Last time I checked, it was about 12 bitcoins to get a seller account (100 british pounds), but now it's 37 bitcoins (311 british pounds) ... I was about to register as a seller so I can start to make money.. But this is steep. Is there a reason why it's all of a sudden tripled?

I noticed this too. I was getting my funds ready to start selling, but as you said, the current fee is ridiculous. I really hope this is a mistae or only temporary. The SR fees are generous enough to administration, as long as the rate stays this high there is no chance I'll start selling. I already have enough start-up costs to deal with aside from an intial fee that has tripled my calculated costs.

I already scrapped my plan to sell on silk road. I don't think they understand that not everyone is a big time dealer with money falling out of pockets. The whole point was to start earning money. Not many will be willing to throw out that much money not knowing if they will even earn a profit.

It's a fucken scam now. I love the excuse "we do it to keep the scammers out" and now they scam. 500 bucks is not small fee regardless. And if i were a vendor i would be mightly pissed with SR atm..nothing is working and nothing but errors. I u8nderstand that it's an illegal place..but still 500 bucks!
500 bucks you cunts!

I messaged DPR, as well as through the contact button. No reply back.. Greed.

Sorry but this run n gun dealer style isn't what they are looking for on the site any longer. They want vendors that have established networks or can show they can afford to do real business.

This.
I was actually lucky enough to buy my sellers account before the price increase however I'd have gladly paid the increase - what's an extra £200 for access to a market as rich as this? Personally I think it's a great idea and it will really ensure the quality of future vendors. If you can't afford £300 start up costs then you're really in the wrong business guys. It's more than worth the money so if you can find it invest it!
