Title: archived address used
Post by: 0BMX on September 11, 2013, 08:18 pm
Got this SR mail today.

You have recently used an archived Bitcoin address ...This address could be retired at any time. It is strongly advised that you use a new bitcoin address for future deposits.

1. What's a archived address?
1. Why should I retire my address?
2. Do I loose my coins when I don't change my address?
3. Can I change my BTC address when I have a open order?

Thanks in advance.

I used one and it wasn't a big deal. it's super easy to get a new one, I dont know about the open order thing though.

I'm no guru, but this is what I have gathered about btc wallets and sr:

All good 2 change address, but not when u got btc on it's way there. ur btc automatically transfers to ur new address which will now be the one appearing in ur account page.

new addresses are good to help you keep a track of who and where u sent money to, as well as help preventing links between yourself irl and sr.

Use a new address every time you purchase btc
