Ok, I want to see the views of this.. I am a professional poker player in the USA. I also am a semi respected vendor and poster under another name... But before I out myself, I was wondering if there would be any interest in "selling" myself for the World Series of Poker..
Lets say there are 500 units available at 100 dollars a piece, I use that money as entry fee into one of the events, I go deep and cash or do really well and win hundreds of thousands, then whoever bought a piece of me gets that same percentage in my winnings... so, the more pieces that you own and I win, the more you win..
Lets just say that I have won my fair share in the WSOP in recent years and am a damn fine poker player..
There is risk involved. I may not cash, so that has to be realized. but, all I would have to do is go deep into one of 3 or 4 tourneys and it could be a good pay off/investment.
Players have been doing this since the invention of poker... Im essentially a horse and you are betting on my to finish in the money... I will buy most of my own shares so that the math wont be hard to figure out, so lets say you invest 500 into me out of a total of 10,000 you would get 1/20 of all my winnings at the WSOP. The more money i get, the more events i can enter, hence the higher chance of me going deep..
If this is a crazy idea, just let me know, but if I would have offered this last year, and you invested 500 into me, you would have received 1300.00 Granted, this is high risk, high reward..... any and all comments welcome. Bad idea/good idea/ forget about it....

This seems too much of a risk tbh. I mean, without your identity, how are we supposed to know that you are actually any good at poker? It seems that someone who has cashed in the WSOP before as you say, would be able to front 10 grand, if you are that confident of your ability. I am not saying you aren't.. but it does remain to be seen.

Many pros do this. If I wanted to play in all the events in the WSOP it would easily cost me over 75k and thats not including the 1millilon entry one...
Poker is about odds, the more you play, the higher chances you have of winning. I know one guy that was backed by 50k dollars not one dollar was his and he made his backers a lot of money...
Sure, I can enter some events on my own without any help, but I would like to enter as many as possible. Instead of 3 I could maybe enter 5 or more..Just gives me some more wiggle room.
A great poker player friend of mine was in a dry spell for a couple years, his house was in forclosure, etc. he got a few backers and and he won 3 bracelets and over 6 million in winnings, yet, before the wsop he couldnt make his house payment...
This is very common, to back a player, and the amount can be anything, reallly, 1 buck or 10 bucks, but the return would reflect it..
There are no gurantees in any thing.. I have done very well for a month straight then went dry, its all about odds and abilitity... I understand that this risky, but what isnt that is worthwhile? People pay all the time for those bitcoin auctions, thats a complete risk, whereas poker, there is skill involved.
To answer your question, i could just enter myself in a few tourneys, but my chances are better if I can get in as many as possible, hence the backing... the entry fees range from 1k all the way up to 1million, the ones i would be entering would be between 1k and 3k....

How exactly would you escrow this, because if you couldn't I am calling this sketchy.

There's no way of escrowing it, he'd require the cash up front to buy his seat.

I knew this would be difficult, probably impossible, but i am legit, 100 percent.. Im just trying to get more entries into the wsop...
But its not a scam.... limet, message sent..

Since ive already seen so much skepticism without any real debate. I wont be asking for any backers at all. Next year, Ill think it out much further ahead and see how it can be done, but to call me a scam is so damned typical of this site.. There are descent people and legit people here...Not everyone here is a scammer..

No, it didnt matter if i only got 500 dollars, the main event is 10k. they have like 30 different events ranging from 1k entry all the way up to 1million..

While I wont be able to say "exactly" how I did in the wsop, I can only be vague, since my identity is now compromised... I will report back to say how well (or bad) I did..

I could escrow it, just use credit cards, or whatever and show receipts proving that i paid my entry fee....

Given that this is Chronic I happily take back my initial suspicion. If you can't trust a fellow Mod who can you trust?
-
Thank you limetless, Im glad you said that. I was feeling a bit.....weird..... But, if anyone is interested, hit me up and we can work something out.. I still have to figure out how to keep my anonymity..

No worries, it's all about the Mod-solidarity brother! :)
I unlocked the thread as well because now we know it's you then people should be allowed to shout interest.

Trust only yourself! Give away as much trust as you need to get where you want without giving it all away
