Title: Windows 8 and PGP
Post by: trigunideals on September 22, 2013, 10:59 pm
Hey guys, PGP noob here, I was wondering if anyone had insight on to windows 8 and PGP? I know a lot of stuff doesn't work with Windows 8, and as I've recently not been able to get any of my PGP programs to work correctly, I think this is the case for PGP as well... Anyone know anything about this, would some kind soul be willing to assist me in getting my PGP to work on my new laptop?

For gpg4usb: according to   http://www.portablefreeware.com/index.php?id=1656

Quote
System Requirements:    Win98 / WinME / WinNT / Win2K / WinXP / Vista / Win7 / Win8

So idk.

What's going wrong with it?

Hey thanks for the link I'm checking it out now - I was using GPG4win and every time I tried to copy the guy's PGP key I wanted to message it would just say it was invalid, even though I know it's current. I really have no idea what I'm doing here though, I was just trying to get it to work using the youtube guides.

Sounds like it was working ok.

When you copied the key, did you include "-----BEGIN PGP PUBLIC KEY BLOCK-----" all the way through "-----END PGP PUBLIC KEY BLOCK-----" ?

Yes... include all that.  Even for when you encrypt/decrypt messages.
