Title: Tails 0.19 Update
Post by: Pure Red Eye on June 26, 2013, 02:01 pm
So i login today to see that there is an update to Tails. I downloaded the Iso and and uploaded with linux pendrive only to get an error, i formatted the USB and then tried to re-download the Iso file and the Tails webpage keeps giving me the error 404 not found. Im assuming that the Iso was corrupt and the Devs have taken down the link till the Iso is fixed. Anyone managed to update sucessfully?

Not sure if this is related ... earlier I noticed the 0.19 tab was linking to the old 0.18 url - you may have downloaded the old version.

I have. I successfully updated from 0.18 to 0.19 while keeping persistence partition intact.

How did you keep the persitent folder?

First you burn Tails 0.19 to DVD (too big for CD now).
Then you boot from the LiveCD.
Insert your existing Tails 0.18 LiveUSB with Persistence.
Select Applications>Tails>Tails USB Installer.
From the pop-up menu select "Clone & Upgrade".
Select your USB from the drop-down menu.
Click "Create LiveUSB".
Click "Next".
Allow the application to finish, then shutdown PC, remove DVD, and boot from USB.

This will only update the boot partition and leave the persistent partition intact.
