Title: Encouragement to use proper encryption
Post by: c13hqPX7d on July 17, 2013, 01:18 pm
Idea #1: You have to provide a PGP key to place an order (maybe by adding a "PGP tab" in the account settings).
Idea #2: Adding a second text box to the messaging system (the address field when ordering) where you have to put a PGP key in order to send the information.
Idea #3: A warning popup if the system detects that a message is not PGP encrypted.

PGP should be encouraged however we hold some reservations as whether to make it compulsory. There are many forms of encryption, not everyone is familiar or happy to use PGP. Also some do not have the time. As a vendor we see all types of buyers some who use PGP some who don't. I think its almost certain if PGP was forced there would be a slight deep in site traffic. I do believe SR should have a PGP guide to go along with the buyers guide though!
