I would be interested in seeing Satellite TV wafer cards and Airsoft for sale in OZ

sat tv in auz seems to mostly (like much of the rest of the world) be ruled my mr murdoch, whist i heard irdeto 2 was cracked (not confirmed this but it was solid for a long time, it had to break eventually) it could possibly still work for a very short while, but they have videoguard encryption up and running on the channels now and will no doubt be making the full switch to that very soon if they havent already and lyngsat are just a bit out of date on their listings. VG isnt likely to end up publicly cracked any time soon, ive heard its been done privately but news corp are known for finding those who crack their system and release it and handing their arse to them, so it hasnt happened in all the time ive known the sat scene, and thats pretty much since the birth of VG and the digital switch. also wafer cards have been somewhat dead for some time in the sat world really, they were too expensive and changed too often, these days people use linux based receivers or cams with embedded card emulators to get the job done as they have faster processing capabilities than the chip on a card. so the short answer is there wont be any hacked cards, but...
another thing which came about along with the advent of the linux recs back in about 2003 was cardsharing (you can also now do it with a season interface and cam too) an emulator on your rec pulls the keys from a server or other person online who has an official card allowing you to watch, sometimes theres the odd freeze or drop out, especially when the servers are under pressure during say a big sporting event, but generally it works fine or so im told, last time i was doing it was in about 2004 with some of the very earliest methods and with the aid of a greek friend from a forum i had the greek NOVA package for a while. generally unless you have a card to share already youll have to find a commercial card server where you pay for access to it, these usually have more than one card so can open up a lot more channels but im not sure itd be that much use to you in auz as your only real near neighbor is japan and they generally use powerVU encryption, i wont go into the details but youre not cracking that one any time soon and beams are fairly tightly focused on japan anyway so youd have to be in north oz with a big dish to even think about getting them anyway
all that said i could be wrong, ive been out of the sat game for a good while now plus im in europe so not that familiar with your packages etc although i did regularly read an aussie dreambox board back in the day, but a quick check plus my old knowledge says it isnt happening im afraid, on the plus side though if videoguard does ever get cracked pretty much all of the developed world will cheer for the free tv itll bring as VG is claiming quite the monopoly these days (SKY uk/italia, direcTV us, foxtel and many others) oh and just for future reference if you see a tv network sending out new cards it usually means only one thing, someone found a hole in their crypt, but issuing new cards and often in some cases receivers is a lengthy and expensive process so youll probably have chance to get in while theyre changing the cards for a while granted the hack went public

Thanks very much for taking the time to write such a detailed explanation.
