Title: How to encrypt a PGP message in Tails .20?
Post by: chaosmix on August 13, 2013, 03:36 am
I just switched from windows to TAILS. I am having trouble figuring out how to encrypt a PGP message using the gpg applet in TAILS. With the PGP app I had used for windows it came with a Clipboard. Im not seeing this on the TAILS gpg app. How do I go about encrypting a message using the TAILS gpg applet?

Tails comes with Seahorse for PGP. It's the clipboard on the top-right panel of icons.

Here's the link:

from the top left:

Applications -> Accessories ->gedit text editor (this is your clipboard)

System -> Preferences -> Password and Encryption keys (this is the keyholder (Seahorse, mentioned above))

once the key is added, you can copy/paste into gedit, then go to Edit -> Encrypt (or Decrypt), pick a key, and you are done!
