Karma is meant to be a general indicator of the respectability/helpfulness/trustworthiness of people on the forum. So for example you will find that known douche bags have something like +1/-15 and respected sellers/helpers have +20/-2.
You need 100 posts to be able to give out karma.
Unfortunately though the karma system can be somewhat misleading, as someone with 100 posts can still be an asshole, as I am determined to prove 8)

To a point. But I think if you're +100/-5 due to your knowledge of security/shipping etc then its a fair assumption that what that person is saying on that topic is probably correct (key word: probably).
As for the typing.. It could be.. Dare I say.. The.. Drugs?

An Error Has Occurred!
Sorry, you can't repeat a karma action without waiting 72 hours.
I was gonna posikrma you for the drugs comment. But alas, I cant.
Also, yes, if you see someone posting who is obviously well respected and has great karma, I suggest you take what they have to say seriously.
Even if its "I like cereal."

Are you one of those people that type with only your pointer fingers? If so that would make sense why you may have typos periodically. Learn the proper way of typing, it takes a little while getting used to, and you'll probably actually be typing slower at first, but once you get a hang of it you will find many benefits from it. You can type speedier and more accurate. Plus it's a little more comfortable on the hands in my opinion. There are ways to learn it, you can start off by buying one of those rubber keypads that make the letters unreadable, and then just get to typing. Whether it's on a website that trains you to do it, or just through notepad I promise you'll be a boss typer in no time. I used to type at 35 wpm which is pretty standard, but after I took a keyboarding class in grade school I kid you not I got up to 100 accurate wpm at one point. Now I'm at 80 but it's still pretty awesome.

I use my left index and right middle finger when typing. Or both index fingers. Or any combination of 2, 3, and 4 fingers you can think of. (Pinkys included)
I've been thinking about learning the proper way to type. But dont see much of a need as I don't do it for anything other than recreational fun. :D
