Hey there! I have always wanted to try growing a plant, but never really put any initiative into trying, lol. I was hoping maybe a seller would sell me 1 or 2 seeds for me to try? I don't have much BTC atm... but if someone might let me buy them cheap with a private listing or something, could you send me a pm?

Sativas aren't the best choice for a beginner, and i'm not trying to push my own products :) but you'd be better starting with an auto strain

Indoor / outdoor
If out what lattitude?
-
Indoor, i'm sure. And i heard sativa is harder to grow, lol... but i love a nice head high.

You don't need to grow true sats to get a nice head high. Sats tend to be very stretchy and long-flowering, so aren't generally the best choice for new growers. However, there are plenty of sat-dominant hybrids available that are more easily manageable, faster flowering, and generally more suited to indoor growing, whilst still giving you that nice heady buzz.
I'm not sure about the seeds available from SR vendors, but there are plenty of options on sites like the Attitude seed bank, and they are 100% legit.
With growing, you get out of it what you put in. If you just want to grow a plant under a couple of household CFLs, you can do so, and you will get a small amount of smoke and some useful growing knowledge in return. However, if you are willing/able to sink a bit of money into some decent equipment, you can become completely self-sufficient, and never have to pay for weed again. If you manage to grow more than you are able to smoke, you can sell the excess and make some money for yourself, or use it to fund further grow upgrades.
I love growing, it's more addictive than smoking. ;D

For sure. The last few weeks really stink though. Be prepared for any guests to your home to be able to smell what you're up to!
There are steps you can take to mask or eliminate the smell of course, but your first grow should be unsophisticated and cheap imo. You may find out growing's not for you, and if that's the case it'd be a shame to have invested a ton.

My first ever grow was very ghetto, and I have no regrets but it was touch and go towards the end, even with one little plant. If I was the type to have guests over, I wouldn't have gotten away with it, i don't think.
With the benefit of hindsight, I'd advise any new grower to spend a good amount of cash on ventilation and odour control. Good airflow is the key to good yields, and can help prevent a ton of problems. A good fan and carbon filter setup will get rid of all the nasty smells that would have cops (and robbers) kicking your door in, and the plants will benefit from constant fresh air.

Yeah, when I think back to my first plant, I'm amazed I got anything at all. It was from a super-cheap dutch tourist seed, tied down with string to keep as many buds as possible close under the CFLs, in an MDF cabinet I banged together with nails and a PC fan running 24/7. I got just over 1/2oz of nice-ish buds. I thought I was the dog's bollocks!
I've got kids now. My growing days are well over but I got pretty sophisticated over the years.
I'd recommend starting cheap. Growing is easy, but growing well takes investment and dedication. It isn't for everyone.

I've got kids too, but I couldn't bring myself to stop growing. That probably sounds bad to some people, but I know that it doesn't affect them in any way, as long as everything is under lock and key. I love weed, and I feel strongly enough about the stupidity of prohibition that I am willing to accept the risks associated with growing. I've largely grown for myself, and only sold small amounts in the past, but I am hoping to use SR as the means to expand my grow, with a view to eventually relocating to somewhere more detached from me for extra security and of course, a bigger grow room. ;D

I would love to get in to genetics. What amazes me with marijuana is how every strain feels different. I would love learning how to combine strains and creating something that's perfect for me.
-
How many growers are on SR right now? The MJ market is obviously over-saturated, but the seed market is not. I can potentially get some hype strains from Northern California (like girl scout cookies) if there are growers willing to buy.
-
The weed market seems far from over-saturated to me, although I have mainly been focusing my attention on the UK domestic market.
I personally wouldn't buy seeds here, although I can't speak for others' views on the matter. The potential for being scammed is huge, since one seed looks pretty much like another, and you could potentially waste months growing something that wasn't what it claimed to be.
I would prefer to stick to seedbanks that source from known breeders, or directly from the breeders themselves. Sites like the attitude stock most strains that are available in seed form anyway, and they generally have some good free seed offers going.

yeh stick with legit sources like the tude....
