Title: My horrible experience with an absolutely inept vendor, mrhumboldt
Post by: dankology on June 03, 2012, 12:24 am
Let me start by saying I had bought from him a time or two before this recent buy.  They were very good flawless transactions.  This last time however was absolutely ridiculous and the WORST experience i've ever had with a vendor.

I ordered a QP from him like usual, everything seemed to be going good but the shipping took almost a week.  When I received the package it was....open and empty.  There were two stamps on the front side that said "Received Without Contents" and a red line across the envelope.  After some research I discovered that "received without contents" basically means your shit got stolen in transit.  So to start off, his packaging was THAT poor.  Some lowly USPS worker could tell what was inside, and took that shit and sent the package onward.  It was simply a large bubble mailer, and I am guessing there was no effort to hide the inside contents.  So after telling him this and providing pictures (also offering to take pictures at any possible angle to prove I was not manipulating photos) he tells me that it is not his fault and that he is not responsible for what happens once it leaves his hands.  So basically he was telling me I was not getting a refund period.  This frustrated me as I do not understand why I should take the WHOLE fall for something that neither of us could help (except he could have packaged it a little less shitty).  I bring it into resolution and provide the pictures I gave him.  I only asked for a 50% refund so that we both don't just lose out.  Considering 50%  of $850 should no doubt cover the cost of a homegrown QP from humboldt county, I felt I was being more than reasonable and in fact should have asked for a larger refund but as a vendor I understand these things happen.  So his response is.....0% refund, and states that it was not his fault and he refuses to do any sort of refund whatsoever because it was the USPS fault.  So he's basically saying I HAVE to take the whole fall.  I was blown away.  I would NEVER treat a customer the way I was treated during something like this ESPECIALLY if said buyer provided plenty of proof like I did.

So we go back and forth a couple times, with him continually offering absolutely nothing for the problem and refusing to compromise at all.  As my last message I provided picture proof and offered to take more pictures for DPR since I know he was going to have to settle the case.  I ended up getting my 50% refund from DPR/SR Staff thank god.   Another one of his reasons he refused a refund is because the DCN said "delivered".  It makes me wonder if he just sent an empty package for the sole reason of making a quick $850 with no repercussions.  I would NEVER treat any of my customers like this and I feel the need to out this guy so everyone can use him with discretion.  He has good nugget and shit, but if any problems arise do NOT expect him to EVER be considerate to you or compromise whatsoever.  Please use extreme caution if you feel the NEED to buy from this guy.  There are plenty of wonderful nugget dealers that do NOT treat their customers like bullshit.  I have never encountered a more inept vendor with such horrible business practices.

Feel free to ask questions about the situation and I will answer them to the best of my ability.  Be extremely wary of this guy from now on.  Thanks a lot SR Staff for getting me the measly 50% I asked for.  I lost out ~430 bucks and just think about how much money he lost (if any....)  He lost MUCH less than I did, if anything depending on the cost of the QP and still refused any sort of compromise.  Some people here are just full of true, disgusting, greed.

I have to agree that his packaging is atrocious.  I was just lucky my order arrived.  These vendors simply do not understand how important shipping is to product safety.

Fuck this guy, given that you are a well known/respected vendor on here I think it's pretty ridiculous that he behaved this way knowing that you could do a thread like this. Even taking out the ethics which he clearly left outside for the rain business-strategy-wise this was a complete and utter fucking epic failure. He could have actually turned it around in his favour by helping out a fellow Playa when things went bad and got some kudos for it.

Thanks for warning everyone about this Dank, even if it was out of a bad experience. Will help people in the future. :)

Bump just to make sure this is seen by everyone possible.   His rating is still at a 100%, Im guessing, due to the amount of sales he has made.  Hes completed a lot of transactions so unfortunately my feedback will only bump him down a few 0.1's.  Thats the one thing I don't like about the new feedback system.

Send him a bomb threat? C4 and Ricin via UPS express? That's what I do if I get bad customer service IRL, find their customer service email and send in a bomb threat from Tormail. I have one typed out so I can just C+P it. Perfected it and everything so they may actually think it's real

Thanks for sharing your experience dankology.  I see that mrhumboldt has now return from vacation, hopefully he has improved his packaging skills.  I'll be wary to order from him if USPS can get their hands on the product.

I ordered a QP of Bubba Kush from them recently.  The packaging is "ok", not as good as the other top cannabis vendors.  Packaging requires the nugs to be compressed.  I have no problem with this but the entire QP was still wet.  It failed the stem snap test, it had a kush smell but it wasn't like the bubba kush I had before, smokes harsh (gets better if you dry it yourself).  For the price he is charging, I would definitely NOT purchase the bubba kush again.  I want to buy bud that have been completely dried and at least cured for at least a week or so (which is the standard from other vendors)

This was my first order from him so it might just be the Bubba Kush that isn't up to par, I should've tried his master kush; I think that is comparable to norcal420's master.

His Jack Herer was pretty dank. The smell was super pungent, the buds had awesome red hairs and they were fluffy and uncompressed. The taste was weird - almost tasted like chemicals. I got told by others that it was a little weird, but they didn't mind it. The packaging...well... worked? It needed to by actually vacuum sealed - upon opening the first "layer" it started to stink up the place. Overall, my experience was average. I have been getting spoiled by HumboldtsFinest  8)  -- I just wanted to try some Jack.

I ordered an ounce of his trim /shake off of him and it was packaged horribly. Add that to the fact that my ounce was a couple grams short and the shake was damp. Also, the shake was supposed to be from Master Kush; I have tried Master Kush and this shake didn't come from Master Kush at all.

I messaged him about this nonsense and he just read my message and ignored it.

People should be aware that they're dealing with a narcissistic asshole vendor who thinks he can do NO wrong.

I just got a QP off of HumboldtsFinest. The packaging was fine. No smell, color layers, it was legit.

The bud was... well it was fucking ridiculous. In a good way. This is the best bud I've ever smoked (Blue Dream). So thick with trichs, smokes smooth, and has a wonderful hybrid buzz. Very energetic. I'll definitely be getting some more off of HumboldtsFinest.

I want to thank the OP for his honesty. I've been considering a Humboldt order for a long time and this was the deal-breaker.

Same here. I woke up this morning ready to order so I am very glad I stopped in the forums first. OP probably just saved me lots of money. It's ridiculous he offered no refund at all, especially with all the proof. Sorry it happened, but thank you for sharing.

A while back I placed a order for the  AAA Master Kush QP and it I had a great experience.  Besides the terrible shipping, the product was amazing. It was dried and cured just right, trimmed properly, and was harvested during peak potency.  I could have have been more satisfied with the bud. This was before he went on "vacation".  When he put his listings back up I messaged him asking him if 1. I could do a bulk listing for the whole P  2. if he could put it in a box. I get no reply  at all. I wait a couple of days and asked him again thinking he may have forgot to respond, once again no response. I just forget about it and place the order for 3 QPs, in a matter of 5 min I get a message from him telling me that he was going to ship them all separate and on different days. So right off I realize hes been ignoring me this whole time. Long story short I get the master kush and it is not at all like the first batch. Its damp, not cured all the way, not trimmed properly, some of the buds seem to have nutrient burn, and is harsh (and not potent). All he had to say was "sorry it wasnt like the last." Dont advertise your bud as AAA if its not.  I have had nothing but good experiences from many other vendors, and Im not surprised at all that this happened after reading this thread.

What a joke. mrhumboldt is a good vendor and this thread doesnt even matter because his shit will still sell. I agree with the seller in that 0% liability is all that can be expected if the probable is within USPS.

I have to disagree with you on that 100% American....as a buyer I pay the high prices on SR to get drugs DELIVERED to my door im not paying for ATTEMPTED deliverys....insuring that the product is packed properly so it can reach the buyer is the sellers responsibility. As a buyer im not gonna pay a vendor for something I never recieved

Seems like we got the same damp and uncured bud.  No reason to use this vendor when there are a bunch of others that actually provides properly CURED buds and professional packaging.  Order at your own risk, if you are happy with wet bud, then be our guest.

just thought id add a review of my recent purchase of 2 oz master kush with mrhumboldt. im not sure why so many people are hating on him. Mine arrived in 3 days with flawless packaging as far as i could tell, the bud was beautiful, seemed to be cured fine, it was a great smoke. The buds were decent size, no shake and it was 2 gs overweight. I guess mrhumboldt just gets lazy sometimes and doesn't care about being 100% consistent with all his orders. He keeps getting great reviews, looks like every now and then hell screw up with an order. I will order from him again soon with hopefully the same results.

He has never screwed me over and wouldn't call him a scammer unless he actually scammed me.  He flaked twice on sending my order out and hasn't responded to my messages.  He did say he was busy so I'm hoping he just flaked again, it's just very odd not to hear back in a timely manner from him.  I'm sure everything will work out, but I just wanted to inform buyers of my current situation.  I'm not saying don't buy from him, just that his behavior is not consistent with my previous transactions with him.

Sometimes I wonder if people really think about what they're bitching about. Can you really get mad about the illegal drugs that you bought on the internet? Nobody got arrested or robbed at gunpoint so I'd say everyone  made out pretty well. All these vendors are at the mercy of their suppliers, just like us customers are at the mercy of the vendors, that's how this game is played.

I can only imagine the amount of whiny crybaby messages this guy gets each day, probably gets old real quick. I've found that being genuinely honest and nice when approaching vendors with questions or concerns always gets timely and respectful responses. If you hadn't blasted him on the forums he might have hooked you up on your next order for being a loyal customer after an incident like that. I've never had problems with mrhumboldt and none of these posts make me hesitate to buy from him again. He's got some of the best weed I've ever smoked.

What the hell are you talking about?  These forums were created for us buyers to share info and help each other out.  The guy who made this thread wrote a very unemotional detail of what happened.  MrHumboldt could have replied at any point in time.  Sharing your experience with others is the whole point of these forums.  It is not whining.  Don't be such a tool.

I have had two experience with MrHumboldt and both have them have been very good.  I smoked the Jack Herer, which was excellent and I ordered a sample of the sour OG, which was better than excellent.  The packages were delivered very quickly and the packaging was "fine."  It did the job but that was for a sample and a quarter oz.  If he used the same packaging with a QP, that could be an issue IMO.

I also ordered a quarter of cheese from mrhumboldt. It was my first purchase and I have to say that I'm slightly concerned. Maybe it's just my first time buyer nerves but I placed the order Sunday evening, he marked it as in transit on Monday daytime, which I assume means it was shipped Tuesday morning. I see on his feedback that east coaster's are getting packages in 2 days or so. I don't know if he actually shipped it later than marked, if something happened to the package, or I'm just getting spun for $100. Hopefully next week I get my package and I can forget everything and just get stoned. :) I will update with results.

I'm in the same boat. I placed my order with him early in the week. It was marked as "in transit" Tuesday night. Now it's Saturday and I have nothing. All previous orders from him were received 2 days after the day he mailed it. His profile states he sometimes doesn't make it to the post office on Wednsdays, but even when he has mailed my shit on Thursdays previously, it has always gotten here by Saturday. Now his profile just claims hes entirely sold out for the first time ever since I've been dealing with him and it's starting to sketch me out about the whole deal. Looking forward to the rest of this story as it unfolds.

It eases me a bit that somebody is in the same boat. As much as I would just like to get what I paid for I sincerely hope he hasn't put me on bullshit. I find it hard to pay for any of even a portion of something that I never received. I don't really think using the resolve button is in anybody's best interest as it seems like it just pisses off the vendor and makes the seller look bad via his/her stats. I have felt pretty weird about waiting for the mail for week or so now with no produce and seeing reviews of east coasters getting items in 2 days. I guess at best, the situation didn't require anyone to FE.

Being swamped makes sense, but why would he mark an order as in transit if he hasn't actually sent it? Then wait a week or longer and the send? I'm hoping for the best.
