Title: GPG: How to send Encrypted email?
Post by: skeeterskeeter on September 14, 2012, 05:35 am
So I have finally installed gpg on my linux machine. I wanted to test my gpg by sending a encrypted email to a user I wished to contact. The thing I cannot seem to figure out is how to take their public key (as text) and use it to encrypt a message with my gpg. using this command "gpg --import key.asc" but I cannot figure out how to turn the text into a .asc file to import and use.

second, I then take the output .pgp file and send it as an attachment using just regular gmail? Or do I need to sign into gmail on Tor and send it as an attachment with that.

Any help, Thanks in advance

Well, I guess I did not realize it came installed. I spent a hour or so trying to track down and install the correct libraries (libassuan, libgcypt, liberror, etc). But I do have it installed and have generated my public key (I think I had it only set for a day though).

I guess what I really want to do is get the hang of sending a encrypted email first before I try and do much else.

I am running ubuntu Oneric Ocelot (10.04?.)
