Stories like this have been popping up in Australian media for about, well since the big bucks bust the bank in 2008 (was it that long ago -and why aren't we done yet?) ... what the meeja can't wrap their minds around is that these stories become self-fulfilling prophecies, or maybe the editor is a roadster, and is working from within to undermine the status quo! ;D
If you can't be arsed reading it, they're basically saying drugs in Oz cost up to eight times more due to the buoyant economy, cartels moving away from depressed everywhere else, and exploding demand.
The mind boggles at the LE seizure claims. I'm thinking the cartels don't just ship *one* big load at once, they probably have a massive 'spoilage' factor built in when they ship. or maybe not, since if the place was really awash, maybe prices would come down? but then again, Australian pay too much for everything... just because that's the way we've always done things down here... Much like the Brits :)
