Title: TedDanzigSR Review Thread
Post by: ShamuTheOrca on July 19, 2013, 06:17 pm
Hey, all, I recently bought three ID's from TedDanzigSR (http://silkroadvb5piz3r.onion/silkroad/user/b2e1b93742) and wanted to write a review and my experience with him.

First off, I'd like to say that Ted's customer service is great. He upgraded my shipping to express for free, and he worked with me while I had complications with my drop. I had went on vacation so I ordered the ID's to my girlfriend's house. I've had stuff go there multiple times, but I'm always a little hesitant because if you want things done right, you gotta do it yourself. Anyway, it was shipped out on Saturday, supposed to arrive Monday or Tuesday. It didn't arrive Monday nor Tuesday, so I contacted him again asking if I could have the tracking number or if he could track it. He tracked it, said it arrived Tuesday. That's strange... so I called my girlfriend up and said it showed Tuesday. Well, she was in her house looking out for it and nothing arrived. She didn't even have the slip of paper that they normally leave if you miss a package. So I told her to go to the post office immediately and give them her name, address, etc. Post office couldn't locate it and said if they had the DCN, they'd probably find it. I asked Ted for the DCN, he gave it to me, I gave it to my girlfriend, and she went to the post office next day and retrieved the package. Big shoutout to Ted for working with me and having the patience while I tried sorting my end out.

On to the ID's, they're flawless, except they have one major flaw: they don't pass the bend test. Story time.

My girlfriend's ID got taken away because it creased when bent. Apparently they bent it from end to end, and it stayed bent and creased. They told her, "Sorry, it's fake. It's fine, but don't come here again."

She called me after this happened and told me the story. I didn't believe her at first because Ted's website shows the "bend" test but that's about as far as it will go before it gives way. I decided to bend mine to see, and sure enough, it did.

ID's are totally worthless now. One taken away, one creased, and another friend still has hers. Damn, obviously upset that I wasted over $500, but what can I do about it now. I'll update this post with pictures.

Not talking shit, but just wanted to let you all know that it does NOT pass the bend test. And goes to show that it doesn't matter how good it looks if the other crucial aspects aren't up to par.

Onto actual pictures now.

As you can see, the ID's look phenomenal! You can't tell they're fake at all by just looking at it. I compared it to a real Ohio ID, and the real ID looked like the fake one... The fake even looks great under a UV light.

HOWEVER, upon bending the ID, problems arise... All creases are marked in red.

Bend test (tip to tip):

Upon releasing the ID, it opened up and stayed at a 90° angle:

Opening up the ID, you can see the crease even clearer than before:

Putting the ID on its side, you can see the bubble formed by the crease perfectly:

I tried to flatten the ID out as well as I could, but the crease was unfortunately still present:

Now, you see, the problem doesn't lie with the card itself. I took off the hologram laminate, and the card looks amazing! No damage to the card was done by the bends.

Let me go on the website and see what the site has to say about the hologram laminates: "The holograms used are sometimes referred to as "premium" or "crease-proof" - meaning they are inteded to be able to pass the so-called bend test."

Excuse me, if the laminate is crease-proof, then why is it still creased even when it's off the ID?:

I'm so disappointed that this happened when I'm paying such a premium price. I paid $205 per ID (when custom signatures were $20) and expected the ID to be nearly identical. And for it to fail for such a silly thing....

Overall, will I buy a few more ID's to replace these two and some for my friends? Yes, I will. BUT I will just be careful as to where I go with them and hope none of them try bending the ID's. My girlfriend was in Ocean City, and it's no surprise why they bent it there. It's the beach, popular area where states all around will come in, so they check for fakes more often. Still disappointed nevertheless.

Just be careful as to where you go with these!
