Please assist me if you can. I can access the SR website after a few problems, but once there the category menu doesn't seem to take me anywhere except the "problem loading page". I overcame this issue by using the search option, but soon enough I run into the same dreaded issue "problem loading page". From what I read I don't think I'm alone but if anybody has answers to this problem I'm encountering, I would greatly appreciate any help.

-
Yup, I'm having trouble loading the site too...was trying to make my very first order :(
-
Also having problems... and its affecting my sales i noticed//
Hope this gets fixed soon..
For me Clicking on new identity a million times helps
-
Not loading for me either and took the forums a long time to load as well... I wonder if its just heavy traffic? I completely shut down tor, and left it off for 10 minutes, then could at least access the forum, still no luck with the main site though.

There are two things you can do:
1/ Optimize your Firefox browser settings
2/ Change OS to Linux
-
i've noticed some serious issues all day. problem loading page over and over
at this point it's simply not working at all... hoping it will get worked out!
-
Same problem, hopefully will be fixed soon, cant live without it!.
-
It started loading fine for me yesterday but now it's back to being down...hopefully it's fixed soon.
-
Oh i thought that was normal ;D.
Due to being too busy.
I have had this repeatedly this repeatedly..
Just refreshing a million times and after a while it comes back.
-
It usually also alternates between the forum and SR itself for me.
Like at this very moment :D.
Session 10.000.000 of continously refreshing SR is starting again due to not loading.
Perhaps they have some kind of maintenance going on.
Patience is a virtue:).

Hey when I try to open the Vidalia app to change the identity it says I need a password. Anyone knows what the hell I need to do. The app used to pop up when i launched Tor but all of a sudden it started asking me for a password. Thanks.
-
Yea I knida thought that had something to do with it but I can't figure out how to get Viladia to launch when I start Tor up now. It hasn't launched with Tor in a while. Should I just delete the whole thing and re download it?

I think I like this "issue," for new members will give up trying to access the site when in reality it just takes a few refreshes and if that doesn't work, you get a new identity. It is like an extra annoying layer of security but I bet it stops a lot of people from using the site. It just takes Tor some time to find an entrance node that has a pathway to the SR server. The key is patience and repetitive tries of new identities and waiting for Tor to open multiple connections to other Tor nodes. Sure its a bummer, but if it adds any sort of "security" to the site, I am all for it. You can look at the network map in Vidalia to see how many connections you have open, if I am not mistaken, the more open connections, the more likely you will be able to find a path to the SR servers. I also wouldn't be surprised if the SR servers even intentionally reject half of new connections during heavy traffic usage. It would be interesting to hear what the admins say about this (if they even want to).

This should tell you if SR is Working or Not on theyr end... It sees if the Site is "UP".... info was given to me last time it went down and its helped me a bit.... btw its been up and down all night

I agree, but I don't really think it is truly "down." I think they have some bandwidth limiter which rejects connections if the site is running near maximum capacity, adding to the difficulty in profiling the site's inner-workings. I am in no way involved in the backend of SR, but there has been very few times where persistence did NOT pay off and was unable to connect after many attempts.
-
How About this then.. I went to tor website and download an update that is a security feature or some shit and im back on SR... try it out folks
-
Users of "Windows XP" are largely unaffected by the recent DDOS attacks on SR and the SR Forums.
A copy costs nothing and its relatively easy to dual boot... 8)

Totally agree with Jackintherox although it was a bit annoying at first ive worked out the solution as mentioned and its a great security feature wether intentional or not..
Heres to a private SR where kids dont order. get caught and shine more light on the road which could lead fu#k knows where!

I have been using silkroad on my hand-held touch device via Torbot+Tor browser for a while without any issues. I purchased a new computer today and downloaded the tor bundle. When tor is connected on my computer I cannot access silkroad. Obviously i can still access it through my hand-held device, but i cant access silk road or the community forums from my tor browser on my computer, yet i can access other sites. It says "Unable to connect. Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at..." Thats what it says in my tor browser on my computer. This is a major inconvenience, and i desperately need a solution. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Update: i cannot access ANY dot onions using tor browser on my computer, although it says its configured for tor. Can ANYONE offer a solution?
