£17.42 per ฿itcoin?!
Fuck that. lol
-
i feel you
-
Why are they rising so much? It's relentless.
Any sign they'll drop?
Makes no difference anyway as sr prices go down as the btc rises in value
-
They're climbing due to the new technology that has come out in recent months that improve the ability to mine bitcoins. also, the reward for mining them got halved recently so this will be a much more permanent jump than when the Gawker article was released
-
If it's a semi-permanent rise, then hopefully SR prices will adjust accordingly.
I have noticed some vendors are making adjustments, but.. meh.. long way to go before things are stable, methinks.
-
The majority of it is because of speculation.
Just buy your BTCs a couple weeks before your order and you should save a bit :P
-
For SR/BTC vets, has it ever been higher than what it's currently at?
-
When I first joined, three-ish weeks ago, they were £9 ...hindsight is a wonderful thing.

$32/btc a while back, but that was because of the gawker article on SR among other things I believe.
For all we know we could be in the middle of a bubble right now...

They were $11.8 when I bought my first order off SR. I wish I bought more.
