Post by: kookoo on April 06, 2013, 03:19 am
hi,

I boot Linux Liberte from USB. in the case that my USB fails, how can i backup to a secondary USB? do i simply copy the contents on one of the USB's, and paste it to the other?

From a linux OS (  /assuming /dev/sdX is you USB  )

dd -if /dev/sdX -of backup.dmp

this will create a file 'backup.dmp' in you current directory

restore with

dd -if backup.dmp -of /dev/sdX

as allways: try it out with another usb stick first!!
