Title: Public Wifi with Linux Liberte
Post by: TeamMoney on October 02, 2012, 05:16 am
Hey
I am trying to use linux liberte with a public wifi like one at Starbucks. I can connect to the att wifi but when I try opening .onion sites or .com sites nothing happens. It doesnt bring me to the starbucks page to Accept the terms.

So what I did was used the unsafe browser mode to try to open a .com page and it directed me to the starbucks login. I accepted the terms and then went back to the regular Epiphany browser and then was able to connect to whatever .onion sites I wanted.

My question is if it is safe to browse this way. If I connect to a public wifi by using the unsafe browser and then browse on Epiphany, am I compromising myself?

Is there a different, more secure way to connect to public wifi using Liberte?

Thanks

I'm guessing if you didn't use real info on the sign in, you should be fine. But I'm not an expert.
