When I load up the usb 1st time and it asks me to created a pass code it doesn't let me type letters or numbers so I have to press enter for all pass codes and end up with my usb not being protected. Is there A way I can fix this? Thanks

What do you mean? Its obvious the keyboard works if you can press enter.. so did you put the cursor over the box? Any addition information would help explain it.

Yeah I tried clicking and typing everything and only enter worked

Is there a way I can create a password while on the OS?

It may not look like it's typing - but it is! No '****' will appear. That's normal.
Just type whatever password you want & press enter.
Let me know if that works ;)

Didn`t it mention any 'failed processes'? Also here`s a guide: http://dee.su/liberte-security

Your best bet is probably to delete the 'otfe' folder. It contains your encrypted volume, and if there's no otfe folder, it creates a new one and asks you to set a password for it.
if there's sensitive data on the volume you want to keep, then restart the OS, immediately 'logout to shell', then push control-alt-F2 to switch to the root terminal and type 'okroot'. Then, from the same root terminal, type 'cryptsetup luksChangeKey /mnt/boot/otfe/liberte.vol' and you can change your password. There won't be any stars though, just type the passwords anyway. Make sure you use a secure password.

Right. Liberte Linux doesn't show anything to indicate that you are creating a password. Once you've created that password and you restart Liberte Linux it will ask you to type in the password you created. As you type, the cursor will not move. It looks like nothing is happening, but the operating system is taking your password as you enter it.
