Title: Vitamins
Post by: Delta11 on March 24, 2012, 06:52 pm
Post what vitamins you take here!

I've been taking this vitamin combo for the past year and it really has changed my life for the better so I wanted to share it with all of you. Some tips that I've learned along the way:
-Make sure you take all of them right after a meal to avoid some serious nausea.
-Make sure to take them with real fruit juice to help absorption
-Try to take them everyday!

I take b-complex and vitamin d every morning.

Everything else I get from my normal diet.

Also, I will use creatine for a few months at a time when I want a little help with my lifting.

I have a tough time swallowing some bigger pills, so I go with chewable vitamins.  Trader Joe's has a pretty good chewable adult multi-vitamin that I take.

I take 1500MG of Calcium Citrate per day, without fail.  I prefer the chewable wafers that TwinLab makes-- they also include Magnesium and Vitamin D3 which your body needs to absorb the calcium.   Your body can't absorb much more than 500-750MG of calcium at once, so it's best to take calcium in divided doses (half in the morning, half in the afternoon/evening).

(Ladies, do not slack on your calcium. Start as early in your life as you can. Seriously. Do not fuck around.  Osteoporosis sucks HARD.)

When taking calcium, make sure it's Calcium Citrate. Most calcium supplements are the much cheaper calcium carbonate... your body barely absorbs calcium carbonate, so you're probably taking a ton of it thinking it's doing you some good, and it's not.  Read the label, yo.  (Be aware: There's a brand of calcium called "Citrical" which people just assume is Calcium Citrate because it just kinda sounds like it. It's not. Read the label.)

(Sorry, just got a little soapboxxy there! :)  )

Here's my vitamin regimen before taking MDMA:

About 3-4 days before I'm planning to roll, I'll take 100MG of 5-HTPs each day, in two divided doses. (One 50MG capsule in the morning, another in the evening; usually with food.)

About 2 hours into the roll and again the next morning, I take 400 IU of Vitamin E, 10,000 IU of Vitamin A, and 2 grams of Vitamin C.  (Take the Vitamin C with a little food; it can give you a little heartburn if you take it on an empty stomach.)

Anti-oxidants are important during and after an MDMA session, even a light one.

A multivitamin every day, and make sure I spend some time in the sun.

Vitamin C is a big deal to me, as a cigarette smoker, I've put a lot of bad things in my body.  Vitamin C breaks down some of the nasty stuff in cigarettes, so I would imagine it would do the same on other things.
Remember that vitamin C will inhibit some protein absorption, but is more readily absorbed when combined with Iron.

Great advice! We do exactly the same and feel great :)

Also, add 15 to 20 mins of Cardio work out and you should feel even better!

I take the following every morning when i wake up:Multi day vitamin, coq-10,ginko bilobia, milk thistle, L-tryosine, Vitamin b6, and vitamin b12. (There is vitamin b 6 and b 12 in my multi day but, i found that taking a little bit more in the morning makes me less drowsy.) I always have to take them before eating otherwise i get sick.

Just have a good diet. You don't want to overdo these vitamins as every intake of one effects your bodies processing of another, especially calcium I would avoid that completely.

The poisons my partner and I indulge in semi-regularly include LSD, MDMA and Meth.

Aside from a healthy diet and semi-regular exercise (this needs to become more regular, although we have LOTS of the good kind of exercise very regularly of course...), we both take lots of multivitamins.

I take:
Swisse Men's Multi F1
Swisse Men's Green Multi
Strong B complex (contains 150mg of most B vitamins and appropriate amounts of other B vitamins)
Anti-oxidant capsule - the name escapes me now, but it's rated as the strongest anti-oxidant on earth

Preloading:
The only preloading we ever do is for MDMA and we usually eat around 2 - 3g of Vit C about 2 or so hours before eating MDMA.

Postloading:
After a session of any of the above poisons, we also add a couple of tabs containing Vitamins A, C, E + Echinecia and Zinc for 2 - 3 days
For MDMA we'll consume around 300mgs of 5-HTP over 2 days
For Meth we'll consume around 2 - 3gs of L-Tyrosine

Hardly ever have a bad come down, even when we have 2 sleepless nights in a row, and generally are in a good mood after about a day of going nuts...

I do strongly believe however that no matter how many supplements you take, if you're not generally healthy and have a positive outlook when not on drugs, you won't survive too much indulging. Sorry to get a bit philosophical here, but your mental and emotional stability and positivity are the number 1 pre and post load factor. My somewhat noob advise is not to do drugs to escape reality, but to enhance already good factors in your life. Eg if you have a partner, sometimes treat both of yourselves and indulge in the poison to enhance your relationship - especially physically but also mentally and emotionally.

Second verbal diarrhoea over! (Once again BIG UPS to AusGuy for his surprisingly amazing meth - surprising, because I didn't expect a local vendor to come through so good!)

3-5g vitamin C, 300-500mg flavonoids
MindFood and/or ThinkDeep
Methylcobalamin
D3 with cofactors

Also, chlorella and spirulina.

I'm interested in what the anti-oxidant capsule you take is called! I feel like that's the only thing missing in my vitamin routine.

Finally found the bottle, as I usually have all my daily vitamins in 1 bottle at work.

The anti-oxidant is called Astaxanthin and the brand I get is "now" although it might not be available in your area.
Daily recommended dose is 4mg and for those suffering any joint or muscle pains, this also offers relief..
Its main advantage over many other anti-oxidants however is that it easily crosses the blood/brain barrier thus feeding the brain that suffers the most from all of our chemical shenanigans!

Obviously being a naturopathy product its makers cannot make specific claims as to its benefit, but I'm sure you all know about how all these FDA etc classifications and approvals work!

To be honest as much research as I do the health stuff, my mum is the mountain of knowledge! If only she knew what I was using her naturopathy knowledge for... lol

For years I was drinking a store bought brekky juice. Mrs bought me a juicer about 3 yrs ago and FUCK ME... The kick from real juiced over a premade is phenomenal!
As for what flavour? I'm currently running a pear, orange, Gfruit and kiwi combo! But failing a reasonable fruit selection there's always oranges and carrots in my house and I've develloped the taste for it!

I take all of my vitamins in the morning with my breakfast and a glass of juice for better absorption. I know it's supposed to be a sleep aid but when I take it in the morning it completely relaxes me and stabilizes my mood which is awesome because little things don't irritate me anymore and I actually get better sleep at night even though I take it in the morning. The only con so far that's technically a pro is that it kicks up my metabolism but since I already have a fast metabolism it feels like I'm always hungry haha.

Here are my doses:
Theanine - 200mg
Tyrosine - 500mg
Tryptophan - 1.5g

I dont think you can take L-Trypt and L-Tyro at the same time because one is for seretonin and one is for dopamine and they would be competing with each other to cross the blood brain barrier. I would space them out. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Umm that's like saying when you eat food or use certain drugs that release serotonin and dopamine at the same time. That they would cancel each other out. Now, if serotonin and dopamine bonded to the same receptors then i could understand that. But, you have different receptors for almost every endorphin. Correct me if i'm wrong.

You can but you're right it's recommended to space them out throughout the day however I normally don't have time to take the rest spaced out so I just take em all at once in the morning although I think I'm going to start taking the Trypt at night to see how it affects my sleep.

They do compete with one another to some extent since they bind to some of the same proteins in the BBB, but they can be taken simultaneously as long as low dosages are used. 500mg tyrosine and 1.5g tryptophan are excessive amounts, the vast majority of that is not absorbed or is metabolized into things other than those you intended (unless you also take P5P).

I would advise against taking large amounts of any amino acid, especially tryptophan. Tryptophan has a wide range of physiological effects, most of which are not desirable. You should read the following:

Your body stores vitamins in your body, if it didn't, we'd all pass out this instant. Use your money on vitamin D, magnesium (not the cheap oxid kind), vitamin C and take a multivit every other day. This is plenty for people who keep a healthy diet with various veggies

No more than 100mg of each, taken with Pyridoxal-5-Phosphate (the cofactor for the enzymes in your intestines that take up the amino acids). Pyridoxine won't work, you need P5P
