Title: Safe to Transfer BTC from MTGOX to SR Account?
Post by: headshort on August 07, 2013, 02:31 pm
If I have some bitcoins with MTGOX, is it safe to transfer those directly to my SR account or do I need to create a wallet in between? Thanks.

I'd recommend creating a wallet with blockchain.info first

Only problem is with blockchain.info you can't create the wallet on Tor with noscripts and java disabled.  So it isn't that anonymous.  I don't think anyone could find out where you sent the bitcoins  if you just do it straight from MTGOX because of the tumbler system

Sounds like a plan. Can I use the MTGOX "green address" option?

Why wouldn't it be safe? SR launders their payments on arrival.

I've heard that the silkroad bitcoin tumbler and also the blockchain.info aren't the best for anonymity. I don't have any personal experience with either or understand why exactly but from what I've read in the big boys forum, that is the general concensus. It differs on a situational basis.  I'd check out the security section of the main forums for more info

bitcoinfog is supposed to be one of the best programs for anonymizing bitcoins but they do charge a fee, and like i said, might be unnecessary for your needs.
