Hausgemacht 1653 Absinthe is a 148 proof (74% ABV) verte absinthe made according to the oldest known absinthe recipe from 1653. It is an herbal blend of Grand Wormwood, Anise, Fennel, and 13 other herbs and spices. All herbs and spices are sourced from all organic distributors. It is distilled and prepared in the traditional methods from the absinthe golden age in France. The alcohol itself is distilled 8 times before the final product is finished and is macerated in the herbal blend before the final distillation and then after steeped again for an all natural taste and color.
Reviews:
"First off, I feel it's necessary to address what absinthe really is. It has a reputation of being a semi-psychedelic, higher-level alcoholic beverage. What it really is is a liquer with such an amazing, complex and unique flavor that masks that fact that it has a significantly high proof.
I lived in Paris from 2011-2012, and I made a point of ordering absinthe whenever I ended up at a bar or restaurant that seemed to take it's preparation seriously. That being said, Pathenry's absinthe packs a serious punch. Despite this, it's amazingly drinkable. While bitter straight, if prepared as absinthe should be, Pathenry's concoction is a veritable nectar of the gods.
This is a fairly undeveloped section of silkroad, but one that deserves your attention. It tastes homemade, natural. You can taste the care and effort he put into the particular batch. Most of us think of silkroad as a way to obtain illegal and illicit substances, but Pathenry's absinthe goes beyond that. This is a true, American-made beverage of the highest quality, folks."

Did you get my message about another free sample I said I'd send? I've got a moonshine sample made up if you want it.

I tried making my own absinthe before but it was too bitter since I used too much wormwood. I no longer drink but it is a unique buzz. Ever wonder why people like Jagermeister so much? It's the herbs man!
