Title: Honest Moneypak to BTC traders - Avoid the scams!
Post by: uniwiz on August 02, 2012, 12:29 am
Ok everybody list your honest vendor.
As far as I can tell there is only a few.
Also remember to trade on SR you must pay SR fees, so costs will be higher, not lower.
Anybody vendor not paying SR fees is scamming, so they can't sell BTC below , or at cost.

Reported Good Vendors;

Sugar Mama
Coinbox
Chronic Crew

I'll try to make a list with SR home pages.
My personal opinion, is to stay away from Moneypaks.
Bitinstant.com seems to cost the same, just as easy to trade.

Here another (thanks CF) ->https://www.aurumxchange.com/

MP's are good for when its outside of banking hours and you need that coin NOW.  Fees included, they are slightly more than bitinstant but if you wanna save time and money it's definitely a good way to go if you can find the right person.

Chronic Crew has changed out paks for me in the past, and it worked like a charm.  However, I agree with the OP that your chances of getting swindled are much, much larger using MP to btc than to use bitinstant. With bitinstant, everything you're doing is actually legit, non-black market stuff, and coins are untraceable once they leave mtgox.  However, the limits on trade and also the fact that sometimes you have to verify can be a pain in the ass.  If you use mtgox, don't access multiple accounts from the same IP.  I know someone who made a new account everytime they did a bitinstant transaction, and after a few they made him send in pics of all his personal documents before he could send coin out of mtgox.

isnt it much easyer to use coinapult with bitinstant then going  through mtgox? get-bitcoin works with bitinstant now (and trust cash) seems much simpler.

sorry for the grammar..typing fast.

ive used both sugar mama and BTC buddy. ive got both of them to exchange enough large multiple mp cards at one time that would tempt even people you would consider a friend. they have both delivered everytime with no complaints at all on my end. very important to do your research on your mp to coin vendors read their recent feedback, check their review thread, ask someone, read this thread etc. i think its cool this thread was started so people can look at this one like we do the good lsd vendor thread and the good bud review threads etc.

This was done in pretty much the same format you described.  http://dkn255hz262ypmii.onion/index.php?topic=26310.0    It has SR and clear net vendors, and each listing has a link to their profile, their feedback page, and methods of payment (MP, WU, etc.)..it is pretty well done, and was supposed to become a sticky...I don't know what happened though.  It was last updated like, july 1st? xoxo sickgirl

BTCMaster and bosshogg (a little slow) are my main guys. I've used BTC Buddy though, but he has high fees.

organicmeds215 is a scammer and took my $500 MP.

BTCmaster all the way. If he's online and selling bitcoins, I'll always go to him first.

after reading a related thread, i think some of these scammers are the same person over time.   I read up on "International" where messages were c/p'ed to the forums. The way he taunted and made fun of his victims was exactly the same thing I experienced with "Kezeneren" last year.

I actually did find who this person was. Stupid kid used the same name as his video game handle, and associated with his real name and location.  I know where he lives, where his mother lives, where his mother works, the city his sister lives in and where she works (all via facebook, there is even a video of him singing and playing a guitar, badly at that)

I know revealing people was forbidden last time I brought it up, but it seems like this guy just creates a new account every time his current one is suspended, he just goes and creates another one.

This guy is slick. He came through on a small order, and then fucked me on the big one. I imagine he does this with every profile he creates.   How much longer are we going to allow this prick to keep doing this?

oh, and just to make clear this is the guy.

as his facebook status one time, he posted "Anonymous cash tactics! ;)"

this was posted months after Boba's incident.

I'm very surprised to not see BTCpal on this list. There is a thread in the forum currently about someone claiming to have been ripped off by him but that thread seems kind of sketch.

He has been my go-to for a few MPs and it was always very smooth. Never even a hiccup. Great rate too.

I got scammed by Bosshogg; wouldn't add his name to this list. 6 days and counting since the MP was cashed, no communication...

I have used BTCBuddy with great success a few times, he is fast and trustworthy, but the fee's are a bit high. I just recently did an exchange with Chronic Crew for a decent amount of money, and I came away extremely impressed. Very very low rate, excellent communication on his end, and the whole transaction took less than 2 minutes. I would HIGHLY recommend Chronic Crew for all of your MP to BTC exchange needs. His is an honest broker/vendor.

Smartcoin exchanged a $346 MP for me no problem.  Just a little delay, but nothing too far over 24 hours.  He's legit.

Sugar Mama is the best, bar none. Do NOT deal with doublelift, at least until he gets his 'issues' sorted out. He has my $280 cashed along with several other peoples' $500+ MPs and has not communicated or given any BTC in return.

Sugar Mama - never fails always the most helpful out of any of them!! I'll stick with her.

BTCmaster - Had a first conversation with them after reading this thread. Kinda a DICK for no good reason. Abrasive at best. Will not ever use and can not recommend.

I can't find sugar momma, sugar mama, or anyone like that on SR. Can I get a confirmation on the spelling from someone who knows?

BTCpal is always good.

I've also worked with pakupaku.  Everything went perfect, had the coins in my account in about 5 minutes, but he seems to be MIA at the moment.

Sugarmama was my first transaction on SR, but she has a higher fee than the other two mentioned.

I ordered from free money and i got my bitcoins but I used an $84.00 moneypack and got 25 dollars back. Looked on his page and see 70% commision, he also canceled my order so i couldnt make a review i guess. People buying lower amounts beware youll get buttfucked. He also ignored my message apparently.

I had 2 prior MP to BTC conversions with Pakupaku and they were flawless, fast and cheap.  However my last transaction with him, just before his disappearance, my MP had been cashed, no money transferred into my account, no messages returned.  No one else has had complaints about him so I'm cautious to yell intentional scam but with no MP, no coins and no communication (heck he hasn't even been online) I don't know what else to think...

I have used BTC buddy since my beginning on SR. He has decent rate. %10 or less. Whenever he has been backed up or away or w/e I used BTC pal. He is about the same price and reliable. I used doublelift on BTC buddy's recommendation for a 500 pack and it went smooth. I dont know what to do now though cause it seems none of my previous people can be trusted (except buddy but he is on vacation and maybe pal but he is away too) Does anyone have a current moneypak to BTC vendor that can be trusted?

I got some coins tonight. who's in need??

still only 5% fee ($10min.) for moneypak. MP's are a pain-in-the-ass with their "crackdown" over out of area funding, low withdraw limits and the locking of any account that gets flagged.

5% won't last forever

I think CoinBox is my new goto guy. I used him for the first time today. He is great, low fees, good communication, and speedy. He took a little longer than he originally told me but he gave me extra coin to make up for it :) When I saw his rates I thought it was too good to be true but he has a good long standing rep and perfect feedback so I gave it a shot and im glad I did. A+++ here is his review thread: http://dkn255hz262ypmii.onion/index.php?topic=23767.0

Smartcoin did me right a couple days ago.  (I won't go with btc vendors who go into stealth mode--even 'old favorites').  I can't see feedback when they do that....I don't know why my favorites have slowed down so much...btc King seems to be missing, he's cool, but it's 'to the bank.'

So SmartCoin it is....

11/8 Edit: 2nd order, last night, over 24 hrs, no btc, and not answering msgs, and listings are down...so I'd avoid SmartCoin until he comes through on old orders or explains what's up.  With btc vendors, no communication is usually a bad sign, unless they've left a msg ahead of time...and this long without coming thru... :(

11/9 Edit: Well, he never did answer the message yesterday, but today order was canceled, and 'money returned' ...which, in this case, means he didn't use the moneypak numbers.   Still, rough couple of days, would have been solved by a short message...hell, maybe he couldn't get on SR...it was a bit tough...still, I managed to get on forums and on main site, so part of being a vendor is taking care of little details like letting people know if you aren't going to come through....

go to the green dot website, click transfer to paypal, login paypal then enter you moneypak info and click next, you should see your remaining balance and DONT confirm this is just to check your balance.

Yep, I wanna cosign the above ^^^ ... you can then see if your money is still there.  Mine was, but I still felt 'sketchy' about the way the whole thing went down: no communication at all, so I spend a couple days where I can't do shit, since I figured I'd 'comitted' to smartcoin...so I went ahead and put mine in Paypal, under my control again....right now I"m looking to bitcopia probably...or go thru all bitinstant crap...
