Title: Bitcoin vendors and PGP importance
Post by: goombajoe on January 04, 2012, 08:43 pm
Brand new here.  Just wanted to get opinions on your experiences buying bitcoins through vendors on SR.  I know it's a bit more expensive, but it seems that the expedience, and increased anonymity makes up for it.  Also, if I were to purchase BTC through a vendor, how vital is using PGP when messaging a Moneypak #?  Very new to this schpiel, so any help would be much appreciated!

Sorry if this has been beaten to death in other threads, but running through TOR is extremely slow for me.

You pretty much it it on the head, for your first time, it will cost you more, but on the other hand you can get your coins same day and won't have to learn how to anonymize coins coming from your bank or wait the 10 days it will take for them to make it from your bank to SR. So you can choose the easier/faster or cheaper option.

I don't think it's that important to PGP the MP# as PGP is mostly important for identifying information and assuming you paid cash for that MP# no can use it to identify you.
