Title: Ordering Samples from New Vendor
Post by: happyroller1234 on January 31, 2012, 01:33 am
Is this okay to do, as long as I encrypt my address?
He's offering capsules of some psilocybin, and it seems legit.
Any advice?

It should be fine as long as you take normal precautions.
Ie: your computer security is good and your house is clean of drugs while waiting for the package.
Check out the tutorial in my signature if you need any security advice.

Gosh, I'm freaking out.  I never knew how computer incompetent I was until I tried to figure out Liberte and TrueCrypt.
I have a Mac and I'm having serious issues with trying to install and utilize both of these programs.
I tried to encrypt my whole USB drive with TrueCrypt, and it was a long and complicated process in which I got lost.
I also was very, very lost with Liberte, and I've read instructions/tutorials on the forums as well as the sites where the programs are hosted.
Is there a way someone can totally dumb down what to do to encrypt my USB/hard drive?
I've spent already 5+ hours and I am so lost.
PLEASE HELP.

in alot of peoples opinion those programs are not required, if u save tor browser and everything to do with SR on a flash drive, and have a good hiding place for it your good to go.. thats what im doing, heard alot of others are as well. im def not going through the trouble of full HD encryption..

I kind of thought my tutorial was easy enough to understand, what steps are you stuck at?
For liberte I suggest doing this in windows. Download the .zip off the site and extract it to the empty flashdrive. Right click > run as admin the ,bat
Change boot up priority to USB and set an encryption password. Voila, you now have liberte working.

I don't have a Windows computer, though...
First time I wish I did, because it seems easier that way.
Here's where I got stuck:

"Linux: Copy liberte/setup.sh to a local directory, and run sh setup.sh /dev/XXX as root — providing the unmounted media to which you extracted the archive as the argument. For ext[234] filesystems, copying and unmounting is unnecessary — just run the script directly."

I tried copying and pasting in Terminal, but I don't know if I'm supposed to change "/dev/XXX" to something else.

That's what I've been doing as of late, but I've yet to make a first order.
Have you made any successful orders?

XXX would be changed to location of the flashdrive, for example "sdb1"
I am not intimately familiar with how/if Mac OSx and Linux differ on that, so you may want to research how how devices are mounted on Mac OSx.
You may want to just run dual boot windows if you cant figure out or run it side by side with parallels.

I FIGURED OUT HOW TO DO A FULL DISK ENCRYPTION ON MY USB, with a dummy!
I'm so proud.  Haha.
Do I still need Liberte?
And also do I need to do a secure erase on my computer if I EVER simply accessed SR (before I moved Tor to a USB)?
If so, how do I do that?
I have a LOT of files I would like to keep.

The secure erase would be the conservative route. What you could do is 1) delete anything related to TB on your Mac, 2) Run Disk Utility (comes with it) and secure erase free space only ... that would be better than nothing. To boot a linux distro on your mac you're going to need rEFIt or gnu grub and I recommend you stay away from that software. Just read the bug reports. You can end up with a toasted computer.
