For those of you that get large amounts of orders and go to do drops...what is your max boxes you'll put in one drop box at a time?
Does it look suspicious to see 3,4,5+ Priority boxes all from the same return addy in the same box, or would it be better to drop 2 here and 2 there?
What about dropping closer to the sort facility? Does this help or hinder?
Thanks!
-
my advice is spread em out between boxes and random drop days, never stick to a pattern ever
-
No pattern, but I may get an influx of like 4-5 orders at once and have them ready.
I try to drop 2 or so at a time per box. I was just wondering if throwing 3 or more in a box looked suspicious.
BTW, the return addy is usually a business nearby. Most the postal workers around my area could care less as long as there isn't a pile of dog shit in the box, but just curious as to what the most boxes you guys would dare put in.
I wish I could ship from my zip, I have about 4 boxes within walking distance. One I could almost throw the boxes into.
-
i just mix it up, whatever feels good when I get in the car. I rarely leave the house with a drop plan. Trust your gut.

Wonder if you actually *should* also ship from your zip... someone trying to profile you will notice you ship from all zips in the area except one, and there is only one explanation for this fact.
-
Or just ship from one other zip, far far away. I think 2 is a perfect limit per box. I like to push the envelope just like anyone else (no pun intended) but I think the cost/benefit analysis so to speak would be that you risk way too much putting say 4 Prio's in one drop vs. 2, all you benefit is the gas you have to use to go toa drop thats on another posties route. You could even use a box on the same route and ship with different labels and packaging , thats would i would do, I dont get enough orders yet that this becomes a problem, but timing i think would be the most important thing here....drop at different times like someone said, thats critical to success.
maybe someone here can help me with a rather dumb question that I want verification on....for drop box shipping prio's WITH DCN using flats what do you use for postage . obviosuly the 5.15 stamp and then is it two forever stamps (or like 2 x . 45's ) for the DCN? does that look sketch if its done in a fairly commercial area.....most companies dont go in person to ship these days I would assume with how the lines are at the USPS right? Just wanna know if thats the proper way to pay for a DCN without having to go handing your package over in the store. sorry OP for the post jack.

The trick is shipping out from a business name rather than a personal name, this raises less suspicion. You can honestly do up to 10 boxes per drop. Every time I go to the PO I see some ebay seller dropping off tons of small flat rate boxes, if your packaging methods are secure then you should have no worry. This can also eliminate going in everyday dropping off 1-2, which in my opinion is way more suspicious. So if you drop off 5 orders one day and the next day you drop off another 5 at a different PO and then another it won't look too suspicious. Of course you would want to change it up a bit later on ;)

you make a good point about the Ebay sellers, my only concern would be an all of the sudden type influx on some posties route being kind of weird but it depends on if its a city or rural I guess..

Not to mention Etzy sellers, a whole grip of them! But yeah if you think that the postal workers look at the return address and try to make connections to contraband then your tin foil is the size of a satellite haha. Even if your package smelled like weed they can't do anything, only a postal inspector can do something about your package and it's such a pain to get one that most of the time they won't. So like I said if a vendor has a good packaging method then there should be no worry, you should only worry if you're doing international orders because it goes through customs so a more thorough search.

LOL..If my tnfoil is thicker than a satellite, will it start emitting like a satellite! haha.....yeah...I dunno, dude can you explain to me the proccess of using a DCN on prio flats via drop-box, I cant seem to find a clear explanation to get through the tinfoil lol. even tried USPS website and found all sortz of other interesting shit but of course not the DCN/dropbox info. Thanks man.

i have been sticking to 2 or 3 per box with business nearby as return addy. so far no issues.
would just walking into the po and dropping of 5 or so from same return addy be less suspicious?
my biggest thing is stamps. they work, but look so sketchy. i wish i could use the apc without being traced. it looks so much more professional.
and to answer the dcn question. just stick a 5.15 and a $1 stamp on there. that will cover the postage plus dcn. and you dont have a million stamps on the box.

Thanks, I like the 1$ idea. I think it would be a bad idea to walk in and ship 5 packs. its balls out, and I respect the bravado and middle finger up, but I dont think its ion any way worth the risk. Businesses and even your average Joe, or ebay seller for that matter, all dont have the time to deal with USPS lines etc. Just find all the blue boxes you can and try to get to know which ones ship faster. I strongly reccomend using Business/commerical roads if you have some of these areound you, I mean places where there are large corp Hq's etc. they will have express boxes too. The stamps are okay though. Maybe there is a way to get an account on stamps.com or zazzle using a fake address to register, theres got to be a way to do this, I know it because Ive received from vendors who print their stamps/postage and they are well established and keen on security. Just havent figured it out yet and honestly Im pretty happy with blue boxes and stamps for now :) . good thread though man, and I like the 1-2/box method, I think its fine if you dont have to move a ton of packs every day.

Over stamping is a red flag. It's best to use exact postage.

Moreso than filling up the upper half of the prio flat envelope with a 5.15, a 45 , and three tens or something? I mean I guess it could appear more professional and accurate that way, but it would also leave more of a footprint if your packs ever got picked. I dunno, just looing at it from both sides.

Yeah I don't think 10 cents over will raise any suspicion, now if you threw two 5.15s on that might be another story.

Over stamping is a much safer way as long as your not adding $3 extra postage.
2 stamps looks better than 4. It will ship either way, but in time this will become a red flag. '
I would love to find a way to have exact prepaid printed postage that is not tied to me.
As I said before, I have shipped a gazillion ebay things and such with click n ship or printed postage and never had a problem.
I have only been vending less than a month, and the stamp thing is killing me. I should hire an outside guy to do my APC shipping and reimburse him or something.
Thoughts?

I believe over stamping is only suspicious when shipping international, but don't quote me on that ;) You should definitely hire someone or even just get a friend to go in and buy some stamps but make sure to get a prepaid visa giftcard.

what this nigga said ^^
and fuck going out of your zip, or at least going out of more than 2-4.
lol, as long as you fuckers aren't putting your REAL return address..... wtf is going to happen?
paranoid much?
if you trust in your packaging methods/ or just have fucking mad skills @ packaging... then wtf is there to worry about
lucky we don't live in the NL
to quote the late, great Dr. Leary, Perfect paranoia is perfect awareness. I say if your gut tells you to move over a few zips, then do it. More people get busted by pattern recognition than they do for old fashioned shoe-leather cop work. Over confidence is your enemy imo.

Yeah what THIS NINJA SAID.
Paranoid much? nope....just covering my ass....its when you get all cocky and comfy dropping only in your own zip that shit starts to look grim when your package gets intercepted. Where you think is the first place they look....surveilance from that drop box if they can.
You're lying to yourself if you think yoy're safer staying only in your zip.

Most of the NL vendors don't give a shit because it is you that has to deal with the seizure, not their false address. You fucking tell him!

Yeah I guess as long they keep any blatant dna or indication of their general location off of their packaging they dont have to worry...My two fears (as a domestic only US vendor) has always been LEO placing orders and finding some hair or something.....
Somehow getting bagged electronically if LEA's were to try to do MITM attacks on tor users and find SR vendors. Always looking to make my hardware setup more secure for sure....packaging is in your control....if you wear gloves and do it carefully and make your drops at different places and different times etc. etc. then that's all good...its the interwebs I worry about lol

The lady at the business next door to mine takes HUNDREDS of USPS boxes to the post office every afternoon. She has a little green Honda and fills the back seat to the top. She sells promotional materials (pens with your name on it, etc.).
Now, granted that she is not sending anything illegal, so follow your gut. Point is, people/businesses do send out tons of packages daily.

I drop up to 4 boxes per blue bin. I also take note of pick up times listed on the boxes, many will be picked up several times through the day so I can spread out by dropes accordingly. I do use multiple drop points though and not just that one. I can report zero interceptions.
