it seems whenever im browsing the forums half of the threads are people asking for loans (none of which will ever pay back) i just think it gets annoying. what do you guys think?

Everyone I've ever loaned to, (10's of people) have paid back eventually.
I don't see that many threads regarding money requests either....

i have loaned to 2 people and have not been paid back either time. and it just seems like a way for a mooch to be rewarded to me at least. Idk
-
I'm 0/5 of being paid back so I gave up giving. It wasn't much money but a simple "thanks" would have been enough payback.
In the past hour I have seen 5 different posts for this same topic so I have to agree with smokeweed. One guy was asking for as much as 9 BTC

Yeah I did see that. That was a bit ridiculous.
Perhaps a specific place in the forum for loaning? Banning is a bit extreme, especially with the nature of this site, banning something would be hypocritical.

Don't bother me none.

This ::)
As long you check their profile before sending money, not a lot can go wrong :)

Why remove it? It's not like it's cluttering up the place.
Thanks for reminding me, I owe an old friend a few a few bitcents........

i understand, its easy to come up a tad short. under a coin is cool

How about an entirely new category on the road called "loan market," with perhaps an altered escrow system for accomodating loans.
Maybe with an emphasis on short-term loans. Let's be honest, other than the money-havers, who hasn't ever cut themselves short a btc or two on a time sensitive order?

Yeah, being caught short is common.. And its ok when its under 1 BTC in my opinon.
but how would escrow work? They need the money straight up to pay for the product.. what would be held in escrow?
I've actually been racking my brain all day today to solve this. We need something for both this and btc vendors...

I have an idea^
When someone asks for a loan, it's because they're short. Let's say they're .9 btc short for their purchase. They request .9btc.
Now, a modified feedback system (basic) goes into place. Where I'm not a vendor, but I am a loaner at my discretion.
Next, it goes to a loan-listing, where I put up a listing for 0.1btc. The person in need buys it and I send back 1.0btc (to cover the .9 and the .1 they just sent me)
Now, it goes through the modified feedback system as a transaction. Failure to repay within agreed upon time can result in a 1/5. Basically, the loaner has the ability to say "this guy didn't pay me back what he promised" and damage his stats.
I probably missed some things so I'm open to hearing why this wouldn't work well. I just figured it'd be a great feature. I was thinking of this earlier after sending out .8btc to someone in need of a loan. I can take the hit and .8 is a reasonable request... but added feedback->stats availability would be better than nothing I think.

can someone PLEASE lend me SHITE loads of btc ,as there seems to be lots of goodies on SR and dont want to use my own money ,many thanks , :D :D :D :D
-
Under 1BTC keep it here. Over 1BTC there is a loan website somewhere in the deepweb that can be used.
Dank

I've been loaned small amounts and i've given out small amounts, sometimes they pay back, sometimes they don't. If ever i'm a few BTC short on something i PM the people i loaned btc too to see if they can give it back, if not its cool since it has only ever been such a small amount. So i don't think there's anything wrong with it, we're all helping each other out :)
-
i honestly dont think its a big deal either but after being nice and giving a few loans and never getting paid back im weary of it now. if someones short a small amount for an order im sure the vendor would be more than happy to help them out.
-
if you cant afford it then dont buy it,its pretty simple really, :D :D ::)
-
A loan system through SR would be great.
The borrower could apply through SR, find a lender, input their amount/payback date/interest/etc. Once they send that info to the loaner, the loaner will review it and will check/uncheck to indicate a agreement. This would then go to SR mods who can validate it and then pass it. If a problem arises either party can contact a mod, and upon review they can settle any problems. Of course good stats/feedback/record will be needed to apply for this system.
I think its a great alternative between pondering who to loan/not loan on the forums and such.

Come up short <1BTC?
Ask your vendor, then if they say no maybe post asking for a loan.
Personally, if the vendor said no and I wasn't happy getting something cheaper, then I'd start the whole process of getting more coins. I wouldn't post asking for a loan.
But that's just me and I don't really care if someone does that. It just seems to be happening more and more.

I was just about to post a new topic in this thread after seeing the post regarding wanting a sample and needing a bitcoin for shipping.
WHY IS MY MONEY SUDDENLY YOUR MONEY?
This is the worst one yet. Not even short a bitcoin, just wants it so they can start from 0$ to the amount they need for an item. This is utterly absurd and an unwelcome stressor on my mental health. This is not a charity. Atleast offer to suck some fucking dicks.
I like the loan-review idea. Credible people deserve the wiggle room.
MY SUGGESTION:
Give me the option to filter threads. Such as a "Show no threads with most of these words in the original post..." I would put Borrow, Bitcoin, Lend, Loan, Payback, Return
Seriously. WHO the fuck are you that you deserve any one elses money ever?
