Title: Thaistick - mistake to finalize early
Post by: elmergantry on November 18, 2012, 01:55 pm
I bought a small order off this guy who requires fe for new customers. I finalized early and then sent a message asking if he could confirm it had been sent. A day or so later he said something like "your package is ready to post after you finalize". I straight away replied to him saying that I had already finalized. A 9 day hiatus and I get a very condescending reply saying 1) it had been sent, 2) he got my messages, 3 he can confirm I finalized early. Terrible customer service and I don't actually believe he sent it (it was uk to uk). Anyway, this guy is a fool.

I wasn't too clear, his name is 'Thaistick'. I think he mainly does UK domestic orders. I was very annoyed because he didn't offer any apology or explanation for missing the fact that I'd finalized early. He also gave no sympathy in his recent response.

OP is talking about the vendor named ThaiStick

Quote
ranked in the top 99% of sellers with 70.2% positive feedback from more than 300 transactions
Doesn't look good.
"ranked in the top 99%" == "among the worst 2% of vendors"
Also lots of 1/5 feedback, no end-to-end encryption ("coming soon"), etc.

OP, you said it was a small order, so I would just take the loss and move on. Can't imagine how you landed on this vendor in the first place, frankly. Yes twelve dollar / eight quid is cheap for 1.5g of weed, but there are other risks to consider besides the money.

If I were you, I'd look for vendors with better rank and feedback, be prepared to pay market prices, do your homework and always use PGP. But that's just me, and of course you are free to screw up in any way you see fit. :)

Wishing you better luck with your next buy.

Thanks for the responses. I definitely shouldn't have finalized early but I had a spare bitcoin in my account so decided to spend it, which turned out to be a mistake. He has got some bad ratings and one other customer left very similar feedback to mine (1 star - item not arrived - no communication) at around the same time as mine. I am going to move on but hope that other people don't finalize early for this seller.

Vendor: ThaiStick
http://silkroadvb5piz3r.onion/silkroad/user/e12594094f
Product: 1.5 grams thai stick (no longer listed, couldn't find old link)

I should have paid attention to the fact that this guy had a fair number of negative reviews, but I convinced myself that it was no big deal, and if I lost my money it wouldn't be a big deal because it was cheap, and he said he'd mail it out same day. Most of the negative reviews were from people participating in some loan game he was/is running, and I figured ordering a small quantity of pot would be fine--why would he even bother screwing me over?

Well, surprise surprise, the order form the guy with crappy reviews never arrived. I'm not even mad, because I should have done my research and trusted my gut. I looked a little deeper at his reviews, and found that people who had ordered larger quantities from him before and waited weeks, then received less than a gram when they'd ordered 7g. I contacted him, but he didn't respond, and now he hasn't been online in over a week. I messaged him again today to try to get it resolved, and I'll post an update here if I get a response, but I would strongly recommend against doing business with this person.

I did a loan with hm a few months ago when his rating was high for a few hundred bucks.
Never got my money back, then his account got pulled, then reinstated.
He said he would pay me cash in post instead - nothing.

SR admin message to me was:

"I have messaged the vendor and they are fixing everything."

Just avoid him like the plague guys, can't believe he hasn't been removed.

Thaistick has got back to me, saying that it was sent and offering a refund. I'm still waiting to receive it but he hasn't been online for a day or so. I'll be pleasantly surprised if I do get a refund and I've noticed that he's getting a good number of bad reviews at the moment.
