There seems to be issues with shipping "Priority Flat Rate 4.95"
Such as needing to hand it to a actual person (yes this is the rule where I live)
However, I've come across information in the forums that suggests shipping usps 1st class package (under x Oz in the blue box) is the way to go.
Simply weight your parcel and get the exact postage needed via usps website. (seems to go per ounce of weight)
I have 4.95 Priority stamps that I used even though the actual shipping cost should be close to 2 dollars.
No need to talk to a person and just drop off my own mailers from office supply store.
If no one has any argument about what I've just written I have one question that may seem newbies. My stamp is 4.95, my shipping costs should be 2$, to add delivery confirm it cost some more cents. All of that should be covered with my 4.95 stamp right?
I know I shouldn't over postage but even if I was sending something normal I wouldn't have the time to go get those little stamps. Besides the package looks so tacky with 5 stamps on it! :o
I must be lonesome, someone talk to me before I begin another thread on Stamps!

Strange the rules are national correct? There was a post made by someone who confused everyone awhile back...Several sellers chimed in. I point blank asked a usps person and they told me:

But anything under 13oz can be put in the blue box. You can absolutely drop it in the blue box if its under 13 oz w correct postage (stamps!). This can be priority or 1st class...The $4.95 Flat Rate stamp you have works on the "Flat Rate Envelope." https://www.prioritymail.com/flatrates.asp?id=29917630&ssno=26968
If you go to that link you can click on each of the flat rate boxes and see what the postage is. I've got 99% of my orders from SR via priority mail with stamps. The "small flat rate box" which is perfect for like an 1/8th of cannabis is $5.20 I believe...the vendor I use uses a $4.95 stamp + 1 forever stamp. Another problem people have is shipping priority in the non-usps boxes. The postage is different for priority if you aren't using their wares.
But you shouldn't over postage your item, but people do it all the time. So if you say your item is $2, them your 4.95 stamp should be fine for that and the DC. The problem w 1st class vs priority is knowing if you have the right amnt of postage. With 1st class I usually just walk in post office and say "how much postage for this item?" with stamps in hand...just apply them after you KNOW what the postage is.
If you use the USPS flat rate boxes "if it fits it ships" so doesn't matter how much it weighs. So if you can fit it in a "Small flat rate envelope" the $4.95 stamp is fine. But the mistake people make is thinking the "flat rate samps" cover all priority mail sizes THEY DO NOT!! But you can use the 4.95 stamps on any size as long as you put enough. Remember you can also get $1 stamps...pretty much any $ amnt actually. There are also different size of envelopes and boxes obviously...so just bc it's an envelope doesn't mean its the "small flat rate envelope..." I used wayyy too many quotations in this post.
It can be confusing I know, I hope this post wasn't too all over the place =)
