Title: Anonymous & Secure Images
Post by: smogmonster13 on February 14, 2013, 08:38 pm
Can anyone recommend a good way to make sure that images I might like to share are devoid of any metadata or other markers that could link back to me? Thanks.

For windows, software like this removes EXIF/MetaData from jpeg/png's.

There's a post somewhere around the forums for Linux.

Screen shot - copy - paste in paint - save image.

Yes, it is that easy. When the screen shot is pasted it becomes a whole new image.

If you use "Tails":

There is a cleaner tool in applications>accessories>
I don't know how well it works, the data is invisible to me, lol.

If you make a screenshot or BMP file, does not the Jpeg or whatever you make from that have new metadata on it?
