Title: Include names in feedback
Post by: watmm on June 20, 2011, 05:09 pm
Hey all,

As was previously requested here:
http://ianxz6zefk72ulzz.onion/index.php/forums/thread/444

I think that as this site expands that this is an essential feature to be able to properly guage a users' reputation.
Without being able to also view the people that have bought from them, how else do you determine if they're gaming the system?

Anyway, isn't the privacy of the people who gave feedback already protected by virtue of Tor?

As it stands i don't feel comfortable buying anything without this ability, and i'd really like to start buying.

It is important to protect buyer privacy but I am pretty sure some of these 100% good feedback newbie accounts are shill reviews.  I wonder if we could do a "member since" or some other way to identify lairs and cheats without hurting privacy.

Member since would be a better idea, and maybe indicate how many transactions the buyer has made without indicating name. Including a buyer's name could put them at a lot more risk.

Wouldn't having buyer names in the feedback give LE the ability to publicly track who sold what to whom?

Let me get this straight:

1) You want your username to be associated with purchasing narcotics.

2) You want to make a public admission of receiving the narcotics, including a review of its quality, and even remarking on the timeliness of the shipping of the narcotics.

3) And not only that, you want the history of your transactions and admissions to be open and accessible to anyone.

Am I missing anything? This sounds like a great idea. Where do I sign up?

Hah....definitely do NOT want name to be associated with feedback....or any way for them to figure out who the feedback came from...like it says on SR: don't get comfortable.

ummm: this presumes this site'll never get culled for LE...I'd be real uncomfortable with this...lets don't help them anymore than we already are.   We drop our guards enough as it is, and I don't want to get so cocky I start admitting that even the 'username' is engaging in illegal activities...I know we want to sort out the idiots from the good guys, but buyers are way more vulnertable than sellers already...

just a suggestion, but instead of including names on feedback, at least include something like "time until arrived" or "time on order" that is system generated. i think it might cut down on some users posting feedback for themselves if they have multiple ID's. because if an order was only pending for a couple hours or a day, I wouldn't trust that feedback (other than for digital deliveries) and it would take more patience for a user to list an item...log out...log in under new id...place order...wait 3-4 days...log in as buyer...confirm...leave feedback.   I know it won't stop the problem, but it might help.

This might expose any current scammers, and that's only if SR kept enough info stored to put this kind of info into the feedback already created. Any new scammers would be smart enough to wait 5 days to post the feedback on their phantom purchases. There really needs to be some kind of buyer rating.

I do like the member since, but instead of mentioning an exact date, put  Member for x days, and then after they've been a member for at least a month, move to a month system that say member for x Years, and x Months.
