***TopSecret has contacted me, waiting for coins to come through. Hoping that matter can be resolved. If so, I will be deleting this thread***
I wanted to make this post since it now appears that both me and JORDZ are being screwed around by TopSecret's offerings to exchange btc for mp, wu, etc. According to JORDZ he is out $250 at the moment and I'm out $1870.
My story is that I arranged to do the exchange of moneypak for btc with him yesterday and he was great at communicating until I sent him the MP codes today. While there was a delay in sending it on my part, I notified him of the delay at the time we had originally agreed upon and established the new time I would be sending it at. When I did send the money to him at the new time I had notified him of, it took him about 4 hours to respond to me saying that he had just unloaded the MP and would have the BTC to me in about 20 minutes. Well, that message was sent to me nearly 7 hours ago now and I have tried sending him several messages, to which I have received no reply. None of my messages have been attacks against him but mere inquiries as to the situation finished off with the last message telling him that I will have no choice but to take the matter up with the community. I have tried to be fair and not jump to conclusions, but it's starting to look like I got bent over and fucked. I still hope that a resolution can be reached that leaves both me and him satisfied but for now this is the situation. I will update when anything new comes about.

I sincerely hope you get your coins back...but
I've never understood why people buy bitcoins through silkroad, there are numerous other legit services that can do it
And it seems to be the category with the highest scam reports, yet people keep doing it.
-
Thanks man and yeah I know I'm sitting here smacking myself in the head. In the end I can only blame myself, just was looking to get the exact value of the MP's into BTC for an order I had lined up. Plus, I'd done it before and it had gone smoothly for me in the past. Fuck me!

There's so many easy ways to get bitcoins like Bitinstant, buying btc off of silk road is like asking someone to scam you. Not trying to be hard on you or the other guy...just hate seeing someone gets screwed over and scammed :( sorry to hear this happened to you.

I'm still hoping that things work out but what busts my balls the most with people that do scam is just the total lack of consideration they have for others. They wouldn't want it to happen to them so why do it to the rest of us? This is a lot of money to me, it's not like I work one day to earn it. Fuck greed!

matter is being resolved, once a conclusion is reached I will update/delete the thread.
-
How is yours being resolved??? I'd appreciate a word in for me if you can also!
-
He messaged me last night saying he just got on and asked me to remove my negative feedback and would send the coins when I did so, so I changed it to a neutral rating for now. Still waiting on him to send me the coins, so I'm not out of the woods yet.
-
I was about to write something to the effect that he could lose his vendor account for holding your goods/money hostage for asking you to change feedback like that, but looks like the admins have already revoked it!
Hope you all are able to recover your funds, good luck...
-
I'm in the same situation as well, and was wondering if it had resolved for you. I didn't lose as much, but am definitely annoyed that this is happening.
-
Nope! Still on the hook as well as I've gotten no more responses or btc from him! Looks like we just got fucked massively.
-
i also made the mistake of buying btc thru sr. 13 days now waiting for btc.
big mistake when i look back now and realise how easy it is for any
vendor to screw u when u do this. never ever again.

I'd be curious to see a list of the different ways to obtain and cash out of bitcoin. I use bitinstant->SR wallet myself. I didn't know until recently that SR takes a cut of the pie when the money is deposited. I'm guessing vendors pay a commission as well. I'm sure this info is online just a matter of me finding it.
