Title: Once i encrypt a messege with PGP where do i find my public key?
Post by: MacMan on March 19, 2012, 02:15 am
Okay, so i have successfully encrypted a messege and have it ready to send but i know i need to include my public key for the person im sending it to, to be able to decrypt it, so do i just wanna sign it, or do i need to include something else?
Is signing what i am looking to do? I know this is a simple question but am just a bit unclear if this is what i am supposed to do.

If you encrypt message with another person public key, only he can decrypt it. If some1 encrypt message with your public key, only you can decrypt it.
Place your public key in the message and encrypt it together. Vendor when decrypt whole message can find and your public key what he will use to encrypt messages for you.

What are you using for PGP?  If you're using GPG 4 win you just right click on your key and click export. Save it to a text file then open it to see your public key.

Im using portablePgP

So would my public key be the same thing as my signature? Aside from encrypt/decrypt i have the option to sign or verify. Anyone use this>
