Title: Give vendors ability to make subsections
Post by: ENBOOM on January 28, 2012, 05:30 am
I'm constantly needing to categorize my chemicals.

Right now I need a 5-meo-mipt section under psychedelics along with 2c-t-2 under the 2c family of psychedelics.  I've sent SR support a message and they told me to come here to post about it.

Typically this isn't an issue but when I'm unable to properly categorize my chemicals I feel they often get overlooked.  As most people use the trees to browse.

Thoughts?

Thoughts?

I think the vendor control panel (for all vendors) could have a quick-submission form so any vendor can quickly add a subsection for approval. An admin would simply check that its valid / not-spam and then it would be added immediately. Since the nature of the site is with chemicals both common and exotic, it is a worthy of investment to implement such a feature.

Alternatively you could make full-access no-approval to requested vendors. So in this case you have a valued community vendor, and who has intricate knowledge of the drug's terminology / categorization. So instead of giving the right to all vendors, its just to those who request it.

Option 1 seems better though.

So the tough part is --> do the code writers of the SR site have the means / time to implement such a function. I do hope so, because its the vendors and the customers and ultimately SR too who stands to gain.

/thoughts  :]

Edit: stuff.

I think it's a good idea for established, trusted vendors.  I'm really interested in your new products, hope to see them listed soon :)

The hierarchy seems to be slowly getting bogged down. There are so many different categories under psychs; I'd suggest that we find higher categories to organize them in. For example, put 2c-t-7, 2c-t-2, and 2c-t-21 under 2c-t under 2c under psychs. This could start to get very bogged down, though, so it'd be a trade-off. There could also be a 5-meo category, DOx category, etc.
