Title: Clear-net website + server + encryption?
Post by: Bordermolethesecond on April 26, 2012, 12:52 am
This might seem like skool kid stuff to some of yous but if you had a clear-net website selling various products we all like.
a) What country would you need your server to be in so USA and European authorities couldn't touch it.
b) What way would hosting + server encryption work - what would you need etc
c) Assuming it was hosted in a country they couldn't touch, what methods would they likely employ to try take it down.

& just in case all of y'all is wondering why I'm wondering about all this madness, its because well some ppls IQs don't stretch as far as onions and TOR.

USA got the almost total control of the DNS worldwide.
If it's in the clear-net, it's close to be impossible for a site to avoid an action on the DNS by the US government.
That's why this one is on TOR, cause TOR 's got its own DNS server.

Can a more computer savvy user confirm that?

I had a server with PRQ for quite a few years with ~30TB of warez and copyrighted material,  had notices from the big MPAA etc but it stayed on with no issues.
