Yes. Multilayer with metalized barrier - you should see NO light through bag even with strong light. 5-7mil for super protection. (long shipping times)

No they are not.

You want to get a Moisture Barrier Bags (MBB), EIA 583 Class 1/ MIL-B-81705C.

3.6 mil is good, 6 is better.

I am ordering:

Typical MVTR (moisture vapor transfer rate) of < .005 using ASTM F 1249 test method
Puncture resistance of 30 lbs using FTMS 101 MTH 2065 test method
Meets electrical and physical requirements of MIL-PRF-81705 Type 1, EIA 583, EIA 541, EIA 625 and EOS/ESD Standards
Static dissipative non-sparking inner and outer layers
Amine free prevents outgassing and corrosion
Heat sealable and may be nitrogen flushed or vacuum packed
    Thickness: 7.0 mils
    100 per package
    Opening width: 4"
    Inside Length: 6"

Thanks so much!

ALL-Spec is the most thorough seller of MBB's I have found .. 3.6m to 7mm, ALL sizes.

Yes, just like we said :)

make sure you get correct heat sealer, cheap/normal heat sealers cannot seal 14mils worth of material.

After reading the above posts, would it not be diligent to utilise both Multi layer Mylar &  MBB?

I would speculate that the potential increases in 'stealth' afforded by the use of both these in packaging would increase the safety factor for both vendors and customers.

Would this be the case?

Overkill, This Is Serious Mum.

If you want to be on the safe safe safe side get 7mil MBB instead of the 3.6mil and use a 5mm seal.

Great LionwareTradingCo  !

MIL-PRF-81705 Type I = MIL-B-81705 Type I (old specification)
