Title: Confused about acquiring BitCoins :(
Post by: tenuchi1 on April 27, 2012, 02:30 am
Hey everyone, I'm looking to make my first purchase on SR, but I'm confused about getting BitCoins. The whole BitCoin and trading thing and encryption is no problem for me, where I'm stuck is finding the payment option that is best for me. I've pretty much completely ruled out Mt. Gox because of the fact they don't like to be accessed from the Tor network. I've decided that I want to send the money online somehow. Is there a fast, reliable vendor of BitCoin that supports ONLINE wire transfer from Western Union or another trustworthy company?

The easiest way to get coins in my experience is to go to www.bitinstant.com, use the chase deposit method and send it to a Mt. Gox. Mt. Gox gets a bad wrap and I guess for legitimate reasons, but purchasing bitcoins is not illegal and if you make a dummy email with a fake name the whole process is still pretty anonymous anyway. You can have your coin in SR in less than an hour.

I was wondering about this option.  Have you done this before?  How exactly can coins be emailed, and how do you get them from the email address to a wallet?

I'm kind've leaning to an online wire transfer. Does anyone know of a site that has low fees for this method. I don't want to do the WT to Mt. Gox because of the fees of sending it to Japan

well in Canada I used CAVIRTEX, and the fees are quite low, and cash deposit is free
