Sheesh! I thought I was reasonably smart but I can't seem to even get past first base - at least Anonymously, In Austalia...
I went to the public library to purchase Bitcoins via Cryptoxchange but failed to even get a Bitcoin Address (was that because I was in a library ((public))) ??
I've read guru's strategy but I guess it's for the U.S.
Any help from someone with experience? I think lack of cubensis is dulling my wits.

Try spendbitcoins.com and follow the prompts. You will need a dodgy email and will have to go into the bank to make a deposit but this can be done with no name given. A public computer is the way to go...

instawallet.org bitcoin address, get SBC to send to there. then its upto you

Some bitcoin exchanges don't do well with public addresses... could be the problem.

Thanks for the reply - I forged ahead, tentatively and carefully ... I humbly admit I found my brain spinning after a while and needed a coffee break and a nap! But patience and persistence draws the prize.
I joined CryptoXchange.com (even though they said they would reject public pc usage) and I was in a library - no problems. And no cameras. Then used MrBitcoin by going into the bank and deposited $ no problem under a different name. No iD needed.
Next? Perhaps shift the coin through a few wallets (?) then use my own laptop to deposit to SR - the next mission to work out Tails or some other bootable live operating system that will work on my Mac.
I have to admit I find all this covert activity furtively fun.
Shame on me ;)

Thank You - I'm still a neophyte in this arena of Bits & Cloaks so I'm gonna check out different ways of playing the game; I'll check those two out ...

Aye - CryptoXchange denied me when using one of those shopping mall-insert-coin computers (bad place to go anyway) but no problem in a library...
