Title: Is Dwolla a safe way to buy BTC?
Post by: psychedelicinsight on April 17, 2012, 05:32 am
I've been getting paranoid with the breach in security in Farmersmarket and some recent posts about getting busted through BTC. I've been using putting direct deposits into dwolla, which then buy BTC.

Is this safe enough? I buy from get-bitcoin if this helps.

Dwolla has new rules starting today, you have to link your account to facebook and other bullshit.
I'd stop using it. Cash bank deposit only through trustcash (at least it's anonymous) or through other members on the bitcointalk forum

I use Dwolla, and they definitely don't make you connect to Facebook or anything like that. You have the option to but that is all. It's really not a big deal. Look, LE doesn't have time to hunt down every buyer. It would cost way too much money and time. Unless you're buying thousands of dollars worth of product on a weekly basis, you won't even register on their radar. There's far too many huge vendors they want to take down to be spending their whole budget taking down the guy that spends a couple thousand over the course of a year on an anonymous network. It's not worth their time to build the case against you.

I believe they do now if you want to transfer funds to Mt.Gox.
