Title: Anyone else in the UK experiencing a lot of no-shows at the moment?
Post by: Rowsdower on October 29, 2012, 11:18 am
I don't know what's going on but in the last 2 weeks I've had 5 no-shows from domestic vendors.  All but one of the orders were from vendors I've used many times in the past without issue.  Only 1 other small order made it through and arrived the next day.  Is anyone else in the UK experiencing major delays?  I've had perfect buyer stats til now out of about 100 transactions but now it seems that's about to change.  I've never had a first class item take more than 4 working days to successfully arrive so I'm pretty sure the orders aren't going to turn up at all.  Maybe recently there's been a drastic increase in postal theft and/or postal workers are catching onto the shipping methods of SR vendors?

Who were the vendors? Postage in the uk rose a month ago and I had a couple shows up weeks later with unpaid postage.

Yes! But it's only happening with Domestic vendors atm (for me).

I received a SR package from a different country last week though and I have recently made 2 UK orders in the past week but have not received those yet.

Very small sample size but seems odd. And they are certainly not packages, most likely just envelopes which is what puzzles me.

(also I have 15 transcations, £500 spent, perfect buyer stats etc)

EDIT: I received one today (3 days, 1st class.. but over the weekend) and the other one I believe was a misunderstanding/communication and wasn't actually sent. I am relieved at least, but this doesn't bode well for you and I do agree with the "scam" that BeansUSA is mentioning. Royal mail don't lose envelopes.

For what it's worth 2 orders i have sent out domestically have taken 8-10 days to be delivered and both with unpaid postage. I'm sure that the postage was correct based on the info i had from RM (unless they haven't updated their leaflets/website). The feedback i got from my customer was that the postman was unsure why it was under paid. My internationals have seemed to turn up without a problem so far bit it's still early days for a few of the items.

I've also had orders i have placed from reputable international vendors that haven't turned up only for it to turn up exactly the same day as a reship. Also just plain no shows from the same vendors with no love letters. Seems that the mail around here is way under resourced especially since the olympics...

Scammers mate,  Royal Mail are just as reliable as I am.  The vendors are messing you about.
