I cannot get my TOR browser to work. I don't understand a bit of the TOR language. This is what I do know:
1. It is installed on Ubuntu
2. Ubuntu is installed on a thumb drive
Here is my message log:
Aug 22 11:18:25.913 [Notice] Tor v0.2.2.35 (git-b04388f9e7546a9f). This is experimental software. Do not rely on it for strong anonymity. (Running on Linux i686)
Aug 22 11:18:26.357 [Warning] ControlPort is open, but no authentication method has been configured. This means that any program on your computer can reconfigure your Tor. That's bad! You should upgrade your Tor controller as soon as possible.
Aug 22 11:18:26.430 [Notice] Initialized libevent version 2.0.18-stable using method epoll. Good.
Aug 22 11:18:26.430 [Notice] Opening Socks listener on 127.0.0.1:0
Aug 22 11:18:26.430 [Notice] Socks listener listening on port 57541.
Aug 22 11:18:26.431 [Notice] Opening Control listener on 127.0.0.1:0
Aug 22 11:18:26.431 [Notice] Control listener listening on port 57164.
Aug 22 11:18:26.431 [Warning] Permissions on directory /home/ubuntu/tor-browser_en-US are too permissive.
Aug 22 11:18:26.431 [Warning] Before Tor can create a control socket in "/home/ubuntu/tor-browser_en-US/start-tor-browser", the directory "/home/ubuntu/tor-browser_en-US" needs to exist, and to be accessible only by the user account that is running Tor. (On some Unix systems, anybody who can list a socket can conect to it, so Tor is being careful.)
Aug 22 11:18:26.432 [Notice] Closing partially-constructed listener Socks listener on 127.0.0.1:57541
Aug 22 11:18:26.434 [Notice] Closing partially-constructed listener Control listener on 127.0.0.1:57164
Aug 22 11:18:26.434 [Warning] Failed to parse/validate config: Failed to bind one of the listener ports.
Aug 22 11:18:26.434 [Error] Reading config failed--see warnings above.

Change the permissions on the directory. Make it read, write and executable only by your user account.

Follow the link I sent to you. Type the commands it tells you to into the terminal. The terminal is the most important program on linux. Here is how to use it on ubuntu. https://help.ubuntu.com/community/UsingTheTerminal
