Title: Trying to copy/paste GPG ascii into message box
Post by: NineUse on September 26, 2012, 11:07 pm
I'm new to GPG and SR - I'm trying to place my first order but I have a few confusions.  I am using gpg4win and I've created my key and imported the sellers public key but a few things aren't going perfectly.
1. I encrypt a message with my name and address and my public key which is then saved to my desktop.  I open the encrypted message in notepad++ and select all and copy.  I then try to paste into the sr shopping cart message box but the message doesnt match the encrypted message and there is no way to attach.  I'm sure I'm doing something wrong but what?
2. Since I finally brokedown and posted a message on the forum looking for help - can somebody give an example of the way the message is supposed to appear.  I need step by step screenshots please.  Some people talk about attaching the info, but there is no attachment button.  Am I supposed to email the attachment?  Do I encrypt my public key or leave it outside the encrypted text?
I know this sounds basic to seasoned users, but there is no definitive step by step in the forums (and I have looked and read).
Thanks for helping

I saw that program and had some issues (which I dont recall now).  I used the gpg4win because a number of other users insisted that it was the best for windows (I also found a good tutorial on youtube).  But I still want to know why the encrypted message is different when I copy/paste it in the shopping cart or if I'm supposed to email it directly as an attachment.  Someone please answer.

You're not making any sense to me here. How are these messages different?  Could you post screenshots, so we could have an idea of what you're talking about?

only thing i can think of is that the message isn't being ascii armored?
