Title: what prevents a vendor...
Post by: murderface2012 on December 18, 2012, 12:24 am
What prevents a vendor from creating a buyer account and 'ordering' a shit ton of orders from his own account, and therefore creating a 100% perfect transaction history??

just curious??

Nothing really. Just the commission fee. I'm sure it is done.

Yea man, I saw that thread, I feel bad for you guys. That piece of shit made off with TOO much money. I'm not an experienced SR user, but ive been fucked over so many times IRL that I've promised myself that I will NEVER FE, I can understand how this dude made himself sound all nice and trustworthy though. I have some ideas about one or more users that might have been behind that but I'm not the kind of guy to make unfounded accusations....

there's a top 15% vendor doing it as we speak.

Its probably common.

You wouldn't care to call them out would you? I kind of feel like they deserve to be. Maybe faking feedback isn't quite as bad as actually scamming people, but if a vendor handles their orders quickly and professionally, there's no fucking reason they should have to fake feedback... I'm still fairly new though. Maybe this is standard practice and I'm making an ass out of myself. But if it is, it sure as hell shouldn't be.

Why not help out SR and let us know who he is?

Well, here it is what I have learned in the Cocaine-Section:

Business-Plan for Cocaine-Vendors (Heroin also):

1.   Make a vendor account
2.   Make yourself fake buyer-accounts
3.   Get yourself 10 junkies and let them create 10 buyer-accounts each on SR
(Now you have 100 accounts + your fake-accounts under direct control)
4.   Make some lovely pics of a white, fishscale glimmering, crystalline substance (or just make some copy&paste from the internet)
5.   Don’t forget to scrub the meta-data…
6.   Now introduce yourself as a new vendor and make a nice sample-offer: .2g for 1-2 BTC, shipment included.
7.   At this point you will get real requests
8.   Now fake the first transactions with your junkie-army
9.   PLUS send some real and good samples to some “Full Members” and “Hero Members”, from whom you know, that they have credibility in this community so that they will write an honest review for your stuff
10.   So let’s say now you have 5 real and good reviews of respectable “Hero Members” plus 10, 15 or 20 fake good reviews from your junkie-army.
11.   Now the ship gets movin bro: more and more bastards begin to crave for your stuff
12.   Begin selling good to acceptable quality to members with good and long buyer-statistic and sell the average stuff to new ones
13.   Slowly you start decreasing quality and here and there you can selectively start scamming new buyers
14.   For each REAL NEGATIVE REVIEW let your army of junkies (AoJ) post 10 GOOD FAKE REVIEWS (May the force is with the BIG NUMBERS! Repeat a lie often enough, till the people believe it more than the truth, which is obvious)
15.   When the ground starts to become too hot: make a lottery or a special Christmas offer to address the greed of the junkies: Rip so many as you can
16.   Delete your vendor account
17.   One week later: come back and start the whole process again with a different vendor name.

YOU CAN't BELIEVE NOTHING HERE !!!

Hulk

pretty much on target. you forgot the last part where they require FE for some reason for the last 50-100 orders and send NOTHING. Also vendors that sell other products do this same shit. My first order on SR i was selectively scammed by one of the top vendors. i understand why they do it, a noob is shitting razor blades with fear on the first order, and i would guess a large number assume the order got seized and never go back to SR again, therefore it makes sense for an unscrupulous vendor to try to maximize profit any way they can. This was one of the top vendors, they still are and still talk the same goody, goody shit they did 17 months ago. Good Luck

I have also been stung with this to the tune of around 1400GBP or 170BTC at the time.
Dude called Sullyyy - he had made at least one account and gave himself great feedback and reviews. He also used another "legitimate" account though which he must have used for some time before planning to scam, that was what got me to bite the bullet.
I should have realised because he had sold two custom listings to the other account he had and mentioned the name in the listing so it would show up on his feedback page. Total asshole.
I think he got around 5K GBP at least and this was only a week or so ago.
