Title: Finishing Early
Post by: shopper1888 on July 26, 2012, 02:08 am
First I want to say Hi to Everyone (my first post) and just say that I love the site...

I want to buy from someone who seems like a solid vendor but he want newbies (me) to FE.
I am confused about Finishing early as we are told
Quote
This behavior should be reported immediately
but it is obviously something that is very common on silk road and I understand some of the reasons vendors would want, or even need to do this, i.e. to untie some of the cash they have in product or stop idiots without a history complaining (falsely) of non-delivery -  it seems that, from what I have read, this is a big problem for vendors.  On the Other hand the honest members are at the mercy of some of the more unscrupulous vendors that decide, now and then, to rip new members off (this apparently, virtually does not affect their ratings).  This is where I am affected, being that honest new member.

Just how prevalent is being ripped of after FE?

Thanks in advance for voting and stay safe.

Selecting a highly rated vendor with a high transaction count, checking out his/her feedback (both on SR and this Forum), and keeping the purchase amount small should keep you out of trouble.  Once you've completed a few successful transactions, and left reasonable feedbacks, the requests for finalizing early should subside in most instances.  Reputation counts for a lot here -- for both buyers or sellers -- so developing a good one can pay off over time.

I'd say it's never safe. That is, if you do it you better not bitch if you get taken for a ride at a cost of few hundred dollars.

That said, it's not an uncommon practice.

I've only finalized early twice. Once with schizofreen, and another with SuperTrips. I'm not comfortable doing it. I've got a good record on SR, and at this point in the game I feel I should be trusted by vendors

Vendors who have had 35 successful transactions and have stayed the time required can ask for FE. Its allowed and if you don`t want to pay FE, don`t buy from the vendor its as simple as that. There is nothing more to add. Vendors get scammed every now and then as well and they don`t complain, so if they ask for FE its natural. If you have a problem it goes to SR customer support and things are sorted out there.

It's never safe, even top vendors can make selective scams, or worse, be forced out of business for whatever reasons, and decide to scam some people before they left for good. But with small amounts of money and trusted vendors it worth the risk, if product and price is good.

I would stay safe and not finalize early, ever.
