Title: Wallet question?
Post by: YAYO JONES on August 16, 2013, 12:16 am
Took a break from browsing, had to make sure I updated to the new browser, still have not made my first purchase but hey safety first..was wondering if anyone uses coin base? are they a good choice for buying BTC. I heard you could buy using a bank account. Do you guys think that would be a good idea or no?

I wouldn't use coinbase If I were you. They are legit with low fees but it takes a week for your first transaction and when I waited a week they cancelled the transaction 10 minutes before I was supposed to get my btc. So I waited a week for nothin.

Coinbase is legit, and 30 days after your first purchase the bitcoins hit your account instantly

IMO use several different btc vendors, not just coinbase, go through localbitcoins.com, it's like SR with independent vendors, the coins go into escrow and are released when your money is verified by the seller. Use a different vendor and method to transfer btc every time. Use cash deposit, WU, moneypak, wire transfer, etc.

The key is to have multiple ways to buy and store bitcoins. LE looks for patterns, therefore you must appear to have no patterns because you have many patterns.

It is perfectly legal to own bitcoins at the present time, just act normal and say it is an investment.

If at all possible avoid coin services that require you to identify yourself. Localbitcoins is the way to go for now.

Hey ThaMiddleMan, where can we find you?

Yeah, Coinbase can take forever, it's a one man operation from what I can gather. I have an account but never used it b/c of all the delays I heard about.
Bitinstant is great, if they ever get back up and running again.
