Title: New seller, dont know how to use PGP, is this a SCAM ???
Post by: fms on June 08, 2012, 08:17 pm
Hi,

I ordered some stuff by a new vendor on the armory, i sent my personnal information (PGP encrypted with the seller key).

1 houre later he cancelled order and told that he lost his key.

Okay no problem until here, i got my monney back BUT i lost 0.2 Btc. My question ; did the seller become this 0.2 Btc ? Can he scam people with the argument that he lost the key and each time he earns 0.2 ???

Or does the armory take a little amount in case of canceled order ?

Thanks you for answers, sorry for the bad english.

Yes, the Armory and SR take a percentage from each order, even if it's cancelled.  So those BTC didn't go to the seller, they went to the Armory.

Random English grammar tip: "did the seller become this 0.2 BTC?" should be worded as "did this 0.2 BTC become the seller's?"  When you say something like, "Those are the seller's BTC," or, "Those BTC are the seller's," it means that the BTC belong to that seller.  Sorry, you probably already know some of this, but I thought I'd be comprehensive.  Hope that helps!

;D I got to admit, I laughed haha!
And OP I think SR is an elaborate scam to get my 0.2 BTC on cancelled orders. Burn it to the ground I say!

We all feel this way when a seller cancels, and we, the buyers loose BTC through no fault of our own.
People even accused SR staff of fraud after the FE scams cause they made money off the scam too. :'(

I just wish they make a better review system for buyers.

I would form a union of buyers, and boycott SR, but here is a fact.
They are the only game in town.
Shouldn't be, but they are.

So settle down take your 1st, 2nd, and 3rd loss, and learn from it. ;)

Hhhhhh.A little off-topic but no man i think it's not that he reversed the sentence. He seems german to me and in german "bekommen" means "take". some german speakers mix "become" with "bekommen" thinking it means the same thing due to similarity or simply without noticing as many words are similar in both languages. he also said "I ordered some stuff by a new vendor" in english it's usually "from" that you'd use in this sentence instead of "by" but in german the right word will be "bei". this happens always between any 2 related languages.

I'm very satisfied to see myself finallly using my german (or at least trying to :-)) after all these months i've spent learning DEUTSCH!!
