Title: What is the simplest way to get Bitcoin?
Post by: Frisby on July 29, 2011, 10:08 pm
I've been having trouble getting bitcoins to use on my SR account. I want to know what's the simplest way of getting them without being detected. I lost a good amount of money and want to know the most effective and fastest way of doing it.

Use your real bank account?

Excuse me if this is a noob question but is it possible to anonymously upload a $100 visa gift card code into a fake name account on dwolla or mt. gox and then buy bitcoin with that?

thanks to anyone if you can answer this and sorry if its been asked before or is a noob question.

No, in general you can't use a credit card to buy bitcoins because credit card transactions can be reversed but bitcoin transactions can't.

Another option is to buy Liberty Reserve with a money order and use that to buy from an exchange.

https://bitcoinbux.com/ Several experienced users have recommended this to me. Fastest/most anonymous way is to buy greendot moneypack with cash then have bitcoinbux send BTC to your wallet (install bitcoin on your computer) and/or to mtgox then send it to SR from there.

bitcoinbux.com is getting a lot of fast press. Nothing against them, but let's all take a deep breath before we send too much money there. (I dunno but it popped onto my radar and then people pushing it.) Start small?

Have used bitcoinxchange twice now,  first time small money,  second time large money,  it is by far the best service I have used yet.  The guys that work there responded quickly,  and one even helped me set up my bitcoin wallet after I got confused on something.  Top notch guys,  great exchange service.  I understand every one is cautious and I'm not urging anyone to go and do business with them,  but from my experience easily 5/5.
