Title: New scamming trend.
Post by: rednelb1 on March 24, 2012, 01:15 am
I have seen it a bit since I joined and started watching the forums. SO I guess is isn't a new trend.

However,

Seems like a new US vendor pops up, does a month or 2 of great business, then goes onto selective scamming and then on to a final take the money and run scenario.

Is there anyway to stop this.. or is the nature of the SR?

You can get screwed severely Out Of Escrow. At least you got a shot at some kind of return In Escrow.

Take your pick.

Yeah, that's about how it goes. The nature of SR means there is no way to actually ban "people", just their accounts. So it is the nature of scammers, seeing as this IS a black-market affair, to slip around the gaps and scam where they can. If you're gonna be black-market, you have to deal with black-market tactics. And that includes scammers.

Oddly enough, the Road often mirrors real life, doesn't it?  Some people are just fuckers, and that's never gonna change.

This is very disappointing that some people would do this. I was hoping to get away from all the dope dealer drama that occurs on the street... but I guess same sort of people inhabit SR as there are always people who just care about getting high today and not the future!!

It has more to do with the fact that, in the black-market, the only rules that exist are the community-rules.. and if you can manage to evade detection, that means there are no rules. There is no honor among 'thieves', so to speak.

Not to mention that there is really no incentive for SR to negate scamming due to the fact that they make a commission on the reputable and non reputable transactions and when enough customers bitch and they close a scammer's account before he can withdrawl all the ill gotten gains. Guess who gets the remainder of the funds in the account, that's right...............SR. I've had many pm's from my reputable vendors who complain of the delay of withdrawl due to whatever reason. If reputable vendors  have problems withdrawling then scammer's are having problems withdrawling. Not to mention the vendor fee that SR makes initially. And SR is the first to denounce scamming as they should but all the while knowing that eventually they will make out in the end either way. So SR is no different than the street in many respects and you have to take it with a grain of salt. All and all SR is still the best source for your favorite vice as long as you do your homework and cross your fingers.

Yeah this type of scamming really fucking upsets me. I've been a victim of PTP and hybridmike. Was completely caught off guard both times. Unfortunately there's nothing to do about it so the main thing i've learned is to be an educated buyer, stay in escrow unless you trust the vendor and are prepared to lose that much money, always search the forums for said vendor, and if something seems too good to be true it probably is.

Some of what you say makes a little sense.  Most of it is bullshit really.  There was only 1 time I could ever remember when SR was having wallet problems and withdrawl problems did in fact occur.  Coins went into other peoples wallet's and it was a mess.

I highly doubt you have reputable members messaging you telling you about withdrawl problems.  Why would they?  I haven't had 1 problem ever, not that I vend much regardless, plus I would never leave a large amount of coins in my wallet on this website either with all the variables.  I have been on this site for almost a year so I would remember if that shit was constantly occurring.

And SR isn't like the street, because if SR gets caught he/she/they are going away for life.  I'm guessing SR has most of his money invested in a lawyer, I would - and maybe a cyanide pill.  Besides, you always pay your taxes, and I mean I guess the guy deserves his cut.

Btw, it isn't like scammers just hold all their coin in their account.  As soon as they scam they are withdrawing that cash, they aren't going to let it build up in their "scammer account."  If they do they are stupid as shit and AFAIK, SR has never posted a thing about exact monetary values regarding these transactions.

If you are constantly staying inside the escrow system the only way to get burnt is to finalize upon receiving the drugs and then later find out they are bunk (if buyer).  For vendors there are more ways to get burnt, including going to prison for selling drugs through the mail, but there is no way to ever avoid scamming altogether.  But it has nothing to do with transaction amounts, IMO, because the total is probably too small as far as a percentage to sales and SR's cut of those sales.

I don't think this is a planned scamming layout, I feel vendors make good money at first, but realize its alot of work and risk, and eventually get lazy, then just take the money and run.

SR mirrors real life in that the drugs scene attracts scammers.

Unlike real life we have escrow which is about the best insurance a buyer and seller can have.

Finalising early I have done that when new here and also in the sale for coke only.

Right now I will never finalise early but I cannot always wait until I test product to FE. I get my mail at 9.00am and don't want to rail a line of coke or drop 100mg of speed.

I use SR to stock up on supplies of verified pure substances for my own use and friends also.

If we all stuck to the top rank vendors this would be unfair on the little guys starting up.

In the end we have to accept that its usually greed that parts people from money. Good deals are sometimes bait and if you bite your caught or your BTC is.

Before I buy I research the seller on the forums and on the feedback system.

So far I have got everything I ordered with the exception of a vendor who has vanished for 8 days yet the order has been in transit for 10 days. I have $50 or so in escrow. I'm worried by comments here that escrow is taken by SR if a vendor goes awol and vanishes. I was under the impression that I would get this back. I have my resolve button in two days. The guy might be dead or in prison. I feel bad for him if so but I also would like to see my BTC return also!

So we agree to disagree. Have your account closed abruptly by SR and see if you get whatever amount is left. Nonetheless my point is SR comes first when there are funds to be acquired, whether it's a valid vendor transaction or an invalid vendor transaction they get theirs first and members have no recourse but to kiss their funds goodbye. I'm sure if SR was getting ripped off they wouldn't drag their feet on taking swift action to protect their shit. When it's the community clamering about a scammer, different time frame. Again members need to heed buyer beware rules, do their homework and cross their fingers and SR with all it's faults, like the new bullshit feedback system, is still a good source for your vices. Sr is not perfect but neither am I and I'll continue to do business here because my gain percentage is much higher than my loss percentage. Bullshit not withstanding.

Yeap.   People are desperate.  Had some runners didnt have a pot to piss in.  I paid what I could to get my herbs.   oneday handed them 500 to go make a pickup they didnt come back.   Guess they had enough of smoking for free and crashing on my couch.  500 bucks got them a week at a decent hotel and some booze. They where back on the street and no more warm place to take showers crash, smoke for free, and watch all the latest piratebay movies, plus all the kickbacks for deliveries and such.
