Title: How about we add merit to feedback?
Post by: jkro04 on January 04, 2012, 07:53 pm
Ok, so I recently got scammed pretty hard.  I saw all the wonderful praise in the feedback and finalized early (I know, my fault) and poof, never heard from the guy again.  I don't know that the feedback was fake, but only about half seem to be updating their feedback.  Anyway, it got me thinking about how we might be able to weed out fake feedback.

As far as I know, there's no explicit way to know that feedback is coming from an established user with a good buying history.  Do you think perhaps we could add something that would put a red flag next to feedback coming from users who have no buying history or have only bought from the vendor they're reviewing (in case of a scammer buying buying from himself to make the fake user look more established)?  I realize we shouldn't try to be weary of new user's feedback, but something like this might be a useful indicator of scams.  Just an idea.
