Hi,
I opened up Bitcoin just as I usually have for the past few months and it fails to open and I get this message:
EXCEPTION: NSt8ios_base7failureE
ReadCompactSize() : size too large
C:\Program Files\Bitcoin\bitcoin.exe in AppInit()
Does anyone know how to fix the problem? Is there anyway of getting to the Bitcoins in the account?
I'd really appreciate a response as I have quite a bit in there.
Anyone who can, leave your Bitcoin address and I'll flip them a Bitcoin if it works..
Regards.

From the bitcoin wiki:
" Windows
Go to Start -> Run (or press WinKey+R) and run this:
explorer %APPDATA%\BitCoin
BitCoin's data folder will open. For most users, this is the following locations:
C:\Documents and Settings\YourUserName\Application data\BitCoin (XP)
C:\Users\YourUserName\Appdata\Roaming\BitCoin (Vista and 7)
"AppData" and "Application data" are hidden by default."
The wallet file is named wallet.dat and so long as this file is not deleted/stolen your bitcoins will be safe. It might be an idea to create a backup of your wallet just in case then reinstall bitcoin to see if it is a bug that has been fixed in later versions of the software. If the problem persists I would recommend a post on bitcoin forums for help. :)
