Title: Neighbor stole my package?
Post by: MekkaLekkaHigh on April 01, 2012, 01:11 am
I've been waiting a week for a package to come from Galindoi, so I decided to shoot him a message. He shows me the DCN and I find out it was delivered 2 days ago.

I have 2 groups of neighbors, most are straight, and I think they would give me my package if they realized they accidentally took it. The other group is a bunch of dipshits who would kill me for $50 if they had the chance. Total drug addict scum bags.

Do I have any options here? Should I speak to the mailman to see where he delivered it to exactly? Or should I just let it go?

This fucking sucks.

Best option would probably be to admit defeat... Asking the postman won't help, if DCN says it was delivered, it certainly was.

Go round to the scumbags house and stare them straight in the face and say "Where is my package". You should be able to tell from their body language if they are lying to you. If you think they are, and you've bought the capsules from Galindoi, say "you stole my health supplements. I have a postal tracking number to prove that it was left here, I am calling the police unless you give me my package right now, or give me $100 cash".

If you've ordered straight up shrooms that aren't powdered and in capsules, you can still probably go round and intimidate them, but you won't be able to call the post office.

If its powdered I'd call up the post office because you can always say that its a health supplement.

Passive aggressive works best.

Kill their pets, if they have them.

Vandalize their car, fuck, burn their house down and make them move!

You don't *KNOW* its stolen.  I would say talk to the mailman definitely.  I have no fucking problem talking to postal works, some people here are way too paranoid.  I've had to chase down my mailman in my car to get a package from him because my stonerhead friend didnt put my house number on it and a fake return address so i was gonna lose the package.  Talked to him a sec about the situation(package with no house number on it), he pulled my package out (a quarter of nug) and I could smell it the whole time he was handling it, he scanned it to confirm delivery and handed it over after we shot the shit for a minute.  Didn't notice a god damn thing.

To OP: You need to go and make a friend called Vincent, if you don't have one called Vincent already. Go into your neighbor's house and say act out this scene: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eRVm_TAE24A Make sure you change the Marcellus Wallace bit to your own name though....

Dankology is the voice of reason.

DCN does not guarantee your package will be delivered to the one you intended.  DCN only confirms it was delivered.  There are several possible reasons why any piece of mail didn't make it to the one it was meant for.  Probably at the bottom of that list is "the neighbor stole it".  Somewhere at the top of the list is sender/receiver error.  Shippers sometimes make a mistake in addressing the pkg and sometimes the buyer unwittingly makes a typo when giving the shipper their address.  Mail carriers deliver mail to addresses..not names.  Screw up the addressee's name and the mail will still get to where it is addressed.  Mistakenly transpose one digit for another and that pkg could very well be delivered to someone who lives across town.  2223 Pine St. is not even on the same block as 3223 Pine St.  Unless the sender made a photographic  record of the label before sending off their won't be an way to tell unless you find the missing pkg after the fact.  All you can reasonably do is follow the advice given by Dankology and hope for the best.

If you ship enough packages, eventually (and for any number of reasons, some beyond your control))one of them is just not going to make it.  If you make enough purchases of merchandise that needs to be shipped to you..eventually one of them is not going to show up and most likely you'll never know what happened to it.  There is not always going to be someone to blame. This is the way of the world.  Acceptance is all we have sometimes.

Good lord, you are so idiotic.

Don't you dare mention another word about it. If you go around asking for your package of illegal drugs, or accuse others of stealing your package of illegal drugs, you will only end up potentially harming SR. This is the kind of stuff that will bring us down.

Next time, you have to make sure your dumb ass is home the day the shipment is being delivered so you can pick it up from the postman. If it wasn't your neighbor that stole it, imagine if it were some kids that ended up fucking themselves up? Please be more careful.

Sellers, please start providing tracking numbers as a general rule. Buyers, please start always asking for tracking numbers.

No, you fucking idiot, do not ask the mailman what happened to your illegal drug shipment. Please, for the love of God, go buy a brain before you do any more drugs.

You have to leave it alone and take the loss.

I just realized that you had someone else order the package for you and have it delivered to you? Ok, just stop using SR. You have lost all your SR privledges. Don't order another package, because you are too stupid to understand the problems that you could cause for everyone.

Kidx you have issues bro. Calling me an idiot and stupid lol.

No one ordered the package for me, and I was home on the day of delivery.

Go see a psychiatrist please.

Wow, Kidx you're really going a bit far. You need to CTFO. Dankology is right on this one. Don't let paranoia get the best of you and just have a word with the postman.

You are the idiot, sir. You aren't the only one taking a loss here. The vendor's taking the big loss - they now have a HUGE security hole in a missing package. That could lead to their fingerprints, DNA, handwriting, etc. being recovered and it also tips postal inspectors off as to that vendor's packaging style/methods. You should do everything in your power you can to get your hands on the package so that it doesn't get discovered by law enforcement accidentally.

While I agree with ProfADaemon, getting the package back is the optimal choice.. assuming you know your postal person (Mine walks by every day and we chat often), a conversation about a recent package not showing up is not unusual for a postal person.  Your body language and ability to keep cool is really the only potential to fuck up this moment.

As to the packaging, excluding 100% LEO interception, the package misdelivered.  It has potential to be anywhere in your town, but most likely is within the neighborhood.  Your postal person is a busy person, but may remember a recent delivery, even to the point of saying "Yes I put it on top of your mailbox, etc etc".. then you know it was swiped by A-holes.

As to the contents, assuming the person swiping it wasn't in on the whole process (Friend), no body would really be able to figure out the contents without a specific lab test for the product inside.  I find this highly unlikely considering my product.
As to DNA, fingerprints, all precautions are being taken by myself.  I bear this responsibility alone, and would not put it on my buyer.. I love my buyers, but simply can't trust of of them with my own choice and safety.

Most likely, someone got the subterfuge gift, ecstatically, and then either tossed or unknowingly consumed a few of sample packaging products contain therein.

I feel safe for this person, in that I find it would be near impossible for them to be compromised by the package itself.  Little bummed assholes ruined a good transaction between us.

As for identification of location based on postal markings, mischief managed.

I contacted USPS through the phone, but I was unable to catch my mailman delivering today. They are going to look into it for me, and I will continue trying to contact my mail deliverer.

The reason I suspect my neighbors is because our neighborhood has all the mailboxes in one place. It is very possible the mailman dropped the package in the wrong box, and the scumbags just took it home. I'll probably never find it.

Anyways, thanks for all your replies. I'll be sure to update if I get some more details.
