Title: Tor relay contribution
Post by: The Advocate on January 23, 2013, 06:20 am
Can I take a half dozen or so of chromebooks and have them run as Tor nodes throughout various random places in my city?

There's an idea similar to that, which involves planting plug computers such as http://www.plugcomputer.org/development-kits/dreamplug/ (http://www.plugcomputer.org/development-kits/dreamplug/) in random places around a home city, and using them as stealth-mode bridge relays or even hidden servers via public wifi in range of these tiny computers.

You can literally plug a plug computer into a random office or restaurant wall outlet, in an out-of-the-way corner, and they might not even be noticed, yet are fully fledged computers capable of acting as a bridge relay or hidden server.

It's pretty cool.

And not only can you use them as relays by having them run in relay mode your actually helping people around the world who have no voice in giving them access which their governments would kill them for ie getting the truth out so yeah it's a good thing to have as many as poss in this mode good looking out to ya
