Title: What the hell happened?
Post by: Drewington3258 on June 29, 2012, 09:01 am
Bitcoin client stopped working, cant even connect to the network. I dont think its anti-virus or firewall because it worked prior to the transaction which has over 15 confirmations. It sucks because now im stuck and i cant use my btc.

Maybe im being paranoid but could it be hackers trying to steal my coins? or LE intercepting the connecting.

Any help much appreciated.

You sure you did not change any settings? Do you have it going through tor on socks4a proxy?

If the bitcoin client crashed, or if you shut off your computer suddenly, then the bitcoin client databases can become corrupt, and in certain cases, unrecoverable. Last week, I lost power at my house, and as a result my bitcoin wallet became corrupt and I was unable to get my coins out. Fortunately, it was only .5 as I just sent some somewhere, but lesson learned: backup your wallet frequently. Is it giving you a specific error message? "I'ts not working" isn't all that helpful...
