Title: scammed by Pureogkush?
Post by: mazzarmazzar on October 26, 2012, 10:12 am
Having read several reports of pureog scamming and waiting on a resolution with my messages ignored by the vendor who went into stealth mode I decided to poll it and see how many are effected

this is no suprise. used him plenty of times. same country as me so i think well he will b fast this time. each time he takes about a wk and theres always some bs excuse he posts on his vendor page why it took so long. plus his guds were always average at best. i think theres alot more faster and higher qualty vendors in u.k, coke wise any way now so think hes probaly doing one lol

Got a few small orders that i'll put in resolution within the next couple of days if it's still a no show.

The likely scenario is him and snomaker (probably the same person), have scammed a load of BTC buyers and fucked everyone's orders off. He's in stealth mode so it doesn't look good.

I've never had to go to resolve in the 95 orders I've made - how does it work? Do you get your coins back or a % of it??

this will be my 3rd resolve mate not fucking good looking... one for weedandhash confirmed scammer.. another for no show.. now this . basically you just hit resolve then pick if you want to wait or what percentage of refund tyou want.. then if not answered by the vendor after 5 days the resolve will get looked at then within 24hrs the desicion will be made by silkroad staff going i your favour  ;)

If you attempt to purchase bitcoins from people on the road instead of using bitinstant, mtgox or other exchanges then you deserve what you get.

Doobie, thats harsh.

i've bought smoke from OG before, was dissapointed 12 days domestic (WTF) and product was pretty average and not worth the price. also his two page listing with all the different types of hash was very suspect, why need that much stock or inventory?!

if he resurfaces. be warned.

I've spoken to pureogkush a fair few times before any of this happened and he seemed a genuine decent guy...My guess what's happened is due to the family death he had, the backlog he already had built up as well as stress building up, many buyers then sent him angry messages etc making him even more stressed resulting in him finally thinking fuck it and fuck them...By no means am I trying to defend the guy by the way...I think the timing of everything also contributed due to snoemaker bitcoins etc...He saw how much money he could run away with and took the chance due to other factors on top. Seem's most logical option to be honest...Not at all acceptable but in this kind of business it's very understandable...

Yeah just go to refund centre and put in 100% refund doubt he will bother Acting on it so sr will issue it back to you. If theres anough people with the problem admins may wipe refund off your stats and is looking like he has gone scam

I think you have been believing what you read too much and forgetting where you are.    After he has done a bunk you can't believe ANY of that bullshit he posted or pm'd.   He created a scenario where we ALL expected to wait 7 to 10 days or even longer so the window of opportunity grew bigger to take rogue orders.  The bitcoin scam also just illustrates this was a planned money snatch after a few good trades everyone wants cheap BTC dont they?    I don't like to think people would lie about their fathers death but I am on the silk road and some people just operate to the 'money is king' rules.  He had us all feeling sorry for him while he pulled our pants down.  Pretty clever but also pretty sick to be such a wanker in life.

One of the things that worries me most is we trust these people with our details.  If they are willing to rip you off one way then they are not going to be obeying the rules of the silk road as regard to our details.

this is the biggest worry for all SR users. or should be.

I had 4 small orders of hash with him, only totaling about 7BTC. Hopefully SR don't count them as it's a clear scam, but if they do count - fuck it, I'd rather have them on my stats than that greedy fucker have them. Up until this incident I had 95 transactions, 0% refund, 0% auto-finalise. So It wont effect me too much......

I'm thinking of just spending the rest of my coins with decent vendors who I regularly buy off and going back to old school, street buying. SR just seems to be getting worse with the more people that join, seems it's turning into a scammers paradise. That along with the lack of availability of UK BTC's. Adding all that up along with the risk factor of buying drugs from a site that clearly the ''old bill' must be onto, for me it might be time to quit while I'm ahead. I just can't help thinking that the place will get worse, until eventually it closes down along with everyone's wallets of BTC's.......

Quite simply SR has become too popular, and scammers are catching onto it bigtime. Even the amount of threads on the forums with people getting scammed is unreal. I've recently seen a thread where someone was scammed of $3500 and another one with $6000 (too be fair the $6000 guy was an idiot!) - but the $3500 one was a respected vendor, trying to cash coins in to another vendor who they had good relations with.

"Money the root of all evil"

Such a shame, but that seems the reality of it now.

Yeah this month seems to have had the most reports of scams worst part is many were trusted vendors the ones people regularly use.

got my refund no problems through the resolution centre, doesnt seem to of affected my refund % either.

The real problem is that its fucking it up for us, as the buyer.  There is no point in this if I can only buy small orders all the time due to fear of losing a large sum on a decent order.  I dont want 5 X SR deliveries a week of small amounts,  I want to buy 1 a month or fortnight maximum.

The vendors have to start being forced to hold funds in escrow with SR the bigger they get the more they have to hold.  (skim it lightly on all orders soon adds up) Hard to implicate and just an brief idea but might act as some kind of deterrent. Also the honest guys would not mind as at the end of the day they get a nice pay day when they finish and cash in the escrow.

That's good to hear, did you get the full 100% back?

If so, SR must realise that they tried to scam people, glad mines in escrow  8)

Yeah I got 100% refund and all 3 orders marked as successful by SR, which is nice.
I had some dealings with this guy before he went AWOL. I like to think that circumstances out of his control caused all this but that's just me I guess. Maybe he was just a scammer at the end of the day. Always winding up t the big one

Scammers first line of defense= death in family
I've spoken to pureogkush a fair few times before any of this happened and he seemed a genuine decent guy...My guess what's happened is due to the family death he had, the backlog he already had built up as well as stress building up.

was i the only one who saw red flags as soon as a death in the family was mentioned, call me a cunt but its always death or a accident when a seller turns shit.

Nah he had kilos of coke up for sale, along with all kinds of shit - crack etc etc. Plus he was selling BTC for bank transfers, potentially he could have done a runner with thousands.

Luckily all I had was 4 small hash orders in escrow.
