I used tradehill before they closed, now Dwolla wants my SSN before transfering to MT. Gox - is that what everyone does?
i don't like the users that offer the service because 10% fee is too much

It looks like I can use this "bit instant" to transfer cash to bitcoins - from Dwolla to silkroad

There are so many different ways to get your cash into bitcoin. Everyone will tell you something different. Bitinstant.com is what I use. I use the cash deposit option at my local walmart. (Cash deposit to bitcoin to email). After depositing, Coinapult sends you an email so you can send your BTC to your own address. I send it to BitcoinFog, and from there I send it to my Silk Road account.

Here is one way.

Bitinstant is the way to go . . . simple and fast.

Buy a Money Pack, contact Coinbox this weekend, he'll exchange it for BTC's for $15 or so. Easy.

In Germany we have a new "Geldwäschegesetz" this means no more anonymous e-money voucher over 100EUR without an ID.... this sucks so hard. Glad I have my ways to get them.

Bitinstant charges 3.99% if I recall correctly.

You're right shroom, 3.99%. However, this is when you use ZipZap. If you transfer monies using the other options Bitinstant offers, the fees vary quite a bit.
I like Bitinstant. I can go to a CVS or other such business and hand the cashier cash which then gets sent to ZipZap. Bitinstant then deposits my BTC to my account. I takes about an hour for everything to happen.

It has been a while for me since I have done this, but I do not know wtf zipzap is. :\
Bitinstant to TrustCash (I think) to Wells Fargo Cash Deposit..... to BTC address.

localbitcoins.com
bitcoinary.com
you guys should help as much as possible to grow the P2P/local/F2F exchanges.

Bitinstant to email charges 3.99% + $1.00 for transactions up to $99.99 (plus Coinapult/Trustcash charges an extra 1%) or 4.49% + $1.00 for over $100 (plus the extra 1%). So trying to deposit $99.99 ends up being $101.xx (the cents are randomish and different each time) and I got 8.8xx bitcoins yesterday for my original $101.20 deposit. I can't math but these fees seem acceptable to me, at least for the small amounts I'm depositing.

Yeah I agree, Bungee54. I quite like localbitcoins.com, mostly geeks selling and buying bitcoins. Meet them give em some cash and get some bitcoins, ta da... I know not anonymous, but quick and easy.

Hi shroom,
I'm not an expert, but my understanding is the deposit cash option where you go to a participating business (Walmart, 7-11, CVS, etc.) works through the Moneygram network. Zipzap is the company that handles these cash transactions. Here's a link if you'd like to check them out:

I agree also.
I have used them both in the past (before the days of SR) with a "decent" amount of success. my only concern would be we got newbies here that are trading MPs because they are afraid of the unknown of bitinstant. I simply can not imagine most of them going and meeting someone face to face.
