Isnt the addresss box when you purchase something already encrypted

The address should be encrypted in addition to other security measures to ensure your maximum safety.If SR servers were compromised no one could get your address except the vendor. Do not rely on one method of protection when 2 are available.

It is encrypted when leaving your computer until it hits the SR. Tor does this.

If you use PGP for your address then it adds another layer of encryption that will remain until it is decrypted on your vendor's computer. This is safer.

Wikileaks spycables (dec 2011)

You will find several devices for L.e. to mass monitor tor data traffic.
Without gpg L.E. is able to filter addresses etc.

The same goes for tormail.
When no gpg is used, L.E.agentcy's will be able to read the data.

The only thing is that there is no ipaddress, so they do not where the data is coming from.
You will be safe only when tor and gpg is used together.

You know that wikileaks did read data that was send over tor?
