Title: Come on - We bought it AGAIN? Same week too.
Post by: KPGR on April 06, 2012, 01:39 pm
Interesting. Two hit and runs in the same week. First PaythePiper and now Toyotaman. Come on poeple. Will we ever learn or will this just be a trend till SR goes under? How fucking stupid can we be to have one seller have a Huge sale and the next Toyotaman is doing the same thing - and we fucking bought it?!

If we don't smarten the fuck up this will just keep on happening. And happening. And happening.

Someone will stay around be the best Vendor on the plant for 3 months, have a 2 for 1 sale or some big event for finalizing early and we'll all buy it. Then what we'll do is fight like cats and dogs cause we were dumb enough to finalize early.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. This isn't the first and it DEFINITELY won't be the last. Shit this is a drug game. That's all part of it. Thank God no weapons are involved but people rip people off millions of times a day for drugs. Why would Silk Road be any different.

I think we need to make finalizing early illegal like it is on Blackmarket Reloaded. My personal opinion.

I'm seriously considering a collections service for these scamming vendors. Any interest?

cant make it flat out ban to finalizing early. if someone dose it out of there own freewill (what many people do even after talking on messaging how i tell them they should never finalizing early they still do) just saying that part that it has to be a ban on the vendor making a rule about making someone finalizing early at all.

Agreed. That's how BMR does it so why can't we to help stop the flow of scammers?

I'm all for figuring out a way to stop vendors from requiring FE.  But its gotta go both ways, we as buyers have to just put our foots down and quit finalizing early, no matter how good the deal is.  I will absolutely never finalize early again, but it took me learning a $400 lesson to finally put my foot down.  We also need to be cautious and skeptical about everything.  Toyotaman selling thousands or Norco at around $4-5 a pill should have been a dead giveaway.  But sick people already suffering from withdrawals aren't thinking straight to begin with.  Hell, I wouldn't even consider myself an addict, just wanted to buy bulk when I saw a good deal and wasn't thinking straight either.  The whole 100% rating with over 200 transactions over a decent period of time overrided my common sense.  Never thought it would be a trusted vendor having one last fuck you before he left.

I think some sort of reporting system like yall mentioned might work.  If a vendor asks a buyer to FE we should be able to report them.  Maybe they would get a warning first then a ban.  I feel like buyers assume the bulk of the risk as it stands, so I would definitely like to see some more protection.  I placed a couple more orders, all in escrow, and if somehow they mess up and I get anything less than a 100% refund I'm done with this site for good.  It's just not worth it at that point.

Also, what is this blackmarket revolution site you are talking about?  Link?

One last point, I think someone needs to make a huge stickyied thread about all the recent happenings and thoroughly explain why FE is so bad, even if you are new.  There are plenty of vendors that are new buyer friendly that new buyers could use to build up a reputation.

Maybe we even need a new buyer friendly vendor list.  I think that would be really helpful.

BlackMarket Reloaded. It's like Silk Road but nobody buys there and honestly I don't even know why it's there. Link: 5onwnspjvuk7cwvk.onion - Check it out. Also half the Vendors realize its shit so they leave. Then you buy and your order sits there for like a week cause there are no Vendors to put your order through. I wouldn't use it unless Silk Road was dead and gone.

BOTTOM LINE, DON'T FINALIZE EARLY!!!!  I keep reading about people doing this. That's why there is an escrow service, USE IT for the love of GOD.  If a seller wants me to FE early, I simply tell them that is out of the question, and I order from someone else, no matter how good their prices are.  I was reading yesterday about a couple people who have been scammed multiple times, really?  They deserve to be scammed if they didn't learn their lesson the first time.  I've never been scammed out of my money on here because I have never not used the escrow service.  There is always going to be sellers scamming, but it is real easy to avoid being scammed out of your money.   If your new, go buy small orders in the digital goods section or very small orders from very reputable sellers to build your buyer rating.  Some reputable sellers will also ask you to FE for large bulk orders.  I don't care how much you trust them. DON'T!!!!!   I have seen it so many times.  They have been thinking about taking off, but waiting on that one large bulk order to come in. We should not have to read about people being scammed out of their money now days, yet I am sure I will hear about 5 or so times today.  It kills me.   Anybody that finalizes early, should have someone right there with them to slap the shit out of them, and ask them what were they thinking.

I will continue to finalize early for some of my vendors who request it. But I never do so with more money than I'm willing to lose, and I watch for signs they may be going rogue (sales, policy/product change, etc.)

I've been scammed once, and that's when I first started using SR and didn't know anything. Since then, my judgment and reasoning has been enough.

When conducting business with possible escrow, to each his own.

You kept using the phrase 'we', which puts me in the same category as those that trusted the scammers. I'm not so naive as to believe all that glitters is gold, but apparently some are.

Remember, if it's too good to be true than it probably is. Members need to stop taking these silly risks for their own safety and anonymity. People don't seem to realize what's at risk here.
