Title: What do I do?
Post by: Snakehawk on June 22, 2013, 06:04 pm
I used to use MTgox, but now that it requires identification, I have no way of verifying my account. I could use a fake ID + utility bill, however, it says the name on the ID must match the bank account it's being sent from for wire transfers, and I don't want to use a real name with it.

Will MTgox notice if the money is wired from an account with a name that doesn't match the account ID/utility bill?

If I can't use MTgox anymore, what do I do? I'm in Northwestern Europe, and I use the euro, and I can't figure out how to use Dollar-only services like Bitinstant, and all of the European exchanges seem really sketchy.

Please help.

Bitstamp.net is the best bitcoin trading platform IMO, it doesn't require any verification whatsoever and accepts SEPA wires. You shouldn't have used MtGox, people warned everybody about that verification bullshit!

Just checked it out and it looks perfect! Thanks a million, man.

Do you know how much they charge you for depositing money? MTgox used to charge 20 euro to receive a wire. Also, what's a SEPA wire?

There is alot of "anonomys" BTC sites, just look around and read feedback's. Try the site the other dude mention. MTGOX is the cheapest tho. It is often more Fee on "anonomys" websites. I often use btcx.se but it is a Swedish site, they take 10 % fee i think but i do not bother about those small amounts.

Well if you're in Europe, a SEPA wire is a wire tranfer in the eurozone. Kinda like SWIFT except for the eurozone. SEPA deposits are free of charge so there isn't any fee. The coins are cheaper there than on MtGox too, perfect! There's only a 0.20% fee when converting BTC into another currency or vice versa. But all in all it's a total win compared to MtGox.
I don't use it to buy coins though I only use it to trade, I got my coins with bitfloor (anonymous cash deposit with almost no fees) when it was still there and still have enough right now to not have to worry about finding another way.

If you don't mind dealing in cash, it might be worth checking out localbitcoins.com as well.
