so far ive been using bitinstant but i can only do 500$ at a time. is there any easier way to put bitcoins on the silkroad? what do u guys use?
-
To help out newbs, I wrote a bitcoin basics guide--for buyers--which tells you, recipe-style, how to ANONYMOUSLY buy bitcoins using cash, and then transfer bitcoins to the Road, with a total time of 2-4 hours.
The services involved are bitinstant and MtGox. The guide is current as of May 22nd, 2013.
The guide is designed for buyers, not vendors, and it assumes no previous knowledge or computer skill.
Order the free guide at:
http://silkroadvb5piz3r.onion/silkroad/item/d05b9deccc
The reason the guide has to be downloaded is that it is a PDF. It's clean, well-formatted, and as easy to follow as a recipe. If I were to post it on this forum, it would be a long and hard to follow.
I'm not selling it; I'm giving it away. The reason you order it from me is so that I can gauge how much interest there is in this topic, and start to establish myself as a reputable vendor. I've been a buyer for a long time but only got my vendor account recently.
I've used the procedure outlined in this guide dozens of times with no problems.
Happy Trails!

I use bitinstant myself... I go to a bunch of walmarts/gas stations if necessary.

NEVER DOWNLOAD a PDF or any other file using TOR.... I wouldnt download anything found on SR. I wouldn't even go to a link on SR which is why I do not copy any links in my messages. Not even to my user name. Not that i'm concerned but any with common sense should know that a phisher will get your info and use it to their liking...
BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU DO WHILE TRAVELING THIS ROAD...

Doesn't bitInstant --> MtGox involve a minimum 3.99% fee?
-
Someone in the US should seriously give consideration to providing a cash lodgement / transfer service for non-US people. I would do it if I were there myself!
-
I personally use bitinstant and put the transfer into my mtgox account and then transfer it to an ewallet and then into my SR account to make it even harder to track. This is one of the best methods IMO.
-
CannaConnection1, that sounds like a perfect option, but I understand US clients can make cash lodgements at bank locations and transfer from there. This is something not readily available in the EU or elsewhere (although we do have SEPA), but somone in the US will setup a 'lodge your cash' service at some point and make a fortune!
-
Would someone explain "cash lodgement?" Did a bit of googling, but I am not seeing a quick explanation.
-
xtmg, the process I was referring to is the one below:
http://betabeat.com/2011/12/deposit-cash-at-bank-of-america-and-get-bitcoin-thanks-to-bitinstant-and-trustcash/
It may well be the case that since the recent Dwolla accunt freeze, that it may not be as simple in the US as I previously thought. Correct me anyone if I am wrong.

Campbx does the same thing as MtGox. Typical pathway is:
(Put in a request for transfer through Dwolla) -> (Bank sends funds to Dwolla) -> (Dwolla confirms transaction and forwards to exchange)
Profit. :)

www.virwox.com is pretty easy to use and fast.. have had good success..
Buy Linden using paypal. then Linden to Bitcoin then transfer to your wallet then to SR.
-
Ah, ok. You guys are state-side. Here in the EU we have to take other approaches. Not too complicated as yet, but no doubt they will make them so in the coming months.

From JumboMonkeyBiscuit:
NEVER DOWNLOAD a PDF or any other file using TOR.
You're absolutely right. When someone orders my PDF, I now warn them to be sure to download the PDF on Clearnet. Thanks for pointing that out!
For the person who asked about the 3.99% fee for bitinstant; you're absolutely right. But I've used this system a long time, and for me, 3.99% is worth my safety and anonymity.
As far as the $500 limit, I'm lucky to be located near a CVS and a Wal-mart, so I make out one Moneygram for each. See my free guide for more:

WHOA did you say access the link using clear net???????? Sounds like the perfect tracking opportunity to me.... DO NOT EVER EVER copy a link found on SR and then google search it..... You are linking yourself to SR and the info found within...... IS THIS MAKING SENSE......

One would have to be crazy to do that. Better to download the pdf with tor, and open it in a virtual machine with no internet access - or strong 'tor only' firewall rules!
If you do that to help the community, why not simply copy and paste the content of that pdf file as a forum post?
Cheers :)
-
It should just be a thread that states what she wants us to read..... There is a reason for not just posting it outright....
-
If I have the time to do it, I've found coinbase to be the most legitimate of the online bitcoin exchangers. However it does take four days to process a transaction. When I'm in a hurry to get coins in I go the bitinstant to MTGOX route.
-
I'm happy with Localbitcoins.com
It takes a while, but there no other "Company's" how takes a fee.
But don't forget to clean your fingerprint with Multiply Bitcoin Addresses.
-
Yea PDF and TOR do not mix...
Also am a litttle confused as to this whole "cash lodgement" thing
-
Bitinstant, So easy, even a caveman can do it.

3RD PARTY SELLERS

WHOA did you say access the link using clear net????????
I've taken down that listing and created a new listing. The new listing is simply free information, NO DOWNLOAD. And if it were a download, it would be through Tor. My mistake in thinking there was no danger in using ClearNet to access a document, simply because there is nothing illegal in the document.
The new bitcoin info is now at :
http://silkroadvb5piz3r.onion/silkroad/item/2f9f85aa35
There is nothing to buy, and nothing to download. The guide is designed for buyers, not vendors, and it assumes no previous knowledge or computer skill.
View the information for free, and if moved, donate!
The bitcoin scene changes frequently. By putting this info in a listing, I can update it in one place rather than in many forum posts.
Enjoy,

Simply buy your Bitcoins at www.Bitcoin-Brokers.org
Pay at MoneyGram with NO ID.
Bitcoins are sold for 2% BELOW MtGox...cheaper than Bitinstant.
Available in every country as compared to Bitinstant which is basically just for the USA.
Additionally you can sell your Bitcoins back to Bitcoin-Brokers for a cash pick up at MoneyGram without needing to show ID...totally anonymous.
