Title: Question: BTC bank deposit method requires bank account?
Post by: howardkarmel on November 08, 2012, 02:56 am
Regarding the bank cash deposit BTC funding method...

Has anyone been able to put money through Bitinstant (or whatever funding client you use) WITHOUT having an account with the bank you do the transfer at? I've gone to multiple banks on several occasions, and every time they tell me I need to have an account with them in order to make a transfer. They need to have an account on file to load with the cash, from which they would transfer to the Bitinstant account... they can't send money without declaring where it came from.

That's been my experience.  Have you guys had better luck?

thanks

Never had that experience. They've never asked. I hand them the slip and the cash, and they make the deposit and give me a receipt.

This is at Bank of America.

You need to make a deposit, not a transfer.  Ask the teller for an out of state deposit slip, fill it out, then hand her the slip and cash.
