Channel 4 seem to have a very interesting live documentary coming up.
"This series will provide viewers with access to a live drug trial. With outstanding access to the leading researchers in the field, viewers will be able to see for themselves the actual effects drugs have in unparalleled detail and get a front row seat to witness compelling science as it unfolds."

Perhaps the media have finally seen sense and want to broadcast some truth about illicit drugs. :D

Its great that Channel 4 are doing this, rather than investigating minor issues of public concern like gangs of muslim peadophiles, the effects of Labours immigration policy, Jihadists in the UK etc. etc.
you have got to be kidding us , how low will the tv people get now they want to show celebs getting drugged up on tv , the kids wont look at the effects of taking drugs they will take them because it is what celebs do , we have enough problems with drugs in this country and now we are going to put on a show to watch celebs taking them , sorry it is farcical and should not be allowed infact it should be banned before it is shown and if channel 4 sanction this then they should be taken to court like any other drug pusher and the users as well
So, if young people see these 'celebs' having a 'great time' on these drugs, who will take the blame when they decide they want some of that for themselves?
Yahoo commentators are the lowest form of internet commentator.
This show sounds awesome though, and will help introduce a dialogue about drugs that's more than just 'WHAT ABOUT THE CHILDREN'.

Oh wow, i didn't even read that. So basically they are admitting that they'd rather their kids be brainwashed with bullshit, rather than be told the truth? Great parents, it seems. Not that they'd ever encourage their kids to drink a beer or a glass of wine with them someday because 'oh, drugs are so bad'. All a bit hypercritical, ignorant and naive really.

These are the same people that get fucked up on WKD and shout at their kids in ASDA. The only drug education they've had is Leah Betts :(

True say, probably avid Daily Mail readers too.

I was going to post this but I didn't want to bring down the collective intelligence of SR.

oh dear what has our society come too, spreading moral panic over laughing gas. Lol absolutely pathetic :o

I suspect that it will be unbalanced, with just enough thought put into it to fool the majority into thinking it was objective and unbiased. You know, kinda like how BBC journalism does things, where the perception that you are giving a fair view is way more important than actually doing it.
(Note: I'm not saying any mainstream news outlet is not doing this, but they seem to have it down to an art over there.)
I hope the show is awesome. Hoping beyond hope.
Check out the Discovery channel version they did, hosted by Robin Williams: "Your Body On Drugs"
You can guarantee they will use that template and tweak it.

Should be an interesting documentary, I'm just wondering how balanced it will be. Most documentaries I've watched tend to lean toward the negative aspects of drug use, they often go into the social problems they say are caused by drugs when in actual fact those problems are mainly caused by prohibition. You never hear about Johnny McBusiness who has a great career and drops some MDMA a few times a year. I'm gonna a watch it with my girlfriend anyway, shes been brought up with a very strong 'drugs are bad' outlook. I'm trying to educate her on the ups and downs of drugs and I'm making ground but its difficult to peel back the layers of conditioning.

Its amazing the amount of people I hear who buy into the absolute bullshit that paper prints. When I see people reading it in public I feel like stealing their paper and making a run for it. :P
I follow a lot of science news from reputable websites, occasionally you will see one of these stories make it to the Daily Fail and the whole thing is ridiculously inaccurate, sensationalised, even fabricated in parts.

Christ o lord fuck me! I HATE shopping in Asda, its like the Jeremy Kyle shopping center, virtually every isle is full of scumbags screaming at their their toddlers calling them 'fucking cunts' (etc)... makes you realise that the world is going to be a fucked up place for a very long time. Shame its the only place in the UK I can buy root beer :P
