant.  :-X :-X :-X :-X :-X :-X :-X

Wasn't he just selling $10 stamps? (Memory, I have none.) The $22 price point isn't crazy amounts higher, just double street. Why not just PM him and point him to this thread so he can be asked the questions you need answers to so you'll be a re-assured buyer.

I wasn't saying the price was high - the opposite.  Seems cheap for a bag on SR.  PM sent.

Nah...feds can't steal identities. They may make up their own, ie in an undercover operation but I don't think they've ever been about or even legally aloud to take someones identity. It's too unjust for them anyways.

What would common sense tell you? If you still aren't sure don't worry about no amount of explanation will help. Have a peaceful day.

No offense, but you are funny.   ;)
No warrant can force IP to reveal login info - his account can not be compromised without his permission. Have a nice day.

Hello everyone. Many who are still owed their product just contact me directly. If you would like to post about it here, that's fine, but I wont be posting about my business with everyone here. I disappeared because of shit that I only shared with a few people. If you must know, message me.

I am selling cheap to help me become economically strong quickly. Believe me, I still make money at 22 bucks. As far as the speculation about me working with the feds or some form of pork; not happening, never would have happened, never will happen. Not even a thought. Period. I'm just trying to make a comeback and take care of old unfinished business. Its much cheaper for me to actually deliver the product owed other than return money. Yes, a few people got burned, temporarily, while I was away. Most got their money back simply through canceling the order as I had many that I never clicked "shipped". Anyways, as far as the new key is concerned, I had to reinstall gpg and even though I had my keys backed up, it treated my key as a someone else's key. It only backed up the public key, not the private one so I cant do crap with it. Hope I have explained to your satisfaction. Any more details, message me as I am not going to be in the forums. I trust that anyone happy will post good results or the same if I make a mistake, but I don't have time to answer all messages in a timely fashion AND maintain a presence here. Like before, if something pressing demanded my attention here, a trusted and close client of mine will let me know.  I need to get back to returning messages as people are a bit sensitive, understandably, if I don't return messages quickly. Thank you and good night.
