Title: Few questions
Post by: Dankasaurus on September 26, 2013, 05:05 pm
1. Opening Tor, starting it with the onion software, and then doing whatever on SR, posting, messaging, and all that is the proper way to do things safely on here, right?

2. On Localbitcoins, is it necessary to use an active, REAL email for registration, or just a throw away like just about everything else? Because I know it is legal to purchase BTC, so I'm unsure about that too.

3. In the Account Settings here, it asks for a REAL email that you use: "This must be a valid email address." Should I use a normal one that I use for other everyday things, or create a special one just for SR?

Thanks :D

Yes, use Tails, or Tor browser bundle.  You might want to turn off javascript in Noscript.

#2
You need a functioning email, see #3.  Only access your localbitcoin account from tor, do not attach your real phone.
***unless you're going to use bitcoinfog to launder your coin

#3
Never use your normal email here.  Make an email just for your illegal activities, and only access it through tor.  Do not connect your Facebook etc.

Alright, I had planned on using Bitcoin Fog to launder them, why is a phone number necessary? I'll most likely not go through Fog now because I really don't need my number out there either.

And for the email for the account, what email do you recommend? Legit like hotmail/gmail/yahoo, etc.? or something like safe-mail/mailinator/tormail?

No, a phone number isn't necessary.  I don't use one for my meets.

For localbitcons... you could use whatever email.  I don't think it much matters as long as your using bitcoinfog and laundering your coin properly.  Yet Ideally you'd want to buy the coin anonymously, and use an anonymous email separated from real life etc.

No, you said a phone number isn't necessary UNLESS I plan on using Bitcoin Fog to launder my BTC.

I said do not attach your REAL phone to localbitcoins. (As opposed to a burner phone)  Do not do this, unless you are going to using bitcoinfog.

Clearer now?

Bitcoinfog does not have any way in which phones are used with it, at least to my knowledge.

Go to both sites and read... figure out how they are used.

And I've got another batch of questions too if that's cool. :o
