Dr Deep Wood chime in if you could..

How hard is this to synth?   Would it require similar precursors to MDMA?

MDAT is a drug developed in the 1990s by a team at Purdue University led by David E. Nichols.[1] It appears to act as a serotonin releasing agent based on rodent drug discrimination assays comparing it to MDMA, in which it fully substitutes for, and additionally lacks any kind of serotonergic neurotoxicity.[1] Hence, MDAT is considered likely to be a non-neurotoxic, putative entactogen in humans.

Theirs little info out their regarding MDAT. Ive done a little research on synthesis here is some stuff you might find interesting.

 
NH2 will not be found on its own and usually bonds to a methyl group.

5-hydroxy-6-methyl-2-aminotetralin. Would be a good starting point . use the Barton deoxygenation to remove the  hydroxyl group

 Then Using reduction of  nitro compounds to reduce Nitryl Chloride utilizing NaOH / H2O or SnCl2 / HCl you could add the needed amino group.

Please keep in mind I am not a chemist.

You can always go the route the inventor tried out *shrugs, picks up the medical journal* *flips until finds* *scans in* *looks for pdf onion uploader*

Any recommendations for a file about 1.2MB ?
