Do I just re-download the bundle? Or is there something I'm missing on the site itself? Thanks.
-
delete old directory.. install new bundle.
-
Thanks and by directory you mean App, Data, Docs, Firefox Portable and starter for tor browser? All that shit?
-
Got it. I figured it was as simple as I thought. I just prefer being safe and asking stupid questions to possibly ending up on LE's radar.
-
This stuff tends to work itself out, sometimes ya need a nudge, I know I sure did.

I can't open the latest Tor-browser update (2.-3.-25-11)
I've downloaded it using the "Yes to all" button, and the "Rename all" one. - It doesn't make a difference
Usually once all is done downloading, I just go to "Start" (Windows obviously) and type in "Start Tor Browser" and click on those 3 words.
You say delete the directory, is that what I need to do? (I never had to)
If so, what's the best way? I mean I can find about 500 entries in all sorts of places on my laptop related to TOR.
CC cleaner perhaps?
Buy one of those nifty Solid State Drives and throw my old one in the East River??
A little help would be appreciated. - Not internet illiterate. Let's just say 'internet intermediate' level. :-[
Thanks to anyone kind enough to help.

delete the directory completely, don't over write,

Hahaha! This place makes me smile. You guys are awesome. Thanks a lot and I'm sorry I missed the other replies here or I would've been glad to help you too, but it seems someone else got to you. :)

I guess I'll have to search for anything TOR and delete it one by one.
I don't have some specific directory just called "directory" - So I'll find every cookie and trace of useless shit like HTTPS everywhere (whatever purpose that serves?)
Then do a CC Cleaner. Disk Cleanup, Defrag, and then Run Stop Sign eAnthology anti-virus/spyware engine.
THEN do a clean install of w\
-
Whoa! You don't have to do all that. Just got to start and where it says "search programs and files" type "tor" and delete all that. That's what I did.
-
Guys, you should really just buy a cheap USB stick (4GB is fine) and put TOR on there.
You can easily hide or destroy the USB stick should the worst occur.
-
I think that's just what I'll do. I've got the USB. I'll transfer it tomorrow.

Wish I could help there man. I honestly don't know how you'd go about doing that. Maybe with some luck someone who does will come along!

^Vatican might be able to help you if you backed up your bookmarks. If you didn't, I don't think there's any way to get them back.
-
i didn't delete the old one but downloaded the new one and the flashing thing on the onion is gone now so i'm guessing i'm ok
-
Yeah, if it doesn't flash anymore it's good. Just make sure to turn off javascript again along with the S symbol beside the onion. I do both. I don't know if you have to, but you go to TorBrowser<options<options<content<and uncheck enable javascript.
-
I updated on mac but the onion is still flashing ???
-
easiest way. exit tor. delete tor of computer completely, then go to tor website and download it again. you should have sr. onion url memorized by now if you log in enough and just have the forum book marked or written down somewhere in worst case cenario you cant get to it from the sr main site.

In your outdated Browser Bundle, press Ctrl+Shift+B and go to "Import and Backup" -> "Backup..." and save the file somewhere.
In your fresh Browser Bundle, press Ctrl+Shift+B and go to "Import and Backup" -> "Restore" -> "Choose File..." and open the file you have previously saved.
