Title: Could someone find out who you are if you create your own avatar?
Post by: TylerDurdensPenis on May 02, 2013, 02:21 am
If I were to go into photoshop and make my own avatar and save it as a jpeg, would photoshop leave information in the EXIF file or jpeg tag identifying me or my computer? Is that why no one here seems to use their own avatars?

There are programs you can use to strip EXIF and other info from a photo or image.  I imagine the reason most people don't bother with an avatar isn't because they are afraid it will identify them, they just can't be bothered doing it.

Cool. I went ahead and tried it, and looked after uploading, there isn't any info.
