Working fine here, try refreshing your tor identity.
-
Working fine here on my end.
-
Ok, working fine again after I updated my Tor browser bundle to newest version.
-
I'm getting this message now when I try to get on:
"The site is closed for just a few minutes. Please be patient and we'll be back up shortly"
This is what the url says: http://silkroadvb5piz3r.onion/closed.php
Also, the tab says "the silk road has moved"

That's just what it's saying for me, too. 5:15pm east coast time.
-
yup, no site access for me either
-
The site is closed for just a few minutes. Please be patient and we'll be back up shortly. <--- Maybe we should just give it some minutes.. I don't know. I just ordered something, so i hope it works out well and the site is back soon, or else ive lost some money on nothing. :s

The sites been shut down for good. Silk Road got pissed because everybody was beefing over the new fees system and did a runner with everyone's coin.

you know this for sure or just talkin from ur ass

I was gonna say the same. I highly doubt it.. also, If they where just gonna run, this would definitely not be the best time. Way better when alot more people come to this forum, and as of now, its not that many people here compared to what it will be. (I guess we are the double or even triple amounts of people in less then 1 year, maybe 2).

I read this and updated mine (finally), had some difficulty because I'm not a tech champ, and accidentally deleted all of my recently organized bookmarks, >:(

I can't even begin to imagine how flaky the site will be with twice the people -__-
-
hehehe! There's WAAAAAY too much money to be made for it to get shut down because someone is angry. when it's down, money isn't changing hands, commissions aren't made - they'll have it back up soon.
-
I need to check my order :/
Was there a reason why it is down, besides "maintence"?
-
At the risk of sounding like I'm bitching, I have to say, I wish SR warned/gave advanced notice for things like this. People run business around this website and IMO it is very unprofessional to have it go down like this with no warning. I understand this is an underground market so I have to set my expectations accordingly, but that doesn't mean you should leave people hanging like this with no accountability.
-
I can sympathize with both sides of this issue - If they expected down time to be just a minute or two, why go through the trouble of alerting people? problems arise and it takes longer than anticipated.... yeah, oops.
though members are for the most part a group of people not known for their patience! ;)
meh, whatcha gonna do? complaining won't fix it. ;)
-
I Second a "Heads-UP!" It would be nice
-
WTF?
I wanted to grab my remaining BTC and make an order or two and its been like this for hours! It's like the bank deciding to suddenly close and tell people to wait for a few hours without warning.
Thats all we need know..SR to scam everyone.
Jesus BTC will die i rekon..too much hassle in the whole thing..too much stress.

I've administered servers for a living for the past 10 years. You can log into a server with the intention of making one minor change, and have the issue somehow spiral out of control and fuck up all your shit. I'd say 99% of the time, it would be impossible to forewarn your userbase of downtime. If Silkroad was able to warn us every single time his servers were about to go down, that would make him a computer science genius, and he'd be capable of making millions of dollars doing other projects and wouldn't need to bother with this drug trading shit.

Does sever depression effect anyone else during times like this?
I'm so depressed atm. nothing coming in, nothing to look forward too. Just a shitty sad feeling.
Hey man, I know life can be really really difficult but just think of yourself and try and relax for the moment :)

-
Maybe they are fixing the issue with the PINs that people have been experiencing today?
-
Yea, it's currently down for me as well.
-
Back up here!
-
I am one sad panda, I ordered a few things last night, a couple hours later I get a blip saying SR will be down for a few minutes, then about half an hour later it said a few hours, now I can't even get online. I have tried refreshing my identity, and even using the old url.
I hope that SR comes back up, I was planning on donating today.
|| As a side note, the Silk Road admin should hook something up on the market to buy a donation of ~50 cents, then we as buyers could use quantity to donate. Just a suggestion. ||
-
SR is back and working sufficiently. all the soothsayers who attempted to perpetuate its fall and demise: you have failed. the road lives, don' t think otherwise.
-
Aaaaand... back down again! Hopefully, this is to help with the PIN problem a bunch of people seem to be having.
-
i'm hoping new seller accounts are also enabled when the site comes back up
-
Back up for me also! Just placed two orders...
-
well it ain't back here!
I've been reloading all day. At some point the page banner changed from "the Silk Road has moved" to "the Silk Road is down for sheduled maintenance" and the body changed from the "longer than expected may be a couple of hours" to " We are closed for mainenence for a few minutes. Please be patient and we'll be back up shortly."
I haven't been able to log in since 22.22 UTC yesterday. Clock's also weird - 6hrs behind UTC.

After restarting vidalia I can connect (multiple identity refreshes didn't help).
Is it possible the "outage" box is still up and running and advertising the hidden service to some relays?
