Title: Privnote and Vendors
Post by: microbabe on August 19, 2013, 04:42 am
Hey guys,

So I know PGP is far superior to Privnote, and I urge all my customers to use PGP, but a few customers have sent me their sensitive info via privnote.  Is there any threat to MY security by opening the privnote link??

I wouldn't work with anyone that uses privnote and I've never used it myself.

You need javascript enabled to use it (it seems) so yes, its a no-no from me.

If they're stuck for how to use PGP, there's a bunch of tutorials online and I wrote one for tails in a post which you can find here: http://dkn255hz262ypmii.onion/index.php?topic=202307

Sounds to me like:

Javascript enabled -> more vulnerable,
LE finds their address
tracks who is sending packages there and now you are a suspect

It's no surprise so many vendors demand PGP.

Also I ordered some your $25 off deal this weekend and I can't wait to test it! (I used pgp lol)

Thanks guys, very helpful info.  I'll be stating on my vendor page that I only accept PGP from now on.

And Science Logic, thanks for your order! Expect your item by the middle of the week.
