Title: May have used a retired address.
Post by: dabork on September 11, 2013, 05:11 pm
I received a notice about using an archived address.  I meant to change it but it must have slipped my mind.  Anyway, I sent some coins to the same address today (it's still the address in my profile), but they still haven't shown up after over 40 confirmations and about 4 hours.  I'm wondering if the address was retired, and if so, if my coins are lost forever.

Thanks in advance.

I have exactly the same problem. With my first deposit everything went well. When I noticed that the btc I sent are not sufficient, I did a second transaction to the same address. Later I saw the message saying this address “could be retired at any time”.  Until now (>80  confirmations for second tx) I didn't receive the second deposit in my account.
Are my btc lost now? It would not be so tragic, since it's not a big amount, but it would be nice to know whats going on here...

Finally I received my coins with a huge delay. It seems this happened due to a general issue with the deposit system: http://dkn255hz262ypmii.onion/index.php?topic=211341.0
Anyway this "archived address used" message is confusing to me. I suppose its only a warning to make users generate a new address and does not mean that the address is not valid anymore. This should really be more clear.
