Title: Private Transactions within Escrow
Post by: anon117 on June 18, 2011, 11:39 pm
I believe it would be beneficial for everyone to implement a system of private transactions through the current PM system. If a buyer and seller verbally come to an agreement through pm about a proposed transaction the seller should be able to send a Product for sale PM to that member. The member can then purchase the item through escrow.

The benefit to this is if a buyer does not want to publicly list the product or if the deal that the seller is offering is only for a certain buyer, they can do so without having to do things like this (http://ianxz6zefk72ulzz.onion/index.php/silkroad/item/2814).

It's a good idea and has a lot of merit.  The only issue I can see is that you could end up having a market within a market, which would defeat the free-trade nature of the site.  Perhaps a voucher/coupon system, where a seller can give a discount or % off to to complete a trade with a buyer at a negotiated price.

the reason that Item is listed that way is that... i am not a vendor, but i thought i would help someone with some product from my personal stash.. I would like to keep it off the public board though, cause i've gotten quite a few PM's from people wanting me to set up custom orders, price of vial requests etc.... So I agree that private listings do have their place.  I probably will not do this again this way because of the flood of requests when people see it

Why not just use something like clearcoin for this?
