Here is a pretty simple method:

Goto: https://www.igolder.com/pgp/encryption/

Top box add the Vendor PGP (Include the -----BEGIN PGP PUBLIC KEY BLOCK----- & -----END PGP PUBLIC KEY BLOCK-----

Middle Box add your postal address

Click Encypt and it spits out the PGP you need to send to the vendor.

Some will argue this is not the safest method (being a web based service), but its the easiest way I know to generate a PGP key with little knowledge and will get the ball rolling for you

This is a horrible thing to suggest. Take the time to learn and use PGP properly folks.

There's plenty of guides, it's daunting at first but when you commit it takes less than 30 minutes to become fluent in it. GPG4WIN

GPG4USB - The wizard is so easy just follow it and I think you will get it.

(You can use from usb-stick so you won't have anything on your computer)

This is an iGolder alternative that does the encryption in Java, without sending any data to the website.  You can load the site, disconnect your internet connection if you're worried about it, encrypt, copy, exit the site and it'll still work:

http://www.hanewin.net/encrypt/PGcrypt.htm

As far as I understand it's just as secure as desktop encryption.

Hi everybody. I'm going to hijack this thread because there's people paying attention to it.

I've been learning how to use PGP from a linux/unix/whatever command prompt... thingy.. And I definitely still don't get it.

Do I encrypt the message then export it from the command prompt directly to the other persons command prompt?

Or do I have to copy and paste the encrypted file to an email or Instant message? How does it work?

And will someone talk to me through pgp so I can get the hang of it?
