Title: 2C's and Antacids?
Post by: swsc-12 on February 15, 2012, 10:29 am
Is it likely that an antacid like ranitidine or omeprazole to severely reduce or negate the effects of 2C's?

Antacids are actually positive since they will neutralize the pH level in your stomach, however it is possible that omeprazol will work less due to most 2Cs being metabolized by CYP2C19,  CYP3A4 and CYP2D6. Neither of those you mentioned are antacids, rantidine is a  h2 receptor antagonist (histamine) and omeprazol is a proton pump inhibitor.
I've heard from serveral  people they use Alka-Selzer to neutralize the stomach's pH to allow more of the drugs salt to get converted into free-base and thus allowing more of it into the blood stream.

So high tolerance is likely the issue?

It could be possible yes. Some people have natural high tolerance to 2Cs.
They also  tend to have cross tolerance with other 5HT2 agonists  (psychedelics).
Have you done a reagent test (marquis, mecke) on the compound?

I have not had the chance to do a reagent test on it yet. Waiting for the kit to come in.
