Hi I foolishly placed an order providing my actual name/address and then only started wondering what PGP was used for (because I havent used it yet). Did I just ultimately screw myself in the ass or am I just being extremely paranoid like the other 90% posting on here with these situations.

Just paranoid. Sr info is encrypted anyway so an outsider can't sniff your info. PGP protects you against an Sr infiltration, that's it.

The reason we use PGP/GPG for sending our addresses to vendors is to mitigate the risk that SR is compromised or will be compromised. Of course if SR is compromised, there are a number of ways that SR administrators can get around this. Perhaps the easiest method is just to be in collusion with some of the vendors.
So, yes, it is better to encrypt your shipping details but you are probably okay anyway.
The best advice for everyone is to read about SR for at least a week before you jump in.
