Who/what is the ultimate force behind you!
Adenosine triphosphate

And who or what created ATP?

And who or what created ATP?
That's interesting; in the other thread you started in the forum you are talking in evolutionary terms, but now you're asking for a 'creator' or 'first cause'. I don't think there is necessarily one. As Douglas Adams said:
"Anything that happens, happens. Anything that, in happening, causes something else to happen, causes something else to happen. Anything that, in happening, causes itself to happen again, happens again. It doesn't necessarily do it in chronological order, though."
Or as it is put in Illuminatus!:
Why? Because.
Why anything? Because everything.
Why me?! Because something has to happen to you, schmuck...
Basically, something has to happen, it might as well be ATP. If it wasn't ATP it would have to be something else and we'd be having exactly the same conversation about that... If there wasn't, we wouldn't be here to talk about it...
-
So you're saying because evolution exist there is no creator? You believe this?
-
Example. I am a creator. When I create something it then has a life of its own. Thoughts?
-
So you're saying because evolution exist there is no creator? You believe this?
I wouldn't say 'believe' it. I would say; I have seen evidence that convinces me evolution is true, but I have yet to see any evidence that convinces me there is a creator. But essentially, yes, that is what I think... Certainly, evolution does not require a creator...

I know evolution is real. I experience it every day. I am not in any way doubting that. Evolution is more than a word, more than a concept. It's real! As simple as that! Other things are simple to me as well. Like duality, and everything! There is such a thing as everything! Everything is one! Think about this, really think about this. Is it possible for everything to be simultaneously one thing?
-
it isnt just possible...IT IS! one is in all and all is in one. but u can never explain the unexplainable. and i like the word "believe" for religions. they dont know anything, they just believe. but if you all of a sudden see and feel something so powerful complex and infinite you cant find words. noone can. not jesus, no buddah nobody. herman hesse brings some good points like most philosoph's do but they never can tell the last sentence in all of it. never wondered why? cause its impossible to describe something you just can feel. there are no human words for it. and everybody would try to explain it maybe felt the same but will tell different than another. thats why we have so many religions. same shit just told different. we humans are so childish but thats the way it is. like a rat trying to understand why its in a cage. good think people think about life. talking about that stuff on the streets got you up in a mental hospital years ago. its nice to see how more and more people care

Great quote, I wish more people would see it this way haha. But in all honesty I totally agree, who the hell on Earth knows whats right and whats wrong, I sure as hell don't, and i don't think any of my fellow humans know either. Life & death are literally such funny things when you think about it. The entire way that all life (and non-living things) interact here on Earth are so funny ( Im sober btw) but truly I cant explain it more than that.
I believe in a creator, but i also believe in evolution.
I believe in a creator not because i think there is evidence but because it helps me cope with the fact that one day, (upon my death) I will be judged by the only being who knows the truth. Free from any hidden agendas and greedy humans that let money and power cloud their judgement. I apprehensively await judgement day, until then... LSD and SRF

I answer to no one. I'd say that my prime motivations for behavior are as follows.
1. To secure my material needs (water, food, shelter)
2. To secure my material desires (sex, drugs, media)
3. To assert my individuality (being free from external control & domination)
-
imo it is not possible to understand the thriving and creating energy behind existence on a intellectual level
for me the way of divine knowledge would be on a emotional level, by living, not by defining.
i answer to the gift of understanding the concepts: non/existence, coincidence/plan, chaos/order by living.

Yo, I think you've got the right idea here in that you can't explain the unexplainable. When I felt all of the truth of eternity weighing on me for the first time, and understood what it meant to be part of that, and to have claim to my part of eternity in order to continue to develop the most perfect existence for the entire matrix of existences that exists, that was powerful beyond words. I'm telling you the context of what I felt but I can't describe the pure feeling.
You understand this, of course.
But do you believe that just because "religions" can't properly describe in words this overwhelmingly real and vibrant truth that they hold to, that they are clinging at nothing? Certainly not, you would say. Well, then what is left for you to make the claim that they know nothing?
I'm not advocating that we fall for each aspect of "truth" claimed by religion, but certainly we should leave room to recognize that, despite there being truth out there, maybe it hasn't convinced us because we've heard it with just words, and not with our soul.
In the Christian tradition, that's where the Holy Spirit must work. No amount of reasoning with words will be enough to convince a non-believer of something that they truly believe to be false. And no amount of words will be enough to dissuade a true believer from their belief once they have completely understood the power of the unexplainable reality we are a part of.
Hold on to that hope that it is possible, and seek out those moments.
Shalom.

I answer to my stomach, body, mind, girlfriend, family, pets, friends, boss/employer, the undeniably excellent life on the Road, my Gods and Goddesses, nature--terrestrial and extraterrestrial (not "aliens", but gamma ray bursts, meteorites, solar winds, extrasolar winds, etc.).
Something like that. Recently, however, I have been answering to the neighbor girl, as she answers to my cock and anus. :-X

Would this not mean you answer to one person, that being yourself?

I love the way you summed up your ideas. They are very similar to mine. If I could communicate the feelings and experiences I have encountered in my years I believe it would truly change many individuals lives. Words lack the ability to convey fully the experiences I as well as many of the forum members have experienced. I guess this is the real mystery of life. Explaining oneself! May be too complicated a task.

I try to answer to myself, but I occasionally get bad looks for talking to myself, so I suppose most of the time I just wing it and hope for the best.

No, that wasnt what im trying to say. Religions are great for most people and many of them can actually read between the lines cause it all leads to one no matter what you "believe" in. The way of this thinking is complex so for some its good to have like "one creator" and not have to think about and for some it isnt. What i was trying to say is that we as human kind feel exactly the same as we bleed the same and think about life itself wether you believe in religion or something else.
But we always try to explain it OUR ways. One of my best old Friends came from Lebanon and was a fullblooded muslim, but when we talked while being on opiods and good kush no matter what words he used we knew we believed in the same even i wont call it Allah or God and we Knew we know each other and always meet "on the Road". Its inside of us, the flame some call God and some say we as a creation itself, nature, and the love in life is god. Believe what you want because its your very own movie, and tolerate other Humans even if you dont agree. We are all one.
So its actually nice how humanity is going after so many tragic failures but thats the way we are. I wanted to say that extremism no matter what you believe or do is bad, either nazi or superkatholic or superesotheric with magic stones and shit. I think the balance is the key, like theres truth in all. But most in your own life, thats the main thing. But i believe in everybodys own thoughts cause theyre all truth. Love life instead of thinking about death. We all fell the magic.

if you think there is many truths you are miss leading yourself.. you cant half love, love a little, almost love or think i love...you cant almost be truthful or a little truthful and think you can gain true love, true truth. its not easy and i have not mastered this, but i know there is only one way...people who are self centered self serving will compromise this by thinking there are other ways to get there. you convince yourself there is an easier way...but there is not...i will assume you are young by your comments. but i hope a long life will show you this, if your open to learn...if you cant be truthful with the one you love then you live a lonely life...and im not talking about "do i look fat in this dress"....this is deeper....

Who/what is the ultimate force behind you!
Myself. Me. I.
I drive myself, I answer to my body and mind. My desires, my social conditioning/ethics, morals and beliefs.
We are all selfish creatures in that we do what we want most of the time. Even those of you who argue and say you have no choice, everybody has choice. Not everybody wants to, or has the guts to take those choices.
You may feel you are beholden to your job/wife/whatever but you are not. You choose to perpetuate your own life.
What interests me is how much social conditioning affects ones morals. That should be another thread...

I'm still trying to find the question. I understand the implications of "Who do you answer to?", but this is not a forum question. This is a Forum question, one from which there will come now rapid and complete response.
Who do you answer to? This seems like a botched attempt at finding out who our plumber is. That's who I would answer to: plumbers and garbage men. They are the most important people in my life. I don't live in shit, and god willing, I will never have to. I'll answer to anyone that threatens to destroy my environment; listen to them; and find out what it takes to stop them from achieving that goal.
