I'm disappointed at the number of vendors that setup a good thing and then split only after a few weeks of sales. Certainly there are security reasons they may chose this route, but I'm curious if SR has considered ways to encourage sellers to stick around?
It's my understanding SR collects a % of each sale, so perhaps it would be easiest to implement such a system by decreasing the % taken over time.

I agree that decreasing the commission on long-term vendors would be helpful to both buyers & sellers, but unless the money that they're saving on commissions is greater than the money that they stand to gain from a scam, there's incentive to scam.
I'm sure that lots of vendors are only selling for a short amount of time is because they don't have a steady connect. They heard about a great deal on bulk, bought a vendor account, moved the product quickly at a fair price, and then split.
I'd argue that the power of a reputation on SR is reward enough for the vendors. Established vendors can set higher prices because people trust them. They'll also get more business from new buyers. They're also likely to generate more large orders, and the commissions on the large orders are much smaller.
Players in the illicit drug game aren't reallly famous for longevity, I wouldn't really expect it to be any different on the road.

I actually agree with every major statement you made.
I might not have the right answer, but just wanted to encourage discussion on how hard-working sellers that have continued to be a good vendor for a relatively long time period could be encouraged to stick around other than the cash they're already making.

I'm sure that the cash that they're making is the strongest incentive available. I don't know if you've ever dealt drugs, but it's kind of a giant hassle. It's a major relief when you don't have to do it for a while. Trying to be a hassle-free buyer and helping others to do the same will probably help ease at least a small amount of vendor stress. Other than that, I'm not sure that there's much we can do.
