I´ve ordered some special seeds with 15 - 20% morphine and now I´m looking for tips to do the best.
For good tips or ebooks I would! You also can write german to me.

Poppies are actually pretty easy to grow. As long as you keep the watered, but not constantly soaking wet, you should be fine.

I've found a great mixture of soil for them is 1/3 peat moss, 1/3 vermiculite, and 1/3 compost. That drains very well, which is good because poppies don't like to have their roots too wet.

Don't score the biggest two heads that you get. Let them dry completely, and save the seeds to plant later. You can improve your crop over time this way.

If you're worried about people noticing you growing a lot of poppies, plant them amongst other garden flowers.

Don't be impatient. You'll have the best results if you wait for the little crown on top of the green pod to point slightly down. If the points are pointing up, it's not quite ripe yet.

Be careful not to score the pods too deeply when you harvest the opium. If you cut it too deeply, most of the latex will just run to the inside of the pod where the seeds are, and you won't be able to get it.

If you have any specific questions, feel free to ask. I've been growing poppies for a few years.

Thanks for the quick answer and the tips.

A other question is when should I start to grow the seeds??

Opium For The Masses

It used to be an easily available e-book.  I think free on erowid or lycaeum or something.

I find poppies to be extremely picky.  Too much water = dead, too much sun = dead.  I've tried growing them every year for about 6 years and have yet to have any success.  I can get them to germinate easily, but usually right before they get to the point of getting leaves they go limp and die.  No idea what I do wrong.  I've tried so many different things and nothing helps.  The best luck I've had was growing them in an East facing window sill.  Unfortunately, they got to the point where I thought they were ready for a very tiny, tiny, tiny amount of miracle grow.  They were not.

When you start to grow them is generally considered to be after that last freeze of the winter.

poppies likes to grow in cold climate. I was growing them previously. I did nothing special, prepare field, trow seed here and there. done. no fertilizers or watering. all natural, opium was great always. quite easy to cultivate.
