Title: Instawallet Alternative?
Post by: MKultra on April 21, 2013, 01:03 am
I'm looking for a good alternative to instawallet. I liked instawallet because I could use it to send deposits to a few times before transferring BTC into, or sending out of SR. What are you guys using now?

Also need an answer for this as I'll be buying coins in next day or two. I saw https://blockchain.info/wallet being offered as an option on another site, but I don't know if those people are concerned with anonymity. Is there another wallet service that does not require an account?

If not, is the blockchain link a viable option? Would it be good idea to sign up through TOR, or would that flag it somehow? My instinct is that I can sign up on clearnet, and access the wallet using my phone, because SR encrypts any deposits (keep in mind I'm only buying small quantities of items, and the prospect of anyone actually tracking my coins is very unlikely). But it does sound more risky than instawallet...

Apologies for my ignorance, I was comfortable with instawallet so didn't need to know this stuff. Any advice will be appreciated. I am in the UK if that somehow matters.

You could always set up an account with BTC-E and get a wallet from them.

Depending on how you want to route coins, you don't really need another wallet, particularly if you have the option of deposit-to-coin address (like Bitinstant).  SR tumbles the coins automatically before depositing them into your wallet.
