Title: Edit buyer feedback
Post by: pcgamer02 on August 18, 2011, 02:59 am
Sorry if this has been requested before. Didn't see anything.

Premise: Anything less than a 5/5 is damaging to a seller, especially someone just getting into the game.

Idea: Allow the seller to grant the buyer the ability to edit rating given after finalizing. I think you can do this now but its not automated?

Example: New buyer orders 3 of whatever and only receives 2. Buyer finalizes with a 2/5 and leaves negative feedback without first talking to the seller.

This way the seller can work with the buyer and get things worked out without dragging in an admin. It's a lot more helpful to see feedback comments like "Buyer made a mistake but fixed asap" rather than "Stuff showed I'm high".

In addition having the most active buyers rating carry more weight than a first time buyer would be good too. If joeblow or chronic or says the seller sucks I would trust that opinion more than Mr.Ijustfoundsr

Good to know! Thanks! What about the weighted feedback?

Many people agree with you but Silk has a slightly different take.
He wants each vendor to constantly prove themselves, an not rest on their reputation. He has a point, but my personal opinion is that he as gone too far.

Here is Silk's simple explanation:

Here is the formula he uses:
http://dkn255hz262ypmii.onion/index.php?topic=1216.msg10647#msg10647

They main point is that new feedback for established sellers doesn't count for much.
Not included in this explanation is the drop-off of weight for repeat customers which Silk values very very little. (Also, a mistake in my opinion)

Thanks for the info! Sorry to all for the unnecessary thread.
