Title: Mastermind Designs Morgan Silver Dollar and Silver Bars Vendor Review
Post by: wrestler04 on August 08, 2013, 02:35 pm
Hey guys I can't seem to find anything on this guy on the forums other than one guy complaining he didn't receive his order. I was hoping someone could give a review on him if they have done business with him. He's got a lot of positive feedback and he seems like a good guy when he responds to my questions. He takes forever to answer but he is very helpful in answering. I was hoping to get a thorough review on this guy before I dropped $800 on his 1893 S Morgan Silver Sollar. Thanks everyone.

I think it's cuz it's illegal to sell counterfeit silver dollars and he is based in the us. Seeing how much he charges for them though, Id think that the quality on these counterfeits r much greater than the ones coming from china. But again that's just what I'd like to believe but idk if this is actually true. That's why I started this thread to see how good his coins r.

Another thing, how the hell is he going from 84 rating back to 100? That makes me question his legitimacy even more . Like he's somehow getting rid of the negative feedback.

Really no one has anything to say about him but he has all those transactions.

So any updates? DPR posted this July 31st : "in all honesty, we just haven't been policing it.  its a tiny corner of the market that hasn't really caught my attention, but if what you are saying is true, then yea those fake silver listings and such should be taken down.  "

Does this mean Mastermind has seen the end of the road and is prepairing for his demise? I hope not! Any info about any of this????

i was going to say, i have no idea where you would be able to sell these coins, but upon further thought it is doable. Any real collector that knows anything will not buy these, because if they do any research they will know they are fake graded coins. they have known about these for a couple of years, so you can rule that one out. The best way to sell these would be in person( like a non collector that has money), cash, where the person gets the impression you stole them or just need money quick, thus offering far below market value, thinking they are getting a deal, especially if they suspect you could walk down the street and get 2-3x more.
I do think something is up with these, i find it hard to believe so many people bought them for what he is asking.
also, consider this, if he could really sell them for profit, why would he risk selling them on sr, diluting the market and making it potentially harder for him to sell these on his own.
something does not add up here...

read the discussions on his page. its a bad sign when the silver bars are being called out by multiple prospective buyers as being fake. the serial numbers are not what they should be for that bar(sign of a horrible fake), and stamps are sloppy and crooked(even worse). if people are noticing that on $250 bars, how do you expect to sell fake graded coins that you are paying almost $1000 for.

I understand exactly why he is doing it and exactly how to sell them.

So for instance why do people that can create fake IDs and social security cards sell them instead of use them directly for financial gain?

Why do hackers sell credit card numbers to carders instead of use their hacked information themselves?

Why do currency counterfeiters sell their currency instead of spending every bit they make themselves?

Now that’s not saying counterfeiters don’t spend some, or that some hackers don’t use the information they steal for doing carding themselves in some cases, or that some people that make fake IDs and Social Security cards don’t use the stuff themselves. But it’s very safe to say that these specialized people often sell their services/goods instead of using their skills themselves.........

I know of a dozen reasons why hackers, counterfeiters, and the guys that create fake currency sell their goods/products instead of using them personally.

As I said concerning MM I will continue to be a vocal supporter because I’ve been treated so well, even given freebies I didn’t ask for multiple times but it is my hope that MM will allow me to be the sole buyer of all his PCGS coins through private SR auctions for lets say his next 50 or 60 PCGS coins. That way I can take all the risk myself and the SR community wouldn’t need to wonder if he was legit or his quality. This would end all these topics and gossip.

I have nothing to gain by telling everyone how good his products are and I think I will end up losing money if anything. My reasoning is that if more people buy his PCGS coins then it will take even longer for my orders to be filled.

I believe that if MM gives me the opportunity to purchase 50 of his PCGS coins and we make separate auctions for each and I get them and I review them myself, as I have done for a dozen+ of his other products then the SR community should have no doubts.

I can afford to lose some money also so I am willing to take the risk and in this way no one in the community would need to put up their own money. I already know how good MM is but if he makes me 50 more PCGS coins on top of what I have already bought and I review each one everyone will know. I can buy $20,000 in PCGS coins per month and I will review that much so in just 2 months all the community will know how MM performs on a consistent level.

As stated before I am confident that I already am MMs largest customer and I would be honored if I could do this service for the community. I would also feel greatly privileged if MM would allow me to purchase the next 50 PCGS coins he makes.

I’ve already contacted him about doing this so I will post how things go. It does take a long time for me to get an answer back though lol :)

I hope this will help end any doubts anyone will have. I just ordered 3 more of his PCGS coins this week as well. It’s a pain for me to get the $10s of thousands in coins I will need for the next two months but I’ve already started stockpiling.

I love SR and MM has entered my fav vendor list!!

Everyone hang tight also I am going to be posting about more of my other favorite vendors and I will be providing reviews on their products.
I am very lucky as I have no bad reviews or experiences to post about vendors but then again I rarely purchase anything aside from weed as far as drug products go, not saying I never buy other stuff but I spend very little money on anything aside from weed and nondrug products.

Thanks for reading I hope someone is able to find something useful from my postings. Like I said I couldnt find anything helpful about MMs products on the forums so thats why I am sharing with everyone my personal first hand account after spending several thousands........with one purchase alone being somewhere around $6000.........i cant remember the exact dollar amount but very close to $6000

based on this long reply, i would not trust anything you say, and are most likely him
im not as stupid as some of these other people may be. thanks for the negative karma...

also, why do you think "he" is making these coins? they are being sold on other markets for $100 each

all they do is copy the pcgs numbers from current ones. problem is, there are not too many in each condition, so its pretty easy for anyone in the know to spot fakes.

also its not a good sign that DPR says they should not be sold on here

I dont know if he is making them or not honestly and Ive never asked him or tried to figure out myself, because all I care about is if I can trust him which I believe I can and if I can make money on what hes selling me.

Now if you read my msg I also clearly say that I want to buy his next 50PCGS coins myself. I am not trying to convince anyone to buy anything from him. But I am doing whats right in my own mind, which is giving props to someone that has sold me products that Ive made money on. I give props to good vendors, in fact that's manly what I use the forums for.

I am in the process now of posting about all of my favorite vendors. I know some people like to use the forum to be more cynical and speak about totally different things then me but I have fun posting positive threads about vendors that have treated me well and thats a big reason why I post the things I do, because I truly enjoy saying positive things about vendors/users/mods that have helped me. It means alot to me when people say thank you to me and show appreciation so I make sure to do that for other people.

Based on your reply's I would say just dont buy anything of his stuff or any stuff that you dont like, simple as that.

I want MM to give me the opportunity to have dibs on his next 50 PCGS coins so I can review them truthfully and accurately for the community so that no one has to put out any money or take a "risk" themselves.

it would be awesome if you bought them all, that way nobody else gets stuck with them.
based on most coin collectors right now, they wont touch these with a 10 foot pole because of all the fakes out there.

but to me, it sounds more like you are trying to get people to buy what he has now, threatening to buy up all his future stock.

its all too fishy to be trusted. abort!

He messaged me monday letting me know that I should get my package Thursday and I will update tomorrow or friday if I don't get it thursday

Also the reason he sells his counterfit coins here is because of the fact that they will allegedly pass xray tests as they are made with identical mineral composition and everything as the original coins

Other than that I will let you all know if my package arrives.  And it is weird as he is nolonger a vendor
