Title: VERY confused... marked "In transit" 2.5 hrs after purchase... Please advice?
Post by: ErgoProxy on December 09, 2012, 09:41 am
I placed an order , let us say at 2:30 AM, and it was marked "In transit" 2.5 hrs later.  Now that was this day... the vendor claims to be *Add country here*.. To me, this is VERY important, as I would prefer to stay domestic, for personal reasons.

Does anyone not find it odd, that something is marked in transit so soon, and also, should the vendor NOT let us know from WHERE they ship from? Just in case some would prefer to stay within their own borders.

I mean, who accepts orders so late , on a WEEKEND? And I hope nobody tells me that something doesnt have to be marked in transit, even if it is not... I mean, it's not even POSSIBLE to do to.

Starting to feel a bit sketched here. Auto-finalize is marked for 17 days, so if it is NOT in my country, it could be marked auto-finalize BEFORE it arrives, is that correct?

Thanks guys, much appreciated.

hes probably just pressed in transit when hes prepared the order, and will post first thing in the morning.

people need to stop reading into every little small detail.

I don't know why the fuck some vendors do that shit with marking an order 'in transit' before they actually ship it.  It does neither party any good, and I would think that they would get a mailbox full of PMs from people asking where there order is, if they expected it to be delivered on such a date, and then that comes and goes, because the seller didn't actually ship it until a few days later.

I haven't had a seller mark a deliver in transit as quickly as you did, but I have had several orders that were marked in transit, a few days before they were dropped off at the USPS.  I say this because I was expecting it by X date with priority shipping, and I got the package 3 or four days after when I was expecting it.  When I did receive the delivery I checked the DCN myself and saw that the seller didn't actually ship it when he marked it in transit.

Not much you can do, but to read the forums for feedback on a seller, and then find one that actually runs his SR profile like a business.

This and if it does, you can take it to resolution center and ask for more days for it to arrive.

Do not worry,  while the vendor SHOULD only mark in transit once they have actually shipped the product,  many process to IN TRANSIT once the order is packaged so that it can not be cancelled (I believe it used to be a big scam here where buyers would cancel the order between the time the vendor shipped and marked order in transit,  which would completely screw the vendor).  This should not concern you hugely,  as you order should be shipped out next shipping date if vendor is decent.  If vendor is not decent than it doesnt matter when the order is marked in transit,  if they want to screw you around they will.

Also,  if the vendor is going to require FE than they must mark the order to IN TRANSIT before it can be finalized,  did you read through the vendors profile to see if they required FE?

On the domestic or international order issue,  why would you place an order from a vendor if your not comfortable with their stated location (or lack there of)?  In the future I would recommend contacting the vendor in advance to see if they are domestic for you if that is an issue,  you should always do all your research and make sure you are comfortable dealing with a particular vendor prior to making a purchase.  Hope everything works out for you.

It being marked in transit 2.5 hours after ordering wouldnt be odd if it was within working hours for the post office. It being on the weekend being marked in transit after work hour is odd though. Most likely they're just going to ship when the post opens, which is still a huge no-no but some people dont mind it.

Happens to me about 50% of the time....
especially weird when its 330a or something on a Sunday.. especially when the post office is closed all day Sunday so it clearly wont be going out for two days (assuming they don't throw em in a box with stamps)

or the vendor, like me, prints and ships after the distractions of the day are over, doesn't like to let the orders pile up over the weekend, and has already put your package out in the blue box......hence "shipped".

now that I think about it..............................it probably was me!

aye!
Vendors do drop packs off during the night hours..
so no one sees them.. and the postal workers can pick it up a$ap..
meaning your pack is on its way to you way quicker than it would've been..
if they dropped it off mid-day.

Many vendors ship from 'undisclosed' or unknown locations/countries to help protect their identity.  If it matters to you, ask them before ordering and most will give you the info you need.

There could be many reasons why the order was marked "In Transit" shortly after the order was placed.  If it is a reputable vendor, there should be no issue with this and you will receive your package.  A lot of vendors ship from across the world from where you might live, so if you placed the order at 2:30am your time, it might be 9am and the post office is open in the vendors country,  This messes me up sometimes when I am reading reviews because people will get their order a day before mine and we ordered at the same time!

I do know a few vendors who mark orders in 'transit' fast and are really shipped out fast. If you have doubt, read the customers' feedback.

Yeah... STILL nothing. And I did inquire as to whether or not he/she aas shipping from within my country, becuase to me it  matters. Kind of pissed that I have 5 days before it gets  auto finalized. And when I take it to  support, and I get a refund, it shows on my record which has been perfect , up until this point.  >:(

Is it asking too much asking a vendor for a DCN, or is that only possible if I take it to support? I was sent a remiinder that I had 6 days remaining. I refuse to finalize, even if its just about 2 BTC. That just sucks. Priority shouldnt take this  long. Yeah it could be the issue, but after being marked in transit prematurely, it seems kind of sketchy. Again, I dont want a refund mark on my record , making me look like the dick.  Ugh.

Yeah IDK, either way after tomorrow Ill have a mark on my stats due to a package that cost me less than 2BTC, and Im probably being dicked around with it. Im so pissed off. Will be even more so and it arrives from outisde the U.S. when I was told otherswise.

I actually wanted to ask if anyone knows, is it possible to find out if a vendor has many automatic finalizing on their record for sales?

I believe information like that SHOULD be made available. It is for buyers, just seems fair.
