Title: (Electrolytic Hydrogenation) Crystal Meth + Crystal/Freebase MDPV

Hello,

To all the organic chemists in the house, I was curious about meth production.

I know there's like 20+ recipes to create crystal meth (CMA) using either pseudophedrine, ephedrine, P2P, sassafras oil, etc., but is there one recipe that's best out of all? One that gives the greatest potency, while also giving a clean high, and easy comedown? I've read that the Electrolytic Hydrogenation method is best because it eliminates the harsh comedown after running out of meth, which is due to no red phosphorus being used (gums up the brain?). Is there any merit to that?

Please, I'd like to hear people extrapolate and elaborate on this topic. Also, is Electrolytic Hydrogenation hard to do? I'd sure as hell pay for some of that meth on SR (*cough, cough* DOPEBOY *cough*)! ;)

Also, I've recently tried MDPV for the first time, and I have to say, as a stimulant fan, I'm loving this stuff! It really is like coke and meth combined. My only gripe is that it's not smokeable like crystal meth. Is that fixable? Some people have said you can freebase MDPV, but I'm not interested in that if it gives a crack cocaine experience. Is there a way to make, like, crystal MDPV so it gives huge "dragon's breaths" while keeping you high for hours? That would be my drug (er, love?) for life!

You can really only make CRYSTAL meth from ephedrine or pseudoephedrine.  Meth made via P2P is racemic and doesn't form crystals.  And sassafras oil is used to make ecstasy, not meth.  If you're interested in drug synthesis, look at the-collective.ws.

Electrolytic is possible, but yields suck.  Most meth that's made by amateurs is done by either the I/RP method or the birch reduction method (lithium and ammonia).

And just so you know, MDPV is DEFINITELY smokable, but be warned, it's super addictive when smoked, and will almost always eventually produce disturbingly realistic auditory hallucinations.  If what you have isn't smokable, it's probably not MDPV.

Electrochemistry is best left to academics, most academic & industrial labs won't use electrochemistry- it's a throwback from the 50's and is only really used for applications such as mechanistic studies of reactions. There was a guy on here a few months ago who claimed he'd come up with a commercially viable method of electrolytic meth synthesis but he disappeared- I'm pretty sure he wouldn't have been successful.

The method you use has NOTHING to do with the purity/ effects of the product. The only factor in determining the purity of the product is the method by which you clean up the product after the reaction.

Making meth from P2P is a waste of time, P2P is difficult to get commercially, so you have to go through the Knoevenagel- reduction route from benzaldehyde to P2P then reductively aminate. You mentioned that the product of the P2P route is racemic, which is true. If you want to produce a single enantiomer of product from P2P you need to perform an asymmetric reductive amination using a method such as imine formation using methylamine, then enantioselective catalytic hydrogenation using an asymmetric hydrogenation catalyst....

OR- you can just do an RP/I or Lithium-Birch reduction, trailer trash style. The yields are high, the protocols are well established. If you have a bit of experience with common lab techniques, the Birch isn't too bad. You just need good ventilation and a shit load of dry ice. Wet dreams, Rhodium, the hive- they've all got tons of guides on these methods.

Whichever method you choose, you can make super pure product simply by vacuum distilling the freebase and properly recrystallising.

I can confirm, I've smoked MDPV on a couple of occasions, you can run it on foil... But agreed, it is SUPER addictive! I've had some spectacular paranoia on it (second only to Meth) - It's pretty cool, but it's so easy to smoke too much, and the comedown is painful, aching muscles, headaches...
Very scary stuff, I actually prefer Crack and Meth cos I know where I stand with them... MDPV is a whole different beast!

What do you mean you can't smoke MDPV? I managed to smoke several grams of it before I realized just how fucked I was getting and flushed the rest. As others have said, smoked MDPV is a beast. Once it gets its hooks into your dopamine reward/response system you'll be hitting that pipe like a lab rat pulling a lever for crack.  Nasty, nasty stuff: I'd do meth before I'd touch MDPV again.

I smoke mdpv all the time.  You need an adjustable flame, it don't take barely anything to  get it running. Also, you need to wait a good twenty minutes to see where you're at before pulling another hit. It's really easy to over do it smoking it. But, the best thing about smoking it is. If you do too much, you're only in a bad spot for an hour vs nasally two and half hours.. You can freebase it but, if you can get good at lighting the mdpv. You can do it in it's HCL form. Meth is a lot easier on the lungs and throat though.
