I'm very curious if anyone has some of this shit. It sounds really fucked up.
Apparently it's the worlds most dangerous drug. If there's any place in the world, besides Columbia, that would have it, I would assume SR could get some.

Not sure what your exact interests are, but look up Jimmy Seeds too (I forget scientific name). I believe they are also one of the worlds strongest hallucinogenics.

Curiosity mostly. It's so crazy that you can be fully active on this shit, but have absolutely no control over yourself.
-
Did you hear about this on Castle? I saw it on an episode a watched a week or so back and was also intrigued if SR would have it...honestly, sounds dangerous! Who wants to be completely suggestible? Sounds like the ultimate rape drug...
-
I think i saw another thread about this, apparently this drug wouldnt be the perfect truth serum/rape drug etc... because it makes you SO dissociated with reality that you wouldn't really be able to succumb to anything.

The story that really got my attention was a person who fell under the control of scopolamine and some vandals. She remembers herself furiously looking through her own apartment looking for money her boyfriend had stashed away. She eventually found it and gave it to the vandals, along with cameras, computers, their TV, etc. But once she regained her composure she was in absolute shock.
Something about flipping the script so drastically that you would ransack your own apartment is very interesting. Plus, wouldn't it be badass to say you could get something like that on the SR?
Although, it's probably best we don't actually open that Pandora's Box now, or ever. Not much good can come from such a thing.

Yeah, it does sound desperately dangerous. Although I was talking to one of my friends (a woman) about it and she said it sounds amazing!!! She said she wants it so she can have the dirty sex with her husband because he wants it and he's great in every other way and she wants to make him happy but she just can't get past her own mind so...
I guess it could help her, but I imagine she'd be the only willing victim!

You find scopolamine in Datura among other things, it's great fun to smoke but I wouldn't eat it :)

Would love to read an experience report on smoking scpolamine.
-
Smoking it gave me uncontrollable laughter, I literally hurt from laughing so much. The hilarity lasted for hours and even when the radiator cap on my old Morris Minor popped off in my face I still found it funny.
I've no idea how much I smoked, I was given a bagful for my birthday and I mixed it with my weed, smoked it all day at a Gong gig, and still had a big bag next day.
Edit: I should make it clear that it was Datura I was smoking and not pure Scopolamine, Datura also contains other stuff like Atropine so the effects are probably different to pure Scopolamine.
Eating Datura is a whole other ballgame, really unpleasant hallucinatioons that last for hours.

Very interesting, thanks for that.

Look out for some Brugmansia, also known as Angels trumpet.
High in Scopolamine and several other tropane alkaloids.
I know of at least 3 houses within 30 minutes of my house with them in peoples front yard.
-
for harm reductions sake, please note the following:
All parts of Brugmansia are poisonous, with the seeds and leaves being especially dangerous.[16][20] Brugmansia are rich in Scopolamine (hyoscine), hyoscyamine, and several other tropane alkaloids.[21] Effects of ingestion can include paralysis of smooth muscles, confusion, tachycardia, dry mouth, diarrhea, migraine headaches, visual and auditory hallucinations, mydriasis, rapid onset cycloplegia, and death.[22][23][24]
The hallucinogenic effects of Brugmansia were described in the journal Pathology as "terrifying rather than pleasurable".[25] The author Christina Pratt, in An Encyclopedia of Shamanism, says that "Brugmansia induces a powerful trance with violent and unpleasant effects, sickening aftereffects, and at times temporary insanity"

Wow. Sounds like my infatuation with PCP. Something I've always wanted to try out of sheer curiosity but pretty much impossible to find these days ... which I'm probably better off because of. :-\

Looks like someone else reads Vice? lol. I didn't finish that documentary with the thought of "boy I can't wait to try this" but I assumed someone would.
What I assume the OP is referring to: http://www.vice.com/vice-news/colombian-devil-s-breath-1-of-2 The story's 4 years old but this was recently uploaded to YouTube.

Somehow nigthmare'ish and terrifying hallucinations still seems intriguing. But I don't hope to see it here on SR, it's apparently very easy to overdose.
-
you can buy Angels Trumpet's Plants on ebay.
also
"While it is occasionally used recreationally for its hallucinogenic properties, the experiences are often extremely mentally and physically unpleasant, and frequently physically dangerous; so repeated use is rare."

It actually has a melange of legitimate medical uses, too. It's just sad that it's being used for covert deception and date rape... :'( :'(
