Title: Is it ok to buy from BitInstant via TOR and transfer to a ClearNet MTGox?

Or should I access BitInstant via ClearNet so that there is no link even to this temporary TOR identity?

Hello ValiantExplorer,

When Mt. Gox receives your coins = That is all they receive
Mt. Gox will not know if you were using a Tor hidden service to purchase the coins through BitInstant.

In my opinion I would steer clear of Mt. Gox. From Bitinstant I would move the coins to an online wallet such as:

http://blockchain.info/wallet

From there you should move the coins through a mixer/tumbler (Blockchain have one!) straight to your SR account.

Such as -

BitInstant > Blockchain Wallet > Blockchain Mixer > New SR Generated BTC address
Also, every new deposit to SR should be to a newly generated BTC address!

But does BitInstant sell BitCoins? As far as I understood, you only use it to move USD to MtGOX...

I think mtgox does know when you're using tor as they can detect proxies.

But meh... I don't like either bitinstant or mtgox. But thats just my opinion...

MtGox only knows you're using a proxy if you try to view the site while on Tor. If you use Tor to access BitInstant and from there send coins to MtGox they won't know. They'll just see the BitInstant address where the coins came from and the coins that came in. They can't see beyond that so they won't know how you connected to BitInstant.
