Hey,
I have a HTC one xl, and recently downloaded APG to handle pgp comms.
I have generated my own private and public keys, the issue is adding others public keys to my data base.. To import keys it says they have to be saved as .asc file type..
how do I do this on my phone?
Any help would be appreciated as I dont have a pc at the moment, and I'm trying to use the android for it all, for the time being...
Thank you in advance.
Windows pgp was much more straight forward... I thought.. ?!?

You'll need a simple notepad app (I use Jota) and obviously a file manager(I use ES file manager).
Copy the pgp key block of text to your clipboard. Open Jota and paste the key in a new document. Save the document with a name you can find shortly, it will probably save as .txt file. (Publickey.txt)
Now, using file manager change the name of document from .txt to .asc. Its as simple as that.
Now open APG>manage public keys>import key. Use the folder icon to browse to where you have left "publickey.asc" (it will likely be in Jota folder, but you can move it to APG folder if you like to keep things organised. Once imported you can delete this .asc file anyway). Import the key. It should now be added to your list of public keys.

In fact if you paste into Jota, you can actually save it as an .asc by using menu(three dots at top right)>file>save as... and naming it as publickey.asc there, also you can choose to save it in APG folder at this point, eliminating a couple of steps.

Is that the shiny aluminium one? They look cool. I want one!

thanks for your help. it sounds pretty darn easy, now that you explain it! haha
You can get the complete aluminium one if you buy the 'one', but I bought the 'one xl' which was a little cheaper.. its seamless white. really sexy phone, and spec wise its amazing for the price(and phones in general these days have crazy capabilities)....
I'm so happy I didn't waste my money on an iPoo. :)
thanks for your help.

Can you only email PGP messages to other android users or can I email messages to anyone on any PC/MAC etc?
