what do you think?
-
Liquids are harder to ship. Especially the flammable ones.
-
the only thing id like to see is pure ethanol, lol.
actually i wouldnt mind an alcohol section as long as major brands arent allowed to be sold there. i would love to have a place to buy rare beers and liquor. The reason I say no major brands is too keep the 16 year olds from buying 3 30 racks of natty ice and a bottle of smirnoff then crashing mommys car. Keep it to singles or 6-12-24packs of micro beer or bottles of liquors that arent easily obtained in stores.

This would be cool. Not sure if SR is the right place for it, but I'd like a platform to buy tax free homebrews from hobbyist brewers.

Shipping is the practical problem here indeed.
Alcohol as such could be place under drugs/other like tobacco without a problem, but considering the cost of shipping a gallon of liquid i suppose the market would be rather small.

I think It is actually a good idea to make the alcohol category. I ve recently posted a thread about a very good locally made Absinth with high Thujone content named Bairnsfather Bitter and got quite positive feedback from people wanting to buy It. If there would be a separate category for alcohol on SR more people can find It and more vendors could think of offering their local stuff tax free. Shipping should not be that much of a problem since alcohol is not treated as "hardcore" drugs by customs I dont expect much hassle.

I wouldn't mind seeing an alcohol category, I know it would be a pain to ship, but getting some rare beer, whiskey and Rum would be nice, or pure ethanol, even better.
-
I guess it would be kind of cool for homebrew and rare wine and stuff like that but I don't know why anyone would SR for a sixer of Budweiser or anything silly like that. Plus side is I don't see the ATF kicking in your door over something that is legal(although probably not anonymously but mail I assume), especially during the holidays when people are probably doing it like crazy.
Edit: Good quality absinthe is hard to get so people might be interested in that. Anyone know the law about sending liquor?
-
Okay, this is how it should be done if it were to happen. I don't know if it could be done but say create the category and have a minimum price to keep all the bullshit off. That way you could say get that $150 bottle of wine you like that you can't find in your area or that particular bottle of absinthe but keep the guy off with the warehouse full of expired malt liquor...lol.

I suppose it's market for everyone. Perhaps people will use it to send bottles of everclear over state lines in the US.
Internationally i do not see much of a market at all just for the cost of shipping something that heavy across borders, but i'd be happy to be proven wrong on that assumption ;)
