Title: Tor test went bad
Post by: wasta on September 03, 2012, 03:33 am
I did the Tor test.
One ""bad"" showed up.

My unique Identity / cache / e - tag

How do I resolve this problem?

Thank you damaged.

They pull of a very lousy job over at JonDo.

At ;
http://htmlfive.appspot.com/static/whereami.html
You can see where you are.

I have seen a ""tweaked "" version (software) where the permission to share is automaticly given.
So anyone who wants to see where you live, although you are using JonDo, can do so.
The user of the site thinks he is anonymous because of the Java Anon Proxy (JAP).
Dispites the university's the prof's the docters and those phd guys, I think it is nothing less then a scam!

Even though I can make myself appear to be in New York or Stockholm on the google map, I rather see that ""http://htmlfive.appspot.com/static/whereami.html"" is not able to see where I am, no matter if I give permission or not.
(Because that can be overcome trough the software tweak that gives ""your"" permission to share automatically for you.)

JAP comes close to the definition of a rogue.
Dodgy!

It doesn't matter. JonDonym is going to throw in all kinds of security issues to sell you on their service rather than Tor. The only thing e-tags can do is positively identify that the same person was on sites A and B. On their own, they can't deanonymize you. Also, as the site says, they are cleared when the browser cache is cleared, and the TBB only caches in RAM, so restarting it will clear all e-tags.

Unlinkability is one of the things Tor aims to provide, having sessions on site A and B linkable is generally considered to be bad.

Still...

I see on the networkmap on tor one end of the connection (the beginning) at my hometown.

If a authority has a tornode and is monitoring it (like wikileaks Assange did) they should be able to point me out.

The complete aerea do not have 1 miljon people.

That would narrow me down.

In combination with details they are gathering, they will definitly be able to point me out.

Since they can see what I am writing (like Assange) did, I am realy wondering if they could not catch me if they wanted to.

No matter if the onion comes out green or yellow (in wich case they know who you are) in the tor-test.
