As a buyer there's no real risk here except for physical importing and picking up the stuff. No way they are going to be able to track down bitcoin addresses by simply looking at blockexplorer. That would only work if they seized the SR guy's wallet.dat files, broke his encryption (unlikely), and then had the cooperation of every bitcoin exchanger on this earth to match the addresses up. Otherwise there is zero proof you ever paid SR unless they have his wallets in chain of evidence control.

Even just generating a new address on your desktop bitcoin-qt client and sending to it before sending to SR would be good enough plausible deniability. Truecrypt the wallet.dat file then wipe it after every transaction, generate a new wallet or use some online wallet through Tor like strongcoin

mdmamail, you mention "generating a new address on your desktop bitcoin-qt client." How do I do that? I've got the software installed, and I've sent bitcoins to it, but I can't see anything about generating a new address.
