Title: Suboxone -vs- Subutex
Post by: HarryJohnson on October 25, 2012, 04:23 am
I'm use to taking only Suboxone. Maybe 2mg daily to keep the willys away. I'm able to grab some Subutex but wanted to know if there is any difference besides the Naloxone that is in Suboxone? Is Subutex the same thing just without the Naloxone? I don't IV this stuff or try to get high from it. I strictly use it for in-between my uses of other opiates. Thanks.

yes, the active ingredient buprenorphine is the same in each, you can substitute the subs just fine

biggest difference between the effects is some people say suboxone gives them headaches but subutex doesnt

naloxone doesnt really do much unless IV'd (and even then some say it doesnt work - but i know for some it definitely does)

Yeah Subutex is a perfectly good substitute.  The only difference is it lacks Naltrexone.  I don't think you will notice it, since the amount of Naltrexone is very low in Suboxone.  If anything it will be slightly more enjoyable.

its definitely not naltrexone

suboxone has naloxone in it, not naltrexone

they are two completely different chemicals

and if taken normally the naloxone has basically no effect so there will be no difference
