Title: Subsidized Housing/AIDS Diagnosis or Proof of Displacement by Disaster
Post by: buku on June 16, 2013, 03:06 am
Housing is expensive in some areas, mainly due to moronic zoning laws. I'm sure everyone would like to pay less for it. Why not take advantage of subsidized housing?

Is there anyone here, particularly in the Bay Area (California, USA) that has connections and could perhaps move people to the top of a waiting list?

Something that can give you priority is the following:

Quote
10. Are you being displaced from your home by a result of a government action
or a presidentially declared disaster?
If yes, please explain:

But, how do you prove it/what proof do they request? I've emailed someone and asked, but may not get an answer until Monday.

There is also HOPWA (Housing Opportunities for People With AIDS) housing. Some programs are specifically for them, some have a few units set aside for them.

There are doctors willing to write people prescriptions for drugs they don't qualify for, why not give someone a false AIDS diagnosis? The charges could be much less severe. It's such an odd/unusual request that you may have a hard time finding someone willing to do it. Any crooked doctors willing to put up their service? Someone willing to exchange their connections for money?

So basically you want a note from a doctor that says you have AIDS? You do know that doctors by law have to report HIV/STD cases to the government right?

So you're willing to have fake AIDS for life in order to move into a project?

That's pretty morally bankrupt.

What? Well screw that. I don't want it to interfere with me getting surgery or anything. Let's see, I want a vasectomy, and possibly limb-lengthening if it doesn't effect biomechanics too much (ratio of shin to thigh > movement efficiency).

I don't see why it would effect anything I'm likely to do. I think people with AIDS might receive forcibly redistributed money (I refuse to call it "free") as well. Fake having AIDS all my life? What are they gonna do? Check if I still have it? Force me to have meds prescribed?

Anything I'm not thinking of? How would having an AIDS diagnosis negative effect my life?

Well you'd have fake AIDS, and I guess you probably can't just register as having AIDS one day and ending up on a list of people with AIDS, and then you go to the doctor and he's like, whoa dude you don't have AIDS, and then you end up in the news and in jail and you might get real AIDS in jail, or at least Athlete's foot.

No way, how would they prove you faked it? Reasonable doubt. They may just call it a medical miracle. You could tell them you tried a crazy new procedure at a medical tourist clinic.

I put some mud from Brazil on my ballsack and my AIDS went away doctor...

I heard Africa was brimming with AIDS so I'd suggest going there. If you go to Africa and come back to America and say you have AIDS they might believe you.

thats not really how it works..  its not as simple as going to a doctor and them checking off some slip that says ur pos, theres a complicated long process that you have to go thru that involves social security, human and health services, etc..

and why the hell would you want to take away a home from someone who legitimately does have HIV/AIDS or was displaced by an actual disaster just so you can save money living in a shitty neighborhood??  the reason those programs are exist are for people that actually need them, who couldn't live or would have such a low quality of life without it that they wouldn't want to w/o these programs..   i mean, do what you want, but you will pay in some severely fucked up cosmic sense for stealing shelter from poor/dying/ill people..

yes, they will regularly check your t-cell and blood cell counts, and yes you will be forced to take medication that makes you vomit and seize and constantly drip shit out of your asshole.  you will also have to tell every doctor, nurse, emt, any medical professional you come into contact with that you have HIV.

it would be easier to pretend to be a single mom with 4 fake kids then it would be to fake having HIV.  simple

You're right, skip the AIDS idea, displaced by natural disaster seems like a much better route. Only a small fraction are specifically for people with AIDS, and I don't see why they deserve subsidized housing since the vast majority have no one to blame but themselves for acquiring their condition, while all give priority to the displaced.

Shitty neighborhood? Au contraire, mon ami, many of these are in very nice neighborhoods. Living nearly anywhere in San Fransisco is pretty cool, and there are a few in Downtown Oakland, which is kind of cool, although Oakland is now the robbery capital of the US. : /
