Title: have I been scammed by exchangeservice?
Post by: hannelore on November 18, 2011, 05:56 pm
Hello,

I wanted to change cash to bitcoins going through a UKash voucher, so I bought one of those for £130, arranged to change it with exchangeservice, and gave him the details of the voucher so he could access its funds and send me bitcoins. I haven't received the bitcoins, and I'd like to know if I was very stupid in trusting him to send them to me. I don't see how it could have been done through an SR listing as I didn't have bitcoins in the first place to pay. I haven't seen instructions anywhere about how to change money with an exchanger.

I last heard from exchangeservice 8 days ago. Have I lost £130?

I don't want to assume anything so can you clarify if you've checked the voucher's balance online?

madamebradley, yes, I did. Maybe he's ill and genuinely hasn't been able to get online. Still, not happy :(

I can not really believe that he scams. I mean he like a bank and a few bucks dont really makes sense. Never had problems with him.

But it sucks if you have to wait for it. How long do you wait, have you waited?

After his troubles with ukash I left him alone for some time. A week ago I placed a small order for a paysafe card (€50) just to try it out. He has not touched that order. I sent a PM three or four days ago asking whats up, that's never been read. Don't know what he's up to, since he logs in almost daily.
Would like to continue doing transactions with him, but I'm never releasing early for him again.

To update this thread: I've heard nothing from exchangeservice, and received no bitcoins. Conclusion: he did scam me. :(

Piss, I hope he isn't a scammer. I'm meant to have some hash on the way but it's been 10 days which is when I start to get nervous. Money's still in escrow so all good but I'd really like my hash! Would be good if some buyers could check the forums occasionally and reply when people have concerns.

hannelore: Can you please double check the balance of the voucher and report the balance here, plz?!
If the money till says 130Pf - every is fine.
He has a very high reputation as a SR Seller 95%, which is great!

And like always: SR offer escrow, use it, plz! Never go around the system of SR - it helps SR to offer better service and protects you!

Just out of interest, how long should I wait before clicking resolve? I know orders auto-finalize after 17 days, but I don't know how long resolution takes and I'd rather keep my buyers accounts at 0% auto-finalized. Exchangeservice hasn't replied to my message from yesterday. Been 12 days now.

I also ordered some weed from him and its "in transit" for a week now, which is pretty long inside germany...
Just a small order, but annoying anyway  :-\

<edit>:
I have to excuse myself, as I received the order today!

wowzers: Yes it auto-finalize after 17days. After 12 days, 5 days before the end, it gives you the option to put it in the Resolution. Just use the Resolution and write "order did not arrive till now - I ordered from xxx" and extend it 3 days or with a close weekend 5 days.
This will show up to the Seller as a open order and you are okay for the next 3-5 days.

Because it close to Xmas, every Seller is very busy, about 20-30 msg and 10 orders a day. So give him some time to replay to you.

Hope that helps and good luck with exchangeservice.

ive had 4 orders finally cancelled by him one i lost 50% of my money coss he too fucking lazy to process my order and BTC crashed, but i see he logged in every day for days then cancelled with some bullshit excuse.

And he still continues to list items that he cant/will not process. Why?

450$ master card - he lists hes got none
1000$ LRD - he lists, but youll be lucky hes cancelled this 3 times with me

Another to avoid now, hes past his sell by date.

i've got a problem with the exchangeservice, too. ordered some of his afghan, finalized early (i thought that could speed up the process, it was 3 days before christmas), but nothing arrived yet. usually a shipping with the DEUTSCHE post arrives within germany in 1-2 days...

i wrote several PMs but did not receive any answer.

@wowzers: did you order arrive the last days?

Hope everything works out well at the end.

over_done_soup: If the seller hedges the fund and you hedges the fund, there should be a max loss of 4%. And to say it is the right of every seller to react a order.

@thainutte: it's the same here. i also did several transactions in past without problems and the shipping arrived in 1-2 days (from germany to germany). it's now 10 days ago that exchangeservice put the "in transit" status, but nothing arrived... and he is still ignoring my PMs.

My hash did finally turn up after 17 days. It was a reasonable smoke but exchangeservice is going to have to improve his mail times and responses to PMs.I had 4 packages arrive quickly from Germany to UK through December including from relatives who sent mail on the 19th which arrived on the 21st so the Christmas period isn't an excuse. I also don't like the way that he can double his feedback rating by having the shipping charge as a separate order...

Probably wont order again   :-\

Ah shit why didn't I read the forums before ordering???

Was dazzled by the 500+ feedbacks.

Domestic shipping should be 2 to 3 days. 10 days and counting....

I have the same problem with Exchangeservice. I ordered some Weed at 24th  April, shipped April 26th  and nothing arrived until today (May 6th) .Absolut no reponse from ExchangeService.
He doesnt answer my mails.....
Normaly it takes 1 day to send a package from germany to germany.Im sure that was a bad deal.

status: in transit
seller: ExchangeService(97)
item: 5g Santa Maria
quantity: 1
shipping: Germany
ordered: April 24, 2012
shipped: April 26, 2012

Probably wont order again.A Vendor has only 1 chance to sell something. Exchangeservice definitely  lost his chance.
It took 3 days that the status changed from processing to transit. 13 days later and im still waiting.I send  2 pm´s but he doesnt answer.
Thats not a good position to make businesss. This guy will loose all his customers ..... I wont order again, also all my friends.
This deal realy  sucks ....

Total transactions: 39
Total spent: $4578.76

Update:
Today my package arrived. It took 13 days from ordering to arrivel (germany to germany).Normaly it takes no longer than 1-2 days to ship from germany to germany. The quality is OK.This is not the way to make business.Sorry but next time i use a different seller.
If you order Weed from Exchangeservice maeby he buys Weed from another vendor and than he sells it for a higher price.Thats the only answer i have why it takes so long to ship.
