According to this wonderful guide: http://dkn255hz262ypmii.onion/index.php?topic=15383.0
I should have a bootable USB so no trace of SR activity gets stored in my computer. Well, I've been casually researching about drugs on clearnet and reading about silkroad.
When I get on SR, I just use Tor straight from my desktop. I do have a TrueCrypt volume for information sensitive files though.
Should I stop doing this and stop leaving my trails? Is Liberte pretty easy to use?

It depends on the level of security you want. AFAIK, the Tor Browser Bundle doesn't leave any sensitive information behind. I mean, it was designed for privacy and all. Using it in an encrypted/live environment just adds more layers of security. So in theory, yes, you should be fine.

It is all relative to your level of OPSEC and your level of paranoia.

I agree with this wholeheartedly!
I think that your setup sounds fine for normal purchases and wouldn't worry lots about things. If you are more concerned there are always steps to further secure things...

If your computer is free of malware, you are acceptably safe.

Personally I use the Liberte running through VMware, I use Cyberscrub to clean all traces - wipes free space, file slack, MFT records.
Probably not strictly necessary for a small time buyer, but essential for a vendor. ;)
