Title: newbie question
Post by: againstparadigm on March 30, 2012, 11:26 pm
So I placed an order a few days ago, with a seller who has an really really great rating.  They require early finalization.  I am fine with this, based on what ive read on the forums and in their reviews.

My question is my order still says "processing" and there is no finalize link.  Now I assume this means the ball is in the sellers court.. and I just have to wait.  I can assume that the seller is probably fairly busy with all their orders, and maybe just hasnt gotten to mine?

I dunno... sorry to sound like a total newb, but until I have had at least one successful order go through here, I really dont know what to expect.  Id hate to bug the seller with a stupid newbie question, so I figured id post here.  Is this somewhat normal for it to stay processing for so long, if a seller is dealing with alot?  I saw that they have logged in everyday, and their reviews are full of tons of "finalizing early"

Am I missing something?

Thanks!!

If the seller is reputable, you are probably in good hands.  Busy sellers often take a couple days to process orders, so nothing to worry about there.  If after something like 96 hours the seller still has not shipped, you'll have the option to cancel the order.  If you choose to do so, you'll get a refund, and lose a couple coins due to SR commissions, but it won't affect your buyer stats.

Thanks for the reply and information.

So I am assuming right, that the finalize link will appear later, and I cannot do it yet?

I have no intents of canceling the order, they are a top rated no negatives and tons of transactions..

You can only finalize after the seller marks the order as shipped. You can only cancel after a week has passed since you placed the order and it still hasn't shipped. If it has been marked as shipped, you can't cancel, but you can click "resolve" to try and get a refund if the package doesn't arrive and you believe it to be the vendor's fault (as opposed to the post system fucking up or customs confiscating your package, for example).
