Im looking into mailing some stuff, and I dont know anything about vacuum sealers, so any input would be VERY helpful!

Something i have NEVER seen mentioned here is WHAT TO USE THE SEALER WITH.
Polyethylene, the common plastic bag material, ALWAYS ALLOWS PERMEATION. There is no PE that does not! End of story.
POLYPROPYLENE has the potential to be a BARRIER FILM. You usually see this as very clear, crisp, crinkly plastic film. If you look in bag catalogs you will find different kinds of PP, some multilayer, that are FDA certified and guaranteed moisture and vapour barrier.

Ive had great experience with the food saver. Its $150 at Wal Mart and it includes free bags. But its very loud. I would love to find a quite vacuum sealer.
