Title: Expand the "domestic only" feature to "regional only"
Post by: nobody on June 04, 2012, 01:14 pm
Basically regional would mean if I ticked it everything shown would be from the EU rather than everything shown be from the specific country I live, for an American I guess it would be less significant because the USA is so large and their post is checked more strictly (is it checked so much from Canada and the like too?) but for smaller countries it's a good idea and for people in places like the EU or other zones of economic co-operation.

This is a terrible idea. Sometimes us people in the UK don't want stuff sent from France as it goes through customs controls etc.

A better idea would to simply add a 'continent' button. But hell no don't remove domestic only.

Ah yeah absolutely I didn't mean replace it. I mean have it as an additional option.

Or you could just look at the tab on the right that says "Ships out of USA" and avoid such listings.

Probably not good to narrow it down like that, would make it easier to bust vendors

Regional listing within the United States could be a good idea.  As in East Coast, West Coast, Midwest, and South.  It wouldn't narrow down location too far, but it would give you an idea of whether or not your package would be shipped from a known "drug state".  Example, parcels from California are going to make anyone with a clue think of dank nugs, and to avoid such associations entirely would be optimal.  Considering that this could be somewhat more compromising than simply listing ships from USA, just make it an option for the vendor to list.  Of course, the original idea was not for sub-regions within domestic, but in larger countries the concept could still apply.
