Title: Shadow Beings/People
Post by: Skinnyman on August 21, 2013, 11:40 pm
Anyone believe in shadow people ? Had any encounters or experiences and are they linked to incubus/succubus, sleep paralysis, Energy vampirism etc?

I know when consuming certain drugs these can open up the doorways and people can see crazy shit.

Any thoughts?

This is the first im hearing about "shadow beings", but I have something that might be similar.

I took 2 hits of acid then smoked 40mg of DMT during the peak of the trip. I didn't breakthrough with the DMT but as soon as I exhaled the smoke about 5 or 6 full sized silhouettes of people appeared in my room and began walking around. I sat down on my bed, blinking over and over to try and see if they were real but they wouldn't go away. All they did was walk around too, they didn't look at me or talk. After maybe 45 seconds the figures faded away and it changed to my window sills and walls moving a bit, but that was really it.

I swear to god though, I thought I was in a room with 7 fucking people. It was the coolest thing, I wasnt scared at all either. All I was thinking was "holy shit this is fucking awesome" the entire time 8)

I dont doubt that you in fact did see something supernatural when you toked the deemt. All my experience with the people from the shadow realm, is after a few day snorting ice. hehe.

The shadow people only visit me when I haven't slept for a day or two as Bruce says.

They're obviously just hallucinations.

not obviously. our eyes only see a limited range. not too hard to believe other things exist that we dont see, just like others sounds exist that we dont hear because they are out of the range. pretty arrogant to think humans with our very limited sense can see hear and smell everything thats real.

Your body is a transmitter/receiver/amplifier......go without sleep or introduce certain substances and you are in fact De-tuning, or if you like, Re-tuning yourself and as a result your picking up on frequencies that are always there but have remained hidden to you until that point. Even some foods or easy meditation is like turning the fine tune option. You find yourself a little more sensitive to light or noise ext. When you really go without sleep for a long time or take lots of drugs or meditate heavily you can tune in to a whole range of frequencies. Its a massive dial folks, have fun exploring, there is much more out there than FM/AM & SW/LW. Just remember to come back

Shadow people are just bullshit, unless someone sends me enough free drugs to "get there" and see them I refuse to believe in them but dmt elves, now I personally look like one of them so it could just be me peeping through your windows again !

I find shit like this extremely interesting, is there anywhere you can give me that has good info on it?

Is amphetamine psychosis/sleep deprivation the only ways to see these shadow creatures? If I was to go 1-2 days without sleep then start on meth to keep me up for 3+ days, how harmful is it for my body and is it permanent damage?

what you say is very true also when exploring the panormal ... channeling, oueja boards, tarot, etc...  and all these are actually easier without using any drugs but much easier when younger as your kinetic energy is much higher

(and my spelling sucks balls without checking the net for spelling..  i need a local client based spell checker so as not to spam clearnet to speak like a non-moron)

just to be clear.. not all visual hallucinations of 'shadow people' are indeed inhabitants of neighboring frequency bands.. they are just from sleep deprived temporary insanity.. good stuff though!! :)

I remember reading somewhere about a solution for fearing the mysterious shadow people (or any monster), if you get scared as shit (and your body is functional) - just look at them non-stop(preferably in the eyes) and start touching yourself...

And now seriously - this happens when i sleep on my back and don't move at all. even when you feel like you HAVE to move to be comfortable - stay in place, on your back.
that's when dreams and reality start mixing up - and I usually see a dark figure standing not far from me - while not being able to move. scary as hell. Last time i was trying to scream and move and my gf apparently noticed something as she woke me up completely before the dark figure can get to me.

This i believe is called 'sleep paralysis'. It is the first stage of slipping into a lucid dream stage.

sleep paralysis is scary I've had a few times. It happens more often when I've been using MDMA to much.
I've learned how to wake myself now though when it begins, wiggle toes or facial muscles. They seem to be the only muscles that I'm able to move in that state to wake me.
I've seen dark figures standing next me, doors appear right infront me, balls thrown at me lol. I don't believe in any of this ET/alien/ghost stuff but when it happens it's scary as shit.
Lucid dreaming on the other hand is fucking cool, only managed to do it twice.

Indeed gtz. Ive never achieved lucid dreaming, not intentionally any how. The sleep paralysis is def very scary. Typically when this happens to me, its after a meth binge and i usually jump out of it due to something i *thought* i saw or heard, hehe.

the only times I've managed to do it is where I tricked myself into thinking I had woken up, when in reality I hadn't. At the time I thought what was happening was real when it wasn't, it was just a dream. I had control over all my actions and what was happening in each dream. Very fun ! so difficult to explain properly though.

A lot of this can also be explained by the hypnagogic/hypnopompic phenomena. It is absolutely fantastic the types of visual and auditory imagery that these twilight states can bring.

I encourage everybody to be on the lookout for them.

gtgeorgz, I hadn't read your post when I mentioned hypnagogic and hypnopompic states. Yes, this has very much the feel of reality. The whole high strangeness feelings associated with alien abductions and close encounters go hand in hand with it as well.

That's why Dr. Michael Persinger's research in Canada is so on target. He stimulates areas of the brain like the occipital and parietal lobes and produces these states almost on demand. However, I do believe these states are not just epiphenomena of consciousness. In many instances (which? that's the question) they are indeed real.

MODIFICATION: I meant to write, epiphenomena of neurology instead of consciousness. Because ALL is in a very definite sense, a phenomenon of consciousness.

When you say real, do you mean that the figures or 'energy' I see are actually there? If so, what actually are they? I would've thought that it's the dream state crossing into the reality that causes it. Making you think that its real when it's actually not but part of your dream. This is all very interesting though.

They are real, in the sense that they are from a realm that very definitely exists. You visit it while using these substances. Just because you are under the influence doesn't mean they're any less real. The reality shown under psychedelics has been described as "more real than real". Ask Huxley and the McKenna Bros (RIP, Terence).
