Title: (Probably) Ridiculous Newbie BTC Question
Post by: MDJDCADMUCA on June 17, 2013, 10:06 pm
Hi all, delighted to have finally set up a SR account after hearing about it for so long. These forums seem great too! 8)

I'm relatively okay with tech stuff usually but with BTC I seem to be struggling to figure it out fully. I've found a place to buy my coins safely I think (localbitcoins.com). My question may be completely stupid but here it is:

Do I need a wallet in order to acquire bitcoins or can I just use my SR address directly when buying? I have Mutibit set up on my machine but I don't intend on dealing with big money in anyway shape or form so I was wondering if it's possible to cut out the wallet completely. Is that completely ridiculous?

Any help would be much appreciated!

Cheers

Tull

You may use your sr address when purchasing bitcoin however i do recommend you make a wallet on the blockchain just in case something bad happens to the sr

i use COINBASE. they offer a free wallet, they draw directly from your account, and a place to buy/sell your BTC. great rates ;)
