BTC transfers are irreversible right? That's what I was always told.
But I've also read that you should wait for a few confirmations to make sure the money isn't withdrawn from you.
My question is... which one is right? Is the transaction irreversible, or can it be taken back before you have so many confirmations?

once you send the coin correct it is irreversible..... Depending on where you send it depends on the time it takes, i.e. It takes 6 confirmations to go from my offline wallet to the road , once I get my 6 confirms then it takes on an average 15-20 min for the road to wash them..... when your going from person to person and dont have to wash them then it takes 6 confirmations , now that time depends on when you send it , if I send the coins mid day here it takes awhile since there is a high volume of traffic on the web .... where ever you send it from , wallet , click on transactions and click the link with the address and blockchain will show up and tell you exactly how many confirs they have and you can get a ball park figure on the time it will take
