Tell me a newbie could really find the trash in the middle of the heap?
The reviews are scrambled, and vendors can easily somehow cheat the system so the SR reviews are a useless tool.
Fix it. Yea right ::)
Don't get me wrong, I love the place but this recent event blows big time, and it's about time we buyers discuss it.
Am I wrong or are some of the reviews, and ratings funky?
The answer is to use the forums, but it's takes a new person a while to catch on.

Sorry, I am confused about what's changed to stack it in favor of the vendors? When it went from "#1 out of 1000" vendors to "top 1%"?

Unwiz has really turned into a mutant new form of a ASSHAT
He does this periodically. Trolls around and stirs the pot.
Then makes dumbass threads about how "things on SR are soo bad blabla" or how something favors someone.
When actually nothing has changed in the past 30 days that "favors" anyone. Everything on SR can be faked to a point. Reviews, Feedback.
And how do you think forums will help? All a vendor would have to do is make his own review thread, creat 20 nob accounts and jack up his forum thread also

Great vendor.
Great vendor.
Great vendor.
When I see shit like this^ I head to the forums. As a buyer I'm seeing that this site is weighed heavily towards the vendors. Which is bullshit. Yea, vendors pay SRs bills. Who pays the vendors bills?
Theres so many things that could be done to help buyers, as seen in the "Feature requests" subforum.
Instead, XXX is changed to Erotica, and a couple new categories are added. I realize that tossing a new category in the mix is a lot easier to do than some other things. But the price of a purchase next to the feedback left for it would help stop bullshit feedback etc.
Just my .02c

Putting the price paid beside the feedback would not help. Vendors are going to have BTC, and probably a lot of BTC, in their accounts so what stops them from sending a large chunk to a shell account, "buying" their own product and doing the same stuff they can do now? It wouldn't. This is why the only thing you can really do to protect yourself is RESEARCH your vendor. Take the time to find out what's going on, how they've handled things in the past, etc. Find trustworthy reviews in the forums, never go out of escrow, and even then you may get a vendor who doesn't send anything out and gives you a 50% refund. There's nothing that can 100% make sure you are fully protected until all substances are legalized.
Basically, use your head.

This right here. Seriously if you made it this far to get onto SR then I'm pretty sure you can make it a bit further into the rumor mill and searching the name of the vendor you're interested in. Sure vendors can technically cheat the system by buying their own products on fake accounts but in the end no top vendor will waste their time doing this, only the new sketchy vendors which is when you head over to this handy forum and type their name in the search bar and hit enter. Also if you ever just feel like if something is too good to be true then it probably is. You can also always message the vendor your questions and see how they respond, there are so many ways to research a vendor, it's just up to the buyer really.

What I thought would be a good idea is to change the rating view system into something like amazon does. So you have a list like
1/5
2/5
3/5
4/5
5/5
Then a number next to it, regarding how many of those the seller got, and also a link to only this particular type, so we can just see the negatives and decide from there.

Maybe, but I spend way too much time watching what is going on.
At 4 posts, doesn't give you much credit to attack, a valued member, who truly wants to help.
Certain Vendors have improved their standings almost overnight.
Also using threats against buyers, etc.
If nobody else is noticing the effect then I'll shut the fuck up.
If one of the mods such as Nomadbloodbath, or another respected member calls me an ASSHAT.
Well I'll just cry, and go away :'(

You can view pages of feedback.
You can search the forums.
If your package doesn't show up in the mail, you resolve it through the resolution center.
What's the problem again? If someone's too stupid to research what they're buying, and they get scammed, it's their own damn fault. Never finalize early, and always do your research, it's that simple.

The feedback is no longer in dated order.
So you can't see any trends.
I use to watch vendors put dummy review, it was easy to spot.
Vendors are somehow able to get bad reviews removed.
Now, randomize the reviews, and dummy the feedback rating, leads to buyer confusion.
I like the idea of being able to click on bad reviews, and good reviews separately then.
This randomizing of reviews has blown any chance of catching a trend.
I've watch vendors with many bad reviews go from the 70% to 95% without making any sales.
How does that happened?
And why all the negativity when I'm trying to report an obvious hole?
The title should say NEW buyers, but I didn't have enough room.

Vendors are somehow able to get bad reviews removed.
Some vendors will bribe you to change your feedback...
Idealy(for me) the feedback system would be alot like ebay but anonymous, for example grade the seller on 1-5 stars on 4 different categories. Product as described, Packaging, shipping price, shipping speed.
Also by each review put a number reflecting the buyers transaction stats.
-
I wouldn't mind there being multiple categories of feedback.
It seems like the unspoken rule is to give 5's for simply not being a scammer. It's hard to gauge product quality and shipping time when vendors have a shit fit when someone doesn't give them a five.
