I would urge everyone to consider upgrading to TOR 2.4 BETA. You can find it on the TOR project website here:
https://www.torproject.org/projects/torbrowser.html.en
Apparently, it is based on Elliptical Curve Diffie Hellman ciphers, which, as this article suggests, represents a strength of encryption beyond what even NSA can reach.
The key is to have as may TOR users in the community as possible, particularly those who run RELAYS, get on the 2.4 protocol.

Think you will find it says it is actually easier to crack but little to no time has been spent on cracking it as it wasn't in use
