Hey guys,
I was reviewing my sales, and accidentally hit "cancel" on one of the orders, stupidly thinking it was some kind of drop-down menu. The money went out of my account instantly, so I'm assuming it automatically refunded the buyer.
The order was already shipped out a few days ago... so I messaged the buyer asking him if he could re-place the order and so far no reply....
Anything I can do?? :-[
-
They way I see it is that if it was shipped a few days ago, it should have been "in transit" and then your only two options were to finalize or resolve. The "cancel" option is only available after 4 days of being in processing. If you hit 'cancel', you bitcoins should have been in your account. If you pressed 'finalize' your funds went to the buy and you should pray that they actually sent your product.
-
Huh? I'm sorry, I'm new to SR and these are my first sales so I don't quite understand...
None of the transactions are finalized. All I see is an "auto-finalize" tab, which shows around 2 weeks for all the orders, and on the right, the only options available are "cancel", and just underneath, a dropdown menu starting with "never arrived"
None of the money from my sales is in my account yet. Still in escrow.
Am I doing something wrong??
-
Also, when I click on the individual transaction IDs, the status shows that they are "in transit".
-
That sounds like you confirmed shipping, not cancelled the order...
-
No, no. I already confirmed shipment on all of my orders.
However, under the "orders" tab (between "messages" and "account"), there is a list of all my orders, and I accidentally hit "cancel" on one of the orders.
The money I received for the order was instantly removed from the total funds in my escrow after I hit the cancel button.
It is what it is- I cancelled the order. I just wanted to know if there's anything I could do about it short of the buyer doing the right thing... I sent him twice as much as he ordered too, for being one of my first customers. Arghh. :(
-
Yeah, that's a great way to view it! :)
I decided to just let it slide.... not worth the hassle. Hope he has a fun time!
great way to promote sales!!! will have a customer for life now im sure ;)

Hey Chargargargar,
If I was the buyer you would get your money back. Hopefully they are an honest person.
-
He seemed like a really great guy. Always got back to me within a few hours. But now he hasn't replied in 5 days... well... you never know- he might pop back up out of the woodworks when he gets his order!
-
eh, look at this way, you'll never make that mistake again!
Maybe the guy just hasn't logged in since then. If he is ignoring you and planning to make off with the order, he probably won't come back for more. If i were a vendor and the customer refused to repay i'd be a bit angry and probably wouldn't do any future business with him.
On the other hand, it wasn't his fault and he really isn't responsible. It just comes down to doing the right thing. His loss though in the long run if he decides not to reimburse you, your prices are very buyer friendly.
It's an expensive lesson learned for you though, part of the learning process i suppose. I'm sure the customer will make it right in the end.
(BTW you said you sent a couple messages to him, have you checked if he read them yet?)
-
Yup- it's marked as read. He's ignoring me.
I sent him another very polite message. If he doesn't get back to me I'll let it slide, but I will not hesitate to post his username on here.

That sucks! I accidentally finalized early once on a purchase from FF, and just figured I would never get it, but luckily I did. Hopefully he is an honest guy. I think most of the people on here would be decent enough to do whats right. I know if it was me I would pay it back. I treat people the same way I wish to be treated!

Yes, if he doesn't respond and do the right thing then the right thing for you to do is post his username. Any buyer should do that if a vendor rips them off and vice versa. Make sure to post it in the vendor roundtable forum in the sketch buyers thread all other vendors should be aware of them as well. I hope that they do what's right.
-
Thanks for the advice. He hasn't yet read the second message I sent him. I'll give it a couple of days.

damn happyhippy.. best of luck finding it. just look at the block explorer for the address you sent it from, you should be able to track it. finding the user on SR who has it may be a different story though.
I already did that but it was an unlabelled address so I've not got a clue who got it . It may be in an old SR buyers account of mine but I can't remember how I spelt the username , as I said numpty . NOW all addresses are labelled :-))
-
Good news! The buyer got back to me and apologized. Said he was very busy... Now I'm waiting on him to replace his order.
-
Just try to reason it out with the buyer haha.
-
I don't know what's up with this guy. He apologized and asked if he should place another order or send me the money directly. I told him to just re-place the same order. He read my responses 2 days ago and he still hasn't done anything. Geez.
-
I had something amusingly similar happen to me once. I got 500mg of 4-AcO-DMT in the mail, completely unsolicited (and certainly not paid for), from a vendor that I had done business with a couple times before, but had not contacted in the past six months. When I contacted him, he said that nobody had complained about missing an order, and that furthermore he could not possibly have still had my address from the last time we did business, as he deletes them every few weeks.
This was an unsolvable riddle for some time. Eventually, it came to light that a friend of mine had ordered it from the vendor, but had accidentally substituted my name and address for his for some arcane reason.
-
Good news everyone! The buyer came through and placed another order as he promised. He got his package and all is well!
-
My guess is that he was waiting to receive the order prior to replacing the order with you....
Glad it worked out for ya.....
-
glad to see you got your money back, and that the guy was reasonable
