Title: Add more sorting options to the listings!
Post by: Veetano on May 25, 2012, 02:42 pm
As SR grows... it can become increasingly harder to find new vendors, or simply vendors who put up new listings, without going through a tedious process of checking each one of their pages or scrolling through each page of the drugs listing.

One way to sort that seems it would be very easy to implement is a SORT BY WEIGHT option!

Example:

There are over 259 listings for weed. When I'm looking for people with Ounce, QP, and HP listings, I have to scroll through each page, several times, and try to find good deals.... this can take forever.

If there was a feature implemented to sort all listings by weight, business would be promoted for all vendors. All gram dealers would appear together, allowing people to look at all the options they have, same with bigger weights, etc.

To implement this with ease, simply add an option when a Vendor creates a listing that requires them to place how many Grams the order is...(of course have the option to not do this, but only for custom orders like vendors like Rook have).

So for instance.... Vendors creates a QP listing...he puts 112g or so in his weight box under the listing. When his listing goes up, a buyer who is sorting and looking through all possible options will be able to more readily compare deals and his options.

This would drastically increase efficiency of SR and wouldn't really have much of a negative side effect as long as vendors take caution of who they deal with. After all, vendors WANT their listings to get attention more easily.

And if I know anything about web design, this feature could be implemented in under a few hours.

Post if you agree....

I absolutely agree with this as well.  It could also be implemented further by allowing searches by price too-like ebay-highest to lowest and vice versa.  It would be a minor change that would help filter out what I really want to buy and help those, like me, who don't have all the btc in the world.

Sure, I like browsing through the listings but when I'm looking for a certain amount for a certain price it becomes laborious and time consuming to find what exactly I'm looking for!

I was just about to post the same thing, sorting by price would make it much easier. I've also noticed that people put listings in the cannabis section, but not in one of the sub-categories like "weed, edibles, etc.". I've found myself searching through 8 pages just to make sure I didn't miss a listing.

Sort by unit pricing would be cool too. By that I mean it divides the price by the number of grams/ounces/vials/kilos/whatever, to give you the price per gram, then you can sort by that. Then it's easy to see how the pricing scales down the more you buy.

Where it becomes hard is for stuff where the purity needs to be taken into account, ie 10 blotters of 200ug L is more ug than 10 blotters of 50ug L. So you wouldn't know to sort by blotter per $ or by ug per $.

I've been asking myself why this hasn't been done for awhile now.

Veetano and ozzybattla both have solid feature ideas. Please add them.

I agree. I would like to have the ability to sort by price or maybe countries in alphabetical order.
Edit: Also sort by weight, weight to price ratio. It would also be great to see a vendor comparison page with sorting options such as number of transactions made by a vendor (vendor could opt out of this if he wants I suppose, due to anonymity), positive feedback to number of comments ratio, average price to weight ratio, account age, etc.

The major one lacking is price sorting. There needs to be a way for people with certain budgets to be organized. ;D

I cant agree more to this one. It definitely needs an option to sort by price at least, and maybe a more complex search system so you can search for certain words or vendors? This should be the next major upgrade if you ask me.

I thought you could already search certain words and vendors' names???
