Title: Decouple seller logins from displayed seller names
Post by: skoog on December 15, 2011, 08:00 pm
I was thinking about my own security and realized how much greater of an issue it is for sellers. Maybe it is already the case, but I think it is very important to decouple the names sellers use for posted listings from the login name for their account. This would greatly increase the difficulty of scammers or law enforcement to break into a seller's account, and it would also make it much harder for law enforcement to link a physical person to a seller's online identity.

I don't think seller's (if they have the least bit of intelligence) are likely to have their passwords discovered by a brute force attack, but it is an interesting idea in that it would allow a seller not to ever have to type his or her true username, which would foil key loggers and the like.
