Hey guys. This is simply to gauge interest. Are buyers interested in name-brand smartphones (IE: Samsung, HTC, Sony, etc) or are you guys looking for more "burner-type" smartphones that may be no-name? They, of course, would still have at least android 2.3 to 4.0 and would be carrier-free for at least any CDMA or GSM networks.
As far as the tablets, they would be the same deal. Most of them would be wifi only but would still have full access to the google play store and have at least android 2.3 to 4.0 as well.
Couple questions that I need to know before going forward:
1) What's the price range you guys want to shell out on smartphone "burners"?
2) Is this even a viable solution? ( I use orkut on my GS3, so having a smartphone to access SR is definitely convenient).
3) Is there an interest to buy burners/smartphones/tablets in bulk?
Obviously, off-brand will not have the feature-rich components of something like the GS4 or HTC One or Moto X, but it will have android, full access to the google play store, a decent sized screen (think at least 4") and front/rear cameras. There may be "phablets" as well.
Please help me gauge interest by telling me what you guys want, because I noticed there is definitely a gap in SR for electronics like cell phones and tablets.
PS: Don't ask about iphones and ipads. There are plenty of sites on tor to accommodate that.
I'm pretty positive I can meet a pretty solid price point, so even if you didn't think burners were something you wanted to consider in the past, an affordable solution might change your mind :)
Thank you very much guys. Help me help you!

I'll get back to you on that. I'm not sure if they come with sims or not. It might depend on the product.

dude, you use orkut?

a couple times. I have a rooted phone on a small provider, so I feel relatively comfortable with it. It's not like I conduct business thru orkut or anything like that.
If there is a better solution to orkut, please share :)

Try downloading the onion app. I use it all the time.

so you want to provide voluntary tracking devices to criminals through an anonymous black market. i think you may be a genius.

I've considered buying electronics from the deep web a couple of times because they're so damn expensive normally. However, for me to actually go through with it, the price would have to be VERY low. I would also have to be reassured that I could register it with my service provider without any trouble.

I know. I'm talking about cheap smartphones that would be between $100-$250 bucks. Stock android. International phones. I wouldn't expect updates from the phones, but, they are all GSM/CDMA compatible with edge and 3G.

No, but they have sim slots and some are dual sim.

Very interesting, where i'm from customs are VERY high. (and local pricing are crazy.)
stealthily sending smartphones would be the way for me to go(buy).

I'm not familiar with customs/tariffs on electronics and cell phones. Do sealed phones get seized in customs?
