I know reading is healthy and to be encouraged but I can't imagine that I have to pour through this forum just to have a simple instruction manual for a newbies first order.
I'd like to know how to handle a controlled delivery should one occur and how to recognize it as such. I'd like to know what a 'love letter' is and how to react to it / it's consequences. Basically just a quick summery of the most imperative information any newbie will need to be equipped for her first purchase.

1.) The mail man will not be the same mailman that delivers your normal mail
2.) It will not be delivered ontime
3.) They will knock on the door and ask you to sign DO NOT SIGN, DO NOT SIGN ANYTHING EVER
A love letter is a customs seizure, you don't reply to those.
Best of luck.

In my opinion the things you listed are not so imperative. If you use a solid trusted vendor you should never have to worry about a CD.. Also always use a drop address for deliveries. It's never a good idea to store your gear where you receive shipment. If you're ordering domestic you won't even need to worry about 'love letters'.
My best advice to you is; use an experienced vendor for your first couple purchases. Someone with 300+ transactions and solid feedback. You do that it'll take a lot of the stress out of the whole process!

Be sure to NEVER order anything that is said to require signature. That way, if anything should ever show at your door asking for your John Hancock, you can tell him 'fuck off and die, i dont sign for strange packages." Thats that.
Love letters are nothing really. Ive never gotten one, but every one that does simply ignores it and takes the loss on their drugs.
