Title: need some help with Tails..
Post by: THUMBSuP. on August 23, 2013, 02:10 am
just started running Tails from a Live CD..
and when i go to websites like this it pops up saying..
"you are connecting to an unencrypted network third parties could easily see.."

blah blah..
how do i get Tails utilized for safety and anonymity?
it is running through iceweasel.. with the tor button.

i usually just use the tor browser..
but i figured it's been way overdue to jump on a THUMBdrive.. ;)

thanks for any and all help!!!

cheers.

There is no special configiguration to prevent those messages.

You should expect that a MITM attack is possible.

That the encryption that is in use by TOR at the onion sites is not accurate.

Your IP is covered, so you should use PGP if you want to be sure that nobody can read what you wrote.

Covering your IP is mostly a advantage to cover your geolocation.
If the onion encryption is useless, because the last tornode was a evil-webserver.

Or like tormail is catched by L.E., you should know that everything you wrote without an ecryption is to be read. Software will search for any address in the database.

If you gave your real homeaddress to a seller, without gpg, your IPaddress is not needed to reveal your geolocation.

had a tormail account..
but never used it.. only for learning PGP. :)
no addresses, just bull shit messages back and forth..
to get it figured out via the command lines.

so, my shit is whacked out?
i am safe browsing? never used Tails until now..
usually just used tor..
but now i am running Tails from a CD then tor..
well Iceweasel.. with the Tor button i guess.

thanks.
