Title: Dental descalers
Post by: GiveItASniff on October 13, 2012, 12:48 am
I am tired of paying dental hygienists to clean my teeth when I can do this myself with the proper tools. I would like to see high quality dental descalers offered in the medical equipment section. To legally purchase a true dentist quality descaler in the US, a DEA number is required. The only reason for this is that dentists have a legal monopoly on their industry. They charge wayyy too much money to scrape the crap off of people's teeth. Also, wayyy too much money to drill a hole, plug it up with some resin and shine a light on it. This is silly. It's one thing if you need a root canal or an apicoectomy, but routine dental work requires minimal skill.

Legal products offered on amazon.com and other similar websites are garbage.

Ahh just cringed at the thought of performing my own root canal.

A root canal is actually a fairly simple procedure. Obviously, you would need some articaine.

Also useful for taking big fat wax dabs!

I'm sure its a pretty simple procedure, I just wouldn't trust myself to do it on myself, awkward angle and all.

You'd probably have no issues importing them from a reputable dealer from EU, preferably look at ones from Germany or UK (or made with German/British surgical stainless). Even the Pakistan steel ones are decent. Search 'periodontal curette' and 'periodontal scaler' (curettes are used for below the gumline whereas scalers are used above).
