This is gonna get ugly.
I just logged on and saw a .01 BTC coin listing for SR t-shirts....I had to click on it to see if someone HERE had actually thought of this brilliant idea....Anyways, I scroll down and see fucking meta tags? are you kidding me? that just pissed me off as a buyer/vendor. The idea in and of itself isn't what gets me, it's that they had tags like xaNax, weed, etc. What the fuck does that have to do with a t-shirt that's on some other site and is a horrible idea in the first place? Should anybody be paying you for that shirt, last thing, and most important one, why do I have to look at this shit when I'm ACTUALLY TRYING TO BUY XANAX, or actually trying to sell it?
Keywords should be in the sentences that describe a product. 'nuff said.
This isn't fucking youtube. to vendors doing this, I wont name drop. but lets keep it clean please? SR admin, it seems like a new trend and my belligerent rant above is not directed at you, but at the vendors who are "meta- tagging" the shit out of (usually) listings that aren't drugs like digital goods and this dumb-ass t-shirt reference item . It just comes across as desperate, ugly, cheap, and overall clusters items up in a way that makes it difficult for buyers to sort through their options, and eventually it will force vendors to have to put a bunch of b/s to keep up .
The whole idea of ACTUAL meta-data (which i know this isn't) is completely against what SR stands for. So really I hope people start seeing this and that at the very least its limited to say 5 keywords which can be added through a KEYWORD section. That t-shirt item is straight up spam, and its too bad because a legitimate item could be up on the front board that a vendor is actually putting his/her ass on the line for, and that a buyer actually WANTS/NEEDS.
thanks
