Post by: dubsteppingit on September 16, 2011, 09:46 am
Just sent 18 or so BTC into my SR account via Bitcoin7 and in the history it shows it has appeared then straight away been withdrawn and I am left with 0.08.
Whats happened?

Here is what ive got

action notes amount balance date

withdrawal ฿-18.90 ฿0.08 September 16, 2011, 8:32 am UTC
deposit (*************************) ฿18.98 ฿18.98 September 16, 2011, 7:35 am UTC

They've just vanished, bitcoin7 hasnt got them back and I havnt recieved or withdrew anything myself, and nobody knows my sign in credentials

What can I do?

Just please edit and delete btc deposit address from your post.
There are many phishing site what could withdraw funds from your account.
Sorry, but I dont think anybody can do something..you can try ask SR admin what to do.
Change your password. Do not use the same password on different sites.

@dubsteppingit

I have had the same thing hapen to me. I made a deposit yesterday and my money is gone this morning. What happened. I am soooo careful only to go to SR from the onion link. The odd thing id that there is no bitcoin address for the withdrawal. I noticed that you did not list a withdrawal address in you post as well.

This is my first time to populate my account it was there at 1:42 AM UTC and it was gone at 10:55 AM What is up with this ???  Is there any way to reverse this??? How do I fight this???

Any suggestion are greatly appreciated

Nothing I can say about your lost BitCoins. As I understand it, there is no undo. Sucks massively for you I know!

When you say onion link what do you mean? I never follow a link to SR, best thing to do is always type the address in. Another thing I do is spend my SR money instantly. I hold my BC elsewhere and only transfer what I need when I need it. The moment I see it in my SR account, I spend it. Change your password or set up a new account. It's not a great start but don't be put off.

There's some hard case hackers hitting this site, for obvious reasons, so just be real careful.  I know the feeling: I lost 40 btc a couple months ago, but it was my own damned fault.  Main thing is *don't* come here from a link.  Get the address here and save it...if you are using Tails or another live distro, maybe save your addresses/bookmarks on a flash drive or in cloud.  I don't trust any onion links, as they've been hit before...and use serious passwords too...good luck everybody, it does suck, but I operate on the theory that we're always going to be under attack here, either LE or criminals...

I would suggest using something like KeePass too with KeeFox (with a strong password) to autofill the form.  That way, even if there was an address that was one letter off from the real URL, the form wouldn't fill and cause you to wonder why.  You could then access the URL via the "Logins" which would take you to the correct site.

I got my original username stolen in like 5 minutes the second time I tried to log in.  Accidentally followed a link from the hidden wiki and it wouldn't log in.  By the time I found the real link the password was changed.  Fortunately all the got was an account that had no money or reputation to be stolen.
