Title: LSD + Moclobemide ?
Post by: lucymylove on October 29, 2011, 07:59 pm
Hello gang,
I wonder if anybody tried LSD + Moclobemide (Aurorix).

I tried it with shrooms and increased intensity of trip (x2).
Cause psilocin and LSD have similar base structure, I think it also must increase LSD trip intensity.

So, anybody tried it ?

an MAOI would increase the trip, yeah..
google Passionflower + LSD

a lot of people say that is the best combo.

I have no first hand experience, but there was research that indicated a pure MAO-A inhibitor will actually subdue some aspects of an acid trip. It results in more serotonin, which I assume competes at the receptor or competes with the partial agonist properties of lsd intracellularly (lots of full agonists >> tiny bit of partial agonist?? idk). So... moclobemide + lsd = disappointment I would predict... (just like an ssri will reduce the ability to trip i think)

The reason is that lsd is different than DMT (and 4-HO-DMT) is because it is not metabolized by MAO so you do not get increased levels, and it will not potentiate the effects. By taking the enzyme inhibitor you reduce some of the first pass metabolism, increasing the drug concentration in your brain. The increase in serotonin will still offset the increase in intensity somewhat for DMT as well.

Passionflower contains MAO-A inhibitors known as harmala alkaloids. These have "slightly" psychedelic properties of their own, which is why they synergize and alter an acid trip.

MAOIs are extremely dangerous and there are a number of foods/drugs one is recommended to avoid. Ingesting these substances can be lethal, so be careful.
