Title: First time in resolution centre . . . advice please!
Post by: jape25 on December 19, 2012, 08:55 pm
A recent order of mine (a large one by my standards) has failed to show up after 17 days.
I have extended the time allowed for a further 7 days in the resolution center.
I have ordered many times from this seller before, always successful, but, after reading a lot on this forum maybe i have been lucky so far with my good experiences.

I can't help but have doubt about whether i have been selectively scammed as it is Christmas and the postal service is very busy, or it has genuinely been lost in the mail .. . .

The item has no tracking (option wasn't available). The seller is offering a reship (percentage not clarified yet) in January once the postal service is more functional.

As much as i would love a reship, i can't help think that its an easy way out for a seller to offer a reship, get the funds released from escrow then not send anything????

Should i just ask for proof of postage in the resolution centre?

If he can't produce proof, am i likely to get more than the advertised 50% refund??

Any help is much appreciated :)

Hey!

I would suggest asking for a refund, because if it hasn't arrived once, why should it arrive the 2nd time?

It's all about the vendor's policy, you can of course ask for a higher refund than he asked, but I'd suggest you extending your wait period, because as you said yourself, the post system is REALLY slow at times like this.

If I were in your shoes, I'd extend it for about 20 days, if it hasn't arrived by that, it won't...(never say never though ;))

All the very best to you and I wish you luck!

Actually I have been doing a lot of shipping lately as a vendor and I have found it happens even with tracking. USPS loses packages and can't explain it, everything is arriving one or two days late if not more.  I offer a re-ship if it is for a legitimate reason.  If it is because of a bad name or address and I see it on tracking that is different because it wasn't my fault the buyer used a bad name or hot location.  Most people are honest because they want to do repeat business.  If it doesn't come after 10 to 13 days and I will re-ship with tracking.  It is important to remember vendors are suppose to get rid of address after the package is shipped, so IF YOU NEED A RE-SHIP I NEED YOUR ADDRESS AGAIN.  Sorry, I just feel for some people because it is real easy to get screwed.

I was wondering about how to get into the resolution center. I had someone say they didn't get an item. I told them it wasn't expected to arrive for another day or two. I checked back in asking if the package came the next day and there was no response.  The transaction went to auto-fin I figured they got it and were done with the silk ride because they did like the vendor before me either and I was his/her only other transaction. A few days after the autofin s/he gives me 1 of 5 saying it never came and will update if resolved quickly.  I asked for a reship address saying sorry and that I would have re-shipped 2 wks ago if you had asked when the 10 to 12 day waiting period was up esp for 1st class mail. I waited a couple more days for the buyer to email me with the re-ship address I expressed the 1 gram $10 sample at $30 within 24 hrs of receiving the reship address. I sent the confirmation number in an email. I followed up with another email asking if arrived a day after it was delivered and the buyer still hasn't read the email and it has been a week since it arrived. I went from 100 down to 94 because of a $10 1 gram sample.  It is hard initially getting people to trust you.  So when you earn that 100 it means something.  And to have it taken away by someone that may never use on the silk road again really sucks.  I know when I was a buyer and if I had to choose between a guy who had 100 and 94 it wouldn't matter what the 94's price was.  Luckily I have a pretty strong customer base and it is slowly moving in the right direction.  Sorry to vent but let me know how it goes. Because I could use some advice to.
