Title: Awful service from USPS
Post by: anonsora on February 14, 2012, 05:47 pm
So I had recently placed 2 orders unrelated to SR to be shipped to me and the senders were using USPS. The first package was said to have attempted delivery and a notice was left, but that is just complete bullshit, I was home all day and also checked my mailbox for any notices and there were none. The second package I was suppose to get has been "In Delivery" since yesterday morning and has a "Delivery status not updated" since last night. Went to 2 post offices (they both said the opposites basically and to check with the other post office) with them saying they do not handle these, it is the carriers job so I should talk to them. All in all, complete shitty service, I have daily mail that comes to my mailbox. I am also suppose to be receiving 2 orders from SR hopefully tomorrow but again it is USPS, I'm kinda stressed out about this now as to what will happen to my orders :/ nothing big, just small stuff in them. Anyone else got these problems before?

Relying on the government to do something right - thats why more aren't caught.  Just keep trying, even put in a complaint - bold - but they dont know what is in envelope

Well I put in a complaint and filed a claim for the 2 unrelated packages to SR, they said that someone should be contacting me soon and an "Investigation" should be done prior to this. Personally, I have low expectations if they'll even contact me back. But now I'm just worrying about my enveloped packages from SR and what will happen to them if they can't be delivered.

I understand your frustration with USPS but man, FedEx (or UPS) is a BAD idea.  They are known to cooperate with law enforcement, and actually have more resources to dedicate to inspection than the USPS does.

Yeah I know, I meant using FedEx to deliver my normal packages haha. I understand the reasons of why all vendors use USPS instead of the other postal services and support it, it's just annoying really when people don't do their jobs correctly and customer service is rude and/or unhelpful.

The ONLY way I have ever shipped anything illicit is through FedEx. You cannot beat next day COD!

Of course, I was shipping to people I had already done business with F2F and developed a relationship with.

The less time humans can touch it, the less chance it has to get intercepted.

I ran it right along with my legitimate business without ONE hitch. Still unnerving, though.

I am not sure if many of you know this. USPS uses FedEx's airplane fleet to fly out packages that need expedited shipping.

USPS needs a warrant to open suspect packages. FedEx and UPS do not, as you agree to allow them to look into your packages by using their services. For example:

UPS Terms of Service

6. Right of Inspection
UPS reserves the right in its sole discretion
to open and inspect any package tendered
to it for transportation, but is not required to
do so.

Im certain FedEx has a similar one to that. When you use their services, you are automatically agreeing to these terms. USPS must obtain a warrant first.

Yeah, they (USPS) fuck shit up, but they don't ask too many questions... and that's a trade-off I'm willing to make.

Ya know, I worked at a surgical center who received an awful lot of scheduled and unscheduled drugs by UPS routinely.  Not a single shipment ever came opened, was delayed, ever.  The only package which ever got held up was an order from Canada because the US supplier was back-ordered.  UPS would come by daily with boxes and many of the items shipped would have had a drug dog doing backflips a mile away.  I wonder what the deal is?  Maybe if the return address label matches a known pharmaceutical company, they don't check it?
