Title: Domestic package never came. Advice?
Post by: garliccity00 on February 23, 2012, 04:08 am
It has been weeks and the package hasn't arrived. It usually only takes 3 days from this location...what's the deal, what could happen?

I once had a domestic package take a few weeks! I actually question whether the vendor even remembered to send it initially or if it just sat at the post office for a while given the postmark though.

Possibly the address was accidentally messed up unfortunately?

I ordered domestic in the U.K. and nothing showed. The seller graciously offered a re send, which I gladly accepted. Now I'm worrying that it's possible my address has been flagged and that the re send and the other foreign order I am waiting for will both be snagged and I'll get a visit or a call. Surely if the authorities get lucky and intercept a package containing illegal drugs they have some means of monitoring the destination address?  Any knowledgeable post office employees out there?  :-\

If you suspect that your address has been flagged (probably doubtful) you could send yourself a package.  Wrap up some harmless object (anything legal of course) and tape it in such a way that if it was opened that you would know.  A ton of tape on the inside and they would have to tear it up and replace it with some other wrapping.  But just remember what you wrapped it in. Something unique like a page from a newspaper or just anything you would recognize as being a different wrapping.

If you had been flagged and they were checking your packages, of course they would see that there was nothing illegal and try to repackage it in such a way that you would not know it had been messed with.  However, since you packaged it, you would be able to tell that your original wrapping inside had been replaced.  And if you taped the crap out of it, they would have to use some other paper.  You would know.

If your package goes through without a hitch your probably good to go.
