Title: USPS "prepaid forever" priority mail shipping
Post by: firestorm on January 26, 2012, 10:01 pm
Was perusing the USPS website and stumbled upon this nifty little option:

http://uspsstore.stamps.com/Store/catalog/product.jsp?id=pmsfrb&navAction=jump&navCount=1

You can buy bulk discounted priority mail boxes/envelopes or whatever that are already assigned a tracking number for free and since you've already prepaid the postage you can grab it and just stuff it into a blue box, if necessary even spread out over a wider geographical area.  Seems pretty good to me, is there something I'm missing out on here?

What do you guys think about this?

I have been thinking about these. But to make them safe you would definitely need to bum Wifi to set up the account, pay with a visa gift card, and then ship them to an address you have absolutely no affiliation with(that part im stuck on now). But these look like it would be a great way to make your mail seem very business like.

I would buy 100 of those if I could do it securely.

So.... People who aren't doing illegal things can buy them and then sell them here? Great.

I believe they have the return address printed on them, so they would have to be custom orders for the sellers state and zip code.

I would pay a shit load to anyone who was willing to buy these. They look so incredibly professional...way more professional and secure than using stamps.

I wish I could, but I have too much at risk already, y'know?

I having been waiting to do this for a while. Like someone said, bum a wifi signal and a untraceable visa gift card. now, i have that wifi signal, I just need to go get a visa gift card, i believe they are called vanilla? But, yes, they are very professional looking, dont need stamps and Id bet dollars to doughnuts that said packages would be easier to get thru customs, etc...

I'll buy them and reship them.  How much you wanna pay?  I'll beat anyones rate because it's not illegal for me to do this, nor do I have anything at stake.

It appears each box costs $5.35 no matter how many you buy, it's for domestic use only, each one includes a free DCN, all address labels will contain the customer's return address in the upper left corner of the label, each box is 5 3/8" x 8 5/8" x 1 5/8", and can hold up to 70 pounds.

And it appears as though people can order up to 10 3-packs, 5-packs, 10-packs, or 25-packs. So it sounds like someone could order anywhere from 3 to 250 of these things at once ($16.05 to $1337.50).

Although I'm wondering if the return address on each box is the same address they are shipped to.

This is probably going to be the problem

PM me with the details you'd like on them and the amount you'd want, I'll get on it today.
