hi there,
I downloaded and installed GNU PA 2 days ago and created my key as instructed on these forums. Today, i got my first encrypted order.
I coped it in the clipboard, pressed decrypted and filled in my password. A loading bar came up for a second but right after i got a message;
Error in operation result, No valid UTF-8 at position 9. I tried it a few more times, but kept getting that.
When i try to encrypd a random message here on the forums, i get "general bug" the system will try to recover
any help? need to send this order asap :/

thanks!
I'm afraid its an issue with the block then, in cp i'm getting: can't open no such file or directory.
Should i just mail the guy that the block is wrong?

Make sure that there are FIVE dashes, i.e. ----- both before and after the BEGIN PGP MESSAGE. The same goes with the END PGP MESSAGE.
Even if just a single one of these dashes is missing, the message can fail to decrypt, or the key to import.
Also, if you're using email, look out for quoted-printable characters. PGP/GPG will sometimes complain about quoted-printable characters in a message. If you get such an error message, look for characters like: =20 (space) and =3D (equals).
Strip out the =20 and 3D in front of the = sign, and you rmessage should decrypt normally.

Guru, can you name anything else to look for?

Okay then can you name any auxiliary, extra, insignificant, minor, secondary, subordinate, subsidiary, unimportant ones please? :)
I'd like to learn.
