Title: When to change password and pin?
Post by: thumbprintfluff on March 03, 2013, 09:20 pm
OK I did spend some time searching for the answer, not being lazy.    This would be pertaining to the phishing scam. I purchased some BTC's from a 'reputable' source. Now do I change my PW and pin now or wait until they actually show up in my account?

What would buying bitcoins have to do with your SR password and pin?

Im hoping you didnt give out your password or pin to this 'reputable' source

Hey.
Sorry this is a bit vague, did you give him any of your security details?Providing your password and pin are strong I don't see why you should change it providing you tell NOBODY ANYTHING about you being on SR and tell NOBODY any security details:DThis way nobody will ever know the password:D
Or if you're paranoid like me you can change it once or twice a week.....:D

come fly!

This BTC source is a SR vendor, and no I did'nt/would'nt give anything but the $pak #.   He/she is one of the highest rated, most reputable btc vendor on SR.  I just don't want any complications in recieving my btc's. Changing the pw/pin would'nt affect that correct?
I suppose I could make sure the url is correct each time I log in right?

Changing your password and pin shouldn't affect receipt of the bitcoins just as changing the key on a mailbox at the post office wouldn't prevent any mail from arriving.
