i want to use LIberte with my wifi using rt8187 chip. but liberte for some reason does not reconize the wifi. anyone know how to install the drivers to Liberte??????
-
not 100% sure but from what iv heard liberte is pretty locked down for security reasons, id just advise buying a standalone usb wifi adapter that is proven to be compatible they are not much at all.
Plus its always handy to have a usb wifi adapter laying around :)

it is a usb wifi adapter. and i read somewhere it was updated to work with rt8187. but it doenst. such a bummer. i use tails works great

ah ok, and yeah tails is also a good one to use,

Did you update Liberte with the most recent snapshot ?(released March of this year, I think). It's not on the Liberte download site, but instead is on Sourceforge (search for Liberte snapshot Sourceforge).
It has updated drivers and kernel... Might solve your problem.

Is liberte a good place to get bitcoins? I see they only charge 1% which seems very low compared to 5% to 10% others charge. Whats the catch?

Think your a bit confused, liberte is a linux live distro, a great os for using SR has alot of useful built in features, and charges range from site to site.

I think Liberte is Gentoo so download the firmware package for your chipset (if not get the debian one) and slipstream it into the ISO, or keep it on a usb or something and then install it everytime you boot. I bet it's fixed with the latest sourceforge release. Failing that just use Tails in bridge mode.

100% plug and play. I have two rt8187, one is inbuilt into notebook and another Alfa on usb - both working perfect!!

wait so why isnt the one on the website updated? and why is it in sourceforge?????

Dunno why, exactly... But the developer of Liberte has a small support forum hosted there, and that's where he posts the updated snapshots.
