Title: A Little Concerned - Australian Vendor
Post by: Come At Me Bro on May 21, 2012, 08:11 am
I recently put in a small order with a new local vendor, who's name I won't mention, just in case I'm being a little premature in my concern, the communication was great, up until Friday arvo, when he asked me to resend my address as he had suffered a power outage when transferring addresses to a USB... So I resent my address, using PGP of course, have yet to hear anything since and his profile says he has not been active for three days, I also sent a message asking on the status of my order to which I received no reply.

No while this in itself is perhaps of no great concern, I have just checked his profile and he now has no listings, yet curiously his account is still listed as inactive for 3 days. This has me somewhat worried, so if any SR experts could shed some light on how this could be possible, what might be going on or any precautions I should be taking it would be greatly appreciated.

I myself would worry about having to resend the address, yet the fact that it was still encrypted should shed some comfort. I would just wait it out and see how things go. But just as an overly-paranoid precaution, I'd clean the house for a few days.

Cheers for replies, house is clean.

I thought the resend was a little odd, probably should have trusted my instincts. The order was tiny, so I'm hoping there won't be any issues, but with all the media attention recently you never know.

With the hammer being swung at you Australians, I'd be leery if asked to sign for the package (if it shows up days from now). I'd say you have no knowledge of a package coming and tell them to return the package back to the sender. That is, if the vendor has no communication with you from now on. I would contact him/her to see what's going on though.

Same here OP. I am pretty sure you cant get busted in Australia for ordering something (especially small amounts of weed that would be a cautionary offense at best). More than likely he is a new vendor and didn't realize SR deletes an address after the order is marked in transit, for some reason he marked the order in transit straight away before posting it. As long as you didn't FE with him you should be fine.

Yeah cheers, definitely won't be signing for anything as that would be highly irregular and most certainly suggest something is up. Tried contacting the vendor today and no reply or account activity.

Seems like a reasonable explanation, hopefully you're right, best to err on the side of caution though. And no didn't FE.
