Title: Backup of Silk Road's forums!
Post by: SRForumsBackup on October 08, 2013, 02:09 pm
Hey, earlier today I began caching this forum in case it went down.
A backup is available at http://2bewt43pu6ymqutq.onion. Files are saved as-is, and they're modified on the fly by a simple python web server to hide the quick login, fix urls and change "Silk Road forums" into "Silk Road forums Backup".

I'll release the full archives (including the simple python web server needed to correctly show them) once caching is done. Not all pages are cached yet, but they will in a day or two.
At the moment if a certain page is not present in the cache it just gets downloaded from the forum and gets cached, so everything should function normally.
I did not edit the login page because I wanted to keep everything intact, so be sure not to accidentally log in. (I'm refusing any POST request and not logging anything, but better safe than sorry).

Let me know if there's anything broken or you have any suggestion to keep it goin'!

You are a gentleman! Thank you - the link works OK. I will certainly be sending you over a donation later today

Could you also make the archive file itself available for download?

Yes, as soon as I finish caching all the forum I will put it up on BitTorrent (seeded anonimously over gbit servers, but still make sure to have a trusted VPN when downloading) and on an hidden service.

By the way, it'd be appreciated if someone posted this somewhere else, this account is a new throwaway one and I can't do it (don't have 50 posts).
