Title: question about pgp download
Post by: mrxempire on September 13, 2012, 07:58 pm
alright guys, i know this is probably a dumb question, but im at a total loss right now. Currently i am trying to download the pgp program so that i can encrypt my address when i order something from this site. I go to pgpi.org and select the pgp for my os, which is windows. once i click on this however, it takes me to the "pgp products" symantics site. This website looks a lot more professional and mainstream than the pgpi.org site that i was just on earlier. The thing is, i cant figure out where to click to download the freeware version. "pgp whole disk encryption?" "Endpoint encryption device control?" wtf are these? On all the pgp tutorial sites ive read so far, all it said was to download your version of pgp from pgpi.org. No tutorial mentioned the symantec site, and most of the options are not freeware. Plz help.  this is the site:    http://www.symantec.com/pgp

P.S this is slightly off topic, but if im just trying to order a few things "for personal use only", is it still that dangerous to put my unencrypted address on the shipping info? I figure of all the people on silk road, authorities would most likely be after the heavy buyers, not the average user. Nonetheless, id like to learn pgp encryption just to be on the safe side.
