Levine, having taken two hits of blotter acid, trashed a Simon’s convenience store in Colchester near St. Michael’s College at about 11 p.m. that night, ran through campus and led campus security to the Lime Kiln Road bridge, according to Colchester Police Detective Tyler Kinney’s affidavit.
Levine then jumped off the bridge and fell about 40 feet onto the railroad tracks below, according to the detective. Rescue workers responded to the scene and transported the student to Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington.
Levine shattered his spine, fractured nearly all of his ribs and damaged several organs when he hit the tracks, according to the affidavit. His condition had improved to good by Wednesday morning, according to a hospital spokeswoman.

This is sad, i hope all will go well for him now ...
The same thing happens everyday with alcohol, and it is legal !
Let the acid free!
-
I haven't clicked the article, but I wonder if he was tested for LSD or if the article was just going off of what he told them. Not saying that kind of thing can't happen on acid but still, too bad he didn't think to have anyone with him to make sure he didn't do anything stupid :-\
-
If people focused more on promoting responsible drug use and proper education instead of fanatical demonizing, stuff like this probably would not happen at all, or at least much less often.
-
There are people who do this while sober. Should we ban sobriety?
-
we have lost a moron. Lets all fucking celebrate!
another one down!
;)

Shit happens.
Dude was trippin' ::)

Wait... If I understand this correctly:
ran through campus and led campus security to the Lime Kiln Road bridge, according to Colchester Police Detective Tyler Kinney’s affidavit"
Then it means that campus security *chased* him to the Lime Kiln Road bridge. He had trashed a convenience store so it seems logical. Then having nowhere else to go... Levine [...] jumped off the bridge and fell about 40 feet onto the railroad tracks below
...breaking every bone in his body. Why? Because he was afraid of getting caught being high. Thank god he was high, otherwise the campus security might have gotten some of the blame :/ Like if he was in a normal sober psychosis or just plain desperate. I think many of us would jump in that same situation if we thought we had a chance of getting away.

I get the sense that there are a lot of people defending the acid around here... I personally don't have any romantic ideals for psychoactives, so the story isn't really that big of a deal. Campus security was doing exactly what they are supposed to do.
If you are doing acid, don't be stupid. Acid fucks you up in the head, act accordingly.
Like valakki said, good riddance.

ON A DRUG FORUM?!?!?!
Man drinks beer, hits someone. Doesn't make the news but happened to thousands last night.

Yikes...
I'm all for LSD... just saying that the idiot who jumped off of a bridge on acid... was on acid. If he couldn't handle his shit then he shouldn't have been running around on acid. Now he has tarnished our image a little more... because he was doing stupid shit... on acid.
Acid played a undeniable part in the story. Irresponsible acid use is to blame for the story. This story isn't the injustice that we need to fight...
Sorry for being an asshole everyone. :-*

Agreed.. ah I could go on for hours about this..

+1 I like the way you think.. lol

that's assuming it was really lsd! there have been a few recent reports like this where the "lsd" in fact turned out to be a research chemical, usually 25i-nbome.

Either way...
He was still being an irresponsible user high on psychedelics. What does it matter whether it was 25i-nbome or acid?
Are you saying that if this same dipshit was on real acid for sure then none of this would have happened? I doubt it....
-
This can happen with legit LSD, unfortunately. I know we would love it to be otherwise, but it's not limited to recent or weird RCs. A similar incident stopped one of the secret CIA MKULTRA subproject trials, which was experimenting with LSD on unwarned people in the 70s (unwarned or irresponsible gets you the same results - but you can't wish every drug user to suddenly become responsible). You can read some declassified FOIA documents about it on .gov sites.

no, i'm not necessarily saying that. it just irks me when news articles spread misinformation... i suppose i should expect that though.

Yeah, I feel you there.. Sorry for sounding caustic. I think I lost some karma trying to say that the kid should have been more responsible with his drug use earlier in this thread and it left me feeling unnecessarily combative. :-[
Personally, I always assume the media is propaganda when it comes to drugs...

I would agree that unless this poor kid was tested who knows what he was on! A family member of mine thought they were smoking weed and had no idea it was laced with PCP what they call Wet. If it wasn't for good people around him he would be dead. The fact is that knowing where you get your drugs from and making sure you know what you are buying is half the battle. My brother never did PCP in his life and wasn't looking for it. Most people agree that while smoking weed one wouldn't be motivated to get off the couch! Most experiences include waking up with loads of candy wrappers and an empty fridge. If this had ended tragically would he have been the first person to die from smoking pot? OF COURSE NOT. Had it just been weed him trying to reach the top of a 20 story hotel to fly wouldn't have happened. It was the PCP and NOT simply the weed that made him think he could fly.
Point is who knows what this kid really ingested and if it was all he ingested. From Dr. Gerson to Dr. Hoffman the list goes on-and-on from doctors to actors such as Jack Nicholson who have said LSD showed them a road once hidden. From Jim Morrison to Jimi Hendrix all people that avidly used LSD and never jumped off bridges. It's just a shame that drugs like LSD that have been proven to help cure alcoholism have to be purchased off the street and people have to take chances. Testing kits can help with this. BE SAFE travelers!!!
Blessings.

LSD may show you a road once hidden... It can also cause you to do insane stuff in the hands of the careless.
Is there any real evidence that he was on another substance, other than your personal desire to see LSD in a perfectly harmless light? Celebrity endorsement of a chemical hardly makes it risk free. I have known many people to do many stupid things on acid...
LSD is a tool, and at times a toy. Downplaying the risks only ensures that more people are going to miss that hidden road..
People saying drugs (including acid) are harmless are the reason for stories like the one we are discussing today.
I'm not trying to demonize LSD, I am a firm proponent of drug proliferation and exploration, I am just honestly concerned with denial in the drug community as a whole.. Thoughts?

I believe LSD does more good than harm, but nobody should be careless with their use. In a way it is the same with food; fast food is useful at times, but abuse it careless and harm will come to your body.
I can admit that I do many things on acid and shrooms that most would consider stupid. I love climbing trees, train martial arts (with weapons), bicycling and some acrobatics. If it came out that youngsters were doing martial arts on acid that would create headlines in the small town I live ::) But by considering the risks, making sure we got our set and setting right, we manage to avoid accidents and we learn a lot from our sessions. You can push the limits of the body when you trip, but you need to be aware that you are doing that, otherwise you might push them too far at the wrong time. Safety always needs to be considered.
The best we can do is to learn from each others and avoid doing mistakes that has already been done before. That is why forums like these are so valuable, maybe more than Silk Road itself. The market place helps us find each other so we can tell and listen, learn and teach. I admit I downplay the risks at times :( Your points are very valid and necessary.
Be safe.
Disclaimer: Do not do martial arts while high unless you have a lot of training and experience under your belt!
