Title: "Mandatory" review for orders FE (Finalized Early)
Post by: RiseAbove976 on July 19, 2012, 09:51 pm
I have noticed that many vendors (especially when selling to customers internationally) may require to Finalize Early (FE). When this happens, the customer will often give a "5 out of 5" rating and say "FE will update when order comes". However, more than 95% of buyers never actually come back to update their review (which SR allows you to do although it may not be a prominently displayed feature i.e. one has to look for it). This way a potential new buyer has no way of knowing if the order was actually received, quality was good, packaging adequate, etc.

Is there a way to implement some kind of feature / solution that will require buyers who finalize early to return to post feedback after a given period of time (say 30 days)? I understand FE is frowned upon by SR admin but let's be honest it happens quite a bit and in result can have a large skewing effect on vendor ratings.

What do you think?

Perhaps a finzlie early checkbox when you review and if checked you can skip the review then have SR alert you in a week or 2 that you have reviews to complete.

I like that idea. That way the final review does not happen until the transaction has come to some kind of conclusion...

They won't ever implement something like this because FE defeats the purpose of the escrow escrow system, breaks the feedback system, and screws over the buyers. The way they should handle it is by stopping vendors from requiring everyone to FE.
