Hi,
I'm wondering if anyone has had any troubles with packages shipped from Canada to the United States. How long does it usually take and is customs as strict as shipping from say, the Netherlands to the US? Thanks.

I've shipped plenty of mail from Canada to the USA and I've never had an issue with anything being searched or seized. Unlike the Neatherlands, Canada is not flagged as a "high-risk" country by the USPS.
Lettermail takes around 6-10 business days both ways. In my limited experience I've found that Canada -> US is faster than US -> Canada but I don't have any hard data to back that up.

I know that both Canada and the UK have very good ship success rates. On the other hand customs waits all day 4 the packages from the Netherlands. Even Mexico is not THAT bad. Who knows how many drugs are mailed through the US - Mexico border..........But thats not nearly as a big of a deal as the big bad Netherlands.
The US government should reevaluate the man power it wastes on packages from the Netherlands while hundreds of pounds of everything is mailed from Mexico 2 the US each day. But then again MDMA, LSD, good weed is far scarier than black tar, coke, and the meth that comes directly through that boarder via 18 wheelers filled with mail that could be staffed with all the dam customs people who open NL packages.

Out of ten-ish purchases from Canada, I've never had a problem receiving product, and it's never taken more than a week. Just my $.02.

Thanks for your responses, everyone! You were all very helpful.

On a scale of 1 to 10, how high would you rate Canada? There's so much weed in there, it can't be that low. Would NL be 8 out of 10? Columbia 10?

I have a question about Mail coming to U.S. from Canada. Is it true that if when usps delivers, if your not home you have to go Retrive it and sign for it? I thought if the put enough postage and mailed it, it would be like any other type of First Class Postage

If it fits in your mailbox, lettermail from Canada -> US is left in your mailbox. As far as I know as soon as an envelope crosses the border it is classified as First Class mail and handled exactly the same way.

It is good to read all these positive messages about receiving from Canada > US. I'm currently on day 12 I think not counting the weekends. Seeing this makes me less worried as I haven't read a single post about not getting packages from Canada. Keeping my fingers crossed.
