so I'd say best practices of using hidden tor sites is to not leave a trace of where you've been. personally I use an encrypted usb stick setup as a persistent volume with tails.
anyone have a better way of bookmarking hidden sites?

sorry no

OnionBookmark. You can store and tag your bookmarks, making them either public and sharing or keeping them for private reference.
Really, the only .onions you would want to leave no trace of are ones that are illegal or could associate you with illegal activity, such as SR. Stuff like Torbook, Tormail, Torchan, Tordir, and even OnionBookmark you can leave bookmarked in your browser.

I didn't know there was an onion bookmark- thanks!

I really don't see a need to bookmark silk road. I once read a thread in the forums about how different folks remember the site address and the one that stuck with me and I still use today was silkroad Visual Basic 5 Pizza (silkroadvb5piz3r). Hopefully that can help someone else as it has served me well for so long.

just erased my bookmarks

I store any relevant links in the entry for that site in my encrypted password database [KeepassX] (since even I don't know my own passwords for most sites). I use both the passphrase and physical key access methods together to be able to access them.

this onionbookmarks link (see below at maple) does not work
(anymore?)

Downloading Keepassx now great idea thanks from an newbie.

Well damn, last time I checked it was a while ago. It's had a couple stretches of downtime, it will probably be back eventually.

What about the 3r? I think your pretty much f'd if LE has your computer. I think the bookmarks will be the least of your problems.
my humble opinion and need to get the necessary posts....

I just use normal bookmarks which are stored on an encrypted drive along with the browser.
-
If you have LE looking at your computer, chances are you are already fucked. i dont think a bookmark in a browser will make things much/any worse
i have all my bookmarks right up top, sr, tormail, tordir, torlinks, onioncore, and these forums
-
I just keep them in a text file on an encrypted USB. I use liberte Linux, which works great for me.

Tails sounds like the way forward.

Short question, if I do only have the tor browser on my pc, will there be any useable information left on my pc if it is being "controlled"?
