Title: Combat vendors asking for FE
Post by: zebra420kitty on August 30, 2013, 06:37 am
I am getting tired of hearing about my fellow brothers getting scammed. If you've been around a while, you have heard it all. Well today i was thinking about it, and under no circumstances should anyone be put into a position where they have to fe.

I've thought of a possible solution, Orders go processing then to in transit. i was thinking that there should be a lockout timer on when you can click finalize. For instances if you are shipping us to us there would be a 2 day lockout being that it is on the bottom of shipping times. And for instances shipping from Germany to USA would have a 7 day lockout. I know there are probably a lot of holes in my idea. But im just spitballing here :D

The location would be determined by information already shared on your account, unless you have it as undeclared. If the buyer or the vendor has it as undeclared there would be a mandatory 5 day.

After all, i am just thinking of things. I know there can be many problems this can cause, like cash flow ect. Just wanted to put it out there

this isnt a technical problem its a political one. DPR believes in the free market, which means he supports predatory behavior. scammers are predators, therefore FE will remain a useful tool for them.

Sure don't allow FE but then you can expect all the buyers from AUS and other high risk countries to be cut off from purchasing Internationally. I take the utmost precaution when shipping to these countries to minimize seizure however you must assume some risk aswell due you can't expect the vendors to take 100% of the fall.

honestly, vendors should not have to take 100%. Because in reality if they take that 100% thats just paying back the customer. they still had to pay for the product in the begenning so that more then 100%. I believe I should take more of the risk as a buyer. I mean If anything vendors could just refund most of the profit they were gonna make if an order does make it. Thats what would be most fair. for everyone. and it would fuck the sellers.

I agree something needs to be done to excise these scammers from silk road. I blow to many old dudes dicks to support my coke habit to be ripped off.  if good ol DP really thinks that FE is part of a free market, it is.  But a truely efficient free market does not an arbiter, such as DP himself, to resolve disputes because there would not be any.  Long story short a completely efficient market is not real, although SR seems to be close to it.  The authorities, DP and the other boys in blue, need to enact safeguards to protect one's property because without the ability to conduct smooth and fair transactions the market becomes chaotic.

when the cartels in columbia smuggle drugs into other countries and they get their drugs seized the cartel takes the loss. if you cant get them to me thats not my fault, at least thats how i look at it. ive never had an order taken by customs so if you are good there usually isnt much risk. also FE has to go because if you get something that was not how it was described, a lot under weight, or just ripped off there is nothing you can do but report the person and for some reason there are few select scammers on here that DPR hasnt gotten rid of yet?? at the very least make it against the rules to ask for FE with less than 100 or 75 transactions no exceptions not even for int. customers. thats not too much to ask.
