Title: FE problem
Post by: betaraybob on May 05, 2012, 01:15 pm
sorry for the hastiness and not exactly articulate response here, goddamn tor. i just wanted to mention that if we aren't gonna get rid of FE then we should implement some sort of bank(account) where all the FE orders go. (jesus,my guess is that tony made off with at least $100,000 worth of btc. 300 pages by 10 a page just for 4/20, $50 being minimum order)sorry to bring it up again but i feel like that was a failure on DPR's part. someone FE"s, it goes into an account that is controlled only by DPR or one of his employess(not by the vendor. released once transaction is completed. i agree with both cacoethes and phubaiblues, FE is not a good idea and defeats the whole purpose of this website, community, and what DPR says he trying to do. please excuse the anger in my post. we police are ourselves as much as possible but as has been said one voice calling someone out for something fishy will be drowned out by the superfans. and then that makes that person or some other less reluctant to speak up when they should the next time.

maybe some account where a transaction contributes a .1 btc or something to help. i dont know. im just sick of these FE scams. thats 3 for me even after i refused to do it again after paythepiper. ranting, i know.  cheers brothers and sisters.

Since the day I've joined SR (9 months ago) I have read one thing constantly, never FE. That to me is the golden rule to SR, never FE. So tell me how is it DPR's fault that we FE? I am one of the people that was scammed by Tony because I let my guard down, I let my guard down one time and was scammed. Do I blame DPR for it? No, I don't. Escrow has been put into place to protect everyone, both the buyer and seller. I have ordered several times before from Tony and have always received my order and have always FE as requested and when not requested so when he made it a requirement to FE due to the 4/20 sale I was completely okay with it because I trusted him and got scammed for it. How can I blame DPR for that?

i don't mean to blame DPR for all the ills that happen on his website and i agree with you about FE(and i dont't blame DPR for my decision to FE with tony) i also lost big on Tony but it just seems to me there could be more security as long as FE is kept around. why not abolish it completely since it seems to cause so much trouble? what good purpose does it serve here anyways? i just want this site to be able to improve constantly so that scammers have harder times ripping people off. i am more than happy to contribute a btc address that accumulates all FE's on this website until everything is worked out. harder done than said but $100,000 just for him from this sale is ridiculous. i don't care DPR's cut from it because he deserves every penny but surely there is some room for improvement?

Most vendors require new users to FE (buyers with 0-5 transactions) because who the hell wants to deal with a new buyer that receives their product in a short amount of time and let's it auto-finalize. I deal a lot of time with new buyers because my products are cheap so I really don't care if they wait 12 days after receiving their package to finalize, but imagine the vendors that sell expensive products. Most vendors on here rely on that money to continue their operation, to restock and grow and if you take away the option to FE then that will hinder a LOT of vendors that operate on this. The only way we can improve is to inform people not to FE and to strengthen the community, if a vendor requires you to FE because of the 0-5 transaction rule then buy small orders and work your way up. If a vendor requires you to FE for any other reason then just kindly refuse and find another vendor, it's that easy.
