Title: Review: NorCalKing's NL/BBTW & Pink Panther By ThEOVCollective!
Post by: ThEOVCollective on May 25, 2012, 08:29 am
Got a couple of treats sent our way via NorCalKing, NL/BBTW and a hefty sample of Pink Panther. Both were quite stellar products. The NL/BBTW was quite dense with some rather decent sized buds (some upwards of 1.5g), medium green in color, crystally as anything we have received up here especially under light. Smells range from peppery to almost a turpentine and berry mixture. Smoked and tasted smooth, after a few puffs a definite berry tone was noted. Overall, very pleased. Moving onto the Pink Panther, we can tell where it gets its' name from, the buds seem to have a pinkish hue to them. Smell was rather faint on this one, but citrusy and sweet. The smoke was sweet at times as well, packing quite a punch, creeping up on more than one of us. This is a definite experience, will be coming back for more of this girl. Quick shipping, 3 days from in transit. Packaging was good as well, no smell detected until final vacuum bag was cut open. All in all, a great job by NorCalKing. We will definitely be back for more!

Northern Lights/Blueberry Trainwreck
Smell: 5/5 (Almost too pungent at times)
Smoke: 5/5 (Thick, pine and berry flavored)
Bud Quality: 5/5 (Dense, crusty nugs. Perfectly dried and cured.)

Pink Panther *SAMPLE*
Smell: 4/5 (Amazingly sweet when we could smell it)
Smoke: 5/5 (Look for the sweet aftertones)
Bud Quality: 5/5 (Smaller buds, pinkish tone, crystals galore)

Yeah truly amazing packaging When you first open, you are assured NorCalKing cares about their safety and yours. I tried the arizona haze was pleasantly surprised. I could only imagine what his dank smokes like. Great shipping time. All around a great vendor. Anyone know where his review thread is though?

Received some samples from NorCalKing for review + pictures!

Communication:  I had talked to NCK via PM quite a bit prior to getting a sample while we were verifying that his PGP was set up and
good to go.  He was always very quick about responding to messages and we ended up on the same page, security-wise, after a handful of back and forths.

Score: 5/5

Shipping/Packaging:  I'm not exactly sure when the package went out, but I was pleasantly surprised to find it waiting for me in the mailbox yesterday.  So cross-country shipping speeds were very good if he sent it out when I think he did, and might even be better if he happened to wait a day or so to ship.  As far as packaging goes, I would definitely trust NCK to get nearly any amount to me without any worries about lack of stealth.  I won't go into any specific details, but there were multiple layers, printed labels and absolutely NO odor until the final seal.  Buds were slightly compressed, but sprung to life with a few hours with Mr. Lemon Peel.  Pro all the way!

Score: 5/5

Product:  Was blown away to find that I had FOUR different strains to photograph!  I expected just one, so this was a pleasant find.  I received samples of Titans Haze, Pink Panther, Granddaddy Purple and Blackberry Kush.  I've yet to try any out yet, as I wanted to get the buds refluffed before I take pics (which I should be able to do tonight!).

Going to update this section with pics and smoke reviews as I get to them.

Blackberry Kush

Aroma:  A soft, piney smell with a hint of pepper (I suck at these).

Smoke:  Smooth and thick, no noticeable flavors other than faint skunkiness.  The BBK burned nice and slow.

High: Happy and lazy.  A great after-work smoke when you just want to relax and kick back.  Was paired awesomely with a hot shower, followed by lounging on the sofa while playing D3.

Finally getting around to smoke report for NCK's samples!

First up is the Pink Panther.  Not going to go into a physical description, as the pics are just a few posts above.

After grinding up a hunk of the PP, I noticed a somewhat spicy aroma.  Maybe closer to sandlewood?  It was familiar and pleasant, but I could not put a finger on it.

Smoke was on the smoother side - was able to take a few big rips without coughing.  Not too much of a flavor to the smoke, but that's not my main concern as long as it's smooth enough.

The high was very heady and long lasting.  If you've ever seen a Guinness settle right after pouring, that is how my head felt about 10 minutes after smoking.  Almost like it was being tickled by a million hands, ha.

After a bit the buzz, crept down to my shoulders (relieving a ton of tension) but managed to stay in the shoulders/head for the majority of the high.

At first, the high was a little spacy, but once it settles in I believe you can be very functional on the PP.

Next up:  Blackberry Kush

Granddaddy Purple

I am such a slacker.  I waited until last for the Granddaddy Purple and only just FINALLY got to try it.  I am really pissed that I waited so  long!!

Aroma:  Damned if it didn't smell like a bunch of grapes - one of the best smelling strains I've had in a while!

Smoke:  Smoother than Billy Dee Williams dressed like Lando and holding an ice-cold Colt .45 in his hands.  Went down like a dream and left a wonderful grapey/floral aftertaste.  Great smoke!!

High:  A very, very heavy and relaxing high.  GDP is a perfect strain to unwind from a long day with.  Take a few puffs, grab some food and melt into the sofa for a couple hours.

Definitely my favorite overall strain from NCK!

Titans Haze

Aroma: Definitely picking up a lot of spicy notes with the TH - very pleasing.

Smoke: Thick, smooth and floral.  First hit was not tasty, as the flavor was somewhat harsh with only floral undertones, but subsequent hits were quite nice and you could really pick up on the flowery taste.

High:  One word - FOCUSED.  Everything that I did after enjoying the TH was extremely focused!  It was like I had tunnel vision and was unable to be distracted by anything except the task at hand.  I feel that if I were a student again, that I could easily blast out a research paper or some homework on TH.  Along with that came the usual cerebral stone that you get with sativas.

The Titans Haze is a great outdoor sativa and even better value on top of that.  I'm going to put the rest I've got away until I come across a task that requires the ultimate focus, ha.

Next up:  The one, the only - GRANDDADDY PURPLE!  Been waiting until last because the buds were too damn pretty to grind up first.

Score: 6/5

OVERALL:  NCK has been a pleasure to work with, and I see a bright future for him here at SR.  Keep up the good work!

SCORE: 16/15

Hello all.. Let me start of with saying that I have found my new Smoke Vendor On the road and in this review I am going to tell you why.. I will be rating on a 1-10 scale and will be covering as many aspects as i can.

Norcalking is a friendly and to me a relateable person. In this country it is hard for people to get certain medicines to help with there pain or problems and only certain things work for certain people... When Our conversation first started the communication was flawless sprinkled with friendliness.. He didnt treat me like another person that was just sending me something for a ego boost on here. He actually remember from a little while ago exactly who i was and how he could relate to my bad disc problems which is a shame because anyway you look at it back problems are a nuisance and one o the many things that calm my nerve muscle and back pain are good buds with medicinal properties... I have a hard time getting comfortable and staying comfortable. So we had sent some messages back and forth and they were all answered in response to my messages in less than 24 hrs i not less than 4 hours so he has to get a 10/10 for flawless fast and friendly messages the great 3 f's

Shipping was ease as well i am still waiting on some packages from the road from even a week beore i talked to norcal and his package came quicker than any of theres and that deinetly made me smile cause that means he has his shit together and doesnt make promises he cant keep unlike other vendors on the road so shipping times get another flawless 10/10

Packaging was one o the best that ive seen on the road and this goes without saying that some o the bud has an amazing aroma and without going into detail i checked each layer for smell and they all withstood the test of that. Also All the bud were perectly in tact none were smushed or crumbled... There was absolutely no shake at all which shows just how well the packaging was... a 10/10

I have only tested 2 strains and will be updating about the other but for the pink panther bud i would have to say easily a 9/10 for me The taste is very gratifying and leaves a great rich tasting smoke in your mouth and is not harsh at all... Light undertones of sweet musk and the bag appeal is frosty and amazing. Its Been cured quite well as the smell you can tell this... Very stinky in a good way!! The high is pleasurable and last quite a while for me the pain relieving efects and music appreciation are top notch on this bud its a new favborite of mine and is great!

The Grand daddy purple is some o the finest of this strain that ive had the buds are super dense rosty and a great deep lavender. It smells very sweet and leaves a great sweet tasting smoke in your mouth! I like this a nightime smoke as its sweetness is better than icecream or me haha. The bag appeal is amazing with tons of lavender tones and the buds glisten in the light and are perfect for me... This bud has been cured VERY well and it gets a 10/10 for me as i find from taste to its analgesic narcotic effect to be an amazing indica for my pain and sleepless nights... I slept like a baby last night...

I will be updating this review later today as i try the bbk nugs and will have a review on them and also the other strain as well so stay tuned!! NCK you are my new vendor for buds and all should feel confident ordering rom this man as his quality as a vendor and his product quality can NOT be beat!
