Title: Thoughts on captchas..
Post by: Leitan on July 11, 2013, 01:09 am
While verifying captchas over and over while posting, i've been wondering how much human time gets lost on those things.

Then I remembered Google's reCaptcha : while you read and write two words, the first one is the real test and the second one is a word from a book that the scanner couldn't read. The idea behind being : "why waste 10 seconds why you could help getting books online ?", which sound quite appealing.

But then I realised.. that they're telling you to waste 10 seconds as usual, then work 10 seconds for free for Google's benefits. Shitty, isn't it ?  8)

And BTW, am I the only one thinking the letters in SR forum's captcha are not really random ? I keep getting a lot of A B G and K over the other letters ! ^^
