Title: Price of becoming a vendor?

Is it based on usd or btc? If btc are they looking at changing it?

It is based on US dollar. The initial cost is $500 and if you prove to be a trustworthy vendor, after a while, you will get back $350 dollars. :)

"You are required to pay a bond when opening a seller's account that will be refunded to you after you have demonstrated that you are an asset to the Silk Road vendor community. To be eligible for a refund, you must have completed at least 30 transactions totaling $1,500 or more and have been a vendor for at least 6 weeks."

I purchased my vendors account 2 weeks ago and the price was 18btc.  Most likely dropped now as the value of btc have been shooting up

There is no guarantee you will get anything back though, SR staff hold the right to say no if they want to.

If you can't afford that, then you can't afford to vend. I can imagine it can be very expensive.
