You have to decide what's best for you. Yes moneypaks sound great until you start understanding the fees associated with them. All the vendors are charging fees to cash them for btc, a pretty penny at that. If you get under $500 moneypaks, it's a ass raping for high fees, but then when you start getting $1000s the fee just "adds" up quickly. I spent over $150 in fees to get my last btc conversion for a order. The main reason for moneypaks is anonymity, & it comes at a price.
If your buying personal amounts, with little money, you can do no id bank transfer deposits to a few vendors for little to no fee at all. It's just a whole lot less sketch walking into a walmart to get a $1000 MP at a time, rather than walking into a bank with $1000s in cash to make a no id transfer to a random bank account. I will pay the "extra" fee for the anonymity of a MP.

thank you patron, now i know what to expect

Just remember there's no free lunch. the btc vendors charge money, and every once in a while you get a bad one that rips a bunch of people off. I'd definitely check the forums, and make sure you go with a reliable vendor. I've used btc king and btc buddy with no problems.
It's cheaper to go thru the 'official' sites, but the more official, the slower they usually are....gotta search around, read up on btc vendors in these forums....
