How concerned should I be if I have sent packages with my fingerprints on them?
-
depends if you have a criminal record or not. if you don't have a record then LE don't have your prints so not too much of a cause for concern. until you get pinched for something of course.
couple of reasons to be worried:
1. you've sold to LE.
2. your packages get seized.
if you have a record and either of the above happens you are in trouble. if all of your packages got through ok with no problems just keep an eye for any reviews from the buyers - if they sound dodgy you might still be in trouble.
basically if you have a record and either point above is true you're fucked mate, sorry.

I don't have a record. But, when I got my driver's license I was required to give my fingerprints to the DMV.
I guess my main question is this : How much does it cost them to do a fingerprint analysis?
Do you think they would even bother unless its a big time package?
-
ah - dunno mate, i'm the other side of the pond. if it's a small amount thats seized they'll probably just dispose of it and won't give it a second though, but if LE bought it from here and they can access the DMV's records, you will get a knock at the door
-
hmm, i always just assumed that fingerprint analysis would be too much of a hassle for LE. Now im worried :(
-
sorry dude, didn't mean to make you lose sleep over it! maybe the DMV don't share their print d'base with the old bill?
-
np, i like an honest answer. I looked it up, and apparently LE can use whatever database they want for a criminal investigation. So the DMV database is fair-game. Oh well, i guess i just gotta cross my fingers and hope I haven't sold to LE. I'm pretty sure I have sold to LE though :( .

yea. I was under the impression that fingerprint analysis was only for serious crimes like murder etc.. But now i know...

Gloves
Gloves
Gloves
Gloves
Gloves
Here endeth the message.
-
fingerprints can bleed through latex gloves BTW, so make sure you use 2 gloves on each hand
-
do postal workers wear gloves? if not, then my prints could be among many
-
I would only worry if the package didn't get to its destination but that worry would vary greatly depending on what item was in the package. If it was a gun then you better be moving country pronto, if it was a bit of smoke or something I wouldn't worry at all but there is still the slim chance prints may be taken. I guess it depends on how the particular cop in charge feels at the time, plus the fact on the scale of importance a print for some poxy bit of dope is relevant.
Best to do what any wise person does, think DNA, think prints, dont be licking labels or stamps of touching shit or blowing on stuff, or writing while leaning on packaging or paper that could get into the wrong hands etc. If you wear gloves and reuse them, mark them so you know which side made contact with your hands and make sure you put them on the same way around each time and that they are dusted.
And whatever you do dont just chuck them on the floor whilst driving down the road or something for some busy body to pick up and hand to the coppers cause if its your unlucky day, dna plus trace of whatever you been touching equals problems, even if they had no prior intel you dont want your name on the wall in some cop shop somewhere with cunts walking around wanting a promotion so they can buy that shitty Ford Focus hes had his eye on.
lol dem ford focus' .
I don't think my DNA is on file so I'm not too worried about that. Time to start wearing gloves and hope that I haven't already shipped to LE.

Treat every package like LE bought it.
2-3 gloves.. remove after every step.
rinse and repeat.
make sure no hair gets on anything, keep gloves on.
you should be fine.
vinyl gloves, no powder preferably. latex can leave prints when something gets on the outside... not to mention they are thin.
vinyl is where it's it. no powder, obviously.
-
i think most postal workers use gloves, like those thicker-type work gloves
although my mailman never wears gloves...
-
The inside is the key. There are plenty po workers that don't wear gloves.
If nothing on the inside, how can they possibly prove you packed it? They can't. You just ran an errand for your sweet old (SR VENDING) grandmother!
Not that that's the end of it by any means...
-
not to be a douchebag but why the fuck would you send packages and leave fingerprints on them lol
