Hey all, I'm new here as you can probably see. been lurking for about a month now and had everything set up to make a purchase. So today when i opened up my Bitcoin client on my mac it "quit unexpectedly"
I tried several times to open it/repair it/ reinstall. Nothing. So I come here with the question, If i go buy a moneypak, give the numbers to a tursted moneypak->btcoin seller, and give said seller an instantwallet address instead of my bitcoin? Im still new to this and havent made a purchase yet. Is there any other way i should go about doing this?? Or would sending to an instantwallet then tumbling the coins for awhile be good enough? Thanks. And i did search the forums for this, no luck

you could even have the bitcoins send directly to your SR account. You arent actually buying the bitcoins so there is no official link to to you. If you buy the moneypak with cash, the only evidence of you personally ever buying anything is the security footage at the store.
But yes, if you want extra security, you could send them around to a few instawallets then on to SR

Go to where your wallet is stored, back up your wallet.dat file to your desktop, and delete everything else in the folder. Then open up the bitcoin program. It should work now.
It will just have to find the blocks again, but its the price you have to pay for the program working.
Don't forget to back up your wallet!!

In the search box in the upper right hand corner of the Finder type "wallet.dat"
It's in /Users/yourusername/Library/Application Support/Bitcoin or something like that

~/Library/Application Support/Bitcoin/
There you go. ^^^
Back up your wallet to the desktop, delete it all, open up the client and verify that it opens, then quit it out, COPY your wallet out of your desktop, PASTE it into the directory, then start the client back up and use it as usual.
I say to copy and paste it incase you mess up and delete the wallet by accident. Do everything you can to not lose your wallet while you are working on this folder!
