Once upon a time, in a land far, far away... A guy ordered contraband through the mail. There was a DCN. It was checked. The box, while dropped off on day 1, did not appear on tracking data until day 3. It was IMMEDIATELY shipped to the return address on day 3. All tracking data was held until it was out for delivery on that fateful day when some guy who had no idea where this box came from had some intense experiences.
Turns out the receiving address was already hot. Hot enough to be flagged. They were trying to catch the shipper.
I was recently reminded of this by something.
Be this a reminder not to use a real return address. If it's coming back, it could be coming back for a reason you don't care to be involved in. If the buyer is being watched, or is LE himself, it could be unpleasant for you. You'll look like the supplier from the beginning even if this is the one and only time you sent this buyer anything.

Isn't this common sense? :D
No seller with IQ above 75 would take such a risk of using his real address, ever.

I've seen a lot of dumb things man...
There has been much discussion about the recipient's address, but not much about the sender's. Just felt I'd bring it up.
I've had a few conversations on SR messaging that really made me wonder....

I always put the return address of somebody that pisses me off. Like the fat chick next door that verbally abuses her little autistic daughter or the tweakers that ripped off a friend a few times. I have used the local LE station a few times for shits and giggles ;D

Novocaine,
Nothing so much makes my blood boil as the abuse and/or mistreatment of the innocent and helpless. While your effort to get this fatty in trouble is noteworthy, perhaps you might consider actually reporting her to child protective services. No doubt if you can hear her verbal abuse, that child is being physically abused as well. Statistically, children with physical or developmental disabilities are three times as likely to be abused. Just call anonymously. The fact that the kid has this disability might get the useless CPS off their asses and investigate.

I hear you. I have done several times. I have even recorded the bitch. I have abused her over the fence about her mistreating her kid. Child protection come and go. Apparently the kid has no signs of physical abuse and they reckon they cant do much about verbal abuse. Anyway if I ever see her lay a finger on the kid I will kick her square in the nuts.
Thanks for the number but its a bit out of their jurisdiction ;)

I use the Return Address of people that piss me off too. :-p But, after the bullshit of the last 2 days, I think I'm calling it quits on SR... I don't need SR's shitbag buyers dirtying the reputation I've spent decades creating. It's a good thing this is an anonymous service. I'd break someone's jaw, or worse. I miss having the option to kill bad customers.

(EDIT as I thought I may not have been clear...)
+1
But also, THIS is the reason people who use drugs shouldn't be branded as criminals. People who use drugs enjoy using drugs and don't harm others. Criminals harm others, often in sick and disgusting ways.
Not really related to the thread, but I felt that important to point out.

I contemplated not posting this for obvious TMI reasons. But it answers a long-standing question.
I heard through the grapevine (friend of a friend of a friend that I barely know who works for the USPS).
That a package had been intercepted because of how it's DCN was checked with an anonymous address (her words). It was still sitting in the blue box with other packages all nice and tidy and properly labelled with the same return address. The astute Postal Worker snatched them all up because they matched. USPS re-routed them all to the return address hoping the sender was dumb enough to use his own.
I'm presuming that the 'anonymous address' referred to by the computer illiterate person I got this rumor from, is a TOR exit node.
What an amazing coincidence...
Do I have to withhold DCNs from customers so that they don't do stupid shit and then blame me for it and piss on my feedback? This one asshole fucked everyone.

Captain,
i'm not one of your buyers, but I'm sorry youy feel that way.
I also understand why. There's been a real influx of asshats recently.
and a lot of name calling and accusations.
It sucks. Sorry to see good vendors discouraged.
good luck,

I feel you man. This service protects buyers from getting their asses beaten to a pulp (as some need it). If this were the street, which it's not, many
bodies would be found in boxes in pieces. I'd do worse than break a jaw or kill. I'll send a motherfucker's head and hands, cock chopped off and stuffed
in mouth, on dry ice to their mother. The body would get cement shoe'd and dropped in the body of water I chose.
Or maybe I'll chip it up so fine; pour it into an unknown driveway, foundation, or sidewalk.....or fuck it pull a Victor The Cleaner and Acid Bath the
whole set. Powderize the bones and be out.
Yeah, I'm Sicilian.
I am not a buyer of your goods, am also sorry that you feel that way - but I truly understand your frustration and anger.
Stupidity makes me incendiary when we are supposed to be professional about everything - that goes for buyers too.

Yeah, I've seen people mention this so many times (even IRL). I don't think sellers should release the DCN to the buyer unless they already have a good rep and specifically ask for it. The only time I think a seller should be releasing the DCN to new buyers is if there was a problem with shipping.
edit:
fixed: was high and quoted the wrong person :D
