With Sugar Mama being on vacation, I was desperate for coins..
I went to BTC buddy, a Bitcoin vendor who I've had success with in the past. I sent him a MoneyPak with over 600$ on it.
The next day he sends me a message saying he cancelled because the card had 0$ and asked me why I would give him a code I gave to another person....When I literally bought the card, sent him the code, and tossed the card in the bottom of a drawer, within 1 hour of purchasing the card...
EDIT: talked things over with him, he sent me the coin anyways after talking civily back in forth.
Extremely surprised by the professional practices he went through to ensure customer satisfaction. Only on Silk Road can you have issues pop up in a black market setting, and a compromise still be reached.
BTC buddy is definitely OK with me!!!

I gave BTC Buddy almost $5,000 worth of moneypak cards, recently (~1 day according to the inbox) and the cards currently all have a balance of $0 on it, my stomach is twisting a bit from all of the the nervousness/excitedness at the same exact time! I will update with how everything goes down :) I except nothing but the top notch service that everybody raves about though :)

yea he definitely tried to fuck me over about 7 or 8 months back. I had to beg for my money. he gave me they same runaround as you, asking a similar "why did you give the code to someone else?" or something along those lines, when i clearly had only given him the code. he is a selective scammer from my experience

Good God. That sounds so stressful! I don't understand what you would talk about with him if you clearly gave him the MoneyPak number. Does he come back with any legit reason regarding why he got confused and thought you gave him an empty pak? Scary. He has perfect feedback too... Sigh. Never know these days I guess. I'm using CoinXchange right now. Hopefully he stays straight like he's been so far.

When he gave me the money he said something along the lines of "I'll take the loss buddy, here's your coin"
I never got too aggressive. After a few times back an forth I explained there's no way anyone could've gotten the code. I thanked him for doing that, but honestly, this has changed my view on bitcoin vendors on SR as a whole, even though this is the first hiccup that's occurred.
I've only used BTC buddy and sugar mama in the past, both with much success, but I didnt even know BTC buddy was still around since i've been using sugar mama.

Do you really think he took the loss?
BTC Buddy used to be THE top moneypack vendor, then about a year+ ago he started to get some flak for bad transactions. He left/closed up shop, I had no idea he was back.
By the way BTC Buddy used to be the moneypack vending arm or Mcgillacutty(sp?) who used to be one of the top vendors on here, then disappeared and returned with a slightly different name.
My advise would be to avoid him, maybe others will chime in.

I got the paks to use with CoinXchange, but he said that he no longer deals with moneypaks, so I was kind of stuck with them and decided to go with BTC Buddy based on all of the good feedback hes been getting and the fact that he has been here for over a year, now he seems to be ignoring my messages, ill keep everyone updated

I don't think he took the loss. There's no way that Moneypak was empty, unless my SR account go hacked and they took the MP #. But even then, how would they know when to take it, I had the MoneyPak in my possession for about 45min before sending him the code, and he sent me the message saying it was empty MAYBE a full 24 hrs.
So the only logical explanation is he took it.
But what's fuckin' with my head is why would he give me the BTC?? Was it cus I calmly explained to him the reasons why its illogical that the balance was 0? I'm not sure. Either way, I got my BTC, and I learned a valuable lesson.
I'm not gonnna be messing with BTC buddy much anymore, and I'm still debating if i should even mess with BTC vendors at all.

Wouldn't it be stupid if he was just in a bad mood and decided to say something like that just to make you feel weird? SR is a weird place. I've done 3 successful transactions with this vendor: CoinXchange. Maybe you can try him... Totally up to you though. I myself am leery of anybody not named Sugar Mama, even though she charges a lot more. It almost makes me feel better that Sugar Mama charges a lot more--that's incentive for her NOT to do a runner... because her staying legit long-term is more of a financial boon than just doing a one-time runner.
Anyway, good luck!

i had a similar experience with sugar mama a while ago. i bought a money pack and set the code within an hour. she said the card was empty and to not send her codes that others have used. i was like wtf
after further investigation and actually calling money pak, apparently there was a glitch in the system where my funds weren't loaded onto the card? maybe that happened here? moneypak in my opinion is a crappy company
