A popular solution among sellers when they do custom, in-escrow orders is to create a custom item with no description, send the link to the buyer, and proceed as normal from there. The problem is, this tends to add clutter to the index if the item isn't deleted as soon as it can be, and if the seller specifies the buyer's username in the listing, it can reveal that a specific buyer is ordering *something* custom, whatever it may be.
This is why I propose the option of listing an item as an "unlisted" item that exists in the system, but is not indexed in any category and cannot easily be stumbled upon. The only way to order it is if you know its item number / URL. Think of it like a private, unlisted YouTube video, except for buying contraband instead of watching a dancing cat. ;)

Sounds like a good idea to me, i'm not normally bothered when I see one but when you got 5-6 custom listings stacked in a row and your Tor is running as slow as a stoned snail then it does become hassle.
lets hope it gets implemented.

Yeah I've noticed custom listings that hang around forever.. I always wondered what the quantity would be listed as, if you tried to buy someone elses custom listing? 70? lol. Personally,I think it should be set at qty1, and expire after confirmation, as custom listings rarely have any useful info to the purchaser anyway.
