Title: Bitinstant Cash Deposits
Post by: GAB on SR on June 20, 2013, 11:06 pm
I have been using Bitinstant cash deposits to obtain my BTC for some time now (cash deposit to fund an MtGox account). When filling out the money order, I have always used my real name and information. Clearly, this creates some risk for myself that I would like to eliminate.

My question is: If I used a fake name, would everything still work out (everything being the money being put onto MtGox through bitinstant/zip zap)?

& Also, what could happen if I was caught using a fake name for the order?

What's the point of going through Mtgox?  Fake name or not, I don't see a problem. Buying Bitcoins is NOT illegal, nor is transferring them to a wallet address. Using fake info, I believe,  would be more of a risk. Also, these cash deposit locations (Walmart/CVS/etc) would be on the lookout for people using these cash services for money laundering, not ZipZap payments for Bitcoins. I have a printed document, 13 pages probably, that Walmart currently uses to train their employees on Walmarts money services. It points out ways to search for people that trying to launder money.
