I discovered SL, created an account, looked around and I'm going to get some bitcoins to buy some stuff.
Of course, before I make it I'll create a new account and I'll send bought bitcoins to the new one.
I have one problem. When I give my address to the vendor.. Should I give him my real name? Or an address where I get the package is enough? You get my idea? A real address but name made by my imagination..
I will be grateful for answears. THX

Depends on your region and your postal service. In the UK, fake names are fine as letters get delivered to door number and postcode so the name is usually irrelevant.
If you're living in shared accommodation for instance and you notice that mail gets delivered to past tenants then as a rule of thumb a fake name should be all that is necessary.
Anyone from elsewhere care to chime in?
Be Good.

But consider I am going to give my real address. Where I live. Because I don't have any abandoned destinations in my mind where I could receive a letter from a vendor.
So you mean giving a fake name is a necceserity? :)
-
In the US generally for personal use people use their real name and address. Fake names can arouse suspicion or not get delivered at all. Fake addresses even moreso. For resale you'd need to set up / get drop addresses.

Do you sometimes/regularly get mail delivered to your address that is (edit) NOT addressed to you? If the answer is yes then you can go ahead and use a fake name. If you can then you should just don't use any suspicious names like "John Smith" or "Michael Jackson" for instance.

Hi Nik. I understand your trying to help, but this doesn't make any sense.
-
Honestly, I'd just use my real name. Using a fake name can arise suspicion. Then again, I'm the US, so I don't know. Maybe it's different in the UK.
-
I use all real information. My name and a po box I set up especially for receving pakages.
-
It is best to use your real name so to not raise suspicion.
-
I use a real name and make sure to encrypt it with PGP.

It is definitely different in the UK and fake names are absolutely fine as long as not obviously fake.
I've been hearing that the US deliver to BOTH name & address and if they don't match then you may not receive your mail.
to the OP: Which country in Central Europe? This may help somebody to better answer your concerns.

This is what happens when new users are confined to a single forum. I mean who best to answer questions for people who don't know what they're doing than people who don't know what they're talking about?
OP, I'm not sure why you don't just use google, but if you really want someone else to do it for you you'll have to tell ujs what country you live in.

Sorry, that was an error on my part, I have edited my post to say "NOT addressed to you"

OP, I strongly suggest you don't answer that question.
- Nik, do you have some facts about country specific postal delivery processes, that requires OP to disclose that information? I am interested in that topic a lot.
- second you realize you ask him to disclose personal information on a public forum?
There are other ways to help OP with a legit question, like this.

Again OP google it. And don't disclose that info. You made a good point inglorious libertine.

Good thing you figured that out by yourself, if was getting to the conclusion you're a complete retard.
Peace out

Real info is fine, just never EVER sign for anything and encrypt all your personal information.

well in the event of suspicion the coppers are gonna know your address and then that leads to who's been living in that house? and if its only you then well it all adds up to being sketchy,so just use your real name,

Dunno why everyone in here went straight on replying undocumented thought (as pointed out previously), without anyone ever suggesting that little white box on the top right corner.
meloanthony, this question has been discussed here over and over again since day 1.
So if you had looked it up and read into it, you'd see that a lot of good folks, with a lot of knowledge have answered to that, to an extend that makes leverything posted above look like some completely worthless bullshit. My replies included, of course.
Hit the search button, read into it, come back here and do a summary, link up the threads you got your infos from
--> Congrats you have valuable knowledge and a worthy thread.
Another thing: your first name is not Anthony, is it? I omit the question regarding melo as it makes me shiver.
Have a nice one

Depends on origin. Generally it's okay. But makes no difference really. If you get busted, you get busted.

Correct, in the end it's the same. But if it is what made your mail suspicious and ultimately got you busted?

Just send yourself letters with the fake name you would want to use and you'll know if it works or not... It just sucks if it's a package and you're not there and you have to pick it at the post office because you'll most likely need an ID then and your order will get lost.
Using your real name is fine though. Using 50 different fake names will pretty suspicious though and if you use the same fake name regularly without ever returning anything it's suspicious too.. If you use your real name, you can always deny ordering anything since anyone that wants to cause you trouble could just send you drugs. If they see you've received 20 packages under the same fake name or under different fake names, you don't really have as much plausible deniability anymore, unless you have a pretty good explanation for that.
And for the record, signing or not doesn't make any difference if you get a controlled delivery and you accept the package (in the US).
